How would Emily, Velvet, and Charlie react to their barely awake partner kissing them on the forehead and just fall asleep then and there?
Emily, Velvette, and Charlie getting sleepy forehead kisses from their partner
tweaking out, im only on my second post today and my hand is already cramping up hisshiss hiss i gotta lock in usually i dont start cramping until my 5th post notes: reader is gn, short post CWs: none
EMILY
very similar to charlie, shes into a lot of the cheesier cliché romantic stuff, and keeping up with similarities shes going to be laying in bed next to you happily turning over the interaction in her head
has a harder time keeping still afterwards, but she manages to not wake you up... she'd feel just awful if you she did end up waking you up! may cuddle up into you during the night until she falls asleep
will do something in return, whether it be waking you up with kisses or doing something else during the day... she doesnt view it as a transactional thing where she needs to give something in return... she just wants to return the energy!
intended to keep it to herself but she may blurt out what you did out of excitement while talking to you, she didnt mean to gush it just happened!
VELVETTE
shes not all that into affection, much less surprise bursts of it
its not that she doesnt love you or doesnt like doing affection, she just likes knowing when its going to happen, you know?
the only thing saving you from a look is that youre instantly crashing down into the bed.... shes going to let this slide just this once
this is making it sound like shes genuinely mad at you, though, shes not and shes not going to doing anything in retaliation or return for the surprise display
at most she may bring it up casually and tease you for it, lightheartedly with little intent to make you feel ashamed... though does it count as revenge if she enjoys the flushed look on your face when its brought up?
CHARLIE
shes going to want to smother you in kisses back or jump up in joy, ive mentioned before that she loves this sort of thing-
but youre so obviously tired and falling asleep
and she doesnt want to deprive you of sleep when you so obviously need it... so shes going to be sitting quietly thinking about it for a while until she herself falls asleep
not without giving you a kiss as well, even though youre more than knocked out by then
she makes a mental note to "get back at you" by waking you up with kisses in the morning
she gives off theatre kid vibes, shes going to love cheesy cute stuff like this... very easy way to get her in a good mood!

Good luck, babe!
Jennifer Jereau x Emily Prentiss
Cw;; slight angst , no fluff/comfort , slight unrequited love , mentions of cm cases , mentions of explosions
not very long, more of a drabble fic
Masterlist 🍂
Cheerful music filled the air, the outside of David Rossi's house- the large backyard- was decorated in pretty white fairy lights, chairs, and various other furniture and decor items that gave it the impromptu wedding vibe, truly fitting the evenings event; after the whole card faced bank heist fiasco the team had set up a wedding for their friends- Will and JJ.
Emily knew it was selfish of her to have a bitter envious feeling bubble in the pit of her stomach, her heart squeezing in pain as she watched JJ when she'd walked down the makeshift wedding aisle- as she watched the two share on the spot vows while David officiated- as she watched them kiss. It hurt, she knew she had no valid reason to be upset, no real reason at least.
The brunette blinked away the fuzzy sting of salt water from her eyes, lips pulled into a bittersweet smile, brows knit together as she put her best happy face on, Emily knew her feelings for JJ hadn't been returned- she had for a long time, always being a step behind the blonde and her availability, always having something else come up.
She could barely stomach watching the woman she'd had feelings for- for years- get married to someone else, she knew Jennifer, she knew the woman loved Will, but she couldn't help but feel like it was forced, maybe it was wishful thinking but the woman always seemed less interested in men than Emily thought- though she didn't expect to be right, she knew she'd probably be wrong, and that it was selfish of her to hope she was right.
But she couldn't ignore the melancholic expression that'd pass Jennifer's face whenever they'd get a case involving the unaccepted, involving those who've runaway from their less than accepting families, as if she knew how they'd felt, she took a big sip of the beverage in her champagne flute, her lipstick staining the rim, everyone was mingling- dancing, having the time of their lives, while she was left standing by a miscellaneous table, her floral dress making her feel out of place on the side lines, she could never fall for the right person.
She wondered what JJ would think, waking up in the middle of the night, would she be happy?, Would she feel like nothing more than Will's wife?, Would she feel loved?, Oh God Emily hoped, prayed that Jennifer would feel nothing but loved.
It was nearing the time for toasts, of course the wedding festivities were probably out of place; but it was last minute and planned the day before. And no one really seemed to care too much.
Emily- JJ's maid of honor- was stood beside a table as they'd all gotten ready for dinner and drinks, she tapped her fork against her glass carefully. "Attention- Oh God this feels like getting called on by a teacher," she laughed nervously, clearing her throat before holding her champagne flute with two hands, fiddling with the stem. "As you all know, we're here to celebrate the undoubtedly beautiful wedding of Jennifer and William," She'd begun.
"And Will, you're a great guy- but I'm here to talk about your wife, who's objectively greater," Her tone held a hint of humor, earning a few laughs. "Jennifer, I've known you for- years now, honestly it's been so long it feels like a life time," She continued, tone reminiscent. "You are, the most intelligent, beautiful woman that I have ever met. And I'm honestly not surprised you found someone who thinks the same, it'd be hard to think of you as anything less than the best." Emily spoke, eyes watering slightly. "You are ..my best friend-" She paused, voice cracking. "And I adore you, you mean everything to me- to the team, what I'm trying to say is you'll always have a second family with the BAU, Good luck JJ, and if Will fucks up let me know, I'm a great shot." She laughed at the end, earning a chorus of laughter from the others, lowering herself to sit again Emily cleared her throat. Drinking whatever was left of her champagne, locking eyes with the blonde woman dressed in white who sat halfway across the table, the two sharing a look only they could truly understand.
Emily loved Jennifer, but she knew Jennifer would always slip from her hands when she'd get too close, like sand in an hour glass.

Ohhh I have a headcanon question (...again, lol). If the Bellas were to read fanfiction, what would be their go-to tag be?? (eg. found family, enemies to lovers, hurt/no comfort etc)
ooo i like this one! ty for asking (once again /pos) . this basically turned into a list of every au to exist but. whatever. they like aus okay.
