I said it once and I'll say it again, Shadowbringers was the lightning in the bottle for FFXIV. We were going to a new shard with new possibilities, we just didn't know it yet. The trailer showed of Thancred with one of the series most ICONIC weapons and MINFILIA was somehow fucking back!? Y'shtola was suddenly called Master Matoya which ignited the theory crafting train to wonder if their souls would somehow merge (this proved to be wrong obviously but at the time we didn't know what the fuck was happening), the Crystal Tower was a main focus but we didn't know how yet, the Crystal Exarch was mysterious and still took a couple months before anyone even began to speculate he was actually G'raha, there was a long period where Healers were about to start a Riot because they were down right CERTAIN Dancer was going to be a healing job, Dark Knight the community regarded best written job was a central figure, the War with Garlemald was still firing up as Ghimlyt Dark didn't hit juuust yet, Gaius had just been re-revealed, and the Scions were being dragged away by the mysterious Calling, Elidibus hijacked Zenos's body and Varis had gone stircrazy, Solus was revealed to be an Ascian and up to no good, naturally. And lastly it felt like, for the first time, the story was going to make the Warrior of Light and company the BAD GUYS!?! How!? Are we working WITH the Ascians to fight the light here!? Hydaelyn and Zodiark were PRIMALS!? We had no goddamn clue but MOST importantly of all...Urianger was practically naked so the thirst train that started in Heavensward derailed and drove straight through the fandom taking many of them with it as it just went fucking hard. The fact that it ended up having the best story in theme, atmosphere, and the biggest knee to the gut from level 78 - 80 was SPECTACULAR.
I don't think anything will hit like Shadowbringers did ever again.

Writerly Questionnaire!
thank you @davycoquette for tagging me :3
About You
When did you start writing?
I started when I was a lil kid, probably about 6 years old!
Are the genres/themes you enjoy reading different from the ones you write?
No, they're much the same! Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, mystery :3
Can you tell me a little about your writing space(s)? (Room, coffee shop, desk, etc.)
It's just me n my laptop wherever we end up! Usually on the couch or in bed! I love writing in coffee shops but I'm often too anxious to be around other people ^^;
What’s your most effective way to muster up some muse?
Playlists, baby!! Or watching/reading something that scratches the same itch as the stuff I wanna write. Usually some good horror :3
Did the place(s) you grew up in influence the people and places you write about?
Oh, absolutely! My works are very Australian in nature!
Are there any recurring themes in your writing, and if so, do they surprise you at all?
There's themes of uhhhh.... isolation vs. connection, that's one that comes up a lot. Mental and physical illness too. The bendy nature of reality. Anti-capitalism. I'm often surprised when the same themes pop up over multiple works, since I don't often plan it that way haha
Your Characters
Would you please tell me about your current favorite character? (Current WIP, past WIP, never used, etc.)
My favourite character currently is Alex! Alex is from "A Rental Car takes a Left Down Rake Street and Disappears". It's a vampire lawyer who preys on despicable predators human society will never hold accountable. Alex is an intensely private person who prefers to keep to itself, but it's also deeply kind and always looking to help others when it can. It enjoys gardening, sleight of hand magic and expensive wines :3 Alex has my favourite character arc in the trilogy!!
Which of your characters do you think you’d be friends with in real life?
Ripley!! Her sense of humour is similar to my IRL best friend's. She's loud, boisterous and silly, and the fact that she talks so much means I wouldn't have to talk as much which is always a bonus c:
Which of your characters would you dislike the most if you met them?
Quinn. They're such a shady bastard. They'd hate me and I'd be scared of them lmao
How do you picture them? (As real people you imagined, as models/actors who exist in real life, as imaginary artwork, as artwork you made or commissioned, anime style, etc.)
Here they are!
The characters of my two main projects, drawn by me :3 A Rental Car takes a Left Down Rake Street and Disappears on the top and All the Doors are Open on the bottom!
Your Writing
What’s your reason for writing?
It's my way of communicating with the world and connecting to others!
Is there a specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating coming from your readers?
When people tell me they resonate with my stories in terms of, like, shared experiences... I love that! Some of the comments I still think about all the time have been from fellow psychosis-havers telling me they resonate with my depictions of psychosis or that my stories made them feel less alone. But I adore all comments!
How do you want to be thought of by those who read your work? (For example: as a literary genius, or as a writer who “gets” the human condition; as a talented worldbuilder, as a role model, etc.)
I wanna be thought of as... spooky... >:3
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
Characters and worldbuilding! By worldbuilding I don't mean Creating Worlds (I suck at that) but crafting unique premises and putting my own spin on things like vampire lore and interdimensional portals :3
How do you feel about your own writing? (Answer in whatever way you interpret this question.)
I'm very happy with it!
If you were the last person on earth and knew your writing would never be read by another human, would you still write?
Probly. I think I'd go stircrazy without it. It's my way of understanding and processing the world and my feelings on it. Plus I'd get bored otherwise.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely what you enjoy? If it’s a mix of the two, which holds the most influence?
