I've been thinking about American diner lingo lately.

Like, relaying an order for poached eggs on toast as “Adam and Eve on a raft.” Or “shingles with a shimmy and shake” for buttered toast with jam.

(I personally learned about this phenomenon as a very young child because we had a picture book where a bear and an elephant are roommates and temp workers and they get a job at a diner for a while. Couldn't tell you why this streamed back into my brain like a week ago, but here we are.)

I'm not sure I can articulate this but there is something so beautiful to me about it. We as a culture know so little about its origins—maybe the 1870s, maybe the 1880s—or even really why it exists.

Wikipedia (yes I wikipedia'd this, yes I feel actual embarrassment about the lack of academic rigor in this aimless tumblr post but also there is also just not a ton of information on the topic) suggests that some diner lingo might've been mnemonic devices for short order cooks to remember specific dishes but honestly scroll through any list and you'll find it mostly isn't that. What it reads like is bored food service workers, mostly in the 1920s through 1970s, looking for a way to amuse or at least entertain themselves.

Milk is “moo juice.” Jell-o becomes “nervous pudding.” Black coffee is “a mug of murk.”

Western history loves its individual heroes, but my guess is the practice arose organically at multiple luncheon spots across the US. We don't know the names of the servers and cooks who came up with the terms but a few of the terms have survived, in a fashion—as wider used slang (“Joe” for coffee), as a vintage-y affectation in quirky restaurants of the present, and in compendiums of self-consciously useless factoids (oysters wrapped in bacon are transmuted into “angels on horseback”). It's something about the ordinary people of the world of the past, the tiny fossils we leave behind without even knowing it. One unknown day in history, someone then working as a diner employee thought to call a tall stack of pancakes “Jayne Mansfield” because for some reason it made their day a little better, and this somehow caught on to the point where I can, without doing much work, still find multiple written sources insisting it happened. It wasn't a marketer or a CEO somewhere, it was just a bunch service workers passing the time and leaving the slightest little linguistic footprints behind.

I don't know. Imagine if one of your inside jokes from work was still being spread by offbeat trivia lovers a hundred years from now.

your warm body clung to ellie's, your body contorted in some weird way to help the pain of your cramps subside even just a tiny bit. one leg was bent while the other was straight and your back was twisted in a way ellie couldn't believe was comfortable. ellie's favorite part, though, was your head resting on her chest. your face was full of discomfort despite how hard you tried to just ignore the pain in your lower stomach, and back and thighs for some reason. i mean, seriously, why do so many places hurt?

nevertheless, ellie tried her best to comfort you, her balmy hands gliding over your skin to try and hopefully distract you. she traced soothing patterns on your exposed skin. she had ever so kindly put up with your incessant attitude today. you were grateful for her, always there for you in your time of need. your eyes fluttered shut, trying to focus on her hands on your body rather than the agonizing aches.

"you're like a pretzel right now." ellie muttered softly, leaving a small kiss on the top of your head followed by a small laugh. you groaned in response, knowing she was just teasing but you were sensitive right now. "it's not even helping. i just want it to stop." you muttered back, trying to move your back or maybe stretch your leg a little more. just something to get the discomfort to leave your body.

ellie kissed the top of your head again. "i know, baby." she whispered, hoping if she kept her voice peaceful and calm it would somehow make you feel better. "you got this, though." she continued, once again kissing your head. her words were comforting despite the fact the cramps were only getting worse. it felt good to know ellie believed in you. her hand moved down to your abdomen, rubbing the area softly and applying pressure. you sighed, fingers clutching onto the fabric of her shirt.

"tryna rip my shirt off, huh?" she teased, hoping to distract you. you smiled, an improvement to your glares from earlier when she tried to tease you. "there's your pretty smile." ellie complimented. you rolled your eyes and her cheesiness, choosing to just nuzzle yourself closer to her, hugging her body like she was your own personal teddy bear.

No! If they're there gathering information, then they've gotten real off track 😮‍💨 While they could be genuine friends/informants of Diluc (since we know they've been inside the winery before), Diluc sits furthest away and keeps the conversation on Kaeya once the traveler enters the scene

No!! He's not even pretending here sjdjdjdjdj couldn't find a single beverage? No snack? Just saw Kaeya out day drinking and pulled up a seat?

Okay well now the customers are playing their own game of "where's the bartender?" Cause as you can see there's bottles faaaar in the background behind them, and where's Diluc? What I want out of a QSMP season two.

(Some of these points may be a little divisive - it's just my personal opinion. Content creators will be referred to as players for conciseness. QSMP as it has been for the past year, for the sake of this post, will be referred to as "season 1".)

1. TAKE A FUCKING BREAK.

I do not want to see the QSMP coming back in less than two months at the very, very least. Five or six months to a year is ideal, in my opinion.

This is for a few reasons. Firstly, the obvious; I want Quackity Studios to take the necessary time to make 100% sure that everyone who has worked, does work, or will work for them is compensated. Not just this, but I want the communication among the studio to become streamlined and consistent, for the purpose of maintaining the quality of the SMP, the quality of life of the employees, and entirely avoiding a repeat of the previous situation. Any less will be unacceptable, and prove that all people in charge, including and especially Quackity himself, have not learned their lesson.

Secondly, I am very sure that a lot of players will lack or have completely lost their motivation for the QSMP, due to the nature of the last few months of season 1. I am sure that those who had a lot of lore written up and had to scrap it or cut it short are probably still quite sore about it, and may not have the energy to pick the QSMP story back up. This is especially true if they had already given their characters a canon ending and don't want to overshadow it. When creating a new SMP, or a new season of an SMP, you first and foremost need player motivation to be high. Waiting several months would ensure that the wound of player lore being ruined would have mostly healed over by the start of season 2.

Thirdly, viewer engagement will always be an important thing to take into consideration when creating an SMP that will be televised. The large majority of QSMP fans are completely burned out from watching. Leaving a large gap between seasons 1 and 2 would let fans, who have had an exhausting last few months, recover and reset. It will also allow hype and anticipation to build up when things eventually start being teased and announced again. Fans have a lot of disdain for this project at the present moment, and waiting for a while between seasons will not only let fans know that serious action is being taken behind the scenes, but also will let the sour attitude a lot of fans have right now wear off over time.

