Okay but actually. Like I can't remember if I've said it yet but an Idea I've had rattling around in my head about how everyone in Book 1 Kind Of feels like they're still forming their personalities and roles, which IRL explanation yeah! It's Book 1! That's fair! But IN UNIVERSE. It goes so crazy to me, to consider the implications of that. How both Alfonse and Sharena feel like fledglings. But also it feels like something ELSE is going on. Then you learn oooohhhh they were semi-recently severely traumatized by the unresolved disappearance of their comrade and dear friend (childhood friend, even!). Okay! So they're REALLY thrown off by that, both scrambling to like. Function. As the wound is still fresh, AND refuses to close up because of the lack of closure. Okay!

MAIN POINT: Their personalities here are more reflective of their current emotional response to a traumatic event!!! Hell, this goes for Anna too, as she's been at her wits end trying to hold everyone and everything together in the wake of it (losing a comrade who was meant to be HER responsibility, also)!!! Moe just fell into their laps at a bad time!!!!! Then again, when in Askr. Is there ever really truly a GOOD time for anything........

Upon hearing the booming voice, you speed up your brush on Minjeong's lips, applying the shade swiftly but flawlessly. A smile dances across her face, giggling at the speed in which you immediately upheld in response to her manager.

After finishing the final touches on Minjeong's makeup, you take a step back and hand her a small mirror, allowing her to get a closer look on your work before she nods her head in satisfactory.

You smile, and raise your head to call Aeri over to your chair, remembering that you had yet to apply her eyeliner. Nevertheless, your eyebrows furrow once you notice that only the two other members are standing in the room as their finale wardrobe touches were done.

You sigh, "Jimin, have you seen Aeri?"

She shrugs apologetically, as does Ning behind her, and you roll your eyes, knowing she most likely snuck off to some stupid tiny room that was unoccupied.

"I'll go look for her," you speak to no one, grabbing the eyeliner in case you were to find her.

Your nails scrape against the tan wall urgently, peeking your head in various doors, some even of other idol groups, until you finally find a closed one with dimmed lights. Your brain instantly made a connection, she always does this, so it becomes easier to find the girl after a few experiences.

A few knocks on the door, left unanswered, and you push the door ajar, eyes horizontal with the edge of the sliver exposed. You aren't given enough time to fully open the door before you are pulled abruptly by your arm, the door behind you slammed shut in a moment.

You feel your bad collide with the cool wall, one hand rushing up to your neck as the other finds its way to your waist.

"You kept me waiting for nine minutes," her whisper grazes the shell of your ear, "I counted."

Your gaze falls under Aeri's stare, pursing your lips.

"I had a job to do Aeri, and I still do," your hands find themselves on Aeri's shoulders before you push her back, applying unwanted space between the two of you, in which Aeri does not like.

"I forgot to apply your eyeliner, I need to do that before you go on stage."

Aeri shrugs her shoulders, evidently showcasing her unconcerned manner while she grabs you and insists you follow her a certain small couch. Your body attempts to pull away, but after Aeri tugs on you once more, your heart takes over and follows the Japanese girl.

"We are not doing this Aeri," you tease, taking the cap off of the eyeliner and settling on her lap.

"I am going to put this on you and then you'll go perform, no funny business," you assert sternly, cupping the bottom of the girls chin to press it up towards you, where you subsequently slide it past her cheek and lay it upon her jaw, getting in a comfortable position to finish her makeup.

"Why are we in an empty room together if there's no funny business allowed?" Aeri suggests playfully, hands referring back to its home on your waist.

"Because you decided to play hide and seek again and sneak in here", you tuck a strand of loosely fallen hair behind her ear, "so now I have to do your makeup like this."

Aeri rolls her eyes, tongue at the base of her lips eager for attention.

"Fine then", her hands trace along the base of your jeans, "you do my makeup... and I'll do my own thing."

You knew she was lying. You knew Aeri must have had something up her sleeve, as she always got what she want with you whether you liked it or not. It was like an unwritten rule in this "situationship" you had with the girl; she makes the orders, and you follow them, no matter in bed or at work.

But who cares, because as long as she allows you to finish up her makeup, your job is complete regardless of how it was done.

So you begin to outline her eyes, carefully tracing the tip along her skin to create a faultless stroke across the side of her eye. You find it hard to believe that Aeri is seriously allowing you do your job without pulling a few of your strings, so that's why you aren't surprised when the hands already resolved on your waist start to guide your hips back and fourth on her own thigh.

"Aeri stop, I need to do this," you comment, but she seems to be in a trance, watching your every move and feature, obsessed with how you look and the way you react to the pleasure.

Before Aeri can open the door and leave, you call out "wait", and she turns around to face you, waiting for what you had to say. You lean up and press your thumb down on the line that you had made by mistake previously, swiping it away in a swift motion.

Aeri thanks you kindly, connecting her lips with yours for one last kiss before she is finally on her way.

