summer of 2016

Red Bull Ring, Austria

”please y/n, you’re 16 years old, can’t you go elsewhere and entertain yourself, you’re getting a bit annoying now” y/n’s dad told her whilst he was trying to fix the broken car.

”ugh, sure i’ll go for a walk then” y/n sighed and went to go for a walk around the paddock hoping to see something more interesting than broken cars. her friends were jealous that y/n could tag along her father around europe all summer watching the eurocup formula renault 2.0, but she wasn’t very impressed. despite having a father working as a mechanic and utterly interested in motorsport she hadn’t inherited any interested in the sport what so ever. but at least she could escape england and the rain for some time so it felt like a win although she sometimes felt like dying from boredom. 

y/n walked around the paddock and decided to facetime her friend y/f/n.

”please come and save me, austria is so fucking boring and where the hell are all the cute guys i was waiting for??” y/n proclaimed. 

”omg y/n stop it, you’re always nagging about everything, you should be happy!! nothing happens here either so might as well be in another country doing the same” y/f/n said as y/n entered a tent where they served drinks and snacks. while she was ordering she noticed a curly haired boy shaking his head whilst smiling her way but she just continued her conversation with y/f/n. after enough discussion about the lack of interest y/n had for the sport and talking about y/f/n new crush y/n ended the call, sat down and opened her pepsi in front of her. it took about five milliseconds before the curly haired boy reappeared, this time in the seat in front of her. 

”hi” the boy squealed. 

”…hi?” y/n said questioning what he wanted, she weren’t exactly in the bestest of moods so to say. 

”i heard you hated the eurocup and that you think every guy is ugly here, so here i am to prove you otherwise” he said grinning. y/n chuckled at the way the boy seemed to have no time to waste in proving her wrong. 

”and how are you supposed to do that? do you have a masterplan?” y/n asked looking amused.

”glad you asked! well first of all here i am so now you’ve at least seen one cute boy around the paddock so there’s one problem solved an-” the boy was interrupted with y/n’s laugh. she couldn’t help herself from laughing but tried to gesticulate with her hand that he could continue. 

with a smile he proceeded to tell the girl about a betting game that could make her interested in watching the races. y/n was immediately down for the idea because honestly she could’ve done anything at this moment to have some fun. they had to come up with one condition each for the bet and agreed on saying them at the same time so no-one could back out. the curly haired boy betted that he would stand on the podium on today’s race and y/n betted that he wouldn’t, easy as that. now to the conditions. the boy apparently had his condition already planned out so y/n panicked trying to come up with one quickly too. she looked around her and went with the first random idea she got. 

”okay so we’ll say them on three?” y/n asked getting a nod for an answer.

”one.. two.. three” 

”you’ll buy me-” y/n started before getting interrupted.

”you’ll give me a kiss” the boy said with a cheeky smile. 

”…a pepsi. WHOA! you’re wasting no time mister” y/n laughed out after finding out the big differences in the conditions given. she was followed by a laughter from the boy too who was unsurprisingly very pleased with the bet. y/n wasn’t disappointed either, the boy was indeed quite cute for being a driver but she couldn’t let him know that. imagine the hubris he would get then, in comparison what he already had. 

the pair shook hands and locked in the bet. they decided to meet up after the race either at the podium or at his team, depending on how the race went. y/n was excited and almost felt a little butterfly in her stomach getting loose. 

”see you later then…” the boy hesitated realizing he hadn’t asked her name.

”y/n l/n, and yours was?” she asked.

”lando norris, but there’s no need to remember that, you will see the name on the top of the podium later” he chuckled walking away to his team. 

y/n could only smile and shake her head while walking away too.

”and lando norris takes his fourth victory in this seasons eurocup!!” the presenter shouts excitingly. 

y/n was smiling so big her dad had to check up on her, how she immediately had watched a whole race after watching exactly zero of them up until now this summer. y/n had no time to explain to him what was going on and started to run along the paddock until she reached the podium. she was so excited and nervous that she was about to burst, it was hard to believe that she was developing some kind of a crush to this random driver. 

because she had little to none sense of direction the celebration at the podium was already done and dusted when she reached it. a bit disappointed and confused she looked around to see if she could see lando somewhere. there was surprisingly many people running around here.

”looking for someone?” a familiar voice said and y/n turned around. there he was, a happy lando holding a trophy in one hand and a bouquet of flowers in the other. she smiled and congratulated him partly for the victory and partly because he somehow got her interest in the sport for once. 

”i know it’s not nearly as good as a pepsi but you can have my flowers as a consolation prize” he said handing them to her. she took the flowers and admired them with a smile feeling her butterflies about to let loose. she collected some courage and looked up at his eyes before quickly looking at his lips and crashing onto them. the kiss took lando a bit with surprise but he was quick to answer it. with the hand not holding the trophy lando gently grabbed the back of y/n’s head, slowly deepening the kiss. the butterflies were officially out and about in y/n’s stomach. she tried so hard to hide the excitement but at the end she couldn’t resist smiling and therefore accidentally ending the kiss. slowly they pulled away from each other, leaving them both with blushing smiles on their lips. they looked at each other in silence for a moment before abruptly getting interrupted.

