Womanizer (Vash x F!Reader)

Plot: You've been traveling with Vash for a little while and with your current circumstances end up sharing a room. Turns out the confined space affects Vash in strange ways and he has turned on his charm to try and seduce you.

Series: Tempest Wind, but made to work as a oneshot

Author's Note: I said I would post this chapter for Valentine's Day or when I have my next mental breakdown. Well, it's not V-Day and while I do have a mental breakdown, this is different. I am vibrating with excitement as I can smell the finish line of Tempest Wind. There are only a few more chapters left to write, one rewrite and then a whole lot of editing. BUT I am nearly there and I can't wait to publish it for all to read! I will make the announcement for the release date soon! Follow me for more updates!

The bathroom door opens and you turn your gaze away from the window as you sit on the wide bed, your legs pulled against your chest. You see Vash exiting the small room, his hair still damp, but he wears a clean change of clothes. You see a pile of dirty laundry on the floor behind him. He looks a bit more cheered up from the refreshing shower.

"Okay, your turn. I'll deal with my laundry later. Hope you don't mind it being on the floor." he smiles awkwardly.

"Only under one condition... You have to do me a favor." you feel weird for what you're about to ask him.

"Anything," he assures with a neutral expression.

"Uhm. I... I need a change of clothes and I... I don't... well... you know... I don't want to go speak to people... on my own." you add the last part solely because you don't want to sound like a complete wimp.

"Oh, no problem!" he's like a cheerful puppy, "Well, one problem. I saw the place where they trade for clothes and the woman already closed shop. I was thinking that you might need some new stuff so I kept my eyes open."

"Oh well, guess I'll just be nude then while my clothes dry," you say quietly knowing what reaction this would get out of him. And you are completely right: he immediately goes red in the face.

"While I have nothing against it at all, I think I have a spare shirt in my bag I kept clean for emergencies." he mumbles out, too much of a goody two shoes to leave you in a situation where your options were to wear dirty and torn clothes or to be naked. He digs through his bag, throwing more dirty clothes into the bathroom and finally pulls out another black turtleneck. He gives it a sniff and then throws it at you. "No pants tho, not that they would fit you well anyway."

"Thank you." You catch the shirt and smile at him. You know his shirt is big and long enough for you to wear as a short dress. You keep it against your chest like a treasure when you get up and pick up the other stuff the hotel provides for your wash. As you pass Vash he gives you a gentle smile and you see it in his eyes too.

You lock the bathroom door and throw off your dirty clothes. The wounds in your stomach and chest are all healed up. You get into the shower and turn on the water. You let out a sigh and get to cleaning off the dirt and dried blood on your skin. It feels nice to be clean, your hair detangled and free of debris. You stand there for a little while, letting the water wash away the past. You wake from your daze and realize you're just wasting water so you get out and dry yourself off completely before pulling Vash's turtleneck on.

Everything is too big on you and it makes you chuckle. Vash doesn't look like a large person under his coat, but he has wide shoulders and a muscular physique, not to mention he is tall with long limbs. You roll up the sleeves to your elbows and pull down the shirt a bit more, it's halfway to your knees. You feel the thick fabric against your skin and smell the collar. It is clean, but has still a faint scent that you are used to smelling on Vash.

You unlock the door and step out. The room is lit by the sunshine coming in from the window, the brightest spot being the table underneath it. Vash is sitting there and has taken apart his gun to give it a clean, his supplies scattered around. He turns to look at you when you step into the bedroom and lets out a whistle.

"I'd offered you my clothes a lot sooner had I realized how well they suit you." Vash's voice is joyous and almost too innocent. He stands up to come closer. You don't move and only look at him with curiosity. As he stands toe to toe with you he looks at you for a moment longer before taking off his sunglasses and turning them around to place them on your nose. "Great, you're only missing my coat and then you can go off and be Vash the Stampede."

"Funny man," you reply, voice neutral, "I'm missing a few key characteristics... like the desire to get shot."

"Your words sting, woman!" he says with a hurt expression and a condescending tone, but a smile lingers on the corner of his mouth.

"Even so, I'm sure "Vash the Stampede spotted running around with no pants on!" would be a catchy headline." you look at him through the orange glasses, he and the whole room seems sunnier, happier, filled with warmth.

"No, don't think so, it didn't turn many heads last time, but with you things might be different." he laughs, a genuine smile on his face and it makes your heart lighter. It makes you glad seeing him like this, every moment he seems happy makes you proud and you want to squeeze him tight as a sign of it. He hasn't told you much about his past and he doesn't need to, you know he has suffered a lot and still does, the pain of it painted on his face when he thinks you can't see.

"You are a ladies man, aren't you? A womanizer, a skirt chaser if you will." you say, looking up at him like you accuse him of something.

"What makes you say that? Are my charms working on you?" He seems almost too proud of it and you slowly shake your head with a sigh, a smile lingering on your lips, "What? Are you too embarrassed to admit I have game?"

"You are a tease. Probably the most un-serious person I've ever come across." you look him in the eyes, "And somehow, also the most serious, unshakable soul. You are an intriguing contradiction."

"Is it so hard to admit a simple truth?" he has a very playful expression on his face as he leans closer, you don't think you have seen him like this before.

"I'd rather get shot at than admit something like that." you joke, not shying away from him.

"Ouch."

Your arms yearn to reach out to him, to pull him closer, but instead you step around him, one of your arms nudging his as you pass and go to sit at the table to look at the weapon on it. You haven't seen it this close up before. You pick a piece of it up, you aren't even sure where it would go, never before have you held a gun in any form, they always made you feel uneasy, how they are able to take a life from afar.

