I need to rant about my favorite characters right now so here’s a bunch of my Remus Sanders headcanons in no particular order!

Headcanons under cutoff

Small trigger warning for mentions of self h@rm and murder

Autistic (already made a post about this here, it’s pretty old tho and I’m probably going to redo it)

Uses they/them pronouns

Likes taking showers, not to get clean but because it’s one of the only times where it’s socially acceptable to be naked

Hates following social norms and sticks to their own thing

Will not hesitate to kill any bigoted people

Favorite musical is Twisted from Team Starkid

Likes to self harm for the thrill of it sometimes, and their one wrist is totally messed up because of it

Does pole dancing for sport

Has octopus tentacles they can summon at will

Likes to hang off the ceiling and use their tentacles as a hammock

Likes to grow their hair out really long and style it in a bunch of different ways

Likes having their hair played with

Cannot keep a pair of headphones in good condition for more than a week and by the end of the week the headphones are either destroyed or covered in stickers and marker

Loves to sketch different kinds of monsters and creatures and has a sketchbook of a bunch of their different monster designs

Fucking LOVES JustDance and DDR and is very competitive when it comes to those games

After their eye got stabbed in WTIT, they messed with it so much due to the discomfort of the itchiness from their allergies that their eye is fucked up and will fall out at random times and will need help putting it back in

Loves the HBO Harley Quinn animated series (their favorite character is Bane)

Likes to listen to Jack Stauber and Insane Clown Posse

Very dependent on attention and will become spiteful and annoying if they’re ignored for too long

Has a special interest in true crime

Is a really big cat person, has taken many different types of cats as pets including wildcats, lions, tigers, jaguars, cheetahs, etc

Is a really big fan of aquatic life, especially all the different weird creatures near the bottom of the ocean

Has a weapon called a jackhandle (jack coming from the phrase “jack of all trades”) which is basically a handle that can turn into any weapon at will

Their bed is a repurposed coffin and the lid was turned into a shelf with a bunch of their figurines and stuff on it

Bites stuff when stimming and loves chew fidgets

Their room is decorated to a horror theme

Loves haunted houses, and has been tempted to become a scare actor a few times before

Janus is literally the only person who can keep Remus calm

Will eat literally anything, Janus has had to save them from choking multiple times

HBO SPN ASK GAME

Sam’s eyes flash yellow when you’re not looking. Piercing lamplight across sinking graves in swampland. Do you meet his eyes? Do you fear him?

Dean’s got twelve tattoos and counting, creeping out of shirt sleeves and snaking down long arms. He got the first one a year after John Winchester died. What do they look like?

Don’t tell Castiel his wings are phasing again. Don’t let him know he’s slipping. Are his wings ugly or beautiful? How?

Lucifer whispers to Sam in the early hours of the morning long after Cas took hell from him. What is he saying from the other side of the bed?

Sam and Dean’s scars are so numerous they’re overlapping, skin rough and patterned and rippling with unforgotten pain. Tell me about your favourite.

Sam carries a sharpened rosary and a handgun, an old photo of Jess crumpled beneath three one dollar bills for when he yet again forgets her face. He doesn’t carry a wallet. What else does Sam keep on him?

Mary whispers through the vents of the Impala long after she’s dead. Scraps of white nightgown get caught on all the sharp points between seats. Sam and Dean listen for her beneath the blare of their father’s rock music. What do they hear?

Cas’ eyes haven’t glowed blue in a long time but they haven’t stopped glowing either. What colour do you see, waking up to God’s angel watching over you? Don’t think about what made them this way.

Sam cuts scrapes his knee tumbling at age nine and doesn’t bleed red. What does Dean do? What does John do?

You can cure vampirism but you can’t cure the instincts. Tell me about Dean, bloody-steak-red-meat man promising himself he’s fine. Tell me all the way’s he’s not fine.

Sam wakes up soulless and feels nothing but relief at the cool earth beneath his fingers. Does he know his soul is trapped in hell? Does he want it back?

When Sam is eleven he recoils from the holy water at pastor Jim’s. What else makes him unholy? What else can’t he touch?

Sam doesn’t belong at Stanford and he knows it. Too many knives and not enough friends, grin sharp and alluring in a way he doesn’t notice. He studies harder and calls it penance, please, let him belong. He takes long walks at 3am and doesn’t return for days. Where does he go?

Twelve-year-old Dean gives his little brother beer when he can’t sleep. John notices the missing bottles and doesn’t care. What else doesn’t Dean tell John? What other secrets does he fail to keep?