”lando! we’re taking pictures! come here now!” a member of his team shouted.

”well i guess i have to go then.. hope i’ll see you around” lando shyly told the girl.

”i hope so too” y/n stated not knowing the rollercoaster of joys and troubles they’d share in the future as friends and lovers.

OKAY, GUYS - I HAVE ANOTHER SDMN-CENTRED FEMINIST RANT.

Okay, so, hopefully you all know TheBurntChip (Josh Larkin), and his lovely jovely gf Sabina:

Beautiful couple, seem happy together, no problems there.

One thing i think im seeing with the YouTubers' Girlfriends (let's call them YTer gf's, abbreviated) is that there's a certain trend in assets for which fans pick and choose to determine whether or not a YT gf is "per standard" and collectively liked.

For example, Faith and Talia have gone through shitloads of hate from fans because they actually speak their mind and are consistent with their own personal ethos within whatever content they produce and share online.

Like the whole Mia-sat-on-Ethan's-lap incident which resulted in Faith making a TikTok and speaking out on social media multiple times to call out the fact that yes - she's unhappy about it - and also the fact that it's a very valid thing to be unhappy over

Aaand this created a lot of backlash and hatred from Sidemen fans, because they don't like hearing anything that's inconsistent with what is a stereotypically immature male opinion, generally consistent with patriarchal societal roles... And this is shown through a lot of Talia and Faith's comment sections by the adolescent male SDMN fans

Hence the assumption can be made that Sidemen fans dislike YTer gf's that are too vocal about problems they've faced which aren't relevant to male audiences.

Thing is, there's obviously some YTer gf's that these fans really like, but...

Why do they like them so much???

Well, I think that both Sabina and Tennessee are two YTer gf's that can be used as examples of wamen that are completely adored by these adolescent male SDMN fans.

But their reasons for being so liked to much are so very contrasting.

Tennesse is loved because she's beautiful. We've been through this quite a bit when i went through the whole "I can't believe Danny would put his ex through that" pipeline following Locked In... But it's worth pointing out that (as far as I know), the toxic Fifa fanboys seem to love her because she's a clearly good looking woman who's undeniably got personality too (watched the saving grade pod w her on it last night) and i don't think she's said anything too inconsistent with male opinions yet, sooo... Makes sense why she's liked; imo she plays into the ideal woman from a man's perspective very well

Alternately, Sabina seems pretty reserved on social medias - not really speaking that much as a social media personality, rather just sharing her life on insta n tiktok, whatever - nothing wrong with that.

I think that the fanboys like Sabina quite a bit though, as she posts cooking content on TikTok, and idk why but there's an agenda on social medias atm, that a woman who can cook is wifey material... This woman-must-be-good-at-cooking culture ofc stems from historical patriarchal roles for women to fulfil the duty of housewives, thus being able to cook n clean - but i really have no idea why this still exists in a modern day society considering there's been so many changes within the world which now enables women to work equal jobs as men

I don't know whether this belief of cooking-women being a blessing is a toxic sorta concept though, because there's a certain tenderness and nicety to having someone cook you a meal - regardless of whether it is a male or female tbh

Either ways, Sabina does make meals and does her cooking thing on TikTok really well - like - honestly? Some days I'm jealous that I'm not the one able to eat some of the stuff she can bake n make... Back on track - yes - Sabina bakes/cooks her things n films Chippo's reaction to trying them out

Male audience love this ofc, bc it fulfils the whole woman-cooking-for-partner thing which is favoured amongst males

Well, the male fans hate Faith. Love Sabina.

a little fun AU I've been chipping away at when I don't want to work on college or portfolio related work

follows the idw2 mentor-mentee concept

hotrod and flamewar are from nyon, a developing port town and were both mentored by kup

they work as a "fisher" and scrapdiver respectively

springer was also mentored by kup and runs a package delivery business

^^ arcee, blurr and drift are 3 employees that hot rod and flamewar are friendly with(ish, not really w/ drift he's just kinda there sometimes and usually shadows arcee. flamewars the first to get buddy buddy w him)

arcee is the main courier that goes between nyon and so and so

umm main relationships are with ...arcee rn actually which made me laugh shes just fun to me, shes known blurr the longest and also rooms w/ him. she initially went from kaon the most and met drift there, they end up getting buddy buddy and he's kinda just wresled into the courier job bcs sprigne considered him shadowing arcee constantly loitering and he might as well help w the work she does etc etc idk im still thinking abt it I just think he's a funny character to bounce off a bubbly arcee

shes very close w/ hot rod too as he's usually the one rushing to greet her when she arrives to nyon w/ mail n packages etc etc

shes the one dragging them both into dangerous situations while hot rod does his best to make sure they both Survive.