"You call me unshakable? You're more stubborn than a tomas." Vash whispers right behind you, his breath moving your hair and sending a shiver up your back. He lets out a laugh as you turn around, one hand over the spot his air had tickled.

"You're so annoying." you blurt out, still looking at him through the orange glasses. His face is so close to yours even though you are leaning back a bit.

"Yet you still stick around." he laughs, a glimmer in him making your heart burst. "I'm not complaining, Sweet Pea."

"Insufferable. Do confined spaces always make you like this? I don't remember you acting up under the open desert sky. You were very civil." you say calmly, still teasing him.

"It's not the confined space that does me like this. No, no, it's probably you wearing my turtleneck that's slowly creeping up."

That comment makes you turn red, quickly you put the piece of the gun back onto the table and then both your hands pull the shirt down more and keep it down on your lap. You were still completely covered and you realize he only said it to rile you up. Guess he is just as good at teasing you as you are with him. He laughs and takes half a step back.

"Only joking, Sweet Pea, don't worry. Well, maybe part of what I said was true." he shrugs and reaches out over you to pick up pieces of his gun and starts to put it back together. You are blocked in and he doesn't look like he will let you get away.

What are these words coming out of his mouth? Vash is shocked, too stunned of his own brain. For the week he has been travelling with you after the incident in town he has wanted to pull you closer, give you a tight hug, hold you and take care of you the same way you seem to be taking care of him. All this time his aches and pains, both emotional and physical have found relief from you in one way or another. You have given him trust and comfort he hasn't felt in a long time. Vash thinks you might have been sent by a god perhaps. He is so grateful for you, but seeing like you keep some distance between the two of you, not shying away, but not coming closer either, makes him worried. He longs to be closer.

His head had been a mess of thoughts and ideas, but once he had seen you exit the bathroom everything was wiped clean. A million butterflies had taken over his stomach, filling his insides, his lungs, climbing up his throat. All he wanted was you by his side, no matter what.

The words coming over his lips were barely his, he blames the fluttering in his stomach, his head so wiped he might have even forgotten his name at that very moment. Everything he said to seduce you came from somewhere deep inside him, he felt so flustered he was surprised he could speak at all. He was worried he might have done it now, he had gone too far, been too weird, but you didn't shy away from him, not even a millimeter. Your face had been so close to his he had felt you exhale. He has gotten used to the rampaging insects to the point where he knows he won't be able to say anything close to as smooth again, not without stuttering at the very least. So he turns his attention back to his gun, leaving you just as flustered as he felt inside. He didn't want you to leave yet so he stood in your way so you had to keep sitting there, right next to him and he could steal a glance of you at any moment.

You look heavenly to him sitting in that ray of sunlight, his glasses still on your nose, painting your face with an orange light where the sun shines through the lenses. The oversized shirt makes you look so warm and cozy. You watched him assemble his gun, your eyes never leaving his hands, the way all of Vash's movements seem to have a purpose, the way his metal hand moves just like a flesh one. It is fascinating to you, the meticulous movements are like a performance, the way he flicks the gun, makes sure everything moves smoothly. After a bit your eyes stray out the window, you see the people moving in the streets, them going on their business, everything seems so peaceful like there's no violence in this world at all. You feel so normal, like you could fit in with them. The thought of you mingling among them, living a calm and local life brings a sad smile onto your face that you don't even notice until Vash's human fingers trace over your cheek.

"Don't look so sad," his hand goes to rest on the back of the chair. "Can I cheer you up somehow?"

You look up into his pretty blue eyes, they look like endless wells to you, they remind you of water, but not the kind you are used to on this planet. They recall a memory from a different life, one that you no longer remember.

"I'm fine, nothing to worry about. It was just my mind wandering off." you assure him, still looking into his eyes. You see his hand move off the chair again from the corner of your eye. It's as if he can't stop himself, he places his palm onto your cheek his thumb stroking your skin. He feels how soft and smooth it is, a painful reminder of the scars covering his body.

You look at him, his complexion seems golden through his sunglasses. His hand moves under your chin, the thumb trailing over it, your lips parting a little. His eyes are on your lips as he slowly leans closer. He yearns for you with his whole soul. His eyes find yours again, you look unshakable, like a constant that would never change. But he knows that if he's not careful he might lose you and it would be his fault. He hasn't even told you the truth yet, hasn't revealed his true nature. He can't be this selfish. So he stops and moves both hands up to take the glasses from you and put them back onto his own nose, tilting his head masterfully to the point where the light from the window would mirror back from the glasses and hide his eyes from you.

You look at him for a moment longer, frozen on that chair before turning away. How you had wanted to lose the gap, to pull him closer. But it's all too much, too fast. He says he trusts you, but you barely know anything about him, he guards his secrets closely. But you can't blame him for keeping his secrets, there's plenty you haven't told him either. Yet he fills your stomach with butterflies.

Heyy skuppo I like your fanfic a lot and I’ve noticed u haven’t been online at all, u okay? I’m not trying to be pushy for a new chapter, sorry if it comes off that way. I was just wondering if your were alr?

Hi hello! It's very kind that you're reaching out here like this! 💖 It made me happy to see when I noticed, which admittedly took awhile (I'm so sorry!), because I have been very disconnected from everything lately!

This is kinda rambly so I'll give it a cut!