Both! But I'd say I mostly focus on what I might enjoy!

Because I see this sentiment a lot:
So, TES is a video game series. Open-world fantasy. That’s the simple part. Thing is, because it’s been around since the 90′s and subject to a lot of lore and feature creep, there’s a LOT of random BS magic floating around in the history. That’s where comments like “The PC in TES3 being able to save and load the game is canon”, “khajiit are a sapient race that includes everything from housecats to the full spectrum of furry art”, or “elves are actually interdimensional demons brought to our world and they’re trying to destroy it in order to go home” come from, they’re players or devs patching inconsistencies between games or setting up lore for various purposes. And the older games were not afraid of getting weird with it, which has carried forward to influence the games today.
But the games are kind of unique to the genre of open-world RPGs in that they have meh story but let you do a lot of different things, so fans kind of build their own experience even before mods get involved. There’s jokes about ignoring the main quest because it’s truly not the point. You can ignore it completely without issue, and many people do. But doing that and building your own experience means that when one player is talking about their game where they married a beggar and turned him into a major political power, it’s unclear unless someone is very knowledgeable exactly what parts of that are headcanon, which are mods, and which are the player exploiting various existing systems for their own purposes.
The games are also extremely modable. And they have to be, they’re glitchy as hell without fan-made mods. But needing the Unofficial Patch means that most players on PC learn how to download mods, which means that some other fixes are relatively common.*
And players not really having other options to play means that we have to put up with stuff that would be dealbreakers in other games(severe glitches, shallow content, etc), but that also means that stuff gets discussed to death because it’s such a glaring issue. Combine with no new releases in over a decade, just the same game with more DLC on every platform in existence, and you can see why fans are getting stircrazy. But the more people dig into the games looking for new stuff to talk about, the more people figure out that really makes no sense, thereby confusing everyone who doesn’t follow the lore of these games excessively.
*That’s what the above is referencing, Serena(vampire female DLC companion shown above) is non-romanceable in the base game. Many players dislike this and have downloaded a mod to make her into a love interest, with or without a NSFW option. Other people dislike this for ethical reasons. Her dad is an asshole villain(but also someone certain people want to call Daddy) so KS is going to mod the game to put him in a sexualized outfit instead of doing anything to Serena.

An Unusual Investigation
(Been a while but I promise I live
Spencer isn't allowed to go to work because he got shot in the knee (no more adventuring for you, mister). So instead Tsuki and him go and indulge in a much smaller investigation.
Masterlist
One Dark Day (Chapter 13) )
In light of having both her best friend and her nephew having to go into witness protection, Tsuki seemed to have thrown herself into taking care of her temporarily disabled boyfriend, which for the most part Spencer found he didn't particularly mind. It was nice to be fussed over, knowing someone cared and wanted him to be okay and recover safely. Of course this didn't mean he was entirely fine with just trying to get better; the man found himself antsy with the idea that he shouldn't move around a lot and more so with the thought that he couldn't go with his team on any cases until a doctor cleared him. And Getsu for all of his aspects seemed stubborn about clearing him for duty. He could in all reality only do so much for himself without assistance and even once he was allowed to properly transition from wheelchair, which had been a special sort of annoyance for him, to crutches which in all honesty weren't much better in his opinion, he was still resisted in many ways. She was in many ways his saving grace, one of the reasons the brilliant profiler didn't go immediately stircrazy from his forced confinement.
A collection of books, different than the one from the day before, sat before him on the table in his living room, waiting to be read no doubt by him. From the kitchen came the sound of someone singing and the smell of various breakfast foods being cooked. Spencer himself sat as comfortable as possible for him in the current state of things, mulling over to himself the decision of which book to start with. It was after all a far more acceptable thing than the thoughts he had been having since the day of his injury, since the day they found out Hotch had been attacked and that the people their leader loved were in danger.
Namely George Foyet. If Spencer let himself be free of any other thought, separated from distractions and things that could better fill his mind, it always wandered back to the Boston Reaper. It was not as if serial killers didn't sometimes evade arrest but very few had pulled off what that monster had: he escaped from prison, a plotted event that he had been working on for years despite having only just been arrested. The assumption the man was intelligent was, in the face of that, feeling very much like an understatement, but worse of all was how that intellect was turned. He could have been free to live a life again, to do as he pleased, but Spencer knew that the compulsions of a killer were not so simply handled as that. Nor was the need for revenge he supposed, against the agent who had chosen to look him in the eye and defy him without hesitation; Aaron Hotchner dealt with monsters on a regular basis, their stalwart leader, unbothered, unbending to those they hunted, but look where that got him. Not that Spencer in any form blamed Hotch for anything that had happened, there was no blame on anyone but Foyet for the man's actions. It was simply fact that in his denial of Foyet's need for control he had made himself the monster's focus and if they had learned anything it was that to be a serial killer's focus was never a good thing. Whether good or bad now, it seemed always to end with pain and violence in the end.
