“Javi, are you home?” 

You take a step into your dark and too-quiet apartment, looking around for any trace of your boyfriend. You know, despite the fact that you couldn’t get your birthday off, Javi was able to stay home so he’d be here when you got back. But so far, it looks like he might be out. You frown, more curious as to where he might be than upset though. 

You sigh and slip your shoes off, exhausted from the day you had. It seems like you didn’t get a break at all on top of having to stay late. You love your job, but they really don’t give a rat’s ass if it’s your birthday or your last day on earth. If you want to keep up with the competitive pay, you better do what they ask, no matter how many hours of overtime you may be working. 

You’re taking your coat off when you hear a sudden clatter from the kitchen, and then a whispered curse right after. You can’t help the smile that creeps up. This idiot is trying to surprise you. If you had to guess, you’d say he probably just slammed his foot into one of the chairs in the dark.

“Javi?” you try to keep the amusement from breaching your tone. He doesn’t answer, of course, so you make your way to the kitchen. You reach to turn the light on but stop in your tracks at the sight that beholds you.

The entire kitchen is decorated. There are fairy lights hanging on the walls and around the table, ribbons and balloons in your favorite colors spread tastefully throughout the room, lit candles on every surface, and a cute birthday banner hanging on the back wall. And in the middle of it all is Javi, standing next to the table which holds what might be the most beautiful little cake you’ve ever seen. 

“Happy birthday, sweetheart,” he says through his beaming smile. He knows he did good. 

Your eyes start to get misty as you walk toward him and throw your arms around his neck. “Thank you so much, Javi. You didn’t have to do all this.” 

He tuts as he embraces you and presses a kiss to the side of your head. “Of course I didn’t have to, but you deserve it, hermosa. So much.” 

You lean up and press a kiss to his lips, a tear slipping down your cheek as you do so. You hadn’t realized how overwhelmed you’d been all day. Just as you deepen the kiss, Javi groans against your lips and forces himself back. 

“One more thing,” he breathes against your mouth before moving to the fridge. You watch with peaked interest as he swings the door open and pulls out a can of whipped cream. He shuts the door and smiles devilishly as he shakes the can. You open your mouth to ask what the hell that’s for at the same time he pats the table. 

“Hop up, cariño.” 

It’s not until you see the mischievous glint in his eye that you understand what he wants. You immediately feel a throb between your legs. The two of you had talked before about doing something like this, but you hadn’t realized it would be happening so soon. Not that you complain as you quickly follow his instructions and clamber onto the table. 

He smirks wildly at you as he pops the top off of the can and rucks your skirt up. You sit up and allow him to bunch it around your waist. A small shriek escapes your lips as Javi brings your panties down as well, leaving you bare for him.

no don't worry, you haven't missed anything. considering this is aziraphale's first time mustering up the courage to ask if crowley even has a job, he hasn't dared ask too many personal questions yet. we find out in ch5 🥰

i'm aware there are some details missing that might cause pauses and confusion (especially when it's slow releases like this; it might be a little less jarring to someone who binges it once it's finished), but i do quite like the reality of filtering in little bits of information slowly over time, and letting a whole picture fall into place after a few chapters.

like when you're talking to mates over DM, you'll refer to old conversations and jokes because you both know what's going on, and you aren't going to give full exposition before everything you say. having their conversation be a little gappy like that makes it feel (imo) like we're actually reading through somebody's chat logs, and learning about those people as we go. it's part of what makes the genre fun to me 🥰

Important update regarding 'Chapter 29'

FANON FanFic: Buddie Multi-Chapter - Hiatus Reading: “I’m still in love with you but... I needed to learn how to love myself too!”

The good news is the chapter is huge because there’s a lot happening with the Diaz family. 🎆🥂

The even better news is Chapter 29 was getting so big, I had to divide it into two chapters, i.e., chapters 29 and 30. 🥳😁🤗

Here’s the 4-1-1: On Sunday, June 23rd, I posted a Several Sentences Sunday and I indicated it would be the final snippet from Chapter 29. Even though that was my original plan and I was adamant about sticking to it, my plans changed as I continued to write the chapter.  On Monday, I realized in order to do the chapter justice, there was no way I could reasonably fit everything into 80K words or less.  Therefore, I took yesterday to reevaluate and I decided to divide it into two separate chapters.  It was a great decision but it wasn’t the first time I’ve done it within this multi-chapter fic.  I did it with Chapter 22 because it was huge and I didn’t know until I got ready to post it in AO3 that the site wouldn’t let me upload that many words in one chapter.  So, Buck and Eddie’s marriage ceremony and the time the Diazes spent in Italy was divided into two chapters, 22 and 23.  Since Chapter 29 is larger than Chapter 22 was before I divided it, I knew I couldn’t continue writing it until I made that crucial decision.