You fail to notice when Aeri takes a different way to the stage once the door is shut, racing herself to the bathroom to clean off the cum that had spilled from her own cunt when you reached your own high.

When Ysaline said they´d be at each other’s throats soon enough, she expected it within a week. Maybe two.

But not during the first session.

“With all due respect, the time schedule for the opening event will ruin the afterparty.” Jason stated, crossing his arms.

They were stuck in one of the Goldreams conference rooms for at least 4 hours. Cups of coffee and tea were scattered across the table.

A whiteboard with scribbles and letters, that nobody outside of the conversation would understand.

“With no respect at all, that is my problem, not yours. You don’t see me digging my fingers into the afterparty plan.” Ysaline snapped back, almost hissing.

The meeting started with Ysaline just giving a report of how things were going. The first draft of the opening event, timeslots and all.

Of course Jason could not resist criticising it all.

Or rather, why it was working against the afterparty.

“Why would you? It is perfect after all.” Jason smirked, his confident pose returning.

He was infuriating. But it was moments like these, Ysaline had to remember to stay professional. And talk back of course.

“If it’s so perfect, why haven’t you shared it?”

“It is confidential. Goldreams-members only.”

A long sigh escaped Ysaline.

Maybe Devon chose her on purpose, knowing that everybody else would punch Jason. Or worse.

“But that wasn’t the point! I already shared our plan, I need to know what’s happening on your end. How else will we ensure a smooth transition?”

“Guess you’ll have to get creative, kitten.” He purred.

He truly believed the afterparty could stand on its own. And maybe it could – it was hard to judge who guests would blame for, if the opening night and afterparty were too different. Whichever was more memorable had better chances.

And Jason was betting on his part.

Ysaline stared at him with a poker face. He shrugged back.

“You won’t collaborate then?” she asked one final time.

“At this moment? No. Thank you for the update though. It’s nice to have an impression on how things are going.”

And with that, Ysaline made an internal switch.

Two can play this game. And after all, she did learn a thing or two watching her mother handle difficult partners.

Ysaline then switched her poker face into the brightest smile she could possibly make.

She then grabbed her phone and connected it to the conference room.  Just so everybody inside could listen to whatever was going to happen.

Jason’s smirk was still plastered on his face, but a slight curiosity was visible as well.

And with that, Ysaline dialled a number.

The response was immediate.

“Ysaline, my dear!”

Don Suave´s voice was echoing across the conference room. Incredibly loud.

Jason looked at her startled.

“To what do I owe this pleasure? Oh, is it about your plan? I must tell you again how much I love it.” Don Suave continued, his voice very expressive as usual.

Ysaline could imagine him striking a pose on the other side of the phone. After every word.

“You’re too kind! Still, I am soooo sorry to disturb you, Mr. Suave. You see, it seems like I have run into a little problem…” Ysaline explained, never breaking eye contact with Jason. Who was now standing up.

“Oh no! Tell me, I will help you right away!”

“You see, I want to create the most magnificent opening event possible! Just as much as you do, really – but I can’t seem to get my hands on the afterparty plan in order to plan a smooth transition…”

It finally clicked in Jason’s mind.

He was starting to reach out, trying to grab her phone. His face visibly annoyed, whispering stop. But Ysaline kept escaping his reach.

From the outside they must have looked like children, running around the conference room, hissing at each other.

“Has Mr. Mendal not shared it with you?” Don Suave asked, his tone surprised.

“Excellent question. The thing is-“ Ysaline said, but Jason finally managed to snatch her phone.

Or rather, she finally allowed him to grab it.

“Mr. Suave! It seems like there was a misunderstanding…” Jason chimed in, trying to sound as polite as possible.

Despite the forced smile, his eyes were glaring at Ysaline.

She didn’t bother listening to their conversations.

It was just a few seconds of of course we will work together for the sake of the project and we will have an update for you tomorrow already.

When the conversation was over, Jason placed the phone back on the desk. Inhaling deeply.

“That was incredibly child-“

“Please. You’re just sore about losing.” Ysaline said, cutting him off and taking back her phone.

“You said get creative, so I did. Now…” she continued, reaching for her jacket.

“If you would so kiiiindly send me over the afterparty plan per email, that would be lovely. I’d hate to spend another hour here with you, so…”

Maybe she went a little far with that.

But he’s the one who started it.

Jason continued glaring at her annoyed and then broke it off with a sigh.

“I underestimated you. It won’t happen again.” He grunted, grabbing his jacket as well.

It was late already, with most of the office people gone. Tasha wanted to wait for her sister, but didn’t dare enter the conference room while they were wrangling each other with words.

Instead, she was getting some takeout food and was setting it up at Ysaline’s apartment.

Once Ysaline stepped outside Goldreams, she felt a little summer breeze caressing her face.

It was extremely pleasant. Arguing was draining, but worth getting the plans for.

She didn’t notice Jason stepping outside with her.

“Heading home? Or Devenementiel?” he asked, as if the previous ordeal never happened.

