OKAY JIMMY SOLIDARITY IN THE LIFE SERIES (i haven’t seen his last life pov but i have all his others & saw grian’s last life who he was allied with) MAJOR SPOILERS UNDER CUT. long text post incoming
3rd life- Flower Husbands. Not my favourite duo/ship but they’re decent ig. He teamed with Scott and they had a really cute base but their interactions were few and unstable, it felt like an alliance of convenience really. They were on the side of the desert during the main battle, and Jimmy died to an unlucky shot *through a half slab*?! Other examples of his poor luck this season involve him thinking he had the only cow, the walls burning down, his typo on the pufferish of peace. Died first. Wet cat energy. (affectionate)
Last Life- Jimothy was a member of the Southlands, as i said i haven’t seen his pov yet. I know he started on 2 lives and died first yet again. His alliance was unstable, and he got backstabbed after a joke hit on grian. mumbo died seconds later iirc
Double Life- RANCHERS!!! possibly my favourite series for these guys alone. They died first, but this time it was *Tango’s* fault! I would say he was second most unlucky in the life series only to Jim, due to his failgirl energy at pvp (he’s self aware at least). They are so domestically in love your honour. They own a farm together. Love wins. AND THEN THEIR RANCH IS BURNT DOWN??? AND CANT REMEMBER THE EXACT ORDER OF THE REST BUT TANGO RETALIATES WITH “RANCHERS REVENGE” THE WARDEN AND THEN THERE IS… a huge misunderstanding. They go to find the enchanter and end up being targeted by hitmen and assumed to be in an alliance with their enemies. And they die </3. And their final death is caused by jimmy. The first perma-death of double life (again), to an enderman. At the end of Tango’s final dl video there is a black screen for a while and then one at a time these sentences appear and it breaks my heart: You’re still here? It’s over. Go Home.
Cue the canary curse!!! At this point (i think, could’ve been around beforehand though) Jimmy’s fans are brewing up a beautiful curse for him, and they call him a canary. This inspires a whole load of gorgeous animatics i’ve found on youtube and will include at the end of the tags. The idea comes from the phrase “canary in a coal mine”, referencing when miners would take canaries (known for their singing) into the mines, and when the bird stopped singing and would die is when the mine became unsafe as the air quality was too poor, and they would know to leave. Jimmy has been the first to be out of the series, first to *fully* die 3 times in a row. The fanart now includes a lovely pair of yellow wings. When Jimmy dies, the mine(craft world) is unstable and the other min(craft)ers will soon die too. He is an omen. He is a warning. He is like Icarus, always trying to beat it, always reaching for the sun, always burnt and quiet and no longer singing.
sidenote: i like the idea that Tango is a phoenix to contrast this. to quote myself, “the canary is the curse but the phoenix is rebirth”. not anywhere near as popular i just think it’s near
Limited Life: The Bad Boys Bread Bridge. this season was so chaotic for so many reasons!! ranchers fans (myself included) went feral over one (1) scene. one. grian, joel and jimmy were the powerpuff girls in their punk teen phase! and they decided to bake bread for some reason? anyway as for Jimmy he had a brilliant, amazing, totally overlooked by everyone, yes we do care grian, story arc about a frog. BigB gave him a grey frog, and Jimmy named it “Judge Judy and Executioner” (a Hot Fuzz reference). However, BigB and Pearl realised that the grey frog was rare or something and stole him back, making Jimmy retaliate by *stealing BigB in return*. Pearl was not happy about this and un-kidnapped her fellow neighbour. Scott and Grian try to convince Jimmy that nobody cares about this frog, and when Jimmy goes to rescue it, Pearl kind of maybe accidentally on purpose kills the frog. Oops. Jimmy builds him a grave in his hideout. Scott and Jimmy have a bunch of tense interactions, one including a deal for Jimmy to kill Scott for more time when necessary, and Scott replying “how about you kill Tango instead?” to which Jimmy says “you have 10 seconds to run” or smth on those lines. Scott says I love you, Jimmy says “you have 10 seconds to run.” Scott says “say it back” and Jimmy says “10 seconds.” Badass if you ask me. Cut to the end of the season ➜ Jimmy is first to die AGAIN, this time acknowledging the canary curse himself as a cc in the episode title, by falling off the skynet when trying to push a tnt minecart after Grian told him to in order to get more time. another sidenote there was a really emotional scene before this with Jimmy asking where Scott was cause he needed more time, and Bdubs practically begging Jimmy to kill him instead, which he did. Anyways the remaining bad boys build Jimmy a grave next to Judge Judy’s (in Solidarity. sorry i’ll stop).
another important note is that of Listener Jimmy. i won’t get too into the evo lore in this post (ask if anyone wants that post though, i haven’t watched evo or martyn’s lore but i can explain the basics) but the Listeners are essentially lesser parallels to the Watchers. I see them as lesser gods, or angels. Listener Jimmy adds a whole ‘nother layer to the canary curse, because of the singing thing. He’s always listening for silence. The world is so loud to him. The silence only comes when he has gone.
