Contradictorily, can be very idealistic and when she wants to do something (ie. convince Beanie to go swimming with her in the ocean at midnight) she will take an 'it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission' approach. Her idealism makes her very happy go lucky and optimistic as her plans do go right (most of the time).

Theodora used to be taller than Beanie (only by about an inch thought) but since Beanie's growth spurt, she's shorter. She has dark skin, and curly hair that reaches about a quarter of a way down her arms; Theodora doesn't like her hair in her face but enjoys having it down so will often be in a half up half down hairstyle.

Desperately desperately desperately wants to be a ballet dancer and dreams of being a prima ballerina, though her parents are trying to push her towards something they deem more realistic. He nods "i thought it was my friend and his pals again, but it wasnt till i found myself getting thrown against the ceiling with everything else in my house, everything fell including me and i saw a big light, they took me, i dont know where or what they were, but i know that they werent human, they did something, I'm not sure what, i- i dont know what happened, next thing i know i find myself getting accused for murders i didnt and would never do, i would have never done that to my wife.." he finishes and im sat there half in shock

"i... actually believe you.." i whisper in disbelief and he looks at me in disbelief as well "you actually do?" I nod and he sighs in relief "i promise im not crazy, im gonna figure out what the fuck happened no matter what i have to do" he says and i nod "i-ill help." i blurt out without thinking and i see the corner of his mouth lift "really?" he asks and i nod "ill do anything to get the both of us out of here kit, i know we're both innocent.." he nods

"speaking of, what happened to get you in here?" he asks and i hesitate for a moment "u-uhm well, i guess it's only fair, but before i was admitted i had issues with anger issues and would snap at people without realizing causing people to dislike me, and i eventually got really depressed and my parents werent very good people, so one day when my parents werent home getting drunk after an argument i went into their room and grabbed pills from their restroom" i pause for a moment, a sigh escaping me as kit looks at me with sympathy

"i grabbed the pills and i took them all, i went to the kitchen and i was hurting myself and sobbing like an absolute mess, i still remember when the pills started to kick in and i started to regret it a lot, i could feel myself getting sick and my mouth drooling from the urge to throw up, i passed out on the floor and woke up with my parents above me, they said my mouth was starting to slightly foam and they took me to the hospital before sending me here because they couldnt and didnt want to handle me, i couldnt be trusted alone for really long time.." i finally finish talking, my gaze meets his and his eyes are filled with sympathy, he reaches out and grabs my hand catching me off guard

"you're doing great, im really proud of you for doing better now, despite the situation we're in" he admits and i feel something in my stomach, almost a fluttery feeling, are these...butterflies?

"t-thank you, kit.." i ask slightly in disbelief, used to getting called 'mental' or 'crazy' instead, he nods and gently squeezes my hand "i swear to do everything i can to help you and protect you y/n, i cant let myself let you get hurt" i look at him with soft eyes before abruptly hugging him once more, ive never felt like this towards someone, even outside the asylum

"dont worry y/n, we'll make it out of here together.." he reassures, "also, its kitson.." he says and i look at him confused "that's what kits short for, kitson.." he says and i find myself smiling slightly "cute name kitty.." maybe this wont be that bad...

Ok I know there have been posts abt it before but I want to talk abt it again. I think it’s really interesting how the last wish kinda plays around w gender a little bit. Most of it’s abt Puss bc he’s the main character but a bit of Kitty too

Puss wears makeup in this movie. He knows how to do silks (which are generally seen as very dainty and feminine). He lets Kitty lead when they dance. There’s a deleted scene where he dresses in drag as a disguise. He changes clothes, wears a wig, and gives himself a full face of makeup instead of the little bit he usually has and it wasn’t really a problem for him (bc he was focusing on much more important problems at the time but still). Puss from the first movie or from the Shrek movies never would have done any of that but now he doesn’t care what ppl might think or how “unmanly” it is, he is Puss in Boots!

And when he’s talking w his past lives in the cave, there’s so much toxic masculinity. At first they’re all vibing but as soon as he says he’s going to find Kitty and perrito, they all get furious. They literally call him puny and weak for admitting he loves his friends and make fun of his fighting skill, his time at mama Lunas, and anything else they know he’s insecure abt. That probably would have sent Shrek movie Puss in Boots into a blind rage where he needs to prove he’s still “manly” by those standards but instead this Puss sticks w his decision to leave. When they realize their belittling isn’t working, his past lives are all like you’ll never be strong like us, you’ll never be brave like us, you’re wrong for choosing your friends over glory. They put this idea of being tough and manly up as the “correct” choice and what he’s doing as wrong. He still ignores them.