2. RESET. FOR REAL THIS TIME.

Probably my most controversial take on this topic will be; I fully believe that if a QSMP season 2 is to occur, it should be a completely new server. By completely new I naturally mean a new map, but also ZERO LORE CONTINUATION. I know this is a hot take, but I personally believe QSMP season 2 is a perfect chance for a completely fresh start, and a fresh start cannot happen if it still takes place in the same universe.

We all know that season 1's lore was overwhelming, slightly confusing, and at the end of the day, completely disjointed. We all fell in love with the terrifying Federation and Codes, yes, we all loved the basis of the story; a group of people from different countries get stranded on a "perfect" paradise island controlled by a governmental body that won't let them leave, and have to work together; but at the end of the day, the lore of season 1 became messy. Very messy. Instead of trying again and again to salvage it, the best option is probably to just start again.

Put the same players in a different map, give them a completely different premise, and let the lore unfold anew. Which leads into my next point.

3. PLAYER DRIVEN LORE.

Let the players develop the story. If a player has an overarching storyline they are unfolding themselves, prioritise letting them do so. All of the best lore in season 1 was player created, and player enacted; Cellbit's regret arc, the happy pills, Cellbit's murdering Fed workers arc, literally everything Fit ever did, Roier's lore, ect ect ect. Server admins should only intervene in player's lore when directly asked, and big changes to the server's status quo should only occur when there is no active lore to be interrupted, everyone agrees it should happen, and it would actively drive engagement up, rather than down.

The best case scenario for a QSMP season 2, in my opinion, is for the server admins and Quackity to come up with an exciting and engaging premise for a brand new universe with brand new characters, to place the players in an interesting themed map, and just let them loose. Let the lore build naturally, and see what comes of it.

IN CONCLUSION.

I vehemently disagree with people who believe the QSMP should not have a season 2. The QSMP is a brilliant idea, and its noble goals shine through all of the incredible friendships and memories it, and only it, made. There is no other server like QSMP.

The act of uniting people from all over the world has been proven to be an extremely important and worthwhile goal. I, genuinely, admire Quackity for his passion in this, and for understanding that this thing should not be easily given up on or let go. Drastic changes need to occur, but the QSMP is bigger than just a Minecraft server; it represents so much unity, community, and love.

It is worth saving.

I hope, desperately and for the sake of everyone involved, past future and present, that the QSMP can come back better and stronger than ever, continuing to further its goals; to tell amazing stories, to forge impossible friendships, to spark joy and laughter, and to bring people together no matter the barriers keeping them apart.

I'm gonna attempt to make another post talking about stuff I've seen after q's stream, because I saw people say that the last one I made made them feel better, so here we go:

why is he speaking spanish: this is not something I necesserly saw after yesterday, but I did see it last time he streamed a statement regarding qsmp and the fact that he had to start this stream fucking explaining why he's speaking his native language to formulate what he wants to say better is fucking vile to me and anyone that said that last time does not have a right to stay in this fandom or to even talk about this situation.

he does not have a right to sound mad: i'm sorry, but he has every right to sound frustrated, he is not mad at the admins that choose to leave the project, he explicitly says he understand their decision and wishes them the best, he is frustrated at those that have caused damage to the server in the first place and are still the reason why he can't be more open about what's happening. We are talking about his passion project here, of course he's frustrated that this is happening, even if he completely understands why some admins are leaving.

he is enabling hate against lea and others! (people that have leaked information): quackity has every right to cite the reason as to why he can't openly communicate the way he wants to, especially when those leaks have been twisted and used against him by the people that were initially harming the server in the first place (those he fired). He openly says the he doesn't necesserly think that the people that are leaking stuff are aware of how those leaks are actually being used, so he's not blaming any specific person. Actions have consequences, no one is the exception to this rule in this situation.

he says any criticism is invalid!: no he just straight up doesn't. He says he's not bothered by people that give non-constructive critcism and whose goal is clearly to see the project destroyed. If you feel like this statement is a call out to what you have been saying, then maybe you should reflect on what you actually want here and potentially leave. If you have constructive criticism you want to say, once again keep in mind that quackity does not have twitter on his phone and the best way to commuincate something to him is through his public email.

As quackity himself said multiple times, if you're not happy with how things are going and don't want to wait for visible change it's fine, but do not twist and nitpick stuff because you don't want to step away from something if you don't have a "moral" reason to do so. I said this multiple times, but this is just a shitty fucking situation that does not have an easy and quick solution to it, and people will make decisions or mistakes that you will not like on all sides, it does not mean there is malicious intent behind those decisions. Again, we may not know their names and how many there were, but we know who is actually to blame for all of this and I hope quackity is in the process/is gonna be able to sue them. The admins that choose to leave because of any reason have every right to do so, something that quackity himself also expressed on his stream. It is very possible to support them completely while understanding why things are the way they are, as much as everyone fucking dislikes it.

I genuinely hope qsmp is able to come back stronger, however long it takes, because I personally think this project is good and does not deserve to end this way. Much love to everyone, once again remember to have empathy to everyone.

X-men working in a chain restaurant AU

I will place the x-men in positions just based on my experience in Olive Garden. I also worked in a small family owned restaurant and it was very different but picture a chain restaurant type like Olive garden, Chili's, Applebee's etc.

General manager: Charles, of course. But he's not very actively a part of the day to day. He's the kind of manager who will hide in his office all day being absolutly no help during a rush. However if you're sick or family emergency he'll move things around so you can go home, and his office door is always open to talk. Not the best manager but a good guy so you stick around.

Assistant GM: Not really a thing in OG land but I struggled where to put her. Jean does a lot of the hard stuff Charles won't, like writing up, or HR meetings. She also does all the ordering because Scott messed it up ONE TIME and they didn't have ketchup for a week.. Her and Scott are divorced in this, due to the all around cheating happening. She cheated on Scott, Scott cheated on her. It was a great time. Bobby said it was like his parents were divorcing. Now, Jean is the only smart person here who ISNT sleeping with anyone else. ESO bc the only other person she would be interested in is 💯 RAN THROUGH!!! (Logan)

FOH: Front of house.

FOH manager: Scott.