Please understand I love writing and I love all the fics I’ve written but for many reasons, this one is special to me.  Mainly because Buck, Eddie and Chris as well as the other main characters are growing and I can see how far they’ve come when I go back and review previous chapters.  I’m allowing the writing and the narrative to go where they’re organically going to go and for me, it’s the best way to write.  Two of my biggest pet peeves with CANON is lots of things happen off-screen and there’s not enough time in each episode for everything to be included.  I know they have 43 to 45 minutes but I like to see things happen and it’s the same way when I’m reading.  I’m still pissed we didn’t get to see Buck and Eddie sing karaoke but I digress because if I go there, we’ll be here all day.  I like to see and read everything so I won’t have to do mental gymnastics in order to figure out where or what the show or a writer wants me to know but that’s just me. 😜

I’ve posted about the way I worry over the size of the chapters in several of the notes sections and this time was no different because I literally had to stop stressing over how large Chapter 29 had become. I fully understand multi-chapter fics aren’t every reader’s cup of tea but I love long fics and not only do I write them; I read them too.  One shots are great and I’ve written some but I usually end up turning them into a series because I believe there’s even more story to be told.  When I started writing this fic more than a year ago, my initial plan was for it to be 12 chapters but by the time I got to Chapter 6, I changed it to undecided then after I posted Chapter 11, I decided the final number would be 30.  After I wrote Chapter 25, I took a few days to reevaluate where I wanted Buck’s, Eddie’s and Chris’ storylines to go and I knew I wouldn’t be able to fit it all into the remaining five chapters, therefore I increased it to 40.  The good thing about that is I incorporated 2 additional chapters in the count so my plan is to still complete this fic within 40 chapters.

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who’s read and commented on this fic on AO3 (I read and respond to every comment) and to those who’ve reblogged posts about it on Tumblr.  I really appreciate all of you and I know writing more than 1 million words for a fic is a lot but I love this fic, I’m going to see it through to the end and I’m going to continue to let the writing do what it does.

Since I’m planning to post both Chapters 29 and 30 no later than this weekend, I’ve included one more snippet below and I hope everyone enjoys reading it.

Here’s a snippet from one of Buck and Eddie’s conversations they’re having while they’re lying in bed and it’s emotionally angsty.

“Babe, you know how much I care about Bobby and my relationship with him, right?”

“Of course I do.  He’s been there for all of us but for you it’s different because he’s not just your captain, he’s also a father to you and you’re his son.  It’s been like that for years.”

“Exactly and him being my captain, mentor, friend and father figure has been great but the truth is… I don’t think he believes I can lead.  I didn’t tell you this but when I was trying to get him to notice me so he could see how good I am at being a firefighter…”  He trails off because he’s not sure if he should even mention it.

Eddie raises his eyebrows but he doesn’t interrupt, he just patiently waits for him to continue.

Since Buck’s not sure where his career will end up whenever Frank releases him to return to work and he’ll have to discuss what he’s thinking tomorrow when he meets with Captain Mehta, he decides to just say it.  “He told me I didn’t have enough life experience but I think my personal life shouldn’t matter.”

“I agree, it shouldn’t but did he say anything else?”

“No… well yeah but it was all about taking inventory of my life so I—I can be at ease but I still don’t know what that has to do with me being fire captain.”

Eddie gently squeezes his hand because he can tell his husband is getting upset.  He inhales then says, “Amore mio… a lot about your life has changed since then and it’s unclear why Bobby said those things without elaborating but I do have some ideas about why he didn’t… which we’ll discuss in a minute but let me ask you a question.  Last April, during your performance review, did you ask him about it?”

“No… I didn’t because he listed my PT scores as outstanding when they weren’t.  Then he um… reminded me that I died and I told him I needed to be held to the same standard as everyone else.  I wanted to talk to him then but it didn’t seem like the right time and I still want to talk to him but I don’t think he’ll be objective and it’s the reason why I believe it’s time for me to consider transferring out of the 118… again but it’s different this time and it’s the reason why I want to talk to Captain Mehta since I’m thinking about applying to work at another firehouse.”