But it’s very interesting to see that even before he got any character development at the beginning of the movie, Puss was starting to explore and drift away from the perfectly manly persona he had.

And then Kitty. There is much less w Kitty and it’s a lot more surface level but it’s still interesting.

She leads in the dance fight they have w the bears and doesn’t even give Puss a second to think abt it. Then at a certain point, she lets him lead like in the first movie, but they end it w her leading again. They were both perfectly fine and comfortable dancing either the traditionally “masculine role” or “feminine role.” I also found this post abt how they changed kittys design too so it wasn’t your typical “girl animal” design. I’m so glad they did this.

But cats might just have a different sense of gender than humans in the Shrek universe bc in the first movie’s dance battle scene, Puss doesn’t realize kittys a girl until she takes her mask off and yells at him at the end. Which means that he either told her gender by her face or her voice. I think voice is more likely tho. And all the cats are pretty much naked all the time so u can’t tell by clothes, there’s no sexual dimorphism so u can’t tell by body type, and if ur a normal not talking cat u don’t really have a voice so u can’t tell from that either. I’m sure they have other ways of telling like pheromones or smth but it would make sense if they weren’t as strict abt gender as humans are. When everybody looks the same, how are u supposed to get mad at them for doing the “incorrect” thing for their gender lol It’s impossible.

But anyway, I just think it’s cool how they kinda let Puss play around a bit w his presentation and outgrow his toxic masculinity

if sam was dating a girly girl he would most certainly wear matching pretty pink hello kitty pajamas and watch disney movies and sappy romcoms with you whenever you want and let you do his skincare (full nine like microblading the eyebrows, face masks, serums, oils, face rollers, EVERYTHING) and he’d pretend not to like it but secretly he loves it (secretly he’s js checking u out bc u look rlly good in the pajamas like u do in everything and he would most definitely touch your ass more than once bc he’s very handsy in general) but nonetheless he enjoys it. also he’d let u have the room whatever theme u wanted and if you wanted to wear a onesie out in public but didn’t wanna do it alone he’d go with you. that man is so crazy for you he’d do ANYTHING you asked, like if u asked him to be a housewife he’d put on one of those stupid maid outfit and make it rlly funny and be pouty and sway his hips and js make it a comedy show js to hear ur laughter and see ur smile. he also gets rlly sassy and pouty, like he definitely flips his hair and then when he says something under his breath and ur like “what was that” he’s like “nothing” and sits up straight. also like if you ask him to do something while ur on ur period (like asking him to get u food or sanitary products) he’d be like “ugh why” at first if he’s like sat/laid in a weird but comfy position that can’t be replicated but when you give him that glare he’s immediately like “yes ma’am” and does it, i also have a feeling like he does a little salute sometimes to warrant a giggle or two. he’s js so effortlessly funny and ur effortlessly funny to him, like you’ll js say something and the delivery of it might be funny and he’ll laugh so hard his ribs would toughen and he’d giggle abt it for days (oopsie i yapped quite a lot here sorryy) but yeah u get what im saying sorry for writing sm didn’t realise i went on a tangent

YESS AHHHD im obsessed with that idea of letting his gf/partner do his skincare because he seems like the kind of guy to kinda care about it, like i feel like he'd do the bare minimum you know like wash his face and put on moisturizer but if his partner wants him to follow their skincare routine then he's all for it. i do agree with you with pretending not to like it but then you see the blissed out look on his face as you rub/massage the moisturizer in his face. and hed def be handsy with you as you stand in between his legs as he sits on the toilet so you can actually reach his face (curse his height) and his hands would def but trailing up and down your legs, grabbing your ass (you tap his cheek when you feel him squeeze your cheeks but all he does his smile at you cheekily), and resting his warm hands on your hips, his thumbs brushing the skin underneath your shirt (SOBBING RN BECAUSE I WANT THIS SOO BADD WITH HIM)

I did start a wip a while ago about pregnant sex-- i know, but I stopped cus I dont know how to make it not sound weird like I really wanted to touch upon pregnancy hormones a d what it was like being pregnant with Halo compared to what it was like being pregnant with the twins and I started doing a bunch of research about it and what's normal, abnormal, and like the nuances about arousal during pregnancy even from the husbands side of the ordeal and how emotions can really be on high during the second to third trimester