I don't think ill get to this anytime soon but uhh first aid, nautica and slipstream are somewhere there too... first aids running the only clinic in nyon atm, nautica is a researcher from an island in the middle of the rust sea which nyon borders, and im imagining slipstream to be a seaplane that crahsed in nyon n that's how flamewar meets her n the whole shebang <3

bumblebee is in there somewhere bcs im a bit obsessed w how idw bumblebee is such a hater @ rodimus but rodimus is like, honestly pretty amicable in comparison to him? keeping this up, bumblebee is a little clown car in my head and works as a performer in Iacon or smt idrk who this all fits in I just think its a rlly cute idea

unrelated to the nyon group but some small things I've been thinking up is the outlier academy that I thnk blurr eventually leaves the courier business for , n that's ran by shockwave n optimus is somewhere there too as a librarian or smt (maybe. idk yet.)

hand waving I really really like soundwave and blaster too so I've been wondering what they'd do its just kinda been ooohhh what r some characters I like and what r some interactions thatd be fun as I mish mash personalities and backstories frm diff continiuties I doubt ill get to drawing most of these guys though I barely have 5 characters pinned down

i honestly cannot get over how much this scene from tfs

reminds me of terry stuck in her chair in st2

especially how much her dress is reminiscent of the sheet(?) over henry's lap, and arms in the same pose on the arms of the chair (yes, i know henry is tied down and that's the logical place to do it, but still). even the cuffs on her sweater are visually similar to that of the straps tying henry down

it took me a minute to connect the visual back to terry, but with the general context of the scene in question (brenner talking to henry about the kids in the lab, how he's been behaving well enough that he's now allowed to meet them, etc.) i was immediately looking at it like "this looks like a woman just coming out of a rough pregnancy/delivery who was barred from seeing the kids due to her acting out of sorts/unhealthily." and maybe it's just because of all of henward's mother coding (shoutout to mothergate and the post of all time by james) but with all the sa coding throughout tfs, the weirdness with henry's supposed relation to the lab kids, etc... i definitely feel like it's a connection we're meant to make

and while i don't have the full context from that tfs scene yet, james and em have also said that henry is way out of it in that whole sequence (and you can really tell in the still of him looking down at where brenner is touching him. he looks exhausted). which only further reminds me of terry, not just in the sense of her being involved in hnl drug programs and mkultra, but also her general state after she's been zapped (not to mention how terry has no real way to communicate other than these flashes of memories using her/el's powers, much like how atp henry has no real way to communicate the truth to anyone, including the audience, so we have to form our own conclusions based on the fragmented evidence we're given, but anyway)

which, speaking of...

sure, a ball gag and a bite block/mouth guard aren't exactly the same thing, but they could be used for similar purposes (in this case, to prevent biting. in the case of terry, to keep her from biting her own tongue. for henry? perhaps the same case, but likely also to prevent biting others if his arms are also strapped down)

and with the question of henry's relation to the lab kids/el specifically, it brings me back to the idea that el and jane might not be the same person at all and it was more of a mixup/el misunderstanding what terry showed her, etc. (which has been talked about countless times before by multiple people but i can't find the posts atm rip im so sorry)

and so if we're meant to make a connection between henry and terry with these visuals, plus with the whole "henry was being kept away from the kids for misbehaving" and "terry was punished for trying to find her child after she was taken from her" ... i feel like it's stupid to not draw a line between the two of them and reach the conclusion that henry fathered (or mothered) at least some of the lab kids. and to then see terry fight so hard to get jane back... only to be shown 001 (some version of henry) doing everything he can to save el as well?

anyway i can't remember where i was going with this post anymore lol. long story short, i think this new visual from tfs is just one more nail in the mothergate coffin, and henry definitely was used to breed more powerful kids, and the close tie to terry just makes me think that he really and truly fathered el

short post: chat i might be more genderfluid than i thought

long post: gender is so fucking weird dawg i used to be so adamant about not using she/her pronouns (because once I stopped identifying as a girl it just felt Not Right yk) but in the past few years (and especially the past few months) my perspective has kinda shifted?

during quarantine i started to open myself up to liking more feminine things again (buying a few skirts/dresses, all of which I've only worn once and never again), and at some point I added it/its to my pronoun roster (though not publicly). i noticed at some point that sometimes i prefer certain pronouns over others, so on my main discord server id occasionally change my server nickname to include whatever pronouns i liked best at the time. i didn't Really call it being genderfluid, though i was like Yeah That Could Apply I Guess. I'll Just Stick With Genderqueer/Nonbinary Tho :P

and Then in the past few months to a year i started opening up more to the idea of adding she/her pronouns to the roster again, which felt. strange. not strange in the way i felt previously, where it felt Not Right, but more like "am i just giving up because of being misgendered? am i just Bad at being trans?" strange. (and i Still kinda feel that a bit honestly..... i don't Think that's the case but im like What If)

what makes the whole thing even Stranger is for the first time (happening Right Now, in fact), she/her feels kinda more fitting atm than he/him?? so now im kinda stepping back and thinking. why not add she/her to the pronoun list. i can always remove it later if im not vibing with it

all this to say: i think once im back on my computer i'll change my blog description to have my pronouns as they/it/he/she, and bold whichever ones i prefer atm? i dunno tho, it sounds kinda tedious and ultimately i don't actually Care which one im called 80% of the time aaaaaaa

soarburn: ok so i actually wrote a fic on this! Ik theres absolutely no basis for this in or outside of the show, but part of what makes it so fun is imagining all the interactions they COULD have. I mean, think about it, Braeburn's super extroverted, charming, and hospitable; Soarin's an accomplished athlete, plus hes friendly and simplistic--kind of reminds me of their female counterpart (appledash). Like guys imagine Soarin in his suit and Braeburn ~flirting~ w him.. ouhhh imagine their banter !!