Beca: tbh i feel like she would intentionally find the worst (i, by no means, intend to offend anyone with that) smut fics and laugh at them. on the other hand, her inner teen angst would probably take over and she'd read awfully angsty stuff. like Whump / dd:dne level shit. but also found family fluff?? depends on the day. her top tags are probably Hurt/Comfort, Found Family, Enemies to Lovers (even though she'd never admit to any of them willingly)
Chloe: Fake Dating AU (with no further explanation, sorry). mostly she doesn't necessarily search for specific tags, just scrolls through an entire fandom/ship/character tag and reads whatever's interesting enough. deep deep down she does have a thing for Vampire AUs. lord knows why. also maybe kinda Slowburn?? she absolutely will sit down and read fifty chapters of insanely gut wrenching heart break and then sob over it for days even if it has a happy ending. Aubrey: Canon Divergent AU. or just AUs in general (childhood friends, soulmates.. yk whatever there is) i think. she likes to see authors put their own twists into what actually happened. also maybe because her favourite ships and characters always get ruined by whoever's behind the actual media,,, but that's like. totally unrelated. Stacie: High School AU. do you guys see the vision here?? because i don't know how to explain it in coherent words. but she's all for the teen drama. (later in life) on very random occasions she also reads Family Fluff because it reminds her of Bella and she loves Bella. Amy: she finds the most disturbing, explicit tags known to mankind. Improper Use Of Eyesocket? Creating a New Hole? Watersports? yeah. those. and worse. nobody knows how she's even able to read them. Emily: Found Family, Fluff, Light Angst, Fluff and Angst, Hurt/Comfort (which she often mistakes for hurt/no comfort and regrets it for months after). she LOVES fluff and all the mushy gushy stuff. but also kinda similarly to Chloe, she can get lost in an intense Slowburn for a while. and cry about it after she finishes. Flo: she absolutely reads Smut. dirty mf. if not smut then probably Found Family as well (seems to be a common theme with them all). Firefighter AUs are also high up on her list for some reason?? i mean i don't blame her Cynthia Rose: i feel like if i went with how her character is (sadly) portrayed in the movies, then Lesbian Sex would be the obvious answer. but i feel like she'd be more of a Marriage / Wedding kinda girl. she's in love with the idea of making a huge deal out of it to show everyone how much you care about someone and spending your life with them. Lilly: can she read?? does she know the concept of fanfiction??? questions that will forever go unanswered. no, but seriously though she'd read the most odd-yet-normal shit (eg. Fluff with a side of Murder) Ashley: Childhood Friends to Lovers, i don't know how to elaborate further. she just gives off that vibe. if we go deeper into her search history though there are some very intense Hurt/Comfort fics from her early to late teens Jessica: she's absolutely one of those crazy readers who will love the most desperate Whump fics ever on one day, then completely flip to Tooth Rotting Fluff on the other. it very much depends on her mood, mental wellbeing and whether she's angry at the world or not. most of the time not. so she just reads Fluff like 24/7, not that she'd tell anyone. (except Ashley, but that doesn't even count) this was kind of a difficult one because i blacked out the second i tried to think about what tags are out there, but i hope it was up to expectations 🫡

Your turn! >:D 3, 16, 25
Thank goodness I've been tracking my reading this year, or I'd be sunk, lol
3. What were your top five books of the year?
Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come by Jessica Pan *The introvert book for me. The author details her efforts to try new things to push herself out of the introvert comfort zone, from going on friend dates to stand-up comedy, the latter of which I am wildly impressed by and would never do even at gunpoint. The writing is hilarious, and it really nudged at me in an elbow-in-the-side kind of way to try and try some more spontaneous or intimidating things in my own life.
Atomic Habits by James Clear *One thing about me is that I love "life hacks," especially with habits because I am just...garbage at picking up good habits on my own. This is a neat look at how habits can help (or hurt) in your life, a bit on the psychology of how and why our brains encode things as habit or instinct, and how starting incredibly small on a habit you're trying to add can give you something to build on. For example, one of his suggestions is the two-minute version of any habit. So if you want to start working out regularly, the two-minute version of that is literally just putting on workout clothes. That's it, that's your daily habit. Then once that's become second nature, you put on the clothes and lay out your yoga mat, or walk down the sidewalk, and so on. Makes it seem very approachable and less of a "you should be embarrassed you can't handle just Doing The Whole Thing" attitude and more of a "you're training yourself to show up, and building from there."
Book Lovers by Emily Henry *I read this one mainly because my sister really enjoyed it and aggressively recommended it so she'd have someone to talk about it with. It's not one I would have picked on my own--because 1. it's a rom-com, and 2. it's in first person--but I seriously enjoyed it. Basic premise is that the main character is a literary agent who is well aware she is the Uptight Businesswoman who gets dumped for the Down-to-Earth Local Lady in every Hallmark movie (and in fact, the book literally opens that way). Her sister drags her along on a sibling bonding trip, with a checklist of basically every wholesome small-town activity, in hopes of giving her her own Hallmark movie experience, complete with whirlwind romance--which does happen, but not quite as you'd expect.
One of the things I enjoyed most about this book is how self-aware it is. It's not quite like staring into the camera on The Office, but the main character thinks in tropes and talks like an editor and there's this very well-done sly wink-nudge kind of undertone, not quite a fourth wall break but almost like the author is tapping on it throughout going 'we all know where this is going, right?' It's not overdone or heavy-handed, but it's kind of...I don't even know how to describe it. Matryoshka doll-ass story; a literary agent unable to stop seeing the tropes in her own life, in a book about rom-com tropes vs real life. It's a fun read, and one of the few books I've read lately that made me want to buy it, which I never do with books unless I know I'll reread them. (I also saw a hell of a lot of myself in the main character, in a very 'I came out here to have a good time and I'm feeling so attacked right now,' so that was a bit of a trip, lol.)
