The duality of my current units and marks. 43 in one and 14.4 so far in the other one. Three weeks left to complete five massive assignments. It might as well be two weeks to blitz through it all as I have an island trip from the 21st onwards in the famous Australian Whitsunday: dilated eye emojii:.
Essentially, what I'm trying to say is... I might be in and out a little bit. Between my business tings and that, it's a grand old time. Also. Time zones are an awful things but : grabby hands:.

You and Me Against the World, M’lady
https://archiveofourown.org/works/25014643/chapters/60632809
Hi, I’m back!! And with a prompt for day 2: Stargazing, for @ladynoirjuly2020 .
As always, I want to tag @sassykittynoir , @miraculouslyinloveagain and @smileytrinity, you guys inspire me so much to write, I hope you like this! In fact, I hope everyone likes this xD! Let me know what you think!
                                                            ***
Patrol was by far the highest moment in Adrien’s week. Both he and Ladybug were getting overwhelmed by the crazy amount of schoolwork, on top of Akuma attacks and their extracurricular activities, and so, and for Adrien’s misery, their nightly meetings had to be cut short to once a week. Nevertheless, Adrien would take the most out of it, every minute that he spent with his lady was precious, he couldn’t give himself the luxury of wasting them.
Today, however, he was exhausted! His tiredness could be explained by an accumulation of the last week’s increasing hours of modelling, photoshoots upon photoshoots constantly sneaking their way into his schedule, followed by an intense fencing training every morning before classes started in preparation for an upcoming tournament, the piano lessons that lasted for at least two hours, by his father insistence, the Akuma attacks that also didn’t give any of the heroes a break, and the lonesome meals were all taking a toll on him. Besides, today he couldn’t go to Marinette’s, she said she wouldn’t be home that night, she had a family event or something like that. He couldn’t exactly tell what plans she had for the night since she stumbled upon her words too much for a congruent phrase to be comprehended. It shouldn’t matter what she had planned anyway, she didn’t owe him an explanation, and yet, he was still bummed that he wouldn’t be seeing her.
Beep beep! He looked at the lit screen of his baton, noticing the text Ladybug had just sent him, “Good Evening, Chaton! I have a surprise for you! Come meet me at our spot! Bug out!” He smiled goofily. What had his lady prepared for him? She never failed to impress him.
Adrien vaulted through the rooftops, as fast as his exhausted body could go. He got to the Notre Dame tower where they usually started patrol, and there she was. In all her majestic glory, sitting on a towel, next to a large basket, which he suspected contained some delicious treats inside. She was gazing at the shining Parisian view, transfixed by its beauty, so she didn’t seem to notice his arrival. Adrien smirked.
Silently tiptoeing until he was right behind her, he crouched to her height stealthily, “Evening, M’lady!”, Adrien greeted her in a louder than normal tone, exactly the volume he knew would startle her.
As expected, Ladybug jumped, almost knocking her head on his chin, “CHAAAT! You scared me!!” Despite her annoyed voice tone, Adrien could see a slight smirk gracing her lips.
“Awww, buguinette, you looked so peaceful staring at the view, I didn’t want to disturb you!” He teased her, flicking one of her ponytails.
Ladybug lightly slapped his hand away from her hair, “Well, since you’ve decided to be such a brat tonight, I guess I have no other option but to take this picnic basket home!” She booped his nose and chuckled, “Guess I’ll have to feed these croissants to the stray cat that visits me every night!”
Adrien gasped dramatically at this new revelation, not only was she taking the croissants he loved away, but another cat was keeping her company?? “Noooo, Buguinette! I promise I’ll behave!” To prove his point, he sat on the chequered towel, his hands resting on his legs to keep them from bouncing in excitement.
“Well, since you promised!” She sat right next to him, stretching right over his lap to reach the basket that was just next to Adrien. His cheeks went immediately scarlet, and his heart must have doubled its rate. God, this girl had such an effect on him! She had him right on the palm of her hand, Ladybug would be the death of him. Let it be known, Adrien Agreste would die because Ladybug, Paris darling, would kill him with her beauty and angelical grace!
And the worst, the absolute worst, is that she knew exactly what she was doing! She could have asked him to grab the basket, but nooo… She really wanted to end him, uh? Hawkmoth was an amateur next to his lady. She was the real criminal mastermind in Paris for what she was doing to him.
“-at…”
God, could his face get any warmer? He swore his blood had been entirely deployed to it so that LB could see exactly what she had done to him.
“-hat…”
If his heart continued to pump at this rate, Adrien would have a heart attack, he was certain of it.
“CHAT!!” His attention immediately drifted to her. Ladybug was holding a pain au chocolat, her eyes had this sparkle Adrien was used to seeing when she was amused with something, although her face was trying to pull a blank expression. “Do you want this pain au chocolat or not?”
“What?” He asked in a daze.
“Hello! Earth to Chat Noir!!” Ladybug mocked him, lightly knocking on his head.
“I’m here!” He jumped, finally realising what Ladybug was offering to him. He could never say no to those heavenly sweets she brought from time to time. They were on par with the pastries Marinette offered him every time he visited, and those had no competition in Paris. He grabbed the pastry, while Ladybug took a croissant from the basket for herself.
She wasn’t exactly talkative, but neither was he. They ate the pastries in pleasant silence, although Adrien was still a bit confused about why they were skipping patrol to have a picnic.
“Uh… LB?” Her eyes were closed, a pleased smile was gracing her lips while she slowly chewed on her croissant.
“Yes, kitty?” His heart jumped a beat at hearing the affective nickname Ladybug sometimes used for him.
“Why are we doing this? I, I mean, not that I’m not loving to spend some quality time alone with you in this romantic setting.” He wiggled his eyebrows, flirting with Ladybug to mask his nervousness.
“Well, I don’t know about you, but my life is kind of chaotic right now, and Hawkmoth has not been going easy on us. I just thought we deserved a night off, that’s all.” Her bluebell eyes established contact with his own, and his brain immediately turned into a jumbled mess. Seriously… How could he have any rational thought when his lady looked at him with that gentle expression of hers. Was she even aware of the power she had on him? How, with only a simple look, could she freeze his entire being and capture his heart to be forever hers? Some of Hawkmoth’s Akumas must have taken refuge in his belly, he could feel them inside as Adrien kept watching Ladybug in all her grace munching on her croissant. He knew that if he stood in front of a mirror at that moment, his face would be the same colour as his lady’s suit.
He needed to distract himself with something else, otherwise, his brain would start to make up these crazy scenarios and he wouldn’t be able to deal with them, especially not in front of Ladybug. Damn those teenage hormones!
Adrien looked up to the clear night sky, gazing at the stars above them. Physics was always a passion of his, especially Astronomy. He remembered spending countless nights alone in his room, back when he only had Chloé in his life, gazing through his floor-to-ceiling windows. He owned several stars charts, and his mum had also gifted him a next-gen telescope so he could further feed his passion. He had learned all the constellations, and it was those that had kept him company and helped him stay grounded when he was going through the painful grief his mum’s disappearance had brought upon his life.
“What are you looking at?” Ladybug looked down at him. When had he lied down on that rooftop? Adrien was so distracted gazing up at the sky, that he hadn’t noticed the change of position he had adopted. The fact was that he was currently lying on his back. And his Lady had asked him a question. “I’m only looking at the stars… They look so pretty, tonight. Almost as pretty as you, m’lady!” He chuckled.
“Silly kitty! And here I thought you were finally thinking of something smart for a change.” She teased him, and Adrien put a hand on his chest, gasping dramatically while a pleasant warmth spread through his chest.
“Seriously Chat! You are awfully distracted today. Something wrong?”
Adrien shrugged, “Nothing’s wrong, Buguinette. Don’t worry. I guess I’m just more tired than usual tonight.” His eyes drifted to her face, and his heart missed another beat. Maybe Adrien should ask his father if he could see a doctor, these many palpitations were definitely not normal.
Ladybug lied on her back, her body turned in the opposite direction to his, with her head right next to his shoulder, so close that he could feel the heat radiating from her, and that was enough for his brain to lose any kind of logical thoughts once again.
He avoided turning his head towards her, Adrien knew he wouldn’t be able to resist kissing her lips if he did so.
He heard her huff, “I swear, no matter how many times I read about constellations, I can never identify them. Like, for example, I know that “W” is one, but I don’t know which one!” She pointed, and Adrien followed her gloved finger.
“That’s Cassiopeia, M’lady.” He chuckled.
“Cassiopeia? What even is that?” Ladybug asked dramatically indignant. Adrien loved how full of life she always was.
“Cassiopeia was Andromeda’s mother, and incredibly arrogant and vain. This led to her downfall when she made Poseidon become irate, and the only solution for it was to sacrifice her own daughter, which was later saved by Perseus. Poseidon still thought that Cassiopeia deserved to be punished so he turned her into a constellation.” He explained.
“Wow, Chat! How do you even know that?” Ladybug looked at him and Adrien could feel her breath on his chin.
“I love astronomy. Feels like it was ages ago since the last time I looked at the stars though.” He stated simply as an image of a green-eyed blonde woman appeared in his head.
“It’s so sad that her daughter almost paid for her arrogance…” He heard her voice quivering with emotion. Adrien turned his head toward his lady. Their lips were so incredibly close to each other, it would be so easy to capture them with his own. But he would never do that. He would never take that step, not without her permission.
Ladybug looked stunning lying on that rooftop. The moonlight gave her this ethereal shine and accentuated the blue highlights of her hair. Her cerulean eyes were piercing his soul, they were so close to each other that he could discern all the different blue tones in them. He could count all the freckles adorning her face, and he swore he saw a subtle red hue spreading on her cheeks. He had stopped breathing. Adrien could no longer feel the chill of the night, only the heat radiating from her skin and breath which ironically made his hair stand on end.
Adrien needed to break their eye contact, or else he didn’t think he would survive, he needed to start breathing again anytime soon, right? Her eyes, however, had trapped him in a hypnotic spell which Adrien was certain he couldn’t escape from, and also, he didn’t want to end this moment so soon.
His heart constricted as he was the first one to look away. He knew he shouldn’t get his hopes up. Ladybug liked another boy, and he should respect that.  But the way she was looking at him, could it be? Could she possibly care for him as more than a friend? She was a puzzle in his life, one he couldn’t solve no matter how hard he tried. He shook his head trying to get rid of these thoughts. His Lady wasn’t really his, she liked another boy. Besides, he was already dating Kagami. And Marinette? Marinette was a whole other mystery for him. Wait, why did he suddenly start to think of Marinette? Plagg was right, love was way too complicated.

↳   “You’re right. I was lying. I didn’t want to scare you. But I guess there’s not much to do now, right? I’ll tell you the truth,” Namjoon spoke softly, the grip around Jimin’s wrists loosened a little but not enough to free himself, “…because you deserve it, because I pull you into a lot of shit right now just by being here. I am a vampire, Jimin.”

Jimin took a deep breath before he opened the door to Namjoon’s office. He smiled at him, greeting him almost shyly when he walked over to him, placing the files he needed right onto his desk. The other was surely looking better than last night, not as ghostly and sick. Jimin wondered if Namjoon had fed off someone, or really just drank cold blood. He had thought awfully a lot about him this morning.
Jimin had woken up that morning with no one else by his side and although, Namjoon had told him that he’d be gone early again, Jimin wondered what it could have been like if his boss would have stayed a little longer. If he could have woken up in his arms. His warmth. His safe embrace. Jimin groaned inwardly, he had needed a long hot shower after that.
He had turned the water on – hot, full blast and let it drizzle all over his tired body. Thick steam billowed all around him. Jimin had closed his eyes, running his hand through his hair, when he saw his erection. He sighed, knowing that not even the image of Namjoon being a vampire made Jimin any less attracted to his boss. Why did the other have to stand naked in his apartment in the middle of the night? Didn’t he know what it did to Jimin? He was his boss after all, Jimin couldn’t do that. He just…couldn’t.
