The way Fadel's behaviour towards Style changed this episode has me so hooked. At first, you can almost see him getting slacker around Style - He's actually engaging in conversation more than before, he let him help out at the diner and made him a burger! He seems to have resigned to his fate and just accepted Style as another annoying (and frustratingly hot) factor of daily life. But he's also trying to get rid of him, as always. He threatens Kant to not just back off from Bison but also to get Style to back off from him. He's more brutal than he needs to be in that fight exactly to scare Style off, he's literally breaking that man's arm so pointedly so Style can see and get a hint to fuck off! So he's an annoyance that's mostly well meaning but also ridiculous, to be manged until properly scared away for good.
BUT. It changes with Style showing up at the support group! This episode builds up so well to bring out the weight of the loss it suggests for Fadel. We find out he wanted to quit this life but was left alone by the one he wanted to leave it for. We see him drink quite a bit (not a simple thing for Fadel who clearly wants to be on alert at all times) and remember dancing with a past love. We see him walk into the support group right after. It's obviously hard for him to be there, but he still goes (even though it's risky for a killer who wants to stay low-key to go to yet another social space where they can be recognised), that's how important it is for him. And then Style swings right in, shamelessly making a mockery of everyone present and their loss, including Fadel. Of course Fadel loses any inch of tolerance he has for his bullshit anymore. He's done bearing with this guy and dropping hints. He needs to get him off his back immediately, desperately enough to make the VERY unwise choice of giving him exactly what he wants. And the moment Style shows no sign of fucking off after they hook up, he delivers the final blow (lol). He tolerated everything so far without any violence, even the mess of a kiss after the sauna! But after this? After Style walked into him in the space he's probably the most vulnerable in and made a joke of it? A punch and a knee to the gut are fair game now! Style better watch out, there may be more consequences to his shameless actions than getting drenched!

Not to be a Style apologist, but I feel like some viewers haven't quite picked up that Style's brand of wooing Fadel is quite literally intentionally designed (by both the writers and the character) to be as annoying and frustrating as possible.
Lets consider:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Style thinks his bff is in love for the first time in his life. He thinks Kant is genuinely down bad for Bison: let’s not forget his clear surprise when Kant agreed to give up the car. As far as Style is concerned, Kant is acting really out of character and it's because Kant desperately wants to be with Bison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He also thinks the only thing standing in the way of True Love™ is Fadel, who according to Kant is being unreasonably difficult about Kant and Bison dating. He doesn't know that Kant has a secondary motivation, nor does he know about the mind games that Bison is playing with Kant. Worse, he has no frame of reference or context to make any of Fadel's animosity towards Kant reasonable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moreover, while I think we all agree that Style made a terrible first impression on Fadel, the same has to be said of Fadel towards Style. Like, yes, absolutely Style was in the wrong, but Fadel came off as not only condescending and impatient, but unreasonable (and very weirdly cagey) when Style tried to immediately offer a resolution. Again, Style has no frame of reference for why Fadel would first demand that he take responsibility for his actions and then immediately after claim to have no time to entertain Style's attempt to take said responsibility.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, it doesn't help Style's wounded pride that Fadel keeps 'besting' him at every turn. So at this point I think a significant portion of that initial attraction (in ep 1) has shifted to annoyance when it comes to Fadel. By the time he gets his hands on Fadel's information, I think he's more than a little invested in some payback. While I think Style very much still wants to help Kant (and Bison) out, at least a part of him figures as long as he keeps Fadel busy, he kind of meets his goal. And if he gets to embarrass, frustrate and otherwise harass Fadel along the way, all the better!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see him start to have some fun with it. He ramps it up SO much in ep 2. He gets to lean into that wild, brash, playful personality because he doesn't really care if Fadel likes him. Style gets to be dialled up to extremes, and I love that for him because he's honestly kind of justified because he knows so fucking little about what's really going on. I think it's only fair if the other 3 are playing 4D chess while Style only has the Uno game rules in front of him, he gets to be the most Unhinged about it.
So, yeah, while I absolutely agree with all the posts out there that recognises just how reasonable and polite and tired Fadel is, I do think we need to give Style some credit here. He's absolutely SO extra, but he's also the one, arguably, that has been lied to the most and I feel that he deserves some slack for that.
Tumblr media
I'm so glad he figures out some things in the next episode because my darling boy deserves to at least somewhat even the playing field.