I am doing ALL RIGHT (right now, anyway, because before, I was doing TERRIBLY AHHHH like seriously some of the worst months of my life there for a bunch of stupid and also personally catastrophic reasons). I don't really want to get into all that because it's a huge bummer and it all REALLY SUCKED and I don't want to trauma dump! I'm sure I'll get into it a bit on my next author's note! BUT FEAR NOT, I'm not one of those people who gets upset even if people are like, "YO WHERE'S YOUR FIC" even if that was your intention -- long as it's respectful! It actually makes me more happy than anything to hear people still care about my story when I go into social hibernation mode 😭 selfishly my story means the world to me, so anytime anyone likes it, I'm like, yesssssss, my life is validated!

And on THAT front, I'm done with a chapter! I'm gonna do one quick and final pass-over edit and then it'll get posted tomorrow, either before or after work! (It's currently 11:00ish pm here in CST land, so expect it somewhere between like, idk, 8:30 AM and... 5? tomorrow??) Gonna take some brief time to ramble here because WHY NOT and also I AM ANXIOUS and gotta word vomit to STOP IT (it won't actually stop any of the anxiety BUT I CAN TRY) and am I really myself if I am not taking a short, sweet comment and using it to BLAB FOR DAYS???: it's not as long as my last couple of chapters because those 20k+ behemoths were exhausting as fuck to edit and really killed my drive to write. This is more my old style of 10-14k sorta chapters, and the one AFTER it is also actually written, too, it just needs a lot more editing. And then there's a TON of stuff after it I've also written too. In my long sabbatical, I basically let myself write scenes from parts of my fic as I was inspired to write them and not necessarily chronologically! This kinda resulted in me having TONS of shit written but nothing I could post, but it was also all I could really emotionally manage at the time. Between that and letting myself go back to smaller chapter sizes, I'm hoping it means I can go back to posting with a lot more regularity -- like, idk, once every week or two. I kept falling into this DUMB TRAP where I'd get anxious about a long portion of the story being more introspective/emotion-exploring than plot advancing and think, well, I have to hold on until I get some introspection AND some plot advancing moments, and that meant I'd end up with some INSANELY LONG CHAPTERS and editing those things made me really wanna walk directly into oncoming traffic. They were especially torture when I was NOT doing so hot on the brainmeat front, which is... OFTEN. Like who isn't emotionally and mentally a mess these days, the world is a DISASTER Anyway, long story short, I'm going to stop holding myself to arbitrary goals and allow myself to sometimes publish a chapter that's more about some horror-drenched domestic nightmare-fluff even if it doesn't have anything SUPER plot advancey at the moment because it's what makes me happy! AND HEY, character development is plot advancement too! (THAT'S WHAT I'M TELLING MYSELF ANYWAY AHHHH)

(In actuality I feel like I'm constantly terrified I'm letting the 20 people who consistently read my stuff down, but I gotta like, try really really hard to NOT think about that, HNNGH.)

I really think it'll be better for everyone tho. I'm more motivated to write when things don't take me a month and a half, because when it takes me a month and a half to write ONE CHAPTER I want to take a 7 year sabbatical not only from writing, but from life. I don't tend to get near as exhausted churning through smaller chapters though! Also, I hope you're reading on Ao3 and NOT FF.net cause I probably won't be posting there immediately! This chapter gets more overtly sexual than previous ones and I know FF.net isn't down for that so I gotta... find some way to edit it so it's not as heinous? Which is like HALF THE POINT OF THE CHAPTER, so I'm concerned! 🫠 Not that FF.net has any moderation anymore, but y'know, just in case! PS - for the anon who sent me the ask asking when the fic was getting updated sometime in mid January, the answer is: TOMORROW! <3

Did you sort out your beef with pacrim au? I'm soooooo excited for ch1!! 🧡 and how many chapters do you think it will be?

hiiiiii!!! im still beefing with it a little to be honest but i think im gonna have to just publish it soon either way hashsahash theres just a lot of exposition in the first two chapters and it was kind of pissing me off? i dont think theres any way around it tho in this situation, so im just gonna let it sit for a few days before i do the final proofread and see if it's really that clunky or if ive just been looking at it for too long. it means i can spend that time trying to get ahead on the rest of it, so it's all good <3 its lookin kind of long rn. 10 chapters and an epilogue?

idk if ive posted this already? but

“The thing about it,” Max is saying, “is it’s just dirty leaf water until you have a really good one, I think. I went my whole life without drinking it, I loved it while I was there, and now that I’m here it’s like, why even bother with it. I know it will just taste like grass.”

He’s sprawled across the battered sofa in Charles’ office that Charles sleeps on sometimes, the window cracked open above him to let the sounds of the waves filter through. With one hand, he gestures along to his own words; with the other he squeezes Charles’ rubber band ball in his fist, over and over.

“There is a lot of good tea in the world, Max,” Charles points out. He’s seated at his desk, trying desperately to get some work done, no thanks to Max and his unending monologue about anything and everything. Max is a lot more interesting than the data sheets currently clogging his inbox, but Charles would be loathe to let him know that—especially when Max probably already knows anyway.

Max lets out a dubious noise that sounds a bit like a sheep and throws the ball, narrowly catching it before it lands on his own nose. “Not in Australia, mate, it’s not the same type.”

“How do you know? Have you tried it?”

“Daniel told me that. He said it’s better in Japan. It’s like how I only like the sushi in Japan because it’s of course better there.”