“Oh fuck,” Jimin shook his head, wrapping his fingers lightly around his shaft to jerk himself off slowly. Light-headed, Jimin stumbled backwards, his back pressing against the tile wall. He just couldn’t resist the feeling, the images, everything. Jimin moaned sweetly, as he worked his tight fist up and down his dick, faster, harder, deeper. He grappled at the tile wall with his free hand, his body trembling as he worked himself closer to the edge. The pressure went higher, until he surrendered. An image raced through his mind, just before he burst. Namjoon. All of him. Naked. Jimin groaned, a long milky thread spraying out of him and against the tile wall. Jimin stood in silence, his eyes shut, as he let the hot water run all over his body. He was left with a troubling thought. Why was he jerking off to his boss? Twice by now and fuck, he was a vampire.
Jimin gulped, trying to shake the image from this morning out of his head, when he had walked into the office building. He was nervous. So nervous that Namjoon could hear his quickened heartbeat from afar. Loud and clear. Especially now that he was standing right in front of him.
“It’s for your 10pm meeting,” Jimin said and chewed on his lower lip, that made Namjoon’s eyes fall on that soft, kissable mouth of his. With him around it was a miracle Namjoon had ever been able to get any work done. Jimin and his scent was the most tempting distraction. Especially now that they had been so close that night before. “Do you want me to stay here?” Jimin asked and shook Namjoon right out of his thoughts again, “I mean…to write protocol.” Looking at his boss more closely, he wondered where he was with his mind, seemingly not listening to anything that Jimin was suggesting right now. “I can cancel it if you like,” Jimin said in a soft tone, “If you...still don’t feel good. How’s your wound…Namjoon?” Biting his lip, a slight blush appeared on Jimin’s cheeks when he used Mr. Kim’s real name. He liked it. A lot.
Namjoon blushed heavily when Jimin called him by his first name in the office. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, he was the superior, he should be calm and collected and not get flustered the very second Jimin acted cute or called his name in such a sweet voice. Namjoon swallowed harshly, hoping that Jimin would never talk to him like that in front of others or else he would be doomed to completely embarrass himself. Honestly having Jimin close during a whole meeting sounded like self-sabotage - especially if the younger would start to nibble at the pencil again like he had done the last time; plush lips closing perfectly around it, reddening from the way Jimin nipped at them in thought. He was maddeningly sensuous when he was deep in thoughts, his innocent look giving way to hooded bedroom eyes and a relaxed expression.
“I guess, I take your silence as a ‘no’,” Jimin nodded, before he quickly added, “Just call me if you need me then.” He swiftly turned around and walked out of the office, wondering about Namjoon again. Only this time about if he was okay and if maybe Jimin did something wrong. Jimin knew they said they would ignore what happened last night, but still…he couldn’t simply forget about the way Namjoon had pulled him in. Or that his boss had confessed to be a vampire.
Jimin suddenly froze, blinking his eyes furiously. What if Namjoon could read minds? He had read somewhere in a book that vampires could do that? Or was that just fantasy? He quickly made a mental note to ask Namjoon one day, just out of curiosity. Giggling to himself, Jimin went back to work.
Namjoon wasn't trying to be mean or cold hearted although it probably came off like that if he sat there saying nothing. But he just didn't know how to handle this. He couldn't just casually answer, “Don’t worry about the bite wound it started to heal completely the moment I was enjoying a full meal and in a little while it will be as if nothing happened.” He shouldn't say that. He couldn’t. He felt strange enough already. So he just left it to Jimin to interpret his awkward silence A deep and unhappy sigh left his lips.
Jimin buried himself in the mindless paperwork he'd let pile up from yesterday. He needed the distraction of work. And only when the lights in the office went off, he realized that he had been completely immersed in his papers again. “Oh, shit,” Jimin jumped up from his seat, looking around to see that there was no one around. The sun was slowly setting, so he quickly gathered his stuff to make sure to get home before the sun was down. Now that he knew they were vampires behind the attacks, he really didn’t want to meet any of these rogue one’s. A loud ‘bing’ announced the elevators and Jimin turned his head, wondering who would visit the office this late or if Taehyung forgot his bag again.
But it wasn’t Taehyung, nor any other business man.
Jimin stayed frozen on the spot, when the two men came in, walking as if they were owning the place. One carrying a cooling box, while the other had a mischievous smirk on his face. Just when they passed his desk, the creepy looking one sniffed the air, his gaze getting a dangerous glint when it fell onto the human. “Oh, hey there beautiful,” He said in an almost seductive tone and it sent a shiver down Jimin’s spine. He had a weird feeling that he shouldn’t be here right now.
The other one turned at that, having ignored Jimin before to head straight to Namjoon's office but slowing down now that his partner had addressed Jimin. He looked the younger up and down and then furrowed his brow. “Wait, why did we have to come all the way here if he has a perfect source of...” He broke of, taking in the way Jimin’s whole frame had frozen, his eyes wide and fearful. He got closer, squinting his eyes when Jimin jerked back.
“Did he tell him? There’s no reason to be that afraid of us if that human doesn’t know what we are!” He didn’t let Jimin out of his sight for one second. “Hm, maybe Namjoon tried? To feed off him. But it didn’t work because - he’s quite bad with hypnotizing or so I’ve heard. In my opinion it’s his own fault, he’s one of those ‘hypnotizing is against human rights’ kind of people. Of course he’s bad at it if he never practices. I call it natural selection. They’ll die out sooner or later anyway.” The other cocked his head as if he wasn’t so sure about this. “We could do it for him though. Hypnotize this one? Hoseok doesn’t like it when humans know. And it would save him the effort of killing him or whatever else he’s going to do.”
Jimin stumbled back a little, his eyes wide in shock at how the vampires were talking about him as if he weren’t even there. There was a lot of information Jimin had to process, but right now all he wanted was to go home.
“Excuse me, I…I…need to clock out,” Jimin said a little hesitantly as he grabbed his bag. He tried a smile, but when he took a step closer to them both, seemingly wanting to go home, none of them was moving. “Can you…please let me go through, that would be nice,” Jimin tried it once more.
“Or what if I just hypnotize him and make this sweet little one my own?” A dark glint in his eyes and the other vampire next to him chuckled low. “He doesn’t seem to be claimed, so,” He licked his lips slowly, taking purposeful steps closer to Jimin until the other was locked in. Jimin’s heart began to race, trying to desperately think of a way to get himself out of this situation. “I bet Hoseok will let me keep this one,” The vampire whispered in a dark tone of voice, showing off his fangs when he laughed at Jimin’s pathetic whimper.
Namjoon had tried to ignore the noise outside, trying to actually do some boring office stuff for once. He had sensed the other vampires entry immediately but hadn't seen a reason why he should get up to escort them when they had agreed on meeting in his office. Jimin’s soft little whimper though, broke through his concentration like a wrecking ball and he was up on his feet in a second. It had jolted through him like a siren sound although it couldn't have been much louder than their talking. Still some part of him must be hyper aware of Jimin's discomfort to react like that. He pushed the door open immediately and what he saw made him growl.
“Stop fucking around!” He hissed at them, visibly furious. “I need my employee and this one happens to be quite good so please do the company a favor and don't mess with his head and will. I’m sure Hoseok likes his people productive.”
Jimin had flinched violently from Namjoon’s sudden growl and as soon as the others let go of him, he sunk down, his knees feeling too wobbly to stand up right. He covered his eyes in case this would get ugly, but to his surprise it turned relatively quiet, when the vampires lowered their heads in respect right away. Namjoon was way older than them and close to Hoseok, which meant he was of higher rank as well. The one with the cooling box walked over to the older vampire and bowed his head again.
“Excuse us, we were just mindlessly fooling around,” He said, and the other Vampire followed his act and bowed as well. They put the box down at his feet, before they vanished as quickly as they had come. Jimin watched in awe how fast they were, before his eyes flickered back to Namjoon. A faint smile appeared on his lips and Jimin chuckled nervously, “I…I am sorry? I just wanted to go home…I swear. I was just about to get my stuff.”
Namjoon frowned deeply. “You don’t have to apologize, Jimin. If someone should be making amends then it’s me. They came here because...of some business they had with me and then started to harass you. If I had known they would act like that I would have never left them alone with you. My apologies.” He bowed his head a little then took the box and hurried out of the office, closing the door quickly behind himself. He felt horrible leaving Jimin like this but he had overstepped his boundaries enough already, pushing into Jimin’s comfort zone without really giving him a choice and now he had to deal with other vampires too. He better gave Jimin some space.
Jimin simply stared at Namjoon‘s retreating body, not even having the chance to say something. He slowly got up on his feet again, still feeling a little wobbly. Jimin sighed, when his mind caught up on the fact that he just got threatened by vampires, who apparently wanted to claim him. Bring him somewhere? Or someone? He could still remember the name one of them said: Hoseok.
Wondering what it all meant, Jimin was biting his lip deep in thought. Turning around, he could see that the sun was gone from the horizon and he cursed. Now that the stupid vampires had caused him to stay behind it was already starting to get dark outside. What if the other two were waiting for him outside? Or the rogue one’s that Namjoon had told him about? A shiver ran down Jimin’s spine, when the thought hit him. He didn’t want to meet any other vampires tonight. Not one single one. Only Namjoon would be fine. Looking over his shoulder, Jimin made a quick decision. “Mr. Kim,” Jimin called out for him.
Namjoon heard Jimin rustling around wondering why the hell Jimin stayed in the office when he had told the younger again and again to go home before dawn. Was Jimin trying to make him angry as revenge for breaking into his home? Or was he just that forgetful or careless that he simply didn’t mind his warnings? The knock on his door startled him a little because he didn’t expect it but he quickly masked his surprise with pretending to be totally calm and emerged in papers. “Yes, Jimin? Come in,” His heart sank a little at hearing Jimin call him ‘Mr. Kim’ again.
When Jimin stood in front of Namjoon, he suddenly wasn’t so sure anymore if his initial thought had been a good one, but he asked nonetheless. “I…I’m sorry to bother you,” Jimin said and took a step closer, a few of the files he wanted to work on at home in his arms, “Would you mind…I mean…if you’re done with work and drive home, would it be too much to ask if you could drop me off at my place?” Jimin lowered his gaze a little, fumbling around with his jacket. “I know it’s the third time you’d bring me home, but I gotten better at it, right? Just…the vampires…and stuff. I am not so sure if I want to go out alone tonight.” Before Namjoon could say something, Jimin hastily added, “It’s really okay if you don’t want to.”
Namjoon wordlessly got out of his seat and took the car keys. There it was the perfect opportunity to ask Jimin if he could stay a few days longer with him at night, because his own home wasn’t safe. He had initially planned on just staying in the office at night but he wasn’t so sure if that was such a great idea. If the rogue one knew his name he definitely knew where he was working. His workplace would probably the second place they came looking for him if he wasn’t at home. And they hadn’t found him at Jimin’s so it was probably safe, unless they still watched him. Or followed him. Or just picked out the employee who looked the most tasty.
For the nth time today, Jimin just stared at Namjoon, who wasn’t even bothered to answer or talk to him. Feeling a tad insecure, he followed his boss nonetheless. He was just glad that he didn’t need to go home alone. Holding on to the files tight, Jimin was just as quiet as Namjoon was, when they were driving out of the car park and onto the streets. The night was still, the evening sky an inky blue beneath a full moon and Jimin was looking out of the window in awe. He loved beautiful nights like these. He turned around when Namjoon came to a halt in front of his apartment some time later and smiled faintly. “I am sorry again,” He apologized, his cheeks blushing, “I mean…I would have installed an alarm clock on my phone but that one is still broken.”
“Oh, shit! Right,” Namjoon’s cheeks darkened in embarrassment as he remembered how he had smashed Jimin’s phone to keep the younger from calling the cops on him because he was standing naked in his apartment. “Uhm, yeah, about that - do you want me to get you the same phone you had before? or...do you just want to buy one yourself and give me the receipt so that I can pay you back? I could also give your old phone to some I know who’s good at retrieving data so that not everything is lost. I’m really sorry, I was panicking and so I was a bit too harsh. I wasn’t an asshole on purpose, I promise.”
“It’s fine, really,” Jimin said with a reassuring smile and shrugged his shoulders, “I know you weren’t scaring me on purpose now. I understand your whole situation, I guess. As long as we keep our no-biting rule between you and me, we’re good and like I said you can hide here anytime.” Reaching out for Namjoon on instinct, he caressed over his boss’ arm once, before he pulled it back quick. What was he doing? Trying to reassure his boss?