Eddie’s eyes widen because he’s in shock but he recovers quickly.  “Let’s talk this through because you told me you want to be captain one day and not just any captain, you said you want to be captain of the 118.  I know you’re not ready to go back to work and you know I’ll fully support your decision if you decide not to but amore mio… how do you feel about being fire captain now that it’s possible Frank could be releasing you from therapy soon?  I’m asking because being captain is your dream.”

“I—I’m not sure but I have been thinking it might be time to give up on my dream since things have changed and if I decide to return um… it’s likely everyone on A-shift will be moving on to other things but where’s that going to leave me?”  He admits with a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders.

“My love… you know I’ll support you no matter what you decide but I have to be honest, I’m worried”.

“Why?”

“Because being captain of the 118 is your dream and you’ve always been Bobby’s protégé.”

“Yeah, I thought so too but it’s different now because Bobby has already picked the person he wants to take his place but he’s never even considered me.”  He pauses for a few seconds then continues.  “It’s not important anyway because I can work out of any firehouse in Los Angeles”.

He frowns and replies, “Buck?!  Your dream is important and it matters.  In September, you told me being captain of the 118 is something you’ve been wanting for a long time so… talk to me.  If you don’t want it anymore I’ll understand but if you do… you know I’ll be here with you every step of the way.”

“Babe, I know you will but the fact is I’ve been on medical leave for more than five months and I—I was on paid administrative restrictions and paid administrative leave several weeks before that.  A lot’s happened over the years and I don’t know if Bobby will ever be able to see past the stuff I did.”

“But Buck…”

He whispers, “It’s ok.  I’ve made a lot of mistakes as a firefighter and I don’t know if I can come back from them.  I’ve disobeyed orders more times than I can count, I filed a lawsuit against the city and a lot of other things that I can’t change.  It’s where I am now so maybe it’s time for me to consider other options.”

Fic Summary: Months after Buck and Eddie were hit by the same lightning strike; they’re still struggling with the aftermath of it.  But before they make their love confessions, they’ll spend time getting to know themselves as individuals first. Eddie learns to enjoy the simple things in life as he participates in activities on his own and with new friends while Buck learns the rest of the 31-year-old deep dark family secret about his conception and birth. Their journey to forever is still a work in progress but once they finally admit they’re in love with each other, everything that follows their love confessions will be cataclysmic.

Chapter Summaries

Chapter 1 - Eddie makes a new friend while Buck receives devastating news regarding the sperm donation he made for Connor and Kameron.

Chapter 2 - Buck does a lot of research to learn more about the abnormalities found in his red blood cells and Eddie starts a new therapy journey that’s all about him and not the traumas he’s experienced.

Chapter 3 - After more than a month, Buck and Eddie finally spend time together outside of work but it doesn’t end well and they part with a lot of uncertainty regarding their places in each other’s lives.

Chapter 4 - Eddie has a few realizations about his life which causes him to consider moving back to El Paso, TX while Buck continues to be reminded of his past which causes him to take an impromptu road trip across America.

Chapter 5 - Both Buck and Eddie have difficult conversations with their parents and Buck finally learns the truth behind the reason why his mother despised him while Eddie finally tells his mother about the way she tries to control him.

Chapter 6 - More than two weeks after Buck pushed Eddie away after suggesting they needed a break; Eddie decides to try again. Eddie’s there for Buck when he’s at his worst just like Buck was there for him when he was at his worst and he won’t let Buck give up.

Chapter 7 - After Buck’s mental breakdown, Eddie has his back the same way Buck had his when he had his own breakdown more than a year ago.  They share several vulnerable and emotionally intimate moments with one another and they begin to realize their small, sweet and caring gestures matter just as much if not more than any grand gesture ever could because these are the foundations of a long-lasting love relationship.

Chapter 8 - Buck, Eddie and Chris all have their own therapists and during their sessions, they reflect on their pasts while they’re in the present so they can prepare for their future together as a family.

Chapter 9 - Buck and Eddie are there for each other when Buck has to testify as a witness during the trial.  But by the end of it, they’ll both realize their individual and shared traumas are going to keep resurfacing until they talk about them, deal with the fact that they’re in love with one another and face the fact that they can’t live without each other.

