I have zero desire to complain about it in real life because honestly my assumption is that the last five customers before me were assholes and the poor girl behind the counter deserves a break, but. It is very jarring to politely request a sandwich and get treated like I personally murdered her grandmother

♡ ◍• Skin That Cries Golden Tears • Chapter 2 ◍
Chapter 1•🌑
Tumblr media
Ah yes. How cliche. Of course, you blackout as soon as you hear the background noises of the tiny mob dying. Everything was too overwhelming at once, you couldn't fight it. You died and suddenly woke up inside a game. Not to mention you still have to process the deep feeling of betrayal left by your ex. But it honestly can't be helped. You have no idea where you'll be when you wake up and just pray it's not a jail cell. You weren't dressed in anything they were used to, you were dressed in a simple black dress that you’re sure didn’t belong in your wardrobe, it definitely wasn’t what you were wearing when you had died but it looked modern. You’re going to half to find a way to play it off, somehow.
When you first felt your body being carried, it was no surprise since it was the only way you’d be…. Well, rescued. That is what happened, right? Surely you didn’t get kidnapped. But judging by the moon being out and the cool air at the time, it couldn’t have been the Knights since all of them must have been asleep or in town based on how dark it was. So who came to your rescue? They had to use Pyro, you knew that, at least.
Red ponytail…. Pyro vision…. Night time….
You can’t possibly be this slow. It’s clearly -
Tumblr media
“So you think the Dark-Knight Hero is the one who left her unconscious at our doorstep?” There’s no mistaking it, the owner of that soft-spoken voice was most definitely the Grand Acting Master, Jean. Your eyes were still closed telling by the sunlight hitting your skin, that you most likely spent the night there, or morning. You were completely conscious, but you wanted to know for some reason. Depending on when they noticed you outside. “Yes, there was a letter too but it flew away in the wind before I could bring it here when I picked her up.” And that absolutely had to be Diluc’s voice. Anyone smart enough would be able to tell that it was clearly him who brought you the HQ. However, Jean just sighed with a nod before looking over a particular document at her desk, which actually looked more like some type of scroll in your opinion. She kept looking back and forth between it and you.
“So, unidentified traveler, how long do you plan on faking unconsciousness?” The sudden change in his voice startles you, causing your eyes to blink open fully and take in the frowning tall man who’s crossing his arms while looking down at your figure lying on the bed.
“Oh. Sorry, I was a bit… Half-awake? I didn’t mean to eavesdrop or anything, I just-” But your words were interrupted by someone clearing their throat to which both you and Diluc turned to look at the source, Jean, of course. “It’s not that big of a deal, Diluc.” She takes a few steps towards you before raising a hand to your forehead, even moving a little hair out of your eyes. Even with her touching you, she looked somewhat wary and in your opinion, overly spectacle.
“You seem healthy. However, I am curious to know exactly what you were doing in the fields late at night. And you don’t seem like a traveler, with no weapons on you, or resources. And you clearly don’t have a companion, or am I wrong?” You catch the way she wavers in her voice as if she’s conforming to something she doesn’t want to or is even afraid to. It is exactly what she’s doing so you’re confused about why she’s nervous.
“..Yes, I’m alone. I was just… I... I don’t know how I woke up there, to be honest.” Diluc, who you had forgotten was there for a moment lets out something that sounds like a chuckle, but out of disbelief. Jean glances at the desk once more which just makes you want to get up and see what’s there for yourself. She removes her hand from your body before standing up straight up and eyeing you with something you can’t describe. She goes behind her desk and sits down.
“...”
The silence & tension in the air was so thick it could be cut with a knife. You suddenly felt the urge to sit down, as if sitting down would prove to turn you too vulnerable. So you get up, quickly. It startled the other people in the room and you swore you saw Diluc reach for his sword when he flinched, and the reaction on your face clearly said it all because he glimpsed over the sword strapped to him before visibly relaxing (at least trying to).
“This was fun for a little but I think it’s time you c-” The Grand Acting Master is interrupted as the door flies open and you think the temperature gets a little chiller. A certain navy blue man with an eyepatch scurries in, looking like he is searching for something. His eyes scan the room in a flash before landing on you. Something about the eye contact you two made sent a shiver down your spine while his gaze lingered while he turned towards the other two in the room. “Oh! Was I interrupting something? Sorry, sorry. I heard that a particular person had shown up in the middle of nowhere and I just had to see what all the commotion was about…” The deep ocean blue eyes fall on you again. “So this is our guest?” He leans against the door frame for a moment, eyeing you up and down when he decides to stand up straight and walk (more like stride) straight in your direction.
Real. This is all real and in fact, not some delusional dream. You pray none of them notice the way you hold your breath as he gets closer and closer, stopping at Diluc's distance, only a little closer. You can't stop the words coming out of your mouth.
“You're-” “Kaeya.” He interrupts confidently, stretching out his hand to you. It's a good thing he said something before you mentioned his name. It would have only made you all the more suspicious. You stare at his hand that's stranded in the air for a few seconds, before he sighs and takes your own with a gentle yet strong grip, pulling it to his lips, and kissing it. A peck. Then he freezes, as if he didn't believe what or why he just did that. It wasn't really visible on his face but you could tell. You can tell a lot about everyone here, actually. And some things tell you it's not just because you know all the lore for every character. It's something you feel from the inside.
Kaeya graciously lets your arm fall back to your side and you hope there isn’t as much blush on your face as you think there is. “Why don’t I take this fine lady throughout Mondstadt, hm? You two seem like you have more important… things to discuss about whatever just happened, unless..?” He, not aggressively, yanks you up and off what you are sitting on and starts leading you toward the door. He didn’t even wait for the two to reply. Jean gets up from her chair, hands practically slamming on the table as she pins him with a look. “Hold on Kaeya, this is dangerous. We don’t know who this is or where they came from. And here you are trying to show them around? Let them meet civilians? This is all too suspicious. You can’t just-” She shuts her eyes and makes a noise that sounds like something close to a groan. One hand on her hips. “They have to stay here. You know exactly how heavy this situation is.” Diluc, being the man he is, also glares at Kaeya, and you swear you hear a scoff from under his breath.
Kaeya, shockingly, doesn’t look back and continues dragging you along out of the head office. “I’ll bring them back, don’t worry. But I’d like this with this one by myself.” You can hear Jean and Diluc’s complaints rise but you're out of the building by the time you can make out any of their words.
The two of you venture into the city, and you take a moment to look at everything around you. Wow. It’s much more beautiful and lively since everything is suddenly so…. Realistic. Before waking up here, it was your least favorite nation but you might consider changing your mind. Everything seems so calm and it really is less chaotic than all the other nations. It’s peaceful. “So I assume our city is to your liking? With the way your eyes are practically shining…” Your daydreaming is cut short when Kaeya stands in front of you, arms crossed, hands on his hips, looking amused out of his mind. “Well, it’s not every day you wake up in a whole new world.”
It slipped out, it really did. But you hope he doesn’t take your words literally, and you think he didn’t because he lets out a content chuckle. But then his smile drops. And you’re stuck in place. He slowly makes his way closer, then he grabs both your hands and stares you straight in the eye.
“I don’t think what I’m feeling right now is simply attraction. I have a lot of experience with that, trust me. But with you, there’s a pull. A pull that I can’t ignore. Hah, I wonder if the Red Hawk man feels it… Maybe that’s why he didn’t want you to go.”
You don’t know what to say. You have no idea why this is happening or why you’re here. And is he serious? A pull of some sort? That’s not good. Pulling means attention and that’s the last thing you need right now. Yet the way he looks at you would make anyone think the whole world revolves around you. And as of now, you have nothing. No one knows you or trusts you. You don’t know how to fight, which is very much required to survive in Teyvet. You need friends, allies, and people who are willing to defend you. And you can’t do that while simply touring around Mondstadt.
“Thank you, for this.” You step closer and you know what you want from him, what you need. You need his trust. “All of this is nice, but I’m more curious about you. I think I feel that same pull with you, to be honest. I want to get to know you better. Where do you live around here? I’m curious to see how people here live.” You’re positive you sound genuine and curious. Good. All is needed to win him over.
He looks surprised, then pleased. All before you’re suddenly tucked into his chest… And a sword is against your throat. You gawk at it, squirming. That wasn’t the smartest thing to do, which caused him to press it against your throat even more. “I might be captivated by you, but I’m not as stupid as you think. Now… Why would anyone try and get into someone's home when they’ve barely known that for a couple of hours? Unless, that certain someone has a plan, of course. I took what Master Jean said to heart. For all I know you could be dangerous. I’ve been watching you closely the whole time. It’s as if you’ve never seen something like a regular town. There are even more impressive ones all over Teyvet. You know what that tells me?”
You know exactly what he’s implying and you feel like you could throw up your organs. Were you going to lose your second chance so easily?
He turns you slightly and you’re finally facing him. Expect all the warmth is gone. His gaze is as cold as his vision and you’re no longer sure if you’ll be able to try and gain him as a companion, let alone civil allies. The sword across your neck is making you start to throb in pain and you’re sure it’s going to leave either a cut or a mark. It hurts.
You can feel Kaeya’s breath against your neck.
“Who are you?”
Suddenly, there’s a bright flash and you’re temporarily blinded, and Kaeya’s holding his left arm up. You can see some blood seeping through. It looks like it’s the same size as the one he created on your neck. But yours is gone.
He’s breathing heavily, confused. Kaeya’s barely standing on his two feet, he’s dizzy. Even though he just practically attempted on your life, you couldn’t blame him for it. He doesn’t trust others. He can’t, it’s not what he’s here for. You don’t know how you get to him so quickly, throwing one of his arms around your shoulder. He seems to be in a more… fatal condition than you were. It’s like he took your injury, only intensified. You have to get him aid. But then again, if you go to anyone else, there’s a good chance you’ll be locked up. You don’t want to imagine an interrogation right now. So, you look at the poor man in your arms and speak softly. You hope that gets you some points, at least.
“Where do you live, Kaeya?” He barely opens his eyelids, having a look on his face that’s in between exhaustion and uncertainty. You think he’s about to shake his head before he blurts it out, surprising the both of you. Now he’s the one gawking at you since you go in the actually direction of his home. How did you even know your way around? That took away some points, didn’t it?

Celebrity Crush Pt.2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jenna Ortega x Reader
Requested: Yes/No
Summary: Still in disbelief that Jenna asked them on a date, Y/n tries to make the most of living her dream, including going on a date with her dream girl. (y/f/o = your favourite outfit) ~ Word Count: 1.859k ~ Warnings: pure fluffff
A/N: Hi!! It’s here everybodyyyyy! I tried to make it as good as possible seeing how much you guys loved pt1 and begged for pt2. Hopefully I did it justice and you enjoy this one just as much or more than the first <3
Part 1 ~ Part 2
The day had arrived. Tonight you were going on a date with THE Jenna Ortega. Your celebrity crush, whom you had been swooning over for years, had asked you out on a date. Despite having days for it to sink in, you don’t think it ever will.
'What is my life?' you wondered as you awoke, lying flat on your back, staring at the ceiling, still in complete disbelief that this is happening to you. Shaking yourself awake, you roll over to your bedside table to check your phone, where you immediately notice another message from Jenna.
Jenna
“Morning sleepyhead”
“Still up for tonight I’m hoping?”
Since she first messaged you a few days ago, you and her have been talking nonstop. The two of you had an irrefutable connection. You had talked about almost everything under the sun and yet the conversation never got dry or ceased. There was obviously a bit of teasing from Jenna about your tweets, however it just opened up the opportunity for you to flirt - which you certainly weren’t complaining about.
Y/n
“Morning cutieee”
“Of course I am I wouldn’t miss it for the world”
Jenna
“I’ll see you at 6 then <3”
Before you knew it the clock struck 5, and it was time to get ready. You hop into the shower, your playlist playing over your speakers, to freshen up and hopefully relieve some of your nerves. As the warm water cascades your body and down the drain, you insecurities are drowned with it.
You walked to your closet after exiting the shower, quickly drying your hair and wrapping yourself in a towel. You've never felt so much pressure whilst choosing an outfit. You needed an outfit that was perfect for a first impression, but as you looked through your closet, you weren't overwhelmed by options. “Ok so… effort but not too much effort, colour but no too much colour, casual yet fancy, masculine yet feminine… easy” you sighed as you began pulling out various items of clothing and laying them out on your bed.
You eventually settled on y/f/o, with some light makeup and your hair out and styled like you do day-to-day, not wanting to appear desperate to impress - although you definitely were. With one final look in the mirror, you grabbed your keys and headphones, threw on a jacket, and walked out the door. Checking your phone as you made you way onto the street for the brisk 10 minute walk to the restaurant, the time read 5:50. ‘Perfect’ you thought, not wanting to arrive too early or too late. Everything had to be perfect.
With your on-repeat playlist playing softly in your ears as you walk along the illuminated streets, despite your first date nerves, you can’t help but smile giddily as each step carries you closer and closer to finally meeting the girl of your dreams. As the restaurant comes into view, you slow down your pace as you once again pull out your phone. ‘5:59’. With a deep breath, you cross the road, putting away your headphones as you approach the glass door. Opening the door, you exchange pleasantries with the staff at the door as you scan the restaurant in search of a particular brunette. When your e/c eyes finally land on her figure, she was wearing this outfit, and you have to stop your jaw from dropping to the floor as your eyes widened at her beauty.
Originally looking at her phone, she must have noticed the time as her head picks up and her eyes travel towards the entrance, towards you. Her eyes light up as they meet yours, butterflies erupting in your stomach as her lips curve into a smile. Your smile matches hers as you walk towards the table, as you do so, she places her phone in her blazer pocket and stands up.
“Hi!” you smile brightly, embracing her in a long awaited hug despite your mixture of excitement and nerves, a hug she instantly reciprocates. “Hi! How are you?!? You look amazing by the way” she returns as she pulls out of the embrace, both of you taking your seats. “Oh stop it have you looked in a mirror recently?” your compliment causing her cheeks to brighten slightly, “I’ve never been better. I still feel like I’m dreaming. Both about this” you gesture between the two of you, “and all the press and attention, its insane” you chuckle as you just admire her for a moment, the corners of your lips gently upturned. “How about you?” “I’m good. I mean it’s been a stressful week. I had some long and tiring days on set, but I have to say this is definitely a highlight. You are definitely the highlight of my week” she gently smiles at you, warmth spreading across your cheeks as she flatters you.
Thankfully your embarrassment was saved by the waiter coming to your table, giving you the opportunity to compose yourself whilst Jenna was distracted. If she was going to keep flustering you this easily you were going to need a few drinks. You both ordered and the conversation flowed. As cheesy as it sounds to say, it feels like you have known Jenna for ages. Was that possibly due to the fact that you have been one of her biggest fans for the past few years… maybe, but the connection between the two of you was still undeniable.
Throughout dinner, you find yourself drifting between states of pure joy, and of pure disbelief. Your eyes were essentially glued to Jenna, captivated by her beauty and how, despite being in the spotlight for so many years, she has managed to maintain her humanity, and is just as sweet, and as caring as she appears on screen. Never in your life did you picture yourself here, essentially living your dream. You had your dream job, which allowed you to meet incredible people and travel to incredible places, and you were on a date with your dream girlfriend. You have no idea what you did to deserve this, but there is nothing you wouldn’t do to preserve it.
Which is why, after dinner, you refused to let your night end there. “I’m going to be completely honest with you, I don’t want tonight to end yet. Like I refuse.” her eyes softened at your statement, “What do you say to going on a walk? I know a cute park not too far from here?” Her eyes seem to study you for a moment, almost admiring you - again how is this happening? you have no idea. “I’d love to.” she replied softly. “Perfect”.
After paying the bill, the two of you got up from your seats and headed to the door, thanking the staff along the way. You made sure to walk ahead to hold the door open for her as she exited, receiving an adoring smile for your efforts. “M’lady” you joked, bowing as she walked out laughing with you following swiftly on her tail. Walking out together, you are met with the bitter cold of the night air, the gentle gusts of wind rustling the trees that line the streets. “This way. It’s not too far” you explain, gesturing in the direction of the park, one you often went to when you needed a moment of solitude.
The night had mellowed out as you walked to the park, entertained by relaxed chatter and simply basking in each others presence. Somewhere along the way, Jenna had slipped her hand into yours, your fingers interlocking intimately. The moment you felt her touch, a warmth spread throughout your chest as your lips broke into a giddy smile. Once again you found yourself in a state of pure disbelief. You would think that at this point it would have sunk in, yet how anyone could ever get used to living their dream you would never understand. How Jenna Ortega picked you, of all people, to ask out on a date, you would never understand.
As you approach the park, your thumb brushing over her knuckles, you guide her towards your favourite spot. Walking through the quiet park, although almost eerie, brings you an incredible sense of calmness as you walk through the all too familiar paths. You eventually lead Jenna towards a large tree that overlooks a quiet lake. It was on a bench under said tree that you often spent your afternoons, sat listening to music and trying to escape from the world.
You give Jenna’s hand a reassuring squeeze as you lead her over to said bench, hoping it would also offer her the feeling of tranquility it so often offered you. As you sit on the bench, looking out onto the dimly lit lake, the wind and leaves playing a sweet melody above your heads, you feel calm. Noticing Jennas slight shivering next to you, you are quick to take off your jacket and wrap it around her shoulders, earning an appreciative smile from the girl. “It’s beautiful” she whispers, her attention directed to the lake in-front of her, the reflection of the dim park lights reflecting off of it’s calm surface. “Yeah it is” you reply just as faintly.
Except you weren’t talking about the lake. Or the park. The only thing you could focus on, was her. Sat next to you with your jacket wrapped around her shoulders, the faint lights reflecting off her features perfectly, looking ethereal against the dull glow. Eventually noticing your gaze, she turns her head to look at you, her brown eyes meeting your e/c ones. Your admiration for her must have been obvious as her face softens, her eyes even glancing towards your lips. “Did you mean it?” she asks in a faint whisper. “Did I mean what?” “The tweets. Did you mean them?” your lips twitch into a slight smile at the mention of your tweets, the very things that brought you to this moment. “Every single word” you confess.
Now it was your turn to glance at her lips, watching as she subtly catches her bottom lip between her teeth. Even in the faint light, her face still glowed as you admired it, adjusting yourself as you slowly begun to close the distance. With one last hesitant look at her eyes, which were still locked on your lips, you brought your hands up, resting them on her cheeks, and leaned in, connecting your lips in a slow, gentle kiss. Jenna sighs softly as her hands wrap delicately around your neck. At first tentative, you begin to move your lips against hers. As she reciprocates, it feels like the world has stopped. You forget everything. You experience real peace. You feel nothing but her. You just want the time to stop. In that moment, you feel almost certain that you must be dreaming.
As you part, breathless, your lips, which already ache at the lack of her warmth, crack into a smile as your eyes meet hers once again. “Come back to mine?” you question hesitantly with a chuckle, watching as her smile grows as she grabs ahold of your hands. “I’d like that”

hahaha, yeah, might have been re-obsessed with my own AU here, because some @mechazushi fueled my brain with new content about them..so I can't help it.. once again diving deep into the fantasyy... and next to the Witcher and Skyrim law... well I came along with something else as well now :D
*mushes WOW into the fantasy pile*
Part 1 here
Oh, and THIS time I'll add my thoughts about them IN the description, how 'bout that? (▀U ▀-͠)
Narumi Gen:
Witcher/Hunter and counterpart/companion of Soshiro Hoshina. They both initially travelled to the mountains to find a rumored dragon's den to slay said. His skills are very much resembling what a witchers can do, and he is remarkable in swords art, but also a formidable sourcerer for fight related magic and enchantment. Hoshina lacks the skill for advanced spells. They have an unspoken agreement to help each other get better with the skills the lack. He also prepares most of their potions.
Mina Ashiro:
(OK, listen Reno bb, pls don't cry, I promise you get your own ref sheet, I already made some scribbles as well!! She just shoved herself into my brain last night, and I liked it, so I simply had to do this! (~ ̄³ ̄)~ I'll make it up buddy <3)
I very much loved the idea of her being a long gone friend of dragon Kafka, that gifted him his human form and influenced his life so much. It suits the story sooo good!! But I kinda was sad she wasn't part of the current story anymore... ಡ ﹏ ಡ Well yeah, that's what I thought about yesterday while working on Narumi, got to bed, and at like 2 am a word hit me like a rock and I was fcking wide awake..
Banshee... ╭( ๐_๐)╮omg, that's gonna be awesome, I'mma make her a banshee like Sylvana and she's gonna be there and has to rediscover the world, since she was gone so long.
sfhfsdldkjthat's what I did. She is a banshee now, lol. A half-elf banshee, might I add. Revived by a necromancer in a very complicated ritual. So basically - welcome to season 2 of this AU of ours I guess? The necromancer in question (oh my, who could it possibly be, I ask? It's ma gurl Rin, of course) contacted Kafka and his party, with the intention to perform a ritual on Mina's grave to free her soul, which is still clinging to earth because of a later discovered act of betrayal that 'caused Tachikawa to fall when their enemies arrived. (smth like this, I dunno, I didn't think this part through a lot, lol)
For performing the ritual she needs, amongst other things, detailed information and a contribution of someone that was close with the deceased. After finding Mina's grave and corpse deep down in the catacombs of Tachikawas ruins they start the ritual. Kafka needs to contribute a scale and some details about Mina in the past, that the necromancer incorporates into the ritual. To everyone's suprise she also adds her own blood. The necromancer reveals her true goal to not free but capture Mina's soul and obtain her powers. But something goes wrong (maybe because of Kafka interrupting the ritual now, or smth idk) and instead Mina is revived as an undead soul with a new (but slightly unfinished) body. Because of the contributed blood she is bound to her summoner for as long as it takes her to find and free the part of her soul that is in fact still captured somewhere on earth. (Oh no - so Kafka gets his bestie back, that is also basically immortal :| And I def. have in mind some enemies to lovers bullsh*t here with the banshee and her necromancer, lol sorry not sorry)
I used a whole bunch of references that I would like to mention:poses 1 2 3 + clothing 1 2