But it did not end with simply Hotch and Spencer knew that; he should have been focusing on the books but he was already lost back to thought and glanced over at the kitchen. Abby and her son had been tangled up in this as well and part of him felt bad for Tsuki. He still knew only a little of the friendship between the two women but memories of the day he had found her in the Library of Congress and the way Abby had reacted made clear to him that it was a true, strong friendship. Abby had been willing to fight for Tsuki, be angry for her in the face of her own monster, and now because of the relationship with Hotch, Abby's life was upended and disrupted. Her and her son had to be put into protective custody, hidden away, and though Tsuki seemed to be focused on helping him and making sure he was okay, he had no doubt that the rest of what had happened and been revealed that day still weighed heavy on her heart and mind. In that way George Foyet had successfully harmed more people than he perhaps meant to and made himself even more of an enemy to the genius who wanted to make sure his career did as little damage to the woman he loved as possible.
“Alright, breakfast is served!” Tsuki sounded as chipper as ever, and as was normal for him now, he pulled from the depths of his thoughts and contemplation to return to the reality in which she existed.
She was smiling as she brought him over a plate covered in eggs, toast, sausage, a traditional type of breakfast that made his mouth and a smile appear on his face as well. There really was something wonderful about the experience of homemade food and she set the plate down for him before going back to grab her own food; eating while they sat and read was not an uncommon thing, nor doing so while watching some movie or show they both enjoyed. Especially with the way things had been of late with his injury they often spent time doing so, though she insisted on having him moving around as well once he got his crutches, to allow his muscles not to atrophy in his recovery. He did not argue; he was in fact in agreement though did on occasion stoop to pouting when he would much rather cuddle with her than take a walk outside. Tsuki was somehow both allowing and found ways to get him to do it anyway, usually by promising they could cuddle after the walk.
He watched her leave then come back, some vestiges of the things on his mind still there, and when she sat down beside him, Spencer quickly placed a kiss on the top of her head, causing her to look at him with some confusion. “Spencer?”
“What, I was just showing affection,” he said innocently; he knew she worried when he thought too much about the situation with Hotch and Abby, he didn't want her to worry, “Am I not allowed to show you love?”
“Of course you can, silly; I can just tell that was more than just about being loving.” Her smile didn't change but he supposed he should have seen that coming ultimately; she was nothing if not perceptive, a quality he had only come to notice more in the time he had had to spend with her helping him out. But she noticed of course when he had been exhausted and needed rest, what felt like a lifetime ago now, and often seemed to pick on cues he wasn't entirely aware of giving himself. As with most things she seemed content to let him tell her things in his own time instead of push him on them, but it didn't mean she didn't seem to notice them nevertheless.
A small sigh left him and he rested his head on hers. “I want to be able to go back to work.”
“Aw, have you gotten tired of spending time with me?”
Her tone was entirely teasing but he still jumped, as much as he was capable at the moment, and gave her a half scared wide eyed look. “N-no of course not! I love spending time with you; I didn't mean it like that!”
“I know Spencer, I'm picking on you,” she told him, smiling at him then took a bite of her food; she gave him a slight look and he blushed before doing the same.
He did understand she was teasing him, he could tell as much; didn't mean he couldn't feel bad about that idea even being possibly in her mind. Call it hypervigiliance, because of her past, because of the person her last boyfriend was, because while he'd had some relationships in the past, he still found himself nervous and apprehensive. Spencer didn't wish to mess anything up when it came to this and there was a part of him that was worried he still might, no matter how understanding Tsuki seemed about all his quirks and issues.
“The food is good,” he muttered meekly.
“Thank you, Spencer, I'm glad you like it,” she answered smiling.
He returned it and allowed himself to slip into thought, all the things already on his mind, all the things that were finding their way into his conscious space. He was recovering but he felt it was not fast enough, that he needed to get better quicker because no doubt Hotch, despite being in a far worse state than Spencer that day, likely already had returned to work. Or at least was trying. He did not wish to be the weak link, he'd already neglected his work enough to last a lifetime and he wanted to go back to doing what he did best: catch criminals and save lives. He wanted to return to work so he could help capture Foyet and bring this horrible situation to an end, he wanted Haley and Jack and Abby and Tyler to be able to come home, he wanted Hotch and Tsuki to not worry. Spencer wanted to go back to being Doctor Spencer Reid, genius profiler, rather than the man with the shot knee who admittedly did indeed need to take time and recover effectively.
“They'll call you if they need you, Spencer.” It was remarkable to him, no matter how many times it happened, that all it took was some words from her and he was removed from the spiral of thought. The man looked at his girlfriend, still enjoying her meal.
He sighed some. “I know they will; I simply wish they didn't need to call me, that I could be there with them, helping out.”