There also another I started kinda on the whim a little bit ago that's like angst/hurt comfort which is more about the complications during the pregnancy w the elder twins and Rio reacting to everything that's happened so much so fast after the birth because the pregnancy w the twins was miserable and not the best experience cus it was a high risk pregnancy mostly in part due to being pregnant with twins especially fraternal twins and it being your first ever pregnancy on top of them being twins, so the birth was not an easy or fast process, I also did a bunch of research on the complications that can happen during birth and the circumstances if one was to die during birth, you definitely do live but I needed to know the extent of how much pain I can put you through, I also searched a bunch of medical terms and recovery processes for after a complicated birth and recovering from surgery, it's pretty much Rio working through his emotions cus yeah he just became a dad but you were also unconscious for a scary amount of hours and did a lot if the post birth bonding without you there next to him, it's a little darker than stuff I usually write but one of the reasons I love my little au so much is I be doing some goddamn research on shit I will never experience(I don't wanna be pregnant ever in my life)

Theres also "Boys will be bugs" (which I haven't started yet) which is pretty much Theo playing outside in the dirt cus he likes dirt and bugs, Theo loves bugs, like he loves bugs, yeah, hes autistic, he has a per caterpillar he cant wait til turns into a butterfly and set free

And then there's "Two pairs of twins" I think I started it idk I don't think I did, but it's about the dynamics between the oldests and the youngests, the elder twins and the younger twins, Adephagia and Gulliver watching the toddler Dylan and Eliana pretty much like damn I can't believe we're 16 apart and making a joke about neutering their dad because they cannot fathom the idea of their parents ever having sex but also, I touched on this in Prince and Princess but cus they're getting older they're more distant than they once were, they're still close but they're now burdened with more responsibility and stress because they're the oldest and one of them would one day succeed their father on the throne but because of you and your magic of dear lady vane until one of their manifest ancient magic it's not clear who exactly would be taking the throne. Talking care of their baby sisters is kinda like how they bond, you know? they're just regular siblings and not heirs to a throne, also the girls are really cute, they fight over who looks more like who cus Dylan and Eliana are also fraternal twins💀

Theres also another idea in my head that simply just have not written down but it's been in my noggin since I posted Prince and Princess and it like the other side of that like it takes place on the same day but kinda from Halos perspective like it goes through Halos day while the elder twins are getting fired for their first adult sized royal finery and like it kinda just introduced Halos little crush on Thoma, nothing comes of it cus Thoma is obviously way older and known her since she was born but it's just innocent little schoolgirl crush, you know how it is shes 14 and Thoma is nice to her kinda like how young girls would have a crush on their teacher, Halo helps him out with some of his tasks and stuff, just like how in prince and princess there was a Theo and Atlas cameo, there would be a Genesis w the younger twins cameo, I think that would be cute♡

and small displays of affection is puppy hyo's love language tbh. when nahyo are cuddling jihyo likes to kiss nayeon's tummy because it's soft and warm and well she's a puppy, you might already know what goes into her head... and now she found out jeongyeon's cheek is another soft surface for her to kiss and she loves it — not quite good as a tummy but still she loves it!

and PLEASE jihyo would fight so bad not to be a bad girl for nayeon but sometimes she slips.. cue to nayeon getting dicked down by both of them and she might be in disadvantage but she will make them pay for it the next day, mommy nayeon isn't mommy for nothing!

I absolutely missed this so this is SUPER late I bet, BUT

(long post, character stuff below the break)

In the current campaign I am taking part in (currently GMing, but given that it's a rotating hotseat campaign and my big siege arc is coming to a close, that's about to change), I play a half-drow ranger named Jace Caellos, who basically was initially designed as "Alucard, but a half-drow, and given the lore it's his mom that used to be the big scary overlord"

Mind you, a bunch of tweaks happened along the way because our setting is SUUUUPER homebrewed, while still retaining SOME stuff from Forgotten Realms lore?

Super-boiled down backstory: Jace is the product of a loving marriage between a Drow warlord that left the Underdark and made a name for herself on the surface because she didn't like how annoying Lolth and her people were, and a human apothecary that stands very much by the idea that everyone deserves to be treated well and that also believe that the Underdark had a number of herbs and fungi and possible means of helping treat illnesses that were being ignored because...Underdark.