It was now 10 am both Y/n and Rhea never went back to sleep. Everyone was now awake in the house. Dominik decided to make strawberries and cream crepes as it's y/n's favorite breakfast to eat. She didn't feel sick the rest of the morning and because of it being smackdown tonight and it just so happened to be in the city where the couples home was they didn't have to travel far today which made Y/n very happy. All 5 of them were members of Judgement day but the group already knew Y/n wasn't scheduled to be on the show tonight so she called Hunter (triple H for those who don't know) and let him know she wouldn't be in the building as she didn't feel good. The others however all had either fights or promos to do so Rhea took the lead and called in reinforcement. Who was the reinforcement you may ask well it was three of Y/n's best friends in wwe who they knew weren't scheduled to be on tonight. They were Becky, Seth and Liv. All people who either helped train her or had been by her side dating back to her NTX days especially Becky and Liv they were her best friends and Seth decided to come with Becky to come help cheer Y/n up. "So how exactly did you feel last nigh" Liv asked curious as she had a cousin who was a nurse so she knew a bit about health and medical stuff. "Well it was kinda just out of the blue I woke up and felt super sick and like throwing up" Y/n said "Ok well have you felt like that at all the rest of the day" Becky now asked as the wheels in her brain started turning. Y/n replied "Nope I've actually felt fine the rest of the day just a but restless and sleep and haven't been tired since I woke up" "ok and remind me what time this was again" Seth now said now believing he was thinking the same as his wife. "Ok I get you guys are trying to help but what's with all the questions" Y/n asked slightly agitated now with all the questions. Becky replied "Well what's your description sounds like morning sickness which is common in pregnancy" "That's exactly what I was starting to think" Liv and Seth said at the same time. Seth chimed in again "I remember Becky struggled with that a decent amount when she was pregnant with Roux"." Wait so you guys think I'm pregnant " Y/n said in a shocked tone "Well I'm not saying you 100% are but it's possible especially if you guys have been having unprotected sex especially recently" Becky explained. Silence filled the room Liv was the one to break it "Do you have any tests here or do you need to buy one or two" "Two would be more ideal because it's better to do two than one I remember my first test was negative then I took another it was positive I went to the doctors later that day and turns out I was pregnant" Becky said. "I can go drive to a store real quick and pick up a two pack if you don't have any" Seth offered. "Well this was never expected this early so we don't have any so if you wouldn't mind running to grab some I would appreciate it" Y/n said in a hushed tone. "Ya I'll go run right now" and with that Seth left the three girls alone while he went to go buy some pregnant tests.
That's all for part 2 I hope you guys enjoyed and part 3 will be out soon beyyyy

A Timey-Whimey (Shit)Storm: A Critical Look at Life is Strange 1's Ending.
It's been a hot minute since I did one of these essay type posts, and I know that the title is may suggest some kind of dislike of the game or something, and incite the ire of fans, but at least hear me out a little before getting mad. I actually enjoy these games, along with the comics, so I'm coming at this from a place of love. I especially have a soft spot for the original Life is Strange, I've just had this on my mind for a while.
Obviously, there will be spoilers for "Life is Strange," but I will also briefly cover spoilers from the Life is Strange comic series, and a brief, albeit minor spoiler of Life is Strange 2's 5th episode, and some stuff from Life is Strange: True Colors' "Wavelengths" DLC. If that ain't your bag, then you've been warned. All of it will be under the cut anyway. Before that though, I have some other house keeping to get out of the way.
I want to make it abundantly clear up front what my stance on the game being covered is, so there's no room for misunderstanding. I quite like the original Life is Strange. It's probably my favorite game of it's type (narrative adventure game in the Telltale style). I don't like Before the Storm or Life is Strange 2 though, but both of those will eventually get their own posts. I do like True Colors though.
I also want to make it clear that I am 100% on the side of "Pricefield," but I'm not really making this post from the place of a Pricefield bias or whatever, so I want to head that off at the pass.
With that, the rest is under the cut. Again, hella spoilers inbound, you've been warned.
Life is Strange is the kind of game that I have a pretty lukewarm opinion of genre wise, but manages to keep me engaged through the way it unfolds. I'm not especially fond of the narrative adventure game genre that was popularized with Season 1 of Telltale's The Walking Dead, despite having played quite a few of them. I like a few, sure, but it's generally not something I'm fond of. If not for the fact that Chloe's character design appealed to me (you'd know why if you've seen my original characters), I'd have never even touched it.
I have fond memories of playing the original Life is Strange with my best friend back when it was still being released, and how we'd actually hash out our thoughts on what decisions made the most sense in the moment while playing. I initially remember hating the ending of the original making my choices feel meaningless (as by the time "Polarized" came out, my friend and I weren't able to play together due to us living in 2 different cities at the time), and it was only after letting it marinate for a while that I came to the conclusion that I liked one of the two possible endings, and disliked the other.
I'm (rather obviously) on team "Bae," as far as the endings to the original are concerned. To me, this is the only ending that actually makes sense unless you want to argue that the whole point of the story is some fatalist, deterministic experience at it's core (which I've certainly seen argued multiple times), but I don't think that ideology is even remotely interesting to think about, and is flawed as hell. That's beside the point though. The part of this post that is dedicated to the first game is, primarily, about the reason why that ending is the only one that makes sense to me.
Throughout the game, Max (and by extension, we, the players) use her time travel powers to ultimately solve a few puzzles, and to otherwise scope out minor multiple decisions we make during the story. The moment we see Max use her powers for the first time is when Chloe (whom she doesn't recognize at the time) is shot in the girl's washroom at Blackwell. However, before she does this, she sees the vision of the Storm, and is jolted awake by it in the middle of class.
From here, the game tries to heavily imply that Max using her powers to save Chloe from being shot is what ultimately made the Storm come to pass, and drops mentions of the concept of Chaos Theory multiple times. I'm not going to bother explain what that means, but it does at least make some kind of sense. Max using her powers can alter the course of things, and create an untold amount of diverging timelines. We see this obviously through the "Bay" ending, as Chloe's death happens, and no storm comes. This is clearly to enforce the idea that Chloe not dying does something that causes the storm.
However, where this concept begins to eat shit like a skateboarder failing to bail properly from a bad Tre Flip is when Max goes back in time via a photo for the first time. She prevents the death of another person, Chloe's father, William. As we all know, this action has the consequence of Chloe eventually getting into a car accident and becoming quadriplegic, and is doomed to die when her respiratory system gives out due to the nature of the injury.
Now, this specific timeline brings with it questions, and the game doesn't really bother to answer them, despite it being a big hole in the whole "Chloe's death prevents the storm" idea.
The main question is "why didn't William not dying yield a storm?" If the idea of preventing a person from dying has far reaching consequences, and can lead to a storm, then why did William's survival not lead to a storm? Wouldn't that be a bigger shift to the "natural order of things" that Max saving Chloe did?
The cop-out answers I've heard to this are things like "she wouldn't have done it if she didn't save Chloe first to begin with" and "she didn't over-use her powers during the period of William's accident, so the storm wouldn't have been bad." I've even heard the idea that Chloe's accident is the universe saying "fuck you" to Max saving William, and while that is certainly believable, it ultimately makes you wonder "why are the dead whales even a thing in the 'William Lives' timeline?"
The second time I was left wondering is "in the timeline where Max is taken to the Dark Room, Chloe is very dead, so how is it that the storm happens at all if Chloe's survival is the reason it happens?"
Naturally, people will say "the act of saving Chloe sets things into motion, so it's too late to stop the storm by that point." It's here where I call bullshit, because it then makes you ask the question I brought up earlier: "why didn't the timeline where William lives have a storm after he was saved?" If the universe is pissed that Chloe lived, then her dying should prevent the storm, right? But if the universe is pissed at her living, then why isn't it pissed about William cheating death due to Max's intervention?
If it was just the timelines where William died but Chloe lived, I'd be like "alright, sure, Chloe cheating death caused the problem." But Willian's death being prevented doesn't do the same, so it's inconsistent reasoning at best.
Again, by the logic of the "Chloe being alive causes the storm" viewpoint, William should lead to that happening 5 years prior if he survives the day he's supposed to die, but that doesn't happen. If the storm is caused by Chloe being alive, then what does it matter which day she dies, so long as she dies before the storm is scheduled to happen? Unless you want to argue some divine punishment is occurring via a pissed off God, which would make the whole thing feel worse, then there is no logical consistency with the idea of "Chloe Alive = Storm, but William Alive =/= Storm."
It's by this logic that I think that the storm is tied to Max using her powers, rather than specifically the act of saving Chloe. This is then later reinforced, at least in part, by the sequel comics. Now, I know people will argue aren't canon, but they offer a look into a post "Bae" ending, and answer some questions about it in an official capacity, even if it's just meant to be a single view as to what could happen.
In those comics, Max's powers are tied to the storm, and are tied to her flickering between different realities, which lead her to a universe where Chloe and Rachel are alive and in LA for 2 years. She is later forced to confront another storm, and is able to prevent it from doing any damage, and then uses it to power a leap back to her original reality, albeit with the help of a guy who has the power to travel between dimensions, Tristian.
So in short, official media confirms that the powers are connected to the storm, and not necessarily Chloe's life. Max first uses her powers to save Chloe, sure, but the storm isn't linked to Chloe's fate by itself.
However, this is merely part of the justification I have for what I ultimately think is the "better" ending. The other is a simple question: how do they know that Max preventing herself from saving Chloe will stop the storm
Yes, we as the player, the outsider looking in, know that Max preventing herself from saving Chloe will lead to a Storm-less timeline, but in the scene where they decide that is what they have to do to stop the storm from happening, Max says that she caused the storm, and basically says it's due to her fucking with time. So how do they come to the conclusion her using her powers, the thing that caused the storm in the first place, to fix one more thing suddenly prevent the storm? Why would she even think that's a good idea when the consequences of her meddling with time are literally barreling toward Arcadia Bay?
In short, the metatextual element of this scene causes the internal logic of the choice to make no sense. If the use of powers causes the storm, then why would they even think using them again would fix things? If it's Chloe being alive, then William being alive should have done the same thing.
Basically, I think the issue with the ending isn't inherently the choice itself, but the logic for why the characters would even think a Hail Mary play like "go back in time and prevent yourself from saving Chloe in the first place" would even remotely work, given that they have two running ideas of the cause of the storm, and only one of them actually makes sense outside of a passing thought.
The issue with the "Bay" ending is that it leaves you with questions that have no good answers, but the "Bae" ending's questions are easier to answer.
In the "Bay" ending, if the photo jump is to the past where Max knows she can rewind time, even if only barely, then what's stopping that Max from abusing her rewind anyway? If the powers are the cause of the storm, then leaving her with the knowledge of it even being a thing is dangerous for the week leading up to Post-Photo-Jump Max's return, where that Max knows to not abuse her powers. Heck, if past-Max doesn't know of the rewind yet, and Photo-Jump Max knows that, then she can still save Chloe, and past her wouldn't know about the idea of time travel, so she'd not abuse the ability. Sure, there'd likely still be some kind of repercussions for messing with things, but it'd be significantly lessened if her powers are the cause of the storm, and not Chloe surviving.
So again, if Chloe's death has to be the thing that prevents the storm, why didn't saving William cause a storm? Why didn't Chloe dying to Jefferson at the end of Episode 4 stop the storm? If it's not Max's abuse of her powers that causes the storm, then what's stopping her from abusing the power in a Chloe-less world? We know thanks to the comics that she retains the ability to time travel after the week is done. Hell, if the "leaks" of an alleged Max-focused sequel game being in development are true, then it also confirms Max keeps her powers in a more concrete way than the comics did, so what's stopping her from abusing them outside of a sense of grief over losing Chloe?
I ask those questions because the act of letting Arcadia Bay get destroyed in the "Bae" ending doesn't highlight the issues with explaining how the storm came to be in the first place, and it ultimately could be either Chloe surviving when she should have died, or a consequence of Max abusing her powers during the week. It ultimately says "this is the cost of saving your friend. You made this bed, now lay in it."
The "Bae" ending reinforces the idea that Max shouldn't mess with time, and it shows the active consequences of doing so. It actively makes the "your choices will have consequences" thing the game shoves in your face at the beginning of every episode actively mean something, but in a way that isn't inherently obvious from the jump. From a metatextual standpoint, it's honestly really smart to have the idea of "choices and their consequences" be more of a theme rather than just a mechanic. Max ultimately has to live with the fact that her selfish desire to save her friend cost hundreds of people their lives, and she's not the only one who knows about that burden, because Chloe will have to spend a long time coming to terms with the fact that Max chose her over the lives of others when push came to shove. It ultimately feels like the journey meant something in the long term.
Conversely, the "Bay" ending just leaves me like "so there's no real consequences for anything, because this is how things would have played out if Max didn't have powers." Sure, Max has to live knowing her friend is dead because she wasn't allowed to save her, but she'd at least live knowing she did it for the greater good. It tries to say "this is the right choice" but fumbles because it ultimately just leaves people like me poking holes in the time travel logic. So long as she doesn't try to prevent someone's death again, she's free to use and abuse her powers however she wants. It doesn't reinforce the idea of "messing with things has consequences," it just lets Max have the ultimate do-over, where the only consequence that matters is her best friend is dead. She has to live knowing she let her friend die. At most, it's a tragic thing that will affect a few people, and that's it. To me, it just feels incredibly hollow.
Even if you like the "Bay" ending, I think you have to admit that the "Bae" ending has the time travel feel less problematic from a narrative logic standpoint. It, at the very least, doesn't require the answer to the question of "what caused the storm in the first place?" unlike the "Bay" ending, where it's left up in the air if it was Max's powers or Chloe's life that was behind it. From here, I'm going to basically go into some minor points as to why I think the "Bae" ending makes the most sense as the "canon" one for the series after the first game. These are not as important to the broader point, but still. If you wanna dip from the post now (assuming you made it this far) then cool, hope to see you when I talk about why I hate Before The Storm, cause that may interest people.
Some people like to suggest that the "Bay" ending has more potential for expansion, but I strongly disagree. That ending's future story potential, at least as far as Max is concerned, is just "Max has to learn to deal with the grief of losing her best friend" and otherwise has no real direction. If she meets Steph or something in a future game, for example, it ultimately will be a bit awkward for Max, and that's it. In the "Bae" ending, there's actual potential for drama if Max interacts with a former resident of Arcadia Bay, knowing she let it burn for the sake of one girl.
We can see how each ending effects David via the 5th Episode of Life is Strange 2. We know that regardless of Chloe's fate (at least as far as the two timelines that branch off from the first game's ending are concerned), David ends up in Away. David and Joyce split in the timeline where Chloe dies, and obviously Joyce died in the storm in the timeline where Chloe lives. We see how this effects David, but even then, there's more of a story to be told with Chloe surviving vs dying, at least in my view. Chloe and David being able to set aside their past issues and becoming the family Joyce had longed for them to become is a far more interesting story than David trying to reconnect with Joyce after Chloe's death split them apart. I'm not trying to suggest David is a great character or anything, but it's notable that Chloe and David's relationship is more interesting to explore in a post-Storm world, because he actually has a reason to become a better person in a Joyce-less world vs a Chloe-less one. It ultimately makes more sense for him to end up in Away because of Joyce's death rather than Chloe's. We see he really wants to be there for Chloe when he saves Max from the Dark Room, and we see how much Chloe's death affects him in that timeline, so I'm not saying he wouldn't relocate because of it if she died in the bathroom... but the drastic change he undergoes between Life is Strange and Life is Strange 2 really only makes sense in a world where he lost Joyce, and has to be better for Chloe's sake.
Steph is another character where it only makes sense to have Arcadia Bay get demolished, rather than have Chloe die. Sure, Steph is a very emotional character at her core, and runs from things that make her uncomfortable, no matter how good her life is going outside of that... but I honestly think it makes more sense for her to run from the past in a world where her hometown got levelled, because she'd have some kind of survivor's guilt because of the fact that she lived and her mom didn't. Yeah, she could still have survivor's guilt after learning both Chloe and Rachel died, but I'd argue it'd make more sense that she'd be running from Mikey in a world where the scars of Arcadia Bay run deep, rather than what happened to Chloe and Rachel. What reason would she have to avoid Mikey, her best friend, in a world where she doesn't have to feel bad that Mikey's family (presumably) died in the storm? In a world where her survivor's guilt would make talking to others from Arcadia Bay more painful and awkward for her? You could argue that, yeah, Chloe's death could hit her hard because they were good friends, and that because of Chloe being friends with Mikey too, that she'd avoid Mikey for that... but I just think it's more believable that she'd cut herself off from her past in a world where Arcadia Bay was destroyed.
Either way, this post and the time it took to write it got away from me, and I may have to refine it later when I eventually turn these essay type posts I've made into videos. For now though, hopefully this was an interesting read, and hopefully I've conveyed my views on the ending of Life is Strange's first entry at least somewhat succinctly.