He's really running most of the show. He's training new hires, doing the schedule, for FOH AND BOH because he doesn't trust anyone else. He's running your food. He's up at the host stand figuring out big parties and if a guest has a problem he's handling it. He's also gonna be protective of his staff. OFC he's a kiss ass even if he thinks the guest is being dumb but if a guest is rude to his servers or inappropriate with a host, he's not tolerating it. Is he sleeping with Emma and still trying to get Jean back? Yes. Leave my son alone.

Bussers:

Wade: Wade was hired as a server but found he was uhhhhhh bad at it (just like me fr) he talked to much to EVERYONE, couldn't stay focused, easily distracted. Wade switched to bussing which they found worked way better. He still can chat and talk while he works, talks up some guests, and instead of needing to focus he is able to thrive in a job that requires you to do many small tasks. His high energy and ADHD works in his favor. He'll still occasionally serve in a pinch.

Alex: Alex busses AND hosts. Hosting he's the only guy, so he's stuck being the men's room bathroom checks every hour. Alex and Wade get in trouble sometimes for talking to each other, but generally a good worker. Alex gets along with almost everyone. technically he shouldn't be working at this branch considering he's a managers brother, but Charles doesn't follow rules.

Servers/ToGo:

Kurt!: Kurt is one of the best servers they have! He's quick (although they had to tell him to stop teleporting because he kept crashing into servers running around. he still does it when safe). He frequently has to be shoed away from the host stand where he's flirting with host or the window where he's flirting with line cooks. Not his fault he's got the rizz. He's got good tips though. He frequently get put in the bar tables because tipsy people LOVE the guy. Kurt is also known to make out in dry storage with whoever at any given time. The village whore. No one can resist the lil guy in his too-tight uniform. He's slept with almost everyone in this place, and yet no one hates him and they come back for more. Does ToGo too, but he's a server trainer so his schedule is pretty full.

Pietro: Lets be honest, he's the best server they have. Fast, handsome. He can dash around without crashing into anyone like Kurt (and sometimes kitty) and with more time saved, the more time he has to charm tables. He's frequently given big parties for this reason. There are sometime issues with him and other people because he is cocky, but not a bad guy. Just sometimes hard to work with. If he has an issue with a table, he WILL tell them they are wrong. Scott has had to smooth thing over once or twice. Will NOT do ToGo because he has to work with too many people. Will not train bc it’s a pay cut: he makes too much serving.

Kitty: Walking through walls helps a lot, although she has been known to walk into dry storage to find Kurt humping someone's leg against a box of garlic salt. Oops. Anyway Kitty is one of the less bubbly or talkative servers but she's charismatic, people like her. Kitty is also cross trained for ToGo, and frequently just walks though walls to take food to cars so she doesn't run into guests (and doesn't feel obligated to hold the door for them). Sometimes Kitty will host for more hours, mostly because Emma wants her to.

Ororo: Ororo is mostly ToGo, but if it's slow she'll take a few tables. Ororo is a service pro, which means she had authority and responsibilities and thank god for that because without her, Scott would simply fall apart. Ororo keeps the ToGo room organized and luckily manages any beef the girls have because god knows while Scott is good at managing people, if faced with 3 arguing 20 year old women he will have a break down.

Hosts:

Emma: Emma works the lunch shift, M-F ONLY. Do not call her on weekends or nights, she will not pick up. Emma does her job, goes home. She's the lead, which means minimal working with costumers and she has a LOT of control over the floor and she WILL tell Scott to fuck off if he tries to hover over her screen, and she has and will again dragged Kurt away from the host stand. However, Emma is extremely competent at her job and very, very protective of the young hosts. You will go months thinking she doesn't like you, only to find her stepping between you and an angry woman who came in with 20 people and no call ahead who is mad she can't get sat right away.

Jubilee: Jubilee is the seater, always. She's gonna take you to your table and chat with you the whole time. Hell, if you seem interested she'll chat with you when she's pre-bussing other tables even! (Emma sent her onto the floor. She was talking too much.). Jubilee is one of the few people who will get people giving compliments about her to the managers that ISNT a server. Scott keeps trying to get her to try server, but Jubilee is happy where she is.

BOH: Back of house

BOH Manager: Remy

Remy has done a little of everything. Again, like Wade, he was hired as a server and did good considering his charm but started learning more and more BOH stuff to get more hours. Eventually he worked his way up and now manages the back. He is the only one who can cool Logan's anger issues, and although he can't actually experiment with food bc it's a chain, he likes to make food for the staff on slower days. No one is going home hungry on his watch. It's an open secret Remy and Rogue are dating, but because he's a manager they technically can't... But Charles looks the other way because they are cute, and frankly, he can't lose a manager and one of his best staff.

Rogue: Jack of all trades. She can do host, dish, line, prep, to go, serve. Only thing is she refuses to bus because she did it for a little bit once to "help out" and got stuck bussing for 2 months. Never again. If Remy is on line she can frequently be found chatting with him through the window, eating fries. Remy will "Mess up" toasted ravioli for her to munch on too. Most people like her because she's friendly and competent but if you piss her off you'll regret it. Logan. Could be a service or culinary pro but she doesn’t want to be a trainer; she gets annoyed fast.

Line cooks

John: John has burnt many dishes trying to cook it faster. He's been there 3 years and still thinks this time will be different. John is flirting with every server that comes to the window, and Bobby about smacks him when he flirts with Kitty, who just wants a side of marinara for table 3. He doesn’t realize they only flirt back bc they want munchies or their food faster. Fire comes in very handy when they need to bring the boiler temp up or light a burner that isn't working. he's the only one without healing powers that doesn't have burn marks.

Bobby: When John flirted with Kitty, he re-froze the chicken he was cooking. Bobby is someone new servers might be a little hesitant with because he is straight up. "Well, why didn't you ring it in like that in the first place?" "They can't get three small sides of Alfredo, Kurt, they just have to buy the boat appetizer." but everyone warms up to him because he's not rude when he says it, just straight forward. Bobby is a culinary pro, which means he's not a manager but he has authority and responsibility, which he does well with.

