I completely feel your point of view, because Leesha is the classical thrope of the rich, popular, pretty and superficial but good-hearted girl who dates the dumb, handsome, athletic football quarterback who is also the school bully. But at the same time I see that Leesha is not indipendent at all, because she rely too much on others just from the beginning: she saw Gared as a way to run away from her mother; she accepted to become Bruna's apprentice to be protected by folk's prejudices and gossip and also escape from her mother and her tiny village life, she rely on The Painted Man and her mother to take decisions and also never makes a choice of her own. Leesha's whole personality is based on her desire to be different from Elona, her mother: she decided to wait until marriage for sex, unlike her mom; she became Bruna's apprentice because her mother refused the position in her youth (and also to escape from Elona's influence); she wanted he help others because Elona is only interested in help herself and is always described as selfish, even when she seems to care about her family, Elona never sacrife her desires or her own gain for other's well-being, while Leesha sacrifice always her own personal life over others, even if at the beginning of the book she expressed her dream for a family of her own. Leesha also not shames, as you wrote, other's sleeping around, she shamed people who cheat on their spouses: even if her childhood has been more comfortable and protected than Arlen's or Rojer's and both her parents are alive, she lives as a torture her mother's strong personality, the way she humiliate and bully her husband and this made her dream of real love. Elona married Erny for money, but never renounced to her love for Steave Cutter and cheated publicly on her husband in his own home. Also I think that Leesha refused her sexuality because she had been failed by all the men of her life: Erny failed to protect her (and himself too) from Elona, Gared lied and claimed that they had sex, the Messanger tried to rape her and didn't believe she was virgin (and then told her he didn't care about refugees' destiny), Rojer failed to protect her from rape, Arlen failed her by breaking her illusion and expectations about their relationship and abandoned her in the time of need, Ahmann Jardir lied to her about the number of his wives and plotted against her back with Elona to combine their wedding.

Basically Leesha dreamed of a savoir all her life, a person devoted only to her and who would love her exclusively, but her dreams faded facing reality.

Also her relationship with Gared is very problematic: she was superficially attracted to him because he was handsome, strong and was considered a leader by his friends cutters, but she closed her eyes about the worst part of his personality: Gared as teen was a violent bully! Leesha didn't care, because saw Gared as the only possibility to escape from her mother. Even if Gared seemed to be sensible enough to understand how painful was for Leesha seeing her mom cheating on her dad (with Steave, Garet's father) and humiliating him, Gared never acted against him father. Never. Gared changed and grow up from his bully past, which him regrets deeply and asked Leesha for forgiveness, but Leesha did not understand at all Gared! The main point that determined Gared's growth, was when his dad died: Steave was all the family Gared had and was also his role model: strong, bully, handsome cutter, but also the kind of person who is charismatic enough to become a leader. When Gared's father died, he started to look to Arlen as role model and started showing respect for others, kindness and also his own sensibility. Leesha (and Elona too) never considered Gared more than a dumb fuck boy. She seems to ignore all the personalities of the men who surrounded her: Gared, Rojer, Arlen, Jardir are only instruments. Not person to her. In this part she is very close to her mom.

Leesha Paper Vs Renna Tanner

This is about two female characters in The Painted Man series. If you like demons and old/alternative worlds then this is definitely a series that you need to read. I hate one, I love the other. This is why.

Leesha Paper: Possibly the character I hate the most in every book series ever (apart from Umbridge but then she is the most hateful character ever). At first I hated Leesha due to her perfect nature. She is the typical perfect character that male writers always seem to try and push into their stories, not realising this makes them the most unlikable. She is the most beautiful, talented, smart, independent, forgiving, kind, understand of everyone even the jerks that don’t deserve it. It made her so annoying and I really just hated her. Even when they tried to give you a tragic family life, I just wished her mother would have killed her off quickly and then jumped into a Corelings mouth already so we could be free of both of them. Then I got to know her. And I hated her even more. Not only is she portrayed as being perfect, but now she is a complete hypocrite. I mean she sleeps around (she’s suddenly amazing at sex, by the way, despite being a virgin up until now) and then has a go at others who sleep around. I’m telling you, some of my favourite scenes are when Leesha is crying or miserable.