“I'm sure they wish the same thing; you're an integral part of their team, and especially right now they probably are thinking how much they wish you were with them, helping to hunt the bad guys and save lives. But for you to be able to rejoin them you need to recover and worrying and thinking about all the bad things will certainly not help with recovery.” With that she gave him a kiss to the forehead. There was not real resolution to this problem, they both knew that; Spencer could not go join the BAU team again until he was cleared and unless called he couldn't help them for now. His focus needed to be on getting better even if it was really on getting back to work. They both knew this but he knew she couldn't really fault him for being stuck on things.
Once breakfast was done with time came for the first walk of the day, which for the most part he wasn't especially excited by but again Tsuki reminded him of the need for exercise while he was getting better. So with minor grumbles and little complaining the genius and his bookseller got dressed, grabbed the crutches, and set out to take a walk around the neighborhood. The sun was shining but the weather was mild, a pleasant enough breeze blowing over the city while the two walked. Others were out and about too though it was around the time most would be at work so the number of people was not as high as it could be.
Spencer took note of how much more of the city and world he could see and take in when moving at a slower rate. There was no rush to movement, as he could only walk so fast on crutches, and thus it took extra time to pass by buildings, people, everything; he had more time to take in details, many he'd seen before in his years of living there, but realized that he had never really thought about. More often his mind was filled with thoughts of work, of murderers and fiends hunting innocents, and not so innocents, that he needed to get to the BAU to help capture and secure. But there was no such need on a walk with Tsuki and his mind was able to focus on the little things, the things he often ignored or dismissed in his normal days.
For instance he had noted in the last few days that there was a stray dog that seemed to have taken up residence near his apartment, a scraggly mutt of breed far too diluted to be certain of; from what he had gathered so far it was not a very friendly animal, likely a combination of abuse in the last and the general temperament of a feral creature. Most days it hid in alleyways and behind things, scampering out to grab food that fell to the ground and scampering back to avoid humans. He was certain that most people were aware of it's existence but choose to ignore it in light of their own lives and needs; it was a creature left adrift in the streets of the city and Spencer realized that he too choose to ignore it.
Tsuki did not. Every time they saw the beast she would smile and wave at it; she liked to pack snacks for them on their walk, in case they felt peckish, and thus would throw the dog something, a bit of sandwich that she later eat the rest of, some cheese. He had asked her once why she did this and her answer was along the lines of that she hoped it allowed the dog to trust her eventually so she might be able to get it to her brother, a confusing thing until she explained that her brother Getsu was not her only medically trained sibling. Another brother was a vet and she had in the past brought him other animals she found so he could figure out the best way to tend to them and get them a good life; based on the way she talked of him she seemed to have great faith in this sibling and Spencer almost felt jealous but knew she too had faith in him and there was never any need to be jealous of a sibling.
Point was he had noticed the dog before and thus in finding no trace of it as they moved past the usual area it tended to be, a part of his brain started to itch and feel concerned. Of course there were a thousand and one ways in which this could be fine and a hundred more for why he shouldn't feel concerned, but perhaps because of being stuck unable to go to work for so long, maybe because of the things he had been thinking about earlier that still lurked in the corners of his mind, he could not shake an unease that made his eyes linger a little too long on the alley in hopes of catching some glimpse of what might have happened.
“The dog isn't here today.” So Tsuki picked up on it too, not that he was especially surprised; he found her looking over at the alley as well and he realized they had stopped moving, standing there and staring together before she turned her attention back up to him. Her expression was calm, seeming to be searching for some idea in his face of what he might be thinking; there was a long pause before she continued, “Do you want to go look?”
“I can't guarantee how well I'll be able to move in that alley,” he said and realized that was not a no; it was more of a statement of potential difficulty that they both already knew of.
She nodded. “Understood.”
“I can try my best though.” Tsuki's smile was likely not so much about him agreeing but either way it made him smile a little as well and the couple made their way over, carefully and slowly as they did any other walk.
The alley was in no way special, exactly the way any other might be. A spark in his mind thought of the video feed Garcia had shown them of when Theodore had chased Tsuki and how similar this one was to the ones she had escaped through; he choose to bury that thought deep and not let it take serious root. Tsuki left his side to look about and Spencer stood where he was, staying steady on his crutches as he took in whatever he could see. Boxes, tarps, trash, litter, the usual things; he could see chew marks on more than a few things, and he could easily guess that a rather hairy pile of discarded torn garbage bags and miscellaneous debris was likely where the dog slept on a regular basis. He took a step closer and did his best to lean down to examine it but couldn't do too well with his knee and his crutches.
“Tsuki, could you look at this and tell me what you see?” he asked and the woman was back at his side quickly, leaning down to examine the makeshift dog bed.
“Dog hair, a lot of it; considering the area, probably mostly from shedding, even a small animal can shed a lot of fur, more than enough to cover a space like this. It's part of the reason I brush him regularly and take Charlie to a groomer more often in summer; you wouldn't believe how much that cat can shred.”
Spencer nodded, agreeing that that made sense. “Notice anything unusual?”