The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith *This one has one of the most interesting premises I've come across in a while, which is that there is a library in Hell of all the manuscripts that writers have started and never finished (I know, I'm wondering how many books would be in there from me too, lol). But the character in one book escapes, and the librarian has to go to the real world to chase him down.
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree *Very entertaining D&D-esque novel. Found family vibes, some skullduggery, and building a new life through spite, friendship, and a bit of magic; it's a fun read.
16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year?
I think it'd have to be The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes, with the caveat that the only "hype" I had for it was the review blurbs I read on the back cover, lol. As an introvert and someone who does not like leaving my comfort zone/routine where I know exactly what to do/expect, I was hoping to enjoy this one like I did Sorry I'm Late, but I just didn't. I didn't vibe with the writing style at all, to the point that it probably should have been a DNF because now that I think about it, I can't remember any specific takeaways. Still going to try and apply the general concept this coming year of saying yes to more opportunities, but yeah, it wasn't quite the 'tour de force, etc etc' I was expecting from the reviews.
25. What reading goals do you have for next year?
Read more, lol. I know it's simple, but I've really fallen out of reading the past couple years thanks to various causes (depression nerfing my focus, work making me not want to brain at all in my free time) so I'm trying to get back to that. I read a total of 18* this year, so next year's goal is bare minimum of 20, ideally 24 for a nice two books a month. Oh, and to work through some of my bought-to-read-but-they're-still-unread stack, because I've hauled some of those through two moves and still haven't read them, and I'm getting annoyed with myself about it.
(*this number could still go up because I'm flying to my parents' for Christmas, so you know, airport reading time.)

My Personal Headcanons on Grell's Past Life (A Masterdoc)
*with excerpts from a draft that will never see the light of day!
The autism got to me ok
Now before we start, I feel like I have to add some disclaimers, number one being everything about this isn't really based on anything concrete, this is strictly my delusions. Second being if there's a flunk in the time period, ignore it. Turn your brain off.
Mr and Mrs Sutcliff
Before our beloved baby girl, there are, of course, her parents. They're nameless in my head, only going by Mr Sutcliff and Mrs Sutcliff. Grell doesn't remember either (more on that in a later post about her reaper years). Her parents were happily married actually, her father knew he had to marry well and coincidentally fell for the best lady during his time. Her mother fancies a handsome man in a suit, perhaps that's where Grell got her taste in men
Her father had brown hair while her mother had red hair which she inherited along with the kind-yet-kinda-arrogant eye shape her mother has. Yet despite that, she looks more like her father: perpetual smile, sharp chin, a more angled face rather than a rounder one, broad shoulders, his eye color (I have never thought abt her eye color before Dispatch so imagine it as you like). Grell's attitude is a mix of both families, the good and the mostly bad coping response
They also know about her 'homosexuality' and her father states that it's fine as long as no one else knows. Their song is Our Word, TRUST
Early life
1840 - 1858
Grell Sutcliff, in my mind, was born to a wealthy old money family. She was her parents only child and as a son, they knew early on they had to teach her to be a respectable young man to be a good heir for her father's business. She's not close to any of her parents; her dad was fine enough to joke around with but he has his moments of anger (I see them like how Emily Dickinson and her father were potrayed in Dickinson) and her mother—though more soft-spoken—was strict with decorum and required Grell to act appropriately at all times no matter what
She had some cousins but most notable would be Martha who was 8 years old when Grell herself was 18. Martha was Grell's first exposure to her hobbies that are seen as feminine like sewing and dressing up but still no 'awakening' yet
She used to be very obedient and less outspoken with her opinions, some even regard her as a serious person who is above anything that isn't seen as polite. During social events, you can usually find her chatting away with people of the highest status but afterwards, she'll be very tired and would look disgruntled somewhat (my girl is tired of masking). Usually when that happens, she'd slip out of the party for a break, this is where she gets the opportunity of a lifetime, the cataclyst of everything actually
As seen above, at 18, Grell was invited to an event by Aubrey Churchill at his country house (privacy reasons, he said) which was actually more of a lively party for bohemians alike which wasn't something Grell was used to. Though she felt overwhelmed, out of place and slightly judgmental about it at first, she frequents the event more in the future after meeting her best friend Charlotte Moore
Crisis
1858 - 1862
Brown hair, blue eyes, and a fiery spirit, Charlotte was an upper-middle young lady who aspired to be a writer and mostly dabbles in poetry and short stories. She was Grell's first 'gender envy' which Grell misinterpreted as a crush so when Charlotte privately turned down her proposal to court her—stating that she didn't really see Grell as a future husband—, she got over it pretty quick and the two remained friends even when Charlotte moved to New York when they were 22
When Grell turned 19, she met Charlotte's cousin and a son from Grell's family friend, Julian Williams who was around 24 years old, no bitches, no rizz, bad vibes. They became fast friends, too fast actually. Julian's a dick and ended up using her as an experiment/for funsies :///. Charlotte attempted to get Grell cut the relationship off BUT THE ASSHOLE IS LIKE LICE, HE JUST WON'T GET OFF. Eventually, Grell does call their fwb situationship off when they almost got caught and Grell decided that "hey, maybe I don't want to get stoned for getting caught making out with someone who doesn't even like me enough"
Things have not gotten better because at 20, she gets stuck in ANOTHER situationship, girl FIGHT BACK. With none other than Aubrey and Eleanor Churchill (married couples are freaks) who were 25 years old and 20 years old respectively when they first coaxed Grell to join in on their... weird fuck pile. They treated her better than He Who Must Not Be Named and they did ignite her love for theatre and acting but still... on thin ice
Anyway, they don't matter. All you need to know is that they eventually drifted away from the situationship all together because they found someone else
Jane Doe, The Only One Who Deserves Rights
1862 - 1868
MY BELOVED JANE DOE (not her real name obvi), if you've read TWBDT you know she was Grell's wife during her human years and that she was a lesbian who was looking for a beard. Why, you ask? Because Julian is a pisshead who was jealous that Grell moved on to the Churchill and decided that the best way to remedy his jealousy is by spreading a rumor about her 'true nature' as if he wasn't sleeping with her beforehand ://
Mr Sutcliff had no time for such bullshittery and basically told Grell to pack her shit up and get a wife quickly. During this time, Grell wrote a letter to Charlotte:
Idk what else to put during their relationship aside from the fact that it was only with Jane that Grell started to question her gender a bit because she's the only one who isn't a raging transphobic cunt (sorry y'all Charlotte's a victim of her time, she changed later on though). Unfortunately girlie didn't connect the dots faster and ended up having a one-sided crush on Jane rip. They're cute and I wish they were real :( wholesome yuri
DEATH~✩
1869
Unfortunately, all good things do come to an end. 1869 in particular was a hard year for her because that's when the pressure starts caving in on her. Aside from her father forcing them to have kids already, Grell's starting to realize that her life just sucks man. As much as she loved Jane, it's not fun marrying someone for status and appearances only and not for love. Long story short, she ended up breaking down under the intense pressure after a huge fight with her father and she died via slitting her wrists in a locked bathroom in her home with Jane getting inside way too late
Grell died pissed off, believing that her suicide was as an act of revenge against her family because now, they don't have a heir that came directly from their bloodline, and overall became a bitter and jaded person she was in the reaper OVA

pll rewatch 2x11
the liars spill to sullivan. it goes well, then it goes bad.