“Home. You’re exhausting.” She said, closing her eyes to enjoy the breeze.

“Too bad. I was going to suggest a nice restaurant across the street…”

She opened her eyes.

Something tore inside. Overtaking the previous feeling of success.

“No thank you.” She responded, trying to control her facial expression.

She was now properly pissed off. And didn’t bother trying to hide it from him either.

“You know that’s not true.”

There was this tension again. An uncomfortable silence.

She honestly preferred the previous argument over this.

“What do you mean? I was just suggesting dinner.” he said, shrugging.

It almost felt like she was back at his apartment.

“Then go have just dinner with somebody else.” Ysaline finally said, walking away.

“Preferably a person who doesn’t turn your life upside down. I know how much you value monotony.”

The last part was not necessary. But Jason’s usual indifference was infuriating.

He set the boundary. And yet he crossed it too.

Once confronted, the same justifications followed.

I did it for the project of course.

If he said something back, she did not hear it. Her pace was rushed, trying to get home as fast as possible without running.

At least Tasha would be there. And Ysaline was starving.

oh my god someone asked me about sasuke's characterization. holy shit my time has come. i hope you don't regret this because i'm about to be very annoying

it's such a broad question i didn't rly know where to start so i think i'm going to go through some popular misconceptions people have on various aspects of his character uhhhh

loyalty: not to be all 'sasuke never did anything wrong' but he didn't really do anything wrong. leaving the village and his friends behind was out of a belief that in order to avenge his clan he had to be far more powerful than he was as part of team 7. he was manipulated by itachi (love him tho) and orochimaru who deliberately exploited him as a very young child. he was also given absolutely no support to counteract these influences. kakashi tried to give him a speech, but it was far too little too late

sasuke coped with the loss of his clan by telling himself that being alone made him strong, and being around people made him weak-- because if he had bonds, he would have something he was afraid of losing. and to go after itachi he would have to have nothing to lose. it's not that he didn't care about his friends: it's that he cared so much that he knew they would get in the way of his goal

it's worth remembering that goal was the only reason he had survived up until that point, as he says when facing itachi at the hotel. i have a headcanon that he would have become suicidal if he hadn't fixated so hard on this goal and lived for it, and think itachi also thought this which is why he insisted on getting sasuke to hate him and have something to live for

friendships: a lot of people say sasuke doesn't care about his friends, mostly because he has tried to kill them (specifically naruto and sakura, also karin and he left the rest of taka/hebi behind). again, he does care, to a painful extent. during the fight against gaara's ichibi form, he says 'i won't let anyone else close to me die'. from their very first mission in land of waves, he's extremely protective of team 7 despite convincing himself that caring about people again will be his downfall

although he's already depressed and traumatized by the time he joins team 7, he grows fond of them very quickly and protects them with his life. he also indulges in their shenanigans even though he usually acts like he's above them... but he's just a child too after all. same with taka/hebi: sasuke is supposedly colder than ever by this point, but he helps his teammates and builds a dynamic with them despite always keeping them at arms length

yeah basically people mistake sasuke's quiet exterior and snarky comments for him not caring and use his darkest moments as proof of that. but he's just very introverted, naturally sarcastic and afraid of connecting with people due to his trauma and when he does snap it's because of how much he cares, not because he's a crazy violent murderer

morality: for the vast majority of the show, sasuke is vehemently against killing anyone and even ensures that no taka/hebi members kill either. kage summit arc sasuke is at his very lowest point: konoha had led him to kill the only family he had left after killing an entire clan and traumatizing him for life. it makes sense for him to have a breaking point

it's also worth remembering that here everyone (except naruto) had given up on him and were aiming to kill him. i'm not going to go as far as to say that sasuke fought out of self-defense, but it is clear that he was fighting not in his right mind

sasuke was right to kill danzo, who orchestrated the genocide of all of his people and allowed him to kill his brother who was also a victim of that system. he was also right to want to kill the elders who were similarly responsible. the only goal of his i don't agree with is wanting to destroy konoha which he states at final valley but i'm honestly not even sure how much his heart was in this. i think he just wanted naruto to fight him but that's a topic for another post

basically sasuke did nothing wrong umm anyways on to lighter (?) topics

personality: there's a common trend in this fandom that sasuke's quiet and tough exterior is entirely an act and that he's secretly very soft. i do agree that he's silly (dumb sense of humor similar to naruto's in a lot of ways) and obviously very caring, but i also think that he's genuinely very pragmatic, calculated, and introverted. i think that in a relationship though he would have moments of vulnerability, he still wouldn't be a desperate or submissive type. he shows affection by doing concrete things for other people and helping them even when not asked

his cold demeanor is partially a defense mechanism since he doesn't trust people after the massacre. but it's also because he doesn't place value in pleasantries or hierarchy, and (lovingly) has supbar social skills.

