Wow, I agonized over this post way too long. Here it is, finally. I was gonna make this a reblog but i think since it's referencing multiple posts (and boy it got super long and added a related theory) this is better on its own. This is furthering @gin-juice-tonic's analysis of the tBoB journal pages. Heavy tBoB spoilers, and warning for the darker content it has. (some swearing too) I'm convinced now they're a warped version of events and downright fake for some, however, I believe many are real.

...But did Ford remember them? "I can delete memories randomly, just for fun. Maybe I already have." I do NOT think Bill could erase everything. He probably can only erase small/recent sections. But this is a big part of my theory.

But first, Gin's points. (using some of your pics for this Gin, hope you dont mind) I'm not going to post every journal page, but I'll give a ref for ones that seem important.

Okay, this is the post that actually convinced me (went through the links from tapas, the first is sure suspicious, but the second has pretty compelling evidence.) Ford referred to Fiddleford as F through the whole of journal 3 (aside from in code), and Bill as his Muse until the reveal, he wouldn't suddenly change the way he refers to people, even if he planned to rip out the pages, in which case, why would you write them in the first place?

On the first link (this one), this appears to be an embellished story. When you look at it from bill's perspective, he's reminiscing. He lies to himself. He's making it seem like Ford and Bill hit it off immediately, and while in a way, they did, it probably wasn't like this. I'll buy Ford used Cipher's line back at him, but the jovial way they banter is just so Bill. Ford would emphasize how he felt, the mysteries he was thinking about, his reverence for his Muse. He probably wouldn't recount it line for line when he was so secretive in journal 3. Bill makes it seem like they were more like equals, when in reality he likely relished the devotion and divine status Ford attributed to him. Also, "Cipher Speaks" is in Bill's handwriting from the sticky notes. could be coincidence? I think not. 'Ford' also describes it as the "GREATEST. DAY. OF MY LIFE." This mirrors bill's earlier statements about the reader's life being forever changed after meeting bill. According to Bill, meeting him is the highest moment of anyone's life, right?

In an additional post, Gin explains how Bill didn't tell Ford he was from another dimension. Ford had to find that out at the betrayal. So, all this taken, those two pages at least are fake.

For the third link, this one, while from Doylist perspective, Alex wanted the book to have fun little callbacks, from Watsonian, Bill simply can't help himself. Bill loves trying to be funny. He's trying to keep the reader hooked, and keeping the story interesting through callbacks is one way to do that. Some of these are Bill, some are self-referential because Bill's talking about real events from the past. (rats, cipherite suit, Small World cassette, we'll get to those later)

Bill has a habit of telling the truth through his lies. What I mean by that is, if he is repeating himself through actions or words, it's probably because there's some truth to it. If he's contradicting himself, there's something he's hiding. He'll claim he has no weaknesses, but later admit he does. He'll say he has no exes, only to reference exes later. So, we can glean truths from the lies he's telling in the pages.

I think Alex is a good enough writer to keep Ford and his writing (mostly) in character. He's made retcons/continuity errors before, but he knows the fandom will pick apart everything and find them, and will have a reason for it. There's definitely some fake pages, which begs the question, which are real?

One detail I want to point out is the vignette/burn marks on the edges of some of the pages. My secondary theory is about these. (And no, it doesn't indicate they were fake.) I'll explain later.

Assumptions/disclaimers: The pages we're shown are roughly chronological, though skip forward where surviving J3 pages would go. Pages aren't realistically double-sided like they would be in J3, these are inserted into tBoB magically. I don't have a blacklight version of J3, so I'm probably missing a little bit of context there. References J3 quite a few times, so this post works best if you are able to reference both books. I can go into detail and post more pictures for any sections that aren't clear.

First off, 'Lost in the woods'. This one I believe is real, because Ford's (author's cipher) codes are in it. This code is consistently used in the book whenever Ford inserts a page, even on the moth. For Bill to use this code would break the established pattern Alex has made. However, I agree with Gin that Bill intentionally placed this page to establish Ford as lonely, and thus make Bill look better for befriending him in contrast. I don't think it's that odd for Ford to talk about his social awkwardness, he talks about his childhood bullying pretty frankly, specifically on a page meant to be an author's About Me. However, he did rip this one out, so I think he was trying to ignore his feelings by hiding this page. No vignette.

'Cipher speaks', as we've discussed, is likely a fake/altered meeting. Vignettes on both pages. On the second page you can see where it looks burnt in one corner, and there's even tear marks like there's a page missing there, perhaps their real first meeting. It's also strange for Ford to draw himself like that.