lunajack: ok ive actually seen some rlly good takes that got me on this ship! If i didnt hc Luna as aroace it'd 1000% be one of my top ships of all time. They could have such a good princess x pauper dynamic, a high society royal x simpleton farmer union. Plus like others have said, Applejack is one of the most people ponies ever and has this inherent, idk kindness?? and Luna meanwhile has this huge distance from others because of her years of exile, her particular role as a princess, and all of the walls shes built up from the guilt of nightmare moon. She was one of the first ponies to try and connect to luna in the most welcoming way possible despite her aura that one time she visited ponyville. Hell even luna called her "fair Applejack" at some point😭 like u cannot tell me aj's heart didnt at LEAST skip a beat😭. imagine being a farmgirl just hangin out in a scarecrow fit on nightmare night and the literal goddess of the moon calls you "fair" in return for some of your help, im weakkhjghfhgjfg

sugarmacbra: So actually im (sort of) writing a fic on this. The only reason it exists is bc i recently found out big mac is canonically bi and polyamorous (at least according to his VA), and im a sucker for a good polycule. That added with sugarmac (which i adore) and the fact that King Sombra is literally also bi, i was like, hey, what if we combined these elements, right?? Anyways, im not so much a fan of the dynamic that exists so far as i am of the idea of big mac in the most bisexual polycule ever, but who knows? maybe ill continue the fic and create the most life-changing heart-wrenching three-way pony love story

Cadance x Shining Armor x King Sombra (their ship names suck😭): Speaking of polycules, this one has a lot of potential. Sure, shining Armor is the straightest guy alive, but if we could pretend hes bisexual for a minute, i think him and Sombra in particular could have a LOT of chemistry. Plus given how hes basically smitten w his wife, i love the idea of him being in love w BOTH of them, like, more love for the golden retriever himbo !! Ik its not a super fleshed out especially on cadance's end, but the potential is there. Also, this ship has nothing to do w *that* ao3 fic (and if u dont know what im talking about i promise u dont need to see it. its gross).

somburn: I think we can all agree on braeburn giving massive fruit vibes, plus his overall personality. I was actually really inspired by this one post. I kind of need this to be real now. I love the idea of this evil fuckin guy having a sweet spot for plain ol Braeburn, who in contrast chooses not to see sombra as an evil threat but instead a smexy hot hunk. And to top it off, he "tames" Sombra/Sombra sort of changes for the better to be w him? Honestly its so cute.

FANTASTIC writing, villain Leo au with heart pounding scenes that leave me dizzy. A fic has never made me breathless and needing to pace around my room more than this one (special shoutout to her sister as well who is writing a mutant mayhem fic that unfortunately didn’t get added to the list but is still super well written!!) 3. Anytime You Need Me by thirteenbullets. I really don’t need to elaborate more. Character analysis + fluff + non sexual intimacy + long fics… it’s the perfect series for me. I felt like a stuck gold when i read this. (COD)

4. The Eldest Brother by dEBB987. Classic 2012 x 2018 crossover, but it doesn’t have ooc and is just such. A. Fun. Read. Made me giggle and kick my legs more than one occasion and good family feels all around. (TMNT)

5. Mutant Ninja Midlife Crisis by a_platypus. Old Leo comes back to the past after the events of the movie to readjust to new life. The right amount of drama with the perfect amount of slice of life. This fic actually gives the old turtle a break but also not letting go of the teenage angst and everything that comes with seeing your dead friends young and alive again. Would have been higher on the list but it’s not completed sadly. The author does write for COD as well though, and it’s worth to check it out! (ROTTMNT)

The drunk soap one and the Ghoap one where they’re on stakeout together. I didn’t like the second one initially, but i think slaving over it worked. I love how I managed to balance the quietness and mutual respect and fondness of each other.

This update is helping me develop my lore for how the flow of life works in the snow queen domain and honestly I’m excited

It’s kind of settled for me I want frost queen and fire spirits areas to be sort of parallels

Both of them have that sort of thing of, cookies die and their life essence goes into the land to make elemental creatures. Though what happens after that differs

For the dragons valley, it’s a self fulfilling cycle. When a cookie dies in the valley their life essence gets added to the valleys reserves, and these sprites can merge to become bigger and more powerful beings, sometimes even dragons, who can leave the valley and die elsewhere. And maybe that spreads life essence around like some bumble bee thing idk I still am trying to get a grip on how the flow of life works in the kingdom universe, but that works for my au atm.