“Hm well I'm not a trained investigator like you but this is certainly out of place.” With that Tsuki reached out, pulling a long white feather out from under the collection of dog hair.
“A feather?” She brought it up to his level and handed it to him, allowing him to look over the thing.
He had to agree it certainly stood out; the genius was not certain of what kind of bird it had to come from but he could tell that it was a real feather and not synthetic. It appeared white at first but a closer look revealed gradiants of gray, naturally colored. It was surprisingly clean and he looked about to see if there were any others. Perhaps a bird had come by if so but there seemed to be none. The lack of crust to it told him it was likely not brought here by the dog, otherwise it would have had dog saliva on it and been damaged in some way. But it was a perfect, clean feather and he struggled to understand what it could mean or why it was there.
“Perhaps a child left it here,” he said aloud, thinking that had to be the most likely option; someone put it there, for whatever reason that it could be.
Still he found himself placing it in his pocket and turning to Tsuki. “Anything else?”
She shook her head. “No hide though plenty of hair of the dog. Maybe someone else picked him up.”
Spencer wasn't too sure if that was a good thing or bad; the shelter wasn't a bad place but he had no idea what kind of diseases or even how old the dog might be which meant that being taken there could mean a death sentence. A small alarm went off in the back of his mind, remembering how skittish the dog was and he had to wonder how anyone could possibly get it to trust them enough to let them take it when Tsuki had yet to win it's loyalty.
“It also could have finally decided to run away from the area and find somewhere else,” he said with little conviction; it had yet to leave this area before, he doubted it would have just suddenly done so now. Not without cause at least.
He sighed and felt a hand going through his hair; it was Tsuki's of course and looking at her he found a smile on her face. She chuckled, a gentle sort of sound devoid of ridicule. “I can tell from your tone that you don't really believe that, love.”
His heart jumped when she called him that and a light blush covered his face. “...The dog didn't trust anyone, not even someone who always showed it kindness and fed it. It was fast, agile and more than capable of escaping from anyone who might have tried to grab it; there's no signs of any cars coming through here, no foot traffic that would denote animal control or anyone else came for the dog. And it was obviously a stray so I doubt an owner come for it. That it left the area seems like a far more reasonable explanation than anything else.”
Yet something still didn't feel right, something was bothering him. The feather was entirely out of place, the alley had evidence of people coming and going but not in the way that made it seem like it had to do with the dog. The dog was decidedly not there and that much was clear; perhaps it was the intellectual starvation of a man who normally had monsters to catch but he could not help but feel something didn't feel right.
“Well hopefully if it did, it went somewhere safe,” Tsuki said with a small sigh before looking up at him, “Though I can't imagine anywhere being safer than by your side, Spencer.”
“Tsuki,” he half whined, feeling his face heat up more.
Teasing him was almost a preoccupation for her he realized, always in good fun though; he saw her chuckle, smile playfully before heading back the way they had come. “Come on, the weather is nice enough for a walk in the park before going home, if you think you're up for it.”
“It's really more of a hobble in the park,” he said but followed after her nevertheless.
He allowed himself one last look back into the alley, trying to push back the feeling he still had. At the same time he put the feather away into his pocket, for what reason even Spencer wasn't entirely sure. Maybe to appease the feeling, maybe because he just wanted to; normally he disliked such things but it had been so strangely clean, unnaturally clean.
The duo disappeared along their path and the alley was silent for a good few seconds. Then a door opened along one wall, rusted and creaking in protest of the action; a figure looked out, saying not a word before smirking and looking down at the mangy dog they held, wiggling and struggling but unable to get free.
“I knew it,” they said and chuckled to themselves before going back inside, “I knew it. Well soon the game will be afoot; I certainly look forward to it.”
They went back inside and the dog whined, knowing in the way all animals knew when something, or someone, was dangerous.

❝ me and you against the world, huh? just like the old days. ❞
"Yes, though I would have preferred another Tarrasque over this farce..."
Nicholas's eyes sat heavy with worry, his body seated at the head of the table. Kingly furs and raiments were draped over him, the colours depicting him as the poster boy for Swanica. The guests have yet to arrive, but it felt as if it had already begun for Nicholas.
There was to be a meeting concerning all nations of the realm; and as such, every important man and woman was to be present. The metting was called by Swanica's King Nicholas Harold Winston Hillecrest, and it concerned a matter that grew exponentionally with every passing day.
"I'm thankful you're here, Queen. Make sure to kick me under the table if I start looking faint. I can't help but to feel like the one at fault for dragging everyone here."
Nicholas never got used to the weight. To be responsible for his entire country, and a representation of hundreds of thousands of opinions within. Rarely he took the initiative with these things, and often waited for others to reach out. He had been a part of many conferences since the advent of the Final Elegy, but this one he is to head.