Spencer: "Well, unless you're Aria's mom. Just assume it's Spencer slutting it up!"
I love how annoyed Spencer is by this, fairly, why is she getting blamed for this when she's shooed off her own grown creepster
Emily =( She drives off without her phone, running herself to exhaustion in the woods before turning up to Sullivan's, where all her friends await her.
Does Hanna know Emily's phone passcode? Phones did have passcodes in 2010, right? Why can't I remember this I literally had a cellphone then....
Emily: "I can't keep asking my friends to take care of me."
Emily, when! When have you asked your friends to take care of you! It would be nice if you did!
I am sure I will bring this up in later seasons too but sometimes Emily concerns me the most of the Liars because it's like. Spencer and Hanna have self-destruction modes that are loud even when they're trying not to be, and while Aria's priorities are whack to me I do generally believe she'll look out for herself and what she specifically wants
But Emily...oh boy...
Ella & Byron have an whisper-argument in the kitchen about Mike going on medication and they are so annoying. Why can't they ever have normal conversations instead of immediately arguing, and why does Ella bring Aria into this argument too
"Can you move your stick? There are people trying to get past you" Emily's turn to be so bad about the blind girl!
Do enjoy Jenna going lol convenient for the school to care about bullying now that Ali's dead
Hanna initially refuses the offer of vodka from Kate
I enjoy Emily and Ashley having this conversation about regrets and exes in this dimly lit kitchen that made my friends question the placement of the microwave
Is there a bit of an Ashley/Emily vibe here? Maybe so, I'm down with it
Ashley Marin's power is that I do not judge her at all for sharing her feelings on her ex-husband with the teenager staying in her house, even as I constantly judge the Montgomerys for how they treat Aria
Montgomery family dynamics are fucked btw, what do you mean Ella can't trust Byron with the info that Mike pushed her
Emily says "I've done that more than once" when Ashley talks about making up the other side of the conversation when the person isn't there, and she picks up her phone to text someone
Maya! They really re-introduce her out of nowhere, like is this the first time Emily reached out since that danceathon phone call and Maya's like uh yeah I'm back and was willing to drive 45 minutes to meet Emily that night
Also, is Emily having second dinner for this?
Rosewood PD fucking suck, Sullivan gets no help from them at all.
Spencer and Toby are making out in his truck right outside Jason's house, and Spencer is like who the fuck is in there
Surprise, it's dad! Peter Hastings is here to throw a gigantic temper tantrum and good job Toby on buttoning up your shirt really fast to not enrage him further
The whole time this scene happened all I could think about was that Peter Hastings' actor voices Nathan Drakes skldfjslkdf. It's the tantrum voice that made me think of that probably
Maya making jokes about Pam spying on their dinner is totally fair given Pam got her sent off to wilderness camp
Maya is allergic to seafood per S1 why did they give her a line about calamari. Or is it supposed to be the point that she's here for Emily and not the calamari. That's giving the writers too much credit I think
Aria trying to be a good older sister to poor Mike, who's going through it.
Enjoy the writers deciding to include Grandma Marin in a flashback since they have the actress this episode
Spencer is clearly charmed by her
Grandma Marin saying "I don't own anyone. There was a war about that. Read a book" is an insane response to Ali asking her if she'd disown one of her kids
Spencer will not get any answers from her father tonight, but does she ever?
Aria is so tired of keeping secrets within this family huh
omg I forgot about the two bottles - one water, one vodka - reveal, and that Grandma Marin figures it out
Not Paige catching strays when Emily catches Maya up on what she's been up to 😭. I would not normally think of this as mean of the show because the show takes shots at everyone, but because fandom is terrible about Paige and always wants her to die for the head dunk, I do think of it as mean :/
I would enjoy seeing Maya interact with Paige or Samara though, that'd be fun

gio and emily for the ship meme - maybe? <3
Ship Meme !!
Who wakes up first? I have the feeling it would be either of them! Gio is certainly not a sleep in kind of person, and Emily is an early riser because she just has too much energy and loves waking up early
Who is grumpiest in the morning? Loooool Isn't the question already pretty self-explanatory itself? Gio is grumpy 24/7!
Who cooks breakfast? 100% Emily, no doubts. Although Gio is one reliable guy, so maybe he'd try it, provided Emily lets him do it. Cue to them cooking breakfast together.
