authors note: inspired by this fanart by @iwachansarm​ bc i love the artstyle so much and also my best friend who gave me this idea. listened to this while writing so yk, do that if you wanna get lost in the atmosphere i was trying to create, but anway, i am in love with iwaizumi hajime (27) athletic trainer. that’s it.

“fuck, it’s so cold”, you quietly complained to yourself as you got off the train, a freezing breeze biting at your skin through your thick jacket and hoody. hands interlocked in front of your face, you blew on them, trying to warm them up, as you observed several, colorful leaves being thrown around in the air by the strong wind.

you hated the cold. fall and winter were easily the worst seasons of the year, who in their right mind would enjoy feeling like a living, breathing popsicle all the time?

and why was it already so chilly, that it could only be described as arctic, at the start of october? fuck responsibilities, you deserved to stay in your warm bed, where the outside world wasn't able to reach you.

trying to get to college as fast as you could, you picked up your pace, knowing there was an inviting building with heaters waiting for you, even if you had to sit through torturingly long lectures to not die because of hypothermia. guess it was a fair price for not freezing to death.

just when you crossed the busy street to your destination, you suddenly felt a pleasant warmth spread in your chest, as you locked eyes with a striking olive-green pair.

looking as though he was about to murder somebody with a fear-inducing expression etched onto his face before noticing you, you could see the way his facial features gradually softened as he held your gaze, taking a blue earbud out of his ear and a tender and somehow shy smile spreading across his lips. the almost naked, but still vibrant trees and bushes around him only highlighted his beauty, even while he was just standing there, leaning against a wall, waiting for you.

the boy that never failed to make your heart flutter and forget whatever inconveniences were bugging you. iwaizumi hajime.

with sudden newfound energy, you sprinted towards your boyfriend, his arms opening in a welcoming, awaiting way, as you jumped inside them.

you could hear his velvety chuckle at your antics, his arms wrapping tightly around you, trapping you in the comfortable space that was your dark-haired, intimidating boyfriend.

“i missed you”, you mumbled, tired from getting up so early for the nuisance also known as education, against his neck.

“babe, we just saw each other yesterday”, he chuckled, his soothing tone sending tingles down your spine, “but i missed you too.” you knew he was embarrassed of admitting such an intimate detail at the way his voice got fainter at the last part and the tips of his ears turned a soft pink as you lifted your head to look at him.

not being able to hide your loving smile at seeing him so bashful just from confessing his feelings of longing towards you, you placed your hands on his cheeks, pulling him in for a soft kiss. feeling him smile against your lips send your heart into overdrive, your body heating up from the close proximity.

as the strong male let you back down on your feet and took your freezing hands into his own, warm ones with a ‘let’s go inside, baby. i know you hate the cold’, you couldn’t help but think that maybe, the inevitable drop in temperature every fall, wasn’t as dreadful with iwaizumi hajime by your side.