When Jace is about 17, a bunch of assholes lynch his dad for willingly marrying and having a kid with a drow, and his mom goes nuts and leads a brutal and bloody campaign across the countryside out of rage and grief.

Jace tries to stop her.

She nearly kills him.

He lives, barely, learns How To Ranger over the span of two years, and tries to stop her again.

She nearly kills him, has a breakdown at nearly killing her own kid, and then lets him kill her.

Campaign ends, Jace is now emotionally traumatized, and goes back into being the Ranger in the Woods.

Fast forward another two and a half years, and he joins up with the Adventurer's Guild out of Holtan as a means of trying to put all his fancy Ranger skills to work, and as an excuse to dip his toe back into society.

During this time, he is a GRUMPY individual. Extremely snarky, in many cases vaguely condescending,

He's got his own set of "rules" that he insists on following, a sort of code to keep him from going off the rails (since that's what he did in outright killing his mother, in his head.) He also has a very complicated relationship with the gods, as both parents basically had the idea of "respect them so long as they're not active dicks to people."

Absolutely didn't get along with the dwarf in the party (which later on was GENIUSLY improvised by said dwarf's player by being because he recognized Jace as his mom's kid almost immediately, and had fought against her). He's since gotten less uptight about things, and he and the barbarian have an understanding now that certain things are out in the open.

He's more or less mentoring our kenku rogue in How To Morality, since he's basically a Chaotic Neutral literal magpie that doesn't get why you can't just take things that you think are pretty, or mess with statues of the gods for fun, and is also just generally much younger than the other adventurers.

He's got a sort-of rapport with the aasimar paladin of the party, who he sees as being the party member with a strong code (even if he thinks she's impulsive as hell at times), and she seems to have a soft spot for him for...some reason. (@punkpuppydragon plays said paladin, named Oz, so if he wants to shed insight on that, he can.)

His..."love interest" (which I blame entirely on @charlezarrd) is the party's tiefling sorcerer, Ashes. He got along with her because she WOULDN'T just rush straight into danger, is generally nice to most people to a fault, and seems to have a fairly decent head on her shoulders. Then Charles took a one-liner from a session about Jace getting annoyed at a gnoll for attacking Ashes and went "oh wait they could be a Thing™" and has been vaguely pushing in that direction for a bit (until Oz asked Ashes out, turning this whole situation into a weird love-triangle thing I won't totally get into here).

Jace helped Ashes tame and adopt Chester the Mimic, and is kind of currently trying to deal with two tiny Displacer Beast cubs that are rowdy but otherwise are basically just larger kittens with weird tentacly-things (since that's basically what displacer beasts are).

He's had at least two mental breakdowns so far due to The Trauma™ (the last one gave me a convenient excuse to have him leave the party and find his parents' journals when I started my current stint as GM to avoid having him just be the DMPC of the arc), he's oddly polite when dealing with people that aren't in the party (mostly due to his dad's influence) and has become much less obnoxious towards the current party members after his last breakdown when fighting a werewolf that murdered his own father out of sheer pettiness and revenge (a thing that Jace naturally has his own issues with).

He carves stuff in his spare time, and has unwittingly seduced a banshee with a stupidly-high Persuasion check and then a natural 20 on a Performance check for a song (he then absolutely misunderstood the intentions of said banshee, and things got awkward when he had to explain he was asexual and wasn't interested).

He lied to a gnome once about her whacky killer werewolf boyfriend actually loving her, because he didn't want to mar the guy's image in her mind too much (Ashes immediately called him out on this, with the gnome unknowingly present to see all this).

He got bodied by an ancient golden dragon and collapsed in front of the Guild Hall, bleeding out, because he can't even nearly die in a manner that isn't dramatic, which was fun.

He threatened a silver dragon (disguised as an elf, in fairness, but who was a known silver dragon) for being creepy towards Ashes.

He plays the kalimba.

That's Jace. He's weird. And fun to play.

Walk with me. the story me and my irl (summer) concocted long ago is that they saw a cat in a parking lot late at night and got vry worried !! bokuto is more outwardly panick-y and akaashi gets him to calm down (devastated inside) so they can run to the nearest pet store to get food... they go through the whole process of checking for a name tag + going to the vet etc but in the end !! they adopt the kitty!! YAAAY!! we never picked a gender or name or what it looks like or anything. i will have 2 ask my irls for ideas... if u have any Lmk.