Charles tears his eyes away from his holoscreen to point a pen in Max’s direction. “That’s not true, you were just trying it with my tastes this time. Of course you like it now.”

“It’s definitely better in Japan,” Max says with a laugh.

“Well, yes, I am sure. But you like it now because I like it.”

“That’s not true.”

“Of course it’s true. You hate fish. You always have,” Charles insists. “The only fish you like is the kind I like too. Obviously it is not a coincidence.”

Max grins at the ceiling, tossing the rubber band ball again. “Who says you didn’t get it from me, then?”

Charles splutters. “I did not,” he protests. “The only things I got from you were pork cravings and rock lyrics, you tasteless—”

Two raps sound against his doorframe, and then Ollie’s face is appearing in the gap. “Is now a bad time?” he asks softly, then blanches when he sees Max laying across the couch, still tossing the rubber band ball around.

For some reason Max grins even wider.

“No, come in, Ollie,” Charles says. He pushes his glasses up, rubbing the pressure point between his eyebrows. “What is it?”

The sheaf of papers in Ollie’s hands apparently forgotten, he takes a crisp step toward Max. “Commander, sir.”

“He’s off duty,” Charles tells him. “Actually, he’s not even supposed to be in here.”

“You can just call me Max,” Max says, ignoring him. “Nice to meet you. Ollie, was it?”

“Yes, sir, Oliver Bearman. I’m a cadet with the Faenza Academy.”

“Faenza,” Max repeats, shooting Charles a warm look. Charles ignores him.

Ollie hesitates, shooting Charles a look. “It’s…well, it’s an honor. Charles, Oscar thinks he found the issue with Item 46.”

Charles grimaces. “Ah.”

“What’s item 46?” Max pipes up.

“Confidential,” Charles says with an eye roll.

“Even to me?”

“Yes, even to you.” Switching to Dutch, he adds, “I’ll come find you tomorrow. We should spar.”

“Fine,” Max answers. He gets to his feet, brushing imaginary dust off his jeans before tossing the rubber band ball back onto Charles’ desk. It knocks his cup of pens over; Charles glares. “You owe me lunch. I haven’t forgotten. I want Thai food.”

“Not Bangkok Bistro. We went last week.”

“Fine, somewhere else, but I want pad see ew. Ollie,” he adds in English, “lovely to meet you.”

“Thank you. You too, sir.”

“Don’t let Charles give you any shit, okay?” And then he slips around the doorway and is gone before Charles can even come up with a suitable insult.

Hello! I Just wanted to let you know that I LOVED the published ver. of "Don't Shoot the Messenger". And I was so excited to hear that Dale and Sana's story might get published too.

At first I was really unsure about getting the book, as I didn't want to be disappointed if the changes made didn't translate well compared to the original. BUT YOU KNOCKED MY EXPECTATIONS RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER!! IT WAS SO GOOD!!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm so excited for your future projects. And I wish you luck on your future publishing endeavours because I will be buying all future published books by you. And no one can stop me haha >:D

I also wanted to ask if there's a chance that any of your other previous works will also be published? Of course it's a huge effort of time and resources to publish something. But I do hold out hope that I might one day hold Heshi's story in my hands because truthfully it's such a comfort to me and I go back to it periodically to reread. I love that snakey boi. NO PRESSURE THO. If that's not in the cards, just the fact that it exists as a story is wonderful. Thank you so much for all the writing you do.

hi! thanks so much! i really liked what DSM actually was and focused on my own edits and that of my editors just honing it to be the best version of itself - so i'm glad that came through and you liked it!

Dale and Sana's story definitely will be self-published,its just a matter of when. it's also probably gonna get more tweaks than DSM due to the length and the way the story evolved over 2 years lol

thank you so much for your support and encouragement with publishing! i'm so happy people are excited about actually buying my stories lol

As for previous short stories that getting published, the answer is yes, i do have plans to publish them as well, they're just a lower priority for multiple reasons. firstly, me and everyone wants NWWD the most so its #1.

For 'Finally Woken' i actually already have the first 2 chapters converted to 3rd POV, however, its shorter than DSM and so would cost nearly as much to have edited but would sell for less (and amazon will try to tell me the spine is too narrow lol) so my current thoughts are to bundle it with 'Selfish' (helpfully already in 3rd person) and make a Naga Novella (called like 'Tangled Up in Tails' or something lol) with both of them in it so i can release it priced similarly to DSM.

For 'Sacrifice', i actually have plans to make that a 5 novella series about different forgotten deities returning to the same town, with 'Sacrifice' likely being offered as a cheaper, first book about a month or so before the second is published to get people into the series. the rest of the novellas would likely not go up on tumblr/AO3 at all and would only be published. i'd like to use this hypothetical series to see how that sort of model would work for me. i've planned out the 5 novellas to some extent but nothings really written yet besides 'Sacrifice'. as a complete project, its very low on my list after everything i'll b posting here and NWWD publishing, so since 'Sacrifice' is tied to that, its not likely to get published anytime soon.

For 'Snapped', i'd likely do something similar to 'Finally Woken' - write another short Sci-Fi/Alien story and bundle them together for publishing. However, i dont currently have anything written that would work so that's also a low priority evn if 'Snapped' is already 3rd POV.

I'm really excited to self-publish my work, but its expensive and what I've made from DSM has come nowhere close to covering my costs and likely won't. the only good thing is basically all the costs are up-front so its easy to jsut keep the books out there and making money when ppl buy it. i have a good job and am happy to spend my money to get my work out there and hope over time self-publishing will break-even, but that will take years at a minimum so it'll be slow going in the beginning.

my goal is to get everything self-published so it'll just be a matter of time - i too want to hold a copy of Heshi's story in my hands lol

Hey so I'm that weirdo who turns up on the internet once every two years and then vanishes again into the ether...

Okay, first things first: I'm gonna be at Big Finish Day in London tomorrow. If you're there, please say hi! I'll be in CIA-Ace cosplay, complete with Docs and bomber jacket.

The big thing, tho, is that, after 15-odd years of ficwriting, I have finally gone "...these literal millions of words of fiction that I've written probably at some point began to constitute the kind of thing that even late-stage capitalism would recognize as Labor, huh." So when my husband and I started toying around with a premise based on our RP characters, I went - fuck it. Imma polish this up, put it on Wattpad and see if I can't take a crack at actually making a living from my writing. I've only wanted to be a writer since I was, y'know, five. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, yeah?

And so I've posted the first two chapters of a new original novel - not the one that some of you may have heard me talk about before (which I'm still being a bit precious about and trying to save for a publisher), but one that, if you've read and enjoyed anything else I've ever written, I hope you might like. It's Victorian and fluffy and romantic and, I hope, sexy, but it's also full of literary allusions, banter and female characters who absolutely will not be fucked with. Mostly it exists, in fact, as a giant middle finger to Leo Tolstoy, because I hate Anna Karenina on such a visceral level that it takes 60,000 words to say how much. Also, if you look at some of the characters, squint and go "...they look familiar," you're probably right. The main stately house is called Longbarrow Hall, that's all I'm gonna say about that.

So! If you've ever read and enjoyed anything I've ever written, can I please ask you to at least take a look, and consider sharing this post? Even if you find it's not really your thing, it would be so helpful to me to get eyes on it, especially early on. It's 100% written at this point, and is posting in 20 chapters. The first two are up today, and the subsequent ones will post every Friday hereafter.

My Kpop Journey So Far 💝

Kpop found me in the summer of 2022 (mid-June, July). Here's what has happened to me since then.

I originally published this on AO3 on January 9, 2024. Was informed by the site (via email) to delete it from my AO3 account, as it was not a fan work (it fell under the personal message category). So, I'm re-posting it here to Tumblr.

The first group I found was Stray Kids & it was with the God's Menu music video that I felt a spark of something flicker in my heart. I was on YouTube late one night, watching another channel and trying to get my brain to go into survival mode to cope.

In March 2022, my parents & I relocated from our hometown to a different city in another state due to my dad’s work changing (he is the primary income provider for our family atm). I had a full-time job of my own, with a good salary & company benefits. Sadly, I did not earn enough to stay behind on my own so I had to move with my parents. I was heartbroken, for I'd had to say goodbye to co-worker friends, lost my steady income (some of the best I’ve ever earned in my entire working life as an adult) & the remaining ½ a semblance of a normal life. Joy & hope stuttered out for me & some days, I felt so desolate it was as if my heart was being squeezed internally by an invisible, evil hand & the liquid weeping from my soul was a thick, black & foul-smelling poison — grief. No one in my family nor other loved ones had passed away, yet I think you can see where I’m coming from. I recall going to bed one night in our new apartment in this new city we'd moved to & feeling my chest being tight — yet it wasn’t actual chest pains. It was hopelessness at our current family situation. 💔😔 (Things are much the same currently.)

It was the middle of June 2022. I was watching a few videos on a channel I’d recently found, Jin & Hattie. Go check them out. They’re adorable. He’s Korean 🇰🇷 & she’s British 🇬🇧. They’re also recently married (sometime in 2022 or early 2023, I don’t recall which). No, not the Jin from BTS, haha. 😄💜

I glanced at the sidebar of video recommendations & my eyes strayed to a Stray Kids music video that appeared there. I may have even clicked on Maniac first, I don’t remember. The point is, God’s Menu caught my eye. I was captivated by the sound & rhythm of Changbin’s opening rapid-fire rap lines.

The next thing that caused me to wake up was Felix’s deep baritone. Everyone (& I mean anyone who’s even remotely heard of Stray Kids) knows what part of the video I am talking about. 😮‍💨🔥

Does Michelin 5 star ring any bells? 😎

Or the phrase "the Felix effect"? 😏

The rest, as the saying goes, is history.

I reached for my phone, which was resting on my bedside table. I tapped on Apple Music as fast as I could & IMMEDIATELY began building a Kpop playlist. Before the night was over, I had 20+ songs on that list. (Flash-forward ⏭️ to January 2024 & there were 141 songs = 7 hrs & 59 min. February 2025 — I've edited the playlist a bit, moved some songs to other lists ... it's currently at 113 songs, 6 hrs 18 min.)

The next step in my journey was on Facebook, a platform I’ve been on for the past 13 years. I’d clicked around and began “following/ liking👍🏻” any Stray Kids-themed page I could find, both official & unofficial accounts.

A post caught my eye & I read it. It was talking about how the members enjoyed communicating with the Stay fandom on the bubble 🫧 app. I remember thinking, what in the world is BUBBLE, so I downloaded it to my phone.

Moments later, I had an account created & discovered the public chat room feature. (This has been discontinued for some time now due to harassment & bullying allegations between toxic & non-toxic fans — or so I've heard.) Had I not randomly got on 🫧 when I did, I would not have begun my online friendship journey with several different Stays.

I felt a connection to 3 people in particular.

One was a School Girl, in her early teens

Another was a Single Mother in her early 20s

The third person was another young lady in her Late Teens, about to graduate from high school

School Girl was from the United States. 🇺🇸

Single Mom was from Chile 🇨🇱, a country in South America.

Late Teen was from Hungary 🇭🇺.

It wasn’t long before my new friends & I moved our conversations over to other social media platforms, where we could talk more easily.

School Girl, Single Mom & I began talking on WhatsApp. Late Teen & I began chatting via DM on Instagram.

It was only several weeks later that JYP Entertainment disabled the public chat room feature entirely on 🫧. I recall saying to School Girl that I’m glad I found the app when I did; otherwise, I would not have “met” them at all.

As I talked with Single Mom, I was first introduced to the world of fan fiction (“fanfic” for short). She was writing a multi-chapter story that she was posting to her Wattpad account. Her native language was Spanish (yet she spoke excellent English).

Every 2-3 weeks or so, she would text me & School Girl two (2) chapters to read/ get feedback on. These would always be in English; she used Google Translate. Her fanfic was Stray Kids-themed & it was lovely. 🥰

I would read the chapters as she'd text them to me & School Girl. I would then write back what I thought was happening in each one. Yes, I was loosely paraphrasing, NOT plagiarizing (copying) her work, I hasten to add. ☝🏻

She was thrilled at these summaries, as I came to call them. She told me many times that it was a joy to read her own story from another’s point of view. I assured her I was not re-writing her ideas into something else, merely paraphrasing and putting into English grammar/ punctuation what she’d already written … i.e. using her original “manuscripts” as a guide. This went on for the rest of 2022 & part-way into 2023. School Girl would text back when she could about these fanfic chapters, having begun her freshman year of high school.

Late Teen was close to finishing her high school years. My interactions with her lasted only a few more months. I remember she was saving up for a new laptop computer & did indeed end up buying one. I know this because she proudly sent me photos of her new computer on our private Instagram chat. 📸💻🥰 (I began interacting with Late Teen only several weeks before School Girl & Single Mom.)

It was around the time of Stray Kids' Maxident comeback (October 2022) that my conversations with Late Teen began to trickle to a stop. This was a natural progression — neither of us ended communication, it just stopped on its own. And that’s the way life is: some people are in your life for only a short time & then they go away for whatever reason. I wished her well in one of my last messages & haven’t been in contact with her since. We’re still friends on Instagram, but we don't talk anymore. I am ok with that. 🙂 I hope she’s doing well and has enjoyed all the comeback albums since then.

My conversations with School Girl and Single Mom lasted longer than that & were more frequent in nature. At the time of me writing these edits, my WhatsApp chat with Single Mom is still active, though we now only occasionally text each other on Instagram Messenger. School Girl left our group WhatsApp chat in August 2024. She had secured part-time employment & was juggling schoolwork + extracurricular school things.

My next “online Kpop friendship” was made on a Stray Kids fandom chat room on Discord. If it wasn’t for some random scrolling on Facebook & commenting on a random post, the admin of that SKZ fan Facebook page would never have known to add me to the Discord chat room. This new friend I will name Flight Attendant, for that was her job. To protect her privacy, I'm not saying what airline she works for. We began talking in mid-December 2022. After texting on Discord for a short time, she & I moved our conversation over to Instagram Messenger. I soon learned that Flight Attendant was the same age as me, in her early 30s.

I don't know if she still works for the same airline, has switched companies entirely or is even in the aviation industry anymore. The last we talked was around mid-August 2023, as she was planning to attend KCON 2023 in L.A. with her 2 sisters. ATEEZ and Stray Kids were both slated to appear in concert there. For the 6 months or so that we talked, she confided some very personal things to me — things I will always keep her confidence on. I was humbled she felt safe enough talking to me, to share what she did.

Her job was a difficult one, the hardships of which often went un-noticed by the majority of people — maintaining a semblance of a normal life in between working back-to-back 16+ hour shifts with little to no sleep, depending on flight schedules.

Everyone, the next time you take a flight somewhere, anywhere ... doesn't matter how long your flight is … please PLEASE PLEASE be kind to the cabin crew, particularly the flight attendants {both male & female}. They work very hard to make your travel as easy as they can. They deal with some very nasty passengers & to give your hard-working & under-appreciated flight crew a little amount of kindness in return goes a very long way & isn't too much to ask. They may not remember your name or your face after you leave their aircraft, yet they will always recall the kindness of your soul in reaching out to them with a smile.

I messaged Flight Attendant back a few more times on Instagram (fall/ winter 2023), yet never received a response. After thinking for some weeks, I deleted our Instagram chat thread entirely (from my end). Ma'am, if you ever read this (she knows who she is), it was not intentional. I never heard back from you & only wished to say hello one last time. I hope you’re doing well & a new semblance of peace has re-entered your life after all the hard things you went through. Please reach out to me any time, I am still here. You know where to find me on Instagram, you know my TikTok & you have my personal cell phone number. Discovered the even more lovely world of 🔞+ Kpop fanfic on the Archive of Our Own (AO3) website 🔥🔥🔥😏😏😏😈😈😈💦💦💦🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Found new skincare products & cosmetics… Crème Shop-brand, specifically the BT21 line of products

The next step in my journey was signing up for Felix’s chat ticket on 🫧. I couldn’t do all 8 members' tickets each month (that would be around $30.00 USD), yet $3.99 for one ticket … more than doable. 🙂

I’d only been chatting with Flight Attendant for a month when I got Bbokari's ticket. ☀️🐥 For anyone who has his ticket (& even if you don’t), you will know that he occasionally sends photos in large batches. He calls them gifts, often cutely spamming the Stay fandom with several hundred messages at a time. 🥰📱🫧

I've seen 350+ new "messages" from Felix before. Others have had over 700+!! Most of the texts are 1-2 word replies, while other times he sends several short sentences in one note. It varies.