I'm curious about something: Why is it that a shockingly large majority of us are more invested in Fadel and Style's relationship than Kant and Bison's? I'd make a poll, but I'd much rather hear people's longer opinions. I think for me, it's a mixture of things. For instance, even though Style had an ulterior motive for hitting on Fadel, it was less sinister. Not that I blame Kant for having to be a narc, but convincing Bison to fall in love with him was unnecessarily cruel. He could have just been friends with benefits with him. Instead, he's engineered it so that Bison will go to a horrific prison with a broken heart. So there's just a level of subtle coldness on Kant's part. I can't root for them because of how wrong I consider what Kant is doing to Bison. I know Bison is a killer, but he was forced into it and is trying desperately to stop. So honestly, I feel like Bison deserves better than Kant.
Plus it just makes me uncomfortable to watch someone pretend to be into BDSM when they clearly aren't. Also I'd never buy Bison as a Dom in a million years. Which isn't really Khao's fault, he gave off slight Dom vibes in The Eclipse, idk why he hasn't been properly directed to here.
Style, on the other hand, had no idea what he was doing. He didn't know that he was helping condemn Fadel to a prison which entirely disregards human rights. Were his motivations pure? Absolutely not and I very much judge him for it. But it was at least less cold and cruel. And he clearly fell for Fadel and feels awful about helping send him to prison. I strongly suspect that very soon Style is going to plot a way to save Fadel.
Plus they actually are both kinky and super into it and that just does it for me.
Y'all?

Thoughts for Today - Ep. 1-3 of The Heart Killers (BL)
Hey guys. I know, it’s been a fresh minute since I’ve used this blog, well besides for looking at posts without doing some of my own. Trust, I plan to fix that starting today. Don’t expect super frequent posts as I am still in school (cries in final exams) but I do want to be more active here, especially regarding some works I have cooking that I want to share as well as shows I want to rant about. Which brings us to today’s icebreaker, the recent Heart Killers BL series.
And my thoughts so far? I honestly am in love with this series. Might be one of my favorite off all time so far, and that’s saying something coming from a Kinnporsche glazer, rightfully so that series is also incredible. So I’m going to rant about the episodes so far and some other topics I’ve seen floating around the show. So strap in cause I got quite a few things to saw if you’re interested.
EP. 1 - Great start to the series in my opinion. I loved the character intros and all of them are perfect to showing the audience that these are not good people. Extremely morally grey and paints the way to great character development. Makes them more realistic, as people in real life are often morally grey as well, dirty and complex, just like these characters. Brings an element of realism to an otherwise campy and sometimes goofy show about assassins and deceit. Also yes, have to talk about the KantBison scene. Now, I havent watched too much of their work, only pieces from their shows, but from I could see they had great chemistry and it’s on full display here. Their scene was passionate, raw. Another praise to give to the show is how openly sexual it is and I love it. Also loved the dynamics they’ve at that point, Bison being the dreamer, Fadel the reluctant, older brother who does what he thinks is best, Style an annoying but lovable diva, and Kant, a liar who’s doing it for the greater good of his brother. The tension as well between Fadel and Style, chef’s kiss. Can’t wait to see one of them break. Overall, had a great time with the first episode.
EP. 2 - Have to say, the most campy episode so far. But I’m not complaining, Style of course being the reason for this. I got to say, usually I hate characters like this, the overly annoying ones to smother and don’t respect boundaries, so I’m shocked to find that Style is still as lovable to me as ever. I think it’s because of the added subtext that at first, he’s only really doing this for his best friend and his car. So he’s doing it with the benefit of the reward after. It’s messed up and keeps up with the theme of toxicity in this show. And it’s also hilarious to see Fadel have the patience of a saint and put up with his shenanigans. Hell, even giving him money for his products he ‘dumped.’ The tension between the two is great and got even better during the sauna scene. So many thoughts for that, super hot. It showed Fadel being the most giving to Style since they first met, makes sense since that only happens when the two are alone. He leans into his touch almost, closes his eyes and just lets himself feel Style’s hand on him. At least, till Uncle comes in and ruins it. Style basically being the ‘Ricky, when I catch you Ricky’ to him was hilarious. Till we go to the unconsensual kiss. Now, again, makes sense character wise since Style has been described as shameless in his attempts to pursue someone but I like how the show portrays it as something thats still not right. I love that the show isn’t afraid to delve into heavy subjects like this and still manage to portray them in a bad light without romanticizing them like other BL shows. It fits the tone of the series perfectly and I love it. Especially when we got to the end of the episode of Fadel’s fun time to himself. Hot as well, shame we lost a soldier so early. The post nut clarity hitting him hard afterward also made me chuckle out loud. It’s ok, we’ve all have our rough days. The Kant and Bison stuff was also very sweet, Kant paying off his friend to flirt with Bison to make it more convincing to him is a level of dedication I can’t even hate on. Proud of my toxic boy. Love how they’re still learning to trust each other, more Bison to Kant really, showing that he’s not as naive as some might think. Again, had fun with this episode as well as can’t wait for the next.