A hundred years in hell and Enochian is more familiar to Sam than English will ever be again. When he cries out at night it’s in a language Dean doesn’t recognise. What is he mumbling that only Cas understands, averting his eyes because he speaks Enochian like the devil. Tell me something about Sam that Dean can never understand.

Sam and Dean have always been homeless, but hbo spn makes sure the viewers know it too. Tell me about Sam and Dean sleeping on the side of the road because all the motels were full. Tell me about looking for coins under the seats of the Impala for the washing machines and coming up short. Tell me something I don’t know.

Dean keeps his father’s jacket longer than he wants to, hides it in the bottom of a duffel where he knows Sam won’t look. What does he do with it when Sam does find it anyway?

Jack is born wrong and he knows it, tearing his mother apart with a violence he doesn’t mean. Wings drag heavy on the ground, eyes glowing gold and he can’t shut them off. He can’t leave the bunker during the day. Sam and Dean and Cas know what it is to be monstrous. What do they tell him, that comes from such bitter experience?

Demons can’t turn their black eyes off, teeth stained black by demonic smoke and mouths more like maws. Sunglasses and lipstick are essentials, and the brothers can’t help flinching whenever they see someone sporting both. What’s another tell for possession, and how does it affect Sam and Dean?

Demon blood isn’t the only addiction either of the brother’s have, Dean, who’s smoked a pack a day since his father’s death and Sam who picked up worse habits at college he never managed to shake. Does this make Dean more sympathetic to Sam’s demon blood addiction? Less? Does he still lock Sam in the panic room? Does he lock Sam in with himself?

Dean hates his father’s music and listens to it anyway. What does he wish he could leave behind? What music can he hear and not think of his father? (yes this is an excuse to drop your hbo spn playlists)

Angels are never quite there, vessels vibrating and flickering with the strain of holding their host. The smell of ozone portends their arrival. Tell me how the angels are viewed differently, closer to monstrosity and further from God?

Dean comes back in Lazarus Rising but he comes back wrong. He’s been in hell too long for it not to leave a scar of its own. Tell me what’s different.

Chuck who’s forgotten he’s God, who relearns divinity through angels and learns to fear them faster. Does he rebecome God? Does the song remain the same?

sam stan ask game! Saw this on @anglicansamwinchester‘s blog and I wanted to do it!

Sibling status (younger, middle, older, only child…) - I am the second youngest of 4, so I get both middle and youngest vibes.

How long have you been stanning for - I loved Sam from the very first episode I ever saw (which I think was Tall Tales) but I think what REALLY did it was Houses of the Holy. Watched that 6 years ago and it was just ... he has FAITH, he has to believe he can be SAVED! Who can watch that and not stan?

Favorite Sam era - S1-2. Psychic Sam rights!! Gender! also S13-14 any time he interacts with Jack. Honestly bringing in Jack was so good for Sam’s character I wish the writers had actually done something with it. 

Favorite spn season, but if the only criteria was Sam’s hair - ummm S3 hair is very good, also S12. 

Favorite Sam-centric episode - Ooooo I’m gonna have to say American Nightmare. I know it’s later seasons and there’s probably stuff from earlier seasons that I technically like better, but MAN if that one doesn’t hit hard. 

Any ships you may like to mention - Saileen is beautiful and I love it so much. 

Favorite song you would/have put in a Sam playlist - ooo there are so many but one I have on my playlist that I love is Power by Bastille. Also I’m Good At Being Lonely Can’t You Tell by fat’se. </3

If you could steal one thing from Sam’s wardrobe, it would be - Carhartt Jacket. It’s a classic and I love it.

Favorite unhinged Sam moment - Not the most unhinged but when he just straight up tackled Lucifer at the end of Season 13 in order to defend Jack. OH also when he slams Nick up against the wall in Season 14. 

You must have some intense headcanons you need to talk about, tell me one Sam hc that drives you insane - that Sam still has access to his powers but the only reason he hasn’t used them is because he’s afraid to. That line in American Nightmare drives me up the wall!! When he says that he can’t anymore and then he says “at least I don’t think so!!” Why didn’t they do anything with that!!! aaaaaaaaaaaa!! HE NEVER NEEDED THE FEATHER TO FLY

Tell me something about the hbo Sam that lives in your brain - black nail polish, overt gender non conformity. Wear skirts with their carhartt jacket. Have open discussions about theological topics, and then cries and their mascara runs down their face.

Oh no, the writers forgot to give Jess a personality! Now it’s up to you. Tell me, what was Jess like - I don’t have a concrete idea of Jess in my head but I’m just gonna throw out some stuff I like to think about sometimes. She’s bi. She paints. She grew up in California and has 2 younger siblings. She wants to change the world but doesn’t have a concrete plan on how to do that, but she talks about it a lot. 