Sean: Sean does most things BOH, but dish is his preferred area. However, he is a certified trainer so he's often stuck everywhere training the new people. He's patient, more patient than Logan but more focused than Remy. He's a bit of a dad around the place, always asking the younger kids if they've eaten yet, and unlike Remy or John it's not because he's trying to sleep with them. He's just nice. Sometimes he brings cookies or something from walmart. Quieter, people don't know him very well, but friendly enough. he might have a little alcohol in his drinks.

Prep/bread/soup/backup/dish, the rest of BOH stuff that isn't line

Warren: After getting his wings burned TWICE (once was his fault, another time because john was being stupid), Warren moved away from the line, further back. He'll do prep and dish mostly now. He's a bit of a pain, very much "I am the only person at this place that knows how to get things done right" and "this place would fall apart without me." but he's kinda right. Still, if you fuck up or are falling behind, he's gonna step in and help you. More than once a crying Kitty has come to the back saying she forgot to ring in food, and Warren will step onto the line to make it up real fast.

Logan: You thought he'd be a line cook, didn't you? Well. he tried. He made too many servers cry, and got put in the back. Now Logan is ONLY prep. It's fine because if he cuts a finger or burns himself, he heals fast. Logan, despite being scary to most people at start. has a soft spot for the younger ones. When Scott caught Rogue with a full steak dinner that Remy made her, Logan was quick to defend. "What is the charge? Eating a meal? Succulent Chinese meal?" type energy. Scott dropped it. Logan will huff and puff about having to anything that is literally his job and has growled once or twice, but if YOU are mean to one of his favorites, it'll be hell.

Open Letter To Nukapedia

I have been informed me posting to tumblr is being assumed to be me trying to incite shit & assuming bad faith. As this was not my intention, here's the little good faith I have left:

I wrote that last message with the intention of leaving due to finding the situation unconscionable, while on a call with my disabled coauthor and friends who were equally as distressed as I was that someone like that had been not only allowed back into the server, but had been allowed to claim they had not said anything eugenicist. I then went to leave the sever only to discover it was no longer in my list - meaning I'd been banned before I could even leave. And then I had to learn the reason for my ban from a third party.

So my assumption was Not GreatTM. I was a little emotionally compromised! Let me elaborate as to why:

That user had called disabled children an 'empty resource sink' and a detriment to society in response to an ongoing conversation (one that I freely admit I had gotten frustrated with - what appeared at the time & what I am now almost certain was - sealioning - and thus been rude, and apologized for that) where I was attempting, in good faith, to explain contemporary fight for disability rights in the United states. I had previously mentioned IN SPECIFIC growing up autistic and seeing the murder of fellow autistic children being called 'mercy killings'. This user had previously in the course of this conversation specifically mentioned 'high functioning conditions' such as Asperger's being different from ones they considered debilitating.

(Its notable that this diagnosis has since folded into ASD, and with the name being considered controversial due to being named after Hans Asperger.)

This user then said that the 'mercy' of 'allowing' some people who 'could not function' to die was morally correct TO THE FACE OF A SPECED AUTISTIC PERSON WHO HAD JUST MENTIONED PEOPLE LIKE THEM BEING KILLED SPECIFICALLY.

From my perspective this is not even a fucking dog whistle, it is a whistle at best, more like a bullhorn. It is full on mask off 'actually people (who you say are like you) SHOULD die, if they cant ~contribute~'. It is directly saying people like me & my coauthor are justifiable losses. It is rhetoric which has directly killed people like me in recent memory.

It is so viscerally horrifying and evil of a rhetoric that I immediately felt their restored presence was an allowance. Even this I might have taken in good faith - except they (and the user supporting them) had Literally Stated What They Said Was Not Eugenicist. A mod Saw This, said 'drop the topic' - it is not a topic to drop, from your own commented policy after the first incident and for the safety of others, it is a instant ban situation - and moved on silently. From my perspective this was a giant red flag saying 'this is now a eugenicist bar'.

I am not exactly inclined to extend good faith when the fact is, we are currently in a wave of ableism rhetoric from the transphobic alt right especially against autistic and mentally ill people.

A former US president is well known for having mocked Serge Kovaleski's disability, and when then-12-year-old JJ Holmes protested this, he encouraged his followers to harass them, resulting in people shoving the boys wheelchair & sexually harassing his mother. Autism Speaks spokespersons talked about wanting to murder their children while they were still in the room. Dr. Phil openly platformed the attempted killer & mother of Izzy Stapleton just 10 years ago. We still face organ transplant discrimination, immigration discrimination, and we STILL to this day are being tortured in ABA 'therapy' that is based on the same attitudes that Ivar Lovaas's applied in his 'Feminine Boys Project', a series of abusive conversion tactics which led to the suicide of Kirk Murphy - a 'doctor' who once said "[autistics] are not people in the psychological sense."

That same former president was just alleged by his nephew to have said "Those people [...] The shape they’re in, all the expenses, maybe those kinds of people should just die."

How am I SUPPOSED to assume, in this political climate, good faith from 'empty resource sink' being allowed to be defended in any capacity, as a disabled person? Or hell, just as a person with disabled friends & loved ones. As a human being.

It is not that I am extending bad faith to your platform, I do not feel safe on your platform.

My coauthor did not feel safe enough to join your platform, my girlfriend would not feel safe on your platform, my friends do not feel safe on your platform. My THERAPIST read these messages and recommended I do not ever come back to your platform! I did not post on tumblr with the intention of causing problems but of protecting fellow disabled people from harm.

I have OCD & actively avoid posting issues outside of private chats because I have severe paranoia about being part of internet pile-ons in any capacity, to the point I STILL have avoided showing any user names or profile pictures. Yet this was still such an egregious situation that I felt I would be actively allowing people to come to harm if I didn't speak up.

I am not returning to the discord. I no longer feel comfortable talking about disability or queer representation in fallout in a space where people brushed off that rhetoric, and acted like it was an overreaction to be horrified - even momentarily. I am frankly unsure if I would feel safe even if everyone who did so was banned.

If you genuinely think I am overreacting, acting in bad faith - understand this comes from TWO DECADES of seeing people like me killed by caretakers every day and then hearing THAT & seeing people defend it.

Hi. This is Ren, second author of Caldera and multiply disabled young adult. I proofread and editted this post as well as being present during a lot of this situation - either from being the person Cilantro stepped back to when they recognized they were getting emotionally intense about a situation or being on call with them during the incident in question, and I want to make some things clear.