Chapter 10 - As Buck and Eddie finally begin to confront their past traumas, they realize how much they need each other to fill in the gaps of their memories.  Additionally, the universe screams at them for what appears to be the one hundredth time so Buck can realize he doesn’t have to ‘find it’ because he already ‘made it’ and Eddie’s reminded tomorrow isn’t promised and he doesn’t have to die alone if he doesn’t want to.

Chapter 11 - A “virga” or dry thunderstorm is in the forecast but once the rain starts, the thunderstorm happening outside won’t be able to match the storm brewing inside between Buck and Eddie.  It’s the universe’s final scream and when the tumultuous winds begin to blow, they’ll have one last chance to hold onto everything they’ve built over the last six years or they’ll lose it all forever.

Chapter 12 - Buck and Eddie have always shared a deep physical attraction and an emotional intimacy that’s unmatched but now that they’re in a relationship, they’re learning how to navigate the romantic intimacy they’ve been waiting for six years to explore. The love they have for each other is a once in a lifetime, soulmate, love of their lives type of love that transcends space and time.

Chapter 13 - While navigating the newness of their romantic relationship, Buck and Eddie take advantage of every moment they spend together. As their individual lives, people from their pasts, time constraints and the possibility of losing each other again make attempts to interrupt and interfere with their journey to forever, they love, care for, support and hold onto each other even tighter to withstand it all.

Chapter 14 - Buck and Eddie can see the lights at the end of the tunnels regarding the results of Buck’s Cancer Screening along with everything else they’re dealing with. But are the lights they see exits to the tunnels or are they headlights on different runaway trains that are speeding towards them in an effort to interrupt their forever?

Chapter 15 - Buck and Eddie have known they were exactly who the other one wanted in a partner since they met six years ago when they agreed to have each other’s backs. They’re in a romantic relationship, they’re both preparing to ask the other one to spend forever with them and by the end of the seventh week into their relationship, together they will plan their most important and greatest adventure for their future.

Chapter 16 - As Buck and Eddie begin to prepare for their marriage ceremony that will take place in Rome, Italy in December 2023, they start planning their first international adventure as a romantic couple. Even though Chris is still the only person they’ve told about their relationship, several people who know them have already witnessed the love they share and as the days continue, others will witness it too.

Chapter 17 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to departing Los Angeles for their international adventure, a moment in time will remind them; life is fragile, tomorrow isn’t promised and every second of everyday should be cherished because everything can change in an instant. The result of that realization will cause them to hold onto each other even more.

Chapter 18 - As Buck, Eddie and Chris prepare for family gatherings before and during the Thanksgiving holiday, the “Santa Ana Winds” start to blow and all sorts of expected and unexpected familial drama ensues.

Chapter 19 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to their wedding day, the universe begins to align everything so that some of their parent and children's relationships are strengthened while others come to an abrupt end.

Chapter 20 - With only 14 days remaining until Buck, Eddie and Chris depart Los Angeles, CA traveling to Rome, Italy, for their first family adventure, an early morning conversation about “tying up loose ends” helps Buck and Eddie realize there are still several things left unfinished on their ‘To Do’ lists. The question is will there be enough time to complete all of them?

Chapter 21 - Buck, Eddie and Chris are finalizing their ‘To Do’ Lists, double checking their itineraries and packing their suitcases in preparation for their trip to Europe so they can board their flight that departs Los Angeles, CA on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 3:25PM.

Chapter 22 - While Buck, Eddie and Chris spend the first 8 days of their European family adventure in Italy, their primary reason for going will be fulfilled as well as several others they hadn’t considered or anticipated.

Chapter 23 - As the Diaz Family continues their Italian family adventure, they’ll say, “Ciao” or hello and goodbye to a lot of things almost immediately after they become an official and legal family.

Chapter 24 - After Buck, Eddie and Chris arrive in London, England on December 24th; the Diazes immediately start preparing to spend their first family Christmas together. During their stay, each of them will hear a few choice words that will be the life raft to get them home to complete their searches to be seen and to be found.

Chapter 25 - After spending more than two weeks in Europe, Eddie, Buck and Chris are back in Los Angeles and they’re getting ready to attend Maddie and Chimney’s New Year’s Eve party. During the event, they have plans to make two surprise announcements but the question is, who’s really going to be surprised, the Diaz family or their found family at the 118?

