I remember being homeless n on dope in NC before I fully left for awhile. This song kept the fire inside me going. The fire that told me to leave home to begin with. I knew no matter how hard it was then, I was free. And that's what I wanted, right? ♡

Torture
*Disclaimer, I don't own any of the characters but I do own the plot*
I hope you enjoy the story
-Z.Z Loch
"Levy!"
A blonde-haired girl was waving her arms violently calling over her best friend, who was on the other side of the gym talking to her boyfriends. "LuLu!" The small girl waved back, the boy she was talking to had walked away. Levy ran up the bleachers to get to the blonde and the other bluenette sitting next to her. The two girls hugged and sat down. "Hi, Juvia" Levy waved at the shy girl. "Hello Levy" she waved back. Juvia looked down at her watch. "Shoot, Juvia has to go, have fun tonight."
"Make sure they end up together" Lucy laughed.
"Will do" the bluenette smiled
"Gray-Sama, remember, tomorrow, the fair, 9 am" A dark-haired boy rolled his eyes and turned around to face his girlfriend, smirking
"Who do I bring again?" Gray asked
"Lyon-sama, and no 'forgetting' him this time."
"Fine, see you tomorrow" Gary waved to his girlfriend
"Gajeel-Kun" Juvia said popping out from behind the doorway
"Yeah, Sprinkler"
"Do NOT Kill anyone, when Juvia is not around."
"Okay, You can help."
"Gajeel-Kun!" Juvia stomped her foot. Gajeel laughed at the angry female.
"Yeah, Yeah, go have your goddamn sleepover," Gajeel said dismissing her
"Bye Boys" Juvia waved goodbye to the team then ran outside
The team waved back, some staring at her. Gray glared "Let's get back to work," he said grabbing everyone's attention from his girlfriend. "Hey Stripper, Last time I checked I'm the team captain" a blonde-haired boy commented. "No one cares Sparky."
As the boys continued to practice (So Gray and Natsu fighting pulling Gajeel in, Jellal trying to calm the situation, Leo saying he's pretty to fight, Laxus and Bickslow laughing at the 'Idiots,' and Freed shaking his head in embarrassment) The two best friends sitting on the bleachers continued to talk
"We Should watch Horror movies."
"No those are scary."
"Karaoke?"
"You know I can't sing."
Lucy rolled her eyes "Anime" she said knowing that's the only thing her friend would watch
Levy's eyes lit up. "Yesssssss, don't be mad you know you like it."
"I just need to know why he doesn't play the piano anymore, and I do not like it."
"Sure"
"If I watch anime you need to do something for me."
"What," Levy said suspiciously
"You need to convince Gajeel to go on a date with you."
"What's the catch?"
"You take him on a date, and I'll bring Natsu, and we have a Double Date."
"Noooooooooo, They'll fight the entire time."
"Please" Lucy begged of her small friend
"Fine" Levy said she knew she would regret this later.
"We'll work on the details tonight, just text him and tell him you guys are going on a date and to meet him at the Mini Golf course."
"Fine"
As the two discussed the details, their boyfriends were finishing up practice. "What are they planning this time?" Natsu wondered to himself as he was walking into the locker room "They could just be you know, Talking" Gajeel commented sarcastically. "I just hope it's not another double date."
"Me too."
"What's so bad about double dates," Gray asked, while he and his girlfriend had been dating for a while she didn't like to go out resulting in not a lot of dates.
"Well it depends if your friends it's ok but if you hate the other person" Natsu Glared at the punk talking to Laxus. " It doesn't normally go well."
"I almost strangled him last time."
"Why" Laxus inquired
"He was bein a dick."
"Good reason" Laxus rolled his eyes
"Why do you care what a double date is like, it's not like Juvia likes to go outside."
"Apparently she does now." Gray sighed "She's making me bring Lyon to the amusement park with us, and I think she's bringing a friend. But her friend and Lyon aren't dating."
"She's probably bringing Meredy" Gajeel commented
"How do you know?"
"Spend a week stuck in a hotel with her, while your parents talk about business. You have no idea how much she rants about Meredy and Lyon being a cute couple and just couples in general."
"Try dating the school's matchmaker" Laxus commented.
"Try hearing about how her friend did this, and that means they did this, and on and on, I swear Lucy could talk for a year non-stop."
The boys continue to bicker over whose girlfriend/friend was worse when it came to shipping their classmates, the girls were fangirling, over well, shipping.
"And Juvia told me she's setting up Meredy and Lyon tomorrow."
"Cute" Levy squealed "I heard Mira is setting up her brother with Laxus's friend."
"Ahhh"
The fangirling continued until the boys came out of the locker room and Laxus ran off to help with the lighting for the play, and Jellal ran off to make sure Meredy was with Juvia.
"Shrimp!"
"Ugh, What"
"Where are you going?" Her nosy boyfriend asked
"Lucy's."
"Okay"
"Where are you going?"
"RR, I have a planning meeting for a music video, then to the motorbike track."
"Nice"
Elsewhere
"Luce!"
"Hey Natsu" Lucy waved at her boyfriend
"Can I take you home."
"Sorry, Natsu, Levy and I have a sleepover."
"Awwww" Natsu pouted
"Hey, we can hang out tomorrow. Don't forget EV Mini-Golf Course, 1:00, PM not AM."
"Okay" Natsu Brightened up
Just then Levy and Gajeel walked out of the school. Levy ran towards Lucy's car and jumped in. "Come on, Let's go."
Natsu, seeing his brother kissed Lucy on the cheek and ran to 'talk to' aka annoy his brother. Gajeel walked towards his dad's company's headquarters
At Lucy's House
"Hello Mrs. Heartfilia, Mr. Heartfilia"
"Hey Mom, Dad"
"Good afternoon girls" The Heartfilia household was very prestigious and formal.
"Wash up, dinner will be ready at 5:30" Layla Heartfilia told the two 16-year-old girls
"Yes ma'am" Lucy ran upstairs dragging her small friend up the stairs and pulled the girl into her room.
"So, how are you and Gajeel."
"We're fine."
"What about you and Natsu."
"He was talking to Lisanna, and I don't know if she was flirting with him or they were just talking."
"They're childhood friends right?"
"Yeah"
"So why would she flirt with him? if she liked him she would have done that a long time ago."
"Because they were more compatible then him and me."