I am absolutely Furious at the way my peers and loved ones have been treated during this time. Both directly in nukapedia itself and in the, haha, fallout that has followed.

You might ask why I have not been directly involved if I feel so strongly about it, the answer is simple. My absence Was an attempt at good faith. Through Cilantro's talks on what the atmosphere was like, I learned there would almost definitely be situations that lead me to feeling defensive, stressed and frustrated- emotions I admit to struggling to process. So I made the executive decision that I did not feel I could safely belong there and stayed to the sidelines.

Cilantro has never claimed perfection- and has multiple times apologized for allowing emotional reactions to lash into conversations and stepped away. And it is infurating to see their (and several other of our peers and friends) characters attacked like this. Own up to your own failures in protecting your members, or it will not be just our trust you have lost.

Summary: Aemond was angry when he heard of the news of his betrothal. He didn't want to marry, especially not someone he assumed to be a spoiled princess who only wanted his name. 

Aemond was absolutely furious. 

His mother would let him marry a princess who isn't even a Targaryen. 

Unheard of!

She must have gone insane!

"It is for the best. Her family has a great reputation and it will ensure a good future for you and for our family." Alicent argued. 

But Aemond didn't want to hear any of it. He was furious.

Every breakable object in his room was now completely destroyed.

No one dared to enter his room. 

He picked up another vase and threw it against the wall. The water in it and the flowers flying everywhere.

"A pureblood prince like me, marrying some Princess from a land... disgusting! How can Mother think this is a good idea?!" there was a knock on his door. "Who is it?!" he yelled, but as his mother came into his room, Aemond sank back into his chair.

"Aemond, throwing a tantrum will not change my or your father's mind. As I have explained, this marriage is important to the family. And it is final."

said Alicent before she left the room. Two servers arrived to clean the room while the Prince headed outside for some fresh air.

Aemond knew you were in the castle.

His bride arrived and he refused to go meet her. 

Like a stubborn child he sat in his room. His mother had to make up an excuse about him wanting it to be a surprise to meet with his bride.

Aemond was still fuming. He couldn't be reasoned with. He knew his duties and he knew he should have expected this to happen, yet he was still extremely against this arranged marriage.

Knowing that tomorrow he would be married to this stranger, to this woman he didn't even want to see... it disgusted him.

You on the other hand were excited.

You heard many great things about House Targaryen, and you were thrilled to be handed to such a prince.

You were sad that upon your arrival, Prince Aemond wasn't present, but his brother was, and he was handsome enough. 

Of course, initially, when your mother informed you of this marriage, you weren't so happy, but you also knew your duties.

And tomorrow, you will be married to Prince Aemond.

The next day started off rather hectic. You were washed and dressed for what seemed like hours.

But the servants talked.

They always talked.

And you heard many things about Prince Aegon, and Prince Aemond. Their description of the family wasn't even close to how people saw the family outside the castle.

According to them, Aegon was nothing but a drunk who enjoyed women way too much. To the point where a young servant had to leave the castle. And Aemond was a cold person with only one eye. Aparently both princes were jealous of the other. Aegon wished for his mother's love as much as Aemond wished for the crown. 

As you heard the girls talk, you smirked, because of course they weren't as perfect as they made it out to be! Of course, Queen Alicient played her part.

You weren't sure what a family with Dragons would want from yours though. 

The only thing your Kingdom had were great soldiers, but surely dragons were better.

Your thought was cut short when your dress was finally on. You looked at yourself as one girl put the veil over your face.

"You look lovely Princess!" all of them said and you smiled and thanked them.

Aemond stood proud as he awaited his bride.

His anger was still not gone, but he managed to calm himself a little bit.

After his mother introduced him to the King and Queen, Aemond was ready to get this day over with.

Soon, his Princess was standing next to him as you both made your vows.

Aemond now moved to remove your veil and as he lifted it, his eye locked with yours. You had a smile on your face.

The first thought that ran through his head was how absolutely beautiful you were. Your bright smile seems to have filled the room.

He leaned down and placed a quick kiss on the corner of your lips before you were officially pronounced wife and husband.

Aemond's mind was filled with you. Your face, hair, dress, how soft your skin was, how amazing your lips felt against his, as he ran his finger over his lips, he could swear he still felt it.

And just how beautiful your eyes were, he nearly got lost in them for too long.

Aemond rolled his eyes at his brother who was already drunk. 

Aemond looked around the people, his mother speaking with yours but speaking of who. 

Where were you?

Did you already run away with another man?

Aemond decided to get some fresh air and he headed to the gardens where he knew it would be quiet. 

And to his surprise, after turning a corner, he found you.

Sitting on a bench in your nice dress.

Aemond had to be honest, you were absolutely stunning. 

But then, as you looked up, you noticed him.

"Oh, My Prince. I apologise for disappearing. I am, unfortunately, not a big fan of crowds and loud noises." you stood up as he watched you bow your head.

"I, myself, also came to get some peace and quiet." he admitted as he walked closer to you. "Please, sit down if you wish." and you did, while offering a small smile to him.

"I'm rather nervous, My Prince."

"Why?" Aemond sat down next to you on the stone bench.

"Oh, it's... I found you very charming and handsome." Aemond could see the slight embarrassment on your face.

"I also found you quite beautiful." Aemond surprised himself with his confession. But he didn't regret it.

Because as soon as he saw your eyes light up due to his compliment, a certain warmth filled him.

You smiled and looked away from him, slightly turning in your embarrassment. 

"You are too kind, Prince Aemond." the way you said his name, sent a shiver down his back. It made him feel so powerful yet so weak. He felt like he could fight a thousand battles and win. But he also felt like if you asked him so sweetly to do something, he would do it without hesitation. "I can only imagine how disappointing it is for a Prince of your status to marry someone like me."

"Why would you say that?" he asked rather confused but you still refused to look at him, he could see you playing with your fingers.

"All my family has is... a great coast and good soldiers. I'm no special like a Targaryen Princess. So, I would apologise for the disappointment." 

The words you spoke were the same he thought before he saw you.

Before his eye met yours. 