You leisurely stretch your body out as you sit up in your bed. You can barely keep your eyes open, but you know that you don't have time to snooze a few extra moments. As if reading your mind, Jimin gives your bedroom door three rapid knocks and opens it, only sticking his head inside.
"Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead. You gotta get up now if you don't want to be late."
"I'm up, I'm up," you groan out, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes and throwing your blanket off of you.
"Good. I'm making breakfast, so hurry up," he smiles at you one more time before closing the door behind him.
You quickly get up and make your way to your ensuite bathroom to clean yourself up. There's no way you could possibly carry on with your day without splashing yourself awake with some cold water.
It doesn't take you too long to get ready and dressed, especially since you already picked out your clothes for the day. So in no time, you're walking out of your room, dressed and ready to tackle the day.
"Good morning," you greet cheerfully as you take your designated seat at the table.
"Good morning, beautiful," Jimin says, beaming at you from the kitchen counter. "I made you some scrambled eggs and toast. Is that alright?" He brings over your plate of breakfast and places it in front of you.
"Anything that you make is better than alright, Jimin. Thank you for breakfast," you smile up at him and pick up your fork to dig in. Just then, Jimin's bedroom door swings open, and a shirtless European-looking guy comes walking out. Both of you eye each other unsurely as he makes his way over to the table, where he takes a seat opposite you.
You smile at the stranger, albeit a bit fakely.
"Who's this?" You ask Jimin in Korean, your eyes never leaving the stranger's.
Jimin places a plate of breakfast in front of the man and places one at his seat too.
"I met him last night. Sorry. He'll leave after he eats," he says a bit sheepishly to you as he sits down.
"Hello," you say in English, smiling at the stranger. "Please, eat up." You point to the food before him.
"Thanks," he says, nodding once at you before turning his attention to Jimin. "Is this your girlfriend you were talking about?"
Jimin nearly chokes on the food he's chewing but nods, "My ex-girlfriend."
The guy hums and starts eating his own food.
You briefly make eye contact with Jimin, glaring slightly at him for catching you so off-guard. He knew the rules. No house guests unless the other has been notified about it.
You scoop up the last of your egg with your fork and place it in your mouth. "Thank you for breakfast, Jiminie." You pick up your plate and utensils and carry them to the dishwasher.
"You're not going to drink the smoothie I made you?" Jimin calls out. So that's why he went out of his way to make breakfast this morning, to soften you up about the uninvited guest.
"I'll have it to-go, otherwise I'll be late." You pick up the glass of strawberry and banana smoothie and carefully pour it into one of your reusable travel cups.
"You're not working today?" You ask Jimin as you make your way back into the living room.
"I am. Gotta leave in the next half-hour."
"Alright, I'll see you later then. Text me what I should get for dinner." You grab your handbag from the couch on your way to the front door.
"It was nice meeting you." You nod to the still unnamed guest. He nods and gives you a half-hearted wave.
"Enjoy work today, and tell Gyusung and Yoongi I say Hi." Jimin walks up to you and wraps a scarf, that he honestly pulled out of nowhere, around your neck to protect you from the cold weather outside.
He smiles at you, eyes turning into crescents and crinkling at the sides. "Stay warm and safe."
He places your car keys in your hand and pecks you on the forehead.
"Thanks. Hope you have a good day too," you lean up and peck his cheek.
"And tell Greg to go fuck himself if he asks you to do his work again."
"Are you sure you guys broke up?" Mr. No Name calls out as he eyes the two of you.
You ignore him and give Jimin one more peck on the cheek. "Don't forget to text me about dinner." He nods and opens the front door for you.
"Bye." You call out one more time as you make your way down the stairs of your apartment building.
The freezing cold air immediately hits you in the face as soon as you step out of the building. It would most likely start snowing in the next few days if the decreasing weather is anything to go by. You rush over to your car, working quickly to unlock it so that you can get inside quickly.
"It's so freaking cold today," you mumble to yourself, starting your car up and getting out of the parking. It's a good thing Jimin gave you this scarf, or else you would've probably been even colder than what you currently are. The air conditioning in your car stopped working a few months ago, and you barely have any time (or money) to get it fixed.
The drive to work (aka Yoongi's house) is a quick one, maybe about 10 minutes now that traffic has slightly died down. You pull in the parking spot next to Yoongi's old ass car that he's had since he got his driver's license. At least when you look at his car, you don't feel so bad about your own old car. You get out of your car and make sure to lock it before making your way up the stairs to Yoongi's house.
You ring the doorbell twice, as you do every time as a warning, and unlock the door with your key. "Yoongi," you call out, pushing the door closed behind you.
"In the office!" you hear him call out. You take off your shoes and swap them for your pair of house slippers, taking off your coat and scarf and hanging them on the rack at the door.
"Morning," you greet as you walk into the designated office. Yoongi is sitting in front of his computer, seemingly going through work emails whilst sipping from his coffee mug. That reminds you. Shit. You forgot your smoothie at home. Hopefully, Jimin will see it and put it in the fridge.
"Hey," he mumbles into his cup, his eyes never leaving the screen.
You sit in your own office chair and start up your computer.
"Anything new on your side?" You ask as you log into your account.
Yoongi hums, "I'm meeting some girl later. She's looking for a wedding date.”
"Nice. Those ones are the best. Free food," you open up your email and go through it to see if you have any new job requests.
Bingo. An email from Lee Kyle requesting a consultation for an upcoming event that he urgently needs a date for.
"Free booze," Yoongi mumbles more to himself than in response to you.
"That's not always the case. Lately, a lot of people have been having those buy-your-own-drinks bars," you tell him, clicking on Mr. Lee's email to respond.
"Those are the cheap ones. Those weddings usually suck."
You laugh, "True… not that I drink though."
You quickly type up an email about meeting up with Mr. Kyle, giving him dates and times to choose that are both suitable for you and him, as well as a location.
"You have a job today?" Yoongi asks you, rotating his chair around to look at you.
You send the email and look at him, "Yep. Meeting Gyusung in a bit about an event he wants me to attend with him."
Yoongi hums, lifting his mug up to his mouth to sip from it.
"No freebies. I don't care if he's a high school friend," Yoongi tells you sternly, giving you the same lecture he always does every time you meet up with Gyusung.
"Yesss, I know and so does he. This is my job."
"Good, just making sure," he turns his chair back around to face his computer. "We need to make as much as we can this month if we want to be able to retire debt-free. I'm thinking about upping our prices."
"Increasing the price again? Are you sure that's a good idea?"
"We're literally facing inflation right now. All costs have gone up, and we have things to buy to keep running this business… Suits, dresses, wigs, training, all those things are not cheap… and don't forget about our own earnings that we have to get out of it,” Yoongi lectured. "You have debt to square up, and so do I," He say and sighs.
"I know, I understand. But there's no rush in our retirement. If we can't square everything up right now, we'll just continue working until we can."
"But we agreed that this would be our last month," Yoongi runs his hand over his face and leans back tiredly. "I want to start focusing on making music. I don't want to do this for the rest of my life."
"And you will get to work on your music," you reassure him, getting up and comfortingly rubbing his arm. "Just don't stress yourself out, alright? We'll take it as it comes."
Yoongi sighs but nods at your words. He turns in his chair when he hears your footsteps leaving the office. "Where are you going?"
"To meet a possible client. His name is Lee Kyle. He wants to meet today."
"Alright, I'll see you later, I guess."
"Yeah, I'm meeting Gyusung straight after the meeting, so I'll only be back around 3."
"Ok, cool."
You exit the room and make your way to the room that you and Yoongi changed into the designated closet and dress-up room. Inside is clothing that you both purchased for different occasions and clients.
There was clothes, jewellery, handbags, makeup, ties, suits, shoes, and wigs for any and every occasion. Brands like Prada, Chanel, Gucci, even sportier attires for the few clients who request either of you to play certain sports such as golf or tennis. You and Yoongi worked hard to fill up this room over the years, and it was the most important part of the job to fit into whatever role you had to play.
You browse through your section of the wardrobe, looking for appropriate clothes to meet your potential client. Your hands stop on the Toby Cable button one-piece dress hanging in the closet. You pull out the black mid-thigh dress and inspect it. It's a little bit short for the weather, but if you wear a pair of stockings underneath, it won't be as bad. You could also pair it with a nice black coat.
You start undressing and changing into your new outfit, looking at yourself in the mirror to decide your hairstyle and makeup. You decide on a blush pink lip with minimal makeup and a half-pinned hairstyle.
Since the buttons on the dress are gold, you choose a pair of simple gold Cocobell earrings and your chain-strap Chanel purse. Once you're happy with the look, you pull out the Emily stiletto heels you'll be wearing and make your way out of the closet room.
"Yoongi," you call out as you make your way to the front of the house, "I'm leaving!"
You faintly hear him call out, "Be careful," from the office.
You slip on your heels and coat before you exit the house, double-checking that you have your phone in your bag. The Uber that you ordered is idling in the driveway, so you quickly rush to the car, doing a quick check that it matches the registration on your phone.
"Hi," you greet as you settle in the back seat.
"Hello, are you Y/N?” The male driver asks, reading off of his own phone.
"Yes, I am," you say, smiling at him even though he's not looking at you.
"Your destination is Hotel One and Only?" He double-checks with you.
"Yes."
"Okay, great. Let's get going then." He says, putting the car in drive and pulling out of the driveway.
When meeting clients, old or new, it's always best to never drive your own vehicle. Either take a bus or order an Uber. The less the client knows about your personal life, the better.
The hotel that you're meeting Mr. Lee at is a regular meet-up spot that you organize for all clients. You reserve a table in their tea garden, a place that's neither too quiet nor too busy, to discuss the kind of job the client has in mind and the contract period.
The drive to the hotel is filled with soft music playing in the background. The driver, Mr. Kwon, is a decent man in his middle age trying to make a living for himself as a single parent for his five-year-old son. The entire drive is filled with mindless chatter between the two of you about your lives and even about international topics. By the time you arrive at your destination, you're actually a bit sad to leave.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Kwon. I really enjoyed our conversation," you say, slowly sliding out of the car.
"Are you going to need another ride back home?" The kind, older man asks you. "If you do, you can just privately contact me, and I would gladly take you back. I'll be in the area for a while."
"Okay, cool. I need to be dropped at a place not too far from here. You do have my number from the app, right?"
"I do. I'll send you a text so that you can save my number."
"Thank you. I'll give you a call later." You wave, closing the car door and hurrying inside the hotel.
Knowing your way around this hotel, you make your way to the entrance of the tea garden down the front passage. As soon as you enter, the hostess immediately greets you.
"Good morning, ma'am. Are you here for a reservation?"
You nod, "Yes, reservation under Y/N.”
She gives her list a quick look and nods, ticking next to your name. "You're expecting another guest, correct?" She checks with you as she picks up two menus.
"Yes. He should be arriving shortly."
You follow the hostess through the restaurant as the two of you walk right to the back where the glass greenhouse is located.
"Is this table to your satisfaction?" She asks, pointing toward a medium-sized table placed at the back of the greenhouse, hidden from prying eyes.
"Perfect." You tell, smiling at her as you take a seat. She nods, placing the menu before you and the seat opposite.
"I'll send a waiter to collect your orders after your guest arrives. In the meantime, would you like anything to drink?"
"Just a bottle of water will be fine."
"No problem." She turns and makes her way back out of the glass structure.
You check the time on your watch. Five minutes until your meeting is supposed to start. You hope your client isn't late.
Out of boredom, you start paging through the menu, which you probably have memorized by the number of times you come here. Maybe you should order some lunch for you and Yoongi? You're pretty sure that he doesn't have anything to eat at his house.
So caught up in deciding what to eat for lunch, you completely miss the person hovering over your table until a throat clears. Your head shoots up to the culprit. And damn, wasn't he beautiful.
You clear your throat and stand up from your seat. "Mr. Lee?" The man nods and points to your seat, allowing you to sit back down.
"…Is my assistant," says the man, taking his seat opposite you. You furrow your eyebrows at his words. His assistant? Then why was he here?
"Then where is Mr. Lee? Why am I meeting with you instead?"
"I made Mr. Lee make an appointment with you in his name in case this turned out to be some scam. Hope you don't mind my skepticism." He leans back into his seat and eyes you. There was something about the way that he was watching you and his body language in whole that let you know that he was the one in charge here. This guy was clearly someone important. He oozed richness and fame.
"Alright, so then what do I call you?" You tilt your head, eyeing his expensive suit and wristwatch. You spot tiny little tattoos on his right hand and fingers, but the distance between you two is too far apart to make them out clearly.
"Jeon Jungkook. Nice to meet you, Ms. Y/L/N.” He says, smiling cockily at you.

