Flighty (Stand in the path of a plane’s flight)

A hurricane could happen around Flighty and he wouldn’t notice a thing. That’s how oblivious Flighty is to his surroundings, just happily wandering around without a care in the world. He also tends to wander into places he shouldn’t be in. Unfortunately, one of those places ended up being a runway at an airport.

Blight (Play around on a building site)

Blight loves to play. In fact, just about any place in the world can turn into a playground for her. She especially enjoys playing around in high places and her favorite type of game is balancing on things. So when Blight came across a building site, there would only be so many ways that this could play out. It ended the worst possible way.

Goofus (Step into a lion’s cage at the zoo)

Goofus loves cats. To him, cats are sweet, cuddly and great companions. Goofus simply couldn’t get enough of the furry felines and loves all types, big and small. So when Goofus went to the zoo one day, Goofus couldn’t resist wanting to give a caged lion all of his love and affection. The lion did not feel the same way.

Kook (Use too much gas for your barbecue)

Kook was never good at math. When he ordered a pizza to be delivered to him, he gave the pizza delivery guy $500 when the pizza only cost ten. So when Kook was hosting a barbecue, Kook couldn’t figure out how much gas to use, so Kook decided to just use up an entire gallon. The idea blew up in his face.

Loone (Wear a jellyfish as a hat)

A trendsetter with an eye for fashion, there wasn’t anything Loone wouldn’t wear. Loone wore a dress made of flowers and used duct tape rolls as stilettos and gained a small following as a result. However, that style became so yesterday very fast, so Loone decided to set another trend by using a jellyfish as a hat. The fact that the idea did not catch on stung a lot.

Muggin (Rob a gun store with a baseball bat)

Muggin was never the brightest bulb, which was how he ended up becoming broke and destitute. Desperate for cash, Muggin decided to turn to a life of crime and decided to rob the first store he saw and stormed into the place with a baseball bat. Sadly for Muggin, that store was a gun store. Muggin took a shot at crime and failed while the store owner took a shot and succeeded.

Bozo (Throw a knife straight up in the air)

Being a member of a circus was Bozo’s dream job. However, Bozo would have to train for that if he were to achieve that goal. Within weeks, Bozo mastered all sorts of performances such as tightroping, unicycling, and acrobatics. Now all that was left was to master the art of juggling. Bozo wanted to practice with knives and decided to start off with juggling a single knife. Bozo wanted to join the circus, but he was already a clown.

Cretin (Go out in the snow in your underwear)

There are two things in life that Cretin enjoys the most. One of those things is going out in only his underwear as Cretin believes that clothes are too restricting for him. The other thing was snow. One day Cretin decided to put both of those things together. Being in his underwear in public that day, bystanders weren’t the only ones giving Cretin the cold shoulder.

Galah (Try to surf on a tidal wave)

When it came to surfing, Galah was the queen. When it came to having brains, Galah was the fool. Whether the day was rainy, windy, or snowy, Galah didn’t care. Any day was a good day for surfing, including the day a siren for an incoming tidal wave was announced. On the plus side, she certainly had one gnarly ride.

Divvy worked in accounting, but was an adventurer at heart. Divvy had fantasies of going out and exploring the natural wonders of the world. So when Divvy took a vacation, she decided to spend that time exploring different areas, including a wolf’s cave. Also being a canine lover, Divvy assumed that wolves were just big dogs. The ones she encountered were definitely not man’s best friend.

Clunk (While there’s lightning climb a pole made of steel)

Clunk was an athlete and excelled in all things physical where his favorite activity was climbing. During his school days, P.E. was the only class he passed at. One of those classes that Clunk flunked in was science, so when a thunderstorm occurred during his attempt to climb a steel pole, the lesson on what happens when lightning makes contact with metal was very shocking to Clunk.

Dolt (Use a chainsaw to prepare your meal)

Dolt loved to cook, but he was constantly looking for various ways to improve his cooking. Dolt felt like his kitchen knives were too dull and inefficient with chopping ingredients. This led to Dolt using a different tool for cooking: a chainsaw. The chainsaw ended up fulfilling what it was meant to do, which was cutting things.

Klutz (Deep-sea dive with no air tank)

Klutz loved the ocean and everything that has to do with it. Klutz decided to get a good view of what the ocean had to offer by going deep-sea diving. However, Klutz was very forgetful, so in his excitement, Klutz forgot to pack an oxygen tank to go along with his diving suit. He also forgot that his diving suit did not have an unlimited supply of air.

Bogan (Scare an armed man as a prank)

If the dictionary were to come out with a new edition, Bogan’s picture should come up as the definition for “troublemaker”. Bogan is a massive prankster and no one is safe from his shenanigans. Bogan also has no consideration for the consequences of his actions, so when he blasted an air horn to scare an armed soldier, Bogan would not be having the last laugh.