'My Muse & Me'- Ford refers to Bill as his Muse again. Despite my doubts (I went back and forth on this one), I think this one has to be real. We find on the website computer (code: Fordtramarine) that Ford tried to submit a paper on fordtramarine. In that paper he refers to an 'extradimensional entity' and 'two-dimensional'. He shouldn't know that Bill is interdimensional at this point, so Ford must mean 'outside of physical reality', as in, the astral plane. Though, there's a painting of 'a muse' in the paper. Wasn't Bill supposed to be secret? Perhaps he thought he could get away with that small reference? Perhaps this paper was submitted more recently? I don't like the idea that things from the website are also fake, since it would be strange for Bill to have such narrative control there. The website seems to reveal things Bill can't control, even if Bill is talking. This page also establishes more timeline. This is saying that not only could Bill freely move in and out of Ford's mind within a year, he had full access to alter it as well, ahead of their deal before the test. This page is probably to make it seem appealing to let Bill into your mind. It also serves a purpose of showing us Ford had let Bill fully into his mind at this point in the story Bill's weaving. I am curious why would Ford hide this only to submit a paper on it, just to keep his Muse secret? And those damn red triangles, did Bill draw those, implying he could possess Ford before their deal? No burns/vignette. The neighboring pages both have it, why not this one?

June 15th- There is direct dialogue from Bill quoted, however, he refers to Bill as his Muse. Wouldn't Ford be creeped the hell out by the rat thing, and be alarmed that Bill possessed things just to kill them? I think this page was real, but was ripped out by Bill. Heavy vignette.

At this point I should explain: I think the burn/vignette represents Bill 'burning away' memories/altering them. Ford's memories, but possibly even the reader's. I want to be clear; I don't mean Bill erased the entire memory of the page, I mean Bill erased at least some part of those events. When it's heavy around the edges, heavier manipulation. It also could indicate which ones Bill burned/destroyed. More evidence for this later.

Karaoke page- How did Bill convince Ford to drink with him after the rat thing? Bill made him forget it was Bill. "The rats were his idea?" Yeah, he told you that right away, why did he need to tell you again? While probable this happened, the writing from Ford is sus. "This Bill guy, he's really got it all figured out"? Sounds a bit like Bill talking. The drawing is strangely detailed, too. 'Dancing queen' (disco girl's parody origin) was released in '76, so that lines up time wise, at least. Likely altered/created to make Bill seem friendlier. Either could have destroyed this one if there was a real version. Vignette.

A Voice from the Past spread- He says 'my Muse', but then mentions Bill by name, which indicates it's altered. Is the first bit real, then? Why would Ford rip out this important page revealing his muse's origin and past? His curiosity would overtake wanting to keep it secret, surely? And conversely, why would Bill fabricate it? To make himself seem more sympathetic? However, there is another explanation. There is the possibility Bill erased the memories of this conversation and it really happened in some form. Bill probably realized after revealing this information to Ford it could ruin his plans. Some vignette at the top, mostly on the right page. In that is a drawing of space and a code. The code says 'forget the past." Coincidence, or purposeful on a page for a conversation Bill made Ford forget? Bill could have ripped out the pages (if they existed) himself. It's also important to note Bill is trying to isolate Ford here, which is another reason he'd hide the pages/alter memories of talking about Stanley. Also, if Bill erased the phone number from Ford's mind later, it would make sense why Ford had to send a postcard.

A Winter Break/The Krampus adventure. Where would these pages have gone if they were real? It was January for the test, so it was before the deal, but after the bunker? Gin mentioned it feeling 'off' and strange because it's just Krampus, nothing weird or Gravity Falls-y about it, and I agree. And also, Fidds knocking it out feels... weird. I think that story is fabricated with some real details thrown in. Fidds is noticeably shaken up after, but otherwise the whole story seemed almost whimsical, and just...weird, and not in the GF way. It's fake. Ford goes back inside after looking outside in Time Traveler's Pig. He doesn't come outside onto the porch at all. You could say he comes back out after that, maybe. You could say it's a retcon. But we know the children's footprints were Dipper and Mabel, not random kidnapped kids. (Bill likely wouldn't expect the reader to know this.) My eyes are also drawn to the green and red rectangles. The festive theming bring to mind a Christmas special, and how often are those only partly canon? So, then what's real about it? I believe the gloves, and possibly the snow globe was real, since they come up again later. I believe if there was a monster, Ford (or bill possessing ford 'then-DARKNESS') fought it off, traumatizing Fidds even more. Something made Fidds shaken up. Fidds and Ford probably spent Christmas together. And Bill did warn Ford about Fidds' second thoughts (mentioned in J3). Did Fiddleford notice Ford forgetting things? Did he assume Ford was simply unshaken by what happened? For me what seals the deal is the heavy vignette around those pages. Bill altered his memories of what happened and is telling us this story instead, probably to make it seem not as bad, so Ford wouldn't be so angry that Bill wasn't there/realize that he possessed Ford. I'm also suspicious of the "Trust No One." at the end. Did this phrase really come from Bill? Wouldn't Bill be saying 'Trust me'? To be honest, it's possible the last page here was half a real conversation, but the way Ford suddenly changes his tune is strange AF and I suspect shenanigans for it. And the things Bill says are very different from 'F is not bold enough to follow through.' (J3 code, An Encounter) Also, most of these pages seem to have no reason to be ripped out, aside from mentioning Stan by name/drawing them, but he could have crossed that out, and the last page which Ford would have hidden from Fidds. If they were real in some form, Bill probably destroyed them to hide the truth.