As autumn sank its grip into the land, Adam abandoned the canvas in favor of paper and charcoal, and began to sketch. He quickly became aware of the disconnect Linden had pointed out, wondering how he could have possibly missed such an obvious thing before. Unable to practice on anyone but his friends, he focused on other studies, much to the despair of his art teachers.
On a blustery, dark night, tapping at one of his windows snapped him awake, heart hammering in alarm he couldn’t yet understand. “Needlemaw!”
The redcap slithered into the room and turned to help Linden in before facing Adam. “I didnae want to go without telling ye,” she began without any warning. “There’s war.”
“War!” Adam felt all warmth drain from him.
“Among the Underfolk, my people, Boul’s people, the smaller sorts beneath the Court,” she hurried to clarify, and her heart both ached and soared to see his stricken look ease not one bit. “‘Tis not uncommon, Adam. We chafe at each other’s edges, and the Queen doesnae help, she’s never bothered. Since she don’t care, none of them do, this is how we solve such things.”
“Will you be alright?!” he demanded. “Will Boul? Can I help? What if you’re hurt?”
“I dinnae ken about Boul, but I think he might be too young to fight. And me, I’ll be hurt, I’m sure of it,” she admitted casually. At his look she added, there’s pointy bits to every side of me, Adam. Did ye think my enemies were naught like me?”
“No, but…” He chewed on his lower lip. “But it’s you I know,” he said at last, as usual striking to the core of the matter in a way the fairy-maid could, and did, understand.
“Och.” She hugged him tightly.
“What about Linden?” Adam turned to face their friend. “Can you help?”
“I would,” Linden looked wounded and angry. “They won’t let me, not Boul, not Needle.”
“What!”
“Linden cannae be seen to be choosing sides within the Court, Adam.”
“Oh, always with the stupid Court! Why can’t it just be gone, everything I hear makes me think everyone’s life would be better if they were gone. Back to wherever they came from, to pester their like there.”
“Yui’re not saying new things, Adam,” Needlemaw said wryly. “Yui’re just saying them louder than most.”
He growled, and then lunged at her and crushed her in a hug that startled the redcap with its strength. “You come back. Can I ask that? You come back to us.”
“Needle, please.” Linden’s arms wrapped around them like the strong branches of a tree. “Please promise you’ll come back. That’s all I want.”
The redcap had never known safety as she felt in that moment, in that embrace. “I cannae promise I’ll come back,” she admitted. “But I promise I will try. I will try with all that I am.”
Something sounded, far away in the woods, and it was impossible to tell if it was a wolf’s howl, or a stag’s bugling call, or a hunting horn. She slipped away from them like sand running through their fingers, and was gone as abruptly as she’d come.
Linden and Adam closed the window and curled up before the fire, lost and clinging to one another, feeling like children bereft in the dark.
It didn’t get any better. As the last harvest festival was planned and prepared, Linden came into the woods one morning to warn Adam that Boul had been decreed old enough to fight. He wasn’t even given a chance to say goodbye.
There was no one they could ask for news. Adam brought dry cherries and cracked barley for the finches and the sparrows, but there was only so much they could tell him; they weren’t travelers, sticking close to nest and mate and flock. The swallows had left when the cold weather closed in. He brought bacon rinds out and spent a night under the jousting yard’s stands, but the smallfolk there were shy, peaceful creatures. They pointed him out to the kelpie’s old pond, and told him to bring salt and meat.
He snuck out on a bitterly cold night with a small bundle over his shoulder, and met Linden in the woods. They raced to the pond as they had once before, their hearts pounding, unsure of what they’d find. As they drew close they saw them at last, rainbow lights dipping and dancing and twisting over the breath-thin ice on the water’s surface, and Linden recoiled. “Adam.”
“Will they help?”
“Adam, we can’t -”
“Linden, I don’t care what they are. Will they help?”
“Maybe,” Linden admitted. “But pixies are dangerous, Adam. They answer to no court, they answer to no one. They claim everything as their prey, even -”
As they watched, three lights suddenly converged against one. A thin, high shriek reached them from across the water. Blood spattered over the delicate ice, steaming for a brief moment. One of the lights went out.
“ - each other,” Linden finished.
Adam drew a deep, shaky breath. “I’m beginning to think it’s only your people who are nice, Linden.”
“We’re mostly nice,” Linden agreed, their voice gone breathy. “Do you still want to do this?”
“Do you?”
“Yes. I wither a little each day, not knowing.”
Adam nodded and took down the bundle. He opened it, reached in, and threw a heavy piece from a steer’s leg on the ground before them.
For a moment nothing happened. But as the scent of raw meat and blood spread on the cold night air, they saw a change come over the idle, lazy chaos of multicolored lights over the still, dark water. Like moved to like and they began to swirl faster and faster in tiny hurricanes.
Adam unwound his scarf, dropped his gloves in the middle of it, and twisted it around sharply, waiting. “Get ready.”
The pixies came like a swarm of angry hornets. They didn’t come for the meat; they arrowed at those who they feared might keep them from such a feast. Adam was done being polite; two of his friends were embroiled in a conflict that he didn’t understand. From what little he knew, it was fighting that could have been avoided, if the Queen Beyond the Woods had bothered to even try.
He swung his makeshift weapon looking for no prisoners.
Two pixies went flying, one to crash into the water and disappearing at once, another to slam against the trunk of a nearby oak with a cry, stumbling down into the blanket of leaves beneath the tree, its golden light nearly gone. Two more, though clipped, managed to backwing away. One avoided the prince altogether, hissing like an airborne viper at him.
A smaller, green flock chose to ambush the survivors. Above, a small cloud of violet light swirled. Watching, Adam guessed. A stream of blue tried to use the foliage of the wild irises as cover to rush up on the two friends.
Linden cried out something Adam couldn’t understand, and the blade-like leaves closed into an impenetrable wall. No lights came out.
Slowly, so slowly, a single violet light spiraled down. “We greet the Danu child. We greet the mortal prince.” The pixie was not human; of all the fairies he’d met, Adam had yet to see one that was so distant from the mortal seeming. It was as if someone had taken clay and smoothed from it two legs and two arms, adding at least two extra joints to each limb but adding no actual body or further noticeable features. It was the size of Adam’s forearm. Its wings were a dragonfly’s, and its skin was an eel’s, smooth and speckled, a deep violet that colored the light coming from it. Its voice was the low growl of a small, angry animal cornered in its den.
“I greet you in return,” Adam replied. “And for your courtesy, I offer this gift to you and yours.” He gestured to the piece of beef and pointedly backed away a step.
The pixie curled up in the air, twisting a leg around until it could scratch its face with the long, birdlike toes on it. There were no eyes to its face, no nose, no ears. Only a gash of a mouth where jagged teeth like broken glass flashed whenever it spoke. “Freely given?”
“For your courtesy,” Adam repeated.
It twittered something and the violet flock crashed down onto the meat, snarling as they tore it apart. Adam let them eat, aware that the green flock, four lights in all, was still floating warily at a distance, and that a dim golden glow was barely visible under the blanket of the dead oak leaves.
Eventually, the same pixie (or so Adam hoped), left the others and fluttered up to Adam, though just out of arm’s reach of both him and Linden. “You have more gifts, mortal prince. We can smell them.”
“Ah, those are not gifts. Those are payment for favors done.”
The flock rose at once. “What need have we to do favors for what is rightfully ours!” the pixie hissed.
“What need have I to offer payment for favors not done.” Adam shrugged. “Winter comes. Prey goes to ground, to sleep the winter sleep, to hide under cover of snow and ice. Winter is a lean time for all predators, even the best ones.”
“We do not answer to you, mortal prince. We do not answer even to the Danu child!”
“I would never ask that you heed me,” Linden replied. “I know what rights you claim, and what you paid for them. They are yours in my woods, always.”
The pixie, apparently bereft of the fight it had been expecting, hung silent in the air. “What favors?”
“News,” Adam said quickly. “Information. There is a war -”
“It is not our concern.”
“I do not ask that you make it your concern,” Adam agreed. “I ask, yes or no, do you understand it, the reason for it? The ebb and flow of it?” He crouched down and from his bag pulled out a plucked duck.
“Duck,” the pixie breathed. “Greasy, rich, dark, fed fat and lazy duck.”
“Careful, pixie,” Linden warned, and the trees all around them creaked in no wind. “We will not be lied to.”
The violet light pulsed like a small heart. “No and no,” it snarled.
Adam hung his head, and threw them the duck all the same. They scattered away from it. “We cannot give you what you ask,” the pixie demanded.
“I did not ask you to,” Adam told it. “I asked you two questions, and you answered them fairly. The payment’s yours. Take it in good faith, but we have no more to say to one another.”
They fell on the duck with enough zeal that a fight nearly broke among their numbers, tearing it apart and dashing away with the bits.
“What about you?” Linden called out to the flock of green hovering over the water. “Can you answer fair and honest?”
They didn’t draw very close; they were the smallest of all the flocks, barely four in number. “What we want, the mortal prince does not have in his wee bag.” The pixie’s voice was a mournful loon’s call. “What we want, the Danu child alone can give.”
Adam looked at Linden in surprise. “It is autumn, nearly winter,” Linden sounded just as surprised. “I’ve very little I can give at the best of times, less now. But ask, and I will give you an honest answer, if nothing else.”
“We want a home.”
“Traitors!” Voices within the wild irises hissed and snarled. “Cowards!”
“We are hungry! We are tired!” A single green light, parting from the flock, shouted back and moved to hover before Linden. “We know war, Danu-child. We know what brings it about. We fought our own for our freedom. But that freedom tastes stale and false when our children wither in their cocoons from hunger. Freedom has brought us nothing but death. Give us a place in your woods. Give us your law; we have watched you, every season of your life. We know you will be fair as the Queen Beyond the Woods will never be. We ask that you count us yours.”
Linden stared helplessly at Adam, who could only shrug. “Do you trust me, pixie?” They stretched out a hand.
Light as a bird, the pixie alighted on their palm and crouched down. They were much tinier, their body no bigger than Linden’s outstretched hand. “We do.”
“I have no court. I only have my woods, my friends.”
“Your woods and your friends are more potent a force than you can imagine, Danu child. We cannot go on as we are. Our light will be gone from the world and we will be forgotten, and I… do not want that for my flock.”
Linden drew a deep breath. “Then I count you and your flock mine, pixie. And these are your first laws: you hunt to eat, not for sport. You do no war upon your kin unless they do war upon you. And if they do, they do war upon me.”
The woods whispered, and Adam felt as if a hundred eyes were bearing witness to something profoundly momentous. Tiny, twittering, nervous sounds came from the wild irises.
Lightly, Linden kissed the smooth, narrow top of the pixie’s head. “It is autumn, nearly winter. But I will find a safe, warm place for you and your flock. If I am warm, you will be warm; if I have food, you will have food. Now answer the mortal prince’s question.”
The pixie, crouched down on Linden’s hand, turned to stare sightlessly at Adam. “Yes. And no.”
Adam groaned, but he crouched down and brought out a string of sausages, the last wealth inside the sack.
The pixies squealed like rusty hinges. “Oh, long squish smoke guts!”
“Meatsy meat!”
“Crunchy grains and twiggy herby herbs!” They dove upon the string when Adam dropped it.
“Mortal prince,” a thin voice of wind on dry reeds rasped out. “I have the answers you seek.”
Linden stared all around in shock. Adam turned toward the oak, not entirely surprised. “Do you?”
“On my life I do,” the last of the golden pixies declared, its voice full of pain. “Spare it, and I will give it to you. I have the answers to your questions, and if what I know does not satisfy you, then I will find those that will.”
Adam balked. “I don’t want to own anyone. I’m not like the Folk in the Woods.”
“I don’t care,” the pixie snarled. “My life is all the coin I have. I cannot be of the woods, I am of the city. If you want your answers, I must live long enough to give them. And if you give me my life, I only have it to repay you.”
Adam and Linden crossed a look. The night had gone nowhere they’d meant for it to go. “You know it’s right, Adam. If we leave it like this, the moment I let the others loose they’ll fall on it. That’s their way,” Linden said quietly.
“I know, I know, but it’s not a thing, it’s not an inkpot or a book or something to be owned.” Adam pressed his hands to his face and made a high sound of profound impatience. “A task then,” he exclaimed on a whim. “If I give you your life, you must find a way to give me mine. Truly and fairly.”
“Truly and fairly.” The pixie dug itself out from where it had hid, among the autumn-kissed leaves. “And then?”
“And then your life is your own. If you stay, you don’t stay because you owe anyone, you stay because you choose to.”
“And if you die before I can repay you?”
“Then you’re free anyway.”
“You make poor bargains, mortal prince.”
“Maybe,” Adam admitted, shrugging off his coat. “But that’s only because I could make them unfair, and choose not to. Pixies.” He showed the flock of green lights the heavy coat. “To warm you, until Linden can find something better. In exchange for one sausage.”
“Is that satin?” one of the pixies cried out in delight.
“Are those buttons brass?”
“The stitching is gold!”
They all but threw the sausage at his feet. Adam dropped the coat and snatched the treat up, moving closer to the golden pixie and unwinding his scarf. “Can you move?”
It was the size and color of a young trout, golden and rainbow, pink and white and green, flecked with black and brown. Its wings were terribly crumpled and broken. “I have moved all that I could, mortal prince,” it admitted wearily.
“Don’t bite me,” Adam warned. As carefully as he could he scooped the tiny fairy up and bundled it up in the scarf, giving it the sausage at last; it was heavier than Adam had expected, and clung to its sausage as possessively as a miser to a coin. “Oh, gods, now what do we do?”
“Well, you go back to the palace before you freeze blue,” Linden told him tartly before gesturing at his coat, which was moving all on its own, full of admiring and delighted pixies. “But I have to tend to this. Pixie, the mortal prince’s questions?”
The golden pixie shifted tiredly its featureless head, too exhausted and wounded to even eat. “Yes. And yes.”
“Go,” Linden told Adam. “Find out what you can, and tell me tomorrow.”
Adam ran.
***
He named the pixie Trout, because it had no name Adam could pronounce. That night, it sat trembling on the prince’s desk as Adam bathed its broken wings on willow-tea and stretched them out from the crumpled, broken heap they’d ended up in. “You don’t look hurt anywhere else.”
“I am not hurt anywhere else. I do not need to be. My wings are all I am.”
Trout knew of war. Sitting there and instructing Adam on the brutal attention to its wings, it spoke on its whispering, papery voice. It was an old creature, though pixies were only a step above the kelpie: they counted 'yesterday’, 'today’ and 'tomorrow’, but little else. It had seen war, and had fought in one where pixies had won, and demanded to be free of any Court, a wish which had been granted to them, and which had turned out to be more curse than blessing. But it couldn’t tell Adam how long ago, or against who, or on whose side. Only that the palace had not been there when it had been fought, and the lights of its folk had outnumbered the stars in the sky.
“This is no war,” it told Adam. “The Court is bored. There are almost no princes left to kill, not until the new crop is weaned. So they made it seem that the above-folk want something from the below-folk and the below-folk went killing the above-folk, and of course neither will abide the other doing that, and here we are.”
“For fun.” Adam had to stop to steady his hands. “They did this for fun. They started a war for fun.”
Trout turned its empty face toward him. “You seem to be caring more about them than about you. I’m not certain those are sensible priorities, mortal prince.”
“Call me Adam. Everyone here is a prince, but I’m still the only Adam.” He went back to work. It had to be hurting, yanking and tugging on the pixie’s wings, but other than grinding the jagged rows of its teeth, Trout did not react. “Do you know who’s winning?”
“No one. Whenever one side gets an advantage, they go sneaky-sneaking in and fix it so it’s all blood and chaos again.”
Adam said nothing to that, because there was nothing he trusted himself to say. Instead he got up and very carefully poured the rest of the willow tea into his wash-basin, thinning it and cooling it with some water from the pitcher. “If you soak your wings in this, they should hurt you less.”
Trout eyed him warily, and Adam added a kerchief next to the basin. “And wash your face, too, you have bits of sausage all over it.”
“It was good sausage,” Trout admitted wistfully.
“If you get better quickly, and can fly to take messages, I’ll get you more sausages. And bacon.”
“Bacon!”
“Don’t fall asleep in the basin, Trout. I don’t want to get bit fishing you out,” Adam teased, weary to his bones and yet somehow glad to know at least one problem in his life could be solved with something so simple as bacon.
Trout huffed with offended dignity, and proceeded to do exactly that. But at least it remembered not to bite when Adam did fish it out and set it down on the pillow next to his own.
***
Winter came on full of bluster and bitterly cold. With pleasant entertainment, the Court didn’t see a need to try and shorten the season, and all the misery they’d been holding back was left to catch up with the mortal world.
Adam got somewhat used to carrying a pixie in his pocket as Trout healed, and discovered perhaps the only good thing to come from the war: the Court would have no winter celebrations. It would not close its doors. Linden could stay in the woods. They didn’t seem nearly as elated about those news as Adam was, at first, and the prince felt his delight wane into wariness. “Isn’t that a good thing? Don’t you want to stay?”
“Of course it’s a good thing!” Linden was watching pixies come and go, filling old squirrel nests with pilfered wool to make nests no one would oust them from. Perched on Adam’s shoulder, Trout watched as well. “Of course I want to stay. It’s just. I mean…. Oh, butter and burrs!” They threw themselves down on the worn root of the linden tree and mumbled.
“What?”
“I said,” Linden exclaimed with an exasperated sigh, “that my hair falls out in winter!”
Adam blinked, the concept of Linden concerned over something so alien as vanity impossible to understand. Then, quite mistakenly, he thought he’d got it. “Oh, so you’ll need a hat, then! You don’t have any.”
Linden peeked at him. “I suppose,” they replied, sitting up with ill-grace and staring closely at Adam. “You won’t think me a silly sight, bare like a tree in winter?”
“Linden, I never think you silly. Reckless and obstinate, but we’re matched on that.” Adam brightened up. “You’ll be here for my birthday! And for the Longest Night! Now I know what to get you for a present.” Linden suddenly hugged him, nearly sending Trout tumbling. “They’ve called you silly for it, haven’t they?”
“Yes.”
“Well, when has their opinion ever mattered to us?”
Bereft of half their family and forced to wait for Trout to heal before they could do anything about it, they focused instead on younger, simpler times, roaming through all the old familiar places, bringing up rich and merry memories of childhood, unwilling to think of the future and refusing to give the bleak present the pleasure of ruining their time together, taking refuge in the past instead. Linden did lose all their white, gold-tipped hair at about the same time the linden tree lost the last of its leaves, revealing a fine spattering of green freckles on the bark-brown, smooth skin; they promptly hid them beneath a satin-lined woolen cap, and then under any number of caps and hats acquired for them not just by Adam, but by Dane and Beli and Culli.
Without that tempting crown of foliage they discovered the horses were no longer inclined to try to chew on Linden, and suddenly riding was not only possible, but enjoyable.
Sometimes the black dog haunted their wake. Sometimes the black stag shadowed them through the woods.
“Perhaps I should have you teach me archery,” Linden commented tartly one of those times, and they saw their everpresent shadow no more, even if the pressure of his presence didn’t ease.
In the winter-sere woods, Adam learned to draw Linden at last; the true Linden, the long-limbed creature as graceful as a willow, as sweet as a linden, as powerful as an oak. He learned the true shape of those graceful hands that would gently lift a pixie up to catch a breeze, the sharp bark talons that could snatch and rend the life out of a rabbit so they could have dinner over a small fire. He groused endlessly about the smaller things, far more precious, Linden’s laugh, the way the shattered eyes shifted through every color with their moods, the way they curled up among the linden tree roots, stuffed in a whole bunch of coats and cloaks and scarves, having merry conversations with the birds that didn’t leave the woods through winter.
He let his eyes lead his fingers as the charcoal stick raced over paper, instead of the other way around. He drew anything and everything, Trout as the pixie peeked warily out of a pocket to speak to the green pixies, always seemingly surprised to be treated with courtesy by them. He drew the woods and added details from memory. He sketched his absent friends and those who waited for him in the palace, Dane and Beli and the Culli-maid, left to his service once Arditty had wed and departed to her own domain.
He would never, he realized one day in profound chagrin, be an artist. Oddly, it didn’t hurt him as it had before. This time he’d tried, he really had. He’d found the flaw in himself and corrected it. He could expect no more of himself.
It was also the day, two weeks before the Longest Night festivities, that he realized there were only two princes older than him in the palace. Everyone else was now younger. When had that happened?
Linden, who’d been sitting in the sun, head upturned and eyes closed, basking in the silver, pale light for it brightness rather than its warmth, looked at Adam as he froze in realization. “Are you finished, then?”
Adam looked at the drawing, and felt something inside him hurt in the best possible way. How could it not be love? “I suppose. I’m not very good at it, but it’s as done as it’s going to get.” He felt heat spilling over his face but made no effort to hide the workbook as Linden moved to their feet and approached eagerly.
“Well, let me see.” They stared curiously at the drawing. No oil or paint or canvas, only charcoal in fine, measured lines, with precision and care. “Is this what you see,” they asked, their voice gone still. “Is this what you see when you look at me?”
“Yes,” Adam admitted readily, his heart beating like a warring sparrow’s wings. “The most beautiful creature in the world.”
Linden’s breath caught with a sharp little sound, and they turned to stare at Adam, who stared right back, almost defiantly. The many-colored eyes bloomed into spring and went to a riot of summer right there in that empty winter clearing, and so slowly, so gently, Linden leaned down and kissed their young, oblivious mortal of a prince for a long, long moment. When they parted away Adam gasped briefly, tasting linden flowers and honey on his lips.
“Adam, what do these people teach you, that it’s taken you this long?” Linden teased.
“Nothing useful,” he admitted, his voice hoarse.
“I’ve bound my life to a blind idiot,” Trout commented dryly from its pocket, and Linden laughed, and for a moment it was summer, sweet and golden, in the shadow of the linden tree.
***
Adam couldn’t keep it to himself, least of all from those who’d known him nearly as long as Linden. Dane took a look at him when he came back that night, dazed with realization, and shook his head, smiling faintly. Beli gave him a narrow-eyed look, and merely warned him very tartly, “Well, this better no interfere with your studies.”
Culli merely smiled. After dinner, as she examined his mending, which was never too onerous a task, with Beli and Dane arguing quietly about something to do with the temperature in the rooms and the outrageous price of ink, she gestured him close. Adam stood before her like an errant schoolboy. “Well,” she told him. “It’s been a bit long coming, hasn’t it.”
Adam sagged and blew a long breath. “Am I the only one who didn’t know?”
“Well, it’s not that we knew,” she corrected him. “It’s just that there had to be a reason for such as Linden and such as you to come together.”
“We were friends! We’ve always been friends.”
“Aye, Highness, that’s the very point. I’m not saying they loved you from the first. But they did want to be your friend from the first. Their heart was freely given on nothing but what they saw and weighted on a wee lad. How many do you know of their kind that do that sort of thing?”
Adam licked his lips. “Only the ones they’ve brought. Only our friends.”
Culli nodded, and then shook her head in wonderment. “It’s hard to know you and not love you, Highness,” she told him, and laughed a little when he flushed red to his ears. “Well, go on now. Whatever Beli and Master Leminy might have to say about your lessons, you have to make up for lost time now, don’t you? Will you be inviting them to the Longest Night ball?”
Adam chewed on his lip. “I want to, Culli. I want to so much. But it seems so dangerous. The Dowager’s so blind in her hatred. I think I need to speak to them about it.”
“About it and about many other things.” She gave him a pointed look.
Adam scurried into his bedroom as fast as he could.
The thing was, they didn’t want to talk about the future, because to discuss a future without including Boul or Needlemaw in the conversation seemed too much like tempting fate to snatch them away in the present. Trout’s wings were sloughing off like skin from a sunburn, and the pixie was even more impatient than Adam to be airborne, often clinging to the ears of the prince’s charger as the horse raced over the meadows just so it could feel the bite of the wind, as if afraid it would forget what it felt like. Until the pixie could fly they couldn’t send word to either of their friends about the Court’s treachery, couldn’t know if sending word would even do any good.
In the end, Linden decided against the ball. Much as they wanted to see the glitter and beauty that Adam described, much as they hoped that in its own way it would be better than the wondrous galas of the Folk Beyond The Woods, they knew the Dowager Queen for another deadly enemy, and the party for another trap wrapped in satin, gossamer and jewels.
Adam had never really attended the ball beyond showing up, dipping his head politely at the Dowager and making a round of whatever adults had been invited; nothing else was expected of him. It took longer that year because he was repeatedly stopped to hear commentary about how tall he was getting, how broad across the shoulders, how fair on the face. In the end he had to practically sneak into the kitchen, snatching snacks as he went and shoving a crispy meat pastie into the pocket of the elegant, severe blue frock coat he was wearing as a Prince of the Blood. Trout’s appreciative trill nearly broke glass.
He dashed away into the woods with a satchel full of gifts, and dropped it in shock when he came to the clearing.
Lights hung everywhere, delicate floating bubbles of color. A few were Linden’s pixies; the rest they’d conjured to dispel the shadows of the longest night upon the world, and the clearing basked in delicate, multicolored light that made the ice flash like precious jewels.
He gave them their gift, a wheel of cheese cut into fourths and a whole cured ham hock cut into thin slices, and watched them dance in delight, grinning. Until the sight of Linden took his breath away.
Before they’d decided against attending the ball, Linden and Adam had discussed the matter of attire with some trepidation. Apparently in the Court they were given no choice as to what to wear; it was provided for them and that was that. Adam had no such concerns, and was quietly and deeply incensed at the casual cruelty of such a simple thing as taking choice away from someone you wanted to impress. He explained in great detail the cut and fit of his own outfit, and with some difficulty the more complex and colorful gowns of the ladies of the court, to which he’d never paid a great deal of attention. It was just as well they’d decided against the ball, and both of them blew secret breaths of relief at it.
But that night Linden had chosen an attire for the only person in the world for whom it mattered. They were a fey thing indeed, as luminous as the pixies. The green freckles on their skin gleamed in the dark. Their shattered eyes glowed like sacred lights. Exactly a replica to Adam’s clothing to every stitch, they wore a fine white shirt and a rich cravat under a frock coat of every shade of green, every tree stitched in brown with painstaking precision. Their pants were the soft, dark brown of rich earth, dotted with stitched shapes of birds, of mice and squirrels and deer, of wolves and hawks and snakes. Their feet were bare.
There was a thin circlet of living vines on their very bald head.
“You’ll be cold,” Adam protested in a daze. “You’re beautiful, Linden. You’re a prince more than I ever will be.”
Linden laughed and it was alright, it was really Linden, his Linden. “Do you like it? It took forever to make and I kept thinking someone in the smallfolk would tell you and it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore.”
“I think it suits you,” was all Adam could say. He dropped the satchel and rummaged through it until he found a present. Unsurprisingly, it was a hat.
“Oh, thank you, yes.” Linden threw the crown of vines aside, where it promptly burrowed and slithered into the ground, and dragged the hat almost to their ears. Only then did Adam notice that one of their hands was still bark, rather that smooth brown skin.
“Linden.”
“Mm? Oh, that.” They smiled in triumph and offered the hand. “Look.”
Adam took the hand in his and looked. His breath caught; there, surrounded by bark, sat the iron ring, untarnished but made harmless not by fey power, but by the very nature of Linden themselves. “You did it. Linden, you did it!”
“I did! I told you I could.” They chewed on their lip. “I gave the knife to Needle, before she left. I hope she’s alright. I hope that was alright.”
“Well, the handle’s from some sea creature, so she should be fine if that’s all she touches.” Adam saw the light of the shattered eyes falter, and drew himself very straight, offering his most refined and elegant bow. “May I have this dance?”
Linden laughed, caught by surprise. “Are you sure it’s alright? Dressed like this? Maybe I should’ve got the other kind of clothing.”
“It’s just clothing. It’s like me being called a prince, it’s just a title because I’m related to the Dowager. Honestly I have no idea how they dance with all those skirts piled on top of one another. This is much nicer.” Linden surrendered their hands, and Adam took them, and they danced to music only they could hear, knowing only that they had one another, and that it was enough. “I wouldn’t care what you wore, Linden. I only care that it’s you.”
They kissed, sweet and shy and glad, and then laughed and danced until the cold chased Adam back to the palace.
Neither of them saw the mismatched eyes, one green and one gold, staring at them with hate from the dark.

I feel like, if Dream were to have a canon romantic partner, I am ABSOLUTELY certain it would be Ccino.
Like...bro, it makes perfect sense to me.
I ship Fluffynight but I've never been a BIG fan of the ship, I just think it's cute.
And I feel like the ship that should be canon, instead of Fluffynight (at least for a while, since Fluffynight is no longer canon, if I'm not mistaken) is Fluffydream.
Imagine the potential for angst?
Dream would go to Ccino's cafe to have a coffee to stay awake to save the multiverse.
And Ccino would be a little down because of Nightmare and the toxic relationship they both had.
Dream and Ccino could be friends, because they both have problems, and they could identify with problems about the pressure of having to help everyone, with Dream having to help the multiverse and Ccino having to help his coffee shop grow, and also losses they had in life, with both having lost Nightmare, with Dream having lost his brother because he ate the apple and Ccino losing the person he thought loved him, but no, he just manipulated him to absorb free negativity.
Dream and Ccino want the people around them to be well, even though they themselves are not.
After Dream finds out what his brother did to Ccino, I feel like he would feel pretty bad as he would be seeing more and more that his brother is gone.
But he would be supporting Ccino; visiting him if possible, giving him advice...
And Ccino would start to see Dream as someone he could truly trust, without being manipulated, used, or anything.
Dream would try to hide his problems, but he wouldn't be able to, Ccino goes through problems too, he would already know when someone is going through things like that.
And then, just like Dream did for him, Ccino would support him and help him with whatever he needed.
He would even give him a place to spend the night after his "multiversal travels", and would accept him with open arms to have a coffee in his cafĂŠ.
...bro...they have so much potential that I wanted to write more and more things, but otherwise I would spend 2 hours writing-
can we please make ccino x dream less of a rarepair PLEASE???? i am BEGGING right now???