Kuckoo (Let a giant snake creep around your waist)

When Kuckoo adopted a giant snake, the two really hit it off. It was a relationship that would not be broken easily. Kucko would let her reptilian friend wrap around her all the time. Their love was strong, but unfortunately for Kuckoo, so was her pet snake. Turns out her snake was an affectionate hugger who didn’t like letting go.

Noddy (“I wonder how this will taste?”)

Noddy was a curious individual. Even if it might end badly, she wanted to know the outcome for everything. Noddy was also quick to assume, so when she found a bottle, she assumed that the bottle was a drink and wanted to know what it tasted like. Spoiler alert, the taste was not good and neither was the aftermath.

Palooka (Take a hike up a steep unstable mountain)

Palooka was a bit of a daredevil who wanted to live life to the fullest. However, Palooka was also bad at judgement, like how he judged badly on which mountain to climb and chose a steep one. Palooka was also pretty clumsy and made another made judgement that a simple walking stick would be all that he’d to fix that. Once again, it was a bad judgement call.

Schlepper (Experiment with lots of deadly poison)

A science fanatic, Schlepper was obsessed with doing different lab experiments. He wasn’t trying to invent a cure for cancer or a new hair formula or anything like that. Schlepper just liked messing around with different chemicals and seeing what they could do. What Schlepper should have focused a bit more on, however, was lab SAFETY. Especially when he worked with poison.

Ditzy (Text and drive on an interstate freeway)

Whoever introduced Ditzy to texting probably regrets it right now. With texting, she discovered social media and became obsessed with taking photos of herself and posting and texting them to other people. She did it wherever and whenever she could, including on the interstate freeway.

Mutton (Drag race inside a tight-spaced area)

Mutton was a showoff, but the thing he loved showing off the most was his car and how fast it could go. Mutton was normally the winner of the drag races he participated in. One of the tracks took place in a tight-spaced suburban neighborhood and like any other race, Mutton burned rubber. In the end, Mutton lost and was crushed.

Chump (Merge into a busy lane without signaling)

Chump was a high-ranking member in the corporate world and didn’t feel like he had to play by the rules. He felt like he could do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted to without anything bad happening to him, such as merging into another lane without using his turn signals. However, Chump ended up getting a crash course in why you should use turn signals, especially on busy roads.

Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham is a book I've been wanting to read since it came out, and look! I finally read it! I'm a big fan of the Gilmore Girls, and I love Lauren Graham's humor. Maybe I still have Gilmore Girls heavy on the brain, but this book almost felt like I was reading what would have happened to Lorelai had she never gotten pregnant with Rory and instead moved to New York with dreams of being an actress. Franny's character was full of the fun and quirkiness that I love about Lorelai. Her whit along with her humorous ramblings when she's embarrassed or just feeling awkward will keep you giggling. I keep saying "read". I actually listened to the audio version of this book. It's read by Lauren Graham herself, and I highly recommend it, as only she could properly tell her story with all the right inflections. It adds all the more to the humor and feel of the story. This was such an enjoyable book. I hated to see it end. Speaking of which, what's up with that ending? I need to know more! What happens next? I know what I'm hoping happens, but I like to have something concrete. On the other hand, it is kind of fitting. Still, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for a sequel.