"I don't think so, Juvia was telling me Lisanna has a secret boyfriend, and she was going to ask Natsu how to be a good girlfriend. Also, Natsu clearly loves you so he would never cheat on you."
"First of all, That's true. Secondly, Aww, That's cute. Who's the guy?"
"Juvia wouldn't say, but I'm guessing Freed" (Spoiler Alert: It's not)
"They would be so cute together."
"LUCY GET DOWN HERE"
"Yes Father"
1 hour later
The girls were sitting in Lucy's room gossiping
"Oh, wait did you ask Gajeel to meet you tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I asked him, He said yes."
"Oh perfect!" Lucy said clapping her hands together
Levy rolled her eyes. "You know they are just going to kill each other, right?"
"Maybe they'll get along this time," Lucy said shrugging.
"That's as likely as Natsu and Gray never fighting again."
"Fair, What movie do you want to watch?" Lucy asked holding up a bunch of movies. "MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS!" Levy screamed grabbing the movie case and running to the TV and putting in the movie. Lucy rolled her eyes at her friend's obsession with mystery and old books. "Fine, even though we've watched that like 12 times" Levy looked at her friend "Your Point," she said very seriously. The rest of the night was spent gossiping, teasing each other, laughing, and watching movies (mostly anime)
*The Next Morning*
"Levy! Get up" Lucy screamed in her best friends ear. "It's 11 am" Lucy was running around her room trying to find an outfit for their double date. "Calm down, we told them to meet us at 1," Levy said rubbing her eyes, trying to wake up and calm down her panicked friend. "Oh, right" Levy sighed she was finally calm. "Now let's go eat and then get dressed."
*Time skip to 1 pm*
Natsu nervously stood outside the golf course waiting for his girlfriend, she was never late. Then he showed up. Gajeel Redfox was walking towards him "What the hell are you doing here?" Natsu questioned the punk. "Waiting for my girlfriend, Why are you here?" "I'm here waiting for my girlfriend" The boys looked at each other realization washed over the two boys faces.
"Hey Boys," Lucy said dragging Levy behind her.
"Why are you doing this again?" Natsu asked his girlfriend
"Yeah, I'm just gonna end up getting annoyed at this idiot," Gajeel said pointing to the pinkette next him.
"Yeah, Hey," Natsu said offended
"So do you want to cancel."
"NO" Natsu yelled, Gajeel just shrugged.
"Let's go Golfing then," Lucy said pulling Natsu with her. Gajeel and Levy walking behind them. "Sorry I lied," Levy said sheepishly. "You didn't lie, you asked me if I wanted to come on a date and I agreed" Gajeel sad "I lied by omission" "What the hell does that mean" Levy was about to respond when Gajeel interjected "You know what nevermind, I honestly don't care. Everyone lies, I lie, and It normally doesn't affect anything. I also won't do anything, last time when Juvia found out what I did, she drew on my face while I was asleep." Levy stifled a Laugh "It's not funny" Gajeel said defensively "Remind me never to get Juvia mad" Levy told him. "Yeah, she's scary." Levy laughed, her big, tuff, punk boyfriend was afraid of Juvia, a tiny, sweet and adorable girl, who probably couldn't hurt a fly.
"Here's your clubs and balls, have fun," the person at the window said. "We will," Lucy said dragging Natsu with her. This was going to be Torture for the boys.
"I got a hole in one" Levy screamed jumping up and down. "Good for you, Shrimp," Gajeel said writing down her score. "What's the score now Gajeel?" Lucy asked. "Shrimp, You, Flame Brain, Me" Gajeel grumbled walking to the next hole. "Ha, I'm beating you" Natsu made fun of the black-haired boy. "Shut it you dumbass, I don't do Golf" Gajeel Grumbled. "That's a shit excuse. Please, I normally don't play and I'm beating you" "By one mother-fucking point, you aren't that far ahead" "Still beating you" "Stop fighting or I'll call Erza" Lucy threatened. "Sorry, Lucy" The boys responded.
*1 hour later*
The group of friends (Two friends and two frenemies) were driving home in Lucy's car. Natsu's brother, Zeref had taken his because Natsu wasn't supposed to have it and Gajeel brought his motorbike and the 4 of them couldn't fit on that. (It was currently in the back of Lucy's car)
"I Won!" Levy said excitedly. "We know, you've been saying that since we left the course" Lucy rolled her eyes at her overexcited best friend. "So boys, How is the team?" Lucy asked, trying to make small talk. "We're doing well, I think we will beat Sabertooth next week," Natsu said, overly confident as usual. "Don't overestimate yourself, we don't know how to work together." Gajeel Muttered the last part "You guys do fight a lot" Levy said. "Whatever" Gajeel rolled his eyes "Metal Brain always starts it" Natsu muttered. "What did you just say charcoal?"
"Nothin' Metal Face"
"Why you little-"
"NO FIGHTING IN MY CAR!" Lucy yelled at the two bickering boys
"Sorry," Natsu said sheepishly
"Whatever" Gajeel rolled his eyes
"Why don't you all talk about your weird drama at your next meeting" Levy suggested. "Fine" Natsu crossed his arms and sat back
"Natsu," Levy said
"What?" Natsu asked
"What were you and Lisanna talking about a few weeks back?" Levy inquired. Lucy glared at her from the steering wheel
"Oh, we were talking about- Actually she told me not to tell anyone"
"You can tell us, right?"
"Nope"
"They were talking about Lisanna's new boyfriend" Gajeel commented
"How do you know?" Natsu asked
"Juvia told me" He explained as if it was obvious
"Who is her boyfriend?" Levy asked
"Some dark blue-haired guy"
"There are like 500 people we know with blue hair”
“I don’t know the damn details”
"We're here Gajeel," Lucy said pulling up to Gajeel's House.
"Thanks, Bunny Girl, See you next week shrimp," Gajeel said as he got out of the car and went to open the back to get his bike.
"My Name is LUCY!" Lucy screamed at him. "Yeah, Yeah, Whatever" Gajeel sad pulling out his bike. "Wait Gaje, Could you take me home?" Levy asked hoping out of the car. "Why not" Gajeel shrugged. "Bye Lucy, Natsu" Levy waved at her friend and the pinkette. "Bye Levy" "Come on Shrimp, Let's get you home. Just let me put my bike away and we can take my car" "Alright" Levy said following him into the Refox family's garage.