It’s December so you know what that means, flying to the rock. The thing is I am already feeling sad for the inevitable 3 weeks from now when I will be leaving and I won’t see my parents for another year possibly.
I really don’t want to repeat myself here on this because it is always about the same. Always trying to figure out how to get to Newfoundland while I watch my parents health slowly deteriorate year by year. It is like watching an hour glass I only really see once a year. I will save my thoughts for my personal journal.
Flying to and from St.John’s will be rough both ways this time and there is no ways around it. I am here pretty early because I don’t want to risk any shit happening, not like much wrong goes on at YVR. Of all the airports I have been through YVR is one of the more solid and on the ball ones, more organized and least stressful unlike Pearson. Thankfully at least for now that my trip to and from will not involve Pearson at all.
I fly from Vancouver to Edmonton, wait 2 hours or so then Edmonton to Halifax and then from there to St. John’s. Getting back it’s from St. John’s to Halifax where I will have a 6 hour lay over. Then Halifax to Calgary, one hour later it will be Calgary to Vancouver when I get back at midnight. I will will be working the next day.
This itinerary is unique to the others for the sheer fact that I bypass Pearson and Trudeau Airports completely.
The flight to St. John’s is usually less rough than the trip back. Normally because at least getting to Newfoundland I can sleep through some of it where the flight back I am often awake all of the way through as I am flying through the day.
I will leave my review and my plans for 2023 to myself till Jan 2 because much of what I am doing like I normally do in NFLD is to plot things. I always have a huge list of things I want to do and I only ever accomplish maybe 25% of it.
This time around I want to remake an AMV, if I have time I want to start a brand new one but that is a stretch goal. I want to make a new one for Animeathon 2023 to mark 20 years since I first submitted an AMV to a contest. The same guy who organized it then organizes it now, I wonder if he will remember me. Probably.
I also want to make some headway on my playlist project, this whole project as a whole started coming up to 3 years ago and I am getting closer to finishing it but I know even if I fully committed to it in these 3 weeks I won’t complete it. I am almost done year 21 which was the most traumatic year of my life starting the darkest era of my life. I will have a lot of booze at my disposal. I am hoping to at least complete up to 23.
The next thing is to apply to more pools and positions for NFLD or if anything out of Vancouver. As much as I want to find a position close to my parents I am starting to realize that unless I really press on someone it won’t happen on merit alone. I hate that we live in a society where bitching, complaining or pressing on others is the only way things get done. I feel like I have done nothing but a whole lot of pressing on people. I feel like I am turned into a Karen this year with the amount of nagging and pressing on people to get their shit together so I can get on with completing my work. That alone is what has exhausted me.
Next is need to figure out how I am going to afford to live in Vancouver when my acting is over and I go back to living off one pay cheque as one pay cheque check goes completely to rent. The thing is I have been fairly good with finances this year. I lowered my beer intake, didn’t travel all that much even to Victoria. While I did start subscriptions I am starting to regret subscribing to I have been frugal but the prices of everything has been beating me. Most of my money has went straight to groceries which even then is me really cheaping out. At least in the lunch and dinner. I am sure it’s my breakfast that is the priciest part of my groceries but I really don’t want to cheap out on it. Everything I eat in the morning is to allow my body (brain most importantly) work at its peak patient and it works.
Which is why I must continue to try and find a way out of a Vancouver, period.
Most importantly I will be spending time with my parents and Jayden enjoying playing with him as a child before he grows up.
There is also catching up on movies but that will be done regardless and is the one thing I accomplish the most either way.
As much as I want to spend time with my parents it’s not easy because all they want to do is sit on the couch watching CBC, game shows or play bingo. I guess as old people are. I feel like a shit taking the tv but also most of the movies I want to watch my parents don’t like. My mom can barely see and unless it is a very simple movie and English my dad has no interest.
When I am in the basement I feel like I am spoiling what finite time I have with my parents but the thing is I do not know what we could do together at their age but just sit there with them.
I got another 2 hours to wait for my flight to start boarding. I can’t help but think about how I made this trip almost every year since 2008. Since 2008 I have had the month off to be with my parents, often the only vacation I would ever take. Most of my stories of the trip were all forgettable to be perfectly honest till Pearson finished its renovations and then from there on out going through Pearson has almost always been stressful and well documented on this blog at least for, 2014 on.
Prior to the renovation going through Pearson was pretty easy. The wing I entered was the wing I left. The gate I would leave was often just across the room but as I am sure I have said a lot over the years, after the renovation it was always on the opposite side of Pearson which is a huge airport. Most of my strongest memories was almost always running from one end to the other and just barely getting there in time. I have missed two flights in that airport though. One plane getting in too late with no time for me to get the gate in time and another was more or less the same thing but weather stranded many of us in Toronto back in 2018 due to the weather bomb that hit the east.
I fully expect westjet to redo my flight back, they have done it 3 times in a row now I think and they have almost always left me with worse flights than before though I can’t imagine my itinerary getting worse than it already is…..well I can it can go through Pearson.
I have about 90 minutes now before boarding and I start what will be a long series of flights to Newfoundland. I am growing to hate flying more and more as I get older. I don’t blame my parents for not wanting to do it anymore. It’s cramped and stuffy which makes my sinuses act up immediately. I never have any room and everyone always brings all of their luggage on as carry on though they won’t be using any of it. I have always hated when people do that but I get it. Checking baggage in is always so expensive so everyone tries to save as much as they can but abusing the personal bag and carry on bag rules.
Then they only give you a small bag of pretzels or cookies with a small cup of something to drink. Whenever I ask for the can I always get a glare from the crew like “What makes you so special that you get a can while others get a small cup?” I feel if someone ever asked that of me I am Karen enough these days to say well if I am going to pay the ridiculous price tag it costs to fly in this fucking country the least Westjet or Air Canada can do is give me a full can of fucking ginger ale! I am almost positive it only costs them a buck mark up.
At least traveling seems less scary this time around. Last year I was so paranoid and scared. This was the first time I flew since prior to the pandemic, we are not entirely out of it all yet as restrictions were starting to lower but not long after going to Newfoundland Omi corn came and essentially kept me in the house though I would have done it anyway.
Now I am quadruple vaccinated and wearing a mask I feel I am as protected one could be. Feel like almost everyone I know has had COVID but me. Makes me wonder if it’s thanks to my diet, my very strong immune system or avoiding everyone all of the time? Probably all of the above.
At this point I just don’t want to catch COVID and bring it with me to my parents. My parents are more shut in than I am these days so I doubt they could catch and spread it themselves so it would be me if anyone.
I am excited to see them but again I can’t help but be sad, Time is finite with them but all I can do is enjoy what time I have with the, while I still have it.
So here we go to the rock again.

Tumblr media
WHEN THE EARLY MORNING CAME, you had to remember that you were buried between the sheets of an expensive hotel, hands rummaging around the bed as you came to your senses. "Good morning Princess," Jungkook said, causing you to clutch your chest at the realization of where you were. It had to have been past 2 am when the manager responsible for their traveling called you and let you know that Jungkook had landed in America with the rest of BTS. You hadn't seen him since Vegas so at the idea of meeting him again, you jumped for the next available flight that the manager was able to put you on.
"You scared me," you smiled at him, accepting the little nose kiss that he given you. Jungkook had been awake for a few hours, you could tell, iPad on his lap and he went over the promotion schedule for their upcoming anthology album. He was here in America to do so, but of course you were in his calendar as well. "How was the flight?" You asked, leaning up to melt your lips at his jawline before resting your head on his shoulder.
"Long. I hated it, but I get to see you," He said with a slight giggle and you placed a soft kiss at his lips. While you took care of your hygiene, Jungkook got an early start in the kitchen on breakfast. You took a few seconds to glance over yourself in the mirror, hands running over your caramel skin with a smile at your features. This was your life. You had been dating BTS' Jungkook for a little over two years now and with all the patience it took, you were glad that you endured it.
There had been so many sleepless nights missing him, missed SKYPE calls because of the timezone and unexpected high charges to your phone bill when you called him on accident while he was in Korea. You had several conversations with your mother and your best friend about the possibility of things getting serious and how it would work. There was a standard to uphold in Korea for idols and dating was not one of them.
Especially a plus size, black woman.
"Are you in here driving yourself crazy again?" Jungkook looped his arms around your waist and leaned down to kiss your neck. You nodded your head, running your fingers over the veins in his arms and the tattoos that decorated his skin. Jungkook was aware that you thought of the future and he was also aware that it drove you mad sometimes. "Let's get some food in our systems and talk, alright?" He said, placing one last kiss at your ear before returning to the kitchen.
The entire time that breakfast was made, it ran through your mind what the talk could be about. You had been loyal to Jungkook for two years and marriage could've been in the air, but it hadn't been. That was fine for you, too. You knew that this love was more than a piece of paper. You took a bite into your bacon as he chatted on the phone with Namjoon, mapping out what the week would look like. When he served you a mimosa, he kissed your head and returned to the phone call. "I've gotta go, hyung."
He took a seat next to you instead of at the head of the table, laughing that you had beat him in starting breakfast. "Do you remember what I said to you while boarding the flight?" He asked, leaning to eat a chunk out of his eggs and peering into your eyes.
"That I was your world and to make sure that I was prepared to get my back blown in?" You asked in confusion, causing him to snort as he sipped his banana milk.
"No, not that. The other thing!" He laughed as he pushed your shoulder.
"Oh! You and Jimin had been looking for a condo for side activities. Did you find one!?" You said, leaning forward as he scrolled on the iPad. You took a look at the internal design, weeks of going through floor plans with Jungkook over the phone. You knew how important this space was for him and Jungkook, intentions of a boxing and dance studio coming into mind while they picked. It was an absolutely gorgeous townhome with 4 bedrooms and two areas where bathrooms could be placed. The first floor of the town home was perfect to insert a studio in. "I love it!"
He admired you while you admired something. . . That you had no idea was yours. Yes, the first floor was perfect for a studio of some sort to be placed in it, but maybe something surrounding music so that he could be at home and work while not being at HYBE so often if you agreed to move in. You had beautiful eyes when you were excited and those chubby cheeks that he loved flushed over red whenever you were passionate about something. God, he loved you.
"Jungkook?" You asked, noticing that he had been staring at you instead of the pictures while you scrolled and brainstormed on ideas.
"Sorry, you're my distraction." He admitted with a scrunched nose. "Can I tell you something?"
In which you nodded, watching him take a nervous breath. "This is ours," He said and you remained looking at him with a soft expression. "Not me and Jimin. Ours."
You could feel the increase of your heart and for a moment, you swore that the temperature had increased. "You want me to move in with you?"
"So badly." He admitted. You had to keep your excitement at bay and not jump him on this table, a soft smile spreading across your features. You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him all over his face. "I know it had been a worry, but I want to show you how serious I am about you." He said through the kisses, looping his arms around your waist.
"This is the best news ever. Of course I will!" You watched as he stood and carried you bridal style across the living room, your hand assisting him in opening the bedroom door. "Jungkook! Jungkook wait!" You said through giggles as he checked his phone, placed it on silent and then closed the bedroom door.
TWO MONTHS LATER.
"I'll be home a little later tonight, can you head to the market that I like?" Jungkook asked over the phone, trying to catch his breath as he practiced with his boxing coach. You could hear loud music in the bathroom and Taehyung who had been laughing at something that was happening in the background.
"Of course I will, thank you for the workout picture!" You joked, raising from the couch and looking over to a sleeping Bam. You had taken him out for a walk earlier but do to it raining, you had to bring him back inside a little earlier. Jungkook had placed you in one of the high end neighborhoods where it was gated and although you didn't mind, you loved heading to certain parts of Seoul where it was crowded and rowdy just like the city life back home.
After the short conversation, you placed a jacket on yourself since it was getting cold and then one on Bam, who would be your protection as you took a car into the city and got some of Jungkook's favorite street food. For the most parts, traveling was discreet and safe because who cares about a black girl that's trying her hardest not to be seen?
"Thank you," You said in Korean to the shop owner who had packaged your food, Bam sitting along the street in content as the world moved around him.
"Bam!" Someone said in Korean and the excited voice caught his attention, causing him to raise and stand at the sound of his name being called. A group of girls dressed in all black with face masks on and large cameras shot a picture of you causing you to curse and turn with a soft tug on Bam's leash. You waved to your driver, who assessed the situation and escorted you into the truck.
Driving like a bat out of hell, you sent a text to Jungkook.
LOML 🤍:
I think I was spotted.
2 HOURS LATER.
Food was far past enjoyable since you were too busy crying, face buried in napkins as your spotting in the public broke news via Dispatch an hour after it happened. Jungkook had rushed home with the weight of promising the boys that everything would be alright on his shoulders. Namjoon was the first one you spoke to and he asked you questions pertaining to your safety and if you had been followed, which your driver would confirm with all of management.
"We have to move out tonight, but I found another apartment who is going to let us move in because of who I am," Jungkook said, placing your head on his chest and watching the commentators fly on the local news channel. It was the first "Scandal" that would occur with BTS' name involved.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't think anyone would r-r-recognize him and," You said with a sigh, giving up on speech when it was hard to talk while you cried. He reassured you that things would be fine, that's all he could do.
"We'll get ahead of this, okay? Come here," He said while placing a kiss at your lips. He carried you to bed and sung you to sleep, trying to make sure that you were okay above all. While you slept, Jungkook placed your thigh over his torso and you held on tighter, causing him to coo at your cuteness. He pulled his phone out and snapped a picture from an angle, which protected your identity but would also send a message.
The next morning while you moved in and Jungkook tended to meetings, your phone had been going off with over a million mentions in a few minutes. You had to finish settling in with the movers that HYBE and BigHit had assigned, but it couldn't hurt to see what the media was saying. The last thing you expected was to be sent a post from your best friend from Jungkook's personal instagram with you in it. You had been protected, face and all covered and knocked out in your favorite position on him, in his oversized hoodie. You smiled even more at the caption.
Rather be with you.

im not into hermitcraft, not even the slightest bit, but i logged off of tumblr for 3 days to return to the hermitcraft world being lifted towards the moon??? That grows big?? ?And theres a cult??? Around the moon???? Big Moon???? Something about a company too??? I think they hate the glare guy. he looks like he has zero thoughts constantly.. .But why sleep deprived skins??? Do yall need therapy holy shit-
(btw ur not obligated to explain, im just so lost and i think its very funny not knowing any of the context)
oh anon 😭 this is so funny here I'll try to give a short breakdown. if you want to continue to not know context you can skip it. honestly you may end up more confused anyway though!! yes the hermitcraft server is going through it and it seems we're hurtling towards the apocalypse at a rapid pace. it may possibly happen next week. multiple people are, like, fleeing the planet since it seems doomed. so:
1. Moon is big because it is moving closer to earth. It seems like it will crash into the server.
1a. Tango is trying to set off an explosion on the moon to put it back in its original orbit. mumbo wanted to blow up the moon but failed.
1b. keralis is inexplicably in space and has been for months despite being seen by the server more recently than that, and i for one am really interested in knowing if this is like, a hallucination? or a clone? or an alien? is keralis just Like That? bdubs can also apparently travel to space regularly. this is not explained
2. The moon being so close is affecting gravity. Everyone seems to have permanent flow falling and jump boost. The blocks that were being picked up and dropped back down are now just flying off into space and not returning so the ground is littered with holes (although not really from an out-of-story perspective). there's also a lot of earthquakes. basically, it looks and feels like the world is literally disintegrating around them
3. the Mooners is a...group (cult) created by Mumbo worshipping "The Great Lunar Neighbor." Mumbo was convinced that they had angered the moon by sleeping the night away, and that if they all stayed awake they would please the moon.
4. hence, the sleep deprived skins of everyone who joined the mooners who didn't sleep for days. also, they made the phantoms laugh and recorded hallucinations for each other. they are dedicated to the bit. impulse built a sanctuary for the phantoms since they're "friends." pearl is having a sleepover <3
4a. the one who wants bdubs (glare guy) dead is scar. he only joined the mooners so he could specifically murder bdubs. bdubs is known for always sleeping ASAP (the exact thing the mooners is against) but i think scar would have murdered him no matter what because he's just Like That
4b. cub thinks one of the paintings in the game (a moon with a flaming skull) is a prophecy, apparently. also scar is being a perfect little scamming capitalist and fleecing everyone in exchange for getting on a rocket to escape the planet
5. there's also a mind controlling moon rock that ren and doc have been killing hermits and sacrificing their heads to it. also, the hermitcraft server may be a simulation according to ren and doc's lore. frankly I don't think I could explain hermatrix lore to you but it's an arg basically that is being solved by the community as episodes release and seems to influence this lore
6. the moon being closer also seems to be interfering with evil xisuma's magical powers, causing xisuma to start to break free from mind control he's been under all season? at least based on what I hear on tumblr, im not caught up on X right now. basically the whole evil empire is yet another plot thread woven in that connects in places! also there was an animation on one of X's videos a few months ago with some hels (evil) hermits in it and I'm still wondering about that too
7. i don't think i even have to answer this they ALL need therapy. we all need it too

KUROO
Your boyfriend was away for a week, traveling for work. You were so excited. You wanted to surprise him and be all over him as soon as he got home to your shared apartment. However, his flight was delayed due to severe weather forecasts. So here you were, in your favorite shirt (stolen from Kuroo ofc), laying in bed. There was some movie playing on the TV, but it was around 2 am when Tetsuro got home. He practically tiptoed to your bedroom, after calling out into the darkness. As soon as he approached your doorway, he relaxed. He had a small smile on his face once he saw you passed out on the bed. God, he missed you. You looked so peaceful, sprawled out on your shared bed. Your shirt had ridden up and he wanted nothing more than to hear you scream his name. But he couldn't possibly disturb his girl. He leaned over and kissed your head, murmuring a quick 'hey baby'. You mumbled something and snuggled into his pillow closer, making his heart melt.
ATSUMU
"Babe, I'm home!" Atsumu yelled into the dark hall. It was late, and he just got home from a week-long away tournament. You didn't respond, so he walked quietly towards your room, dropping his bag at the door once he saw you. You were wearing one of his favorite shirts, peacefully sleeping. He tried to be as quiet as possible and jumped in the shower as fast as he could and crawled into bed, trying his best not to wake you. "Sumu?" You mumbled, blinking your eyes open. "Shh, go back to bed, I'm back." You looked at him through lidded eyes before dropping your head onto his chest with a smile on your face. You wrapped your arms around him and gave him a quick hug before drifting off in the same position. Snuggled up to him. He ran his fingers through your hair as he started to fall asleep, so glad to be back with you.
OIKAWA
Throughout his trip, he'd called and texted a bunch. But despite all the communication, having the bed all to yourself only made you excited before he left. The nights without him were hard. The days too. You missed fighting for the blankets in your sleep. That's just how Tooru was. But finally, he was returning. And you couldn't even stay awake for his entrance. Although, it was not as good as the previous ones. He walked through your shared space, eliminating the places you could be. He heard music playing softly coming from your bedroom, so he followed. And there you were. Head on his pillow. But still on your side of the bed. He smiled and lifted the blanket to curl up next to you when you stirred awake.
"Hey" You were so tired you didn't realize it had been a while since you'd seen him. You just wrapped your arms around him and rested your head on him before falling back asleep. His arms wrapped around you and he silently laughed to himself about the whole situation.
SUNA
He wasn't known for being the most affectionate, but you loved him. And he was so good to you. He had to go on these trips often, so it wasn't much of a surprise. It upset him that you had become so used to him leaving. You had always assured him to not worry, you didn't mind the alone time. He too wasn't much of an extrovert, but he hated being apart from you. Once he got off the team bus, he was off. Didn't say 'goodbye' to any teammates, just needed to get home to see you. Though, when he opened the door, very few lights were on. The kitchen light was on, so he traveled their first. He found a note on top of his favorite snacks. You always bought him those whenever he came back. It was just your dynamic. He smiled to himself before turning the light off and going to find you. He knew where to find you. And he was right. The room was dark, but he could see you perfectly. His shoulders relaxed and he let out a breath he didn't realize he had been holding. He quickly changed and got in next to you. You blinked at him before smiling lazily and kissing his cheek before pushing him down so you could use him as your pillow. He wrapped an arm around you and squeezed lightly, making you move closer to him. Oh, how he missed you.