Renna Tanner: I love her. I always did! From the minute she was introduced, I liked her. She was interesting. Her character is interesting. She’s beautiful, yes, but she is also angry a lot and insecure. She’s not that smart but she does have talents in fighting and she works on them to make her more talented. In other words. She’s human! (Which is ironic considering Leesha seems less human and Renna’s the one eating demon flesh with wards painted on her skin). It means I can relate to her and I like her and I just like her.

In summary, Leesha is an annoying character I hope dies while Renna is an interesting character that I hope lives happily (if not adventurously) with Arlen.

first of all – brownie points to you for knowing who her father is.  i honestly don’t talk about him nearly as much as i ought to.  lijsbeth takes the lime light because well — garet’s off doing his own thing in skyrim ; which is a constant in every verse & au.  what hurts though is that she has met him.  but so briefly & so few times that it’s never been a proper meeting.  ara doesn’t really know her father.  she’s met him, more or less always headed on his way out, less than a handful of times.  leaving for a very flawed & singular view of the man that isn’t a true vision of his character as a whole.  because in those incidents he’s generally been nothing but pleasant to her.  garet’s a ripe piece of shit but his spectrum of ‘what am i willing to do’ tapers off around the vague ‘unnecessary cruelty or harm to animals or children’ but it’s wonky because at the same time he’ll turn a blind eye.  prorities.  no one in ara’s genealogy has them. 

lijsbeth claims it was her second husband who fathered ara – when in reality she’d been bedding this nord sellsword she’d hired in the plot against her first husband & straggling irksome family.  ara has always known the truth & has dutifully enabled the public ignorance of her true blood father.  of course ; if she trusts you enough it’s an easy slip of the tongue seeing as she significantly favors her father over her mother.  she would be ecstatic to see him, circumstances willing, it’s a rarity & one she’s often desperate for.  she justifies his absence because … lijsbeth.  it’s safer for him to be away & unwed to the woman.  he can’t rightfully take her w/ him either.  or so she tells herself.  but the reality is that he’s had every opportunity over eighteen years, knowing his daughter was being abused & manipulated, knowing the sort of woman lijsbeth is.  the sort of man hershire is. 

& despite it all … ?  she’d ask him for a story.   

bonus round ;; skyrim verses leave for more opportunities w/ garet seeing as he’s meandering around the province & ara could plausibly find him or encounter him on a whim.  she’s asked delvin if he’s ever met or heard of him.  delvin hadn’t – but agreed to keep an ear out for his name.  delvin did in fact find him & wasn’t impressed.  ara is blissfully unaware & delvin plans to continue withholding this information from her because he really honestly just doesn’t want to subject her to yet another unnecessary emotional scar.  she’s young.  she’ll grow.  & he hopes she’ll either forget the man or come to terms w/ ‘yeah maybe my dad isn’t actually that gr8′.

A, a realistic headcanon) mordred has a gun because that’s what’s used in camelot, gawain was the one who taught him when he first showed up (because that’s his fucking job) and he can shoot pretty well, but he’s much better with a knife because that’s what the saxons used, he has a ton in his coat but doesn’t really let anyone know about them because the people of camelot are already suspicious of him

B, a funny headcanon) gawain frequently refers to him as being “like a brother” to him, mordred hasn’t quite figured out to tell him that he actually is his long-lost half-brother yet

C, an angsty headcanon) he doesn’t like talking about the first realized he was trans, if you ask him he’ll say it was because he cut his hair short and felt euphoria for the first time and then change the subject, the full story was that he had to cut most of his hair off because it was matted with the blood of his adoptive sibling garet, whose body he found (this is based in one of the fictions, by the way!), he felt really guilty afterwards for having a positive emotion connected to their death and this was made worse when people started blaming him for the death

D, fuck canon) he told gawain the truth about who he was before they both died. he just did okay. it just didn’t fit into the song well enough to be mentioned. he loved his brother, okay?

There were two things Ryan absolutely sucked at. One, acting and; two, any emotion that wasn't riddled with sarcasm. 