As Lucy was getting ready to drive away Natsu climbed up into the passenger seat poking his girlfriend in the process "Hey Luce" "What?" "Do you hate Lisanna?" He asked. Lucy's face went pale, she dreaded Natsu asking this question. Before answering she sighed. "No, I'm just jealous of your relationship with her" Lucy started the car. "Why?" "because you guys are so close and seem like you would be a better couple" Natsu started laughing. "It's not funny" Lucy whined. "Luce, don't ever think I would date Lis, she's my childhood best friend, she's just my friend and I will spend time with her but I will always love you. Please be nice to her, she thinks you hate her." Natsu said in a serious tone. "She does?" Lucy asked. "Yeah, she really wants to be friends with you but thinks you hate her" "Oh No," Lucy said in a sad tone. "I never meant for her to feel like that" "I know" "I'll talk to her on Monday." "Good idea, She'll like that" Natsu smiled at his girlfriend. He was really lucky to have someone like her. "Alright see you at school." Lucy waved at Natsu as he got out. "Bye," he waved back smiling. "Love ya Luce" "Love you too" Lucy smiled, she was lucky to have such an amazing person as her boyfriend
*With Levy and Gajeel*
"Alright which car do you want to take?" Gajeel asked the petite bluenette. "Oh, that blue one is pretty. Can we take that one?" Levy asked pointing to a dark blue Corvette. Gajeel shrugged "Why not, Let me just make sure it's ok with the owner." "Who owns it?" Levy questioned, she sometimes forgot his family collected cars and they often kept a lot of people who needed someone to hold onto their car, commonly family friends who were on vacation, in their garage. "Juvia, she left it here last time she was over," Gajeel said nonchalantly. Levy tilted her head to the left out of confusion, sure she knew Juvia's family was rich but the girl had never seemed to be the one to own such an extravagant car. "She only has this one for when she's going somewhere important" Gajeel explained seeing the small girls confusion. Gajeel's phone buzzed, he looked down, "She said we could take it" "It's a nice car" "Yeah." The two got in the car.
"So are you doing well in class?" Levy asked. Gajeel groaned, she always asked this. "I'm passing," he said. "Passing is not the same as succeeding," Levy said seriously. "I know, I'm just not good at tests and I don't like homework"
"Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you shouldn't do it"
"I'm inheriting my dad's company, What more do I need"
Levi sighed "You need to know business tactics, stats, what people want, stuff like that"
Gajeel rolled his eyes "R.R is a record company, It can't be too hard to manage"
"Trust me you will be begging for my help when you become in charge"
"Alright" Gajeel decided to drop it, they were nearing her house (cough cough Library) and she wouldn't let it go if he didn't
"See ya' tater tot," He said as he pulled up to her house
"My name is Levy," she said kissing his cheek
"I don't care," He said sticking his tongue out "Love ya' Tiny"
"Love you to Screw Brains," She said kissing him again.
"LEVY, YOU'RE LATE" Mr. McGarden yelled from inside the house. "YOU BETTER NOT BE WITH THAT REDFOX KID" Levy rolled her eyes and turned around to wave to her boyfriend but he was already down the road. "Leave that boy alone, he is a fine young man" she heard her mother hit her father with a cookie sheet. Levy smiled and thought 'my family is crazy' "GET IN HERE YOUNG LADY" "Yes sir" Levy said running in her house. Today wasn't complete torture.
Hope you liked it and I hope you have a good day

Trouble Comes In Threes (Triplet!AU) (1/?)
Modern!AU, College!AU. This is my first triplet AU post but I'm gonna give it my best! Its start off with just Ben Solo, but will end with Matt and in the next chapter Kylo as well, so bare with me I promise! Fem!S/O just so you know! There will be smut NSFW, but not in this part. So lets start!
Part One!
° You sat behind the counter of your coffee shop job, long hair up and glinting wonderfully under the warm lighting hanging above. However, your face was anything the shining welcoming look of a barista that day. It had been rough, your car had broken down on the way to work, so your legs were sore from the walk there. You had gotten a text from your parent of a letter you had gotten from your "first choice" college. A rejection letter. Now the wait was on from your second choice college. Upon texting your boyfriend about the news, he explained long distance wouldn't work so the relationship was over. A text, classy. Now you waited for the shift to finally be over. It was almost over though, only a half an hour left. There was one joy that couldn't be taken away from you, and you smiled gently as you saw him pull up on his bike, grin on his face as he pulled open the door.
° Ben Solo, thank christ like a sign from some lord to just hold on. The day was almost over. He wasn't a friend, but a friendly regular that at least knew how to put a smile on that sour puss of a face you probably wore that day. Your smile must have been different than any other day because he stopped as he looked at you.
° "Uh oh, who do I have to beat up?" His voice greeted you and you shook your head as you begin to make his usual coffee. "Ben, you would just not believe the day I've had today," you began as you began combining ingredients to make his coffee. It was something the two of you had perfected, sweet but mature. Creamy but also still packed a powerful punch. Kind of like good old Ben.
° "Good thing I've got today off! Tell me all about it, kid," he stated, making himself at home by coming plopping into the comfy chair that was next to the counter. The two of you went to school together but never really talked to one another, but when you got your job at this coffee shop, he had been quick to work his schedule his daily coffee run around your schedule with the business. No one knew what he ordered. He wore a frown as he heard you sigh quietly as you placed the lid of his coffee cup in and moved around the counter to hand him the drink. He patted the chair next to him and you sat beside him. All the closing chores were done then, you were just waiting to lock the door. It wouldn't hurt to sit for the last 25 minutes.
° "Where to I begin? Well first my car wouldn't start this morning. So I had to make the walk here. Luckily I made it on time," you started as you looked at him rest his elbow on the arm of the chair and his chin in his hand as he looked at you. "Then I got a text from my mom saying I didn't get into UCLA. Which I kind of figured, since I took a year off it doesn't look good. But I wasn't expecting Andrew to break up with me over it," you hummed in amusement at your own life as Ben looked utterly offended.
° "What an asshole!" Ben almost yelled and you shrugged. "Gets better Ben, he did it over text," you finished and then he did yell, "What the fuck! Oh man, I'm so sorry Y/N. But that offer for dinner still stands," he added with a wiggle of his eyebrows. He chuckled as he saw you roll your eyes before he sipped the coffee.