emotional intelligence: sasuke is more emotionally intelligent than people think he is. i think it's easy to see this from the few monologues we get from him, where he's very aware of his own emotions. i think his main issue is putting things into words and communicating his feelings, not that he doesn't understand them

bonus - sexuality: vaguely related to the last point??? but mostly silly, i think because of this emotional intelligence sasuke figured out he was gay pretty early. i mean... he never shows even feigned interest in any women, and no straight person dresses like that COME ON. i think he felt some guilt due to being the last uchiha with a duty to revive the bloodline, but that he also didn't imagine himself living long enough to have a relationship so it didn't really concern him

tldr sasuke is an extremely caring character who loves deeply and desires justice for those people. he's very mentally ill, mainly as a result of a government-sanctioned genocide against his people and being given absolutely no resources to cope with that. he's also incredibly gay. and i love him so mmuch god please put me down before i write anymore

He reminds me a lot of the characters in anime who are hopelessly optimistic! His efforts to embody the virtues of the heroes he admires could be a wonderful inspiration for a character in my manga. I think readers would resonate with someone who strives to make the world a better place, no matter how small their actions might seem."

"Jack-san's dedication to his duties as a butler is quite admirable. It’s clear he takes his responsibilities seriously, especially when it comes to looking after Daiki-kun. There's a certain respectability in the way he conducts himself, ensuring that Daiki-kun stays out of trouble. I can appreciate the effort he puts into guiding and protecting his charge. I can tell it's not an easy task, considering Daiki-kun's adventurous spirit, but Jack-san seems to manage it with a level of composure that’s commendable."

"However, I must admit, there's a part of me that's cautious about Jack-san. His extensive knowledge about Chuohku and the intricacies of our operations raises some questions. It's unusual for a butler, even one as evidently skilled as he is, to possess such information. While I have no concrete reason to doubt his intentions, his insight into Chuohku's affairs does make me wonder about his past and his connections. It's a reminder that we must always be mindful of who we trust, especially when it comes to matters of security and governance. Veiled Vanguard

"Veiled Vanguard is an intriguing team, to say the least. Their leader, Hisoka-san, has a checkered past that can't be ignored, and the other members, Daiki-kun and Jack-san, each bring their own unique backgrounds to the table. It's a diverse group, and their intentions, as well as their capabilities, are something I'm keeping a close eye on. Trust isn't given freely, especially when the safety and stability of Chuohku could be at stake. While I don't believe they pose a direct threat, their actions and their influence within the D.R.B. could have unforeseen consequences."

"As a member of Chuohku, I must consider all possibilities. Veiled Vanguard's emergence and their rapid rise in the ranks of the rap battle scene is something we didn’t anticipate. The daughter of Cameroon's president has shared an image in which she is kissing another woman, sparking mixed reactions in a country where same-sex relationships are illegal.

The Instagram post shows 26-year-old Brenda Biya embracing Brazillian model Layyons Valença.

"I’m crazy about you & I want the world to know,” Ms Biya wrote, adding a love heart emoji.

Her 91-year-old father, Paul Biya, became Cameroon's president in 1982 and is one of Africa's longest-ruling leaders.

Those engaging in same-sex acts or relationships in the Central African nation face up to five years in jail.

Ms Biya - a musician based abroad who goes by the name King Nasty - did not explicitly state her sexuality when posting the picture of the kiss.

However, some time after the image was published, Ms Biya shared an article from Le Monde, in which the French newspaper reported that she had "come out".

She also shared other messages from people expressing their support for her.

Transgender Cameroonian activist Shakiro was among those who praised Ms Biya, saying her Instagram post could be a "turning point for the LGBTQ+ community in Cameroon".

Shakiro said Ms Biya “is now positioning herself as a voice for social change in a country where taboos are deeply rooted".

Shakiro currently resides in Belgium. She sought asylum there after being convicted of “attempted homosexuality” in Cameroon.

Although Ms Biya has been praised by some, several social media users in Cameroon responded to her post with homophobic comments.

Some have speculated whether Ms Biya shared the picture in order to generate a buzz, given her reputation for publishing social media posts that spark controversy among Cameroonians.

There have also been questions about whether coming out is a privilege that can only be enjoyed by a select few in the country.

“I love this for Cameroon’s First Daughter,” LGBT activist Bandy Kiki said in a Facebook post.

“However, it highlights a harsh reality: Anti-LGBT laws in Cameroon disproportionately target the poor. Wealth and connections create a shield for some, while others face severe consequences.”

Human rights groups have previously criticised Cameroon’s strict laws against members of the LGBT community.

In 2022, Human Rights Watch urged Cameroon to “take urgent action to revoke this discriminatory law and to ensure that the human rights of all Cameroonians, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex characteristics, are upheld”.

Barrister Alice Nkom, a renowned human rights lawyer who defends LGBT people in Cameroon, said Ms Biya was a "model of courage" who is “sending an important universal message of love".

Most media outlets in Cameroon have not reported on Ms Biya's recent picture. The media regulatory body has been known to sanction publications and broadcasters for depictions of homosexuality.