So he really couldn’t understand why he was picked for a mission where he had to act as the boyfriend of a complete stranger. This stranger, Luke Patterson, was a young, handsome man who was an old friend of a person that had incredibly important information that Tyler needed to get his hands on.

Apparently, when the angry asshole that was Ryan’s boss made the flippant comment of: “I don’t care. Go in there, pretend to be his boyfriend and get the info from the guy that we need. Batt your eyelashes or something, fuck if I know.”  

Ryan had grumbled to himself but knew better than to start an argument with his short-tempered boss. Even if he’d wanted to challenge his mission, Tyler was answering a call and walking from the room.

When sitting in the conference room, chatting with Joe about some training he wanted to expand on, Marcel dropped in an envelope with his mission’s details inside. He excused himself from Joe, taking the letter to his office and popping open his laptop,

He got onto his homework; finding out every little detail about both the target of the mission, and Luke Patterson.

Ryan got approximately twenty seconds alone with his “fiance” for the evening before the target turned up. He sat down with a curt smile, meeting Luke’s eyes and holding out a hand to shake in greeting.

Handsome. There were definitely worse-looking guys that Ryan could be forced to act in love with. Cool brown eyes held not even a hint of nerves or discomfort as the man took Ryan’s hand but not to shake it. He tugged, dragging Ryan forward into his space and catching him by the jaw with a large warm hand.

They were so close that Luke was able to rub the tips of their noses together in an intimate moment Ryan had never even thought of sharing with someone he knew, let alone a stranger.

He stayed still as Luke lifted to press a sweet kiss to his cheekbone. 

“Garet just got here,” he murmured to Ryan as he intertwined their fingers. “Relax. Let me do the talking.” His voice was tipped with sweetness, words curling their way into Ryan’s head and wrapping him up in a blanket of reassurance.

He beamed at Ryan as if he was everything Luke had ever wanted and Ryan realised he should probably be smiling back.

“Luke? Man, is that you?”

Luke lifted his face away from Ryan’s as their target noticed them and Ryan turned with a face of innocent curiosity.

“Garet? Shit! How long has it been!?” Luke’s face split with a friendly grin that was all too natural as he dropped an arm around Ryan’s waist to pull him close up to his side. He stayed seated where he could hold onto Ryan, but held out a hand in greeting as Garet drew closer.

The man laughed, his face brushed with age in the form of soft wrinkles and wisps of silver hair. Upon shaking Luke’s hand, his sharp grey eyes slid to Ryan in curiosity, before dropping to the pretty diamond ring on the professional marksman’s finger.

“You got hitched?” Garet asked and, finally, Luke stood. He pulled Ryan up with him and beamed down at his fake-fiance.

“Not so fast. Wedding’s booked for June.” The love in his voice molded pretty soft words and Ryan felt a flutter in his chest when meeting Luke’s eyes with a bashful smile. To have someone look at and speak to him with such adoration was definitely no familiar sensation. 

He cuddled into Luke’s side, snuggled under his fiance’s shoulder like he was used to spending his time there. “I’m Ryan,” he introduced, his voice sounding smooth and natural as he reached out and shook Garet’s hand. “Should we grab a booth?” 

Luke nodded and they let Garet lead them both to an empty booth. Luke shot Ryan a look of silent praise and Ryan tried not to show his pleasure in simply being smiled at. A stranger’s pride wasn’t exactly a normal feeling to accept.

“Are you still working in the car shop?” He popped down beside Luke and dragged Ryan’s arm back to its place around his waist. He hadn’t expected himself to sink into his little acting role so easily but there was something about Luke that had confidence and comfort rolling down his spine. He found it almost easy to share Luke’s smiles and softened his eyes as he nestled his head on Luke’s shoulder.

The sharp laugh Luke let out had a smile on Ryan’s own face. “Work in it? I own that car shop now,” he teased and his pride was evident in his tone. “I bought it four years back and business has almost tripled.” 