Chapter 26 - Buck and Eddie are once again faced with their greatest fear of losing each other but this time it could be permanent and if it is, then they won’t be able to spend the rest of their lives together.

Chapter 27 - After Buck resumes therapy, he’ll continue to face the fact that he “DIED” in March 2023 and during those sessions, he’ll learn about the 7 stages of grief. As he continues his healing journey, Eddie will be right by his side just like he promised and the Diaz family will start to deal with their three minutes and seventeen seconds loss as a family.

Chapter 28 - Two years ago, Eddie was asked, “What are you afraid of?”; twice, once by Frank and once by Buck but he only answered one of them without deflecting. Since that time, he’s been to therapy and him and Buck got married but the question resurfaces when Frank asks Buck the same question and Buck asks it of Eddie for the second time. However, when Buck asks, his reasoning will be about something else entirely.

To finish/publish:

With you I'm home - I quoted 20 chapters for this because Buck's Baby was also 20 chapters but I am 100% playing this by air. In this fic, we see Buck and Eddie embarking on their first year of marriage. They have a 2 year old son (Aidan) and Christopher, who is 14. This fic will show them navigating parenting a boisterous toddler and a sassy teenager while they begin their journey to having a new baby.

Cat Fic!! - this has been sitting in my WIPs folder for months now and I haven't had the beans to write it recently! Buck has adopted a cat with a curious name that brings a whole load of feelings to the forefront of his brain (is he saying I love you to the wrong Eddie?) and also provides some excellent material to fuck with his friends.

AUs that live in my head rent free

GTA AU - Listen I know this sounds weird, BUT, Buck and Eddie are heads of rival motorcycle gangs and constantly engage in turf wars. They realise they have the same product dealer for their cocaine lockups, who has been selling them dodgy product, resulting in loss of revenue for both men. They come together to confront the man realise they work extremely well together and who knows, maybe rival MC gang members can fall in love!

Piano Teacher!Buck, Parent!Eddie and Student!Chris - this was inspired by my Musician AU Play me like a fiddle, and was vaguely encouraged on Ao3 by @theotherbuckley, and will be a oneshot of Eddie coming to Buck after being referred to him by Christopher's physical therapy. Buck is more than happy to take Christopher on as a student is fast delighted by his constant, bubbly optimism. Eddie watches as Buck teaches his son and watches Christopher's confidence in himself build and realises, fuck, he's slowly falling in love with his son's teacher.

His Dark Materials AU - Buck finds himself in possession of an alethiometer and the more questions he asks of it, trying to figure out it's true meaning, the more he finds himself being drawn towards a dark, mysterious man he's noticed hanging around the college lately. Buck's daemon is instantly drawn to Eddie's daemon and the two find themselves unlikely friends, embarking on a quest to discover what it is the alethiometer is trying to warn them about.

Single Parents AU - Buck is the single father of two daughters and has just joined the 118 and is struggling to find his place. He meets another single father at his daughter's school in the pick up line one day and Eddie reveals he's training at the LAFD but struggling with childcare while he does it. Buck suggests they combine childcare and offers to help Eddie train, and even gets him a position in the 118 when Eddie graduates. How long will they coparent their three kids before they realise they've got it bad for each other?

Misc. ideas that haven't quite developed into fics yet but exist!

Magic Au - Buck and Eddie both have the power to control their auras (which have a colour and scent specific only to them) and go through rigorous training to enable them to save the earth from the Elder Race threatening to take over (inspired by Michael Scott's Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel)

Detectives AU - I've been watching too many Scandinavian crime shows and want to write Buddie solving a grisly murder

Writing Curse: Gifting You My Stories

Here are some story ideas that I have but I am either never ever going to write because they deserve to live in my brain or they are permanent WIP 🥳

Prompt 1: The Curse Of God On His Child

At the beginning of time, the only two creatures who existed are the oynx night who breathed loved out into the cosmos in a wordless yet etheral manner and a creature who declared himself God. Creation spun out of this coupling as Creation became the first angel and true child of God. God's mind started to wander as thoughts combined into ideas and ideas turned into plans.

Universe, galaxy, solar system, planet, humans. Creation was made to watch over the easily excitable children who, like their forefather, also manipulated the outside to match their insides. They smeared the red of their insides onto each other's faces as they laughed into the night about tales never told.