“Don’t worry about the phone,” Jimin added quickly and opened the door of Namjoon’s car to get out, “I don’t have anyone calling me anyways. I see Tae everyday at work and…yeah, that’s it.” A sudden wave of sadness washed over him, so he quickly waved Namjoon and closed the door. He didn’t want to linger on this thought for too long and Namjoon already had been too kind to him.
“Jimin?” Namjoon called after him quickly, swallowing harshly before opening the door of the car fully so that talking was a bit easier (instead of yelling through the opened window). “If.. it wouldn’t ruin your plans tonight or mess with your ‘me time’ that you need to relax could I maybe stay with you again then? I know it’s pretty soon and you probably wasn’t expecting me to ask so quick again...,” or at all maybe, ”...but I’d actually...you know I normally wouldn’t drop in on you like that but someone’s been in my apartment so Hoseok - uhm, my-.. he.-. a friend of mine told me he would take care of it and should better stay somewhere else so maybe if you’d actually be okay with it I’d like to stay at yours?”
Jimin stood frozen for a second, before he smiled brightly at Namjoon. A small blush appearing on his cheeks. “Me time?” Jimin chuckled and showed off the files in his hands, “Of course you can. I don’t really do…me time.” Getting out his apartment key, Jimin held the door open with his shoulder, waiting for his boss. He quickly checked his mailbox, before walking up the stairs, opening the door to his apartment and letting them both in.
“Make yourself a home,” Jimin said and threw the keys onto the kitchen table, going on with his usual procedure when he came home. First some tea, then he was looking into the fridge to see if there was still something eatable, only to decide that he wasn’t too hungry anyways – so he simply got himself an apple and cut it into slices.
“Can you eat normal food, Namjoon?” Jimin stopped and turned to Namjoon, who was just standing there awkwardly, “Also…this Hoseok…the other vampires said his name, too. He seems quite popular,” Turning to lean back against the kitchen counter, Jimin munched on an apple slice, “Why were they so humble out of a sudden when they saw you? The second you came in, they were listening to whatever you said. For how long did he say that you needed to hide?” Jimin had a lot of questions, shooting them all at Namjoon. He thought, if Namjoon wanted to hide here for longer, he owed him a few explanations, right? At least so Jimin could understand how this whole vampire – thing worked.
Namjoon watched Jimin eat with the same fascination of someone who felt absolutely disconnected from something and therefore liked it all the more on someone else. “Uh, I mean I can eat, technically. But my body is just not used to food so it’ll end with cramps and aches and I might just throw it up later. So I prefer not to do it, if that's not putting you off.” He chuckled at Jimin's description of Hoseok although it made him a little nervous to think about his superior.
Hoseok wouldn't approve of this if he knew...
“Popular.. yeah, you could say that.” Namjoon bit his lip, trying to explain the vampire social system to Jimin without sounding too animalistic. So he settled on something easy and not too detailed. Vampires are even more strict about age determining what kind of position you hold than the korean system. You would pay respect to your elders too, wouldn't you? And they did just that. Because its supposed to be like this. I would act the same way if I met someone who was older than me.”
“But older vampire-wise, like you got turned before them?” Jimin asked and Namjoon nodded again. The younger bit his lip, deep in thoughts for a moment. “I guess that makes sense,” He finally spoke up and took a sip from his tea. It was nice getting to know a little more about it all and it made Jimin feel a little more at ease. That – and the fact he knew Namjoon had fed today. So, no awkward midnight scares tonight - or so he thought.
“Do you need to stay close to me again?” Jimin asked, as he made his way over to his bedroom, opening his closet as he got out the only pants that would fit Namjoon and put it aside for him. “I mean…you could also watch TV or a movie, while I sleep or…”
“Not necessarily, no,” He answered not quite sure how he should phrase it. Because yes, he didn't have to cover up his scent anymore because he wasn't bleeding and no one was hunting him right now - but he still preferred Jimin's bed over the sofa and Jimin's company over watching TV. “We can arrange it however you feel most comfortable with. I am happy that you let me stay here either way.”
“I want you to feel at home, so you can of course stay in my bed,” Jimin answered and retreated to the bathroom to get himself ready for bed. The moment, he came back, his eyes flickered onto Namjoon’s chest, that the other (unluckily for Jimin) had covered by a shirt of his. One part of Jimin had hoped, that he would sleep shirtless again, while another was relieved that his mind had some rest. Maybe Jimin would stop fantasizing about running his hands along his boss’s chest then.
Out of sight. Out of mind.
It wasn’t as awkward as the first night, but still Jimin was a little hesitant when Namjoon laid down beside him. They weren’t avoiding each other like before when they were both trying to stay on the edges of the bed, but simply laid on each side. Close enough, so that Jimin could reach out but not close enough for him to feel his warmth. He turned to look at Namjoon in the dark, but only could make out some gray shadows (while Namjoon could see perfectly in the dark).
“Namjoon? Can I ask you one more thing?” He whispered and the other hummed in response, “Why do you feel so warm? Shouldn’t you be…cold? Aren’t all vampires like that?”
Namjoon smiled at Jimin’s innocent curiosity. Instead of going for all the gruesome details that living the life of a vampire entailed he asked for the little things, seemingly random questions that showed that he kept thinking about Namjoon’s state. It was absolutely endearing. “You can ask me whatever you want Jimin. If I don’t want to answer it I’ll just say so. You’re right, naturally a vampire’s body is cold. We don’t really produce our own body warmth and we also don’t mind the cold. That’s the reason why we like warm blood the most and cold blood.. it’s not that nice. Like drinking cold coffee in winter. You can think of it a little as being poikilothermic or ‘cold-blooded’. We take the warmth from our surroundings or from what we drink and then store it in our own bodies. If I’d take a walk out in the night my body would quickly become cold, way more quickly than yours. But it wouldn’t matter because I don’t need a certain core temperature for my body to keep functioning.”
“Oh,” Jimin pulled the blanket a little closer over his body, before he thanked Namjoon for answering his question. Yawning quietly, he curled in on himself and closed his eyes. This time he didn’t need to be afraid of sleeping next to Namjoon. He felt absolutely safe next to him. Exhaustion soon set in and it didn't take long for Jimin to fall asleep.
Neither of them stirred in their sleep, until a sudden loud ringing broke through their dreams, waking them up. Jimin sat upright in his bed in a second, his heart beating so loud and fast, that he was gasping for air. He saw that it was about 3 am and turned to Namjoon, who was already on his phone, talking quietly. A low growl coming from the vampire, made the younger look at him in panic. Namjoon didn’t seem right. Jimin immediately switched on the bedside lamp. “Are you all right?” He said anxiously, but Namjoon wasn’t answering him.
“They fucking got one of us,” Hoseok hissed over the phone and Namjoon could hear something crashing in the background. Probably a vase. Or something bigger. “Stay the fuck wherever you are,” The vampire leader ordered, as he raked his hand through his hair in desperation, “I’m going to fucking behead every single one of them.”
Namjoon quickly covered the phone with his hand to keep Hoseok’s voice from reaching Jimin but the vampire was furious, spitting curses and growling in pure hatred and there was no way Jimin didn’t catch at least some of it. So Namjoon gave the human an apologetic smile and carefully snuck out of bed to continue the conversation somewhere where he could talk freely without scaring Jimin out of his mind. He carefully close the door and then kept pacing back and forth in the living room. “Who is it? Will they make it? Did they see anything? Do you know who exactly it was who attacked them? Are you sure I shouldn't better come over? Maybe I could help? You sent others out on the hunt for the rogues, didn’t you? Let me help!”
He felt horrible just staying here doing nothing while others where out there in the night risking their immortal life's for all of them.
“He’s dead,” Hoseok said with an icy voice, “It’s Taemin. We know it’s the rogue. It’s the same way of attacking. They completely shredded him apart. Fuck.” Hoseok sat down, sighing deeply. “We found him downtown, not far from the company. I need to get more of my people down there. I need them everywhere. And you,” Hoseok growled low but his voice was sounding tired, “Right now stay wherever you are. And Namjoon?” Hoseok waited for Namjoon’s attention, before he said in ordering tone of voice, “Feed off a fucking human or else you will be doomed the second they get you.” The vampire leader chuckled low, before he added, obviously amused, “God, I don’t even fucking care if you take one of my employees. There must be someone who screams for you to take them apart right? That’s what humans are for Namjoon.”
Namjoon’s insides turned to ice. Dead. One of them had been killed. Vampires weren’t they most friendly race and of course they had their feuds and wars and sometimes it could get ugly but killing one of them? It just...they didn’t do it. Not without that person having committed a crime and then facing court getting a fair trial there. You didn't just kill another Vampire like not. Not without wreaking havoc. Namjoon bit his lip, keeping from answering at all. He hated this situation, he hated that they had to be afraid, that there were people being killed, vampires killed and at risk - and he also hated how Hoseok was willingly giving up the life of one of the employees as if their sole purpose was to exist for their nourishment. But he couldn’t anger Hoseok right now so he just murmured something affirmative. He was so so very glad that the hadn't told Hoseok who he was staying with.
Jimin opened the door a peak, when Namjoon hadn’t returned after a while. He had wanted to make sure that he was alright. “Namjoon?” Jimin asked carefully, tip toeing his way over to him. He could sense it right away, that something was bothering him and that the phone call he had gotten must have been important and most likely bad news. “Do…do you need to go?” He almost whispered, biting his lip right after, while he was reaching out to comfort Namjoon, “Are you alright?”
Jimin trying to comfort him wasn’t making it any easier. If he listened to Hoseok he would have attacked Jimin right then and there, biting him against his will and drinking him dry. Knowing that it was actually within him to do so, that a tiny little part of him ached to feel what it would be like to break Jimin’s soft skin, to pierce his vein and to taste him again, fully this time, to feel his struggle slowly dying out while his pained little sounds would turn into moans of pleasure although he was slowly being killed… Namjoon felt sick to his stomach. He was glad he hadn’t eaten any human food or else it would have definitely come up now. “No, it’s - it’s okay. Let’s go back to bed, okay? I’m sorry I woke you. This was just... a friend, who reminded me to stay safe. But I am with you so we can just forget the call and go back to bed”
Jimin was biting his lip anxiously. He could literally feel how stiff Namjoon was next to him, his thoughts almost so loud that Jimin could swear he could hear them. He had followed the vampire quietly back into the bedroom and under the blanket, but it didn’t feel good. Something was off and Jimin didn’t know how to make it better. Normally, he’d make someone a tea, care for them, cuddle his friend and make sure that they would be feeling a lot better again – but Namjoon was a vampire after all. And his boss.
Jimin didn’t think for too long, when he got up and out of bed. He felt around in the dark, walking over to the right side of the bed where Namjoon was lying on and stood in front of him. “Move,” Jimin said with a smile, “C’mon now, move aside a little.”
Namjoon’s eyes were open the second he heard Jimin getting up, following the others every move like a magnet was pulling on him. When Jimin asked him to move over he obeyed, not really sure what this was about (if Jimin had wanted to switch sides he could have just told him so) but before he could get too far away he could feel Jimin’s hand on his waist holding him back. Confused he froze completely until Jimin had gotten into bed comfortably. He was stunned when the human cuddled up to him, gently and slowly as if he was trying to make sure to not overwhelm Namjoon. The sudden warmth on his back made Namjoon’s muscles relax automatically and a soft sigh escaped him. This definitely wasn’t what he had expected to happen. “Are you.. are you alright with this?” He asked carefully not really sure what had made Jimin decide on starting to cuddle him. Not that he was complaining, quite the opposite really, but still...
“I can’t bring you tea or some comfort chocolate, so I only have this,” Jimin whispered and laid his head on Namjoon’s chest, listening to his heartbeat. “I trust you, Namjoon,” He yawned a little and nuzzled a little closer, “I’m sorry for whatever happened, just know that you’re safe here. And I don’t mind having you around.”
