I'm such a radio slut. i love radio. I love radio shows!!! I love scripted radio i love talk shows i love panel shows!!!

I have the cassettes of some old timey radio shows (detective and country shows). But america needs more radio shows like in the 1900s. superman and the shadow and the like.

I got stuck with Prairie Home Companion (which ended in 2016 after being on the air SINCE 1974!!), which is fine. It's comfy. A variety show with music and weird little country stories. They had FAKE SPONSORS it was HILARIOUS.

And Says You! (my FAVORITE radio show, a panel show that was a word/trivia game!)

dont tell me podcasts are the same they are not. i want to turn on my radio and stumble across a random scripted drama or game show as if i turned on my TV and was just channel surfing.

Doesn't the BBC still make radio dramas?? do those still AIR ON RADIO? i listened to Cabin Pressure but obviously i got the mp3 files but did it actually like, broadcast???

Homelander x fem!reader

Reader making a mix tape for Homelander and explaining the symbolism of making a mix tape

"You-" Homelander's voice cracks as he holds the cassette up for inspection. "You made this for me?" "Yeah, I just thought you might like some of these songs and I know the cabin has an old cassette player, so I just thought..." You trail off, cheeks turning brighter the longer you stand there. Homelander is staring at the tape, held between forefinger and thumb. He's blinking rapidly. "You don't have to listen to it, or whatever-" You start again, nerves putting a small quaver in your voice. It's stupid, is left unsaid but you think it all the same. Previous partners have said as much. "No, no. This is a cassette tape. You even decorated it." He flips the cassette over, taking in the designs across the label and the extra stickers. Lots of stars and stripes. Campey and cute. "You took the time to use this old tech for me?" Finally, Homelander's eyes settle on your face. "Ah, yeah. I just wanted to make you something. It- It wasn't so hard. There's software that makes mixing tracks easy and transferring it to a cassette only takes the proper wiring," You go on in a rush, eager to explain that tidbit from your hobby now that Homelander is watching you with a bit of wonder. He doesn't say thank you aloud. That's not his way. Instead, Homelander tugs you close to nuzzle his nose against your own before kissing you.

So question, how do the Cassettes work?

Like I get that they're Minicons, but they also live inside Soundwave, with their alt modes being specifically for storage and audio playback inside Soundwave's chest. I mean I can buy that Soundwave might have had that compartment built in for them, but how does that work for them?

Were they built specifically for Soundwave? Did they change their alt modes to become cassettes? Why? Or was it just coincidence that they happened to already turn into those? And on Soundwave's side of things, did he already have that chest compartment before the Cassettes or did he get that later? Did he always have the Cassettes?

I know the answers vary between continuities; I think in TFP the Cassettes resided on him rather than in him, in TFA he probably built them himself, and I think in some continuities he might not even have them. But the Cassette situation is strange to me and I want to know how it's supposed to work, especially in situations where they were all their own things before meeting, like in IDW

Starting off well known and easy—Soundwave, though seemingly adverse to being touched, much enjoys physical contact from the mechs he cares about. Touch is reassuring and comforting, it also provides a means of grounding himself when his senses overwhelm him. When Ravage is around, they are attached at the hip. Ravage is pressed against his leg, curled up on his lap, or draped over his shoulders (being able to not only hear, but feel Ravage’s spark pulse is comforting to Soundwave, and Ravage knowing that Soundwave is safe with her again. It’s mutual reassurance).

Ravage butts her head against Soundwave when showing affection. She nuzzles into his palm or under his chin, and Soundwave will nuzzle back. He bumps his head against his other cassettes and loved ones as a way of affection because Ravage does it to him (on that same note, Ravage will roughly butt her nose against Soundwave to get his attention or to reprimand him if he’s done something she does not approve of).

Grooming is a very high form of affection between Soundwave and all his cassettes. Whether it just to pick flecks of dirt out between Ravage’s plating or use sharp claws to dig into hard to get places on Soundwave’s frame, keeping one another well maintained is love. They will take family baths together where they all soak in a hot oil bath with an obscene amount of bubbles. They’ll lie in the oil for hours and hours enjoying the comfort and company. And pile bubbles on top of whichever cassette is closest. (when Soundwave was much younger and much less adept at keeping himself clean, Ravage would grab Soundwave and clean his face as if she was grooming a kitten. She still does it sometimes, much to Soundwave protest).

Soundwave, much like Ravage, rarely takes full rest cycles and instead just takes short naps whenever he can. Because of this, they take naps together all the time. Soundwave is Ravage’s personal space heater, and she will sprawl overtop of him to take a nap. If Ravage falls asleep, Soundwave will follow soon after (Ravage knows this and takes advantage of it when Soundwave is overworking himself. He cannot resist the pull of a sleepy Ravage. No work. Just Naptime).

Inbetween trips to my sides of the family this week so I don't have much energy to work on the card game but I've been wondering! What do you guys think are the Iconic Beasts? The Pikachus and Charizards of Cassette Beasts.

Magicrab, pombomb, and the starters are mostly obvious answers but other ones I've noticed that get a lot of fan attention are Domminoth and Dandylion.

I want to know people's answers to help me focus in on the first beasts to drill down into concrete cards. I have a list of ones that I want to work on but I want to know what beasts you guys want to see sooner rather than later.