It was pleasant. Until, Creation did something bad. They killed God. it was an accident. They swear it was an accident. But who cares when you've killed God? No one cared about God, except the humans. Not ever the night sends shooting stars for mourners.

But Creation cared. So much. And the humans cared. Too much. They begged to hear God. Hear his comforting words. Creation begged them to stop talking about God. But humans are excitable children who wanted to talk to their father.

Creation ordered a tiny village of little boys and little girls who played and killed together to do something nice for them. A perfect little birthday present wrapped in tongues. Yes, of the two-hundred villagers, a hundred would be getting their tongues ripped out.

You might expect that they would be scared and some were. But they were also blissful. It's rare you had an opportunity to be listened to. So humans did many things that night. All lot of things that Creation didn't want them to do. And after the two hundred dead bodies were gathered together under Heaven something magical happened.

Creation knew they did something bad. Again, so they changed a bit. Denial lived in the heavens and revenge was born again.

Revenge was born out of the cries of mourning and blood and tongue. Unlike the heavenly light of Creation, they were viscous and moist with blood. Just like the tongues that were thrown into the pile.

And Revenge was going to kill Creation.

Creation was going to thrive under divinity.

Now we are here, in the modern day, no one knows what happened between these two fragmented entities. But if one thing is certain, it's that Denial and Revenge are still twirling around in their dance

WIP for my It Only Takes One AU! Cameos from a couple of my S&M OCs + some OCs I just made recently for this AU thanks to this animatic! I guess I'll go ahead and clarify that Max is the star male vedette of a cabaret in this AU! My very first foray into animation! Ugly watermark bc I made the grave mistake to work in this in IbisPaint and I'm poor af! Had to use a trashy scree recorder to put the sound and get this out w/o getting another IbisPaint watermark, whooooooop!🥳🥳🥳

More health issues arise alongside more work! I'm fine, but pretty burned out. I really wanna work on my WIPs, but what little free time I have, I'm too tired to do so😅

I always loved animation, but never really attempted to animate something until very recently. This is just the "raw" draft, I still need to work on the lineart and cleaning and a whole lotta stuff, my goal was to show this wip way later on, when I actually got to clean this part and some of this AU was already posted, but idk when I will be able to work on these things properly. Also why I made that bullheaded mistake of using IbisPaint, shoulda 've waited to get procreate... it's just that I never thought that I would ever try to animate, y'know? Seemed like a way too lofty goal at the time.

Besides that, it is indeed very hard work, but I'm nonetheless having so much fun learning how to animate! My plan was to make this an animatic, but I also keep really, *really* wanted to see more body language and facial expressions so I ended up making a lil' too many frames. And although it in turn makes it even more complicated, I just can't help but love how lively it looks... The bad news for me is that I already have an idea for another animation/animatic with canon Sam&Max set to Boogie Wonderland, a lot of dancing a car chase🥲

I’ve been good. It snowed, twice. Snow is for Hallmark movies. I hate cleaning my car off and digging out. Very much hate driving in it, felt like a stunt driver. 🤣

As mentioned in my last post, welcome to Aislynn's 1 Word For Each WIP November Extravaganza! (It was too long to fit all of that in the banner, so hence the number 4 coming in clutch, lol!)

Here's what I'm GOING TO write at least one word for in the month of November:

Halo the series

"15 Minutes" - (John/Female Reader) Chapter 12 is in progress and will get progressiver (word of the day) by at least 1 more word! *nodnods*

"Recreation" - (Kai/Male Reader) The final chapter will be slotting in between its sibling fic's *points up at "15M"* second to last and final chapter. I have notes on chapter 5 but no draft started... yet.

"Untitled Fluffy Vannak fic" - (Vannak/Female Reader) Just a one-shot that I wanted to do for the big guy, something sweet and fun because he got VERY LITTLE of either in season 2. 😭The draft is already in progress.