The Starkidz have gone missing. Not long after the disappearance of Former Archmage Erudition, they too, evaporated into thin air. Naturally, this caused mass unrest, though many thought they were just off doing hero things. Not Nicholas. There wasn't a snow golems chance in the Nine Hells that Caspian disappeared without leaving his brother so much as a note. Something had happened.
"Let's just hope this isn't a practical joke from the heroes. I hear folk go stircrazy in peace after having such a gruelling campaign..."

driving headcanons:
dave: does not drive, is baby, will fall asleep if he's in a car for more and 20 minutes. will fold himself up in the wheelwell to be small.
rose: can technically drive but fucking hates driving so much holy shit. she will cancel events and plans rather than drive herself to them. can only be convinced to drive if she is driving someone else (say, an annoying twin brother) and she will bitch about it the entire time
dirk: can drive, will drive, has a perfect driving record. does not enjoy driving but does enjoy being useful to friends and loved ones. goes slightly batshit when he has to drive by himself anywhere. you can see the stircrazy around his eyes afterward.
jake: loves to drive! is a bad driver. do not let him drive. but can drive himself places and have long existential ponderances on the meaning of his life, arriving at his destination a slightly changed person.
karkat: that post about how karkat is the guy who has a too-small car for the number of people in it, true. canon. real. he will drive. "oh fucking great i guess I'm driving" karkat says before anyone implies he has to drive. dirk offers to drive and karkat tells him to go fuck himself. has been in multiple collisions but has never been found to be at fault. has not paid for a tank of gas in 10 years because someone else is always in the car.
jade: cannot drive. the degree to which i cannot imagine jade operating a vehicle is tremendous. she could build a car engine but doesn't know which pedal is the brake.
terezi: obviously cannot drive but if the group is walking back to the car and someone beeps it unlocked, she will get in the driver's seat until karkat yells at her to fucking move, god dammit terezi
that's all i got

oooof busybusy monday
Today was errand and grocery day, and after about four days of sprawling in bed with my best friend the heating pillow I was feeling a little bit stircrazy so I ventured out very cautiously
The end result that multiple households are now all shored up for the BIG HONKIN SNOWSTORM THAT'S APPARENTLY GOING TO HIT US SOON
but it feels good getting all that done beforehand. I have stuff for soup and chili and other such cozy foods. I even managed to get bea's special cat food and meds and pill treats from the vet, so she won't eat my feet in the night
things have been so chaotic lately. it just feels so nice to be prepared.

TEAM VILLAINESS
Maria Roy Kent Sharena Caeldori Python Quan Dimitri Marianne Kurthnaga
PROLOGUE [August 1st - August 3rd]
Tag: #UnscriptedVillainess2022
Book Summary:
Meaghan’s got something of a problem - well, two problems! Yoinked from her world and reincarnated into her favourite character of her favourite book, she’s walked into a whole new world and a whole new life. Now she’s a duchess! Rich and waited on, she wants for nothing. What’re the problems here, you ask? Well, for starters, she’s been cursed - and if she doesn’t find true love’s kiss before she turns 22, she’s gonna die all over again! Oh, and her favourite character from the novel: the big bad villainess, of course!
The Baroness cries over the Chimney Sweep’s body, though her wails soon give way to darkness... and then, to light. It’s the aroma of freshly-baked bread that wakes you, alongside the familiar hustle and bustle of a busy marketplace. That, however, is where the familiarity ends: this clearly isn’t Fódlan anymore.
Levenn, the capital city of the Artel empire, looms tall.
What you know:
Technologically and structurally, this world appears similar to those you already know.
Although busy, things appear otherwise relatively peaceful.
Congratulations to Maria and Roy, who’ve inherited a new older brother! Sveinn Albrecht dotes on then both... even if he seems to enjoy waking them at ungodly hours of the morning.
Dimitri finds himself the quite popular guy: everyone in the marketplace knows him and greets him with a mix of guarded respect and cheer.
The gossip mill is going stircrazy lately, wondering if Kent and Caeldori will finally tie the knot... Of course, the whispers say, it might be a tad awkward given one of them’s close to the Fenrichs, and the other works for the Empire...
Sharena and Kurthnaga are both well regarded in the community even despite their lack of noble title - it probably helps that they are close friend’s with the empire’s saviour and sweetheart Lady Anabelle de Vaux.
The city folk turn up their nose toward Python and Marianne - the former, they say, has gambled away his inheritance ten times over and gods only know they’ve helped him as much as they could, really. Probably. As for the latter, she’s seen as an ill omen, bearer of bad luck. Crowds split before her, fearful she might infect them with whatever affliction she bears.
The Emperor, his Majesty Kadrian Artel, has given Quan a room within his castle while he visits, but not without some visible suspicion. After all, it’s not every day your distantly-related-but-still-possible-heir-to-the-throne visits with good intentions.
What to do (suggestions):
You have until 11:59PM EST on August 3rd to make any changes to your inventory.
Follow the I Became the Villainess and Now I Have to Break Her Curse?! sideblog. NPCs can be interacted with through this blog or with Tupper in your Discord team channel.