I was sitting on floor doing my yoga stretches as soft music played in the background. I heard keys in the front before it opened and an exhausted Warren and Nicolas walk in. Nicolas was hunched over stumbling and barely able to walk. Warren had his arm around his torso holding up his partner.
"Really Nicolas, again?" We layed him down into the couch.
"I'm sorry" he signed. I sighed and turned to Warren. "Let me look at you." He swiftly tried to walk out of the apartment. I grabbed him by the half ponytail and he turned around.
   "I'm fine, all good."
"Sit down and let me bandage your side" I said as I pointed to the blood and gash on his arm. He sighed in defeat and closed the door before having a seat next to Nic on the couch.
"Okay fine." I went to the kitchen and grabbed the first aid kit and water for both men. I walked back into the living room and kneeled down next to the couch to tend to Nic first. I handed Warren gauze to apply pressure to his would as I helped nic with a cup of water and examined his wounds.
"So who's going to tell me what happened?" I glanced at the cuts on Nic's arms, face and deep purple bruises on his torso. When no one spoke I stood and motioned for Warren to stand. He stood as I grabbed what I needed to bandage him up.
"Nicolas, you're pretty quiet." I glanced over at my 'drowsy' boyfriend of 2 years waiting for his to sign to me. He gave a small grunt before sitting his cup down and rolling onto his back. I looked up at Warren as he tried desperately to avoid looking at me.
"Okay, that's fine. No one wants to tell me what happened. I'll just bandage you guys up like the on call nurse I am." I rolled my eyes as I began to bandage up Warren. When I finished I checked to make sure it was secure.
"Here, take these twice a day for a week and you should be fine. Don't miss any or you'll get an infection." I handed Warren the antibiotics and kneeled on the floor next to try couch to give Nic my attention.
"Okay, thanks Yn." I gave a nod as I began to clean and bandage Nic's cuts. "See you tomorrow Nic, you owe me a new shirt." Nic gave a grunt before signing "whatever fucker." Warren chuckled before leaving and closing the door.
"Why do you keep doing this? I hate when you do this." Neither of us bothered to make eye contact. He gave me a grunt in response to my question.
"You always take way too many. You're doing damage to your body. You were doing so good. Is this about us?"
He turned his head as he usually did when he wanted to avoid conversation when I cornered him. It's been about a month of Nic not abusing his meds and he was doing so well, earlier this week he and I had a conversation. Nic is such a sweet man and it definitely shows when it's sexy fun time. Looking at the tall and broad man you wouldn't expect him to be such a softie, but he is. During love making he always made sure I was okay and took his sweet time with me.
Earlier this week we sat down to talk and I told him I wanted to try something different in the bedroom. His curiosity was peaked until I told him I wanted him to destroy my insides. I didn't phrase it like that of course but that's the best way to summarize it. His face dropped as if he wasn't interested in talking about it anymore. I tried to convince him that it was okay to be rough with me and it could help with his pint up frustration. He convinced me to drop it and we would talk about it later, but later never came. Ever since that conversation he's been a more irritable than usual. I'm not sure what exactly made him so upset about the conversation but it needed to be resolved before he goes too far.
I huffed as I moved onto his torso to bandage his midsection. He sat up and I placed my hand on his knee as I sat the bandages down to sign.
"Theses nothing wrong with being rough with me. I can take it." He let out a grunt.
"I don't want to have this conversation right now."
"Then when? You said we would talk about it and every time I try you avoid it."
"Yn were not going to have this damn conversation right now." His hands moved in an aggressive way showing he was serious.
"Fine" I said aloud. I slid his button up down his toned and muscular arms before sitting the stained garment down next to me.  I picked the bandages up again as Nic leaned forward for me to bandage him. I began to wipe him down and bandage up his torso. After I finished I looked up at him and began to sign.
"Look, I don't want to upset you while you're like this but I just want to try something new. I know you won't actually hurt me I just want you to meet me halfway Nicolas, that's it. Take your antibiotics." I picked up the bloody shirt and walked into our shared bedroom. I put the shirt in the bin for me to wash and repair later. I layed on the bed and rolled up under the cover. My eyes began to get heavy causing me to slip off into slumber.
—HOURS LATER—
I felt the bed dip in next to me causing me to stir in my half awake state. I felt eyes on me and a hand on my arm. I open my eyes to see Nic staring at me.
"Take a shower with me." I had no chance to respond as he unwrapped me from the blanket and picked me up. He carried me to the bathroom and stood me up as he turned on the shower. The bathroom began to fill with steam as I watched Nic undo his belt and pants. He grabbed the bottom of my shirt pulling it above my head. He dropped his pants as they pooled at his ankles. He stepped out before I stood up. He grabbed onto the waistband of my bottoms and pulled them off of me. My leggings and underwear pooled at my ankles. I stepped out and into the shower; Nic stepped in behind me. The hot water hit my chest and shoulders causing me to awaken. I turned my back to the water facing Nicolas.
   "How's the water?" He signed.
"Amazing" I said as I ran my hands over my arms.
"Tell me your boundaries." I looked at him in confusion. "If you really want me to be rough with you then I need to know your boundaries."
"I'm yours for the taking. Do whatever you want to me." I placed my hands on his chest as I saw a glint of something new in his eyes. He turned us around before signing again. "On your knees now, and keep those beautiful eyes on me."
—SPICE HEAD—
I dropped to my knees ready to obey his every command. My head was tilted upward looking at him as he stepped closer. His large hand landed on the top of my head before sliding to the back. I looked down as his hand began to stroke himself. His hand gripped my hair as he tugged making me meet his gaze again. I placed my hands on his thighs as I began to move then upward. I felt his tip meet my lips causing me to open my mouth. I stuck out my tongue as he tapped his dick on my tongue a few times before hitting the back of my throat. I kept my eyes on him as I began to use both hands to stroke while I suck.
Deep groans left his mouth as He began to fuck my face. He held a firm grip on my hair as he moved his hips. I relaxed my throat allowing him to fuck my face however he wanted. Removing my hands I pulled his hips forward and took his full length into my mouth. His head went back as I watched him begin to unravel. Seeing the water cascading over his chest and shoulders as he let out moans of pleasure was all the motivation I needed. I slowed down teasing him causing him to look back down at me but something was different. There was this dark look in his eyes that I'd never seen before.
He readjusted his grip on my head before stepping closer causing me to lean back against the wall. He stood over me as he ruthlessly fucked my mouth. Tears welled up in my eyes as I took his length the best I could. Animalistic groans and moans left his parted lips I began to play with his balls. I felt his dick twitch in my mouth as I pushed it as far down my throat as possible. A loud groan left his lips as he came down my throat. I swallowed as he continued to move his hips. He pulled his wet dick out of my mouth as he released his grip on my hair. His hand slid down to my mouth as he wiped dripping saliva and cum from my bottom lip.
"You look like such a slut with my cum falling from your lips. Stand."
I did as told rising to my feet only to be turned to face the shower wall. Nic began to kiss on my shoulder and neck leaving bites and hickies in his wake. I moaned from the painful pleasures he granted me. He placed one hand around my neck as the other traveled to my clit. He began to rub in circular motions causing me to moan. His grip around my throat tightened as he pulled me back into him and kissed me. He slid his large fingers inside me mid-kiss causing me to release a loud moan. He took his opportunity and pulled my head back further. His large tongue entered my mouth as he kissed me roughly. He pulled my hips back while pushing my torso forward making me bend over and breaking the kiss. He removed his fingers making me miss his touch immediately.
His warm tongue came into contact with my clit as he began to eat me out from the back. I let out a loud moan as my legs buckled slightly. His thumbs spread my lips apart as he devoured my hot sex. His large tongue worked wonders as moans escaped from my mouth. Feeling myself coming closer to my release I began to try and grip the wall. My eyes began to flutter close as my eyes rolled back a little. Feeling my release so near I tried to find something to hold onto. I clawed at the wall in a deseparate attempt to stabilize myself but just before I was able to cum he removed his mouth. He gave my ass a rough slap causing it to sting in pleasure. He turned me back around to face him.
"I want to see the look in your face while you unravel in front of me. Show me you're my slut. My personal little prostitute."
   Nic POV
I gripped her thighs firmly before placing them over my shoulders. I placed my hands on her ass and lower back as I swiftly lifter her up. I pushed her hips forward as I nuzzled my face into her sweet wet center like a feral animal. I swirled my tongue on her clit as she kept eye contact with me. My eyes traveled back and fourth between her eyes and mouth as she moaned. Seeing her mouth move and not being able to hear her moan was such a tease. It's so tantalizing, sure I've got a pretty good idea of what she sounds like but I want to know for sure. I nuzzled my face deeper into her wetness as I continued to swirl suck and lick on her clit. Our eyes locked in a deep gaze as she began to grind her hips against my face.
"Right there" I saw her lips move. I sped up as I felt her clit swell against my tongue. Her body began to jerk as she grabbed fistfuls of my hair. I pulled her as close as possible, gripping her waist to keep her close as she came. I lapped up her sweet cream moaning from the beautiful sight unfolding above me. Her body shook as her eyes rolled back. Her beautiful hair framed her face as her beautiful breast bounced. I stopped cutting her orgasm short. I turned off the shower and carried her to our bedroom. I tossed her on the bed before walking over to my katana picking it up. I leaned it again the bed as I watched her pant trying to catch her breath. What a beautiful sight.
   YN POV
"I told you to keep your eyes on me and you didn't so now I'm gonna have to punish you."
He picked up his sword and unsheathed it. He held it to my throat causing my cheeks to go red. A chilling sensation ran through me as I felt myself getting wetter with every moment he held his blade to my neck. It was thrilling in the most arousing way possible. My clit began to throb causing me to squeeze my legs closed tightly leaning my head back and breaking eye contact. Shit.
Nic's rough calloused hand came into contact with my throat squeezing. My head snapped back to it's original position causing me to make eye contact once again. Leaning on my elbows I felt something cold and slightly ridged on my thighs pushing one leg away from the other. Nic stared daggers into my eyes. Never breaking eye contact, he spit. I felt the cool ridged object on my clit causing me to release a moan. He released a grunt before pointing to my eyes and down to my vagina. His hand returned to my throat as I looked down.
His large hand gripped the blade as he slowly pushed the handle of his Katana into me. I moaned as I saw blood begin to trickle down the sharp blade. The muscles in his hand tightening as his veins in his hand began to protrude. He started movement angling upward to hit my g spot. My legs jerked, one quickly coming into contact with his elbow and the other being gripped firmly by the hand previously around my throat. He pushed my leg down against the bed roughly and adjusted his grip on the blade. Grunts left his mouth as he facial expression twinged in the slightest way.
Before I was even able to notice his movement his hand was gripping my throat harder than before. A mix of emotions rushed over me as my body shivered. He started his movement again hitting my g spot like a target. Lewd sounds filled the room as I dripped down the handle of his katana. He left bites on my shoulders along with rough kisses. I kept my eyes on the thrilling object entering me not daring to look anywhere else. I bit down on his shoulder trying not to shake too much as my orgasm creeped up on me. Nic began to suck on my breast sending me over the edge. Every muscle in my body tensed as a hit rush flowed through me. I squirted on his weapon as his movement never stopped. I grinder my hips upward riding out my orgasm. He dropped the wet and bloody weapon to the fool.
Not missing a beat a mischievous grin painted his face. His hand left my neck as he began to stroke himself. He ran his bloody hand down my face before grabbing me by the jaw and squeezing to open my mouth. He opened his mouth allowing saliva to slowly drip from his tongue as his eased his way into me. I moaned from the pleasure as I impatiently awaited his dripping saliva. It dripped closer and closer to my open mouth as he thrusted into my roughly. The moment it touched my tongue nix pushed my hips down and thrusted upwards into me as he played with my clit.
"Ah—I..."
I trailed off not being able to finish my sentence as I clawed at his chest and shoulders. My eyes rolled back as he leaned down to bite and kiss on my ear. He quickened his pace on my clit as he returned to towering over me. The pleasure along with the powerful aura surrounding him sent me into a wonderful bliss as my orgasm washed over me again. My eyes rolled to the back of my head as animalistic sounds escaped both of our mouths. His hot seed filled my insides as every muscle in our bodies tensed. Nic continued to thrust riding out our orgasms.
"I love seeing you drip like this."
Bonus
He pulled out and went to the bathroom coming back with two rags. He used one for my face and the other to wipe the rest of my body. I struggled to catch my breath and keep my eyes open as I sat up. Nic returned from the bathroom again and met my gaze. I signed to him "let me see your hand." He walked over to me and I grabbed his hand looking at the large gash on his hand. It was larger than expected and beyond my skills. As I looked at the gash I took a moment to think back. He kept me still so I wouldn't hurt myself and didn't stop until I came. I smiled up at him softly and planted a kiss on his lips. "Let's get you to the doc." I wrapped his hand and we threw on clothes before heading out the door.
—time skip—
"You idiot, what the hell even happened?" The doc asked as he unwrapped the bandages and took a look at Nic's hand. Nic sat in silence as he usually does whenever the doc talks shit. The bandages I had put on him were gone showing the previously covered wounds. The doc looked over Nic's injuries before stopping and turning his head around slowly toward me. He glanced at me causing me to get a little nervous. I pulled up my turtle neck a little and readjusted my stance. It was like a light bulb went off above his head. He sighed and turned back to Nic looking at his injuries again.
"I don't even want to know." My gaze met Nic's as he gave me a small smirk. He's such a softie.

Vampire Love-Legacies-Sebastian x OC Reader: Chapter 7: "Since When Did Wizard101 Become Real?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: It's Halloween at the Salvatore School and everyone's running a muck from the festivities. The search continues for Landon and Kenzie and Sebastian take a deeper dive / look into what their relationship could lead to.
(A/N: This is not, I repeat NOT a remake or copy of the Legacies season 2 episode, "This Christmas Was Surprisingly Violent" 02x8. This chapter / story is inspired by that episode. I hope you all enjoy this read :) )
*
It's just another ordinary morning before classes start at the groovy Salvatore School. I somehow woke up again bright and early and stepped out of my bed and tiptoed to the bedroom door and peeked my head out of the door to see what I could see.
I was hoping to see Sebastian possibly roaming the hallway but that wasn't the case this time. I didn't see him anywhere.
I hope he's alright and hopefully meet up with him later. Since it's still early, I went back to sleep for a little bit more.
A few hours later, my other sisters, Lizzie and Josie woke up before I did and must have let me stay asleep until I woke up for a second because my bedroom was empty, which is okay but it would have been nice to be aware of what was happening.
Anyways, A few hours later again, I'm woken up by Hope. She stormed through the door of my room, startling me awake but not too much. She took a few steps towards my bed and stopped walking.
"Kenzie!" She exclaimed, making me wake up completely and I dragged my body weight up a little in my bed so I'm sitting up right in my bed, facing Hope.
"Hey Hope! What's going on?" I raised my eyebrow in a curious way. She walked toward my bed and then sat down on my bed and hugged me.
"Oh thank goodness, you're not affected by the Halloween spirit like everyone else in the school is. They all think it's Halloween. And it doesn't help that the school's holding a Halloween party later tonight." I widened my eyes after hearing what Hope told me.
I got out of my bed and looked out my bedroom window to the outside world and gasped.
"It's Halloween? That's wild! How did this happen?" I glanced over at Hope who shrugged her shoulders casually.
"I don't know. Probably another monster?" I turned my body away from the window and began to walk towards my dresser drawer.
"This is terrible! It's freaking summer! Not fall. I have no idea what I'm going to wear. Who am I going to dress up as? I need my costume to be extravagant looking" I rambled on while looking through my clothes.
Hope giggled softly to herself. "Obviously you should wear something to travel in. I'm going to ask you for a small favor. Can you hit the road in a little bit, Kenzie?"
I turned my head to look at her and smirked.
"Let me guess, you want me to go out and have a search party for Landon, right?" Hope nodded her head.
"Why did he leave town? I thought the monsters didn't want him anymore." I asked curiously.
"I'm not sure. I have no idea why this is still happening. I just want Landon to be safe." I nodded my head and then I got up from my dresser and carried some of my clothes and sat next to Hope on my bed again.
"Fine. I know just the locator spell and off to Neverland I go. This better not make me miss the Halloween party tonight. You know how much I love parties." I raised my eyebrows at Hope, which made her giggle to herself.
"Thank you, Kenzie. And I think you'll be back in time before the party ends." I was going to say more to Hope but I was cut off by my two twin sisters who came into the room.
"Boo! Did we scare you?" Josie playfully asked as she and Lizzie smiled brightly at Hope and I. The two were dressed in Halloween themed outfits.
Josie was wearing this dark red velvety long sleeved shirt that was cut off to show the upper part where the shoulders are, and a black sparkling mini skirt with black tights to match and top it off with a cute witch hat headband.
Lizzie was wearing an outfit that was a fancy red long sleeved mini dress with some black sparkling tights and a witch hat headband too.
I thought both of their outfits looked gorgeous and stunning. Really suited the Halloween spirit for sure.
My outfit that I wore and was probably going to wear at the Halloween party, which was this Little Red Riding Hood / Allison from Hocus Pocus inspired outfit.
A classic and classy red cape like jacket that had a hood attached to it. And underneath it, I decided to wear / put on a purple long sleeve shirt and a flowy plaid skirt, with tan skin toned tights and my favorite pair of combat boots. I really liked it.
"Wow! Great outfits you two! Really feeling the Halloween spirit I see" Hope exclaimed with a smile on her face, making both Liz and Jo smile even more brightly at Hope and I.
"Thank you, Hope! We really want to embrace the Halloween spirit by showing off our style." Josie said with excitement in her voice and Lizzie nodded her head in agreement and smiled more at us.
"Don't worry, we won't scare you two today." Josie nodded her head in agreement immediately  after Lizzie spoke.
"Especially like this" She then raised up her arm/ hand and snapped her fingers and immediately her eyes turned a dark black color and these dark black and red spider like lines appeared and covered the corners of and all around her face.
It was the black magic in her body still. I wasn't expecting to see her make that sudden switch. I widened my eyes and jumped back a little bit, as did Hope too.
"Oh my gosh, Jo! Are you O..." I began to ask Josie with concern in my voice but then she snapped her fingers again and all of a sudden, her black magic was gone.
It really was like magic and it kind of freaked me out.
Lizzie and Josie began to giggle more and they then pulled out some candy out of their bags that they had and showed them out to us.
"Would the two of you like some candy?" Man whatever trance that my two twin sisters are under seems really odd.
It's making everything that they're doing seem stranger than usual. They asked us with a smile that seemed a bit too big for them but Hope and I seemed to ignore it.
Hope leaned towards me from behind and whispered to me.
"You might want to leave now! Go! Run!" I nodded my head in agreement and got off my bed and quickly grabbed a piece of candy from my twin sisters and then proceeded to leave the room and start my search for Landon.
Hope smiled awkwardly and looked at Lizzie and Josie. "What kind of candy?" She asked.
With that being said, Hope somehow got my twin sisters to snap out of their weird Halloween trance and got them to help us (Her and I) to find Landon.
Hope explained everything to them and they agreed to help. However, Josie wanted to stay behind to get ready for the party with the others, which was okay.
That just left Hope and Lizzie. They got into a car and before they left, Hope did a locator spell to track where Landon was, which was the same locator spell that I had in mind too,and then the two began to drive off.
I was in my car by myself and waited for Hope to lead the way to Landon. She led the way and I followed. I hope this adventure is quick and that there will be no complications or obstacles along the way.
What's the worst that could happen? Hope texted me a few minutes after completing the locator spell.
Hope: Hey Kenzie! Found where Landon is. Wandering the forest nearby the school. Not sure what he's doing there. Follow me and Lizzie now! See you soon!
I read her text and nodded my head in agreement and told her that I would do everything that she asked me to.
I then put my phone in the cubby of the car and continued to follow behind Hope as the drive continued more. The drive to find Landon began.
*
Now,this might be my vampire senses kicking in but somehow I can feel Landon's energy and I can hear his thoughts.
He wants to relocate himself from the wildness of being a supernatural at the school. He wants a break from it, so taking a long walk in the woods to get his mind off things.
Hey, you do what you gotta do right? I don't blame Landon for his actions. I'd do the same thing if I was in his shoes.
The drive to find Landon continued for a little bit longer. It felt like I've been driving forever. Hope kept me updated on Landon's moves and how close we were to reaching him.
She told me that Lizzie and her were going to get more gas for the car that they were driving. I agreed to wait for them to fuel their car up as we pulled into a gas station near town.
When we got there, Hope and Lizzie got out of their car, Hope filled the car up with gas and Lizzie wanted to get some snacks for the road.
I wanted to get some snacks too and wanted to keep my sister and best friend company, so I followed her into the building. Lizzie and I picked out some snacks that we wanted and then bought them.
After we bought everything, we stepped outside of the building and began walking back to our cars.
"Ooh hey so you're Sebastian. Kenzie has said a lot about you. It's nice to finally meet you" My vampire hearing picked up that sentence from Hope.
I stopped dead in my tracks. I wasn't expecting to find Sebastian talking to Hope. How in the world did he find me?
Was he stalking me? Lizzie stopped with me and turned her head to look at me and figure out why I stopped walking.
It didn't take her long to figure out why. She gently rested her hand on my shoulder and whispered.
"Hey, Kenz are you okay?" She then looked up and saw who Hope was talking to and it was Sebastian. He was leaning against the car that Hope and Lizzie drove in, talking a little bit with Hope.
Hope had a smile on her face while listening to everything that Sebastian was talking about. I continued to stand still for a few minutes more.
Lizzie gently held my hand, kneeled down towards my height, and that took me out of my overwhelming state and whispered more.
"Everything's going to be okay. Do you think you'll be able to handle the mission with him here?"
Quick recap!
After that night when Sebastian and MG met again and told him his sneaky plan to turn me into the greatest and powerful heretic ever, I somehow found out about his plan and it caused me to get upset.
Yeah, it's cool and kind of sweet that he wants me to be turned into something with an unlimited amount of power, but a process of doing a spell like that takes a lot to complete and the side effects of doing that spell is mainly death and the possibility of losing one of your supernatural sides.
It wouldn't be cool or fun to die from a spell like that. I really hope that Sebastian understands that risk. If he loves me all this much, he wouldn't do something this extreme like this. Right?
After I found out everything that was planned, I immediately told my twin sisters. They were so surprised and didn't want Sebastian to go on with doing that, especially Lizzie.
She begged MG to get Sebastian to stop but it was too late. MG told Lizzie that Sebastian was ready to go with the plan and that he was too far away to contact.
Why do I find that so hard to believe? So here we are.
Unable to stop Sebastian from what he has planned. Snapping back into reality, staring back at him and Hope. I took a deep breath and then looked at Lizzie.
I nodded my head at her and smiled softly at her. She smiled at me and continued to hold my hand as I did too.
"Do you want to ride with Hope in her car the rest of the way? I want you to feel as safe as possible. I'd be happy to drive in your car if you want me to, Kenzie" Lizzie whispered / asked as she continued to smile at me.
I smiled back at her. I nodded my head in agreement.
"Yes, I think I'll be okay, Lizzie. You don't have to worry. You can continue going with Hope if you want. I can handle it all" I winked at her and she nodded her head and then we both stood up straight and began to walk towards Hope and Sebastian.
As soon as we got closer and closer to them, Sebastian and Hope turned their attention to Lizzie and I and Sebastian hopped off the car and smirked at me which caused me to start to feel the love emotions again.
Girl, relax! You're supposed to be mad at him, not falling more in love with him. After seeing him smirk at me, I smiled softly but that smile I had seemed to have blush all over it because I could feel my cheeks burning a little bit from blushing.
"Hello, Elizabeth! Hello, Mackenzie! Fancy seeing you here"
"Sebastian? What are you doing here? How did you find me?" I asked in an irritated but relaxed tone of voice. Sebastian continued to smirk and Hope smiled to herself. Lizzie still had a small surprised look on her face as she looked at me as I started to talk to Sebastian again.
"I wanted to see you again. I think I owe you an apology, Mackenzie." Sebastian softly explained as he hopped off the car and took a few steps in front of me.
Hearing what he said made me feel more relaxed. I think he's starting to realize everything that he did and what he wants to do is wrong. I look at him as I smile softly. I also take a few steps towards him too.
Leaving Lizzie and Hope right where they were at. "Oh Sebby. It's..."
"Kenzie! Sebastian! Why don't you two save the cute and sappy stuff for later. We have to get back on track and find Landon, remember?" Hope cut me off. I playfully rolled my eyes and shook my head and Sebastian chuckled to himself.
I looked forward at Hope and nodded my head and then looked back at Lizzie, who shrugged her shoulders and giggled.
I giggled too and she began to walk to the car that she and Hope were driving in and Hope proceeded to walk back to the drivers side of the car.
She stood in front of the car door and looked at Lizzie and I.
"Lizzie, you continue riding with me in this car. Kenzie, you continue following my lead in the other car. Sebastian's more than welcome to ride with you if that's okay with you of course." Lizzie and I agreed.
We nodded our heads in agreement and Lizzie got in the passenger seat. After I nodded my head at Hope, I glanced over at Sebastian and smirked at him as he slowly nodded his head as well.
"Why of course! I love a good adventure with a little challenge." I confidently spoke while still keeping my eye contact with Sebastian as he did the same with me. Hope quickly nodded her head and then opened her car door.
She briefly explained that I needed to follow her as we continued to search for Landon. I agreed and she proceeded to get into the driver's seat. Lizzie waved to me before I walked back to my car. I waved back to her and Hope as well and then walked to my car.
I could feel myself blush more and more each time I got closer to Sebastian. Him and I both got in my car and with that, we followed Hope and Lizzie on the continuous long car ride search for Landon.
Now Seb, no funny business! I'm watching you.
*
The car ride search lasted for what seemed to be a long time. It might have also felt like a long ride because my crush but current enemy is sitting right next to me in the car and being in a car with someone who you don't like isn't the definition of fun.
Okay, okay I know what you're thinking...
"Kenzie! How can you hate Sebastain? It's not like he's done anything wrong. He loves you" And you're right because I don't actually hate him and I don't want to seem like I do because I love him too and everything that we almost have with each other, if you get my meaning. But he knows what he wants to do to me, yeah it's cute and all but dangerous and that can't be trusted.
Silence was heard for a majority of the time of the car ride. That is until Sebastian decided to annoy me by making me talk first, which he wants me to do.
He kept doing little things in the car like playing with the window switches next to him for a few minutes and then he started touching and messing around with the radio switches, which don't really work because this car is really old.
I notice and see everything that he's doing and it makes me giggle softly to myself even though I shouldn't be giggling. I can feel him smirk at me each time I giggle.
I then gently hold his hand and gently remove his hand from the radio switches.
"Can you pretty please literally stop pushing my buttons?" I asked in an annoyed tone of voice.
"There we go! I finally got her to speak. I'm sorry but all of this modern machinery really fascinates me." Sebastian cutely explained but I immediately shook my head no, still trying to be in my annoyed state.
"That's cute and all but this car is older than dirt. It was a present that a family member gave Lizzie, Josie, and I for our sweet sixteen." Sebastian nodded his head and proceeded to talk more.
"Ooh that's nice. Do you think we'll be able to stop for food? I haven't had a proper meal at all yet." I smiled softly and then looked behind me for a brief moment and then back on the road.
"We have snacks here if you want any of them. Besides, I thought you old timey vampires like you only ate and fed on animals?" And also, you should have eaten before you found me."
"You know, you're a bright girl but yet somehow you still manage to confound me, Mackenzie. I should also point out that the daylight necklace you made me really seemed like you just wanted me around all the time and for us to spend time together within the liking of your school." Sebastian smirked at me again and looked at me as I continued to drive / keep my eyes on the road.
I smiled after hearing what he said. "Mmm, really? Let's just say that you're here because you're one of the least annoying people I know who I enjoy having company with." I glanced at him and then winked.
Sebastian chuckled to himself and smiled.
"Well, we both know that's partially true." I raised my eyebrow and saw that Sebastian was looking at me and shifted his position in his seat for a second.
"I'm here because you fancy me. It's clearly obvious." I widened my eyes and became speechless.
I didn't know what to do but slammed the car breaks and stopped driving. Slamming on the breaks, made Sebastian and I lean forward, Sebastian more than me.
When the car stopped, Sebastian slowly leaned back in his seat and ran his hand through his hair. "What on earth was that for, Mackenzie?"
I sat back in my seat and looked back at him with surprise. "I'm sorry. I saw some deer back there. If you're still hungry, I suggest you go feed on one of them instead of stating surprising assumptions like that again"
Sebastian smiled at me again and chuckled. "I apologize about that. It won't happen again. Please, let's continue the search for your friend."
I slowly nodded my head in agreement to what he said and we continued to drive more again.
"That's okay. You're starting to pass these tests and starting to get on my good side again." I winked at him and put my eyes back on the road again. Sebastian smiled once more and the ride carried on from there.