“Wow, man!” The awe in Garet’s voice sounded genuine as he reached a hand over the table to clasp Luke’s in a firm shake of congratulations. “That’s amazing news, bro. Congrats!” Ryan laughed lightly, snuggling further into Luke’s side as his fiance sat back in the booth. “So how long have you guys been together?” Garet asked, a kind smile on his face when addressing Ryan. 

The arm around his waist tightened and Luke beamed with more pride than he had shown for his business. “Well, we met through the shop. Ryan, here, managed to get his car stuck in a ditch off the highway. He’d popped two tires and damaged the brakes; his car needed a week in the shop before she was back on her wheels. And maybe I took my time on her just so I got to see Ryan a couple more times; I couldn’t get him out of my head! So, like a proper gentleman, when he came by to pick up his car, I left my number on the dashboard instead of talking to him and asking him out, and waited anxiously for three days before I got his text wondering why I had left my number, which basically forced me to ask him out directly which, really, is karma for being such a chicken shit about it all-” Ryan could barely follow the story as Luke carried on. The love in his voice sounded more real than anything and he struggled to keep the surprise off his face as he tried to keep all of the random little details in his own memory. When Luke cut himself short, he dropped his attention down to Ryan and brushed his thumb over the curve of the marksman’s hipbone. “I’m rambling again, aren’t I?” 

Ryan’s smile came with ease and he found it too easy to reach up and catch Luke but the jaw, pulling him down to Ryan could press a kiss to his “fiance’s” cheekbone. “Yeah, you are,” he told him, ignoring the slight widening of Luke’s eyes. It seemed he really didn’t expect Ryan to fall quite so easily into the act.

But Luke bounced back within seconds, not showing his shock for long enough for anyone but Ryan to notice. He nuzzled his nose against Ryan’s temple with a grin. “Basically, I got a date with him and the rest is history.” He turned his attention back to Garet who was sipping his drink with an amused smile. 

“Well, I’m real happy for you man,” he said with a nod. “Things seem great for you, and you deserve that.” 

Luke grinned. “Thanks,” he said, pausing a moment before cocking his head in curiosity. He leant forward slightly on the table, his smile dancing with secrecy. “You still working with Miles?” Luke asked with a voice low and knowing. 

Something flashed in Garet’s eyes and Ryan kept his face innocent. Their company raised a hand to scratch the back of his neck with a laugh. Immediately, Ryan was focused; on every word, every pause. He drank in the information Garet gave, the explanations and the stories. He jotted down all the things he needed to know in his mind and, while he rested his cheek against Luke’s shoulder and took a sip of his cocktail, he revelled in the pleasant success of his mission.

Playing golden sun for the millionth time and it still frustrates me that neither saturos/menardi or isaac/garet recognize each other. I get isaac and garet were kids when they met, and probably traumatized, but how do you forget someone as unusual as saturos or menardi? Plus the secrets of psynergy are supposed to be unknown to the rest of the world, so wouldn’t it be suspicious if the same two ppl came twice to fuck around in sol sanctum? 

Actually if that’s the case, wouldn’t ANY adult in vale recognize the two? lmao

“Wassup everyone! This is Yuzu and you’re watching Choi’s Choice!”

Once more the stream starts with Yena sitting in front of her laptop, headphones over her ears as she gets comfortable in her office chair. “Hello, hello my lovely viewers! Welcome, welcome to another episode of Choi’s choice!” With enthusiasm she claps her hands together and folds them under her chin, lips pursing into a smile as she puffs her cheeks up.

“If you’ve been following my tweets you know that today’s episode will be a very special one that I hold dear to my heart because~ I have been elected to participate in a charity project! Meaning that all donations you make today will go directly into charity organisations all across the world! Further information is left in the description on the video- if twitch did it right there should be... a tiny fancy button there directing you to get more info...” Trailing off mid-sentence to read the commentaries streaming in, the young woman smiles when apparently the navigation is easy accessible! 

“Wonderful!” She exclaims finally and turns back to stare straight into the camera with a smile. “So as I was sayin’- it’s for a good cause! So I’m gonna be streamin’ not only one- not two, no! I’m gonna be streamin’ for three hours in total today! And to celebrate the occasion further I’ll be streamin’ one of my all time fave games I haven’t touched in centuries!”