The vampire was touched by Jimin’s selflessness and the way he was willing to go to great length to make others feel better. He hadn’t even told Jimin that he was feeling anxious but the younger had sensed it nonetheless and had acted accordingly. He was giving him so much, so much more than he should. And still Namjoon couldn’t find it in himself to decline. He wanted this too much. Jimin’s body was a safe and solid presence against his chest and the human’s warmth melted into his skin deliciously, warming him up from the inside and relaxing him immensely. Namjoon tried to be subtle about it when he inched his face closer, breathing Jimin in and getting lost in his delicious scent. He got so lost actually that he accidentally nosed along Jimin’s jaw once, breaking out of it when he felt the soft skin on his face and blushing deeply in his embarrassment. Quickly he placed his head back onto his pillow and instead opted for putting his arms around Jimin to give the human as much comfort and safety back than he was getting from this.
Ever since Hoseok had told him about the vampire attack, Namjoon was staying over at Jimin’s more often. Jimin was surprised how fast he got used to his boss being around. Some days, he simply brought them both home and they were walking upstairs together, talking and chatting about either work or something that one wanted to know about the others life. On other days, Jimin was already home, minding his own business when Namjoon came in through the window. The first time he had screamed so loudly when the little bat was flying in and only when the little flutter thing sat on the table, looking at Jimin he understood.
“Oh shit, Namjoon!” Jimin exclaimed and ran off to the bedroom to get him some pants, throwing it at the bat and before he turned himself vampire again, Jimin quickly threw his hands over his eyes. “You need to start bringing some clothes of yours! I only got this pants and you’re lucky you weren’t here last night, so I washed these,” Jimin said with a smile, before he settled down on the couch, motioning for Namjoon to come over. Just like they did almost every night from that on. Most of the time Jimin was asking questions about vampires, munching happily on his food, while Namjoon was telling him all about ‘the earlier days’ and the younger was listening attentively. “Okay, so what’s been your favorite century so far? ‘60s?” Jimin asked with an innocent smile, taking another bite from his cookie.
Namjoon felt like taking a test from one of those lifestyle magazines where you were asked about your favorite color or meal and then got a result that was supposed to describe your personality. But he liked how eager Jimin was to get to know him and he always got so excited when Namjoon told him secrets and things that Jimin had never thought about before so the vampire just listened to all of those questions in amusement and then tried to answer them as best as he could. “Favorite century... oh, that's a difficult one. But yeah the ‘60s were great, especially with all the civil rights movements in ‘68 where the people got so active and vocal and it was all about education and equality and...,” He sighed, ”You don’t have to remind me about the bad stuff that happened. It’s just that there’s always good stuff and bad stuff happening so I tend to try and look at the good side of things. And there was a lot of good in those days. I also like the century we’re living in right now though. With all these possibilities that science and technic offers we can reach out to people all over the world, we can help each other even though we’re miles away. It had never been so easy to make social injustice public - even though spreading misinformation and twisting how something is perceived by the public eye is just as simple. It’s a difficult century, I won't deny that. But it’s promising. As long as people won’t give up hope, believe in the good they can achieve an don’t stop fighting for what is right.” Namjoon hastily drank a sip from his tetra pack before he continued to get political. As someone who had been living for ages he could look at things a bit more positive and relaxed than someone who had to live through something while knowing it might be all they would ever see and that even if things would change for the better in a hundred years they wouldn’t be able to witness it.
“Do you always have been working jobs like these? Aren’t there like…vampire jobs?” He fired another question, shifting a little closer to Namjoon, completely hooked on his words. “And why don’t you stay with Hoseok? Like…shouldnt there be some vampire headquarters somewhere? At least that’s how I imagine it – it’s probably a stupid thought, right?” Jimin nervously chuckled, before he asked a little sheepishly, “Don’t you have no one else that is…I don’t know… waiting for you?”
“Vampire jobs?” He laughed, “And what would that be? Polishing vampire teeth or studying glycosylated haemoglobin? Nah, we adapt and as we have lots of life experience and had literally hundreds of years to perfect all kind of abilities we’re able to do almost every job we put our minds on.” He thought for a second and then added, “Hm, maybe you won’t find as many of us employed in the computer section of business rather than in customer service because we have to get used to new developments just like everyone else while we are naturally drawn to and good with people... but just like humans we have different interests and hobbies and skills. And actually.. it’s not stupid at all. Because it is like some kind of headquarter where Hoseok lives and he would rather have me living there but... I prefer to have my own place. It would be like living with.. with your dad in the same house. Not really but... you get what I mean right? I just wouldn’t have that much freedom although it would be easier sometimes if I’d been living there at Hoseok’s place.”
Sometimes it was scary how much Jimin’s questions hit the nail on the head. He nervously rubbed his head at the human’s next question. he wasn’t that good with personal stuff. “No. I don’t have someone waiting for me. You see it is pretty difficult to live together with someone for decades, let alone for centuries. We tend to get a bit quirky after living for a few hundred years. And finding someone to put up with all that for literal eternity - it’s just difficult. So we are rather alone.” Telling Jimin that most of them formed bonds with humans instead wasn’t something he wanted to do, while he was practically living in the others apartment at the moment. Jimin might have taken it he wrong way...
Though Namjoon was safe with Jimin, the attacks on humans and vampires weren’t getting any less. Hoseok was on edge every night, trying to infiltrate the police and any politician. He was sending off more and more vampires to hunt the rogue’s down, but it seemed like they vanished off the earth each time they attacked, leaving Hoseok with no idea on who they were. Namjoon was the only one who had seen one in person and survived. It was getting more and more dangerous for vampires and humans alike. Namjoon was sending his workers back home even earlier now, hoping that they got there in the safety off the daylight. It was starting to affect the company. People were starting to get scared. But each time Namjoon sneaked into Jimin’s bedroom, pulling the younger one in, it seemed like he could forget about it all happening for a moment.
“Dracula or Van Helsing?” Jimin asked, shaking Namjoon out of his thoughts, tearing his gaze away from the documents in front of him. “There’s a horror night tonight on TV and we could watch either of them,” Jimin said nonchalantly, as if it was the most normal thing to ask his boss what movie he’d like to watch with him, “Remember you told me that we would watch some vampire movies, so you can point out each and every flaw.” The younger one laughed, opening another binder, to sort away some files. Just when he had about a few, Jimin was walking over to the other side of Namjoon’s office to the shelf where he was organizing everything a new. “Honestly, who did this before I came,” Jimin kneeled down, sorting back every binder in the right order, showing off his backside beautifully to Namjoon without noticing, “This is a mess.”
Namjoon groaned. “Are you serious? You want me to watch a movie where my people are slaughtered for fun or a horrible depiction of my race from decades ago? When I said we’d watch vampire movies I meant artistic stuff like 'What we do in the shadows’! That’s how I prefer to be made fun of.” He was only half annoyed and half amused. Because as wrong as most movies were about his race - it also meant that he and his people were safe. The moment there were vampire movies that told people the truth and how to find and kill them then they would be fucked. Apropos fucked...
The blood rushed to his cheeks again when Jimin presented his backside to Namjoon as if he wasn’t appetizing enough already. Quickly Namjoon turned around to keep his hunger under control. No biting. Not even nibbling, no matter how delicious Jimin looked, that was the rule!
Unfortunately, that night, Namjoon wasn’t showing up as early as he had planned. Jimin had started watching ‘Van Helsing’ all by himself – pouting and wondering where the other was. He had gotten so used to having the other around so easily, that now when Jimin thought about it a little bit too long it was scaring him. What was he hoping for? That his boss maybe would think the same way he sometimes thought about Namjoon? Just because they were sleeping in the same bed? Jimin laughed at himself. How pathetic. Namjoon only needed him to have a safe place to stay. It wasn’t him, the vampire was interested in. Maybe Jimin just felt too alone from time to time.
“That’s it,” Jimin thought to himself. He had always liked having people around, thriving on affirmation and closeness. And now that he had gotten a piece of it, he wanted more. Way more than just feeling Namjoon’s warmth next to him. He wanted him to wrap his arms around Jimin, his face nuzzled in the crook of his neck, leaving soft, sweet kisses there. Sighing deeply, Jimin laid down on his couch and stared up at the ceiling. He should really stop daydreaming about Namjoon. He was a vampire – god damn it.
Exhaustion swept over him and all Jimin wanted to do was sleep, but he needed to get something into his belly first. He went to the fridge and found it empty. “Shit,” He mumbled to himself, having forgotten to go grocery shopping again, but when he opened the freezer, Jimin found a few ‘Hot Pockets’. That would have to do. Zapping it in the microwave, Jimin thought about his life again and how much it had changed. How alone he had suddenly felt. From one moment to the other. He was completely and utterly alone. Of course, he had Taehyung, but the other was a few years younger and still in college. It was way easier for him to make new friends but with Jimin being alone and new to the city it all was different. As soon as he sat down on the couch again, Jimin couldn’t help but pull his knees up to his chest and start to cry again. There were files piling up in front of him right next to the snacks he had gotten out for the movie (even though he knew Namjoon didn’t eat anything). He rubbed his eyes desperately, cursing himself. There was barely any light coming in through the windows, draining the room of color and turning the skyscrapers around to muted shades of grey. In the day, when the sun was out all the building sparkled in the sunshine, but right now the view seemed as hopelessly lonely as he felt. In a way Jimin knew he was completely ridiculous, but sometimes he just couldn’t help it. Jimin checked his new phone for messages again, but there were none.
It didn’t take long for Jimin to fall asleep on the couch. He just had been so tired.
Namjoon had stood out there in the cold for hours, first simple being annoyed, than angry, then worried for the other vampires not showing up when they had been supposed to. He was waiting for another blood delivery because Hoseok had deemed it safer for all of them to stay were they were hiding instead of coming to him. It would have been too easy to follow them. And he trusted the delivery guys because they were handpicked people, quick and dangerous and practically impossible to follow unnoticed because they’d been doing this for centuries, being messengers and delivering goods of all kinds. No one followed them without them noticing. But even they weren’t unkillable. So when they finally showed up Namjoon breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m sorry, there was an emergency at the hospital and they need the blood so we had to go to the next one to get you what you need,” One of them explained. The other just looked at Namjoon strangely, sniffing once, before bowing his head and saying his own apologies. “It’s alright. I’m thankful that you’re both taking the risk to bring me blood at all. It’s dangerous out here so I’d rather have you both late and save than any other way.”
The vampire leaned in a little more again, when Namjoon had picked up the box and he eyed the older one warily. There it was again. The strange smell. Something wasn’t right here. He was watching Namjoon carefully, when the other turned to bring the cooling box inside his office again and looked at his partner. The vampire nodded, as if they could read each other’s minds and then they vanished again, as quick as they came.
Namjoon ignored their strange behaviour. They were probably just scared, like all the other vampires were who had to meet up alone and in the night knowing full well that there were powerful rogues on the loose.
When he came back to Jimin’s apartment the TV was still running so he thought the younger was still up. Then he saw the lump in front of it, which turned out to be a curled up Jimin on the sofa. He smiled at the cuteness that was Jimin’s sleeping form. One hand cradled his cheek, while the other was hanging from the couch. Murmuring in his sleep, Jimin moved his head slightly but did not wake. Moving slowly, Namjoon slipped one hand under his legs and then the other around Jimin’s back, lifting him up until his head settled against his shoulder. He stood for a moment, gazing down at him. Then switched off the TV and turned off the lights.
Jimin could feel himself getting moved and instantly cuddled closer into his embrace, shivering a little from the cold that Namjoon brought. Carefully he got Jimin into his bedroom and onto the bed, placing him in the middle so that the younger could stretch himself out as much as he wanted while he put the comforter over him. He would eat a quick snack and then think of a place to hide the rest of the blood bags without Jimin finding them. And afterwards he would join the younger in bed.
But just when Namjoon came back from bringing the blood bags somewhere outside in one of the garbage containers, he could hear something that peaked his interest. Licking his lips, the delicious taste of blood still fresh on his tongue, he listened closely.
“Please,” Jimin whimpered, tossing and turning in his sleep. His hand gripped the bed sheets tight, with his knuckles turning white. It wasn’t the first dream that he had about the vampire. But this one was different. He was touching him. Holding him. Making him go crazy with the lust. A quiet moan left Jimin’s lips as he turned on his back, his body reacting to his dream vividly. He made an appreciative sound and opened to him in his dreams. He fell into the pool of sensation he had wakened in him, loving the feel of his every caress. Jimin drew in a deep breath, when one of the vampire’s hands fisted in his hair and the other cupped his bottom in possession. He shuddered. Namjoon’s name falling from his lips in a whisper.