Meanwhile, back at school, the students were still getting ready to prepare for the party in a couple of hours. Josie again took charge and helped everyone get ready.
After hours of putting the party room together, the Salvatore School was officially decked out with Halloween themed decorations and that gave everyone free time to scatter and do whatever they wanted before the party started.
Josie was walking through the quiet library area in the school by herself. Everything was fine only until Josie heard a rustling and tapping noise coming from straight ahead in the library.
At first she thought it was some students playing a prank on her. She giggled to herself and shook her head in a playful way, walking towards where the noise was coming from.
"Okay guys, very funny! But the party's going to be in Salvatore Hall. Save the pranks and games for the party" By the time Josie got to where she thought the students were, she stopped in her tracks and widened her eyes as she slowly looked up at the tall, dark, Halloween themed monster.
It has a pumpkin as a head and its body is made of sticks, branches, and trees all combined in one.
On its shoulder, it has a crow that seemed to be like its pet or something.
This pumpkin Halloween monster was standing a few feet in front of her. Josie slowly backed away from the monster and ran back to her room and locked the door.
When Josie made it safely to her room, she immediately called Hope and told her everything that was happening.
Josie calmly explained to Hope on the phone about the pumpkin monster that she saw roaming the school and that she thinks that it's here to cause mischief in the school.
Hence why it's Halloween right now when it shouldn't be. Hope couldn't believe what she was hearing but remained calm.
She told Josie to stay where she's at and wait for her and Lizzie to come back to the school to help her and everyone take care of the monster.
Josie agreed and then ended the call with Hope and then Hope explained everything that was happening to Lizzie which caused her to be surprised, especially about Josie.
They might seem like they don't get along or love each other but they do. Trust me. I know because I'm their little sister and that's how siblings act with each other at times.
I'd say that it's pretty normal.
Lizzie cares about Josie and I equally and I do too. I love them both so much and would take a bullet for them no matter what.
"Whatever we do, we must be back in time to save Josie. I don't want anything to happen to her or Kenzie. Please tell me that's what we're going to do, Hope." Lizzie said seriously and Hope nodded her head yes.
"Don't worry, Lizzie. Your sisters are going to be okay. We are turning this car around and heading back to the school to save everyone. Sorry, Landon. I love you but fighting off this monster is most important right now. The Landon search party is on pause. We have a school to save." Hope confiendelty said and with that, she did a U turn and drove the car as fast as she could back to the Salvatore school.
They arrived back at the school and quickly got out of the car and ran into the school and went to the Halloween party room and surprisingly the party had already begun.
Guests were slowly packing in. Some in halloween costumes, so just in regular outfits.
People all around were chit chatting and having a good time with each other, that is until Hope and Lizzie came running through.
"I need everyone's attention. The school might be in danger. A Harvest Lord was spotted in the main library a while ago. We need to evacuate until we kill it. Now everyone, please follow Lizzie where she'll lead you to a shelter." Hope exclaimed.
Causing everyone to stop what they were doing and look at her. They thought she had too much candy and that it was a prank for the Halloween party.
Quick note!
Kenzie here from the future! Josie made a great escape out of her room without the Harvest Lord could notice and ran and blended with the halloween party students / guests. She's perfectly safe and that's how she got here.
Wanted to clear you guys up to date with that.
Rolling on with the story and Hope. No one moved and just proceeded with the party. Hope turned her head to face Lizzie and they both rolled their eyes in annoyance from everyone and then turned back to face everyone.
Hope did a spell to herself and suddenly a loud popping exploding sound was heard coming from one side of the halloween party room and that caused people to freak out and scream a little. Not expecting that to happen.
Everyone was surprised and their attention was on Hope.
"Now that I have your attention. I want you all to know that Halloween is a made-up holiday. It was invented by a candy company. You're all acting like a bunch of children who need to grow up."
Silence was heard for a moment until my dad, Alaric stepped through the party scene and agreed to what Hope said. Kaleb, Josie, Dorian, and my dad stood next to each other as did the other guests and students who were at the party waited for instructions on what to do next.
"Hope's right. We need to be serious and buckle down. Saving and protecting this school is just what we're going to do. Josie, Kaleb. I need you two to come with me and everyone else to stay right where you are here. And someone hand me my famous crossbow." Everyone agreed to what my dad said and someone handed my dad his crossbow.
The battle was soon to begin.
Little did we know, or anyone in the school knew that Clarke somehow found a way to sneak in the school without anyone seeing. He was in the library where the Harvest Lord was earlier.
Clarke walked and stood in front of a fireplace that was in the library and then proceeded to take his coat off and tossed it into the fire and within moments, that made this black smoke appear all over the room and then Clarke took a few steps back as he watched the Harvest Lord take its form as the monster grew taller and taller.
The Harvest Lord reappeared. Clarke chuckled and nodded his head as he walked towards the pumpkin monster.
"Happy Halloween, pumpkin king. Now go and destroy the Salvatore school." He spoke with a devilish grin on his face.
The pumpkin monster agreed and slowly began to move to where the party guests were for the party. He proceeded to walk out of the room and then stopped for a moment and looked back at Clarke. Clarke raised an eyebrow and asked what he was doing.
Without warning, the pumpkin king had ordered his pet crow to fly and attacked Clarke, he grunted and begged the monster to stop and have his pet crow get off him.
Nothing.
The attack continued to go on for a few seconds later until the library door swung open and in walked Hope.
She widened her eyes a little and continued to walk more into the library.
"You must be the Harvest Lord. Mittent." Hope spelled the pumpkin monster that made it fly backwards into the air, hitting a wall and falling to the ground, leaving the monster stunned but only for a few seconds.
"I'm Hope and I find this Halloween season spookier than it usually is." Hope explained to the pumpkin monster as she proceeded to walk towards it but Clarke stopped her.
The Harvest Lord, of course, got back on his feet real quick. Typical evil monster battle move. It looked like Hope and Clarke were on the same side.
They both stood confidently in a battle stance getting ready to defeat the Harvest Lord but then all of a sudden, the pumpkin creature was slowly but quickly on the move. He disappeared out of the library and into the school's hallway, leaving Hope and Clarke worried about what was going to happen next.
Hope threw her hands in the air. "Crap! This monster is fast! I need to stop him before he causes more destruction."
Hope quickly exclaimed before quickly walking out of the room only until being stopped by Clarke.
"Wait! Why don't we put our differences aside for now and I can help you take down the Harvest Lord. I had no idea that the monster was going to turn its back on me. This isn't the first time a monster from Malivore has done that to me and I'm sure it won't be the last. I think we can be a good team."
Hope looked at Clarke and didn't really trust what he was saying but there wasn't much time. She nodded her head in agreement. "Alright. Come on, let's give that a try." She quickly stated and quickly walked out of the room as Clarke followed her from behind.
*
Jumping back to where Landon is. He found himself in an old but still sturdy abandoned cabin in the woods and actually managed to get himself comfortable and settled there for the entire rest of the day.
He spent the majority of the time just writing about everything that was happening to him recently in his life, and how he wishes it was different for him.
But by spending time alone with himself, he has started to gradually accept the truth of what he is and is okay with it all.
Time is going by so fast because it's getting darker outside now and the Halloween party seemed to be on pause due to the battle but would soon be getting started again.
Landon was ready to come back to the school and just be him and live his life with Hope. He closed his notebook, packed up his belongings and prepared to walk out of the cabin and head back to the school.
Finally, the long car ride came to a conclusion as I pulled into the mini driveway where the cabin was a few feet away.
My car headlights were shining bright as a dark shadow blocked the light. The shadow came closer and closer to my car and it was revealed to be Landon. I parked the car and rolled down the driver's seat window and peeked my head out of the window, letting Landon see me, which he was surprised to see me.
"Landon! Wow! What a coincidence! I'm so glad I found you. Come on! Hop in! There's not much time to explain what's going on" I called out to him as he walked and stopped when he finally reached the car door's window.
"Kenzie? What are you doing here?"
"Keep talking and I'll show you a much darker world than Neverland myself." I confidently spoke as Landon widened his eyes after hearing what I said.
The good old scaring tactics never fail tee hee. That's my speciality at its finest :)
Oh yeah! Remember Sebastian?
Well, he was with me in the car for the rest of the car ride with me, until the very last minute because as I was pulling into the cabin area where Landon was, all that Sebastian said was...
"I'll be right back, Mackenzie. See you soon" I widened my eyes a little bit and waved my hand out to get him to stop and stay with me and then poof!
He was gone! "Wait! Sebby!" I shouted but it was too late because he was gone before he could hear me. I was afraid he was ditching me or something. I wanted him back!
So, unfortunately it's just me in the car by myself now.

Back at the school, the party room was dark and no one was in sight. The black smoke appeared again in the party room and low and behold, the Harvest Lord was back.
Lurking around the room. He thought he was the only one in the room but he was mistaken. The party guests / students, including my sisters Josie and Lizzie and Kaleb hid behind the walls of the party room and were getting ready to attack the Harvest Lord.
Josie did a spell that made the lights turn on / the decorations and everything else that was off, which made the Harvest Lord stop walking and pay attention to its surroundings and before it knew it, he was surrounded by everyone in the room and was trapped by Kaleb who used Halloween lights as a trap and tied them around him, making him unable to move.
The Harvest Lord made a screeching sound and then my dad used his crossbow and shot the pumpkin monster straight in its heart.
Or so they thought. Dorian smiled and then pointed straight ahead at the creature as it fell down to the ground.
"You did it! The arrow right through its heart. That's how you kill the Harvest Lord." Everyone cheered, except for Hope and Lizzie as they both stepped through the crowd of people in the party room.
They knew the monster wasn't dead. "This looks like a time to celebrate! Who wants candy?" My dad Alaric said to everyone around him as Dorian laughed and then began to pass out candy to everyone who wanted some.
Hope and Lizzie were both confused as they looked at each other as the Halloween party festivities continued. They knew that the Harvest Lord wasn't dead. They had to put an end to this.
"Why are you still in the Halloween spirit? If the monster's dead, then why hasn't the Halloween party ended?" Hope questioned as Lizzie nodded her head.
My dad heard what Hope asked and began to realize that she was right. He handed Dorian the candy that he had in his hands.
Everyone began to notice as well and then a rustling noise was heard from right where the pumpkin king was laying on the ground in the party room. Everyone watched where the noise was coming from and then all of a sudden a wizard was wearing a pointed red and yellow wizarding hat and his clothing was this red and yellow and orange long robe that went down to his knees.
In his hand, he was holding his wizarding wand. Pretty cool if you ask me, even though I wasn't present hahaha.
"Hi! I'm Simon. A fire school wizard that can use my power to take down any enemy using my fire powers. I can help you guys take down the Harvest Lord. Especially, on the scariest but fun-est time of the year, which is Halloween." Simon introduced and everyone agreed and wanted his help. Hope was down to having Simon's help. Everyone was really interested in Simon.
"Since when did Wizard101 become real?" Kaleb whispered to Josie. She giggled and shrugged her shoulders because she had no idea how to respond to that. All of a sudden, a screeching noise was heard which made everyone gasp. The Harvest Lord stood up and stood behind Simon.
"Simon! Behind you!" Hope shouted which made Simon turn around to face the pumpkin creature. "Because of you! This Halloween is much scarier than it needs to be." Just then, the Harvest Lord raised his arms up and was able to snap and break the halloween light decoration trap that was tied around him. Everyone got in their battle stances.
The Harvest Lord pulled the arrow that my dad shot at him out of his chest and threw it on the ground.
"Dang it! I thought I killed that monster already?" My dad asked out loud. The good wizard shot his arm up behind him, silencing my dad to not talk anymore.
"Don't blame yourself for missing, Dr. Saltzman. The Harvest Lord has a very small heart. This is my fight. I can take him." Simon stood a few feet in front of the pumpkin creature and bent his arms up a little as well as his legs in a battle stance too and held out his wizarding wand out in front of him.
Showing the monster that he was ready to fight.
"I didn't see this coming. Looks like this battle's personal you guys." My dad said as everyone, including Kaleb, Dorian, Lizzie, Josie, and Hope nodded their heads and continued to watch the confrontation between Simon and the Harvest Lord.
"Be prepared to meet your doom. Again Harvest Lord. Happy Halloween!" Simon said to the Harvest Lord and then used his wand to hit / punch the pumpkin creature in the face, causing him to fall to the ground again.

Back to me, I was still trying to convince Landon to come back with me and go back to Hope and the way things were.
"I don't understand why you left Hope and us behind without telling any of us."
"I needed an escape from the monsters. I also needed a place to feel safe, even if it was for a few minutes." Landon admitted and that made me nod my head. I crossed my arms and continued to look at him.
"Interesting. What's your plan now, Peter Pan?. Continue to run away and never return?"
"My only plan is to make sure that I'm not in the way of the others and protect them to stay safe at the school. I'm scared, as much as I hate to admit that but I am. But I am slowly feeling ready to face them and to not be afraid of them anymore." Landon softly spoke as I continued to listen to him.
There was silence for a few seconds, until I decided to speak.
"Come back to the School with me. There, you'll be with Hope and she can help you figure out what to do next. You'll be the safest with her. We all will help you. What do you say?"
There was silence for about another second and it looked like Landon was going to say something but then a loud snapping noise was heard coming from behind Landon, which made him grunt a little and then fell to the ground. It was revealed to be Sebastian who snapped Landon's neck.
Almost killing him. He wasn't dead, just unstable. I gasped and widened my eyes after seeing everything that happened right in front of me.
Once Landon fell, Sebastian looked at me as I did at him. "What on earth do you think you're doing?" I strongly asked Sebastian.
"I say you two talk entirely way too much when action is required. Forget about Landon and let's go back to the Halloween party. I know it'll be much more fun than here. What do you say, Mackenzie? Hmm?" Sebastian softly spoke and then raised his eyebrow at me after asking his question. I puckered my lips in an annoying way as I continued to look at Sebastian.
I then tilted my head.
"Alright. But we can't just ditch Landon. We have to take him back. At least help me get him in the car, Seb." Sebastian smiled softly and nodded his head in agreement and he began to walk towards Landon's body and me a little bit and bent down to pick up Landon's body and we both carried him and put him in the trunk of the car.
Don't worry, he's a Phoenix and can breathe anywhere.
After that, I stepped back and continued to look at Sebastian more. "Also, do you care to explain where the heck you went earlier?" I asked curiously as I crossed my arms.
*
Jumping back to the school, the Harvest Lord and Simon continued their battle against each other for the remainder of the time as everyone, including my dad, Dorian, Lizzie, Josie, Kaleb, and Hope watched.
Telling Simon to be careful when he had his back turned to the Harvest Lord. The two used spell cards from their game Wizard101 at each other but as time went on, the Harvest Lord seemed to be winning.
One powerful spell that the pumpkin monster did and caused the good wizard to get knocked down and was down for a few minutes. The Harvest Lord took a few steps towards Simon and stopped and glanced up as he heard Hope shout to Simon.
"Simon! Use this!" Hope tossed a fire elf spell to Simon and he caught it and immediately used it on the Harvest Lord.
A jumping fire elf appeared and spun circles around the pumpkin creature at a really fast speed and fire surrounded the pumpkin monster.
The Harvest Lord was defeated, the fire elf spell worked. After the spell was used, Simon ran up to the pumpkin monster and using his magic wand, he sliced open his chest and pulled out his heart and then showed everyone which made them all cheer.
"See? Very small heart no doubt about that." Simon said as he chuckled to everyone. My dad, Dorian, Kaleb, and Lizzie all clapped their hands and Josie and Hope stood there in happy shock but disgust because they didn't like the guts and stuff from the Harvest Lord.
All in all, everyone was happy.