Biggest injustice Supernatural commited against Sam (be as brief or as ranty as you desire) - The fact that they always made him morally right but textually wrong, I will be angry about this until the day I die. He literally said that choices are what make you a monster, not birth, and the text was like “haha, expect we’re gonna kill the monsters anyway.” Still fuming. 

And finally, just say something about him that makes you smile ♥ His stubborn optimism. Sometimes he will fall into despair, but the way he’s able to pick himself up and say no, I have hope. I have faith. You can take away literally everything I’ve ever believed in, and I will keep believing that good things will happen. <3 KING

Nowadays I'm a SPN Ladies stan first and equal parts Cas and Sam stan second, Dean is just the most fun to psychoanalyze - Favorite SPN Season, but if the only criteria was Sam’s hair: SEASON EIGHT! It's so lush and beautiful and POWERFUL! Sometimes I just stare at it instead of paying attention to whatever's happening! - Favorite Sam-centric episode: Mystery Spot is still a fave because of him, boy really went through the spectrum of human emotion in those 50 minutes. Also this is more @ the fandom, but how much Sam get ignored when talking about parenting Jack! Sam, who nurtured him and showed him kindness from Day 1! Who taught him how to use his abilities! Sibling status - Youngest of 3

How long have you been stanning for - I was a Dean girl when I watched five years ago but on my rewatch (started May 2020), I was a Sam stan right away, which became obvious during my Sam apologism in s4.

Favorite Sam era - Like, all of them, but narratively and in theme the s2 Sam era was so strong.

Favorite spn season, but if the only criteria was Sam’s hair - Controversial opinion, but s8. It was a goddamn mane and it was beautiful.

Favorite Sam-centric episode - Hmm probably Swan Song because of the magnitude of his sacrifice, and the redemption from his s4 demon blood arc.

Any ships you may like to mention - Sam/Cas is my #1 but I love one other unnamed Sam ship a lot and lowkey ship almost every other Sam ship but I will not go into it because ships are a touchy topic

Favorite song you would/have put in a Sam playlist - Maybe Boston’s “Don’t Look Back” or Blue Oyster Cult’s “Don’t Fear the Reaper”?

Favorite unhinged Sam moment - Listen, I should probably find a new one but for some reason this one always sticks with me: “You're too weak to go after her, Dean. You're holding me back. I can take out demons you're too scared to go near.” (I guess it just highlights his transformation from hesitant hunter to a goddamn ultra-powerful hunting machine, which I like, and the arrogance is kind of hot for some reason.)

Tell me something about the hbo Sam that lives in your brain - I read this one about how demon blood/angels don’t mix so Cas can’t heal Sam and they can’t touch without it being painful and being around Cas makes Sam feel sick or something like that but despite all that they would die for each other and anyway I think about that sometimes

Oh no, the writers forgot to give Jess a personality! Now it’s up to you. Tell me, what was Jess like - They really did forget, didn’t they? I think she probably balanced out Sam so she was more light-hearted and less serious; she was more artistic while he was more analytical; she came from a very grounded background (supportive family, grew up in the same house her whole life, etc.) as opposed to Sam’s moving around a lot and not having consistent friends or always-present family.

Biggest injustice Supernatural committed against Sam (be as brief or as ranty as you desire) - If we’re talking about Supernatural as in the showrunners: Early s8 Sam giving up his responsibilities - not helping Kevin, not even looking for Dean (?!), it was so out of character sometimes I just pretend it’s not canon. If we’re talking about Supernatural as in the biggest injustice within the show: I mean, besides his entire life? Probably the s9 Gadreel possession. Particularly because Sam thought he was going crazy when Dean kept lying to him about it.

FAYZ Asks

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all safe and well. I have a few posts queued up since I have plenty of time on my hands, starting with this one–answering these Gone-themed asks by @hawaii-lp-hawaii! This is a really long post, so I apologize in advance. Also, I received a few asks recently, which I answered, and I would be thrilled to see more! Enjoy!

Question of the FAYZ: If you could get rid of one character, who would it be and why? I have a hard time deciding, since they all seem really essential to the books and small-town community, but if I had to pick, Drake. Would this decrease plot weight and affect progression? Yes, but honestly? It’s worth it.

Probably Hunger, I think that everything in it really helped developed the characters and we got to meet new people and situations, like Duck and the Human Crew.