His first thought was that there was someone in Jimin’s bedroom and the younger was whimpering because he was scared therefore he was ready to storm in and protect Jimin with fangs and fighting - then it clicked. Jimin was having a nightmare. Or... he furrowed his brows, trying to make sense of the soft sighs the younger was making. Not a nightmare. A dream. A… a really really nice dream. His eyes widened when he heard Jimin calling his name, sounding so wrecked with it that it had a hot shiver running down his spine. Oh shit! Keeping away from the bed and letting Jimin dream his little dream was what he should do if he wanted to protect Jimin’s virtue but honestly how could he be selfless while Jimin was lying there, all splayed out on the bed, whimpering his name?
Carefully and completely quiet he opened the door and was hit by the scent of Jimin’s arousal. Damn, he really was in deep, deep trouble. As slipping into bed wasn’t an option right now he just simply got closer to the bed, inch by inch, always ready to jump back in case Jimin would wake up. However the human was caught in his own dream, still aching with need, his breath shallow and too quick. God, this was purest temptation! Namjoon leaned over Jimin a little, watching as the younger threw his head back, showing off the long column of his neck, so beautifully unmarked that the vampire instantly drew closer. He wanted to taste Jimin so badly right now! Another moan from Jimin broke his resolve and shattered his self-restraint into pieces. He knew he shouldn't have gotten into the room. There was no way he could withstand Jimin’s unconscious seduction like this! Slowly he reached out before his fingertips came in contact with Jimin’s heated skin. He traced the younger’s features gently before he reached his plush lips, dragging his thumb across it. Jimin twitched a little opening his mouth and Namjoon was so, so close to kissing him that he could almost feel Jimin’s lips on his own. “What the hell am I doing here?” He whispered to himself, mesmerized by the way Jimin reacted to his touch.
Not being sure what was dream or reality, Jimin leaned into Namjoon’s touch, parting his lips in a soft moan. Arching his back, he could feel the tension rippling through his body, the images in his head making him want to touch himself (or get touched, preferably from Namjoon) and get rid of the tension in his body. He licked his lips, brows furrowed, chest rising heavily with every breath he took. But the vampire in his dream was just staring down at him, letting his hands wander down Jimin’s chest, letting him feel him everywhere but not where he needed it the most. “Please, Namjoon,” Jimin whispered, turning his head away from the vampire, his hand still lingering on him as he bared his neck beautifully for him.
The desire pierced through him, sharp and stinging and Namjoon gasped softly from how much he was yearning for Jimin. He sounded so utterly beautiful when he was begging like this, his name like a prayer on Jimin’s lips. He wanted to answer it, make every wish come true and indulge Jimin the way the younger deserved it. Though most of all he wanted to make him lose his mind from pleasure, the same way Jimin made him lose his own sanity just by baring his neck like this. He couldn’t control himself, not like this. Namjoon leaned in, nosing along Jimin’s jaw, his lips brushing right where the pulse point was before he dared to lick over the soft spot. He could feel the pulse beat against his lips and groaned with hunger.
Jimin shuddered, the pleasure rippling through him. It felt so real. So good. So…the low growl coming from Namjoon, made him snap his eyes open in fear, his hands soaring up to get a hold on Namjoon’s shirt, gripping the fabric tight. But instead of screaming, Jimin only whimpered. Only this time it was, because he was scared. Suddenly, instead from pleasure, his body was shaking with fear.
“Please, don’t hurt me,” Jimin whispered, turning his head to lock eyes with the vampire. “You…you promised me,” The dream long forgotten, Jimin was panicking, panting and shivering from the fear that crept deep inside of his bones. He could clearly see Namjoon’s teeth and the hunger reflecting in the vampire’s eyes, while he could still feel the wet trail that he had licked along his neck.
Namjoon froze completely when Jimin’s eyes snapped open and the younger was staring at him, no pleasure in his gaze, just confusion and fear and a desperate hopeful little flicker that this was still a dream and that he could wake up to the safety of his bed where Namjoon would hold him gently instead of lusting after his blood like the predator he was. Namjoon turned his head away in shame, disentangling himself gently from Jimin’s grip. “I won’t Jimin. I told you I wouldn't hurt you and I meant it. I won’t bite you. I’m... I’m so sorry I abused your trust.” He couldn’t take the way Jimin was looking at him although it was what he deserved; he was the monster Jimin’s fear made him out to be and the only reason why he hadn’t fed of Jimin, yet was that Hoseok send him blood bags. Without the stabilizing ‘extra food’ his self control would crack like an eggshell after a week or two. He was a danger for Jimin, a liability in his life that could have deadly consequences...
He left the bedroom with a sour taste and lead in his gut.
Jimin gulped heavily, pulling the blanket a little tighter over his body as he sat up. Not just to feel safer but also to cover up his hard-on. A silent gasp fell from his lips, when Jimin realized that Namjoon might have heard something. He knew he had a reputation of talking in his sleep. All his ex-boyfriends told him that. His eyes followed Namjoon and he cursed himself. Letting himself fall onto his back again, Jimin stared up at the ceiling, tracing the spot where Namjoon’s lips had touched him. “God damn it, Jimin – he’s your boss,” He whispered to himself reassuringly, completely unaware that Namjoon could hear every single word, “Get your shit together. He just needs to be around to keep safe. It’s nothing serious. And it’s certainly not about you. He won’t hurt you. He promised you.” Jimin sighed softly, rubbing his hands over his face.
When Namjoon realized that Jimin as talking to himself he quickly covered his ears to keep from unintentionally spying on the other. He had pried enough for tonight, eavesdropping shouldn’t join his ‘list of things I did to invade Jimin’s privacy’. Though probably nothing would top turning up completely naked in his living room. Namjoon sighed deeply. As if Hoseok was sensing that he was drowning in self-pity he chose that exact moment to sent him a text. He knew that it must be Hoseok from the ringtone that he had chosen (“Queen of the damned”. He hoped Hoseok would find it amusing if he ever found and not insulting). Grateful for the distraction he took the phone out of his pocket from where his jacket was placed over the armrest of a chair. He gulped hard when he read the message. No greeting, no joke just a straight order: “Get your ass over here Namjoon. You’ve got some explaining to do!”
Ignoring the king’s request wasn’t even an option - and Jimin probably didn’t want to have him around right now anyway. Maybe the younger would at least get some sleep this way. Quickly he got his jacket and got out the door in a hurry.
...
The vampire leader sat at his desk, his fingers tapping on the wood rhythmically. His eyes fixated on the door, waiting for Namjoon to arrive. He clicked his tongue once, when he could make out the familiar sounds of the vampire’s car. Then his footsteps. He was coming closer. A wicked smile appeared on Hoseok’s lips.
When Namjoon entered the mansion he noticed that the guards had doubled - and also their hostility. If looks could kill he would have been stabbed to death like four times in the last two minutes. However Hoseok must have told them that he was coming because this time they didn’t do anything to keep him from entering, just continued to stare until Namjoon felt like his back had gotten holes from it. Before he could get all anxious about the way Hoseok had ordered him to the mansion he went into his office, hoping that he was overthinking this and Hoseok was just in the mood to talk.
“My friend,” He began and leaned his head on his hand, seemingly relaxed, “How are you doing on this fine night? I see the rogue still haven’t found you.”
Namjoon licked his lips nervously. “I’m fine, Hoseok. And I would be even more fine if I could sleep at my hiding spot instead of walking through the night to see you - which actually breaks your not going out rule, doesn’t it? So please tell me what is so important that it couldn’t wait until daylight?”
Hoseok cocked up an eyebrow at Namjoon’s way of talking to him. He pursed his lips a little, waiting before he spoke, letting the other vampire feel the tension. “At first, I thought, when you said that you had to reveal yourself to a human, that you’d be smart enough to hypnotize them. To make them forget,” Hoseok paused, his gaze piercing through Namjoon, “Maybe I was a little careless, the rogue’s keeping me distracted for long enough…but I hear rumors, too you know.  So…when did you want to tell me about the little human of yours?” He stood up from his chair, walking around the desk to come to a halt right in front of Namjoon. “You know you have to tell me about it, when you form bonds with humans, right? It’s a law.” Hoseok tipped his chin in thought, before he gasped in a fake dramatic manner, “Or…didn’t you? There’s no bond, right?”
Namjoon’s heart sank when Hoseok so casually started talking. The vampire king was never casually talking about humans. Never.
Shit, he was in trouble.
Who the hell told Hoseok about Jimin, he had made sure that no one ever saw them together in his car and walking up to Jimin’s apartment. No one knew, no one...except the delivery guys. Namjoon bit his tongue to keep from groaning. He was a fool to think that they would let go of that incident in the office so easily. He should have learned it by now to always take precautions. Now he had to try and convince Hoseok that Jimin was no one, not even worth telling him about… or else Jimin might just as well get a visit from the vampire king himself, just as an example and punishment for Namjoon. He started sweating knowing that Hoseok would smell his fear. “Of course I would have informed you if there was a bond. It’s just.. he’s an employee so he was just there when I needed a place to hide. But I don’t really...he’s not intriguing enough to bite and I don’t think his blood would taste very good.” Just the thought of tasting Jimin’s blood again had him salivating and he swallowed harshly to cover it up. “So I didn’t really think it would be worth wasting your time with this conversation, that’s why I didn’t tell you anything about him.”
Hoseok huffed in annoyance. He was having none of Namjoon’s bullshit. He grabbed Namjoon’s collar and pulled the vampire in to sniff him. A smile was forming at Hoseok’s lips as he nosed along the vampires neck, only to push him away right after, making Namjoon stumble.
A low growl escaping Hoseok’s chest, “Are you fucking with me? Trying to lie right in my face?” The vampire king reached out for Namjoon’s jaw, gripping it tightly to make the vampire look at him. “I can smell him,” His eyes glinting with the hunger he felt, “This is not your smell, it’s him. And he smells fucking delicious. So…if you think he’s that disgusting, I hope you don’t mind me, then…”
“No!” Namjoon gasped at his own outcry, lowering his head immediately and avoiding Hoseok's eyes to show his submission. His heart was beating out of his chest and it wasn’t only that Hoseok could heart it, the more he would exhaust his body the more hungry he would get and the weaker he would be, unable to protect Jimin if Hoseok would... time seemed to slow when he realized what exactly he was thinking. He was considering to go against Hoseok for a human! He was completely loyal to Hoseok, always had been no matter their ideological differences, he knew that Hoseok was his king, that he was the best king they could have and that even if he might not like an order that Hoseok was giving he would still do it. Out of respect. Because it was supposed to be that way. He liked rules. They needed rules! And there he was thinking about actual treason as if it was nothing.
His body started shaking while his world was crumbling from within. He was loyal! He should be loyal to Hoseok till death, he owed him his life, his immortal soul - and still the mere thought of Hoseok hurting Jimin was too much to bear. He sank down on his knees in front of Hoseok bowing down in submission gripping the fabric of his pants tightly to hide that his fingers were still trembling. “I’m sorry, my king. I don’t deserve your forgiveness for disrespecting you like this. There is no justification for what I did.” And yet, he had to bite his tongue to keep himself from talking about how he mustn’t hurt Jimin, how that human was too good, too important to him to just stand down and watch it.
Hoseok chuckled low. Even though he couldn’t read Namjoon’s mind, it was written all over his face what he was thinking. Hoseok had always believed that Vampires needed to stay hidden and that humans were existing for them to feed of, to form bonds with. The same that he had with Jin.
The vampire king watched in delight, how Namjoon was dropping down in front of him, loving the submission. He put a finger under the vampire’s chin, making him look up. “You’ve always had a heart too big for a vampire,” Hoseok said quietly, looking at Namjoon all pitiful, “You’re living amongst humans for too long now. You’re a vampire, Namjoon. Simply that. But you’re also my friend – so I grant you a week.” He licked his lips slowly, “One week to feed off him. If you’re not feeding off of him by then, I will need to think of a punishment that is rightful to the vampire laws. You don’t want me to do that, do you?” Letting go off Namjoon, Hoseok turned around and sat back on his chair, “You’re dismissed.”