Interact with teammates to establish your roles. Remember, the Projectionist has written you all in as characters of the story.
Talk to Mod Key for additional information.

Hi Logan I see you reblogged some Scoob and Shag and I am here to say Yes I think you would very much enjoy it,,,,, it's such an off the walls comic but it's also a DELIGHT and really well done. It does get a bit intense with gore and body horror at times, but if those aren't serious concerns I think you'll be okay!!
I do request tho that if you do end up checking it out that you tell me a bit of what you think!! Definitely no pressure to regardless, of course, but if you do read it and have Thoughts I would love to read them <33
ALSO more importantly I wanted to say that I hope you're doing alright!! I hope today treats u gently and that you'll be able to have a good time and rest well.
And to round this off <3 a Bambi (harness edition) from last year when we stayed in a hotel for a li'l while
[Image Description: A picture of a small brown chihuahua standing on a red couch, peering up and wagging her tail furiously until it is a blur. End ID.]
hiiii sorry I'm late!!!
:D yes yes! I'd seen that comic before and heard you and your scoob n shag anon talking about some absolutely buckwild stuff, but never connected the two dots somehow that they were the same thing hahaha
but yeah omg I'll have to check it out properly, it sounds bonkers and ridiculous in the best way, absolutely right up my alley >:3c body horror and gore are not so much an issue for me these days, only in certain extremely graphic realistic films, even then it's not unmanageable for me...... but anyway, yeah, hey, thank you for the heads up anyway, I'll approach with the appropriate level of caution!
I'll be sure to share some Thoughts once I get started!! I'm sure I will have many!
and aaa, thank you, I'm doing okay, had a bit of a Spiral these past few days but that's not unexpected, I've been a bit too busy I think xD it'll be nice to sit down soon and do some writing and art!
y'know how if you don't get the Words and Pictures out of your brain they just start gettin all weird in there and going stircrazy and bonking into the walls and spawning demons. blah blah art is a cleansing experience something something. I have to take my brain for a walk, my brain has the zoomies
what was I talking about
uhhh
anyway!
I hope you're doing okay too!! I hope this week goes smoothly and is filled with nice things for you :D
and... hi bambi!!!!!!! always a pleasure to see your little face!!! your tail is going so so fast you look like a little cartoon and I love you so much <3
she looks so happy fhdjddjs
#thank you for the message! :D#also. hey. hey#hey?#so i have. a lot. of social anxiety. but I'm trying to get better at talking to people i think are cool and fun#WOULD it potentially be ok if i messaged you on discord sometime just to say hi#I'm not v good at chatting and i may startle like a small gecko or some other such creature and scuttle under some leaves but#hi? hello

I remember seeing a headcanon on Thomas' initial arc that basically amounted to "Thomas thought the world was just the yard and that only. Then Gordon did his trick and Thomas realized that there's much more out there so he wants to see more." And if this was true, that means Gordon would've technically been responsible for BWBA happening this whole time.
Not the worst idea, but it does contradict the lore where he came up from Brighton through unclear means, and then helped to build the North Western Railway, both naturally occuring before he was assigned to The Big Station. As the Station Pilot, he couldn't leave the area and grew stircrazy and started to vocalise his displeasure, including the slightly hyperbolic "I want to see the world!"
Even if ya go with the TAB retconning, Thomas says he's from Brighton, so both RWS and TVS versions would have him at least aware that the world outside exists, what he wants is to be able to get out there and stretch his wheels!
But his moaning doesn't mean a world tour - just some spice and variety he was sorely missing. When he later gets Ffarquhar, he's thrilled to bits and treats it as The Most Important Line. It may be a small rural branch line but he loves the gig so much (and has a slightly inflated sense of Importance), he wouldn't ever ditch it. Do work elsewhere and visit other places for a special event, yes, but outright long to leave it while he galivants about? NEVER!! lol
Basically; the theory you cite doesn't have many of the facts on board. And if Gordon did plant the idea in heads, then I'd hafta strangle him :v ...Also Gordon's "trick" was solely to get back at Thomas for being annoying, not to open his 3rd Eye like that Dr Strange sequence lmao
#Now the idea of Thomas actually making special visits to other countries COULD work#but not the way it's presented and thus I Hate It#I don't much care for TAB's retconning but even that supports the part about Thomas being from Down South initially

closed starter / @celcstechen celestes home. because stella is, absolutely, a stalker.
it was risky, she knew, but the employee records had always been available to her as a guidance counselor, and having celeste’s address on hand was simply due to knowing she was one of dom and cat’s emergency contacts for sebastian. she’d never been there herself, but the others had, and she found it easily ( as if anything in iron river was hard to find ) and merely hoped that the hour - still early in the evening enough to be considered ‘polite’, but late enough afternoon that the other should be home from the school they’d both worked at for years - meant she’d be home.