SO WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT?
Jimmy Solidarity is a wet cat failgirl of a block man and i love him. He is cursed and has both a husband and a soulmate canonically. He dies first every season and the only narratively satisfying way for this not to be the case in s5 is for him to win. Dead last or dead first. anyways hope you enjoyed my rambles etc etc have good day if you want any more please ask! i’d love to! :D

why are u still up anyway naruto wisteria and uhhhhhhh mop psycho
NARUTO
fave male character: tied between sai and sasuke bc theres something wrong with me
fave female character: tsunade my beloved <3
fave pairing: im not into naruto enough to really have one but sns real
least favorite character: too many to count this show is so boring
most like me: someone else would have to kin assign me
most attractive: hashirama i think purely because his hair does not make me want to vomit (i am anti naruto triangle hair)
three more characters i like: deidara kiba chouji :)
WISTERIA (honestly a lot of these cant really be answered about my own work but)
fave male character: purely by a narrative focus standpoint its juniper but also he genuinely is so significant. confiscating the gender i gave him
fave female character: also from a narrative focus standpoint, this would obviously have to be rebecca seeing as she is the protagonist <3 shes also (intentionally) the most jew-y of the jews in the main group so that gives her bonus points
fave pairing: junibecca comes out on top definitely but many others are very close to my heart because literally everything is by default.
least favorite character: they are all my beloved unless theyre evil but then i love them because i know im capable of writing good villains.
most like me: everyone in a way (as these things tend to go) but rebecca + atarah are top contenders for obvious reasons
most attractive: long answer theyre all hot simply because i enjoy the way people look, and they all display different traits that create a different type of attractiveness per se based off of their personalities, like how rebecca and luna are more ethereal beauties versus apollo who is a more of a cutesy character versus vivian jacob and juniper who are action-based since much of their beauty is derived from the physical actions that carry out parts of their character in a sort of show dont tell manner (like jacobs running or vivians smithing); this all fluctuates with them too because no person is static in the way theyre viewed by myself and others so it really varies by moment, those are just their broader “archetypes”. short answer i am bisexual.
three more characters i like: outside of the w6 i like hawthorne karang and levi a lot. loads more obviously but they come to mind
MP100
fave male character: we all know its reigen but i like them all very much<3
fave female character: tome overwhelmingly
fave pairing: this really is not the show for that.
least favorite character: idk fuckin toichirou? whatever
most like me: once again someone else will have to kin assign me
most attractive: due to legal reasons i cannot answer this question
three more characters i like: ritsu teru shimazaki

“It’s patriarchy”
I’ll be making lots of comparisons throughout the post in order to illustrate better my point. Lauren said it: “It’s rampant sexism”. On the media, on the GP’s perception, on the production process, on the industry in general.
Let’s start with some basics....
BB released an article back in early 2015 where it was described Why Can't Modern Girl Groups Land a Radio Hit? These modern GG more like 5H & LM. In this written piece there are several statements that undoubtedly caught my attention. Starting with the last paragraph:
When I asked Biddle why he thinks One Direction enjoy more stateside success than girl groups, he echoed Wiegenstein's sentiment. "I don't know 100 percent. I guess it's because those boys are 'cute'? It could be as simple as that."
How sad it is that we exist in the midst of 21st century & still there are people that prefer “pretty faces & looks” over talent– btw this comment is not triggered to 1D in the slightest, I have nothing but respect for them– I just mean this in a very generalised form.
It’s not secret that a girlband has to work 10x harder to get a quarter of the recognition a boyband gets.
Similarly, a girl group isn't as easy to promote as a boy band. "In terms of teen magazines, the idea of marketing different members of boy bands is easier," says Anna Louise Wiegenstein, a former pop culture instructor (and Little Mix fan), who's giving a talk on One Direction fan culture at the National Pop Culture Association/American Culture Association Conference in April. "There's the 'funny one,' the 'mysterious one' -- it's easy to make quizzes and profile pieces around them."
When marketing a girl group to teenage girls, Wiegenstein continues, it's harder to tap into those teenage hormones. "When you're talking about a group of girls, they target the brands around personalities," she says. "It's more like, 'Which one would be your friend?' And there's less of a fantasy aspect to that."