EP. 3 - Wow, def need to touch some grass after this episode. Here I thought nothing would top the Fadel fun time scene last episode but here we are. Now, there is a lot to say about this episode as got a good amount of info this time. We got introduced to ‘Mother’ who is actually worse than I expected her to be. It’s clear that she doesn’t give a damn about these boys (at least so far), merely using their ‘love’ as a means of manipulation to have the boys blindly follow her orders and take our her enemies. Reminds me of Tony from Pitbabe just gender bent. Showing the outsider brother, sorry I forgot his name at the moment, clearly being set up as a foil for the assassin brothers and I’m interested to see where they take him. Also, lore drop on Fadel? So boy wasn’t just rightfully paranoid, he lost an ex bf in this line of work and poor boy doesn’t want the same happening for his brother. Makes sense since at the beginning of the episode, he covered for Bison and lied about him seeing someone. Another cute brotherly moment besides from the one later one where he tells Bison he’ll help him get out of this so he can have a normal life. I swear, I love these two so much. And of course, more Style annoying Fadel, my favorite pastime. Jk but Fadel being used to it at this point is hilarious. Also loved how Style went to help Fadel and then proceeding to make the boy nervous when he changed into the uniform in the kitchen. Like Style, if only you knew the true effect you had over this boy. Fadel was practically drooling at the mouth looking away from him to stop getting horny. More cute scenes between Kant and Bison but unfortunate when Kant had to report back to Captain who suggests getting into their home instead. Mission failed successfully? (Iykyk). The club scene with Fadel was amazing, Style is right when he says that he’s handsome to be making like that on the side. But when he started imagining he was in fron of Fadel instead of the woman? They’re literally soulmates your honor, two minds think alike. Interesting though that after Fadel saved him from those three after the club, he’s switches on wanting to sleep with him to actually wanting to know more about him. His suspicions opposite to Kant’s, who wants to date Bison for the reason of staying out jail, to Style, who actually wants to know more about Fadel, what makes him tick and to let his walls down. So makes sense when they finally have sex, he’s not enjoying as much as he would’ve before he changed his goal about him. The whole sex scene actually, while still good, feels underwhelming for those two and it should be. Fadel’s doing it because he claims it’ll get Style off him, which lets be fr, he’s dying for that cookie since that last episode, so he feels this is mandatory and not into it as much as he would be if he actually vulnerable with Style. To which Style picks up on. He looks attentive, not as in the moment as one think he would be because he knows Fadel isn’t doing this because he really likes Style but because he feels like he has to. It’s more interesting than it is erotic and I love how the direction for that scene was. And the punch to Style after? Much deserved cause I did not like that whole grief club scene. Maybe to was to further hit home that Style isn’t a good person or maybe this foreshadowing for something, idk. I’m not a fan and it seems I’m not the only one. However, I can’t say the same for the ending of the show. The BDSM scene. Now the show is filled with triggers, stated that very early on, as early as the trailers so this didn’t surprise me too much. The roofing however, was interesting but makes sense since Kant needs to get more evidence at their house. But when the tables flipped, it catches him off guard. Him clearly hesitant and somewhat scared at first but not saying anything cause he’s far in to give up now. But to him starting to melt into and possibly feeling good was another level of spice I welcomed. I have so much more to say but maybe I’ll save that for after the series is over for a full analysis.
Overall, the series is so much fun and entertaining, the level of tension, incoming angst and storytelling is all wonderfully done and it leads me to being excited for the next coming week and how they’re going to redeem this band of morally grey men. That’s what character development is for. If they started out as goody two shoes then the show would be boring. The element of realism in the toxicity and deceit all these characters have is honestly what’s setting up for some amazing drama to come and it boggles my mind that some people are using that reason to drop the show. The show was very clear that it would go into some heavy subject matter and people hating the show on that are the reason we can’t have nice things. I understand not wanting to watch the show due to some of its triggers but calling the show ‘bad’ because of these reasons is absolutely ridiculous. There are other shows who try to go into this subject matter but don’t have the good writing Heart Killers have to pull it off. Sorry for the rant but had to get it off my chest.