Stanley memories pages- Real, not much to say about those. Goes after Bill's warning. Probably legitimately torn out by Ford since he'd want to keep these pictures before hiding J3. Though I do notice they are covering up a lot of red triangles, perhaps also drawn by Bill. No vignette.

Dream, or warning?- Before Jan. 17th. Real, since I can't see why Bill would make up a warning about himself. He wants the reader to trust him. The heavy vignette, again, indicates he made Ford forget about it and destroyed the pages before he could solve it, which would probably be easy since it was a dream. The laughter+fire at the end indicates Bill discovered them. Just a fun side note: the song referenced is 'Im your puppet'

"I was wrong about everything" spread- I think goes in the gap where the black scribbled out pages are in J3. Again, the Author's cipher is here, indicating these are real. Vignette again. Bill's possessing Ford a lot, trying to erase the idea of fighting back from his mind(unsuccessfully), likely also hiding these pages. More red triangles.

Bill-proof suit- Goes after The Blind Eye- references being banned from the library, Blind eye mentions still researching Bill. J3 said he discovered the chant to enter someone's mind by researching Bill, so he could also find the anti-cipher society and the cassette. Real. Bill likely destroyed these pages and the previous ones to try and slow down Ford and erase his plans to destroy Bill. Vignette.

Zom-bills to Looky Here: After 'Ways to hide', as Zom-bills is written in invisible ink, but before the truck stop. (This would require Ford to have written on the right page first, then Bill tore the rest of these out, but not a huge stretch) Bill is fucking with Ford hard. He's probably taking his anger out on Ford while simultaneously trying to bully and manipulate him like he would do to his henchmaniacs, as he says later. Vignette on most of these- he's constantly possessing Ford and making him black out, trying to manipulate his memory to make him compliant/torture him. Bill likely destroyed the cassette+the memory of it so it couldn't be used against him, as Ford presumably never gets the chance to. Why he's showing the reader this? He thinks it's funny. He could also be hoping to scare the reader, if the reader knows what he's capable of, they'll be more afraid, and fear and love are the same, right? Notably the sticky note page is only a little darkened, probably because Bill genuinely was trying to talk at first. I can't find any evidence that these are fake, but there's no codes indicating they're real either. I think they were real, but Bill destroyed at least some of them.

(Side note: Computer code: Oroborous. Curiously uses Bill's cipher, bill writes in J3 too. These pages are also vignetted. Bill wouldn't like Ford knowing he showed fear. He also purposefully didn't give the reader these 'missing pages', because he hates them and doesn't want to reveal his fear.)

Polaroids- Did Ford destroy this himself like the VHS? Trying to avoid being blamed for things Bill did? Just ashamed/horrified? Curiously, no vignette on the polaroids (this could be just to have the full page visible), or Bill wanted Ford to remember these to have the threat sink in fully. Probably actually happened, Bill doesn't really have a reason to fake these pages as they make him look worse/scarier.

Blackness/'No' pages: This is largely where my theory that vignette=memory manipulation makes the most sense, The darkness overtaking the page represents bill's influence and control, and stops resembling the journal pages much (though it could be invisible ink again). He can mess with Ford's mind as much as he likes. If these pages were ever real, Bill could have destroyed them himself too. Bill's pretty much telling the story here.

Fidds page, S page- Gin made another excellent post pointing out the problems with these. They're a bit redundant when compared to J3, aren't they? And in oddly specific ways. The use of the brother code indicates they're real, though. If Bill erased Ford's memories of these pages, him basically re-writing them makes sense, and also Ford going from 'the caves hold the answer' to 'the caves might hold the answers', the snow going from 'begun to fall' to 'has fallen', and going 'fidds wont speak to me'! instead of 'my assistant has clearly left me'. In some way Ford has probably retained a bit of his plans, but its not a stretch to say he'd loop his train of thought after losing memories. The "I grow maddened" at the edge is very shaky and blurry, which could reflect the shaky and blurry memory.

I also notice (this has probably been pointed out before) now in J3 that only once outside of Gravity Falls (route 14) can Ford plan clearly. Perhaps Cipher's influence is weaker outside the town? It makes sense. if Ford sent the postcard and made his plan while free(ish) of Bill's meddling, that's why Bill couldn't just erase his memory of his plan again.