"I assumed, yesterday you didn't come to meet me and my family was due to your eyepatch, I thought you must have felt like I would be scared. I promise I'm not scared. I have seen worse injuries. But then I realized when the servants were talking that you might feel angry for having to marry me." Aemond stayed quiet but only for a moment as he didn't want to raise your insecurities further.

"I am not one to lie. I was rather angry when my mother told me the news. But then I saw you today, and now believe that I don't deserve an angel like you. You look so pure and kind, while I'm... the exact opposite."

"I don't know you enough to say no to that, I'm afraid. But my mother raised me to become a good wife for someone one day. And now that I'm your wife, I wish to show you love and care. I don't desire a cold marriage." you whispered the last part and it made Aemond grab your shoulder softly and turn you towards him.

Aemond was admittedly lost for words. All he could do was look into your eyes and with a simple kiss to your lips he promised to try his best to become the husband you deserve.

I've seen a lot of demon Branzy. And I really like it. One thing is in s5 when he got 4c and Mystic in debt to him. I imagine he just had them sell their souls. Did they realize at the time that's what he was doing? Maybe maybe not. Can't stop it now

But even as a demon. That seemed pretty simple for him to do. Maybe he has experience. Like the fact he did on another server sell Kab's soul to another person via a flower.

So I raise you. Branzy while not a threat on LifeSteal is absolutely more of a threat than the server knows when he's not on there. As LifeSteal being a mix from maybe humans? Maybe. And full demons and such. Has very strict magic rules

Branzy however is a threat from the fact he's a very old demon with many souls. If anyone went with him to hell they would see a much different Branzy as it takes a certain type of way to keep so many souls in line. Some of them you'll see even look broken. Because they are. If he can't get them under control with commands and rules he'll break their souls. He doesn't like to. But he will.

I also like to imagine Vitalasy long before LifeSteal sold his soul to Branzy when desperate. And is one of the only members to know this other side. He has deliberately hidden it from everyone including Clown. Though prior to them leaving LifeSteal. Branzy and Vitalasy agreed as long as Vitalasy does what's expected in hell as one of Branzy's most trusted souls. He doesn't mess with the deal at all on LifeSteal. Part of the reason Vitalasy is so trusted is that unlike the other souls if he pulls something Branzy would have been able to find him on the server eventually.

Also yes Vitalasy did have a mini freakout after Branzy's betrayal for Clown worried he'd go back on their agreement for the way of the soul. But physically couldn't say anything. It greatly worried Subz.

theyre soo silly theyre just silly little guys who do things like mining an entire chunk in the center of the server's spawn for their own entertainment and to annoy everyone else

They are PATHETIC. They are ANNOYING. They are PERFECT. They are playing on three hearts and they die so much. They have a specialized raid platform that is NOT a raid farm. They are a team against exploits! Their base has 3 hearts above it representing them

these guys decided to put love and fun above all on the killing-lying server. while watching other teams betray and fall apart they have stuck with each other till the very last day of the server and never doubted one another. they worked like a clockwork, they knew they could only rely on themselves and at the end of the day, they didnt mind that it was that way

these guys got the short end of the stick time and time again throughout all of lifesteal s4, they were the targets of so many traps and attacks for no reason other than they were weak and always around. and despite it all they never wanted revenge and never held grudges! they cared about fun and friendship more than anything else, and while all the other teams ended up falling apart or betraying each other, these three stuck together from start to end. they didn't care about how many hearts they had, how much gear they had, or how powerful they were, because in the end all they needed was each other <3 i miss them so bad btw

Eclipse Federation:

i dont like them. they ruined my life. Subz and Vitalasy had already partnered in previous seasons but this one, Vitalasy ended up leaving for a few months, leaving Subz alone, and Zam ended up getting close to him after immense trauma at the hands of his former teammates. Zam has done SO many wrongs, including to Subz himself and Subz STILL took him in and made him join Eclipse Federation after Zam died 14 times in a row and got banned then revived by the same player who's been killing him all this time. And it could've been perfect but no, Zam had betrayed his previous team due to them using dupes via exploits, and now Eclipse Federation ALSO has exploits! And he decided that yeah his morals were more important than being loved! And so he murders Vitalasy when he's at his most vulnerable point, lets everyone gaslight him into thinking Vitalasy is an irredeemable evil monster who will never change, even as Vitalasy SAID he was ready to change before the betrayal even happened, Eclipse threw out their whole revenge plans because of Zam's positive influence and he just broke everything. Subz couldn't be with Zam but also couldn't see himself at Vitalasy's side, leaving him alone. Vitalasy hated Zam and yet never killed him or hunted him down, despite Zam acting like he did. And when Vitalasy left, banning himself off from the server, Zam had some time alone to think and realized he fucked up SOOOO bad. And Subz revived Vitalasy and told him to kill him. And ban him. His last wish. His Deliverance. And to make up with Zam. And Vitalasy tried, and they kind of did make up over Subz's death, but then Zam was like "actually im going to kill everyone and destroy the server now. because i want subz back and also because i always do extremely drastic things when i don't need to because i have unchecked mental illnesses i refuse to get help for". And surprisingly when Subz came back he didn't like that! And they ended in tragedy! Eclipse is fucked up. It's a trio that's always about the absence of one person, it's a team that could only happen in one timeline and it was doomed from the very start. But the love was there. It made everything worse, truthfully. But it was there. And that matters. Also as a fun fact Zam himself on twitter has referred to eclipse as a throuple, which is not canon but that's pretty funny. he also stated on stream he didn't want to get therapy because it'd ruin his lifesteal character. and there was a saga where they would "marry" (challenge lost kinda shenanigans) and zam was the only one happy about it. he's not normal. there's something wrong with him. love that for him though sorry for the block of text. I really dislike them. They're my beloveds :3

I would say to me Kakucho comes off as someone who needs to be given a reason in order to function in life. In canon, this purpose would be given to him by Izana, which would be to serve him as a king, but when Izana leaves the orphanage to go with Shinichiro and then to run the Black Dragons, Kakucho is once more left without a purpose.

It wouldn't seem like a big deal at first, but slowly as the months drag on, this boy would find himself simply drifting through life, pretty much detached from the ongoings around him - there's nothing for him to really focus on besides physical training now that Izana was busy without him, and Kakucho himself doesn't have any particular goals that he is chasing except to server Izana. Of course, this all changes when he meets you.