I also would like to write a Reader fic for Riz since the entire rest of Silver Team is getting something 👀but have nothing on tap just yet.🤞😣🤞 One day, I hope, but I'm not counting this as part of my WIPs to be finished in November... unless I should get a heck of a lot of work done on everything else. 😉

Halo: Reach

"Choices: A Choose Your Own Spartan Adventure" - (Noble Team/Female Reader) One of the most personally ambitious things I've attempted in a while, the first chapter that sets up the adventure is almost done. Next to go are each of the chapters where you choose which Noble Team member you'll continue the adventure with. I have the plot for all of them but only Emile's has something written. We'll also be getting a separate chapters for female and male Noble Six, since we're all about, you know, choosing who you want to adventure with and Six can be either in the game. 😎👍

The Flash

"The Price" (NSFW) - (Caitlin Frost/Hunter Zolomon) I've known what's going to happen in chapter 2 for a quite a while now. Just got to write it... one word at a time, right?

"Guardian Angel" - (Time Wraith!Caitlin Snow/Eobard Thawne) About 1/3 of chapter 3 has been done for, umm, years now. Just need to push it on through a little bit more! I'm not sure how many chapters in all it will be, at least this one and a 4th but that may be enough to finish it. We'll see!

"Split" - (Caitlin Snow/Eobard Thawne) The third and final fic in the Ghost of Eobard Thawne series turned out, to my surprise, to have 3 very ragged first drafts and part of a 4th chapter just hanging out in my Word docs after all of these years. I still have my *surprised Pikachu face* on for this one, what can I say? 🤷‍♀️😂

"Try" (NSFW) - (TomCav!Eobard Thawne/Caitlin Snow/Mattobard!Eobard Thawne) Oh yeah, I went there. After all of the versions of them that I've written, the only really surprising thing is that I didn't do this a lot sooner, lol! This one has 3 chapters of almost 8k words done that nobody has ever read. It's weirdly one of the few times I did world-building, too. It's projected to be pretty big, 20-25 chapters, so maybe 50k words? 😱 It's a really big undertaking for something that's honestly just for me but... I'd really like to be able to read the entire thing one day, lol! And there's only one way to do that: I've got to write it, one word at a time. 🤷‍♀️😉

I may have totally forgotten something but this was all that showed up in my WIPs folder. Of course, that folder was imperfectly copied from my previous computer and I had to go looking for several of these, so who knows. If I missed something, feel free to let me know.

There's a boy staring at him.

Steve yelps. 

The boy shrieks and overbalances, falling square on his ass. He must've been crouching right next to the bed, watching him sleep like a curly-haired little creep. 

“The fuck?” Steve sputters. “What the hell is wrong with you?” 

The boy measures him with an unimpressed look. 

“Good morning to you, too. That's a pretty bold question for someone who just drooled all over their pillow, don't you think?” 

Steve stares at him. 

“What the- … I didn’t- … Who the fuck are you?” 

“Dustin,” the kid says, like that explains everything, clambering up to his feet and brushing imaginary dirt from his clothes, all importantly. When Steve fails to gasp in understanding, he frowns. “What, Eddie didn't mention me?” 

Steve shakes his head. Dustin huffs. 

“I'm his page.”

“His what?” Steve says. “Like in a book?” 

Dustin stares at him like he can't decide whether to laugh or cry and Steve can feel his shoulders sag. Great. Looks like he's in for another confusing day.

I want to scream, but I can’t get the air into my lungs. This isn’t fair. If Malek had to take anyone, he should have taken me. Not this innocent child. Not these people celebrating their gods. Me. A murderer. Someone who so long ago lost my humanity that I barely even remember what it felt like to be human.

This line from the present, the past, and you in between:

The war was long, but my life with her has been longer. I used to say that I've lived on borrowed time, and I accepted that my life was destined to be short. Then I began to pray to Malek, begging to borrow more, all to spend with her.

Combined with this line:

I begged Malek for more time, and he gave me too much.

From Did Someone Say Shots?:

Instead, I slept with her when I knew how horrible of an idea it was, and it fucking destroyed me when, in the morning light, she called it a mistake. Look at me, dealing with the consequences of my own actions.

Last but definitely not least, from chapter 6 of castles crumbling:

I laid my old self to rest a long time ago, but he is still there at the wake, trying to make sense of her demise.