° "Thanks but I think I'll stay single until I find out what I college I end up heading to," you retorted with a snort of a laugh, "I'm hoping to find a nice sorority girl," you teased to which he responded with "That'd be pretty hot to be honest."
° "What college are you hoping for? Did you have a second choice?"
° "Gon Jinn University, they have a Philosophy program I'm really interested in, plus they offered me a full ride, I just need to get the go ahead letter," you stated as you got up from the chair and began making your own coffee to drink on your walk home. He seemed to perk up.
° "Hey thats where my brothers go, and I got my acceptance letter yesterday so yours should be there too soon," he assured you with that air of kindness that he was so good at radiating off of him.
° "I didn't know you had brothers," you stated honestly, peeking at him over the coffee machine, "They as handsome as you?" You teased him again and he snorted.
° " They wish. You went to school with them too, Y/N. Kylo and Matt? Matt has curly blonde hair and glasses. He was in AP classes too, you should have seen him once or twice at least. Kylo is the big bad boy of the family. He was in Psychology like you were," he looked at you over the coffee machine and he could see the confusion and could see you shrug your shoulders and rolled his own eyes this time. "I swear to god, I'm not sure how you made it through school without getting hit by a car or something, you're so oblivious," he laughed. You stuck your tongue out at him but laughed with him as you both made pleasant conversation for the rest of the time before you closed up shop. He walked out the door with you, still talking on and on about his major he was interested in, Engineering. It was mostly static noise to you, but he was obviously passionate about it. As you were about to say goodbye to him he cut you off.
° "Want a ride? Its a two seater." He offered with a wiggle of his eyebrows and you rolled your eyes.
"I'm fine Ben, but thank you."
"Come on, maybe I can help you with your car? You've already had a long day, let me help you out," he cooed before unlocking his bike and pushing up the kickstand. He swung up his long leg over the seat and took a hand and patted the room behind him. You looked at it then at him. However, your legs did really hurt. The thought of walking home was almost enough to make you cry. You pulled your purse over your shoulder and nodded as you sat behind him, hands gripping his shirt as he began to peddle away from your coffee shop.
°"Where do you live?" He asked over his shoulder. You leaned up and told him and he looked a little surprised. "Oh I know where that is. I'll get us there," he stated, a small smirk on his lips which made you suspicious but you decided to trust him. He made pleasant enough conversation, asking about your choice in major and you explained it happily, suddenly seeming to glow as you explained it. Everyone knew you were brilliant, but Ben sometimes seemed to get it more than others. He could act like a jughead some(a lot of)times, but you had gotten to appreciate the knowledge in that big head of his, plus having someone to keep up with you was so refreshing. As you got more comfortable with riding with him, your hands had moved from holding his shirt to wrap around his waist and chin resting on his shoulder. You asked about somethings about him, about his family and his brothers but he quickly changed the subject from that topic. So you both asked questions about each other. Favorite color, favorite type of music and books and movies.
°"What's your favorite scent? Like food or perfume or even something like trees or flowers?" You asked with interest, eyes looking at his strong features as he thought about it. He was actually very handsome. Such strong features and sometimes he'd catch you looking and he had a smile that could be described as completely contagious and you'd smile back.
° "I like natural smells. Like cedar or campfires or pine or rain on rocks. That kind of stuff. What about you?"
° You answer and he nods before he asked the next question. That was how the ride went. The two of you laughed easily together and both could be playful with one another. It was surprising the two of you hadn't connected in high school, but that was probably for the best, the two of you probably would have gotten expelled. A friendship between the two of you would be trouble in all the fun ways. Suddenly though you were home. You hoped off his bike and stretched, him propping the bike up on the sidewalk as you saw your car in the driveway.
° "Lets see what I can do," he stated, and you quickly shake your head.
"No its okay Ben, I'm sure you want to go home too," you stated quickly but he waved you off.
"I don't leave that far, kid. It won't take me long to get there. Let's see of I can get this thing to turn over," he stated, looking at your beater car. It was already in such bad shape, you had been saving up to buy a new one, but it would be hard to split with your first car. There were great memories in there. You opened thr driver side door and popped the hood for him and out of habit you went to go check the mailbox even though your mom must have already looked to see the letter from the college. However inside there were a small stack of letters. She must have been looking for that letter for you and didn't grab the rest of the mail.
° You take the small stack of envelopes into your hand and look through them casually before you see the othet letter you had been waiting for. There was a moment of panic in your stomach as you set the letters on top of your car and looked at the envelope. Ben looked up to see you looking at the letter. He stood up straight and looked at it with you. "Just the go ahead right?"
° "I'm just worried because I took a year off. What if they don't want me anymore?" You asked yourself more than him. He shrugged, "I took a year off too, and they accepted me." You nodded but added, "Its been that kind of day though, and bad things usually happen in 3s, right?" He took the letter into his hands.
° "Want me to open it?" He asked, and watched as you nodded. It seemed silly, to be afraid of a damn letter, but you couldn't help but be nervous. He took a finger and opened the letter gently, putting the envelope to the side and unfolding the paper inside. He read it out loud for you. "Dear Miss Y/L/N. Thank you for your interest in Gon Jinn University," he paused, giving a small but sad looking smile, "Unfortunately, We regret to inform you that..." He paused again and took a deep breath, "That you will be stuck with one Ben Solo because you are going to school with him," he smirked but quickly laughed as a hand came and swatted his chest, "Ow, hey," he complained but saw that megawatt smile on your face as you leaned on the car and sighed a happy sigh. "Ready for your 3rd bad thing?" He asked, handing you your acceptance and leaning on the car next to you. "Your transmission is shot." "Oh."
° The two of you talked for a little while longer before you thanked him for the ride home and looking at the car for you. He smiled and waved as he got on his bike. But something was strange, he only rode across the street to the house that belonged to Miss Organa, your next door neighbor. You narrowed your eyes in confusion as he got off his bike and walked over to the garage. He opened it and parked his bike inside and waved again. "See you tomorrow neighbor!" Ben yelled and you looked completely surprised as he shut the garage door and you heard him laughing.
° The rest of the summer was spent getting ready to leave. You spent warm nights on the back of Ben's bike until you finally found the right parts to fix your car and then you put Ben's bike in the trunk and gave him rides home every night.
° "You're going to make me fat if you keep denying me my riding rights!"with a curt response of "You're literally built like a brick shithouse, Ben. Shut up."