Who serves the other breakfast in bed? Again, without any doubt, Emily would. She'd stride into the bedroom, exuding her usual sugar and all things nice kind of energy, an awesome breakfast in hand. Yes, that's my mental image.
Who suggests the skip work and stay home? I mean, Emily loves her job, and loves going to her bakery, so she wouldn't really suggest that, but he sort of would, I think. Just to get her out of the bakery lol
Who falls asleep on top of the other? 100000% Emily.
Who always has to be touching the other? 100000% Emily.
Who stays up until 2 reading? She's not really a reader, so she wouldn't. Gio gives off a intellectual sort of vibe, so if anything, maybe he would.
Who kisses their partner while they’re sleeping? Either would :)
Who is most adventurous? Mhmmm, I wanna say both of them!
Who is most protective? Both are the protective kind. Being the older sister in her family, Emily's always looked after everyone, so she's naturally protective.
Who cares too much? Same as above really. Gio wouldn't show it as openly, but he really cares.
Who is most competitive? I can imagine them being competitive about the silliest things, to be honest. Perhaps Emily could be a little be more competitive, but I'm sure it would be like super silly and cute things.
Who sings in the shower? Emily 100%.
Who is more likely to get naughty in inappropriate places? Gio, no hesitation whatsoever here.
Rate this ship: 100000/10

Adding my personal and biased idea of the kind of Pokemon Entrapta would work with, with some quick Why's below.
(Not adding the ones OP posted for repetitive reasons)
Magnezone - It's just Emily.
Rotom - Hyperactive Zippy Maniac that loves getting a very literal look at the inside of most Technologies.
Klinklang - That's just. It's big cogs and gears. She probably built one of these in the show at some point.
Celesteela - Darla.
Hatterene - Little Pink Creature that uses a proportionally massive amount of hair to get around and is very sensitive to the emotions of other people? You can figure that one out.
Tinkaton - You can also figure that one out. I believe in you. You got this.
Rhydon and Aggron - Similar Body Plan, Stature and even Names, only one is covered in black-blue and white armor with a bony mask and red eyes. Once again... You'll connect the dots. I trust.
Mega Mawhile - Pigtailed Gremlin Creature mixing the mysterious fairy type vibe with the more industrial steel. 4th times the charm! You can get this one!
Gimmighoul - This one was more of a filler slot I'll admit. Entrapta does have an affinity for tiny things tho, and Gimmi is pretty tiny just like the coins it collects. It also has that scared and unsure nature that makes it hide in its chest - which I think Entrapta couldn't help but feel a connection to, Autism and all. And she would be so goddamn proud once it finally evolves and gets that confidence she wants for it.
Alakazam - Big Brain Pokemon for a Big Brain Woman.
And finally.
Porygon-Z.
Because Entrapta loves her experiments - even the "failed" ones. She'd make the little duck feel so loved it would thank Arceus it came out imperfect in just the perfect way.
Pokemon i personally think entrapta would have as a pokemon trainer/scientist :D
Feel free to add some more if you think of any!
#I'm just having a brain day#Maybe it's the lack of sleep#Who knows#I'm also a sucker for Spop x Pokemon#Spokemon...

Hi Morri! I'm sorry that your mom was positive, I hope she gets the least symptoms possible (I passed covid as well, so I hope her and my experience are close, since I was almost asymptomatic)
I've seen that one of your comfort movies is The Princess Bride!! It's my mom's favorite, and we even have it on DvD so that she can watch it as many times as she'd like. (Honestly, I watch it a lot cause...It's a great movie ngl)
Since we are all talking about Six of Crows (as well, awesome book, great taste), have you read or heard about The Gilded Wolves?? It has definitely similar vibes in terms of heist and characters, but it's on an alternate 19th Paris. I'd say is sort of steampunk with magic<3
Also I am very much on board with your book recommendations, you know I'm always looking for new books to read and since you have such a great taste, I'd love it if you could tell me a couple of your favorites...
Right now I'm reading When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhil, a novel about women in the 1950's who turn into dragons when they feel opressed (so basically feminism with a layer of metahpor, which is cool, cause who wouldn't want to turn into a dragon and unleash anger??)
I'm here if you need someone to talk to, no matter what it is, I'm sure we can figure out a topic of conversation to distract you from everything that's going on
take care, my love<3

Hi Carmen!!!
The Princess Bride is one of my all-time favorite movies! If you like it, you should definitely watch Stardust. It's kind of similar (goofy fantasy romance movie), and I love it dearly. Magic, flying pirates, romance, and comedy. And lots and lots of ghosts. I highly recommend it!
Funnily enough I heard of The Gilded Wolves for the first time a few minutes ago, from @nicola-writes. It's most definitely going on my "books to buy" list.
Some of my favorite books:
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein a woman pilot and a woman spy (who are best friends) accidentally end up in each other's places during WWII.
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel the before, during, and after of a world-ending illness, and the story of how one person's passion project connected many, many lives.
Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir Science based science fiction, with the best take on extraterrestrial life I've ever seen in media. (it actually makes fucking sense!!)
The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones a fairytale-esque story based on welsh mythology. the dead won't stay dead, and a gravedigger and a mapmaker are going to fix it.
Vicious by V.E. Schwab a super-powers story where no one is "good" or "evil". also the only piece of media I've ever seen that has a logical explanation for not only who gets powers, but also why they get what powers.
The Illuminae Files by Aimee Kaufman and Jay Kristoff a sci-fi trilogy told entirely via collected documents. (message logs, transcript of security videos, etc.) sarcasm, lovable characters, and some found family in a way.
If you plan to read any of these, please look up the trigger warnings!! All of these have some pretty dark themes.

Dark Roast
Notes: Thanks to the lovely Anon who sent me the Whump of July prompt list, I'm going to have some fun playing around this month! This is for the 4th - PTSD, but I didn't have time to finish it and post yesterday after I got done with Surge of Twilight so it's a day late. (I listened to Pearl Jam's No Code on repeat while writing this so...vibes.)