Meanwhile in the frost queen area (idk what the snowy area is called) what matters is if w cookie is born there, cookies born in this area have a chance of getting that frost sickness, and as we’ve seen with sherbet they die and their life essence goes into creating frost spirits and snow creatures. Though things are a bit looser here, In some cases the cookie can become an elemental and not loose their memories, in some cases a cookie outside of this domain can be given a second chance by the snow. And when frost creatures die their life essence goes back into the cookies born here, and it’s more of a give and take. In some rare cases cookies have survived the illness but gotten ice magic because of it, but that’s uncommon at best. Point is the snow is mailable, and frost queens job is to make sure that things stay balanced, she can grant wiggle room if there is any, and if things get off balance she can use the flow of life to readjust the scale. But it’s an issue when thr flow itself is being stolen and that’s why dark enchantress is a problem.

I’m not totaly against the idea that the elemental rebirth thing only happens in the snow place, but it’d make it stand out that only the frost area does the reborn thing.

Other elemental areas have their own versions but are uncommon to rare (ie fire spirits ascension, wind archers creation, that sort of thing)

Plus icicle yeti is a healer! Idk what connections are being made but there sure are!!

Uh related thoughts on other elemental flow of life stuff.

Im going to wait till kingdom gives us wind archer or millennial tree before deciding how the Life cycle works for the forest domain, I got nothing in mind so I’m open to see what I’m given and going from there.

Millennial tree is still proficient in all magic, he’s kind of like the head of the flow of life, wouldn’t be surprised if he started it all those eons ago. So if frost queen is a manager Mille Is like the head manager or something idk. Though he’s not super attentive to it since the other elementals got it covered.

Sea fairys flow of life had to adapt without her when her curse froze her for decades. And when she woke up it became self sufficient, so she can just sorta leave it alone. The only duty she’d need to be directly involved in is the ritual giving gem mermaids their power, but since abyss monarch isn’t creating any new gem mermaids (they’re going through a character arc about stuff) she’s just not needed. I think she’d be open to doing that again but isn’t about to push abyss monarch into starting up gem mermaids creation. Same with heart of the deep sea, basically sea fairy is retired and honestly good for her.

Sugar swan I’ve been thinking about, I’m making them millennial tree’s wife in this au and since she’s like the head of the seasons she probably has a more broad thing on thr flow of life? Like seasons will change on their on without her intervention, (except in the dessert paradise, it’s very reliant on her presence or lack there of) but she makes sure things are running smooth. Winter is lasting too long here? She will cut it off so spring can roll in. Summer is too short here? She will extend it briefly so things can settle over for the next season. She basically makes sure nothing goes completely out of sync. I like to think it’s magic is powerful in its own right in comparison to millennial tree. Because they deserve it.

Moonlight governs dream magic which idk if it has a flow of life exactly but maybe it’s more, dream magic is Inherently linked to the flow of life because only living beings can dream? Idk at the very least she helps out because she’s nice like that. At most dream magic is connected to it so like if thr dream world is getting funky check the flow of life because something might be off. I’ll admit this one is a bit flimsy atm I’m going to brainstorm on that one a bit

4. Reita Toritsuka (1.75/4)

Sorry tori. I need a reference for his hair pretty much everytime I draw him, which to be fair is so far like 4 times in total. Honestly I have a love-hate relationship with his headband because on the one hand, it's kinda iconic, on the other it's fucking horrendous I'm sorry.

Moving on from the hair, the most fun I have with drawing him would be his uniform (I like the rosary beads and Geta) and his face since he's an expressive character so I get to do a lot of fun stuff with that ( this technically does not count since it's not a part of the design but his points are already kinda low, I felt generous).

Lastly, no, I don't really have many "creative" ideas with him, I had maybe 3 but I never really felt passionate enough to finish them I'm sorry.

2. Mikoto Aiura (2/4)

This feels way too low but I can't really break the rules.

I do need to use references to draw her everytime I do ( which I think is...1 time? That is criminally low what the fuck am I doing) mainly due to her hair, speaking of which, I LOVE HER HAIR I LOVE HER NAILS I LOVE HER EYES I LOVE HER!!!! She is so fun to draw and it's so fucking nice to have a character with some fucking MELANIN OMG HER SKIN I AJDBDJ SHADING TANNED/DARK SKIN IS SO FUN WHY DONT I DO IT MORE OFTEN. This doesn't count since it's supposed to be about their canon design but there are so many outfits you can put her in it's crazy!!! I think it's mainly because she's kinda the only one with an aesthetic idk.

He scored 0.5 on everything... How!??? Last I checked he is not Satoru Hiroshi.

Main reason I need a reference is due to the hair which for the most part is a bunch of zig zags and so I don't need it that often.

He is fun to draw, mainly his eyes they are very pretty. I do want to draw him often, I doodle him a lot. I think it's the limiters and glasses. I don't have to worry about him looking accurate cuz if you throw the limiters and glasses on it immediately looks like saiki so Im not that scared about drawing him.