Chapter 1 “Begin whenever you’re ready,” comes the voice from the back of the house. Oh, I’m ready. After all, I’ve prepared for this day for years: The Day of the Most Important Audition of a Lifetime Day. Now that it’s finally here, I’m going to make a good impression, I’m sure of it. I might even book the job. The thought makes me smile, and I take a deep breath, head high, body alert, but relaxed. I’m ready, alright. I’m ready to speak my first line. After all, I’ve prepared for this day for years: The Day of the Most Important Audition of a Lifetime Day. Now that it’s finally here, I’m going to make a good impression, I’m sure of it. I might even book the job. The thought makes me smile, and I take a deep breath, head high, body alert, but relaxed. I’m ready, alright. I’m ready to speak my first line. “Eeessssaaheeehaaa.” The sound that comes out of me is thin and high, a shrill wheezing whine, like a slowly draining balloon or a drowning cat with asthma. Shake it off. Don’t get rattled. Try again. I clear my throat. “Haaaaaawwrrrblerp.” Now my tone is low and gravelly, the coarse horn of a barge coming into shore, with a weird burping sound at the end. “Hawrblerp?” That can’t be my line. I don’t think it’s even a word. Oh, God, I hope they don’t think I actually burped. It was really more of a gargle, I tell myself—although I don’t know which is worse. I can just picture the scene, post-audition: That actress? We brought her in and she positively belched all over the dialogue. Is she any good? Well, I suppose you could use her, if the part calls for lots of gargling. Sounds of cruel laughter, phones slamming into receivers, 8 × 10 glossies being folded into paper airplanes and aimed into waste paper baskets. Career over, the end. “Franny?” I can’t see who’s speaking because the spotlight is so bright, but they’re getting impatient, I can tell. My heart is pounding and my palms are starting to sweat. I’ve got to find my voice, or they’ll ask me to leave. Or worse—they’ll drag me off stage with one of those giant hooks you see in old movies. In Elizabethan times the audience would throw rotten eggs at the actors if they didn’t like a performance. They don’t still do that, do they? This is Broadway, or at least, I think it is. They wouldn’t just throw— The tomato bounces off my leg and onto the bare wood floor of the stage. Splat. “Franny? Franny?” I open my eyes halfway. I can see from the window above my bed that it’s another gray and drizzly January day. I can see that because I took the curtains down right after Christmas in order to achieve one of my New Year’s resolutions, of becoming an earlier riser. Successful actresses are disciplined people who wake up early to focus on their craft, I told myself—even ones who still make their living as waitresses—like me. I started leaving the alarm clock on the landing between Jane’s room and mine so I’d have to actually get out of bed in order to turn it off, instead of hitting snooze over and over like I normally do. I also resolved to quit smoking again, to stop losing purses, wallets, and umbrellas, and to not eat any more cheese puffs, not even on special occasions. Normally I would’ve asked our other roommate, my best friend, Jane, but she’s been working nights as a P.A. on that new Russell Blakely movie. Since Dan moved into the bedroom downstairs a few months ago, I haven’t noticed much about him except how unnecessarily tall he is, how many hours he spends writing at the computer, and the intense fear he seems to have about coming upon either of us when we’re not decent. “Dan! Come in! “You’re decent?” In fact, I went to sleep in an outfit that far exceeds decent, even by Dan’s prudish standards: heavy sweatpants and a down vest I grabbed last night after the radiator in my room sputtered and spat hot water on the floor, then completely died with a pathetic hiss. But that’s what you get in Park Slope Brooklyn for $500 a month each. Jane and I had shared the top two floors of this crumbling brownstone with Bridget, our friend from college, until the day Bridget climbed on top of her desk at the investment banking firm where she worked and announced that she no longer cared about becoming a millionaire by the time she turned thirty. “Everyone here is dead inside!” she screamed. I have no romantic feelings toward Dan, but I do have very strong feelings about my unruly, impossibly curly hair, which I piled into a green velvet scrunchie on top of my head last night while it was still wet from the shower, a technique that experience tells me has probably transformed it from regular hair into more of a scary, frizzy hair-tower while I slept. In an attempt to assess just how bad it is, I pretend to yawn while simultaneously stretching one hand over my head, in the hopes of appearing nonchalant while also adjusting the matted pile of damage. For some reason this combination of moves causes me to choke on absolutely nothing. “Is it . . . (cough, cough) . . . is it really late?” I sputter. “Well, I went to the deli, so I don’t know exactly how long your alarm’s been going off,” Dan says. “But Frank’s been up for at least two hours already.” Shit. I am late. Frank is the neighbor whose apartment we can see into from the windows in the back of our brownstone. Frank leads a mysterious, solitary life, but one you can set a clock by. He rises at eight, sits in front of a computer from nine to one, goes out and gets a sandwich, is back at the computer from two until six thirty, is gone from six thirty to eight, and then watches TV from eight until eleven p.m., after which he goes promptly to sleep. The schedule never changes. No one ever comes over. We worry about Frank in the way New Yorkers worry about strangers whose apartments they can see into. Which is to say, we made up a name for him and have theories about his life, and we’d call 911 if we saw something frightening happen while spying on him, but if I ran into him on the subway, I’d look the other way.

Azubuike scores career-high 31 on Senior Night as No. 1 Kansas beats TCU 75-66

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Imagine what Kansas center Udoka Azubuike would have accomplished against TCU on Wednesday night if he was healthy.

Or if he made his free throws.

The bruising 7-foot center walked gingerly into Allen Fieldhouse on his sore ankle for his final home game and proceeded to score a career-high 31 points while pulling down 14 rebounds, leading the top-ranked Jayhawks to a 75-66 victory over hot-shooting but foul-prone TCU to clinch at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season title.

Azubuike finished 13 of 14 from the field and swatted five shots, a mere four days after hurting his ankle in a win over Kansas State. The best defense the Horned Frogs played on him was to foul him; he was just 5 of 13 from the line.

“It’s a good day to be a Jayhawk,” Azubuike said after delivering a farewell speech. “We’re No. 1. Big 12 champs. My last home game at the Fieldhouse. It was good, but it was a little emotional being my last game.”

Devon Dotson added 18 points for the Jayhawks (27-3, 16-1), though he also gave coach Bill Self and about 16,000 fans a scare when he left briefly midway through the second with what appeared to be an ankle injury of his own.