Warnings: Depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, stab wounds, PTSD
Words: ~1300
It was dark in his office, the lamp on the desk casting huge shadows across the reports he had left to review. The scent of coffee, bitter and acidic hung in the air and he breathed it in deep. After hours, the coffee pot was his. A sacred tradition. The last agents would file out of the bullpen and then he would scrub the pot clean of the day's cheap FBI sludge and pour in just enough for two cups of his own, the good stuff, the stuff he kept hidden in his bottom desk drawer behind the budget meeting minutes. He would open the bag of whole beans, a small batch roasted and sent to him from a friend in Seattle, and breathe it in deep. Sure, he should have kept the bag in the freezer but it would never last long enough to need to. He kept the grinder in the drawer beside it and always used it at his desk, allowing the heady scent to penetrate his office while he brewed in the break room. There was no hurry, he followed every step in the same way every night, a methodical shift from one to the next. There was comfort in this routine.
Since Foyet, since losing Jack and Haley, he had no reason to go home. Not really. You could get a lot more done in the quiet of night. No phones ringing, no knocks at your door, no meetings. He was there during the daytime hours because he was expected to be but night was when he got the most done. It was a careful balance, sharing that part of himself without giving too much away - yes, he stayed late, and yes he got work done, but there was more to it than that.
The team knew and there wasn't anything they could do. Emily would pop up before going home and ask if he was out of there soon, if he wanted to grab a drink and he politely declined. "Not supposed to drink right now," he would say dismissively, as if that would stop her worrying. Dave would offer him a ride home, JJ and Spencer would drop odd hints about how nice it was going to be to relax in their own homes after a hard day. Derek hadn't tried anything yet, he just watched with those hawk eyes of his and kept score. No matter the ruse, Aaron never took the bait, was steadfast in his denial that anything was wrong. He'd go home, he assured them. He always did, at some point.
Home. None of them had any idea what that meant to him anymore and that was part of the problem. His home had been a beautiful, idyllic house in Alexandria with a fence and a gate and a lush green yard. He worked hard for that house, filled it with beautiful things and beautiful people and walking through that door was something he looked forward to all day. From the moment he walked out that door in the morning he thought about what it would feel like to walk back in, to see the people who adored him. It was everything he'd ever wanted in life - a happy home. A safe home where he was allowed to take up as much or as little space as he needed. He'd dreamed of feeling safe in his walls since he was a child, a luxury he'd never been afforded. He worked hard for it and Haley never could understand that motivation, that desperation, she'd never known a home to be unsafe, she'd never known what it was like to be unwanted and unwelcome.
He'd earned that home. That safe place, that place of love and it drove them apart.
Too soon it was gone, and he was left with a cold apartment and no one to come home to. Sometimes Jack would stay with him, spend a few days in a row there when the team wasn't out of town and it would be a nightmare. Passing Jack from parent to parent, he never settled. He would be so excited when Aaron picked him up from school and their first night was always bliss – pizza and a movie, routine. They both craved routine. In that same vein, as the week wore on, a different routine took root and Jack began acting out. Not listening, screaming, breaking his toys. Sometimes getting to sleep in Aaron's bed helped, other times it made it worse. By the end of their week they were both a mess and Haley considered whether she should let Jack stay there anymore. But she never took him away, just did what she could to help.
It wasn't his beautiful Alexandria home but it was still his, he was still safe there. Still welcome to take up space there.
Until Foyet, and then Jack didn't have to worry about his routine anymore. Didn't have to worry about those fun times with daddy ending because they wouldn't happen at all. He sat himself up in that hospital bed and did his best to look okay but the gauze against his neck was itchy and even through the morphine being pumped directly into his veins he was in so much pain that he found it hard to talk. There was Jack, though, sitting in front of him looking so scared about something he couldn't understand and he fought the morphine, he sat up and he hugged his son against him, warmth and love against the searing pain left behind by Foyet and his knife. The only reason he survived, wanted to live at all was there against him and it hurt so bad to hold him there but he couldn't let him go. The look in Haley's eyes, a look of contempt, of anguish and confusion haunted him long after she took Jack and walked out that door.
He'd lost count of how many times he'd ruined her life in the pursuit of his own foolhardy dreams.
Going back to that apartment afterward was hell. Unbearable. He barricaded himself in because he had no idea how Foyet entered and that tormented him more than the constant pain, the blood, the wounds that he wasn't sure would ever heal. The blood was gone, the hole was patched up but it was all cosmetic. The damage was done. He sat up day and night on edge, his pistol at his side, painkillers untouched because they might dull his senses enough that he'd miss another sign. Some nights he sat with a knife splayed across his thighs, thinking about John Blackwolf and his 21 foot speech. Proportional threat. His old routines had vanished, new ones taking their places. Counting the locks on the front door, something that had concerned Derek and Emily terribly, was only the tip of the iceberg. There were locks on the windows, breakable items placed beneath each one just in case. Jack's room was barricaded off, no entry, no exit. It ceased to exist. Nothing left, no trace of a family, of smiles, just empty walls and locks and alarm systems.
It shouldn't have been so surprising to anyone that he wouldn't want to be there. Midnight at Quantico was his home, his safe place. 34 days. That's how long he lasted. How long it took to push him to the brink. Between the hospital and the time spent holed up in that apartment losing his mind. Imagining scenarios that would never happen, letting Foyet win, losing control. He wasn't living, he was barely surviving. When he asked his doctor if he could go back to work, he looked over the chart, his drastic weight loss, the emptiness in his eyes and he couldn't imagine a world in which going back to work would be any worse for Aaron than staying home already was. His wounds were healed well enough, the rest would take time but time was in short supply for a man who craved order and control and had lost it all in the blink of an eye. Now he was losing his grip entirely.
Suicidal, Aaron watched his doctor scribble it in his chart. He didn't argue, supposed that might just be what he was if you broke it down. He wasn't actively pursuing it but it was there, he knew it was looming and he wasn't doing anything to stop its advances.