Then Xaden walks into the conference room. He has the kind of presence that makes people shut up and pay attention, and I hate him for it. The chatter that permeated the air dies away instantly, replaced by the silence of worshippers waiting for words from their god on high. I guess Xaden fulfills that role here. Those golden eyes of his find me almost immediately, and I school my expression into a glare. I hate you, I hate you, I hate you. That's the message I want him to receive. Instead, he only smirks, and then turns to retrieve a folder from Bodhi, who followed him in. Xaden takes a seat at the head of the long table, sitting as casually as one would in their own living room. He props his elbows on the table, the movement causing the muscles of his arms to bulge under the rolled up sleeves of his black button up shirt. I hate that he looks that good without even trying. I hate that I know what he looks like under that shirt even more. As if sensing that I was thinking about him, about That Night, he meets my eyes again, and his grin this time is downright filthy. "Shall we begin?" he asks. "Sorrengail, you're up. Tell us how you plan to save our asses, and try to make it quick." Oh, fuck him. I plaster on my most fake smile, and stand. Liam gives me a look from where he stands, that basically says Don't do something you'll regret. Luckily for me, I've about expended my regret reserves when it comes to Xaden Riorson. If he wants to be an ass, then fine. I'll be an ass in return. He needs me a whole lot more than I need him.

👻 - IDK if it's a headcanon, but I like to think Xaden sometimes needs assurances that she's not going to leave and that she loves him because he doesn't think he's worthy of her. Not in like, a toxic way, or in the "I need to know you'll be there" way that he brought up in IF, but more every day, like "Hey I'm feeling x right now, and need to hear that my brain is creating scenarios that aren't real." IDK if I'm making any sense.

WIP Wednesday

Last WIP Wednesday: 06/22/23. Holy shit, now that was a lifetime ago. And guess what? Still the same fic (You Need Only Ask), still the same chapter (2, of course). BUT. Back then I was stuck in a loop of rewriting the beginning of the chapter—now I'm almost three pages in, woohooo 🥳 One day, I promise, I'll get to the end of it. In the meantime, and since it's Valentine's day, how about a little... snippet...? 👀 (slightly smutty btw, I won't put a cut this time but just in case, you're warned)

There wasn't any sound but their steady breathing. James had stopped moving on purpose, both to give Alec space and enjoy the all too rare moment. Retreated from civilisation, but safe from the elements; holding someone dear close to him, with all the cares of the world far behind. This was just what he personally needed, although he didn’t mind if Alec insisted on taking things further. He never minded.

“Is that it?” 

Alec didn't stir as he spoke. It couldn't be clearer to James this was right where he wanted to be, however many jibes he might make. It wouldn't be Alec, of course, if the last word wasn't his.

“Number one rule in the book: never stint on foreplay,” James replied. One of his hands moved down, settling on Alec’s stomach.

Alec sneered. “I see. Buying time.”

“I didn’t hear you complain.”

“How about you put your money where your mouth is, hm?”

As James’s fingers dug into Alec’s skin, the latter squirmed to get them even lower. Getting impatient, wasn't he? Good. That went to show James had taken the right path so far. “Do you mind if I fetch some lotion?” James asked.

“Why, do you have—”

In response, James rolled over to the other side of the bed. He reached for his luggage—an unsung advantage to a room so cramped had to be how he could do that without getting up. A few seconds into fumbling for his toiletries, his hand emerged with a small, flat plastic bottle. He set it on the nightstand, before reclaiming his warm spot beside Alec.

“Only one thought in that small mind of yours, isn't there, James?” Alec commented.

“And what thought is that, hating to chafe?”

“Nobody I know uses lotion for chafing.”

James smiled. Although he’d been—mostly—sincere, how was he supposed not to use ammunition when it was so generously handed to him? 

“Their loss. Anybody can use a little glide,” he said.

There was brief silence. Then Alec finally answered back—half-disparaging, half-defeated. “You’re a wanker.”

“At your service."

New Follower Milestone! 🥳

Today I reached a new follower milestone and wanted to say thank you to everybody who follows me!

The number of followers I have now is more than four times the amount I had when my previous account was deleted! (and I'd thought that account had a lot!). It makes me so incredibly happy to know that so many people like to read my fanfic!

(as per usual, I will refrain from saying the actual number, as I like that Tumblr doesn't show follower counts so people can't place too much importance on them)

In addition to the exciting follower thing, I've really received so much love, encouragement and support from you guys - especially with this latest nasty barrage from the angry on the internet people™️. Every time a few nitwits get hateful and ridiculous, you guys remind me that good folks still exist and far outnumber said nitwits!

I'm going to be going on a writing binge these next few days. The schedule of projects I intend to tackle is:
