Researching your local guys n gals also helps a lot!
Learning how that one is only interested in eating dead leaves or how that wasp doesn't want to sting you because she needs that venom to bring food home for the babies and other fun facts makes it easier to see that they're just lil guys living their lil lives.
i’ve always been scared of butterflies and moths (even the pretty butterflies that nobody hates make me extremely uncomfortable) but your love of moths is helping me get over this, so thank you!
i'm glad :) <3 i'm a huge fan of bugs, even though there are a few that make me uncomfortable as well.
interestingly enough, you can kind of trick the human brain by anthropomorphising them just a little. it's a trick i see recommended to people who want to get over their arachnophobia a lot. the spider in the corner? he's a guy now and his name is paul. it's so dumb, but somehow it works, and turns them from scary creepy-crawly to "that lazy ass paul who has never caught a single bug since he's been here". or in this case, my dumb little roommate who likes bonking her head against light sources :)