59 second or shorter audio messages from him also are shared. If he speaks one in Korean, he’ll usually send 2-3 more in English.

The more days you have a ticket, the longer a reply you can type back. At first, you will be limited to typing only 2-3 words. If you’re patient, you’ll be able to type more the longer you have a ticket. 💕🔖

Shortly after this, I began reading some of my first fanfic stories on Archive of Our Own (AO3). A few things to know about AO3:

You don’t have to have an account to read anything (I recommend using the Google Chrome web browser)

If you want to comment, leave kudos for an author or post a work of your own, you have to have an active account in good standing (you can request to join the "waitlist" to be sent steps to create log-in credentials)

I only had to wait about a week or so before the website sent me the official “account creation invite” link.

About fanfic stories on AO3 (no matter the amount of smut), they made me feel less lonely. It was liberating for me to put myself in the Y/N (your name) character’s position & transport myself to another world. Even a quick re-read of a favorite one-shot story works wonders, believe me. I still feel this way about all the stories today. Don’t misunderstand, I’m not so devoid of friendships & human interaction irl to survive only on fanfic smut.

My next friendship was with a very successful AO3 fic author. (I still keep in touch with this fanfic author to this day.) Flight Attendant sent me a link to a story called Tangled; it’s written by ThisPeachIsDirty. The author’s name is all one word together, each word is capitalized.

Part 1 of Tangled is 60 chapters long & has been marked complete.

Part 2 has 6-7 chapters so far, with possibly more to come.

I'll refer to this author as Peach. After reading my way through 60 chapters of pure bliss (part 1 of the aforementioned story), I began chatting with her on Instagram Messenger. After a few messages were exchanged, she encouraged me to begin writing a fanfic of my own (which soon contained my first-ever written sex scene).

I wrote for a span of 5-6 hours one afternoon & sent Peach screenshots of my first attempts at smut. Complimenting my unique writing style, she told me it was unlike most of what she’s read & that I had a natural gift for writing.

One month prior (July 2023), I joined TikTok. I’d been collecting albums & Kpop merch for a year and slowly started making show & tell videos of items in my collection.

As a friendly FYI & disclaimer: I would share my TikTok (TT) page on my Tumblr, yet I want to keep the more adult side 🔥😏 of fanfic separate from TT.

I know for a fact that some of my TikTok followers are minors. One told me in a DM that she was 14; another began her 6th grade year/ was even younger. I don’t want to have to worry about any “oopsey’s” crossover 🫣🫢😬 and a youngster reading something they shouldn’t.

I was 4 chapters in on my first attempt at a full-length story on AO3 when I began receiving kudos & comments from other fanfic users on the site. One was Peach. Another individual who left me a comment is an equally talented fic author too. Her name is Minnieprincess. Go check out her one-shot stories on there, if you haven’t already. Like with Peach’s stories, you will NOT be disappointed. 😏🙏🏻🔥😈🔞

My acquaintance with Minnie, as I’ll refer to her, brings me to the next step in my journey. Since August 2023 (when she left her first comment on my story), we’ve become very close friends. She is someone I know I'll always stay in regular contact with.

Chatting in the comment section on my AO3 story is how we "met". We exchanged short messages on Wattpad before connecting again on Instagram Messenger. What followed in the next few months was one of the most meaningful instant-connection friendships I’ve ever had with anyone.

I located a missing piece of myself in our friendship. It didn't take the 2 of us long before we called each other soul sisters. We came to trust one another enough to share things about ourselves that are very personal. To put this into a slightly different perspective, I am only child irl. Having Minnie as a new sibling is a gift I’m thankful for x10, every day. 🥹❤️🩹

We moved our conversation over to WhatsApp after a few more months; we talk on a semi-daily basis on this app to this day. Longer messages being exchanged, we told things to each other that we weren't able to before.

In December 2023, I mailed Minnie a Kpop care box. It took 22 days to arrive to her doorstep. I’d bought her 4 different albums & handfuls of merch items, all of which she heartily adored. 💕🥰 Having the memory of video chatting with her on WhatsApp as we opened up the Rock version of Stray Kids' Rock-Star album together (we each have a copy) is something I will cherish forever. 🥹

What could happen next with my Kpop journey & myself as a person? I’m not sure yet. Here's a few random ideas: ☺️⬇️

Getting my first-ever tattoo (or two or three), Kpop-themed

Traveling overseas for the first time to visit Minnie (or meeting up with her in the U.S.)

Attending my first Kpop concert (preferably Stray Kids)

Shopping at a Kpop-only stand alone store and buying more albums/ other merch (I've been doing this since the end of March 2024, lol 🥰 ... I may briefly describe this in a part 2 to this essay ... at some point, I'm not sure yet)

Healing can come in many forms. This essay has been fun & thoughtful to write, to remember how Kpop & the gift of human connection has, in a healthy way, filled a void in my life.