Fun fact a lot of times when I'm drawing him he ends up looking like Kuboyasu. Until I put limiters on. Then all of a sudden it's saiki! Amazing! Chouno Uryoku who?

I guess I'm somewhat creative with him? I have a few ideas laying around, one or two animatics, maybe a fic and a couple crossover fanart ideas. Dunno if I'll ever get around to doing it though.

No I do not need a reference I drew him once and then his hair and face were ingrained into my long term memory for eternity in fact i remember it so well I subconsciously gave it to an OC.

Is he fun to draw? FUCK YEAH HE IS. Hair was the problem for all the other characters but not this one, no sir! because THIS MOTHERFUCKER HAS THE HAIR THAT GIVES ME GENDER EUPHORIA. It was my first 'boy' hair cut and I love how androgynous it made me look so looking at him gives me pure joy. And his eyes GOD I LOVE HIS BIG PURPLE EYES SJDIEBD.

I used to want to draw him all the time but I've drawn him too frequently so I need to take a small (miniscule really) break so I can continue liking it. Maybe that'll give me time to draw more Aiura. Anyways I gave him 0.75 on that part but that's entirely my fault for over drawing him. He did no wrong I take the blame.

Can I be creative with him? No not really since just drawing him covered in blood and/or eating sweets does not count as creative in this criteria. But I do have many ideas of just putting him in other universes and meeting my other favs and then the two of them ramble about an interest of choice and are just get to talk talk talk and talk I love them I love their yapping onjdhdiehd and I have a couple of animatic ideas I may never finish. masterlist an: ok i will not lie i wrote this in 3 hours getting progressively wine drunker but honestly im rlly happy with it so. letting her fly out into the world.

For only the second time in his entire career as a commissioned officer of the Rebellion, Cassian has a paid day off. He’s not quite sure what to do with himself.

The only idea he had was turning off his alarm last night, which he did, but his strict body-clock refused to let him sleep in. 

So he got up at 0800 and tried to relish the relaxed pace at which he walked to get to the mess hall. It’s coming out of the rainy season on Yavin 4, so Cassian stood in the clearing just outside of the temple that serves as headquarters and tilted his face up for a couple seconds to feel the sun. 

He actually sat down for breakfast and ate the hot food option instead of his usual ration bar. 

Then he checked his datapad, on which there was nothing new or interesting. 

Which brings him to now, at around 1100.

Cassian has become a task-based creature, so a day off is not really what he needs; especially when he has nowhere else he really wants or needs to be other than here. 

He thinks he might go back to sleep, or try, at least. So, he makes a purposeful turn halfway through his aimless walk down a random corridor and starts to make his way back to his room.

But then when he looks down to check the time for the first time this morning, he sees the date on his chrono, and everything comes to halt. 

Suddenly, he’s back standing on a beach in Niamos, watching the horizon as the sun sets. He remembers even the minute details from that moment. The flapping of his pants against his legs in the wind. The near silence of the waves that came in to shore. Xanwan’s modulated voice coming through the public phone.

Cass, I’m sorry. Your mother’s dead.

He remembers Melshi asking if he got through, and saying very calmly, although he was falling to pieces, “Everything okay.”

Cassian has known loss since he was a child. He knows how it clings, how it hits like a punch to the gut at the strangest of times.

He naively thought that it would get easier, a year, two years after Maarva’s death. He doesn’t quite know why. His natural parents’ death never got easier. Neither did Clem’s. Neither has the loss of Kerri, wherever she is now.

But he had hoped, against everything, that it might be different with Maarva.

That’s just love. Nothing you can do about that.

Cassian feels a little like his chest is about to explode with pressure of everything in it. He wants to stop one of the many people walking past him in this corridor. Someone shouts near his ear at someone running past, and he wants to shake them, tell them, explain it. Everything he wishes he could have done.

My mother died two years and a few days ago, and I found out two years ago today. I didn’t find out till a couple days after she died because I was in prison for something I didn’t do. I argued with her the last time I saw her, and she said it was alright, but it’s not. It’s not.

Melshi is on a mission today. Anyone else here that he’s known for that long, he doesn’t want to tell.

He takes one step, and then another. His mind feels vacant like he’s underwater, or like a vacuum has taken all the air, and therefore the sound, out of the galaxy.

So he walks and doesn’t think for a couple minutes, and when he comes back to himself, he’s standing in the upper hangar.

He presses his hands over his face, scrubs his forehead with his hands. He squeezes his eyes shut and only just suppresses the urge to slap his own cheek a couple times.

He opens his eyes and the first thing that he sees is you.

You’re doing some tune-ups on the T-65B’s. There’s an astromech he hasn’t seen before milling around the same X-wing you’re working on, and it chirps at you as you both work.

He can hear faint music coming from the little radio at your feet.

He watches with rapt attention as you make funny movements with your shoulders in time with the music. He feels his face go warm when you start to move your hips in time. You chuckle at something the astromech says, and he finds himself walking over to you.