So...yeah! Some are definitely fake. Some are placed or altered intentionally to serve a narrative. Bill could be manipulating the reader's and ford's memory to have never seen these pages. Some of these memories could have been simply warped, or erased later- not right away. I'll be honest I don't love the implication that Bill can just manipulate Ford's memories freely, so I'm sure there are significant limitations to it. Bill has to stall for the whole book and give away a lot of secrets in order to change the reader's brain enough for him to be satisfied, and even then it's not enough to make the reader give in. Bill's abilities are much less than he purports. He also says that the person can notice his 'tune-ups', so there is only so much he could alter someone's brain before they notice. However, if he's been messing with Ford's head this long, he'd have a big advantage. Is the explanation that Bill erased Ford's memory a little lazy? ...Yeah? But it also kind of heightens how badly Ford was being manipulated and why he got so paranoid and unhinged there. It lets a lot of these puzzle pieces fit together that wouldn't otherwise.

My vignette theory isn't super strong, I'll admit, but I think it definitely indicates something, given some pages don't have it when they could have. They could also simply indicate those pages were burned, though it being on the fake pages makes less sense then. Bill having destroyed the pages himself makes sense for a lot of the pages, but I cant rule out the possibility Ford did destroy some of them out of frustration/shame.

Something I also realized while going through J3 again is how many 'doodles' in J3 involve red triangles. (you can see an example on Frilliam's page) The triangles I assumed were Ford's obsession with Bill, but what if they were Bill's obsession? For another post perhaps.

also sorry if this comes out a bit late- im taking a break from art for a while and while im typing this (07/30/24) i'm also finishing the visualization ref page for reader.

It's both an AU, and a fic so I apologize if things get messed up. So when I say "Undertake Sans/Papyrus/Person" it refers to my AU rather than the original "classic". My fic refers to the "6 skeletons, one human" trope and the AU focuses on details from the Undertake universe.

I may have over explained, but I wanted to keep that clear- And most of this post will take the time to talk about the plot and lore of the fic.

As I've said before, Undertake is just a sillier version of Undertale where shenanigans happen all the time on the surface. But I've never explained fully why. Welp! Here you go....

We all know how the trope goes. Sans tries to get his Dad back, and succeeds! Except this time, it's on the surface. And Frisk doesn't feel like...Frisk. Anyways, bringing Gaster back from the Void has caused complications within the universe, about 5 years after monsters resurfaced.

"One time things" turn into regular occurrences, stereotypical situations that would never happen in real life are happening, it's overall stupidity!

But Sans and Reader are the only ones who "know" about this change. Sans just rolls along with it, using this as a breather from past resets. Reader, on the other hand, has whiplash from the whole thing. When did everything change? and why? Something felt wrong in their SOUL. Everyone else seems to fit into this random "normal" and it pisses reader off.

But they're a kid. They don't know what they're talking about, so they ignore them as best as they can.

Since every monster is on the surface, and pretty much all need jobs, Sans becomes a scientist of sorts. He represents most monster scientists, and helps humans with the evolution of magic-science. He doesn't work all the time, that's a big role to fit in; something Alphy's would gladly take, and so he mostly works on projects at home.

Integrating n shit, I'll leave those details to the fic.

After getting licensed, transferring his master's degree in physics, and getting all the tools he needs, he decides to re-build gaster's machine to bring him back.

Mind you, this is a year after they get to the surface, so nothing has changed yet. When Gaster came through the machine (I'll draw it so you can get a better representation of what it looks like) he was horrified.

Why was he melting? His face was now stuck in a forever frown. Looking at his hands, you could still see the holes engraved into them from when he was first born.

He began to sign something ancient, a language horrifically nostalgic he almost forgot to catch what he was saying.

But before he could respond, the world went black. There was a wild pulsing in his SOUL before the world went black.

Imma be so real with you anon originally I was gonna save this request for later since I have ZERO ideas (funny since fran bow as a game has had a choke hold on me since it released) but then I realized I can be evil and introduce people to the game

Anyways guys go play fran bow! Or better yet theres a full fandub, as well as several lets plays on YouTube!! I also recommend little misfortune as it's made by the same creators and takes place in the same universe!

Kind of wrote this as their general thoughts and dynamic with you since I struggled a lot with thinking of romantic stuff with them, especially with characters that I dont think would like. Be interested in characters like itward

CAINE:

You guys. Can talk up a storm, I think. Literally it's just you two "interrogating" one another and learning more about each other. As scared as you are of the current situation at hand, you can't help but be intrigued by everything, including the self proclaimed ring master!

Sure you might not be able to fly away in a flying ship and return to the real world, but who's to say you cant make your own exit..? Possibly manipulate the code or something...! Sure you're main thing is machinery and technology, but theres usually some level of coding in there... so you and pomni team up to try to come up with a plan... honestly you probably lightly scold her when you find out she tried to leave, knowing ragatha needed help. On one hand you cant bring yourself to fully blame her, but on the other you would rather try to escape with everyone, you know? Pomni is sometimes put off by your odd nature, though... not enough to push her away from working with you though!!

