Wait like this isn’t criticism towards you or anything just a thought like why do people always put the shade number of their foundation when giving their routine when people are just going to have to look for their own shade anyways like nobody is just going to go buy the same shade as you just bc you used it right?

hey anon!!!! <3 honestly i just like being weirdly specific??? ever since i was a kid watching michelle phan and nikkitutorials i saw ppl in those makeup tuts say the exact shade they use and i find it interesting. i also like treating my more “organized” less rambly posts like lists and writing it all out. sometimes i just know exactly how i wanna post something and do it that way.

like idk everyone’s routine if they like makeup is different so i guess it makes sense you’d share what shade ur using personally???? like unless ur an influencer makeup guru there’s no incentive to tell ppl what shade ur using so they go and buy it. for me it’s just for fun.

like there’s an appeal in writing something as if ur teaching something step by step???? i think it started w ppl doing makeup tutorials, saying the exact shade they’re using, and ppl following them picking out similar colors from a diff palette and following it.

also i just like hearing what names of shades and eyeshadows ppl are using even if i’m not using it myself. when it comes to makeup i just really like being specific and listing things lol. and maybe there’s like…occasional instances where someone has the exact same skin tone and skin type as you, or u just like the lipstick they use. kinda like how ppl try to find the exact shades of lipstick marilyn monroe and audrey hepburn used to wear.

tldr: i like knowing what other stuff ppl specifically use even if i’m not gonna get it myself and sharing that. i feel the same abt perfume!!!