The government - and President Biya himself - have not officially commented on the story either.

The BBC has contacted Ms Biya and is yet to receive a response.

In their previous life, Jieum and Chowon were indeed sisters, a detail they retain from the webtoon. Soha appears to be an officer or a member of the royal guard, while Mingi and DoHyun were of Royal status, forming the connection between the three characters. The sister’s relationship to them or who they were… I have little hunch on what they were exactly, but because they were hanging things and carrying baskets, they were from a much lower status than Mingi and DoHyun.

The bridge scene leaves some uncertainty about whom Jieum was looking at, either Mingi or DoHyun. Jieum was driven by a desire for vengeance, either directed at the person responsible for her sister's murder or the one she believes is responsible. It’s one of the two Royals. Soha seems to be a mere pawn following orders and ends up on the bridge, possibly trying to stop Jieum from attacking royalty, having been shot by an arrow from another guard protecting either Mingi or DoHyun.

Mingi, being of higher status, likely couldn’t marry Jieum or even faced rejection, but he evidently loved her deeply, as seen in the way he looks at her and how he acts around Soha. He is jealous of the attention she showed him and still does, even in another lives.

Though it is unclear if Jieum's feelings for Soha were fully developed, it appears that Soha was in love with her, and he is devastated by being unwillingly involved in Chowon's murder. It's possible that his emotions led to him being assigned to track the sisters. Mingi may have wanted to ensure they wouldn't end up together. If he couldn’t have Jieum, he probably wanted to make sure Soha wouldn’t either.

All four characters seem entangled in a web of karmic retribution. An overlooked aspect is the significance of the shaman bells and Jieum's mention of needing living people to worship the sky. Chowon's murder may not have been motivated by love, but rather, it may be connected to the shaman bells. It's unclear how these dots connect, but it's plausible that Chowon was targeted for a sacrificial reason as they go after both sisters, but their goal is to kill Chowon only. Jieum's steals the bells before trying to escape, so the shaman bells are related to the reason they were on the run or perhaps because they had a connection to shamanism themselves (this could explain their low status but proximity to royalty).

theyre both terrible captains. and that makes their relationship with the crew completely fucked. the captain is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the crew and neither of them are being shown to give a shit.

eds relationship with his crew hasnt evolved at all from when we first meet him. izzy tells him several crew members died carrying out eds orders to find stede. and eds like “well thats thats their job” then “edward if you dont do something were all were ALL gonna die” “hm theres an idea”. hes very experienced and intelligent but that doesnt help when youre reckless and working as an individual while still taking the title of leader. & not keeping people alive. i kept waiting for him to have any growth there but there was nothing. i wanted it so bad but nah. he said sorry to izzy only. cares about him but hasnt had anything with the rest of the crew. he needed moments individually to make amends i think

stedes relationship with his crew got way worse than it was in s1. he was always captaining when he shouldnt have been and responsible for their lives while leading them into danger beyond his ability to ensure their safety but at least he seemed like he cared about their happiness and saying “talk it through”. like there was room for improvement but he went the other way. with s2 its all become so hollow now. he just doesnt care about their feelings if ed is responsible for hurting them. stede not caring At All about lucius being alive was interesting to me. hes kinda just selfish. he sees only ed on an equal level to him and out of the whole crew only izzy really its true. he hasnt had much one-on-one with anyone else.

and then after ed tried to kill half the crew/kill people the other half of the crew love. and all decided their Feelings are “kick him off”. stede still chose ed. they always choose eachother over the crew. and Yeah it makes sense theyre in love. but theyre captains of a pirate ship with a huge target on all of them. but only looking out for the other one. the crew sees how theyre treated. theyre dissatisfied but resigned to their fates. the whole “eh whatever. the captains always get away with it and we just deal with what they put us through” conversation. and really Dont see those two as family at this point lets be real. ed and stede are too focused on each other to be a family to anyone except ed and stede. its true izzy is the only other family member you had it accurate the first time.

they could have changed that if any effort was put in at all but they havent gotten to that point. “oh these people love you oh theyre your family” you cant just write that in and have the crews actions this whole time leading up to that contradict it. just untrue. maybe it being the dying wish of someone who they did actually consider family helped their relationship? a little bit? izzy still picking up eds slack. but then in the end the crew just seem happier without ed and stede. those two arent team players they act as individuals. lone wolf

and thats FINE but not on a ship. having stede give them that push at the beginning of the show was great. to crack their shell a little bit is what started the crews overall growth and im sure they care a little bit about stede for that. and theyre soft people i know they have a lingering connection to them. but they have Not “talked it through” theyre literally “bottling it up” it sucks. theres hope but ed and stede have to reach out but they simply havent. really the way the show is written was the crew-minus-captains becoming family together and ed & stede going off on their own. unfortunate but its just the content of the show. i have a lot of thoughts about this im probably missing something. but the captains/crew relationship was so disappointingly lacking

Finding a community or professional support can be invaluable in dealing with parental peer pressure. Whether it’s through parenting groups, friends, or counseling, connecting with others provides a sense of solidarity and alternative perspectives that can validate personal parenting choices and strategies. Rather than enrolling children in activities based on what others are doing—a form of parental peer pressure—parents should encourage pursuits that genuinely interest their child. This approach not only supports the child’s individuality but also promotes intrinsic motivation and happiness, detached from societal comparisons. Social media platforms exacerbate parental peer pressure, as parents consume curated content that may not reflect the reality of parenting challenges.