All in all, watch the series if you can handle the heavy subject material as it’s definitely worth the watch. And don’t if you don’t! We all have our preferences but don’t hate something when it isn’t finished yet please. Let’s spread love, not hate. But I think I’ve all I wanted to say. Can’t wait till next week cause the show is getting good.
See you all in the next post, my marvels. Bye!

It's honestly insane how rewatchable thk is considering it only has 2 episodes out. But the more I watch, the more I notice. So here's an unnecessarily long rant on whatever pops up in my mind as I rewatch the 2 episodes together (I say as if I didn't watch these 2 episodes separately at least 10 times already). I'll probably divide it into multiple parts because otherwise the post will truly be too long. Anyway let's start.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned this already but Bison's expression when the first target pushes his face to his stomach is so interesting. It's a weird mix of disgust and satisfaction. The disgust coming from, I'm assuming, having a man who supposedly does bad things acting like he can own anyone he wants just because he has the money and power. And honestly, if Bison wasn't a hitman, the man probably could own him. He did pick him from a bunch of other guys like he was shopping for clothes. And for freedom loving Bison, that kind of objectification and show of power must be very suffocating.
The satisfaction is the more interesting part though. Because to me it feels like Bison thrives on having control over others. Yes, the man in his arms is the one with the money and the power. But at this very moment, Bison is the one who can control the trajectory of his life. Being trapped in a life he doesn't want, I think these are the moments when Bison can taste true freedom and control. Because he knows at this moment, the man is in the palm of his hands and playing to Bison's rhythm.
This desire for control bleeds into every relationship Bison has. Although he loves Fadel and cares about him, whenever Fadel is around, it is Fadel who is the one in charge and for good reason too. Bison's overwhelming desire for control does not equal to the ability to handle any situation. Bison is impulsive, rash and reckless, which makes his desire for control all the more dangerous. Fadel is calm, calculating, sensible and responsible. He is capable of handling any situation, no matter how sudden or dangerous. He can calmly assess the situation and decide the best course of action. This is why he is the one in charge during their assassination missions. Because if it were left to Bison, who knows what crazy stunt he would pull. I think Bison himself knows that which is why he doesn't fight for control with Fadel during the missions. Crazy as Bison is, he wants to be free, not rot in jail.
I also find the difference in expressions between Fadel and Bison after they shoot the man very fascinating. Fadel's face has nothing. No emotion whatsoever. I think at this point Fadel really does not feel anything after killing his targets. He has convinced himself that they are enforcing justice by killing, and he bottles up whatever emotions he might have so deep down that it feeels like he doesn't have any emotions at all. Bison, on the other hand, is not emotionless like Fadel. He is also very used to killing people now, but you can detect a hint of that sick satisfaction in Bison's expression after the kill. I genuinely think Bison is the most terrifying of the 4 main cast.
Khaobos doing such a wonderful job of playing Bison. I love him so much.
Special appreciation to the lighting and coloring throughout the show. It adds so much context to the whole scene.
Also the music. The music brings so much nostalgia and character to the whole experience. I have watched these scenes so many times already and I am not sick of the music yet so I take that as a win for the music. But yeah, for me the music makes the whole experience more fun.

Chapter 5: The Coexistence of the Hotheads.
___***___
Jin-woo
Ah, how I’m such a misunderstood genius. There I was, thinking that putting these two hotheads in the same room would be the perfect nudge for them to settle their differences. But honestly, I think I underestimated their stubbornness. They’re like two roosters fighting for the same perch — except the perch, in this case, is a tiny room and their wounded pride.
“Damn it, I thought putting them in the same dorm would solve this crap. But it seems like this ghost has a lot of work to do...” I muttered as I watched the chaos begin.
Fadel
The moment I walked into the room, I already had a mental list of rules I was going to shove in that traitor’s face if he dared act smart here. This was *my* space. The bed by the window? Mine. The bigger wardrobe? Mine. Bathroom? My priority. He could deal with whatever was left.
“Listen here, Hae-jo, let’s make one thing clear. Don’t touch my stuff, don’t use my stuff, don’t even breathe near my stuff. Got it?”
Of course, the idiot didn’t even wait for me to finish before throwing himself onto *my* bed.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” I shouted, feeling my blood boil.