A/N: Oh, oh... can you feel that? Shit is about to go down! What do you think? Will he bite Jimin? Or will he wait and just face trial and his punishment to stick to Jimin’s rules? Leave us a comment! Thank you for reading! I love you guys!

Bts reacts to you comforting them
Tumblr media
A/N: Gosh that sounds so cute though hahaha. I think everyone would immediately feel better once they felt something rubbing on their cheek. I would totally laugh out of cuteness. I’m not really known with the measurement inches so I wouldn’t really know how tall you are but I assume you’re not that tall if you say so :p. Anyways I hope this is something you had in mind and enjoy reading. and thank you for liking my blog. I’m doing my best to keep it that way plus that I enjoy writing eventhough I need some more practice.
Thank you for requesting! Stay healthy!
Seokjin
The chatter immediately filled the air as you opened the door to the dressing room of the boys. Seokjin had texted you if you wanted to come and of course you had replied with an excited yes with lots of smiley and kissy faces and jumped in your car heading to the venue.
Your eyes roamed around the room but you could not find the person you were looking for. Closing the door behind you, you walked over to Taehyung who was playing some games on his phone and asked him where Jin was. He answered you that he was standing in the corner behind the rack of clothes. Raising an eyebrow in confusion you made your way over to him and pushed the rack aside and saw him staring at his shoes, nervously fumbling with the hem of his shirt. Once he noticed he wasn’t ‘hidden’ anymore, he looked up. The sudden hug you got yanked in startled you a bit, but quickly composed yourself and returned the embrace.
Seokjin spilled everything that was bothering him, tightening his hold on you. ‘’Seokjin look at me.’’ you whispered, lifting your head to look at him. Just as you could see his face clearly, you tucked him down with one hand holding his neck and pushed your cheek against his and began to rub. At first he would look baffled but soon after a loud laugh could be heard through the room. Satisfied with the outcome you pulled back but he pushed you back asking you to continue with the nuzzle.
‘‘Now, please continue with what you were doing.’‘
Tumblr media
Yoongi
Yoongi is a perfect example of the words: a hard shell but a soft core.
You were casually sitting in the kitchen, sipping on some tea, flipping through the pages in the paper infront of you while waiting for Yoongi to come home. Taking a quick glance at the clock standing on the shelf, you quickly shot up from the chair and shuffeled towards the hall to greet your boyfriend with a smile but your smile fell once you saw the blonde man entering the house. He looked exhausted. His hair was ruffled, his lips were red and his eyes looked down and dispirited. The sight made your heart clench and before Yoongi could even utter some word you already pulled him down, burying his head against your chest, your hands rubbing circles in his back as you whispered soothing words in his hair. His hands slid against your waist and ended up on your back
Once you felt he calmed down a bit,you slowly pulled him from your chest until your noses were touching. Your hands shot to his hair, ruffling it some omore while rubbing your nose against him. A chuckle slipped from his lips, as his eyes looked deepy into yours. The tired look was still there but a new emotion filled his charming orbs and his lips were curled in a small smile. It wasn’t a big one but it was enough. The affection and love you felt for and from this rare man was so immense that you would do everything, everything just to see him comfortable, relaxed and happy.
‘‘God I don’t know what I would do without you.’’
Tumblr media
Hoseok
Gosh, this boy worried you to no end. He wouldn’t want to see anyone that he felt stressed or sad or any negative emotion in that matter but it’s you were talking about. The one who completed his heart.
The sudden weight on your lap got you distracted from the book you were reading and when your eyes moved away from the words, they focussed on the man laying beneath you. Putting your handbook away, your hands landed in his hair, softly massaging his scalp. ‘’what’s wrong?’’ you would ask him after his deep sigh. ‘’Im so tired.’’ Hoseok replied, his eyes closing from the feeling your hands made. Nodding your head in understanding, your hands left his hair and traveled down to his shoulder, gently guiding him to lay sideways so his eyes, faced your tummy. Hoseok snuggled closer, hiding his face against your tummy, his hands holding your waist carefully.
“You don’t always have to smile Hoseok. They’ll understand if you can’t. You’re only human afterall. I mean I personally would it find a bit creepy if someone only smiles and laughs, not showing any other human emotion.’‘ you chuckled, caressing his neck while you talked. ‘‘But I understand you want to be their hope, to be their light. In here with me, between these four walls, know that you can cry and scream if you need it, okay? I want you to know that you can lean on me.’‘ you finished, looking down at the emotional drained man. ‘‘It’s okay sweety. It’s okay. I will catch you.’‘ The muffled sobs got louder when you pulled him away from your shirt. Dipping down you kissed away his tears while your fingers pushed his hair out of his face. When Hoseok calmed down and his sobs tunrned into hiccups, you sat back up, smiling down at him. His glinstening eyes focused on yours, the sight melting your heart. Dipping down once again, you rubbed your nose against his, laughing as he chuckled too.
‘‘Better?’‘ you beamed.
‘‘Better’‘ He replied smiling, shifting his weight, his lips touching yours.
Tumblr media
Namjoon
This leader had a way with words, always making you feel better and the times when the roles were switched you did not hesitate to soothe his worries.
He was working on lyrics, his back hunched over the once blank paper now graced with inkt. The lamp standing on the corner of the desk, illuminated the room in a warm and calming light as the sound of scribbiling disturbed the silent night.
You were leaning against the door post, arms crossed over your chest, watching him writing, watching him throwing the pen on the desk, the paper feeling his frustration as it ended up crumbled on the ground. The way his head fell in his hands and the deep groan that slipped past his lips told you he was irritated.
Deciding to end his suffering, you silently walked over him. Once you were standing behind him, you glided your hands over his shoulders, down the papers on the desk to shove it away out of his sight. Namjoon’s head instantly shot up when he felt your presence behind him, his eyes following the movement of your hands.
‘‘You know, most humans are sleeping right now to let their body’s and mind rest. You can see it as a thank you for keeping you healthy.’‘ you spoke, your hands now wandering back to his chest and keeping it there. Your head was buried in the crook between his shoulders and neck. Hearing him sigh deeply, you felt him leaning back in the chair, the back of his head now touching your chest.
‘‘I know baby but those lyrics doesn’t write itself.’‘ He answered you, going against your words. ‘‘I know they don’t but don’t you think that if you’re sleep deprived that it is harder to come up with words. We all know you’re good with words but if you are well rested you can come up with something so magical, something so taking, something so heartwarming. You don’t have to work all night long. Army doesn’t want you to work all night long. Army wants to see you healthy and happy and if they know you’re siting here, pulling your hair out at 3 a.m. Oh boy they wouldn’t happy at all.’’
‘‘you’re right. I’m sorry.’‘ He looked up at you as you peeked down at him. ‘‘Now come to bed.’‘ grabbing his hand, you pulled him off the chair, dragged him to the bedroom and tucked him under the warm blankets.
Tumblr media
Jimin
Our (not) innocent charming boy needs someone to tell him it is going to be allright and who could do it better than his own s/o.
It was awfully quiet in your apartment. Most of the times when you got home from work (or school) you could always hear where Jimin was sitting but now you weren’t sure if he even was there.
Throwing the keys on the cabinet, after you’d taken off your shoes you called his name, making your presence known. Not getting any response you bit your lip in worry. Something was not right and so you tip-toed over to the bedroom across the hall. You softly knocked on the door, opened it slighty and peeked in the room. The sight that you found, his stiffled sobs made your heart bleed. The thought that he didn’t want you to hear him crying was so immense hurtful that tears sprung in your own eyes. Shaking your head, you quickly swallowed the lump that formed in your throat, shuffeled towards the bed and laid down behind him.
With one arm draped over him, your chin resting on his head, you had pulled him closer to your chest as the other arm slid under his neck, using your arm as a pillow for him. His silent sobs instantly stopped when he felt the bed dip down under your weight.
‘‘Please Jimin. Don’t feel embarassed. It’s okay. Crying is okay. It’s good for you too. did you know that?’‘ you whispered. ‘‘It’s like cleaning your soul, emptying your heart with all those junk you don’t have to carry with you. Please don’t hide your feelings. I’m not only there for you in the sunny days. I’m here for you in the foggy days, in the rainy days and the stormy days. You know why I like rainy days so much?’‘ you stopped talking for a minute and could feel the shake of his head, so you continued. ‘‘The earthy scent after rain, smells refreshing right? It’s like the universe are telling us that we need to release our worries, so we can feel refreshed again, feel relieved. The rain that feeds the plants so they can grow taller and beautiful. Don’t ever ever think that crying is a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of strength because I think that showing your emotions is the strongest thing a human can do. Understood?’‘ you finished.
‘‘Understood.’‘ he replied in his soft voice, still a bit shaky from crying.
‘‘Good, now turn around so we can cuddle’‘ you giggled, sliding down your arm from his neck while he turned around to face you. Wiping away his last tears, you showered his face in little pecks which made him shriek out in delight, trying to push you away but you did not butch.
‘‘No Jimin, You can’t escape my kisses now’‘ you laughed fake-evilly
He looked at you with so much adoration and love, trying to understand how he got so lucky.
Tumblr media
Taehyung
Oh no, another one who tries to smile throughout the pain. It’s heartbreaking really. Why do people do that?
Seeing Taehyung cry openly infront of you, you knew there was something completely wrong. It got you so of guard that you at first just stood there, watching how the tears roll over his cheeks, how they kissed his lips in sorrow. But the moment his broken voice called out to you, you snapped back to reality and held him in your arms.
You were speechless, unable to form those comforting needed words. You just stood there, holding him tightly while your eyes looked out of the window, focusing on the bright moon hanging in the night sky and suddenly you got it.
‘‘Taehyung? Do you think it’s okay to go outside? Are you comfortable with going outside?’‘ You knew it was weird to say something like that in this kind of situation but this was certainly going to make him feel better, so much better. Taehyung leaned back, his face no longer buried in your shirt as he looked at you and finally nodded what to you seemed like eternity.
‘‘Great! You can trust me Tae.’‘ Intertwining your fingers, you guided him out of the house and walked to your favourite spot. The pure scent of the night seemed to do Taehyung good as he already had calmed down abit. After a short walk you stopped infront of the swings, motioning Taehyung to sit. He at first, shot you a weird look but did what you told him to. Quickly jogging to stand behind him, you began to push making him go higher and higher up in the air and once you thought he was high enough, you walked back, hoping to see his face filled with joy and boy the sight that you saw caused your heart to pump faster.
The way his face was titled to the sky, the way the wind played with his hair and especially his smile that graced his face so beautifully that your breath got caught in your throat for a minute The moon casted an angelic glow around him and you just looked at him with a big smile on your face. Seeing him so care-free and free from tears and worries for awhile warmed your heart.
Taehyung tackled you to the ground after his feet touched the sand and kissed you. ‘’Woa Taehyung!’’ you laughed heartly when he pulled back but still hovered above you. ‘’Thank you y/n. Thank you so much. I didn’t know I needed this but I’m glad you brought me here. I feel so alive again. You did not even have to say anything. you just know how to comfort me. I love you.’’
‘‘I love you too Tae.’‘ You confessed, lifting your head up a little so you could give him your eskimo kiss.
Tumblr media
Jungkook
Standing in the kitchen, you were busy cooking dinner for Kookie and you. He was about to get home and you wanted that he could dive in the food you made since he would be hungry after practicing all day long.
Just as you were about to set the food on the table, you suddenly felt two arms around your waist and someone breathing down your neck. Gosh this boy really. Always sneaking up on you. Scoffing, you wanted to turn around but he quickly tightened his hold on you making it impossible for you to turn.
‘‘Uhm Jungkook... is something wrong?’‘ you asked him worried, clasping your hands around his. You got no answer, alarm bells instantly going off. ‘‘Jungkook please... what’s going on? Are you tired is that it?’’ You asked once again still facing the kitchen tiles, already knowing it wasn’t just tiredness
‘’Just... just let’s stay like this for awhile okay?’’ He finally said something although you could detect some pain in his voice you did not aks him further. ‘’If that’s what you want.’’ you hummed. You knew him well enough not to ask to many questions in this situation. He prefered the physical comfort more since he wouldn’t have to say anything and just bask in your presence but he knew that you were going to ask questions later and he was okay with that but for know he just needed to feel your warmth.