RAGATHA:

You guys bond over your shared interested in sewing! You both make plushes! For you it's more so for gift giving, and for ragatha she does it to pass time! I like to think you guys both have nights where you just hang out, either in her room or yours, and just. Chat and sew! Probably finds your weirdness a little endearing in it's own way; afterall never once were you malicious, in fact you're quite kind to everyone around you and are more than willing to offer second chances even to those who dont deserve it. You and ragatha would be really good friends, I think!

JAX:

Finds your weirdness a little annoying and he probably asks you a ton of stupid questions on purpose. Probably asks a stream of dumb ones before asking one he knows will peak your interest, but insist he needs to go do something when you start answering. That aside he has probably asked if you could build him a funky little gadget (that he totally wont use for mischief).. probably tries to get all buddybuddy with you because he knows you wont give it to him for the...actual reason he wants

You personally dont hate him, but theres no real solid friendship there I think

KINGER:

Ah, the two strange father figures! Both with funky interests; kingers is bugs and yours is forks! ....okay well it's hard to combine those two interest so I guess we can use a different one, mechanics! You've definitely made kinger wind up robotic bugs before, and the fact it made him happy makes you happy! You guys both have a habit of spacing out, though on different levels and for different reasons...you both mutually keep an eye on one another, though!

You've probably dreamed of building a flying machine and escaping this place at least once, leaving with kinger. Too bad the reality isnt going to be that simple.. besides you'd bring everyone with you anyways

ZOOBLE:

honestly they get annoyed how sometimes you dont give direct answers and be vague when you're asked for a solution. It's not that you're trying to be malicious or incompetent, youre just trying to push for everyone to get creative and explore the world around them themselves, you know? Finds it a little off how you sometimes zone out, as if youre thinking about a dozen things at once... but nonetheless, zooble cant bring themselves to hate you. In fact you have this weird comforting aura around you.

GANGLE:

Youre so so nice with her and always trying to build her up. And honestly I think that's so sweet. Hugs. Give hugs! Side note I bet itward gives the most comforting hugs so by extension the reader gives the most comforting hugs!! You're always there to stand up for her, too, when people *cough cough jax* are mean to her. You probably also try to helo her make a new mask... not like "oh you help her fix her masks" no I mean like you try to make her a mask that's made of a stronger material so it's harder to break

Honestly I cant see a romantic relationship between a reader like this and gangle, I personally see it more as close friends or even found family

(and backstory): in the end, i want him to have resisted bhaal i think. i do want the slayer form just because of how i envisioned his character, but also i dont want to kill the grove (just because i personally cant kill the grove and i just want to make this playthrough enjoyable for me). i think him as a character is very prone to his father's pressure, so when he is asked to kill isobel, he feel obligated to. so its gonna be a resist, not resist, resist kind of deal. like after killing isobel hes like 'wow ive really grown to not like this..' lol when it comes to the grove, he sees himself in the scared children. in his lore, he was pressured by yk the temple of bhaal to BE bhaal's vision. so he became bhaals vision, as bhaal's chosen does. but kel was still a scared little boy under pressure. so when it comes to arabella, he sees her fear and doesnt know what he feels when he sees her, but what he is feeling is empathy. when it comes to orin, he was always the big distant brother, so absorbed in his own life and lust fo violence he never really bonded with her. he kind of just saw her as another person in the temple, and someone out of control, for that matter. in a way, he looked down on her for how easily taken over she was when it comes to her urge. the distance and the looking down is what made orin so hateful towards him. temple life for him was basically just intimidating others into doing what he wants, and he was praised for it. honestly if he wasnt engaging in violence, banging gortash or working on the master plan to take over the world or whatever, he was literally louging being treated like royalty. i picture him as elegant in a way? just oddly graceful. a BIG part of his character is the fact he has a lot of piercings and wears a lot of jewlery, so how i picture him is having nipple piercings and walking shirtless in the temple, and only wearing pants. even with just that, he is extremely talented in his violence, he can kill someone just in his 'casual wear.' another part of kel is he has LONG red hair, almost as long as orins. but he wears it down, and its wavy. he does wear it in a mix of braids and loose locks.

kel's personality is blunt, intimidating. like hes this BIG guy and he is an oathbreaker, so he has this unsettling aura to him. and he CONSTANTLY looks angry. but he just. has this soft spot for his companions. he'd never show it (unless its astarion later on), but ultimately it is his little found family. so he is overprotective of them in the end. at the beginning, he refuses connection.