there was a lot to say, and a lot to talk about. this was supposed to stay between dom and cat, of course, and she was probably massively overstepping, but she would not have her best friends marriage destroyed because celeste couldn’t control herself. the worst part was, she felt a small slight of sympathy for her - falling in love with someone she could never have couldn’t have been easy, and feelings were certainly not something people could control.
but she was walking on a precipice and stella was going to make sure she stayed on the right side of it. which is why she showed up, a tray of celeste’s favorite treats in hand, a bottle of wine, and a faux smile the other would clearly see through but probably be too polite to deny entrance towards with her as she rang the doorbell, relieved it didn’t take long before celeste appeared. “hello,” she greeted cheerfully enough, “i’ve been feeling particularly nostalgic the past few days and remembered you liked these - i hope it’s okay i just dropped by, but i’m going a little stircrazy in a house of just little ones,” she said with an easy laugh.

Just typing that previous post out gave me some ideas for The Town.
TB’s using it as a base of operations—not for the town itself, but because it’s a pocket of civilization out in basically the middle of nowhere, and provides an access point to whatever ventures he’s working on that are deeper in the hills and possibly up into the mountains. To get closer to whatever business is being done up in the mountains, he’d have to camp out in the woods or possibly live in the laborer’s barracks—many hours away from a hot bath. No thank you. His business likely helps provide some income for local workers when work is hard to come by elsewhere, especially during winter months.
He’s the quiet rich snob who lives just outside of town in a manor and mostly keeps to himself. Weirdo. May or may not have shallow graves in the deep woods behind his estate. You can’t prove anything.
I wouldn’t say he’s helped build the town; no, he’s been there for a decade, at most, and that’s probably pushing it, and the town’s been there for much longer. But his presence helped bring in some revenue and new resources, like a better railroad and like, running water. Maybe even indoor plumbing and water heating.
Okay the real reason TB’s stayed so long? There’s hotsprings. He built his estate within walking distance of some of them. He loves them. He’ll stomach the ridiculous transport fees for his other luxuries for them. He has dedicated hot spring time. Don’t fuck with hotspring time.
Momo, meanwhile, is the well-meaning idle playboy, who is going absolutely mad with stircraziness. The town is very nice and he likes to help them out but oh my god he’s going to chew his leg off if he can’t travel elsewhere soon.

lol okie i’m just like.. talking out loud rn so feel free to scroll on. lol i’m talking about fomo 😔
i’ve been like v understanding of the past few months, and i’ve been good at staying at home. but idk, recently i’ve been feeling fomo... temptation... then guilty for thinking about things or giving into temptation.....
AND I KNOW WHAT THE ANSWER IT. THE ANSWER IS JUST STAY AT HOME, COS IF NO ONE ELSE IS DOING IT, I SHOULD DO IT. JUST STAY. SIT MY ASS. HOME.
my brain is like, “even if you’re not sick, stay home. stay home. stay home? what else is there.” but my ~heart~ is getting confused lol.
everyone is doing some kind of outdoorsy thing. everyone is eating IN restaurants. everyone is back in their cars. i see celebrities taking vacations. everyone is posting what they’re doing??? outside????? while i’m at home just watching these things and i feel jealous?? i feel dumb?? i feel confused??
(again, i know what the answer is. it’s obvious, it’s been there, and i’ve been following it. i’m just feeling extra ‘left out.’)
i haven’t been perfect in all this either; i’ve gone out too. i’ve assessed ~the situation~ and decided to go to things. i’ve met family & friends i haven’t seen in months, but it’s all been so sparingly. and it’s only been people i trust trust trust. it doesn’t happen often....
but then when i met with [some] of them (masks on and everything), and tell them i haven’ really be out or meeting people, and they’re like, “but you can go out. you can do things. we’re not in lockdown anymore.” and i’m like !!!!! YEs? but NO? but yeah? but.... what? i thought we were all still staying inside?? akldjfadkfadkfa;dfk
i dunno. i think i’m just feeling particularly stircrazy this week. it’s september, it’s about to be october, i’m thinking of all the things i like doing in the fall. i’m feeling selfish, and guilty about being selfish. and i’m being ‘hard’ on myself, but at the same time, this is a global health crisis so–– i shouldn’t feel anything. i should just do it. i don’t wanna calculate these risks, but i don’t wanna be salty by myself. i don’t wanna inconvinience people or be another factor in all this but alkfdalkdsfafuwfaw;
i just wanna walk outside without feeling guilty or having to be conscious of every lil breeze....
UGH!
i know what the answer is. i’ll just go talk my lil dog on a walk and drink some tea. i just wanted to express that i’m feeling like a big baby.
stay inside when you can, limit your interactions outside and with other people, and wear a mask. you know the drill! stay safe, love ya’ll 🌿
#does anyone else feel like this... or am i just horribly selfish??#i'm just at home.... and idk i just see so many people posting about being out#it makes me feel like i can do it too but i know i shouldn't#so i don't and then just feel salty for no reason lol#personal#madmadmilk#long post