Unless a fic is like, really short, (which often it’s not bc I can rarely write oneshots for these fuckers /aff), it’s always a chapter by chapter basis, not all at once. Because otherwise, it would take an year for the fic to come out (and I would get too conscious about the first chapter and get tempted to change every little thing about it LMAO)

Funnily enough, I was just working on a piece for it so that should be out later today!

tbh i like every fic ive published at least a little bit, cause if write sth i dont vibe with, i simply dont post it on ao3 in order to keep my sanity akjsdjk but!

i'd say that 1) my first fic ("love your doubts away") is the most special to me just bc its like my first born child haha (despite it being objectively the one thats written most poorly, since i had no idea what i was doing even more than usual - i only picked up writing bc of nagireo, i literally never felt the irresistable urge to write before them)

this fic is basically my first daydream nagireo scenario in written form. it started taking shape in my mind during the time i was quickly descending into madness and was thinking abt nagireo more and more often. i desperately needed an outlet for all the emotions i was experiencing, so i decided to give it a shot even if nobody read it. fun fact: i didnt have an ao3 account before that cause i only used the site to read stuff, so i had to wait to get an invitation before i could post the first chapter of the fic haha

& 2) the one i'd feel the least embarrassed re-reading at this moment would probs be my third one ("the price of ambiguity"), but that could change in the future, depending on how my current one turns out (sadly, i havent had time to update that one in the last two months T-T, i'm so slow and lazy, thats why ive only written 4 fics in more than 2 years....im so grateful to writers who feed us regularly!!!)

this one came abt by my deepest desire to witness nagi & reo crying in each other's arms tbh. i wanted to write a fic which would lead to that moment and thought hey! why not try the classic kissing practice trope but in a nagireo miscommunication way? this concept could easily result in them being forced to open their damn mouths and confess..... (they make me insane, ugh)

as for my username here, it's a reference to one of my fav character's last name (yuta okkotsu from jjk)!

ive been depating changing it to sth nagireo related tho, cause i dont really have positive feelings towards jjk anymore (except for my boy and gojo whom i still adore) & i dont think my nagireo obsession is going away any time soon.... we'll see....

1. I totally love your ships! And I already have read your fanfics of them and they're so good! I was wondering if like, you also ship some of the turtles with other characters (not tcest lol)

like would be there an Mona Lisa too like for rottmnt Raph? Do you also ship yuuichi usagi and rottmnt Leo? (Most shipped lol) And apparently there's also an Mikey and miles morales from the spiderverse (which was interesting lol, and I kinda love this crossover ships so much!) and for rottmnt donnie, not really sure yet hehe

I rarely get asks I love answering them tho! And first off, thank you 😊 feel free to ask me anything you’d like I’m always happy to answer.

1. So I have a few ships. First the most obvious ones, 2012 Jonatello, Ramona and Shinirai. Then for MM I have Leopril (?) and Jonatello with my version of Casey. In 2003 it’s Capril and Karai x Chaplin . In Rise it’s Baronjitsu and Sunpril (?). And if it counts since they’re kinda OCs - Rise Saki and Tang Shen as well as Karai and Cha Lin (Rise Chaplin).

As for Leo and Usagi. I hate it, okay hate is a strong word but I heavily dislike it. I can get behind it and don’t mind it in 2003 but I have to admit the fans ruined the ship for in in Rise. I’ve seen people get mean comments because they shipped Leo with an OC or headcanoned him as something that isn’t gay. It’s started as not being my cup of tea to I really dislike it.

Miles and Mikey are a fun one. Not something I go out to to find but a nice surprise when I stumble upon it.

And for Raph. Well he gets an OC. It’s Tao (fic where they get together). I originally shipped Tao with 2012 Leo but I wanted to take then out of the context of the crossover and then it developed into them getting with Raph. Which in turn resulted in me creating more versions of Tao for different iterations. Each one is also shipped with a different turtle as of right now. I’ll reveal more about them when I get the references done. 🥰

And since you specifically asked about Rise Donnie, I don’t have anything right now but there are ideas for an OC. 🤫

2. Yes! If all goes well I’ll publish it in June this year for pride month. 🏳️‍🌈☺️

3. I try to write one chapter a week when I have a multichapter fic in the works and update weekly. I also like being 2 - 3 chapters ahead of schedule to take the pressures off my shoulders for when I can’t write for whatever reason. Also planning everything or most of it out before hand helps me too.

This is what works for me.

But I can also recommend just rambling your ideas and posting them. Maybe seeing people like the ideas you have gets you motivated.

Regardless, the most important part is that you enjoy what you’re writing and that your having fun writing. 🥰

As I did this last year, I thought I might do one for this year as well :)

-> So the general stats are quite similar to last year, it seems. Quite surprised that I managed to write that much, because I somehow felt like I was constantly taking breaks this year lol (but I guess that once I was in the right mood, I wrote a lot)

*[I took 2 stories (Paths to Happiness and La Rosa Rossa) with me into the next year last time. Because AO3 only shows the stats for the years in which each fic was last updated, I took screenshots of the stats back then and just subtracted the numbers of those fics from my stats this year]

-> Only posted this a couple weeks ago, but I loved working on this. And I'm so glad that I could finally publish something for Marina. I'm currently editing some of my old drafts, so hopefully, I will post more about her in the future :)

Also, to conclude this post, I just realized that I have a fic with zero kudos for the first time ever: Fairytales. I know Siena/Edwina is a rarepair, but I'm still surprised as it still got a couple views - I haven't read through it since I posted it, but I guess I will have to do a re-read soon, just in case fucked up in some way lol

Anyways, love how much I've written this year. And I've got more than enough stuff in my drafts to publish just as much in 2025 :D