when it comes to astarion, kel felt this bond over a craving for violence and blood. and kel had an immediate lust with astarion, just something about that vampire i swear. when kel found out astarion is a vampire, it became stronger because he also had that.. yk lust for blood in a similar way, this craving that could never be sated properly. so they bonded over that in their own fucked up way, but after a while kel just.. felt something deeper, past the lust and well, bloodlust, but he didnt know what it was. he thought it was a deep wanting to see his 'pretty corpse' (ref to first line when interacting with astarion as durge). but what he felt was love, deep, deep love. and only really expressed this to star AFTER the whole.. isobel kill your lover situation. so adding onto his fathers pressure was the threat of killing his lover, which he would do ANYTHING for star. astarion would say 'im cold' and kel would burn the whole world down, kind of love. like he LOVES this stupid twink vampire. and kel DESTROYS cazador. like he is in a fit of rage with astarion and lets astarion do the final blows, but im talking like. DESTROYS cazador. like pisses on his corpse and hangs it up for people to ridicule. and astarion and kel ultimately bond over that yk controlling, will never exscape presense in their lives (bhaal and cazador), if that makes sense. they bond over their hatred for their abusers and make a pact to each other to resist against what they were raised to be to be better for each other. so i think they are cute for that <3

i think kel also really bonded with each companion in their own ways, but mainly laezel and shadowheart. with laezel, its that need for battle, rn? and with shadowheart, its the memory thing. its HIS little fucked up found family and he will protect them with his LIFE. even as an oathbreaker, he made a quiet oath to protect them at all costs.

if you want PLEASE ask me more questions as i want to develop his lore like SO MUCH. but this is what i got so far. most of this i just developed as i typed out this post. but this is probably my favourite durge so far <3 i will drop art/pics if you want!

Thinking about team crimson again. This happens frequently its something of a curse of mine

Something i dont think we give crimson credit for is that he has in fact literally beaten dani in a fight more than once. It wasn't purely on his own power but it has happened. Crimson has a reputation for being kinda shit at fighting because he never does it by himself, always via proxies and hosts and whatnot, but like. Demonstrably with the right host hes Not Bad At It. Even with just his pokemon hes just kind of mid. With crimsonaut and a favorable ruleset he swept a tournament when crimsonaut by himself/in their early partnership couldn't beat GOOGLE PLUS in a fight. He took a game off Dani in hamhel's body and a game off her in val's, neither of whom have beaten her alone. Its just that both of those happened in season one and didnt end up mattering and every time hes lost to her its been such an embarrassing steamroll that we dont even think about it. Even his outside-battle victories like successfully distracting her with mark and malfunctioning machines while shantae was supposed to be killing sans end up not mattering due to happenstance.

But that captain crimson grudge match in season one fascinates me. In CPUK Reboot/10, Capn Crimson is very happy to have dani as a partner- has no issue with losing as long as she wins for them both, even bragging to his former host about the fact shes going to when hamhel finishes him off in losers. But when 11 rolls in, Crimson clearly becomes aware pretty quickly Dani isnt interested in being a team player and then is in the process of betraying him, (she isnt exactly being subtle about it she was pretty upfront about planning to kick his ass in finals the fact that we even call this a long con is overwhelmingly generous to Dani in retrospect. as johannsen says shes a fighter not a thinker,) but they start conflicting after she stops him from landing an attack on Rights, he challenges her to a spar, and when he wins (and its not even that close!!!) he just. Picks her back up. And they keep going like nothing happened. Like he just did that to let her get it out of her system. And Dani seems so MAD about it. The commentators later try to explain it as her deliberately throwing to get his guard down, but that. Doesnt really add up. Danth says it got worse after she beat crimson, but even back then she was depicted as someone who gets Very Very Mad about losing and people throwing in a serious competition. And that doesnt explain capn crim writing her team-killing off as just her being a gloryhound and then trying to????

Check in on her and kind of pleading with her to talk to him about why she's acting like this????????

To which she responds by ignoring him and telling the ref to start the match????????????????

And then (apparently, this is the 'we have bad sound equipment' era of cpuk where everything we knew for Certain was reliant on jenny's reporting and the commentators just sort of. openly speculated on anything jenny didn't catch until things made themselves clear, aka they decided on a direction to commit to,) shit-talking team chonk by saying that if capn crim warns them about her they should listen because shes gonna take this by herself and what else she says to them is so demoralizing that the fucking GRUNK loses his fighting spirit and flubs their match so bad the commentators wonder if she asked him and yopper to throw on purpose??????????????

And her so-called exorcism of him kinda just looking like crimson gave up????????????????????