Leaving aside the marketing strategy (which is true, bc how many times we have seen someone in the fandom say “I’m more like Lauren” or “Dinah & I would get along” etc.), I want to focus in the use of “teenage hormones”. Hormonal is always associated to the female self. Which leads me to jump into the media field:
Here a contrast on how media reported 5H x Camila vs. 1D x Zayn
Informing about the “We don’t talk to our ex-bandmates anymore” moment.
In contrast to Camila’s report, Zayn’s one has got this “scattering element”, if I can call it like that. The “chunky girls” & “Gigi Hadid” features helped to divert the viewer’s attention from the main point. Just look at the comments section from the two videos & the difference is pretty self explanatory….
youtube
youtube
Sadly the more problematic the situation evolves around the girls, the better. For boys, the situation is showcased in a much lighter form even if the conflict is tighter over there.
youtube
We know that in both cases narratives are recycled. However on this side the girls haven’t threw shade thus far, unfortunately media portraits the whole in an almost unforgivable way. For the record there was not really much to report. It’s only about the time Lauren posted the “fake that confidence bih” tweet, only to later explain it was to herself. Still that was not going to stop them from pulling a video to attract a handful of viewers. The segment starts by quoting the title, which by the way ensures grabbing the spectator’s attention: “Did Lauren Jauregui diss Camila Cabello AGAIN After Grammy After-Party?”
*in my most sarcastic tone* You guys, apparently L shaded C more than once & we didn’t know… I grew three grey hairs with that headline itself. Right after including Lauren’s tweet to the assumed shade, the only thing they added on the coverage script was a simple “preach girl” 😒😒
youtube
Whereas in the 1D side Zayn did throw shade (several times), a public fight on Twitter unleashed & the reporter’s remarks sound nothing like in the 5H coverage. The feud is a lot less magnified. “Ugh! Put the weapons down boys!”. Hell, Clever made sure to shut down the rumours that Zayn had unfollowed the entire band. Note how they even show what happen to be “receipts” while the host says “I’ve put some of my best creeping skills to the test & found out he has not yet unfollowed them so there’s that bit of kinda sorta good news for you & in hope that this won’t ruin their friendship for good.” We can also add how in a poor attempt of diminishing the climax they brought the dolls into the scene. Seriously, I’d love to see them doing something like this when addressing the girls’ drama *sighs* only in my wildest dreams.
Why does media scandalises more the girlgroup’s party than the boyband’s one?
I’ve said this before, but I don’t mind repeating it. Hollywood has used the stigma that “women can’t get along while working” for so long. Plus the infamous stereotypes of our incredible rational society that a girl is constantly hormonal, temperamental & always has to be involved in any sort of catfight with someone from the same gender. There has to be a “bitch” in the story without exception. Inside the entertainment industry, they love taking advantage of this cliché. Not said by me, but coming directly from a very renowned actress…
Jessica Chastain talks sexism in the industry
If the video loads for you, I highly recommend that you watch it. It’s such a short article, nevertheless I’ll be attaching some extracts below:
There was a great myth that I grew up with that women don’t work well together,” Jessica Chastain tells Vanity Fair.
Back when she was promoting The Help in 2011, Chastain explains, “so many of the questions I was getting from the press was about fighting on set—’Was it tough to be on set with all those girls?’ I wasn’t getting those questions with any of the other movies that I’d been involved with.”
Out of joke, I lost count of all the times I’ve heard this same question with 5H.
Fun fact that I found randomly: Reminder that only 3% of the decision-making in media is made by women. Which means that 97% of how women are portrayed is decided by men.
Always pitting women against each other is what our generation does best nowadays. Clearly mgmt & the label have used this with the fandom. The creation of “-izers” are a great example of this. As well this standard is ultimately what impulses the narrative on a daily basis. Stans went from loving & defending the group with their lives, to only caring about their faves. I know some fans still keep up with each girl & love them all. I have faith in those stans. If you’re one of them, don’t fall for that mischievous game, thank you.
DON’T BE NAIVE, KIDS.
P.S. I leave you the link to others sexist scenarios in the industry. Worth checking each out.
This Is The Kind Of Bullsh*t You Face As A Woman In The Music Industry
99% of women working in the film and TV industries have experienced sexism
I’ve heard, for example, that if a male director is being picky, people say he has a strong vision. With a woman, people will say she is being difficult. It’s also common to assume that kindness is a sign of weakness.
7 Anecdotes From Female Artists Show How Deep Sexism Runs in the Music Industry
"Women in the industry are judged more," Nicki Minaj told Time back in February. "If you speak up for yourself, you're a bitch. If you party too much, you're a whore. Men don't get called these things."