He looked at me with that annoying smirk I hated so much. “What? This bed was closer.”
I raised my fist, ready to punch him again, but held back. “Get up. Now. That bed’s mine, you sleep on the other one.”
He rolled his eyes but got up, only to deliberately bump into the nightstand where I kept Jin-woo’s stuff. A photo fell, and for a second, silence filled the room.
“Watch where you’re going, idiot!” I yelled, picking up the photo and putting it back.
“Relax, Fadel. I didn’t do it on purpose,” he said, but the tone was so fake it was practically dripping with mockery.
Hae-jo
I knew sharing a room with Fadel would be hell, but I didn’t expect him to be so… insufferable. From the moment I walked in, he started barking orders like he owned the place.
“Don’t touch this, don’t mess with that...” Blah, blah, blah. Just because I let him win the fight earlier doesn’t mean he’s going to boss me around here.
When he started with that list of rules, I threw myself on the comfiest bed just to see his reaction. And oh, he didn’t disappoint. He looked like a kettle about to explode.
“Fine, fine, that bed is yours. No need to die over it,” I replied, laughing inside.
I accidentally bumped into the nightstand where he kept Jin-woo’s stuff. A photo fell, and for a second, silence filled the room.
“Watch where you’re going, idiot!” he yelled, picking up the photo and putting it back.
“Relax, Fadel. I didn’t do it on purpose,” I said, feeling terrible when I saw the picture of our friend. A small smile crept onto my face, imagining what he’d be saying if he were here with us, watching our dormitory feud.
But the worst part was when we tried dividing the wardrobe space. “You take half, I take the other half, okay?” I suggested, trying to be reasonable.
“Half? Are you insane? This wardrobe is mine. Take that tiny drawer over there and deal with it,” he snapped, pointing to a space that wouldn’t fit half my clothes.
And the bathroom… Ah, the bathroom was the tipping point.
Jin-woo
I was enjoying watching this soap opera — at least until they started fighting over the bathroom.
“I got here first, so I’ll shower first!” Fadel shouted, holding the door tightly.
“You spent the entire afternoon in there organizing your stuff. Now it’s my turn!” Hae-jo shot back, trying to push the door open.
“I have priority because I’ve lived here longer!” Fadel yelled from inside the bathroom.
“Oh, screw you, Fadel! The world doesn’t revolve around you!”
I shook my head and put my hand on my forehead. My brilliant plan was looking more like a disaster.
“You’re both impossible,” I muttered, invisible and powerless. “You two need therapy, not a shared dorm room.”
The funniest thing is that amidst all the yelling and insults, it was clear they were… communicating. Poorly, of course, but still. Maybe, over time, these two will realize their anger is just a front for the emotional baggage they share.
“Alright, Jin-woo. You got them together. Now all that’s left is for them to stop acting like children. Easy, right?” I murmured, sighing and settling into the corner chair to keep watching the show.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
La Convivencia de los Cabezas Duras.
___""*___
Jin-woo
“Escucha, Hae-jo, vamos a dejar algo claro. No toques mis cosas, no uses mis cosas, ni respires cerca de mis cosas. ¿Entendido?”
Y, oh, no decepcionó.

Yeah I was wondering if that's what's happening with people who are feeling so protective of Kant, because everything you're saying is exactly why he's my least favorite character. Is he an evil person? No, absolutely not. He's in a fucked up situation and being blackmailed by a cop. But he didn't need to convince Bison to fall in love with him to spy on him. He's basically engineering it so that he's going to send Bison into a horrific death trap with a broken heart, which is very cruel. He also didn't need to pull his best friend into the spying without letting him know of the danger beforehand(the cop didn't tell him to do that). And honestly I don't think Style would have agreed to help. He was clearly very frightened when he did find out. I think the only reason he kept going with it after he found out was because he had already started to fall for Fadel and didn't really want to stop being around him(though that's debatable and I'm open to more interpretations about his motivations). So Kant pulled his innocent best friend who clearly has no fighting skills into a highly dangerous situation without letting said best friend know what he was getting himself into. All of that is very not okay.
That being said, First is adorable. He has one of the sweetest smiles I've ever seen. His character in Not Me was hands down my favorite. I loved him so much that I went out and got the bird tattoos his character had(which incidentally looked a lot more real than any of the fake tattoos on Kant 🤦‍♀️). So I can absolutely understand how love of an actor can bleed into whatever character they currently happen to playing.