I plan on drawing a ref EVENTUALLY but some of the core stuff i want to add is gorebek being younger and shorter because he got the operation done a couple years before torbek

and he gets it done willingly so its less of a botch job like toebek the pipes that go through his body are more neat i guess is the best word they look cooler and he has actual clothes that are also adapted for his new additions

im thinking hunter fit like torbek but also idk... I still want to incorporate the suit but idk how i hate designing clothes

For how they met they never had any pre operation interaction like no working at the carnival but he was released post operation like hey go hunt people trying to fuck with us and given the carnivals whereabouts or something idk and when he gets to the inn and threatens them and powers up torbek fronts and just immediately starts crying and hides gricko is the first to reach out and realize hey this dude is pretty chill and then they take care of torbek until gorebek fronts again

Gorebek in this is probably like early ouaw torbek whos very new to things and the world torbek is that but way worse they both only know operations and experiments and whatever they were told without really experiencing the outside world while gorebek socialized torbek literally never has in his existence (himself, probably has cofronted and seen gorebek talk but its different)

idk how exactly this would go but i feel like he would follow them at first after the fight being like yess yes evil secret intel and slowly get accepted into the found family realizing they actually care for him and dont treat him like a creature to test on unlike insert evil people (release the duke backstory after hiatus so i can make this more accurate pls ouaw)

i think this process would be WAY way longer for gorebek then it is for torbek torbek probably fronts more often and connects with everyone while gorebek rarely lets himself get the chance to bond with anyone

in this i dont think gorbek is like explicitly evil i think he is acting on his beliefs and can be more connected to the carnival then canon gore

but i think that connection will be very co dependent after being held for so long and being told he was a tool he would probably crave that feeling of being needed again even if its warped and fucked up and probably act out but also crave love and the acceptance like torbek gets so gorebeks relationships would all be extremely hot and cold and constantly changing while torbek is just chilling (mostly)

Gorebek is also very self destructive i can see a shit ton of stuff they do being fucked up because gorbeks ego takes over or he just doesnt care what happens to him or those around him and when torbek is fronting for quests hes just clumsy and still very unaware and fucks it up like that

In canon ouaw torbek gets smarter and more leader-y even if the group doesnt wanna go with what he says and i think gorebek would try to be like this but fail he would definitely get smarter and learn a lot but leader-y not so much i dont think he would plan anything and fail because of it

Talking about reverse gorebek makes me want to talk about canon gorebek parallels and how i think canon gorebek plans everything meticulously and is an extremely good leader because hes given the skills to because he doesn't front he controls the witchlight while reverse was thrown to the wolves without developing skills because he cant harvest it like torbek can but torbek was given up on like canon torbek and just kinda tossed out as well idk idk

Meet the Phighters!

This ref is a few weeks old and i revised some of their designs!! Just have a bit more of info dump of these 3!

As of this time.

Quiver

19yo/5'11

He/Him

An orphaned phighter that was found and taken under the wing of Chord and Punch

Although he "dislikes" Chord. This is just because he finds it frustrating that Chord is somewhat overprotective of him and doesnt allow a lot of opportunities (he has reasons)

He adapts very quickly to his environment thanks to his quick thinking and fast decision making

Quiver seemingly finds it easier to talk to/with Punch, often opening up and sharing a bit of his moments

Hes from Playground, an outer town that is.

Chord

The smarts of the team, as well as the more "adult" like demon

He mostly takes care of paperwork and tech stuff for the group

Mostly goes on solo infiltration missions and this causes both Quiver and Punch to worry a lot (They just care very much)

24yo/6'2

He/Him

Blackrock, but he easily gets cold even at 23c which is why he wears a lot of thick and layered clothes

Terrible sleep schedule due to a lot of projects and work he has to focus on 24/7

He kills his enemies so quickly no one is able to predict his next moves :3 (he actually plans everything from the start)

Punch

26yo/6'0

He/they

The most laid back of the group

Also the most dangerous for some reason. Hes a well known demon in the mercenary industry.

His past is pretty unclear to both Chord and Quiver, all that they know is that they ran away from Thieves Den and somehow ended up in this line of business to survive

He might seem intimidating at first, but hes got a soft heart inside.

He was the one to suggest taking in Quiver, and Chord only agreed due to begging from them.

He misses home

Their eyes are a special case, even he doesnt know how to use his powers properly. Its also the reason why they have a secret bounty on his head.

This is being written on mobile instead of computer lol.

Design made in Warrior cats: ultimate edition by yours truly.

Story warnings n shit; au and whatever, threw in one or my fankids. So yknow rei has a kid. (Actually a lot of the cast members do)

Since this is something i dont plan to have focus on in story, yall get a lil treat.

"Owlclaw, theres nothing we can do for her right now! We need to chase these rogues away!"

"My kit...! My baby...!"

"What are you on about..? She was FluffTuft's kit, not yours..."

Name: Owlclaw

Role: Warrior

Clan: Skyclan

Mate: Breezefur(Teruya)

Description: Harsh and Prideful ginger tabby she-cat. She has lost everything, but still keeps going. Rumors among apprentices say that she used to be mates with Flightwing, but he left her when Flufftuft joined the clan.

Side Story:

Leaf-bare was a cursed season. If it werent for the shelter of trees above, she certainly would've been buried in snow. Next to her belly was a squirming kit, nestling away in her fur and falling into a deep slumber.