Signing his release papers had been an act of faith on behalf of his physician and therapist, they believed they were conspiring to save Aaron's life.
Now all he had was his coffee. This office and its long shadows and drafty old windows was home. It was safe, guarded twenty four hours a day by highly skilled agents and security officers. The team couldn't understand it, why he would sleep on his couch, shower in the locker rooms, only go home for necessities. Going home meant reliving it all, every harrowing moment. From Jack's fits to losing Jack entirely, from hanging the mirror to the bullet hole and fresh paint beside it, from sleeping in a new bed for the first time to bleeding out on the floor. There could be no healing there and yet he couldn't let it go. He'd earned it. How many times would he cling to that defiantly? Would he scratch and claw until his fingers bled all over the lease?
“Why don't you move? I have four rental properties, you can stay in one until you find a new place...” Derek had offered, fear sparking in his eyes at the realization that it had been days since Aaron had gone home. He'd waited until he was sure of what was going on, what he could offer, how he could help. Aaron smiled, a genuine smile because all he'd ever wanted was for someone to want him in their walls and here was Derek, the last person he would have ever considered, beckoning him in. Welcoming him with open arms, saving a place just for him. He couldn't do it even if the very, very bigness of it made his eyes shine with tears. “C'mon Hotch. You can't live like this.”
Derek was wrong, though. This was the only way he could live.
If Foyet wanted to take him there, in his office with his mug of expensive coffee, he was welcome to try.

hhhhh I want to talk to someone about pr samurai so badly + I can dm you if u want but do u have any specific LGBT headcanons for the samurai rangers (including antonio and maybe lauren)? because I love them and I have not had anyone to talk with about samurai for years!! i have not seen the sentai series for samurai yet tho so idk anything about it, sorry! ^^'
oh no i have to break this up. sorry for writing a charles dickens novel in response to your ask but feel free to not read all of this and also dm me i promise i won't ramble at you like this and we can have an Actual conversation.
HEADCANONS
i'm going to preface this by saying that most of my sexuality hcs change depending on whatever pairing(s) is/are in place which is also why i elaborate too much. also this became more of a general gender/sexuality hc thing than an lgbt thing specifically so i am so sorry.
JAYDEN- either gay or bi in a sense that he doesn't care too much about it. i Personally see him as gay because i can't see him with any of the girls, but i don't dislike seeing him with mia or emily. i'm just neutral/not too invested in it. he's "yeah i only like guys" to me but "yeah i don't care about gender" while he's with mia or emily is cool too.
irt jayden gender-wise i'm pretty much neutral about anything. i don't see him as strictly cis or trans but, definitely has a solid grasp on his gender. he's taken the needed time to consider any possibilities and recognise what's right for himself.
my biggest ship with jayden is kevin with antonio close behind, but i don't mind him with any of the other rangers. jayden and antonio have the foil dynamic going for them, but i've always liked kevin and jayden's trusting bond and the idea of reminding each other to take care of themselves.
MIA- either bi or a lesbian, but i Personally see her as bi. she's probably conflicted about her orientation for a while either way. with mia as bi, she seems like she'd like people of all genders rather than just People regardless of gender.
mia's a trans girl! she knows how to work with children & cope with change, but it probably took her a while to realise that there was an internal change she would have to come to terms with. i can also see her as nonbinary and fem-aligned very well.
my major pairing with mia is kevin. they're so cute and i love them. i also really like mia with emily, so if mia was only with emily then i'd vibe with lesbian mia. mia with either kevin or emily is sweet because each pair really loves and supports and appreciates each other. i also like her with lauren when i forget to repress that lauren exists and then get mad that lauren barely got any Girl Interactions.
KEVIN- bi, gay, or straight all depending on the pairing, honestly. i'm flexible with it since i can easily see him any way, but he'd ideally be bi. it would take him a while to figure himself out even if he did end up being straight, though, since he'd go from the big picture of whether he wants romance at all and have a big existential crisis until he actually has a personal experience which would tell him the answer.
kevin is a trans guy and i Will die on that hill. he definitely struggled with it for a while because he would accept himself but not fully trust others being as accepting. it would also give his swim motif a more meaningful role since, assuming he was into swimming as a kid, he would have had to go through a lot in order to accept his body enough to swim competitively. he would ultimately be able to, considering his disciplined and determined nature. plus, it would give him more of a reason to continue working towards swimming in the olympics while still serving as a samurai ranger because he would hate to see all that he'd worked towards just Go Away.
i STILL don't know whether i prefer kevin with jayden or mia. with only jayden i can see him as gay or bi and with only mia i can see him as bi or straight. i do like the idea of him dating both jayden and mia though which is why bi kevin is endgame. jayden and kevin would have a relationship based on trust, respect, and care, while mia and kevin would have a relationship based on understanding, security, and appreciation. i can see him with mike, emily, and antonio, too, but more to a neutral extent rather than one where i go apeshit thinking about them.
MIKE- ah, mike. i'm not sure about his orientation at all, honestly. while i do like him with emily, which would imply that he would be straight or bi, i know that he and jayden are a common pair which i don't mind. i don't see him as a genuinely romantic guy though, honestly. i guess to me he's aromantic until a pairing comes along lmao.
as for gender, i generally see mike as nonbinary, not necessarily aligned or unaligned with anything. unaligned would make his orientation due for a revision if i had ever managed to firmly settle on anything besides bi or aromantic. mike gives off vibes like. gender could be anything. nonbinary and unaligned, nonbinary and aligned masc or fem, binary cis or trans guy, nonbinary lesbian specifically, etc. etc. i'm just open to anything irt mike's gender.
i kind if went over ships already but my only Real ship for him is with emily. i feel as if i like their friendship more than i'd like them as a romantic couple, though. i've seen people ship him with jayden and/or mike which is also cool. so once again: i'm open for anything when it comes to mike.