Grimes Says Male Producers Threatened to Not Finish Her Songs if She Didn't Have Sex
Grimes is no stranger to being open about the misogyny and sexism she and other females face in the industry.
Grimes fielded one fan's question, who asked why the topic seems like such a "regular thing" for her to tweet and speak about if she finds it so annoying. Grimes explained it only seems that because of the way the press fixates on it.

I was tagged by @fryferbfringefan44. Now, I have to post 10 characters from 10 fandoms. I’m gonna take some liberties here and bend the rules by not necessarily picking top faves, but faves nonetheless and characters I want to talk about that I don’t really get to in other memes. Be ready, I’m gonna use this to let off some steam. :V
1. Isabella Garcia-Shapiro (Phineas and Ferb): I can’t help but feel controversial here because while I’d hardly call her unpopular, I always get the feeling that most people either don’t care about her much or that the main reason they like her is because they ship her with Phineas (or Ferb, or some other character even). Meanwhile I’m sitting here cringing at my old Phinabella days, and am in that odd sliver that seems to really like her but don’t really focus too much on the Phineas aspect, even if I still have some dreaded Phinabella inside me I’m trying to suppress? I mean, I didn’t even realise she had a crush on Phineas until a year after I discovered the show (yep, I didn’t see crush episodes like how Linda never sees Phineas and Ferb’s inventions). So anyway, I just think she’s really damn cool. She’s hypercompetent like the rest of her peers, she cares about things that matter (in particular the Fireside Girls) as well as her friends, she’s not afraid to speak her mind (well, besides one thing), plus she’s funny, cute and while probably being the most “normal” out of Phineas and Ferb’s group of friends can still have her moments of quirkiness (just watch Return Policy or Face Your Fear, lol). I also find some of her flaws quite interesting, like a lot of her friends we actually see she cares enough about the Fireside Girls to the point where it has given her anxiety over potential failure, and sometimes she has a need for attention (I really like the episode where she’s competing with Candace over attention for Melissa the young Fireside Girl because of this). Granted her central character arc still revolves around Phineas and I understand why some don’t really care for that, but admittedly I like that kind of stuff too (in b4 “problematic fave” comments from people). On one hand I feel like we focused only on her crush at specific times and not nearly as much as some people make it out to be, but on the other hand her crush on Phineas is just super adorable? I think it might actually be because I kind of relate to her (I often remind myself of her at times admittedly, even if there’s other characters I’m more like XD), like there’s loads of characters that exist as love interests but Isabella actually managed to engage me probably because we actually followed her and her feelings instead of her just being some random girl for Phineas to try and impress (I guess I’m saying she was at least active in her own romance storyline, before then I had only really seen boys chasing after girls)? IDK if I’m making sense, but I guess I’m saying even if I think she’s able to stand on her own with her other attributes and is admirable in that regard I can’t help but really relate to the crush stuff too, which is maybe why I like her more than some people (and again, still not in the super shippy wants-her-to-be-with-Phineas-at-all-costs way). But yeah, as you can see I think Isabella is awesome and she’ll always have a special spot as a fave.
2. Jasper (Steven Universe): I choose Jasper because I feel like some people are being somewhat unfair on her? Like, I feel like some people are underestimating how complex she is and that she’s not going to be the “true villain.” Steven Universe never works that way, not even with characters like the Diamonds, you can even ask the writers and they’ll say they don’t do actual villains. Plus, lots of people have gone “true villain” on characters like Peridot when she first appeared, and now look at where she is! Anyway, Jasper’s story is honestly really gripping and also quite tragic. Sure, she works as a great antagonist against the Crystal Gems, but when we piece together where she came from we really get to see why she is the way she is, and she’s actually quite sympathetic. I mean, in her last appearance in Earthlings, I was on the verge of tears. She’s not just some thug, she has things she cares about and has experienced real hurt, and has become quite messed up as a result. Oh, and I can’t wait for her to come back. She’s gotta be back eventually.