° Even your parents would began to have late night talks with his mother while their children would hang out in your garage. "My boys are going to be nothing but trouble for your girl," Miss Organa would say with a laugh while your laughters could be heard rattling the walls.
° You really did like the man, he had you laughing till you had tears rolling down your cheeks. But sometimes there would be nights where he would proudly admit his newest conquest, meaning the next tail he would be chasing. So you knew that there was not much of a future despite his constant asks for dates. Which you were okay with, there was something about the way he would grow soft when talking about your pasts, your hopes, and your dreams. You had told yourself that you were so happy with this new friendship you had gotten from this man.
° You two waved goodbye to your parents, long hugs from your mothers, you even getting a deep hug from Leia, "Make sure my boys get home for the holidays will you, Y/N?" You promised that you would physically drag them if you had too. Ben pushed his belongs into your trunk and had packed you both a cooler filled with drinks and bags of chips and slim jims and sweets. You shoved your belongings into the back seat and suddenly you two were both off. It was a two day drive, going straight through. The drive was filled with laughs, staring at the stars on the hood of the car when you stopped to eat or see something cool you were driving past. Picture opportunities that were taken every time there was a chance.
° It was interesting to watch him sleep when it was your turn to drive. To see him curl up on the seat and his black hair fall over his face. He breathed in deep rhythmic motions. He looked almost... innocent. Which you knew that was definitely not the case, but it was almost convincing. In other times when you were in the passenger seat, in a deep sleep, Ben drove slower, making sure not to wake you up. Occasionally, you could feel a phantom hand push some hair out of your face, and in sleep, you would move closer to the touch, fingers grazing over your forehead gently. But the hand would move away, a soft chuckle replacing it.
° "I am sure happy that I have you, Y/N," his voice would be that soft sweet tone he would use when talking about something he cared about.
° 5 days later, you slackers arrived at the college, your hand moving to his shoulder and shaking him awake. Sleepy brown eyes opened and he sat up in the seat, rubbing the sleep away with his large hands while you leaned over the steering wheel to take in the expansive college grounds. It was so green, the buildings aged tan bricks, the windows iridescent with sun stains and years of wear on them. Ben looked uninterested in the buildings until he saw his dorm building he suddenly got excited.
° "Come on, help me move in and scope out your future victims," he teased, making you scowl at him playfully before you pull in and park the car in front of the large building. "Matty is supposed to be in this building too. Maybe you can meet him," Ben stated hopefully. You rose your eyebrows in interest as you pulled out his duffel bagged that he had stuffed all his clothing in and he laughed as he watched you struggle to put the strap over your shoulder but he quickly took it from you and throw it over his shoulder. He picked up pretty much everything except two boxes which you handled as you both climbed the stairs. You watched as men walked past you, your eyes betraying you as some made deliberate eye contact with you. Do men usually walk around with no shirts on like this? You smiled mischeviously at some, but when you turned back around you would see Ben stopped looking you with a raised eyebrow and a smirk.
° "Honey why don't you ever smile at me like that?" He asked, faking a hurt tone."Shut up, Ben."
° You finally made it to his room number, him opening the door and dropping his stuff down the bed that was in there. There were no other beds or bodies in the room. "You don't have a roomie?" You asked curiously. "Guess not. That's good, that means I don't have to worry about sharing anything with anybody. I can unpack by myself, lets go get your stuff into your dorm," he stated and you smirked.
° "Afraid of what I'll find in those boxes, Benny boy?" He responded in a mysterious whisper, "Shush shush, I have to keep some secrets, Y/N."
° As they walked out of his new room, they heard a small voice come from behind them. "Ben?" Ben turned around and it was like he teleported from his spot next to you to suddenly hugging someone tightly. "Matty! Its good to see you. Damn you're looking thick, son. You been working out?" Ben teased the man he was hugging.
° "Very funny, Ben," the man laughed gently. You peeked around your large friend to see blonde curls but that was all you could make out right then until Ben finally moved away so that you could see the man he was talking to. He looked almost exactly like Ben. Beauty marks scattered his features and he had the same strong nose and full lips. The same brown eyes, but surrounding them were thick glasses. The hair was really throwing you off, but you suddenly recognized the man. You did have classes with him, in fact you remember being partnered on projects with him. He was timid but highly intelligent, a wizz with electronics.
° "Oh Matt, this is Y/N. Kid, this is my brother Matt," Ben introduced his brother politely. Matt looked at you and smiled warmly.
° "I remember Y/N. How have you been?" The man asked politely. You responded with a smile. "Been good, been busy trying to get ready to start."
° "I can understand that. I'm still trying to get the books I need for this year's classes. Speaking of which I am in the middle of finishing some things up, we are still going to dinner tonight right, Ben?" Matt asked his brother, who nodded in earnest. "Yes, Kylo still hasn't answered me about it, but I'll drag him along too."
° "That would be nice, he's been busy with prepping for classes for the professor. Did he tell you that he got that assistant teacher job he was trying to get?" Matt asked and Ben answered with a roll of his eyes. "He didn't even tell me he was trying to do that. Thats okay, I'll catch up with him tonight. Mom wants me to pass along a slap for not calling her on her birthday," Ben stated firmly but clapped Matt on the shoulder, who almost fell over from the sheer force of it. "But Matty, I'll catch up with you later, we have to get Y/N's stuff to her dorm." Matt nodded and Ben moved back over to your side.
° "It was good seeing you, Matt. Hope we can hang out and catch up soon," you stated and Matt looked at Ben confused. But Ben quickly began to lead you away as you smiled warmly at Matt and waved in goodbye. A trip back to the car with you beginning to call out Ben, "I thought you were going exploring tonight, Ben?" You asked curiously, tone sarcastic. It didn't really bother you that he made other plans, but opportunities like this were rare to act like you were pissy with him. "I just hadn't gotten the chance to ask if you if you'd like to hang out with me and my brothers tonight is all! I just wanted to ask you if you'd run interference. Sometimes me and Kylo can get heated when we're together, but if you're there he won't act out." Ben explained, holding all your stuff in his arms and you holding open the door of your dorm building open for him. You lead the way up the stairs as you responded to him. "I can do that. As long as you're buying." He nodded quickly and smiled. "Thanks, kid. I really appreciate it." He dropped your stuff off in your room, and helped you unpack some of your things. It wasn't until you both decided to take a shower after 5 days of straight car ride, it was time to rinse off and get settled in.