She loads the screen up and just like that the view switches to her in miniature right side corner while the game screen takes up most of the view. Yena sings along to the intro as it plays and reads the title out loud as soon as it pops up.

“GOLDEN SUN! That’s right folks! This game is almost as ol’ as good ol’ me and I love it! Was one of the first games I played when I got my gameboy advance. Those were the days!” She chats on as she sets up the intro settings, quickly going through the title menu. “So our dude’s name is Isaac and I do love his name so I ain’t gonna change that one.” After that comment she falls silent, letting the cut scene unfold that opens the game. A few gasps and “oh no’s” are given when the situation is revealed to her audience but only when she’s actually free to move with Garet in the party does she speak up again, humming under her breath. 

“Oh~ the nostalgia! It’s been like... 5 years since I last played this? Sure the graphics are meh but just... ahh you’ll see!” An alarm startles her up before she realizes what it means and the streamer is tilting her head forward with a laugh. “Right! My set reminder! So this is my timer telling me to remind ya guys to donate lotsa money! Yer donations go to kids in Africa, into their healthcare and education as well as supportin’ the people there to get clean water n stuff! Be wise, do a good deed today! I’ll try to make this stream as entertaining for y’all as I can, okay?! Well then- let’s see what else do we got comin’ at us!”

She’s about thirty minutes in when the intro finishes and despite it being a few years there are still tears in her eyes. “Man... it sucks y’lose yer father right off the fuckin’ badge when the game starts. Old school games really knew how to mess up a dude.” A sigh leaves her lips as she leans back to witness yet another cut scene, a gasp falling from her lips when the newly introduced scholar Kraden suggests sneaking into the holy sanctum. “Y’see- this is why knowledge is dangerous! Curious people be screwin’ with dangerous artifacts, draggin’ kids into their business- damn you Kraden!” 

There’s comments pouring in still, the number of viewers growing as she streams on and the donation counter running on full speed. It fills Yena with pride to be doing something good for the world, to give back instead of cash the money for her own savings. Her commentary is just a tad bit more witty and sassy, the effort she makes to be funny for her audience seems doubled and by the time she’s an hour and a half in, Yena has only just playing through the whole story leading up to the reason they are even heading out on a journey in the first place.

“So far so good- guess it’s only fair we gotta bring the stones back if we’re the ones that let ‘em get stolen, eh? Sucks doe- technically this was all Kraden’s idea, what the fuck ol’ man?! Dun rope us into yer shitty scholar curiosity expeditions and then let yerself get kidnapped! Geez.” Her eyes roll but knowing how the story will unfold she can’t help but think fondly of the old guy.

She stays true to her character anyway and keeps on playing, reminding people to donate every twenty minutes into her gameplay. 

By the time she wraps up they have reached the high city up in the snowy areas and are about to get their forth party member but that is knowledge her audience will find out either by playing the game themselves or staying tuned in hopes for a continuation of her playing golden sun. “Well then! Hope y’all had fun. It seems we gotta stop here. My tummy’s doin’ the rumbles that only chicken can satisfy and I’ve been on air for legit 3 hours now.I’d go longer but I doubt y’all wanna watch me inhale fried chicken while I grease up my keyboard.” Even Yena herself has to scrunch her nose at that thought, quickly shaking her head in the process. As much as she enjoyed the spotlight and as confident as she was in her abilities to make about every activity entertaining, there were limits to certain things that she wasn’t always sure she wanted crossed. Gaming while eating and streaming seemed one of those lines. 

“Alright folks! This is where I wrap up with some quick shout-outs! We start off with @ kingdomcanes for their hilarious compilation of “the different Yuzu screams”. I was laughin’ so hard- geez I do make funny sounds, huh? Next up is @ zoel2312 and their animated art of me flailin’ about as I tried to beat that boss from the last story stream. That’s some good quality art ma dude, thanks! Also I’m gonna give another shoutout to @ vortexbiatch for actually donating 500 bucks! Woah thank you so much, you’ve got a heart of gold, those in need will hella appreciate this. Thank ya so much for enjoyin’ my streams and donatin’ so much! About the Shannara finale & season in general

This is gonna be long so…

First of all, i wanna be very clear. I’m not trying to spread hate for the show. I love this show. i would never say anything hateful cause i appreciate how this show is and how it wants to be, and i don’t want it to be cancelled due to negativity. I’ve just been frustrated about it…at least lets say since the finale, and I’m writing this to try to get it out of my system.