‘‘This is all very nice and all but.. Can I see you? I want to see my lovely boyfriend.’‘ you spoke up after a while.
Chuckling, he turned you around, your back leaning against the kitchen counter as you finally could see his face. The look in his eyes told you everything. Shooting him a tiny smile, your hands circled around his neck.
‘‘Kooks?’‘
He hummed, smiling down at you. ‘’Can you like, bend down a bit?’’ you told him more than asking. ‘’Why?’’
‘‘Because I want to do something but you’re too tall.’‘ you whined, sending some pressure to his neck. ‘’Fine.’’ Jungkook laughed and bend down now facing you at the same height. Before he could you ask why again, you were already rubbing his cheek with yours, your hands still holding onto his neck tightly so he couldn’t break away so easily.
‘‘Gosh y/n!’‘ His delightful laugh hugged your heart and a laugh escaped your lips aswell. ‘‘No Kooks, no. Let me!’‘ you jokinly wailed when you felt he wanted to break away. ‘‘But the food is getting cold!’‘
‘‘Oh shit!’‘ you totally forgot about the food. Pushing him away, you snatched the pans from the stove and jogged to the table. ‘‘Don’t think you get off so easily though!’‘ you giggled back at him.

Moonlight In Your Hands
Summary: You and Jungkook have long conquered your fear of talking to each other and becoming friends. Now it’s time to conquer the next one (vampire!au; werewolf!au)
“Senior year.”
“I know. Can you believe it?” Jungkook turns to look at you, grinning. “The vampire princess is part of the fucking upperclassmen.” You’re quick to punch his arm, but he’s hardly phased as he laughs heartily, the straps of his bag almost slipping clean off his shoulders.
“Shut up, you mutt,” you retort, frowning as you fix your sunglasses.
“Ooh. Feeling feisty today?”
“Shut up.” Jungkook all but cackles as he follows behind you, draping his arm over your shoulders when he catches up. “Jerk.”
“I’m kidding,” he says, nuzzling the side of your head with his nose. “C’mon. I’ll buy you a snack before class starts.”
                                                           ▫▫▫
You noisily sip at your smoothie, sitting under the shade of a tree as you watch Jungkook and Taehyung play wrestle on the grass.
“Idiots,” Jimin says, laughing beside you as he steals your drink and takes a sip. “It’s as if they think they’re still a pair of pups.”
“How embarrassing,” you reply. “I can’t believe there was a time I thought Jungkook was too cool to talk to.” Jimin hums in agreement, leaning back against the tree trunk behind you both.
“And look how far you’ve come.”
“_____!” You turn your attention back to the two wolves, hair disheveled and covered in strands of grass. “Keep score,” Jungkook calls out. “The loser’s buying dinner.”
“And exactly how do I keep score?” you ask. “I have no idea how this works.”
Jungkook is about to reply, but a snarl from Taehyung cuts him off, and he’s flipped over onto his back by the elder, hitting the ground with a quiet thud. You and Jimin share a look before rolling your eyes.
                                                          ▫▫▫
“Evening, son. _____.” Jungkook’s father stops in his tracks, stepping back to peer into the living room once more. “_____?” Quickly, you rush to your feet, bowing politely in greeting.
“Good evening, sir,” you greet, smiling a little.
“I wasn’t expecting to see you here tonight,” he replies, reaching his hand out to shake yours. “How are your parents? Are they well?”
“Yes, sir. Dad says he’s looking forward to another round of midnight golf with you next week.”
“Ah, yes.” Jungkook’s father chuckles, and you watch as the moonlight pouring in from the windows bounces off his canines. “Tell him to bring his A-game with him. I have no intention of losing twice in one month.”
“Sure thing, sir,” you reply, bowing again as he waves you off, motioning for you to return to the living room with Jungkook.
“Pfft. Golf,” Jungkook mutters as you sit back down next to him, not taking his eyes off of the television screen, thumbs frantically mashing at the buttons on his controller. “What an old man game.” You snort and pick up your textbook again, resting it on your lap.
“Tell me about it.” You flip through pages, blindly reaching out for one of your blood-infused gummy bears. “Are you not gonna study too?”
“Nah,” Jungkook replies, eyeing your hand as you reach out for a snack. He can see that your hand is not moving in the direction of your snacks, but of his – his meat chews. “Human anatomy’s always been a breeze for me, and if anything confuses me… meh. I’ll just borrow your notes.”
“You know what? Normally, that’d annoy me. But that’s how I feel about the blood and plasma mod–”
Jungkook desperately tries to hold back his laughter when you suddenly stop talking, frozen in your spot as the foul taste of raw meat surely starts to sink into your tastebuds.
“What. The. Fuck,” you say, spitting out the meat chew, disgust written all over your face. At your expression, Jungkook just can’t hold back anymore, falling onto his back and laughing, controller clattering against the hardwood floor when he drops it. “What the hell is this?”
His booming howls fill the room as you stare incredulous at the two bags of snacks lying side by side on the floor in front of you. The taste lingers in your mouth, and you search frantically for something to wash your mouth out with.
“You– I can’t believe– oh my god,” Jungkook pants, sitting up as he wipes the corners of his eyes where tears had begun to form, slightly breathless.
“Did you do that?” you ask, eyes narrowing with suspicion.
“Woah, hey. You can’t blame me for your own stupidity, _____.”
“That was totally you, wasn’t it? You moved your bag closer to mine so that I’d end up eating one of your nasty-ass meat chews.”
“Did not.”
“Did too.”
“Did not!”
“Did too!”
Annoyed, you lunge forward, tackling Jungkook to the floor, pining his wrists to the ground as he struggles underneath you. He continues to protest, but the way he chuckles in between words lessens his chances of you believing him. You let your eyes flash red in the hopes of frightening him, but he’s long gotten used to you in all forms, barely flinching at the change in your eye colour.
“I didn’t…” All of a sudden, you feel yourself leaning to the side, and before you can even blink, you’ve been flipped over, gasping as your back hits the floor. “Do it.”
Jungkook’s warm breaths fan across your cheeks as he pants above you, holding you down by your shoulders while your chest heaves as you lay exhausted from having to keep him down.
The air around you both changes immediately, and Jungkook watches the red of your eyes slowly fade back to brown, fangs retracting. The sounds of Jungkook’s video game have turned into background noise and you watch his throat move as he swallows thickly.
This is the first time you’ve looked at Jungkook so closely, and straight away you’re noticing things you’ve never seen before: the small scar on his left cheek that hasn’t fully healed yet, the little mole beneath his bottom lip, and the barest hints of stubble on his chin.
This is strange. There’s a weird sensation in the pit of your stomach, and you swear he leans forward just a fraction.
“Um. Jungkook?”
“Mmm?” He blinks silently, and then, as if something clicks in his head, Jungkook bolts up, pushing himself off of you before you can say anything else.
His eyes shift around the room, scratching his head and avoiding your gaze as you sit up, smoothing out your hair and fixing your sweater. You both move back to where you’d been sitting, Jungkook picking up his controller again but hesitant to start another game as he watches you drum your fingers against your textbook cover.
“Um.” You’re the first to break the silence. “I… I should go.”
“Yeah,” Jungkook replies, voice soft. You pack up your things in silence, not forgetting your back of blood-infused gummy bears. You smile a little when you both meet each other’s eyes, giving him a small wave goodbye. “See you tomorrow.”
“Yeah,” you say. “G’night, Kook.”
                                                         ▫▫▫
“Woah, woah, woah. Hold up,” Taehyung says, holding his hands out in front of him as you take a seat at the table beside Jungkook. You watch as he sniffs the air, Jimin turning to look at him confusedly.
“What? What’re you smelling?” he asks, watching Taehyung’s eyebrows furrow as his nose twitches.
“It’s weird. I think… I smell pheromones.” Jimin raises an eyebrow.
“Tae, there are couples swarming in this cafeteria. That’s not really something new.”
“No, no, no. This is different. I haven’t smelled this before. Do you smell it too, Jungkook?”
Jungkook looks up, spoon hanging out of his mouth as he sniffs the air.
“I don’t smell anything,” he says, turning to you. “Do you smell something?” You snort and lean back in your seat, sipping on your lunch.
“Yeah. I smell wet dog and the beautiful aroma of type A blood.”
“How do you always have A with you?” Jimin groans, leaning over the table to grab your drink from your hands. “Gimme a sip. Have mercy on this peasant, vampire princess.” Jungkook looks at you both with disgust, Taehyung still busy sniffing the air. Jimin all but moans as he takes a sip of your drink, sinking in his seat.
“You guys are nasty,” Jungkook says.
“Shut up. I only ever get to drink A on my birthday. Let me enjoy this.”
“Wait. If you drink A all the time, what were you drinking on your birthday last year, _____?”
“AB,” you reply, reaching into your bag for another bag of blood (Jimin makes sure to make an indignant sound at another full bag of A in your hands). “But AB’s kinda gross. I don’t understand how my parents love it so much.”
“Okay, seriously,” Taehyung interrupts, hands flat on the table. “Is no one else smelling that?”
“Calm down and eat your lunch, hyung,” Jungkook replies, rolling his eyes.
(What Jungkook won’t admit is that he does smell the pheromones Taehyung is talking about – and he knows exactly where they’re coming from.)
                                                        ▫▫▫
“Jungkook? Jungkook.”
“Huh?” Jungkook stops staring at the whorl in the wood of the dining table and looks up to find his parents and older brother looking at him expectantly. “Sorry, hyung. What’d you say?”
“I asked if you’re still down to go hunting this weekend with me and dad,” Junghyun replies.
“Oh. Yeah, of course, hyung,” Jungkook replies, smiling a little as he turns his attention back to his food.
“You seemed to be awfully distracted lately, sweetheart,” his mother says, head tilted slightly. “Is there something on your mind?”
“I’m fine,” he answers back, a little too quickly for his liking. “I’m fine. Just… you know… school and stuff. Assignments and whatever.”
“Ah.” He listens to his mother sigh wistfully. “I can’t believe my little pup’s already a college senior.”
“Mom, don’t be gross.”
“I feel like it was just yesterday that I had to feed Jungkook with my own b–”
“Mom, please.”
“Honey, not at the table,” his father says, laughing heartily around a mouthful of veal.
“Yeah, mom. I’m eating,” Junghyun adds, scrunching up his nose in distaste.
“I just can’t believe my boys have grown up, that’s all.” Jungkook looks over at his brother, and together, they share a knowing look between them.
“O…kay. Well, can I be excused? I have a paper due on Monday that I still need to work on,” Jungkook says, already standing and picking up his empty plate.
“Sure, son,” his father says. “Call out if you need a hand with anything.”
                                                        ▫▫▫
At his desk, Jungkook sits at his chair on the verge of falling asleep, his pen already slipping from his fingers’ grasp. But when the piercing ringing of his phone cuts through the silence, he bolts upright, answering the call and bringing it up to his ear.
“Hello?”
“Were you asleep?” you ask, chuckling quietly. “Sorry.” Jungkook is now properly awake.
“Nah, I wasn’t sleeping,” he replies. “What’s up?”
“Page forty-two. The question about chemical compositions in humans.” Jungkook laughs, reaching for his textbook and flipping through the pages.
“It’s been three years and you still can’t get the hang of ‘em?”
“Hey, shut up. Their blood is my only concern, okay? I don’t care about the calcium in their bones.” He can’t help but smile when you sigh. “I don’t even know why I decided to take this stupid class.”
“Why did you decide to take up Advanced Human Studies?”
(You know exactly why you’d taken up the class, but you don’t have the guts to admit it to him.)
“Who knows…”
                                                        ▫▫▫
It’s Saturday night, and you have absolutely no desire to study.
For some reason, everyone has decided to congregate in your home while all your parents have left to play their weekly rounds of golf. During the earlier half of the evening, Taehyung had still been insisting he was smelling something strange, his protests only encouraged when Yoongi and Hoseok seemed to share the same thought.