°"Meet you at the car at 5:30?" He asked and you nodded with a smile. "Yeah I'll see you then." You shut the door on him as you begin to dig out your shower stuff and get ready to go out. The first brother wasn't bad at all, so you assumed the second brother would be fine as well, despite Ben's worry.

The Way You Look Tonight [Grace/Frankie]
Frankie returns from Santa Fe when she and Grace receive a special honor for their business. Inspired by Jane Fonda’s dress at the 2017 Emmy Awards. You know the one (or rather, my interpretation of it. See author’s note). Hope you enjoy (: Here on A03.
***
“I really wish you’d let me take you to Patty’s,” Frankie guilt-tripped for the third time that morning, shuffling after Grace as they approached Lord & Taylor.
“Why, because you’re afraid of the revolving door here?”
“I’m not afraid,” Frankie insisted, hiking her purse up on her shoulder, stopping in her tracks to stretch her calves. “I just prefer establishments that don’t force me to vault myself through a human-sized blender before I can get my shop on.”
“Well, come on then.”
“I mean…okay. You go first.”
“Fine,” Grace sighed, quickly pushing past the spinning entrance. When she reached the other side, she turned back only to find Frankie still waiting, pressing her hand to her sternum as she watched the golden slats between the panes of glass go round and round, counting to herself “One, two, three, one, two, three,” like she was memorizing some sort of life-or-death dance routine. Grace felt her patience running thin, the usual let’s go, Frankie bubbling up inside, but she held it back this time, determined not to do that so much anymore. She pushed it down instead, crossing her arms, trying not to tap her foot as she waited.
“One, two, thr…good fucking Christ…okay, and I’m through,” Frankie exhaled loudly, wiping her brow as she stuck the landing, shaking out the adrenaline. “Alright. Show me where the fancy ladies buy their fancy lady clothes. I’m all yours.”
Grace bit the inside of her lip, blinking a few times before leading them past the men’s ties and the escalators, thankful they didn’t have to brave another “man-made death trap” as they found their way to the evening gown section of the department store.
A few weeks ago, when she received the invitation honoring them and other female entrepreneurs at the Southern California Women’s Business League’s Annual Gala, Grace almost tossed the invitation right in the trash. She and Frankie being honored for Vybrant had to be some kind of joke. Certainly an organization made up of mostly upper to middle class older, white, straight-laced women who were more prudish than she’d ever been had to have made a mistake. They’d done quite a bit of work at winning over that market online, where they could still remain somewhat anonymous. There was still plenty of work to do in person. And yet there it was, right on the mailer, confirmed on their website. They’d even pulled a photo of she and Frankie from the Vybrant media kit, making it clear this was in fact serious. They were receiving some kind of award, and as co-owner of the company, Grace didn’t think she should make the decision to attend or not on her own, even if her best friend and business partner had up and left a few weeks earlier.
Santa Fe was only temporary, Frankie promised. A trial run. A last hurrah, if anything. Grace knew that wasn’t true, not after the pep talk she’d given, not after she’d stupidly restored Frankie’s confidence and made her rethink breaking up with Jacob in the first place. So, the next week, Frankie packed up half her studio and went with him to visit his property there, simple as that.
Except the day she left, Grace could barely make it downstairs to say goodbye. She was nauseous all morning, but played it off like it was a stomach bug she’d picked up from the grandkids. She refused to get Frankie sick before taking the train far away from her doctors, so Grace held her breath dramatically while Frankie threw caution to the wind and wrapped her arms around her anyway. She settled for an air kiss to either side of Grace’s cheek and then hopped into the Lyft with Jacob.
Grace stood in the doorway, watching all her sanity, her safety and stability, the foundation she’d begrudgingly and inevitably built over the past two years get in the car and pull away. But before it could, Jacob looked back one last time from inside the car, made eye contact and slowly mouthed “Thank you.” It took all Grace had not to hurl her coffee mug at him, to stop the cheap Toyota in the driveway by chipping away just a little more at its deteriorating paint job. Instead, she went inside and back up to bed, where she stayed for the good remainder of the day.
That was a little over a month ago. Since then, she’d been determined to let Frankie do her thing, figure out if Santa Fe, and Jacob by extension, really was worth picking up her life and starting over somewhere else. Still, Grace thought it only fair to tell Frankie about the invitation to the gala, not as an excuse to get her to come back. No, definitely not that she told herself. It made sense to present her with all the options. As a business owner. As equals in their mutual success.
She waited until the very last minute to tell her, with only a few days left until the big event, thinking that might make things easier all around. Little did she know Frankie would be so excited, she’d book a flight that very night and be back in town two days later. That gave them just enough time to shop for dresses and make it to the party that evening.
“So, what should I be looking for?” Frankie asked. “What’s the dress code at one of these things anyway?”
“Black tie,” Grace repeated. “That’s why we’re here in the first place.”
“Yes, because you wouldn’t let me take you to Patty’s.”
“Because I don’t feel like showing up to a high society dinner in a mumu made from alpaca fur,” Grace rolled her eyes, running her fingers over the garments calling from their little islands in the center of the showroom.
“Now when have you ever seen me wear alpaca? I mean, outside the house? That I haven’t crocheted myself? You can’t find that at Patty’s. We’d have to go somewhere way out in the bowels of Encinitas for…”
“Can we just focus on what we’re here for, please?” Grace clipped, immediately cursing herself for the tone. She’d really resolved to do better. She had to.
“Okay, Ms. Priestly, then tell me what the latest trends are? What would look good on a woman with my hip-to-ass ratio? Got any hot tips?”
“Maybe don’t talk about your ass when we get there tonight,” Grace smirked, pulling out a navy blue number that might just work. “How about this?”
“Ugh, too boring,” Frankie whined.
“This isn’t backstage at a Rolling Stones concert, okay? This is a business affair.”
“I know that. But what do they always say? Business in the front, party in the back. Is that right? Speaking of which, check this out,” Frankie lifted a bright fuchsia gown off the rack, twirling it between them, mesmerized by the attached necklace, a strip of faux diamonds with emeralds dangling from the hanger. She swatted at it with her free hand, making it swing as it hovered over the extremely low neckline, or what Grace soon realized was the back of the dress. “Jesus, this would look great on you.”