You are no doubt a very headstrong person, someone who has no qualms doing whatever you like whenever you like, and would not back down on things that you believe in. And you also treated this boy to a lunch after he helped you beat up a bunch of bullies even though you didn't need the help, because you appreciated it anyway. Kakucho isn't a very trusting person to begin with because of his difficult childhood, but you definitely managed to sway his first opinion of you with that simple act of asking for nothing more.

Very selective with how much information he shares about himself, and you were the same, though you did manage to dig out that Kakucho didn't really have anyone else to spend time with, and so you invited him to hang out with you if he was up for it, saying that he was welcome to join your friend group for study sessions. On the other side of being so stubborn, what Kakucho saw was that you were also just an average student with an average number of friends, and leading a very normal life. You were kind yet stubborn, loved your friends and loved hanging out, and when Kakucho did hesitantly take up your offer for the first time, he fell head over heel for the chance at leading a very normal life, a chance to forget the harsh past he came from.

It helps that the more time he spent with you, the more he felt that he had a new purpose, a new person to serve, especially given how stubborn you were, and there he started his slip into yandere tendencies - you were, after all, the one that gave him another chance at life, a chance to be normal. And Kakucho would cling to that with the same vigour with which he would later cling to Izana. Extremely, extremely loyal, you can always count on this boy being there for whatever you need no matter the time of day. Starts slowly with offering to run and grab coffee for you "on his way" to a study session, and then would turn up outside your house to walk you to school, which would quickly turn into Kakucho offering to do any of your house chores.

All the while he slowly increases the pressure on your friend group to leave you alone, increasingly isolating you from everyone else so that he could keep you to himself. You only needed him after all, you didn't need anyone else - and you needed to focus on him so that he could serve you wholeheartedly. Would absolutely allow you to do anything to him without complaint, and yes, that includes putting bows even though he barely keeps any hair. You wanna hold his hand, sure! You want to dance with him in public, say no more. Want him to run to the other side of town to buy you a slice of cake at the break of dawn because it always runs out? Do you even need to ask?

Once he starts actively trying to keep you and your friends apart is when he starts to dagger glare everyone else around you, but that is as much as he would do when you are present. Because a servant deals with his royalty's issues silently and out of sight. Still a sweet boy at heart, he wouldn't throw hands except when he deems it absolutely necessary - in his mind, he doesn't want to keep you from your friends, no way. He craves the normality that you lent him with your presence and your way of life, but these people aren't your friends. All they do is sabotage you, drag you down, keep you from shining.

He would find you better friends.

Pleases Kakucho greatly that when Izana finally returned to him, and he found that you were indeed compatible and could exist side by side with his king with little conflict. He could serve two royals at the same time of course, but it would be so much easier if the two of you didn't overlap and cross each other - he didn't want to have to pick sides. Would introduce you to the rest of Tenjiku the moment he thinks its safe enough because these people are much better friends than those so-called scum from your school.

No lie, the day you first introduce him as your BFF, I think Kakucho would just melt away from happiness. Izana would be extremely amused.

START telling me about Liam I'll throw up/pos

oh dude dude so liam is kyles younger brother and theyre very close. liam is a pretty nice, easygoing, kinda nerdy but friendly guy who’s had an interest in things like cryptids, aliens, magic, etc from a young age. kyle quickly follows in this interest and they spend a lot of time ‘monster hunting’ in the woods (taking cool photos, practicing bigfoot calls, etc). kyle cares for him a lot and is always looking out for him as an older brother, even if he’s a little reckless and unhinged at times. liam can sometimes be that voice of reason that keeps kyle from doing anything too crazy (and now look at how well kyle is faring without liam to keep him grounded)

liam always did much better in school. kyle is the problem child who skips class and doesn’t pay attention, but liam had great grades and was set to go to college for computer science. kyle doesn’t think very highly of himself, not in a pity-party way but mote of an acceptance? he thinks simply, “im not a great guy, im not good at school and idk what i want a carreer in. my brother is super smart and has a lot of potential, it’s my role to focus on helping him thrive”. looks out for liam, drives him to school, etc.

sidenote kyle’s car is full of marker doodles on the interior and anyone who rides in it can draw on the insides. the passenger seat is full of liam doodles of green ufos and cute aliens and stuff. the car is also named Charizard.

i think kyle is selfless in a stubborn way that ropes back around to selfishness. kyle is so loyal that he would put himself in harms way to protect someone he cared about in an instant. but this isn’t necessarily a Good thing - when you’re an older brother or a role model or any instance of being looked up to, you have a responsibility to take care of yourself too and he is severely lacking in this department. liam is 17 when he goes missing and i don’t think kyle has fully grasped just how mature liam is at this point. liam is worried for kyle and kyle has no idea.

liam goes missing in March of 2009. The campaign begins in September of 2009, 6 months later. this is just enough time that people are beginning to move on from the tragedy, except kyle of course, who refuses to move on/go back to school/get a job until he finds the truth. he puts missing person posters up all over town. he leaves ominous graffiti criticizing the police and reminding the town that people go missing here & no one cares. also another Fun Sidenote is that because liam goes missing in march, he misses his 18th birthday (june 18. hes a cancer i consider these things) and his high school graduation. alexa play wake me up when september ends (i dont think kyle can listen to this song). ever since the disappearance kyle gets nightmares once every week or two i think

hm what else oh yeah so in our discord server for the campaign we have 1-on-1 text channels with the other members where we can roleplay text conversations our characters may have between sessions. i asked jinx for a channel for kyle and liam where kyle can text liam telling him about his adventures and all of his cool new friends who are going to help him find him. liam doesn’t reply of course- wherever he’s gone he clearly doesn’t have access to his cell phone or else the mystery would have been solved a Lot quicker. but i think kyle and liam, despite both having friends in school, were always a little bit of the town weirdos that were way more into fantasy stuff than anyone else. so i think when kyle bonds with the party, he’s happy to have other magic weirdos around him for once, but it also eats him up inside to think about how much liam would like his new friends too. the party visits a cool magical library at some point and kyle has a moment where he just Stares at it all and thinks about how much he would love it. their mother is a librarian and they definitely spent a lot of their childhood running around the library playing & reading while she worked.

something crazy we realized is that every member of the party has a four-letter name (kyle, edie, vera, bill) and also is associated with colors in an order (red, pink, purple, blue). liam’s name also has four letters and his associated color is green. its a spooky coincidence that emphasizes that this person should be here, and their abscence is felt.