Develop Decision-Making Skills When it Comes to Peer Pressure

Encourage them to be assertive and to stand up for themselves when they feel uncomfortable or pressured. The pressure to conform can be particularly strong in school environments, where social hierarchies and cliques can form around shared interests, clothing styles, and other factors. Children and teens may feel like they need to conform to fit alcoholism treatment in with a particular group, even if it means sacrificing their own preferences or values. If there are family rituals that are important to you, make sure your child understands them. For some families, eating dinner together is a part of their everyday routine and each person is expected to be there. Set clear limits regarding electronics or screen time and stick to them.

Although social media or TV will have you believe that parents are able to fully function in everyday life and still have significant time for their children, the truth of the matter is that this may not be achievable.

There can be a fear of rejection, not fitting in, or being left out.

Peer pressure is the influence wielded by people who are members of the same social group.

While peers become increasingly important during adolescence, parents continue to play a vital role.

For instance, a teen may need to say no to going to a movie if he or she has homework that needs to be done.

Some kids give in to peer pressure because they want to be liked or they think it helps them fit in. Some worry that other kids might tease them if they don’t go along with the group. They might go along if they think, “Everyone’s doing it,” even though https://ecosoberhouse.com/ they know better. Sometimes it’s easier to know the right thing to do than it is to do it. Thinking about it ahead of time helps you be ready to do what’s right.

Positive Peer Pressure

People make choices and engage in behaviors because they think it’s how they’ll fit in.

It is also the term used to describe the effect this influence has on a person to conform in order to be accepted by the group.

Emphasize your family values and work to provide a safe and secure environment for your child. I think it is helpful if we look at the definition of peer pressure. I emphasize that it is important that we do not use the word “force” because ultimately, we are responsible for our own actions and therefore, any of the consequences that may follow those actions.

Engaging in self-care activities is vital for parents to maintain their well-being, ensuring they have the emotional and physical energy to make decisions based on what’s best for their family, rather than external expectations.

But the best thing of all is to be yourself — even if it means being different from your peers.

Ensure they can watch themselves succeed with the effort they put into tasks.

Negative peer pressure, on the other hand, can lead your child to engage in risky or harmful behaviours, such as experimenting with drugs, skipping school, or engaging in bullying. If you suspect your kids are struggling with negative peer pressure, encourage them to talk to you.

Peers influence most aspects of a teen’s life,including how teens dress, what music they listen to, and what kind of activities they are involved in. Peer pressure can be direct or indirect, but it is almost always present. Learning to handle peer pressure helps a teen mature and learn positive ways to get along with others.

Practice

Teens empowered with tools to face challenging social situations gain important opportunities to express their values. They have confidence to do what’s right and skills needed for healthy future relationships. Many people think peer pressure is about one forceful teen demanding that another, “Try this…or I’m not hanging out with you.” what is indirect peer pressure It is actually far more subtle.

The good news is that you don’t have to just sit back and let it all happen to you. You should feel empowered to have conversations and employ strategies that help you manage harmful behavior. It’s important to keep the lines of communication open with your children when they’ve witnessed a disagreement or argument at a family gathering.

Reflection

Throughout this module, I have learned more about the role of a producer. As a producer, I am responsible for overseeing the entire film production process, from the initial concept to the final product. I work closely with the director and writer, influencing their roles significantly. Over the course of the term, we have gone from a blank sheet of paper to a fully developed film, which I am incredibly proud of, considering the challenges we faced to get to the final product.

Pre-production

The pre-production phase started off smoothly. The initial grouping of me, Ethan (Director), and Nick (Writer) was interesting, and I was looking forward to seeing what we could accomplish in the upcoming weeks. Not long after, we were grouped with our actors, Samuela and Jordan. The instant connection between us and the actors was evident, and they were willing to fully commit to this project. The collaboration between the team and the actors was instant, and we all shared and listened to each other's ideas. We saw this as an opportunity to involve everyone in the process, given that we had all been paired up so early on in the process.

what pushed the intitial ideas was the delgation of lines from the lecturers that we had to develop into a script/ story for our film.  what came out of the intitial meetings/ sessions was a detective esc drama/ horror that would play into the concept of the dark web/ red rooms. The actors loved this and offered ideas on the story and their charcters which helped us understand how to accomidate their style of acting.  A few weeks later we had gotten a first draft of the script from our writer and we all loved this initial concept. there was some feedack and issues from the lecturers about the idea of showing gore in the film (and logistically as a producer i was unsure of how to pull this off), so our writer went away and tweaked/ developed the script more. It was a battle to develop an idea/ script that not only the leacturers approved of, bt we could realistically pull off. There was conflicts between our writer, Me and the director, and the lecturers. what ended up happening was a major rewrite of the script, which understandably our writer did not like as his idea was comletyly changed. after a lot of debate and stuggle we finally made it out with a script that our writer and the lecturers could settle on and my job began.