3. CT-5555, aka “Fives” (Star Wars): I always enjoyed the clone troopers, but one of my favourites was always Fives. I was always invested in the Domino Squad storyline, and how they rose through the ranks and eventually became ARC Troopers. However, when things got really interesting for me was the Umbara story arc. Here, we not only saw Fives’ capabilities as a soldier, but with Pong Krell taking control of the 501st Legion he actually started to show more colours to his personality. In particular, we got to see that he cared more about what he thought was right than simply following orders without question. Unfortunately, even if that saved him and his fellow clones on Umbara, it would doom him when he learned about Order 66. Fives may have done the right thing, but when the entire Republic is against you for trying to reveal what they perceive as some conspiracy theory, you’re not going to go out well (especially if you have the Sith involved). I just really liked seeing a clone grow rebellious and then renegade but still cared about his duty because it’s either all loyalty or fuck the army, it was a nice balance. It was just committing the crime of asking questions that doomed him (and gosh his death is so sad). At least Rex seemed to listen to his warning though. :’)
4. Bradley Nicholson (Milo Murphy’s Law): IDK if I’ve talked about Bradley much, but he’s just such a blast to watch. Of course there’s the added bonus of Vincent Martella voicing a character radically different from Phineas, but even then he’s just really funny, the voice acting just enhances that. He’s also quite interesting, given that he’s jealous of Milo and the attention he gets, plus he seems kind of lonely. I really want to see him interact with Milo in the future and see whether he changes his opinion on him, or if he somehow grows even more envious while he grows on the others.
5. Makuta Teridax (Bionicle): Yeah, Teridax here is a pretty standard villain with standard villain traits. Selfish, arrogant, wants power, views his subordinates as nothing but tools, associated with darkness, etc. The reason he has left a mark on me is because he’s not only good at what he does, he’s epic at it. They could’ve just had him be some typical dark lord type, but he ended up developing into a character that is able to plan things out to a ridiculous extent. As a result, he would always find ways to be steps ahead of the heroes, and he would even go as far as letting himself be severely defeated and letting them win if it meant achieving his ultimate endgame. Everyone was being played like a puppet, he was powerful but his manipulation and planning is what made him so competent. Oh yeah, and he ended up winning. It literally took a moon to the head to finally take him down, but even then he had already unleashed so much terror on the world that was now his.
6. Keith (Voltron: Legendary Defender): I’m pretty new to VLD so I might not really be as in-depth here now, but Keith is definitely one of my favourite characters in the show. For starters, he’s just really badass. Seriously, he might be reckless at times, but at least he’s not to the point of being foolish, he’s really good at what he does. Also the whole storyline with him being Galra was really interesting, The Blade of Marmora is probably one of my favourite episodes of the show so far. I was already invested in his need for answers, but there he was willing to go to dangerous lengths to get what he wanted. At least the hell he went through was worth it.
7. Alister Azimuth (Ratchet and Clank): Most of the final bosses in Ratchet and Clank games are villains, but here it was literally the mentor character for Ratchet. Granted I’ve never been too savvy with video games, but this twist here when I first saw A Crack in Time blew me away. He’s one of the last of his entire species and has lost everyone who was ever close to him, but when he sees the chance to go back in time, he can’t help but take it. Problem is that he will rip apart time if he actually tries that. It’s actually really dramatic to fight him at the end because throughout the entire game Azimuth had been helping out Ratchet despite stuff from his past slipping into the open (oh yeah, he also feels personally responsible for unwitting helping the one to get rid of the Lombaxes), but when Ratchet and Clank tell him using The Great Clock to alter time would be dangerous, he decides to stop playing nice. He’s rough throughout the entire game, but now he’s not taking anything from anyone. He needed to go back and undo the mistakes of the past, but he had to end up fighting someone who is the son of his once best friend to do it. Granted he’s brought to his senses by the end, but he does end up dying to reverse the time travel process.
8. Connor Temple (Primeval): I don’t remember much of Primeval, but I always liked Connor. Sure, a lot of the time he was there to be goofy and provide comic relief, but he was also really intelligent and knew his stuff. It’s also cool seeing him grow more important with each series, even if in the end his technological skills almost fuck up the Earth since he was being played by the antagonists. Just a fun and cool character.
9. Max Jerry Horowitz (Mary and Max): Mary and Max isn’t a film for the faint of heart (...like me), but Max has always meant a lot to me. He was the first time I had ever seen an Autistic character that felt real, and not just some stereotype or gag. We get to know him and all of the stuff he’s been through, and you can’t help but feel for the guy. He also wasn’t afraid to be himself despite how much hell the world put him through, which is really great to see. Also yay for a character that actually supports neurodiversity in some shape or form!
10. Donna Noble (Doctor Who): Donna was the first companion I got to know on Doctor Who, and she’s still my favourite. I enjoyed seeing someone with a relationship with the Doctor that was platonic but still strong and obviously meant as much as any other kind of relationship, and she was a lot of fun. I understand some found her annoying at first, but if she didn’t start there she wouldn’t have had such great character growth, learning to grow more confident in herself and overcome her insecurities. She was really funny as well, not to mention unafraid to speak up about things. The way she left the show was absolutely heartbreaking though...
I’m not tagging anyone, but if you’re reading this an interested feel free to do this.