As a rule, Cassian doesn’t seek out other people for help. It’s just not in his nature to have that kind of vulnerability.

But he trusts you, now. He’s pretty sure it’s been a little over a year since you got here. You’ve only ever been kind and warm and bright to him.

“Hey,” he says as he nears you before he can talk himself out of it.

You turn and see him, and your familiar glowing smile takes over your face. “Cassian!”

You hurriedly dump several tools in the toolbox at your feet and reach out your hand, which lands on his upper arm. You give it a gentle squeeze as you respond, “Hi! What’s up?”

Cassian is so fragile right now that he almost melts at the feeling. He lets out the deepest sigh of his life, and your eyebrows furrow.

Suddenly, he doesn’t want to tell you, and this all feels stupid, and he should have gone back to sleep or opened his stash of spotchka or really anything but this.

You scan his face worriedly. “Cass?”

His throat has closed up and he is at a complete loss for what to say. He sort of wants to turn and run.

You, warm and attentive as always, know intuitively how to help. You take his arm and sling your other one around his shoulders and walk to the corner of the hangar. You sit him down so he's leaning against the wall, and then you sit down next to him.

You smooth his hair that is sitting haphazardly across his forehead. You take his hand and stroke it with your thumb very softly and slowly.

Stars, how he wants you.

Not sexually; not in the state he’s in.

But he wants your touch every day. All day. He wants to hold your hand for hours. He wants the warmth of your smile the second he wakes up and he wants to bask in it until he falls asleep. He wants your laugh to echo in every space he occupies, not because it’s haunting him, but because you’re always walking in tandem. He wants it to be his responsibility to take care of you. He wants you to take care of him, too, which is very new for him.

He looks at your joined hands, and then at your dear, concerned face.

“You don’t have to tell me. We can just sit here.”

Cassian feels a rush of affection for you so deep that he almost forgets why he came here in the first place. 

But then a minute or two passes in silence, and the hollowness in his chest comes back, so he takes a breath and opens his mouth to speak. 

“My mother died a couple years ago.”

You breathe in a little sharply, and he can hear the sorrow in it.

“I- hm. I found out she died two years ago today. She’d already been dead for a few days. They couldn’t reach me to tell me.”

“Oh, Cassian.”

He can’t look at you, doesn’t want to see whatever heart-shattering, empathetic expression is on your open face, so he stares at the ground. In truth, he doesn’t know where to start. He could stay here for three hours and talk about Maarva and only get through the first couple years of their life together.  

He doesn’t know, but you’re waiting, and he trusts you enough to listen to whatever he ends up saying. 

“Her name was Maarva. Maarva Carassi Andor. She… I- She saved my life.” 

He stops. You squeeze his hand in support. 

“I was born on Kenari. It’s a Mid Rim planet that the Empire took over for mining projects. It’s toxic, now. Too many accidents. My sister and I… Our parents were killed early on.”

He tells you the story of the ship that crashed. He tells you about the leader of his little orphan community being killed. He tells you about creeping into the ship, about destroying the control panels in childish rage.

“How old were you?” You ask, when he pauses. 

“Maybe ten?” 

You gasp softly, and he looks at you. Your eyes are shining with what look like unshed tears. He clears his throat. “And your sister?” 

“Around five.” 

You put your other hand around the one of his you’re already holding. “Stars, Cassian.”

He remembers not hearing the sound of anyone in the ship until he saw a movement in the reflective panels in front of him. He tells you as much. He tells you about turning around and seeing Maarva and Clem, being terrified. The struggle and being tranquilised. Waking up on their ship without his sister, the sun in his eyes. 

“They raised me on Ferrix. I didn’t speak the language, so I lashed out. I learnt Basic, but got into fights at school, I didn’t have friends at first. I made their lives so difficult. But they loved me.”

You stare at this man you’ve known for a year now. You’ve seen him tired, or high off adrenaline at the end of a mission, you’ve seen him care for his squadron and stay by their sides in the medcenter. You’ve seen him smile, wide and carefree, maybe three times. You’ve seen him barely containing his rage. 

You’ve seen him in a hundred different states, but not this one.

The thought that this almost unfailingly stern man contains this much love and pain is half unimaginable and half the only answer to the questions you’ve always had about his nature. 

He tells you about this amazing woman, his mother. Her wit, her generosity and care, her faith. Her patience in teaching him to use a comm, a datapad. The way she’d fume and fuss after a tedious meeting with the Daughters of Ferrix when she was president. 

How, when she got older, she wouldn’t turn the heater on. How cold she was when he’d come home after days away. Despite her frailty, the way she always had a fierce love and protection of this son of hers. 

He mentions the money they stole, his plan to go somewhere warmer with her, his leaving without her after their argument. He stops for a little, then starts again. 

“I got told over the phone that she’d died. I was … I couldn’t get back to Ferrix fast enough to see her. They’d put her ashes in brick by the time I got back. And then I missed her funeral because the Empire was torturing my friend and I had to get her out, and-” 

.