“Yeah. I mean, I can’t believe I’m actually saying this, but I agree with Taehyung. There’s a different smell in the air,” Yoongi says, eyebrows furrowed. “Did you guys redecorate in here or something?”
“No,” you reply. “Well, I mean, I’m just assuming my mom hasn’t gone decorating crazy again. Me and dad just kind of let her do it whenever, you know?”
“I’m surprised Jungkook’s the only one who can’t smell it though,” Hoseok says. “You have the most sensitive nose out of all of us.”
“I can smell it,” Jungkook says. “I’m just mature enough to ignore it.”
“Ooh. Mature.”
“Wait.” With narrowed eyes, Taehyung crawls over to where Jungkook is sitting, sniffing the air around him. He yelps with surprise and leans back, nose scrunched up. “It’s you!”
“What?” Jungkook asks.
“It’s you! You’re the one who stinks! Smell him, hyung.”
Hoseok leans forward, nosing at Jungkook’s hair, even as the younger tries to push him away, nearly bumping into you in the process. Hoseok’s eyebrows rise with surprise.
“Woah.”
“See?” Taehyung cries out. “That’s probably why I could smell something in the cafeteria the other day too.”
Curious, Yoongi leans forward too, immediately drawing back not long after getting a sniff of Jungkook.
“Woah. Jesus,” he mutters.
“I haven’t smelled something like that since…” Hoseok’s words trail off as he transitions from thoughtfulness to realisation.
“Since when, hyung?” Jimin asks.
“Since Yoongi hyung started dating Namjoon.”
Everyone freezes, all eyes turning towards Jungkook.
                                                        ▫▫▫
Taehyung is the first to break the silence.
“You dog!” he cries, tackling Jungkook to the ground with a laugh, the younger’s head only narrowly missing your knee. “Who is it?”
“What the f– hyung, get off me!” Jungkook cries, growling beneath Taehyung as he tries to push the elder off. The room is filled with laughter as the rest of the guys watch the two wolves wrestle.
“I will, right after you tell me who you’re dating.”
“No one!”
“Your scent says otherwise, brat.”
“I’m not dating anyone, I swear!”
“So you have a crush on someone then,” Yoongi says with a chuckle as Taehyung relents and sits back, letting Jungkook sit up again. Jungkook sends a snarl in Taehyung’s direction when the elder gives him one last playful shove before returning to his place beside Jimin. “Who is it?”
“Who’s what?” Jungkook mutters, grumbling as he settles himself next to you.
“Who do you have a crush on?”
Jungkook scans the room, meeting everyone’s eyes with a strong gaze. When he reaches you, however, he doesn’t seem to linger as long, and you raise an eyebrow, confused by the way he quickly turns away from you to look at Yoongi.
“No one,” Jungkook says, voice stern.
The shrill ringing of your phone cuts through the tension in the air, but hardly anyone flinches.
“Uh… be right back,” you mumble, grabbing your phone off the coffee table and disappearing into the kitchen.
                                                       ▫▫▫
“Hello?”
“Hey, sweetheart,” your father says. “Just checking to see that you, your friends and the house are still a hundred percent intact.” You roll your eyes and chuckle.
“We’re fine, dad. Nothing’s broken, and no one’s missing any limbs. Yet.”
“Yet,” he repeats with laughter. “Let’s try and keep things the way they are, shall we?”
“How’s the golf going?”
“We’re up three-to-one. Jeon’s is getting annoyed, I think. But the night is still young. I don’t wanna jinx anything and speak too soon.” You hum in reply. “Oh. Speaking of the Jeons… everything okay with Jungkook?” You furrow your eyebrows.
“Yeah? What do you mean, dad? Jungkook’s fine.”
“It’s just your mother was talking to his mother, and it seems as if he hasn’t been himself at home for the last week or so. Just thought I’d ask you and see if you know of anything that’s happened.”
“Nothing’s coming to mind right now. What’s Mrs. Jeon been saying?”
“Something about Jungkook being a little more distant and distracted than usual. He says it’s just school and whatnot, but she’s not so convinced anymore. If you have a moment, maybe pull him aside and talk to him, sweetheart. Maybe he’ll be more willing to talk to you than his parents.”
“Sure, dad. I’ll give it a shot.”
“Thank you. Alright. I better go before Jeon drives another golf cart into the sand pits again. Your mother restocked the fridge with some more blood bags and some venison if you kids get hungry. Call if anything happens.”
“I will. Knock ‘em dead, dad.”
“You betcha.”
As you hang up, you linger for a little while, your tongue rubbing against the tip of your fang as you think about everything that’s happened in the living room. There’s a weird sensation in the pit of your stomach as you recall the way Jungkook had looked you in the eye, or rather, almost refused to look you in the eye earlier.
It’s strange to think of Jungkook dating anyone, much less having a crush on someone, but the more you dwell on the thought, the more that feeling in your stomach seems to intensify. As you start to make your way back to the living room, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the refrigerator door, surprised to find your eyes a bright red. You blink and blink, rubbing your eyes with a clenched fist until you watch them fade back to their original colour.
                                                      ▫▫▫
All eyes are on Jungkook, no one moving even when you leave the room. It’s a good half minute, with your voice muffled by the walls, before anyone speaks.
“It’s _____,” Yoongi says.
“What?” Jimin asks.
“It’s _____. The smell isn’t as strong anymore now that she’s left the room.”
Jungkook doesn’t flinch, even as Taehyung leans forward again to sniff the air around the younger, but his jaw clenches as he tries to hold his tongue, watching as Yoongi seems to relax, leaning back into the sofa and turning his attention back to the television, as if nothing had happened.
“Interesting,” Hoseok croons, settling back against Seokjin’s legs with a quiet chuckle.
“How long have you liked her, Kook?” Namjoon asks, reaching out to ruffle Jungkook’s hair with a smile; Jungkook is quick to push his hand away.
“Who says I like her?” he mutters, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Please,” Taehyung laughs.
“Fine.” Jungkook huffs. “I like _____. So what?” Everyone shrugs, replying with unassuming hums. “Whatever. I need some air. It smells like mutts and blood in here.”
                                                      ▫▫▫
Tucking your phone into the pockets of your sweatpants, you return to the living room, only to find one person missing.
“Everything okay?” Seokjin asks.
“Yeah,” you reply. “Dad said there’re blood bags and some venison in the fridge if you guys want any.” Everyone gasps and turns to look at you.
“A?” Jimin asks excitedly; you roll your eyes.
“Probably. I told mom about your weird obsession with A.”
“It’s a healthy obsession, thank you very much,” he replies, already standing to run into the kitchen. Taehyung follows right behind him.
“Hey, hey! Bring some to me too,” Yoongi calls out.
“Where’s Jungkook?” you ask.
“Uh,” Namjoon replies. “He said he needed some air. He might’ve gone out the back to the pool.”
“_____,” Jimin says, sticking his head out of the kitchen door, a blood bag held between his teeth. “Do we need to save you some?”
“I already ate before you guys got here,” you reply, shaking your head.
“Hey. You better save some for us though,” Seokjin says.
You’re making your way to the doors leading to the backyard when Taehyung and Jimin jog past you, Jimin clutching armfuls of blood bags, and Taehyung with the entire platter of venison in his grasp.
                                                      ▫▫▫
You shove your hands into the pockets of your hoodie while you walk over to where Jungkook is sitting at the edge of the pool, drawing circles with his feet under the water.
“Hey,” you say, sitting down next to him with your legs crossed.
“Hey.”
“You okay?”
“Yeah.” He sniffles leaning back on his hands. “The hyungs were just being dicks. I needed to get out of there before I ended up destroying your living room.” You chuckle quietly. “Assholes.”
“You sure you’re okay though?”
“Yeah, why?”
“My dad called and he said that your ‘rents are a little worried about you. Something about you being out of it all the time.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.” You sense his hesitation, watching his feet still completely, eyes glued to the water. “If it’s nothing though, forget I asked.”
“It’s… kind of related to what the hyungs were going on about in there.” Jungkook reaches up to scratch his head, and that weird feeling in your stomach comes back.
“Oh. So… you’re dating someone.” Jungkook shakes his head. “Like someone?”
“Yeah,” he sighs, tilting his head back to look up at the stars. “And I don’t really know what to do about it.” He sighs again, before lowering his head to look at you. “Got any advice? I don’t really wanna ask anyone in there because they’re just gonna tease the shit out of me instead of telling me something I could actually use.” You drag your tongue across the tip of your fang.
“You could tell them,” you suggest, looking out at the pool lights and avoiding Jungkook’s eyes, desperately trying to ignore the feeling in your stomach. “It’s probably the last thing you wanna hear, but… you won’t know what to do next until you tell them. Try and keep yourself sane, Kook.”
There’s a beat of silence, and then…
“Alright.” Jungkook takes a deep breath before nodding his head once, turning slightly to face you better. “_____. I… like you.”
With furrowed eyebrows, you turn to look at Jungkook.
“What?”
“I like you.”
“Jungkook, what’re you doing?” you ask, chuckling nervously.
“I’m taking your advice. I’m telling the person I like that I like them and finding out what I need to do next.”
You gape, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water when you’re at a loss for words. “Huh?” is all you manage to say. How eloquent.
“_____. I like you.” Jungkook lets out a sigh of relief, falling back to lie on the grass, chuckling softly. “That feels really good to say out loud.”
You feel as if all the wind has been punched out of your lungs while you stay completely still, staring at the tiles that line the edge of the swimming pool. The weird sensation in your stomach has started to change into something warmer, and you can feel your insides flutter as you replay Jungkook’s words in your head over and over again.
“You, um… it’s fine if you don’t like me back. I’ve imagined this happening a million times, and most times I’ve imagined you rejecting me, so I think I’m ready. But still. Go easy on me if you can.”
In the distance, you can hear chatter from inside the house, something rowdy surely happening in the living room. It all becomes background noise quickly, however, and all you can concentrate on is the quiet chirping of crickets and the deafening thump of your heartbeat in your ears.
With your fangs digging into your bottom lip, you slowly fall back too, until you’re lying beside Jungkook with your hands still buried in the pockets of your hoodie.
“I.” You pause to clear your throat, not liking how nervous and shaky your voice sounds. “I, um… might… like… you too?”
There’s barely a sound from either of you for what feels like an eternity.
And then, there’s a gentle rustling as Jungkook turns onto his side, propping his elbow up and holding his head in his palm.
“Gross. The vampire princess likes me.”
You turn your head immediately, coming face to face with his cheeky grin.
“Fuck off,” you reply, but you can feel the laughter bubbling to the surface. “You confessed first.”
“Yeah, but you reciprocated. That’s worse.”
“You mutt.” Jungkook laughs and falls back onto his back. “So. What’re gonna do next, werewolf prince?” He lets out a thoughtful hum.
“Can I kiss you?” If it’s possible, the fluttering inside you seems to intensify just that little bit more.
“Sure.”
The rustling returns as Jungkook rolls over until his torso hovers above you, his knee pressed up against your thigh. A million thoughts seem to fill your head as he starts to lean in, suddenly all too aware that your lips are a little chapped, that you have no idea how to angle your head, or purse your lips, or how long the kiss should even la–
“Ah!”
The both of you flinch, and you scrunch up your nose at the weird feeling caused by your fangs colliding with Jungkook’s canines.
“Sorry,” Jungkook says, chuckling nervously. “I’ve never kissed anyone before.”
“It’s okay,” you reply, smiling. “Neither have I.”
“Um, take two?”
You nod back, and this time, you’re a little more ready for when Jungkook leans in, retracting your fangs as much as possible. He tilts his head before pursing his lips and pressing them to yours gently, careful to avoid another collision. Jungkook’s eyebrows furrow while your eyes flutter shut, one hand reaching up to slide into his hair.
For a few moments after you both break the kiss, you can’t seem to open your eyes, too lost in the feeling that’s clouded your head all of a sudden. It isn’t until Jungkook starts to nuzzle the side of your head with his nose that you seem to ground yourself again.
“We should go back inside,” he mutters, sighing quietly against your jaw.
“I guess, yeah. Better go and check on the damage those guys have done to my house.”
“I bet they didn’t even leave me any venison.”