Due to the script issues, my role as a producer was delayed, leading to issues that could have been avoided. While I was on top of paperwork and crew recruitment, location scouting became a significant challenge. We had been searching for locations that could resemble a detective office, but due to university policies, many suitable rooms were restricted and could not be used. Initially, we had planned to film in mid-October, but due to only securing a fitting location for November 1st, we had to change our plans. This change meant that equipment needed to be sorted, some crew members were swapped out due to conflicting schedules, and our actors needed to be made aware of these changes. This change in date meant we had to compromise and sacrifice our initial plans. Our actors informed us that they could only come to the set at 11 am, and one would have to leave before 5 pm. This meant I had to ensure that the call sheet and shooting schedule were changed, and we had to change the order of how this shoot would go.

Production

Call time for crew was 9:30am. I made sure to emphasize this as we needed to pick up kit the same time and would need all the crew to help. This early start also meant that we could set up and shoot some b-roll to avoid it biting into our time with the actors. It got to 9:30 and only 5 out of 12 crew members showed up. I was extremely disappointed and felt disrespected. What made it worse was nobody informed me that they would be late, and when they got to set an hour (or some people 2 hours) there was no apology or accountability. Looking back, I wish I had pulled my crew up on this, but due to the time being already wasted, I chose against it. This delay meant that the actors had arrived, and we were still setting up. This also meant that no b-roll was shot and would be scrapped to make sure we got our actors coverage. Shooting only started at 1pm which was not ideal. Luckily, we picked up our pace and when it came to the lunch break, we already had half of the coverage. After the break we knuckled down and got all of Samuela's coverage just before she had to leave at 5pm. After that we got all Jordans coverage and wrapped up with him around 6/6:30pm. Just as Ethan suggested we shoot some b-roll that was missed earlier in the day, certain crew members disregarded the idea and were adamant they had to leave (even though I had scheduled the shoot till 8pm). Before me or Ethan could respond, these members of the crew had already begun packing away their kit and not long after that left. These members of the crew were the same people who showed up late, which really angered me and Ethan. We felt like they had not respected us and the project and do not plan on working with them in the future. However, I want to express my deep gratitude to Flo, Jacob, and Ben for their unwavering support. They stuck around to help take down the set, pack away kit, and even offered to store items and return them with us the following Monday. Their dedication and support were truly appreciated.

Post-Prouction

Not a lot to say about post as it all went smoothly and there were no major issue with footage or sound. only issue would be the lack of b-roll for our editor to use due to certain crew leaving before it could be shot.

Working with actors earlier in the filming process can be helpful and allow you to tailor a film better when you have them in mind.

Final Thoughts

I have enjoyed this process, immersing myself in the intricate role of a producer and learning how to effectively collaborate with actors. This journey has been a source of immense determination and growth. A key lesson I've learned is the importance of being assertive and vocal about on-set issues, rather than letting them slide. This proactive approach will undoubtedly serve me well in future projects, helping me to prevent such issues from recurring.

Mariam runs a tire business in Saudi Arabia and often buys car tires from China. In the past, she used to fly all the way from Saudi Arabia to China to select products, negotiate prices, and inspect factories. After we handled her shipments several times, she visited our office in China and saw how we operate. That’s when I told her she could save future trips by letting us handle everything for her—from product selection to factory inspections. - Be respectful towards the server admin, mods and other respective members. Unnecessarily started arguments may result in your removal from the server.

- No discrimination towards the LGBT community, people of color, those with mental illnesses and so on. No form of transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, racism, etc. will be tolerated. This is meant to be a safe zone for everyone who comes and goes in this server, no matter how much time you've been in here for.

- No spamming in the server, including text, pictures, pings, etc. It's very much a hassle to clean up afterwards, and we'd rather avoid having to clear it out. Keep proper things in the proper channels as well, memes shouldn't go into the art channel and vice versa. You shouldn't be talking OOC in any of the roleplay channels, take it to one of the roleplay discussion channels or the general chat, even if you use OOC brackets in the RP channels. The no-spamming rule also applies to the "Roleplay Ping" role within the server, if it's believed that members use it as means to spam, then I will likely consider the removal of this role.