His throat is burning from holding back tears. “Another friend repeated what she said to tell me before she died.”

He tells you what she said. He doesn’t know why. He didn’t plan any of this. 

Tell him he knows everything he needs to know, and feels everything he needs to feel. And when the day comes and those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good.

Tell him I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong. 

He trails off. He feels less like something is trying to pry its way out of his chest, and more like he might be able to breathe again. 

There is a minute or so of silence. You’re still stroking his hand. 

“She’d be so proud of you.” 

Cassian huffs, a bitter smile on his face. 

You remove one of your hands from his and place it on his cheek, turning his face toward you. 

“Cassian Andor, listen to me.” 

His mouth falls open a little in awe of your fervent expression. 

“Your mother would be incredibly proud to see you where you are now. You experienced incredible pain and loss, and you didn’t let it consume you. You risk your life every day to fight against a ridiculously powerful and remorseless system. You care so deeply for everyone - your squad, complete strangers, K-2, even me.” 

“Of course I care about you.” 

You stroke his cheek with your thumb once, as you chuckle. “Nice try. This isn’t about me.” 

Your hand drops from his face, and he resists the urge to pick it up and place it back. 

“You are an unstoppable force for good. You…I…You are the most incredible person I know,” You say almost painfully earnestly.

Painful only because Cassian wants to lean in and kiss you breathless, but doesn’t think it’s the time. 

Cassian closes his eyes to imprint that moment in his memory for the rest of his life. He hears a ship take off outside, hears the faint buzz of your music that’s still playing nearby. 

“Cassian?”

“Yeah?” 

“Thank you for sharing that with me. Your childhood, her memory.” 

Your faces are quite close, now. Cassian can’t avoid looking down at your lips for a second. It feels like his skin is about to jump off him, or like he’s been electrocuted. You bite your bottom lip contemplatively for a second, and he’s about to lean in, but there is an announcement over the speaker in the hanger, and it makes you both jump.

You both laugh a little at the change in the energy of the moment. Then there is a lull, in which you look like you’re preparing for something. You let go of his hand, take both of yours and cup his face. Then you move his head down just a little, and gently touch your foreheads together. 

“It’s an honour to know you, Cassian.” 

“Kassa.” 

“Hm?” 

“My name.”

pidge: aroace and agender, literally a chronically online cosplayer tech nerd, probably has been cancelled multiple times to the point where matthew had to take every piece of tech they had in the house, has doxxed people before, obsessed with vocaloid and anime, wants to get piercings really bad but their parents wont let them, uses any pronouns and if you ask for their gender they will change their answer everytime or answer with something silly like "the void", their favorite person is Hunk but beyond that prefers robots and tech as their companions, keith is their favorite victim of pranks (save him), the only one who isnt scared of keith even a little bit, evil scientist coded, too smart for their own good, not very socially smart and misses social cues but doesnt really care, very picky about the food they consume, iconic 13-14 year old who is a bit too excited at the prospect of having an excuse to build weapons

this is the question that made me sit on this ask since september cos idfk lmao. (im also lowkey shaking sidestep WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS WAR YOU'VE STARTED THAT YOU'RE ALLUDING TO,,,) while sura IS a tactician and presumably she does have plans like expanding the syndicate? making sure she stays the hell out of the farm's reaches? this is probably where the fate/"all of this just feels inevitable" motive plays in cos honestly? [plankton voice] "i never thought i'd get this far" (in their villain career and like. living wise. lol suitag at it again) is tempering a lot of what she thinks she can achieve. this is not great when you're supposed to be the leader of a budding criminal organisation but! he's doing it anyway!

28. what do they find attractive in others? what’s a turn-off? i think it's assertiveness/confidence? but mainly being able to annoy the shit out of each other/bantering/general sense of humour.

there is a running theme across the various people sura's attracted to that being mutual annoyances to eachother. (well. idk if cigs' rey can really be annoyed back. he's the one being annoying + the outlier out of the four. ortega, chen and geek-o13's cyrus all fit tho)

most of all just being able to be… comfortable with the other person, ig. that used to be ricardo pre-hb but not anymore :/ sura's very annoyed that they're still crushing on him. something something lingering hero-worship feelings + do i want to be him or BE him 🏳️‍🌈. fun fact! in a julia verse sura would be equally smitten with charge. more femme presenting pre-hb for sure and copying the long hair to have braids just like her. and then going completely the opposite direction post-hb to distance itself from her by having its hair short.

31. what is their combat style like? it's a mix! there's definitely a stylish flair to it as argos, but they can change it up on the fly. usually they like baiting opponents with an opening move/getting a feel for the way they react before going in, similar to chen and ortega with a mysterious/functional step during the gala. sura was originally a fighterstep before i flipped them to tactician, but some of that fighty mindset is still there (hopefully reflective of their daring/caution stat being pretty balanced). even though the powersuit exoskeleton lets sura fight more directly, there's still a lot of obfuscation/dodging/momentum redirection still leftover from being sidestep. sura likes being hard to figure out. keep em guessing lol.