“Me?” Grace balked, mouth agape. “I…yeah, maybe if I was forty years younger.”
“Uh uh, don’t even start with that ageist bull. You know you can rock any gown in this place, and this one’s got you written all over it.”
“Are you kidding me?” Grace continued to look for other options. “Since when have you ever known me to wear something that…that…”
“Unconventional? Exciting? Not that often, I must admit, but why let that stop you? The color’s perfect. It even matches our packaging, sorta. Come on, won’t you try it on for me? Pretty please?” Frankie batted her lashes.
“Why? So you can take a photo and put it up on Snapfish or whatever the hell you want to do with it?”
“Snapchat, Grace. Don’t play dumb, you know what it is. And no, I won’t take any pictures. I’ll be a perfect gentlewoman if you just try it on. And I’ll try on whatever you think would look good on me.”
“What is this, an impromptu say yes night?” Grace complained. “Because I didn’t agree to any…”
“No, no, not tonight. There’s too much pressure, I know it. I wouldn’t do that to you. Just trust me on this. This dress will make us stand out from the crowd, not that we need much help with that. But believe me, they’ll notice you. For all the right reasons.”
“And what about you? I’m not worried about me as much as I am about you. I’m not letting you walk into that place in clogs and a peasant skirt.”
“Oh don’t worry, we’ll find me something. But first, this. Come on, the suspense is killing me. If you hate it, we’ll move on to the next one. What do you say?”
Grace looked down at the dress again. It really was stunning, not something she ever would have picked out for herself, but maybe would have stopped to compliment on someone else if she saw it. Then again, there was no telling unless she tried it on. Frankie clearly saw something she didn’t. Far be it for her to cut down her vision so prematurely.
“If I can’t get it up over my hips, don’t even start to drag me over to the dessert table tonight.”
“Honey, there was no way you were gonna eat any of that anyway,” Frankie shook her head. “Let’s go.”
Read the rest on A03.

I excerpted part of a chapter from Losing the Bug in July’s rewards, and now I’m posting it here, mainly for noted Benthusiast @lilbit4point0.
The sets at Natural Art were solid that morning, a thick white-capped wave rolling in every twenty minutes or so like we’d ordered them special. Dario sat next to me on his board and we hung out for a minute while a couple of the other regulars peeled off.
“You’re wasting time,” he called. The wind blew wet tangles across his face. Blond as he already was, in a month or so his hair would be Barbie-bleached thanks to the sun and salt water and the chlorine of the pool on his parents’ back patio. “What are you waiting for, dude?”
I shrugged, curling my legs up under my board beneath the water. “Not in any hurry. Calm your tits, Kelly Slater.”
“First good waves in a month and you’re not in any hurry,” Dario repeated. He clipped the side of his hand across the water to splash at me. “You better be. We need to leave in like ten minutes if you don’t want to be late for your date.”
“Uh-huh. Fifteen hands tall, long black hair…” I laughed, thinking of the first colt slotted onto my morning work-out schedule. “Shitty temper. Exactly my type.”
Dario laughed too, his face turned south to where a tiny figure was barely visible carving the froth off a wave. “I can’t be your conscience, Benjamin. Leave it up to me and we’ll just hang out here all day.”
That sounded ok, actually--better than ok, a day spent surfing and swimming and walking up to the snow cone hut on the bend. Watching the sky get light, working on my tan, checking out guys. It was June and that was what summer was for. It was the other reason kids from school still blew up my phone, requests for tips and cajoling to get them into the fancy lounges at Gulfstream one day, then gossip about the upcoming Surfriders competition on Fourth of July weekend the next day. What was the point of living in a place everyone else vacationed if you didn’t avail yourself now and then?
I slid down into the water until my chest pressed the grit of my board and started paddling. After a minute Dario did too, calling, “You’re no fun!” into the breeze at my back.
“You really aren’t,” he continued when we hit the sand and picked up our boards. “Seriously, you used to be Ben the good-time boy and now you’re, like...dour.”
“Get the fuck out of here with your SAT vocabulary. I’m a shimmering delight.”
“I hate to be like this,” he said, digging in the zipper pocket of his board shorts for his keys. “But like, if I don’t tell you, who will? That’s what best friends are for. Ben. Seriously. You need an intervention.”
“If my parents thought I was working too hard I’d be hearing about it from Mom.” I levered my board into the rack on the roof of his car. “As it is, I’m pretty sure Dad thinks I don’t work hard enough, so what’s your point?”
Dario snickered as we got into the car. “Man, I don’t care how hard you work. I care how boring you are lately. You think it’s fun to surf with some uptight princess who won’t shut up about how he’s winning the riding title, not Joel Canseco?”
I frowned at my reflection in the car’s side mirror, even though the salt water was doing nice things for my hair.
“Who the hell is Joel Canseco anyway?” Dario leaned his arms on the steering wheel and stared at the line of cars inching down 3rd Street. “God, look at that, we left at exactly the right time. Ben, for real, usually you’re just bitching about that redneck homophobe or whatever.”
“Mason Waller,” I muttered. That asshole should’ve been riding Guava Grove in Tampa, or better yet hauling his ass out of the state of Florida altogether, maybe to Mountaineer or some shit. “Whatever, Dario. Look, this is how it goes, if there’s more than one apprentice around that’s who your competition is. Same weight allowance, all the trainers want that. So it starts being about who’s actually better, not just who’s tacking less than the regular jocks.”
Dario blinked at me as we waited for the light. “So kick his ass, Ben. This is kindergarten math.”
Dario had managed to be friends with me since middle school without really figuring out how horse racing worked. I scrunched my toes up inside my flip-flops, wiggling them so that sand scattered across the floor mat. “God, why didn’t I think of that?”
“Look, if he’s as high and mighty as you keep saying, he’ll fuck up eventually,” Dario said. He hit the gas to squeak through the four-way stop sign at US1, throwing me back against the seat. “Snap, you know, Jockeys Gone Wild.” He giggled, glancing at me over his Ray Bans. “No offense, but I’d probably watch that.”
“You’re mixing metaphors,” I grumbled, then dug in the center console for my phone. “He’s just...a dick. I try to be nice, why shouldn’t I be, and he’s just a dick! He’s a dick, Dario.”
“So you’re saying he’s a dick.”