Yes! I got gifted the Monster Trilogy and although the ending was very shocking, and I didn’t feel as connected to the characters, I still really enjoyed the books.

Although I loved almost all of the characters dearly, my favorites are probably Lana and Dekka.

Although it’s headcanon, my favorite ship is probably Lana and Dahra, since I really think the signs were there…

Caine, because let’s be honest, he was a total villain, not an anti-hero.

Hm…Maybe Astrid? I truly don’t think that she was a bad person but I know a lot of people don’t love her.

Caine…I don’t hate him but I just don’t like him.

Sam and Astrid–there is something to like about their “ideal” relationship, but I hate how Sam tries to pressure Astrid into sex.

Drake–that one’s pretty self-explanatory

So many! I’d say the main ones are Live Like Legends by Ruelle, Gasoline by Halsey, Mother’s Daughter by Miley Cyrus, and any song by 2WEI.

I really want to see it as a TV show, hopefully on a major streaming service like HBO or Netflix!

I found the book at Powell’s in Portland and was immediately entranced!

I’ve been a fan for about 2 whole years now–not a lot at all, but I’m a MAJOR fan.

Probably Caine’s or Brianna’s, since they seem super fun and powerful, but Lana’s or Sam’s is the most handy.

Although I don’t really have a favorite scene, I always tear up in the last few pages when Diana, Sam and Astrid go out to eat.

Honestly, bad. Yeah, he’s technically a kid, but that doesn’t excuse his behavior. Despite his final sacrifice, it seemed to me like he let LP possess him so that he could die and be free of any consequences .

Orc! His character arc was great, especially considering he got killed off so unnecessarily.

Hm…weirdly, Jack’s. It just seemed so offhanded and depressing.

Sam!

Diana!

Not at all, actually. If they were the same age, maybe, but Brianna was such a free spirit that I feel like it could almost be demeaning.

The last book in its entirety .

Mostly the sexualization of young girls, especially Diana.

Yes! I’m incredibly lucky to have been gifted them for my birthday in 2018

I can’t find my copy of Fear at the moment, but the moment where Lana and Astrid recite a quote from Dune has always given me chills, as well as the classic “it’s just a FAYZ” quote.

Weirdly, Lana. We both come from cities, have been forced out of them, etc. Plus, I’ve always kind of thought I looked/acted like her in certain scenarios.

Ok: everyone in life, and Gone, makes massive mistakes sometimes, and I can’t really blame characters instead of writers. However, I think Astrid gets hate for no reason. Yes, she manipulated Sam, which isn’t cool, but you can’t really blame her, especially since their relationship is based on him pressuring her to have sex. Plus, she’s supposed to be a calm, level-headed, genius Madonna figure, when nobody considers that she is also 14 and they can’t blame her for everything.

Hm…I love a lot of the scenes in book one with Caine and Sam’s sassiness, Edilio, and Lana.

SO MANY! Where did John and Cookie end up? Why did Diana end up at Coates (it was explained, but confusing). Did Astrid every really have a power? Did Edilio like Lana as a cover or was he just unsure of his sexuality at the time?

I think Quinn had a strong character arc. He was really essential to the town and learned from his mistakes, and I love him as a character, but honestly, he didn’t seem that essential. In the first book, he aided the Coates kids, which could’ve been done by anyone.

Lana and Cookie!

Hm…to be honest, I don’t know of many other books or shows like Gone.

LANAAAAA!!!!!!! Ok, so, there is debate about Lana’s ethnicity and race. In book one, her grandfather is Chumash, and she’s said to have paler skin, but then Michael Grant said he thinks of her as Latina (he said Hispanic, but Latina is a more inclusive category). Personally, as someone of Mexican descent, I would LOVE to play her (check out my Twitter!). However, if it is decided that Lana is canon Chumash, I would never want to take away that role from a Chumash actress.

So many! I’m thinking about making a post soon.

Hm…probably all of Plague, considering Hunter’s death and Dekka’s surgery.

I’ve found that a lot of people find Lana boring or cold. I can see where they’re coming from, because her storyline is very disconnected from the main Sam/Caine thread by book 3. However, I still think she’s a great character.

The Caine/Brianna battle against the bugs!

My books have the silhouette covers, the first book being lime green, and personally they’re my favorites.

I’m not sure if she counts as a side character, but Dahra! I think that her storyline brought a lot and it could’ve been further explored, since she only really interacted with Lana.

I don’t think Mary deserved to die at all! I think that after a while, her story may have gotten repetitive, but it seemed unnecessary since it didn’t develop any storylines.

There’s so many reasons! I love the strong female characters, the diversity, everything!