Going back to the wonderful time Sebastian and I were having haha. I decided to lay down on top of the hood of the car, as Sebastian was getting out of tools to fix a car from the back part/ seat of the car, and kneeled down in front of the tire right below where I was and started to try and mend the car.
Even though the car was perfectly fine. I looked down at him and raised my eyebrow.
"What are you doing? Are you trying to impress me by looking like you can mend my car when it doesn't need fixing?"
Sebastian looked up at me and chuckled. "Ooh well then I guess that settles that. You've always wanted me to impress you"
"Mmm, yeah I'd say that's partially true. More like the other way around. I've been trying to impress you." I confidently spoke which made Sebastian smirk and I can even see a tint of blush covering his face a little.
Seeing that made me blush a lot but I managed to keep my cool.
"Well, I guessed it when I was riding in the car with you,and it seemed like that plan of yours has and is working. You definitely have been impressing me." Sebastian smiled and then continued to mess around with the tools for the car.
I also smiled after hearing what he said and then rotated my body, laying on my stomach while still being on the car, facing Sebastian.
As this was happening, Sebastian stood up and touched the top of his shirt and grabbed it and pulled it off of him.
Seeing him take his shirt off was the most surprising thing that I've ever seen him do since I've met him. I wasn't expecting him to do that but I liked where it was going.
All I ask is that he keep his pants on. Hear me out! It's dark, cold, and we're outside. No one needs to see that outside, we'll only and maybe me but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Anyway, back to the story! Focus Kenzie!
Seeing Sebastian with his shirt off made my heart beat super fast and the blush appeared once again on my face. I could tell that he noticed, after all he can hear my heartbeat and I could hear his, we're both vampire's. It's what we do :)
"What are you doing with your shirt off? You should probably put it back on."
"Now why would I do that when we both know that you like what you're seeing?" Sebastian smirked at me once again. Hearing what he asked made me blush even more. I was tongue tied and speechless.
I couldn't believe what he asked me.
I completely ignored his question and tried to switch the subject. "Do you think you'll be able to handle being a student at the school? And you should probably lay off of calling my friends vegetable nicknames."
Sebastian raised his eyebrow and then pointed his hand while holding a car tool. Putting it back into the floor part in the car.
"Oh you mean turnips! Which they are" I rolled my eyes in a playful way after hearing what he said and then sat up straight on the hood of the car and looked over at Sebastian, who was standing in front of the car.
He looked at me and stood behind the car while still looking at me.
"Well, whatever vegetable that you think they are, they probably won't like you if you continue with that. No one will." I looked at him with an annoyed look on my face as he chuckled softly which made my ears melt from cuteness every time I heard him giggle.
"Everyone except for you, Mackenzie. You fancy me. It's become clearly obvious that you do" Sebastian tilted his head and raised his eyebrow again.
I shook my head in disagreement, even though he was right. I wanted to continue my mean ego for a little bit longer.
"For the last time, I don't fancy you. How could I fancy someone all this time who made me think that I was crazy?"I admittedly asked him and kind of regretted that because I realized how mean that was and I didn't want him to hate me.
But surprisingly enough and thank goodness, he was okay and didn't seem to be bothered by what I said. He puckered his lips, looking like he was in deep thinking mode.
"Well perhaps we both are. There's nothing wrong with that. We could be a crazy good couple, Mackenzie. For one thing, I fancy you." He looked at me and I was surprised to hear him say that he fancies me.
The love effects were getting stronger each time but I had to keep my cool still. There was a silence again as we both looked at each other more. I looked at the ground for a moment and then back at him.
"Did those lines work back in your decade?" I asked curiously as I saw Sebastian was quick to respond by nodding his head in agreement after hearing what I asked.
"Yes they did. As did my abdominal and bicep muscles, but that's not important. What is important is that everything that I'm doing is working now"
Not going to lie, I found everything that Sebastian just said to be extremely cute. Man, this guy is a major flirt and I'm loving every moment of it.
To be even more of a prankster, I decided to tease him and see what he was going to do. I shook my head in disagreement.
"No it isn't" I smirked. Sebastian was even more quick to respond. His voice was relaxed as he spoke.
"Mmm,'tis" I raised my eyebrow at him and continued going on more.
"Oh my gosh! 'Tis not!"
"Tis" Sebastian giggled. He could sense that I was getting aggravated when I really wasn't and kept it going for a few seconds longer.
Each time I responded, I sounded annoyed but that was the point.
"Tis not, for the one final time" There was a pause. Sebastian widened his eyes a little and turned away from me and I thought that was the end but oh no, I was wrong.
Sebastian looked up at the sky and whispered,
"Tis" thinking that I didn't hear him but I did. I giggled from annoyance and hopped off the car and faced Sebastian. I took a step towards him.
"You're such a goofball. Come on, put your shirt back on" Sebastian smirked romantically at me which made me die from cuteness and the love effects.
He didn't say anything. I playfully rolled my eyes and walked even closer to him, grabbing his hand and walking forward to start to get into the car.
Sebastian gently stopped me and spun me around and when my back was facing the car and my front facing him, Sebastian gently pinned me to the car and leaned towards my neck and laid a kiss. Which turned to him leaving a trail of soft kisses on my neck.
I wasn't expecting him to start doing that but I loved it and didn't want him to stop. I gently placed my hands on top of his arms and trailed my thumbs up and down the space on his skin on his arms a little bit.
Sebastian pulled away from my neck a bit and whispered near my ear.
"Is this okay, Mackenzie?" I blushed while smiling brightly at him. I nodded my head in agreement and whispered back to him.
"Yes. You can go the distance as much as you want too. I'm ready, Sebby." I could feel Sebastian's smile on my neck and nodded his head in agreement again.
With that, his lips touched mine and we softly and passionately kissed each other which made my heart flutter, faster than a butterfly flapping its wings.
As the kiss continued, Sebastian gently rested his hand on my cheek and I also touched his face with my hands gently too. We deepened the kiss which I head over heels for. I didn't want this to end.
Sebastian then pulled away from the kiss first and gently pulled me off the car and slid his hands on the sides of my hips and whispered,
"Jump up" I nodded my head and jumped up and wrapped my legs around his waist as he lifted me up in the air and a whooshing sound was heard and that was because Sebastian used his vamp speed to make me more comfortable during our spicy, romantical moment.
He moved us to the center front of the car and laid me back facing the car again and hovered over me as we giggled at each other. I ran my hand through his hair as we continued to kiss each other passionately some more.
Also, as we were kissing, Sebastian lifted me back up for a moment and helped me take off my jacket, which I allowed him to do and soon his grip / hold on me was back.
Speaking of, Sebastian's hold on me was strong and it made me feel safe. I trailed my hands across his back and gently rubbed his back up and down slowly a few times, which I knew that he was enjoying as was I with him too.
I would continue telling you more about this moment between him and I, but it's too good to share. There's more action going on at the Halloween party, go there! I'll catch up with you later. (A/N: I can't write smut so what I have and what you just read is as close to that. I hope it's still good)
*
The Halloween party is in full swing and everyone is having a wonderful time. Hope met back up with Clarke and the two talked about things.
They both told each other that they don't actually hate one another and that they should continue to move forward on good terms.
"The fog that covered the atmosphere everywhere earlier and the smell of fall fire wood seems to be gone. I'm guessing the Harvest Lord is dead" Clarke pointed out as Hope nodded her head.
"That's right. Simon came in and saved the day by killing the pumpkin monster." Clarke nodded his head and looked down at the ground.
"Before I leave, I just want to say that I don't hate you and that I wish we can remain on good terms for as long as possible."
"I think we can agree on that. And I don't hate you either. You know, nothing's too small if you believe in it." Hope smiled softly and Clarke nodded his head again and looked up at Hope once more.
"Happy Halloween, Hope."
"Happy Halloween, Clarke!" And with that, the two waved to each other and went their separate ways. Hope went back to the Halloween party and joined back up with my two twin sisters.
*
As for me, I just finished a very steamy and romantic love session with my hopefully soon to be vampire boyfriend, Sebastian. We're both in the car, I'm sitting in his lap as he's comforting me.
"I am glad that you finally accepted the truth. You fancy me very much indeed" Sebastian softly spoke to me as I smiled and blushed.
I nodded my head.
"Actually, I've fancied you from the first day that we met. Back at the Old Mill." I winked at him and he smirked at me which made me blush even more.
"How much / how badly do you want me to stay at the school? Have our hookups already given you an answer?"Sebastian softly asked me as curiosity beamed through his eyes while looking into mine.
"Besides hooking up with you, you make me feel safe. Even more safe than how I feel when I'm with my family. I want your protection and love and kindness with me 24/7. Being with you is why I want you to stay at the school." I replied to him as he smiled down at me again.
"Ah, you're too kind.I feel the same way too. I should mention that I have nowhere else that I would and could go where I feel welcomed. The Salvatore School is the kindest place that I have ever been and stepped foot in." Sebastian softly spoke in a soothing voice.
Hearing everything that Sebastian was filling my heart up with a lot of emotions. Good ones mainly. His story, the way he talked, his amazing accent, what he's been through has and was winning my heart all over again.
Hearing his story caused me to tear up because I found myself wiping away a tear from my face. I guess you could say that I was falling madly in love with this guy all over again.
"I can't imagine my life without you, Mackenzie. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. That's why I want to stay here. Mackenzie Saltzman, will you have me? Will you be my girlfriend?" Sebastian softly asked.
I couldn't stop blushing and as soon as I heard the question that he asked, I shifted my body off of him and sat up a little bit while still sitting in his lap.
I gasped softly and covered my mouth with my hand for a second. I could see Sebastian smile which made me smile too.
I uncovered my mouth and squealed softly while nodding my head quickly.
"Oh my gosh! Yes! A thousand percent yes! I'll be your girlfriend, Sebastian!" I hugged him as I teared up from happiness.
Sebastian hugged me back and giggled while gently rubbing my arm. Hashtag Senzie tee hee!
I cuddled up next to him and looked up at him and he looked down at me and we shared another kiss, which I know we both enjoyed. I hummed softly and wished this moment could last forever.
I pulled away and smiled more and continued to blush. I gently booped his nose which made him giggle.
"Come on, Sebby. Let's head back to the Halloween party." I whispered to him and he nodded his head.
*
We got ready and drove back to the school. When we arrived back at the school, Sebastian and I got out of the car and opened the trunk of the car and took Landon out and immediately he was revived.
When he came back to life, I explained to him everything that happened and he then went to go catch up with Hope inside.
When the two were reunited with each other, they stepped outside to the school's parking lot, right outside the party and told each other cheesy but cute things to each other and found a way to continue their romantic relationship.
I was really happy for them. This Halloween was filled with a lot of romance, surprisingly but it was cute.
I told Sebastian to wait for me at the party as I needed to get a few things to add to my Little Red Riding Hood costume. I wanted to change into a pair of shoes that matched the costume and I did just that.
After that, I went back to the party and caught back up with Sebastian. The two of us enjoyed the Halloween party atmosphere.
Lizzie found Sebastian and I and it seemed like she was very excited about something. She grabbed my arm a little bit, getting my attention.
"Hey, Sis! Boy do I have big news to tell you!" I raised my eyebrow and giggled, so did Sebastian.
"Hey, Liz! Ooh what's up?"
"I think I might have scored a big one. There's this guy and I think he and I might make it official." Lizzie squealed. I widened my eyes and gasped after hearing what my best friend said to me. Sebastian also was surprised too.
"Oh my goodness! Are you for real, sis? Do you even know his name?" Lizzie smiled brightly and nodded her head.
"Yes. His name is Blair. And I think he's a werewolf but also might be a vampire, he hasn't specified."
"That is very interesting. You can't just date someone who you just met. I hope you know what you're doing. I'm sorry, that's just my younger sister protective senses coming out." I calmly told my best friend and she thank goodness understood what I was saying.
She nodded her head and smiled more at me. "You're the sweetest! Don't worry, everything is going to be okay." Lizzie hugged me again and then seemed to be distracted by something or someone who caught her eye at the party.
"Ooh la la! I'm sorry, sis! I gotta go. Enjoy the party. Bye Sebastian haha" My best friend winked at Sebastian and then waved to me.
Sebastian and I giggled and waved back to her and she squealed while practically skipping over to where she wanted to be at.
As Sebastian and I are enjoying the party, it was heard that MG was on a date with Kym, Kaleb's younger sister for the whole day and part of the evening too.
Hearing that was very unexpected but cute at the same time. Kaleb made the announcement to everyone in a quiet and respectable manner to everyone in our squad.
It was hard to know how Kaleb felt about the whole MG dating his sister situation but he kept it cool, even if it was bothering him.
Anyway, the Halloween party was a groovy success and an absolute blast. People eating candy and drinking fruit punch at the snack table along with the other snacks there too.
People were also dancing and chit chatting with each other, a typical party setting.
Sebastian and I kept sharing kisses here and there which always made me blush and made my heart flutter a million times a minute.
I also got word that the request we made to enroll Sebastian as a full time student at the school, had successfully gone through.
Sebastian is now a full time student and I am just head over heels about that.
"I can't believe that you're a full time student now! I have a feeling that you're going to love it here." I looked up and smiled brightly at Sebastian and winked. He nodded and smiled back at me.
"I already do." Sebastian softly spoke, which made me continue to smile and giggle.
"Because of you, Mackenzie." Sebastian continued and whispered more directly in my ear, sending a shiver down my spine and made my face beet red.
I giggled even more and playfully rolled my eyes and wrapped my arms around his shoulders and hugged him, which he returned as we both continued to giggle more and enjoyed the party as it was slowly winding down.
*
People left the party here and there, but others remained to stay until the very minute of the party, like Sebastian and I and everyone else in the squad.
Sebastian and I were in the corner of the party, talking about random stuff and then Lizzie and Josie came over to us and talked to us too.
There was a door that I was standing next to and people could walk right in and or out of.
I was just talking to Sebastian more and then all of a sudden, I kept hearing people behind me gasping.
I saw Sebastian look up at all the commotion and raised his eyebrow. I also raised my eyebrow too and then turned around a little bit and saw that the Necromancer had made an appearance.
More like an unwelcome appearance. I had never heard of or came into contact with a villain such as him and boy does he look scary. He had this evil smile on his face as he examined the room.
He then noticed me and took a little bit of a liking towards me.
So not good!
I felt a light tap on my shoulder and low and behold, it was the Necromancer.
"Mmm, my my. What do we have here? Hello my dear, I've never seen you around here before" I moved away from him a little bit which made Sebastian raise his eyebrow again, mainly from concern about me.
I tried to relax in his comfort and hoped that the Necromancer would leave me alone but boy was I wrong.
The Necromancer stood directly in front of me and smirked more at me and knew that Sebastian was there but didn't do anything.
"Oh, don't worry, you poor girl. I won't hurt you." He said in a calm but evil sounding tone of voice.
I decided to be brave and turn my attention towards him, just so he could leave me alone.
I moved my head to face him as I continued to hold onto Sebastian more. Sebastian didn't like where this was going either.
He continued to hold onto me, his hold/ grip getting tighter but was gentle at the same time. The Necromancer raised his head up and then put it down, same level as me and smirked even more at me.
"My dear... tell me. What can you tell me about Hope Mikaelson and Landon Kirby?" The Necromancer calmly asked and I widened my eyes a little and shook my head no a little bit while gripping on Sebastian more and more.
I wonder what's going to happen next. Will the Necromancer get me to talk? Is Hope and Landon in danger?
Also, how will everyone react to Lizzie's new lover? Will we get to meet him? All this and more will be revealed in the next episode. I hope you're all ready for this:) :)
-End of story / episode 7
This story episode was one of my favorite one's to write. I had a blast writing it and I hope you all enjoyed it. Yes, I did have this be themed with the popular computer game, Wizard 101 because I thought it was fitting and would also be very interesting to use in a story like this and I think I did a good job. Stay tuned for future chapters and I'll see you in the next one :)

Skyrim (and Oblivion) Asks
@sheirukitriesfandom, my beautiful strudel without raisins, tagged me so I can slightly lift a shroud of mystery over my OC, Teldrys, the one and only. Thanks a lot for the tag, I'm happy someone asked me about him (finally!)
Also, I made a couple of sketches specifically for this questionnaire.
TWs: PTSD mention, flashbacks mention, nightmares mention, overall description of a morally (and mentally) fucked up character.
1. Favourite Tavern
None, at least he has never mentioned one in particular. In the eyes of Teldrys, tavern is a place of business - just like any other place. Back in the days when he was just a young man, he enjoyed quite a lot rare Family gatherings at the dinner table in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. And that was even before some Family members started to be displeased with him, because of Teldrys' tendency to work himself to death which, at the same time, wasn't a bad thing, but quickly provoked jokes, gossip and, finally, jealousy and coldness.
However, he's leaning towards pubs and taverns which are located in the working districts and lower class areas, the ones that dimly lit, with lots of shady people inside - it's easy to get lost in a crowd. In any way, Teldrys prefers to drink alone.
Tumblr media
2. Favourite Drink
Cyrodilic brandy, Surilie Brothers wine. When it comes to a drink, he's an Imperial guy through and through.
3. Travel Companion
Teldrys travels completely alone with an exception of a horse (an ideal discussant)\Shadowmere. Much later, he's travelling with a certain ghost, who can slap him in the face if Teldrys lost himself during PTSD flashback.
4. Wealthy or not?
He's got some savings, but he is not rich. A lot of gold goes on bribes, cheap one-night taverns, meals, materials for fixing up equipment, rare alchemical ingredients, cereal grains for his horse. And books. Many books. If Teldrys cannot buy one, he'll steal it easily.
5. Worships the Aedra or the Daedra?
Neither the former nor the latter.
For Teldrys the Aedra and the Daedra are nothing more than a misunderstood concepts of inevitably good and inevitably evil, a rebellious thoughts that distorted the original order of things created by their Creator, which has led to various imperfections. The act of taking life is not a deed of pleasure or money, it is a sacrament to him. That's the dividing line between a mere murderer and the devoted cultist. Teldrys worships Sithis and the Night Mother, and he worships them well.
6. Biggest Fear
For a long period of time, a single thought of falling asleep has been so terrifying, that Teldrys decided to stay awake as long as possible, but after a week he ended up sleeping right on a desk, seeing nightmares that haunted him once again and reliving memories he meant to escape from, anyway. But as the centuries passed, everyday nightmares became a pretty normal thing for Teldrys. Oh, and he's a sleep talker. Or a sleep screamer?..
Tumblr media
7. Pet Peeves
Vicente's Valtieri rumblings about rumpled shirts and manners. Dirty jokes. Questions, such as "Have you eaten?", "Have you slept?"
8. Do they like being dragonborn?
He isn't one. He isn't Champion of Cyrodiil, a hero or a savior in any sense.
9. Favourite faction
Viciously evil death cult that worships Nothing At All and Everything At Once, and sacrifices souls of mortal beings to the eternal manifestation of Doom and Constant Change, personified as Sithis.
The Dark Brotherhood, indeed.
10. An object of sentimental value
The Blade of Woe and a label from the bottle with an image of the White-Gold Tower.
11. Hobbies
Teldrys has a busy schedule and very little spare time, but he invests all of it in reading.
12. Favourite city
Cheydinhal, without any doubt.
Tagging: oh, the toughest one since I'm in a mode 'working not talking' of constantly producing artwork for my sweeties :3 @sheirukitriesfandom YOU! The whole world (and me, of course) wants to hear more about your grumpy chic Amilanu! If I may tag you back, that is. Am I violating any rules?.. @miindli Sweetheart? I've seen you here like since the beginning. I think. Would you? Could you? You know?.. If you're reading this, you should know that I love you all with all my heart. Thank you for staying here.