EMILY- lesbian! although i can also see her as bi if the ship calls for it. no explanation that's it. finally a blunt answer from me.
i like to think that emily is nonbinary and fem aligned. it's probably the yellow motif though since it's in the nonbinary flag and the pink & yellow nonbinary lesbian flag which went around for a while but i haven't seen recently. with both orientation and gender, emily would only struggle with anything as long ss she didn't have a word or label for it. she'd probably have the whole "i like girls but i'm not sure if i'm a girl? but i'm not a guy. like. i'm either a girl or have no gender at all but i feel like both at once. i'm a girl in Theory" for a while. it doesn't matter what if any gender she was assigned at birth to me because it doesn't affect the rest of my hc for her.
my main ship for her is mia! as i said earlier, can see her with mike, but i definitely prefer their friendship over a romance. i don't mind her with any other rangers but i Very Much Prefer her saying lesbian rights with mia.
antonio- gay rights. but as with every single damn samurai ranger, i can also see him as bi for the sake of ships.
for me antonio's masc-aligned or unaligned whatever gender he's got. i don't really mind any interpretation of him as binary/nonbinary, cis/trans, etc. since i don't think it would alter much of his character besides showing something that's changed since he and jayden were little. he is just sitting there.
my only Real antonio ship is antonio and jayden, but i kind of like him with kevin or mia, too. mostly because he shows that he trusts kevin and shows up performing at a concert with mia in megaforce.
lauren- lauren is a lesbian and i am so mad about how she was treated. i am so mad. any gender where she can be a lesbian. otp is lauren and some good writing followed closely by her and mia.
COMPARISON
i'd definitey give samurai sentai shinkenger a watch, keeping in mind what one usually does when going back and forth between super sentai and power rangers. (those are "this is going to be more heart-wrenching, dramatic, and intense than the power rangers season" and "this is going to be more childish, friendly, and cringey than the super sentai series".)
i would say the major differences are that samurai sentai shinkenger focuses more on indivuals and the past while power rangers samurai focuses more on friendships and the present, which isn't uncommon for any media with japan -> usa localisations.
we see this first especially in green's first big episode. chiaki (shinken green) has to accept that he put his friends, who'd seen him become shinken green, in the hospital by his own selfishness and dissent, and the other shinkenger look down upon him for this. meanwhile, mike (green ranger) has to come to terms with the fact that he has to avoid his old friends so he doesn't endanger them with the help and support of his fellow rangers. his outside friends suffered minimal (if any) injuries and didn't see him become the green ranger. the two greens share a similar place in their samurai teams in that they serve as a rebellious "weak link" who have their closest bond with yellow. while mike's first arc is lighter and easier for kids to understand, chiaki's holds a sense of depth and sympathy which draws audiences closer to him as a character.
and, as usual, super sentai has higher stakes than power rangers. we can see this early once again during the episode where a gedoushuu/nighlok makes the whole "give up your dreams to see your grandpa again" deal with a little kid. in power rangers samurai, the kid throws his baseball materials in the trash. in samurai sentai shinkenger, though, not only does he throw his baseball materials away, but purposefully jumps from a high place and messes up his leg with the purpose of rendering himself physically unable to play baseball. power rangers was much more about the psychological implications of giving up on dreams while super sentai focuses on the full picture of giving up oneself for a false promise. the message also seems to shift from "stay true to yourself" to "don't destroy yourself trying to retrieve things you'll never have again."
also, the shinkenger show obvious respect towards takeru (shinken red). they have a blatant "leader and subordinates" dynamic, which vastly differs from the rangers. jayden (red ranger), though officially the "leader," receives respect from the other rangers when they genuinely respect him as both a leader and a friend. this may also tie back to the fact that in samurai sentai shinkenger, we know the characters' backstories and more about the shiba clan, while in power rangers samurai, we hardly know anything about everyone's backstories.
and, of course, with the power rangers series you have to sit through cringey voice-overs during battles. honestly, though, samurai is a series/season which hardly differs in plot from super sentai to power rangers, especially compared to series/seasons like magiranger/mystic force. the differences mostly lie in the intensity of the shit the characters go through, which eventually rack up to vary the series' themes altogether.
MY CRINGE ONIONS
personally, i really do like both. while the easy answer is that samurai sentai shinkenger is "better" than power rangers samurai, i will die on the hill that power rangers samurai was a highly successful super sentai -> power rangers adaptation. yes, power rangers samurai is more "shallow," as most super sentai -> power rangers adaptations are, but sometimes you just aren't in the mood to see characters suffer too much to learn a lesson. plus, it's still a kids' show, and it's still power rangers, so it's bound to end up cringey in some way. i mostly like that the rangers each had unique bonds with one another in a way which we rarely ever get from power rangers seasons.
while i don't individually like that the samurai rangers didn't get much in terms of backstory, acknowledge red's leadership very much, or go through as high stakes as the shinkenger did in order to develop, together those pieces make a fun, found family sort of dynamic where they all support and connect with each other--not because they don't have anyone else, but because they do have each other.
that being said, samurai sentai shinkenger isn't at ALL bad, nor is it anywhere close to being "worse" than power rangers samurai. in terms of actual dramatic television, script, story-telling, etc. it's better. but that's not a surprise since that's pretty much every super sentai -> power rangers adaptation, so i hardly ever feel it worth saying until people accuse me of saying power rangers samurai was better than samurai sentai shinkenger. i LOVE samurai sentai shinkenger and firmly regard takeru as my all-time favourite red from either super sentai or power rangers.
also i'll add that if you're mad about lauren like i am and everyone else is, kaoru got MUCH better treatment in the show and got way interesting writing.
#long post#long fucking post#the longest and ugliest post i have posted ever#long text#big text#i am tagging this in any way so that you people do NOT have to read me rambling about fucking power rangers.#text wall#this post may not even be that long i just spent a while typing it out and it looks long on my phone.