“Total dick.” My phone displayed its morning reminder from Dad not to be late, a few spam emails, something from the community college about autumn classes. I flipped to Twitter. “And boring. God, he’s boring.”
“If he spends all his time bitching about you to his best friend, yeah, he’s boring.”
“Just, like--he rode in New York, right, that’s pretty tight, bugs who start off at Aqueduct and Belmont usually get really good mounts. And his fucking Twitter is one hundred percent class, all retweets of trainers whose horses he’s on and--” I waved my phone at Dario. “You know. Nothing embarrassing. He’s making me look bad, man.”
“You do that all on your own,” Dario pointed out. “Like, for real. The tiniest bit of finesse, just a thought. You need a social media manager? I’ll run your Twitter account, keep you from wrecking your career with too many accidental dick pics.”
He took a hand off the steering wheel to make air quotes, just in case I missed the heavy sarcasm.
“That was one time, and there were extenuating circumstances.” Dario scoffed. I flipped him off, grinning. No apprentice avoided jock hazing, and social media made it easy to capture the egg-drenched hair, the water-soaked breeches, the pantsing and shoe polish. “Anyway, I’m pretty sure he’s a robot. Can robots win riding titles? I’m pretty sure it’s in the Florida statutes that they cannot.”
“Google it,” Dario said.
I tapped Gulfstream’s official account and scrolled down to where they’d tweeted something about Joel. I wasn’t following him, of course--I had been, because it was usually fun to chat with apprentices at different tracks, and then I’d promptly unfollowed him about two minutes after meeting him in person. “You know he told me I’m--”
“Sloppy,” Dario filled in. “I remember you mentioning that about twelve times this morning, actually.” He snorted and braked for the Hallandale Beach exit. “Maybe he’s just shy.”
“Shy?” I stuck my head out the window and howled. “I never met a shy horseman in my life. You can’t be shy in this business. You either know how to talk to people or you think you’re too good to need to.”
“Ok,” Dario said, ignoring my dramatics. “Maybe he thinks you’re cute.”
“Everyone thinks I’m cute,” I said. “Because I am. It usually works in my favor.”
“See,” he said, sighing. “That’s the problem. You’re spoiled, Ben, you’re used to smiling and people dropping their shit to get you a drink or let you copy their homework or throw a horse at you or whatever. Cute guys never have to work like the rest of us.”
“Please,” I said as we paused at the light for the horsemen’s lot. “This from Coconut Grove’s own Dane Dehaan.”
Dario pulled into a visitor’s spot and leaned across the seat to look at Twitter with me. “Oh my god. Thinking you’re cute isn’t the problem, clearly.” He grabbed my phone, Ray Bans sliding down his nose. “Is he Cuban?”
“Cuban-American,” I said. “I think. He’s from Miami, so...I guess it’s unfair, really, for me to feel all threatened. He’s got as much right to be riding here as anyone else.” I brooded for a minute while Dario started up his commentary over the pictures on Joel’s Twitter. “Still. He could’ve stayed in New York. No one would have minded.”
“So I don’t think he’s a robot,” Dario said. “Or if he is it’s the kind where they have multiple emotional settings. His Instagram is a little more human.”
I snatched my phone back. “How’d you find his Instagram?”
Dario cocked his head, smiling like I was a newborn. “There was a picture link in one of his mentions. God, Ben, do you understand how Twitter works?”
I scrolled slowly through the Instagram feed. “I just figured he didn’t have one since it’s not in his bio.”
“Not all of us put our entire life stories in a Twitter bio,” Dario said. “Cultivate some fucking mystique, hon, I swear.”
I didn’t say anything back, being a little distracted by how different Joel’s Instagram was from his Twitter. His name wasn’t in the handle, jjockeyc, which I guessed made it harder for creeps like me and Dario to find. There were track shots, sure, kind of artsy-lite pictures of horses at weird angles and sunrises, but it was mostly other stuff: bookstores and alley cafes captioned things like ‘pho yeah @ tha strand’ and New York skylines and marquees of movies. I hadn’t heard of most of them. Here it was, a whole little world that was hard to imagine him fitting into. My skin felt strange--almost crawling--like I was peeking through his window, even though it wasn’t like the Instagram was private.
Not many of the pictures featured him, a lone selfie for every five basically-identical shots of Aqueduct’s main track. For some reason I was glad.
“Shit,” Dario said. “I thought you said he was gay.”
“Pretty sure he is,” I said. “I told you about that interview, right? And like...people are sometimes nasty to him online. You know how it goes.”
“So who’s that girl? Maybe he’s bi.”
I tapped the photo Dario was pointing at, a picture of Joel and a girl with their tongues stuck sideways, arms looped over each other’s shoulders and the phone held out from the girl’s hand. She was pretty, fantastic skin and a pair of silver door-knocker earrings poking through wavy brown hair.
“‘Mi hermana la supermodelo,’” I read off the caption. “His sister, I guess.”
The shot bothered me, Joel’s eyes creased like he was about to laugh, or had been laughing before his sister took the picture. He didn’t look like himself at all.
“Awww,” Dario cooed. “See? Not a robot.”

My son is over 30 years old and lives in Michigan. Just need to know if he must have his own insurance to drive my car since my car is registered and insured in Ohio. He only drives it occasionally. He has been there for almost 4 years. I was layed-off back in April and lost the insurance for the family. At that point he requested insurance through his employer. They told him that they would think about it and then came back to him and said that if they give him insurance that they will be forced to start laying people off (implying that they would start with him). I have applied for Medicaid and CHIP and was denied assistance based on my income, I apparently make too much money to qualify. I slightly cross the threshold. If you subtract our bills minus our earnings we re left with peanuts. We only pay for necessities not for commodities. There is nothing I can cut back on because we re paying for the basic stuff. I ve look for insurances but I am having a hard time finding one that covers maternity costs and if they do they re tremendously expensive and out of our reach. Also since it s a pre-existing condition, most insurances don t cover it. Does anyone know about any programs where I can partially pay for the services? Or affordable insurances that I could apply for? I ve researched extensively and can t seem to find anything. I am 10 weeks already and have not had my first pre-natal appointment. It s becoming rather stressful. Any help or information will be appreciated. Thank You.

Urgently need help on car insurance !!?
Hello. I did not retire therefore I need a private insurance plan as well. But, My conditions that I am rated for are permanent and the VA will treat me for complications because of those conditions.