- No NSFW content in server outside of the 18+ channel, this is indeed an 18+ only server but NSFW topics are not to be the primary subject here. - This is a semi-literate to literate roleplay server, so a minimum of one paragraph (three to five sentences) is required per each roleplay response. There's no maximum to how much you need to write, so feel free to go ham if you'd like to, just ensure those who you're writing with can keep up with you. Should anyone write several paragraphs for you to respond to, don't just give them the exact amount of the bare minimum of one paragraph in return, because it really kills the writing mood and vibe in general.

- If anyone genuinely problematic is pulled into the server, inform the mods immediately and provide us with proof of them being problematic. If we have no proof to go by on, then there's not anything we can do. In the case we do receive proof of such, we mods will opt to be as fair as we possibly can manage to be to handling things.

No animated face claims will be permitted, as this is a Fallout server, not an anime server and we'd like to lean towards sticking to realism in terms of character apperances. Picrew / drawn face claims are acceptable, so long as they are realistic in appearance. The server password is "Ring-a-Ding-Ding!", spelled exactly like that if you're reading this, which you can find the channel to enter that into within the server itself, the exclaimation point included. AI generated face claims will NOT be permitted in server.

- The character limit in general is six, whether it be all canons, all OCs or a mix of both. Taking characters who have close connections to each other is not allowed to prevent self-roleplaying.

- For canon and OC submissions, we have our own server template that we require you to use, attempting to use your own template instead of the one we've made will result in your character, regardless of if they're a canon or original, being denied approval from the mod team. You can either post the completed submission in a Discord thread or a Google Doc.

You have identified an enormous problem in our society, which is the broken nature of our identity system and the federal policy and infrastructure that surrounds it. Politically, it is just not possible to create a better solution right now - look no further than the political challenges moving to Real ID. These shortcomings have forced everyone to find alternatives, which unfortunately frequently do rely upon the credit system in America. And that’s not just private industry, but the government itself points to credit-system-based identity challenge questions as a best practice. This is the real issue that deserves your passion and what I have personally committed my own energies to improving. 

All of that said, RON and Notarize do have solutions to these issues. First and foremost, RON is an option and not a mandate. Anyone can still transact in paper, no company can force anyone into a digital experience. Second, the laws still allow for a known prior relationship with the notary. Third, they account for the concept of a Credible Witness which is someone who completes identity verification and attests to the person’s identity, etc. For all of these reasons, I believe that RON has better addressed these issues than almost any other digital service as we not only have practical solutions, but a legal framework that allows industries to transact even when issues arise. I’ll note, the issues are not just impacting minority communities, but people with a damaged drivers license, older webcams that can’t capture a good image of an ID, victims of domestic abuse who don’t have their paperwork, etc. Some people simply cannot pass a digital identity verification process for a long list of reasons. This is a problem much greater than online notary and the National Institute of Science and Technology is constantly updating their guidelines, recently publishing a new IAL2 standard for Remote Proofing that addresses these very issues. We are the first and only platform to be audited and certified IAL2 compliant.

We have made an enormous investment in these issues. We are fully compliant with web accessibility standards for the hearing, vision, or physically impaired. We have passed legislation to allow for language translation for ESL communities. We also provide notaries who speak other languages and will soon translate our apps too. 

And our product isn’t our only tool, so is our advocacy. We’ve worked to overturn racial covenants in property deeds. And when it doesn’t even make sense for something to be notarized, we advocate accordingly. For example, we’ve successfully removed requirements that battered women notarize a form to file a restraining order. 

We’ve conducted studies with the Urban Institute making clear there are real issues of access to notaries by socioeconomic status, race, and geography. To be explicit, poor people in minority communities have worse access to notaries. Rural communities too. Our armed service members and their families have extreme difficulty. The Spanish speaking community is often defrauded by Notarios Publicos pretending to be attorneys (common in Latin America). A notary unlocks countless government services, financial programs, etc. It is not acceptable that some people need to spend an entire day to complete a critical transaction. And most notaries are only available during business hours, making them inaccessible to anyone whose job is inflexible and extremely costly to anyone paid hourly. RON levels the playing field so anyone, irrespective of language, location, or ability, can instantly gain access to the services they need to complete a transaction in minutes instead of hours. And our platform and the regulations we’ve helped to pass ensure that people who lack what is required to identify themselves still have the ability to connect.  

I do have other concerns (and this is something I’ve said for years) - industry cannot create price or other incentives that disadvantage people who cannot transact digitally. For example, it is well established now that a digital mortgage closing saves real cost for the lender and title company. Everyone feels that the cost saving should be passed to the consumer, which is a just intent, but that very well could constitute an unfair practice. Those cost savings need to accrue to the whole operation and provide cost savings globally, irrespective of closing method, for example. I’ve advocated for policy around this for many years.

Regarding fraud, we have made an enormous investment here and will be sharing a great deal on this soon, but we are successfully capturing things like deep fakes, synthetic identities, etc. We also provide a complete chain of custody, ensuring documents are not altered or stolen, copies are not retained, etc. And we provide a total evidentiary trail of the transaction, for which we’ve received acknowledgement from groups like the Attorney General Alliance for assisting with things like election fraud.
