sooooo a while ago i watched the magicians and immediately loved it but then the whole thing with julia happened and it triggered me and i stopped watching for a couple days but the curiousity killed me and i liked most of it until the end of season 4.

now i started black sails and i liked it and the same thing happened again. with julia someone told me that it was a one time thing and that her healing process was satisfying to watch in their opinion so i kept watching. with black sails I'm afraid that it not only will happen again but that the narrative won't acknowledge that "good" characters watched it happen and did nothing about it.

i guess i just wanted to ask for your opinion on the whole thing and if it gets better or worse after this episode

oh no!!!!!! i was the exact same way for both of those shows!!!! black sails, especially season 1, leans in hard for that kind of thing and i remember almost quitting the show bc of what happened with max on the beach but idk what part exactly you're at because it does happen more than once in s1 :/

i remember it getting ALOT better in season 2, (again idk what part you're at so i dont want to spoil anything major for you!!) because thats when the narrative finally shifts in focus but ive only seen the show once and i havent finished season 4 yet 😭