Their leading scorer returned a few minutes later, allowing the Senior Night celebrations to begin in earnest.

It was the 62nd regular-season conference title for the Jayhawks, and it came one year after a third-place finish ended a run of 14 straight crowns. They can win it outright by beating Texas Tech on Saturday or if Baylor loses at West Virginia.

“You know, the season we had last season, we came up short of that goal of winning it. It’s a good feeling, the guys getting the trophy, bringing it back to where it belongs,” Dotson said. “Hopefully we’ll keep it going.”

The win also was No. 500 for Self at Kansas, which ranks second at the school behind only building namesake Phog Allen.

Desmond Bane had 24 points for TCU (16-14, 7-10), sending him past Dick O’Neal and Carven Holcombe and into third place in school history with 1,744 career points. Edric Dennis Jr. hit six 3-pointers and finished with 18 points.

“I was proud of how we played,” Horned Frogs coach Jamie Dixon said. “I don’t know that I’ve ever been in that much foul trouble that quick in my life but we managed to do it. We adjusted and did some things. We fought.”

Azubuike dominated the opening minutes of the game, scoring the first 10 points for Kansas. And when the Horned Frogs finally triple-teamed him down low, he deftly fed Marcus Garrett underneath a defender for an easy layup.

Compounding the problems for Dixon: His team hit just one of its first 10 field-goal attempts.

The momentum changed when Bane hit a 3-pointer. Dennis later made five 3s in a flurry of a few minutes, and the Horned Frogs finished the half by making nine of their last 10 shots to take a 37-35 lead into the locker room.

TCU continued to fire away in the second half from beyond the 3-point line, where the Big 12’s best team from the perimeter at one point hit nearly as many triples as it had attempted 2-point field goals.

Kansas countered by dumping the ball inside to Azubuike, who either threw down a dunk or continued to compound TCU’s foul trouble.

Kansas finally went on one of its familiar Fieldhouse runs.

Trailing 46-42 with 14:18 to go, Azubuike caught a pass inside and dunked. He added back-to-back blocks a few minutes later, each turning into buckets at the other end.

By the time Christian Braun gathered a loose ball and made a teardrop floater, the Jayhawks had put together a 15-1 run and built a 58-46 lead with 10:34 left.

“They turned up their energy and intensity,” Bane said, “and instead of us turning up our energy and intensity I felt like we got back on our heels a little bit.”

The festive feel that suddenly swept through the Phog was quickly quelled when Dotson went down.

The All-America candidate was guarding the ball along the sideline when he took an awkward step and landed on his backside.

He remained there until a dead ball and then hobbled straight to the bench, where he buried his face in a towel as one of the team’s physicians checked on his left shin and ankle.

Dotson wound up sitting for just a few minutes, though, and returned to help Azubuike lead the Jayhawks to the finish.

“When I came here I thought Azubuike was a one-year guy, and here he is four years later. Maybe he’ll come back next year,” Dixon said with a wry grin. “I guess he’s a little banged up, but he sure didn’t look like it.”

TCU was coming off a win over then-No. 2 Baylor that buoyed its hopes of slipping into the NCAA Tournament. B

ut after hanging with the Jayhawks for a while, the Horned Frogs’ second chance at springing a big upset in the span of a week came crashing down. They were done in by 14 turnovers and far too many fouls.

Kansas struggled to find much offense outside Azubuike until late in the game.

The health of the 7-footer, along with that of Dotson and Garrett, will be crucial to watch as the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments approach. Garrett has been wearing a walking boot around campus to take the pressure off his own foot the last couple weeks.

So, I have recently passed my driving test and purchased a new car ('03 Renault Clio) and therefore need to insure it. This is where the problem lies. I have checked multiple compare sites, insurance sites, phoned them, asked my friends who they had their insurance under blah blah blah. The lowest quote I have had was 4000!! This extortionate amount is even with my pass plus certificate, saying I keep the car in a garage and having a low annual mileage (up to 6000). I really need some help here! Using a po box in license for cheap car insurance?

I live in the bronx but car insurance for me is like 660 a month... that's impossible to make... I wanted to go with Statefarm... I was using a po box in Yonkers, tuckahoe 20 mins away and it dropped to 220 a month with more then just liability coverage ... the po box isn't on the street it's a ups street address.. the guy told me people do it all the time but I just wanted to be sure.. does Statefarm ask for proof of address.... like bill of con Ed which Im only 17 btw.... I work so I was going to change my address on my check I receive to the Yonkers address and my debit card address also.. and ofcourse I was going to make that my address in my license.... I know brokers will give you insurance with any addres but will it be good the 6 months or will they contact me a month or so with asking for info abt my addres... will it work is the question if it's in on my license and I say that's where I live..