"How in starclan's name am I going to explain this..." Owlclaw hissed to herself, "Breezefur is a thunderclan cat, and if..."

She trailed off and uncurled a bit, looking at the patchy orange-furred kit at her side. The she-kit let out a frustrated mewl at the movement and tried nestling further into her fur.

"If Breezefur brought Hawkkit back to thunderclan camp, theres a risk of Icestar killing her." Her heart sunk at the thought. "But if I show up with a kit, I'll be bombarded with questions or told to leave for having relations with another clan."

She trembled from the cold and from hunger. How long had she laid in the snow now? It was nearly sundown.

Pawsteps crunched in the snow nearby. With a tense glance, she spotted a blue-gray pelt, followed by a pale yellow one. Ones that she knew belonged to her clanmates.

"Hurry up, slowpoke!" Flufftuft's meow was boisterous enough that it could probably be heard all the way back in the old territories.

"Fluffffyyyyy!" Flightwing dragged out her name, only to pause, sniff the air, and narrow his eyes. "Do... do you smell that?"

The former kittypet came to a halt. "Smell wha...? Oh."

Owlclaw. pressed her hinds paws into the ground, twisting her body to grab Hawkkit's scruff and lift her. The moment she was about to run, a better idea sprang into mind.

Hawkkit mewled from being so suddenly awoken, alarming the two warriors even moreso.

Flufftuft got there first.

"Owlclaw...?" Her meow was even softer than Hawkkit's shaky mewls.

Flightwing was just a few pawsteps behind his mate. He froze in his steps.

"Please help me."

Story notes; her parents are pinefoot and sharpsight. She has half brothers in other clans-- deadheart(utsuro-riverclan) and dawnheart(yuki-windclan) due to her fathers infidelity. She had two stillborn littermates.

Her mentor was Daisytail(minako tomori) and she earned her warrior name for her perserverance and courage.

She met breezefur at the gathering when they were apprentices, but they would often see each other on border patrols as well.

Design notes; orange :3. Also, while it doesnt show in her WCUE design, she has really fluffy and curly fur. Like the typical overdramatic wc design fur, the fur between her ears is longer and spills over her face.

"I missed you... a lot"

It'd taken a good deal of time for Mariza and Delta's... relationship to even out after Mariza's ascension.

It'd taken the half desperate pleadings of someone far too exhausted to keep up a one sided fight for it to stop, a fire no longer fueled by oxygen left to smolder. Then they were left with what remained, a goddess who didn't know who she was, and a pirate who remembered everything but didn't know where to start.

So they started anyway, because when had they ever planned for anything?

The bottom of the ocean, contrary to the superstitions of sailors who'd never so much as swam a reef, was far more lively than an eternal quiet. Just because the cool depths only contained the echoes of humans didn't mean they were devoid of life, only human life. Though for some that didn't make a difference. It made the perfect spot for a mer and the embodiment of the ocean to sit and watch the world go by, the occasional curious fish swimming around Mariza's torso and extra limbs, weaving in and out as though the goddess were nothing but coral.

"Guess they like 'ya huh?"

Delta laughed as the guppy darted away from Mariza's claws, the goddess unable to contain a small chuckle of her own.

"Well, they know better than to be near a shark. I think they want me to protect them from you."

"Right, because I'm the more deadly of the two of us, you're ridiculous."

"I dunno," Mariza smiled impishly, "Those teeth of yours are pretty sharp."

"Mari. I've seen you bite boats in half. Come on."

Delta whacked Mariza with her fin, enough to push her forward, but no further than that. Of course, retaliation was swift, and those same tendrils that were a fish's playground wrapped around Delta's tail and hoisted her vertical, then in a loop. The cycle continued until both were cackling messes, throwing small handfuls of sand in each others' direction as they wheezed.

"Ha- haha- Can't believe you're this easily winded. Aren't you supposed to be a god?"

"Yeah well- I'm still- still getting used to it. It's not like I'm laughing all that much around Samira."

Ah, that pleasant company. Surely a more jovial presence you couldn't find.

"No kidding. I can't say that I've laughed this hard in a while either. I missed this."

Cold regret seeped into the waters around them. For what it was worth, Mariza tried to give a sarcastic half smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Did you now?"

Too late to pretend she didn't mean it now.

"I did. I missed you... a lot. When you slipped under the water... Thought I'd never see you again. But hey, lucky me, right?"

"Lucky that I didn't end up sinking you when you came up and hugged me out of the blue."

"Hey! How was I supposed to know you had all the memory of a brain-dead sunfish left?"

"Brain dead- HEY!"

The bickering continued, but Delta couldn't help the smile that clung to her face each time Mariza let out that laugh of hers, or looked away for a brief moment.

She really was lucky, huh?

It stung she still missed her, sometimes.