One thing about yesterday’s stream, I know people are sad that 4halo (still don’t have a duo name) had a minor fight/falling-out due to Forever’s (JUSTIFIED) paranoia. But. I want to make one thing clear as a BBH main:

Bad did NOT mean to withhold any information from Forever. To my knowledge, he has never purposefully refused an opportunity to share important information with Forever, not even when he was worried about Forever’s mental health in the aftermath of Cellbit’s betrayal (he never got the chance to withhold anything lmao).

The problem here is not that Bad is keeping secrets from Forever, he really isn’t. Forever is being trusted more than I think he’s aware of, because he doesn’t realize that everyone else other than him knows next to nothing about Bad (with the exception of Foolish). Forever was the only person that - at least in spirit - had full, unrestrained access to Bad’s secret-est secret base up until Foolish also gained permission to enter recently. And he’s still the only person that Bad has ever allowed into Dapper’s private enderpearl stasis chamber room. Now I know that Bad broke the waystone pillar and therefore Forever lost his ability to enter, but he didn’t do it on purpose!

Bad is distracted, Bad is busy, Bad is constantly being pulled in a lot of different directions by a lot of different people a lot of the time. The only reason Forever doesn’t currently have access to Bad’s home is because he just hasn’t had a solid chance to take him there; and when he does have a chance, he doesn’t remember. Because, again, he’s kind of dealing with a lot right now please leave a message he’ll get back to you later and also did I mention he’s raising a child (and several other peoples’ children sometimes) all by himself?

Same issue today: Bad knows almost everything about almost everyone. And while part of that is because he’s prone to spying - an undeniably large part of it is also because almost everyone on the server trusts him enough to constantly drag him into lore whenever he appears. If you don’t watch Bad’s streams, you maybe wouldn’t know it - but some days it’s a fairly constant stream of “Hey Bad, can you come here?”

“Bad, we need to talk”

“Bad, I need you for something.”

“Bad, can we meet somewhere private? I have an extremely lore-heavy secret that I want to tell you - but you can’t tell anyone else or I will hate you eternally and kill you and curse your bloodline and never trust you again. Thanks, say hi to Dapper for me!” <- (that might be an exaggeration but you get my point)

Like. It’s a lot to stay on top of for one man, and sometimes Bad is gonna slip. Sometimes he’s not going to remember what information he needs to tell everyone, and what information he needs to take to his grave. Sometimes he’s gonna assume Forever already knows about a semi-well-known bit of important information. And, yes, sometimes his assumptions will be wrong; but he is being as open as he possibly can be with Forever.

Not to mention, just like Forever, Bad is also famously paranoid. He also has trust issues. It’s not exactly easy for him, either. But he’s trying, he really is trying. And Forever has a right to get upset about not being told information, but that doesn’t mean he’s right about Bad withholding information on purpose.

This is to say: Bad and Forever have a lot in common in terms of what they’ve been through and I don’t think they realize how much they trust each other.

TLDR; RIP to my man Q!Forever but Q!BBH has not done a single thing wrong in his entire life.

I'm pretty? sure I might have blocked you on an old account when some femboy discourse stuff was going here and left your server that you had at the time? Like I did finally confirm it was you we were remembering because I know I bought a pinkie pie kandi bracelet from you off etsy (not sure if before or after the disc horse, bc we're very much a "everyone deserves to be able to survive and should not lose access to support no matter what") which for the record we love.

And like it wasn't personal, at worst we may have made a vent post at the time bc it's an identity important to us and literally no judgement whatsoever

But the reason we're even bringing it up is that we kinda feel guilty for the block even though we know it's okay to block anyone at anytime for any reason, especially since now that we saw you feel differently we're just interacting like normal and stuff

which... tbf might be trauma-related ocd from some OTHER like actually really bad internet Tumblr discourse stuff but yeah uh. I think it would help to apologize even if it's not necessary, because that's been a healthy coping mechanism for us in the past (not a compulsive one, the compulsion is more "you should never talk to them again bc you're evilbad and they don't deserve to have to interact with you") so uh, we're sorry and we think you're cool and would love to interact more and be friends (if that's not overly parasocial ahhhh x'D)

hey, that's okay, you're allowed to block people for your own safety. i don't keep track of who does and doesn't have me blocked. if someone wants to block me, that's their right, it don't take it personally. you do not have to apologize for blocking me at any point. that's not something you ever have to apologize to someone for, but i totally get why you would want to do that to give yourself some form of closure. that makes sense to me

i understand why you would've blocked over that. when i was running that server, i was friends with some very aggressive people who were adamant on policing the usage of the word femboy, so i apologize that things got so shitty about that. other staff members that were involved were very, very pushy and i ended up feeling extremely alienated from that server because i found myself disagreeing with a lot of the rules that got put into place. i especially started feeling uncomfortable because other staff members were very transandrophobic and it was causing me a lot of self hatred for being a trans man at the time. that discord server was not good for my mental health, which is why i stopped interacting with it before leaving altogether.

it took me a while to realize i did not agree with those people and that the fighting over who "gets" to use the term is so fucking petty and stupid, but i see it now and that shit was dumb. i can see why you would've been upset and left and blocked over that. at the time, plenty of people were mad about it and they had every right to be. i wasn't treating certain people right. i left that server a while back because i just got so tired of how it was being run and did not have the energy to try to rectify it due to homelessness and housing insecurity at the time. it was way too authoritarian in terms of who was allowed to identify as certain terms for me to continue to give it my stamp of approval. it was like, the exact opposite of what i wanted in a queer discord server.

thank you, though, i appreciate it. i know that this won't make the thoughts stop but you truly are allowed to block whoever you want or need to for your own safety. it's not a personal attack on them. it's a way to prevent unnecessary conflict. i fully believe in blocking when and where necessary. i block when i need to, too. but thank you so much, i appreciate it. i apologize for how shitty i was in the past about people using that term. i got pulled into the wrong crowd and i'm very glad i'm not a part of that anymore.