First of all, I’m a wilretria shipper. since day 1 Eretria&Wil have been my babies. so I’m sure you can see where some of my frustration comes from.

Second. From day one my favourite characters have been Eretria, Allanon and Ander (see why my frustration?)

Eretria: I love Ivana. when she won the Goya award i clapped like crazy. And then turned our Eretria was awesume. Anything anyone would want to be. Strong, an amazing fighter, brave, loyal….and as we also learn, kind and even sweet.

Allanon: i love Manu since i don’t know when, so him being the druid guy…i knew it was gonna be badass. and then it was. and i couldn’t love Allanon more.

Ander: the cool friendly uncle. helping niece to run the race, going to get her at the party like “omg girl you look stunning, that’s ma niece” and then talking relationships with her. I JUST LOVED HIM. and then he also made impossiblefor me to focus on tragic moments. i don’t tag him “the ‘dat ass’ elf” for no reason…

Well, so far you can see season 2 has not given me happiness in this matter. 1 became ashes and the other a waterfall (sort of)

What frustrates me about these is, well..the books. I still haven’t read them, cause i was waiting for the end of the season, but i read a couple of things, from which i got that Ander&Allanon probs both died on the 3rd book. Ok, i can deal with that but...I can’t? cause I thought this season was filling a gap between book 2 and 3. but that’s ok i guess. follow the book way too early.

But what gets me about this is that then I can think or say, “ok, so i guess then they will also follow the book for Eretria and Wil, right? I mean…cmon. It doesn’t seem like that for now, but you know, that’s what a season 3 would be for”, but then people say “oh cmon, the tv show doesn’t have to follow the book, stop with the books”. But the thing is, season 1 was very much like the book from what I’ve heard. I remember reading in the Nerdist website they said they wanted to keep it very similar to the book, that they only made Eretria have more depth and do something more than FALL IN LOVE WITH WIL AND FOLLOW HIM AROUND (sorry, dunno why that capbloq itself…oh wait, i do) So, they are gonna follow and even make happen ahead of time things that happen in the book, but others..neeeh. ok, that frustrates me.

And one other thing, since i’m talking about my ship. I feel wilretria shippers have been mostly completely silent this season. I don’t think we have created any drama regarding Lyria. We just kept getting blows and letting that relationship happen without saying a thing. Because we fear if we say anything we will be called “homophobic”, get hate and things like that. And it is frustrating cause we aren’t voicing ourselves because we aren’t dicks, and we are letting everyone enjoy their ship, but this may ruin any chance of our ship happening if they think we don’t care. And we are seeing it getting even harder with the Mareth thing. So i want you to understand, i don’t care if Eretria has a gf, she is bi so she can have all the gfs she wants. But shutting out Wil completly as a possibility cause yes...no. I love Wil and Eretria even since before i watched the show. I do care, so much.

Now about season 2 in general:

PROS

Garet Jax or “jarjar gax” how i like to call him for funsies. total badass. I wished we could have know what was his past entirely cause it seemed interesting, dammit.

Mareth: She was cute and sassy, a magic user in a different way we had seen, which was cool! and then, related to Allanon, which is great considering we also know nothing about Allanon, or Mareth’s mom. So nice, she could be anything and take us anywhere

And on that note, something I’ve always appreciated about this show, from Tilton, to Allanon, to the gardener, to the background actors, to the rovers & elf hunters...this world really seems like a real post-apocaliptic world cause there’s people from all etnicities. these season some more in leads. good show

This stupid season made me love Wil. That lil bitch annoyed me so much. But he is too cute. And we saw him in his lows and in his highs. using the magic unwisely, hugging the hell out of Eretria when it turned out she wasn’t dead (this poor kid, i swear to god. a whole year thinking he lost Amberle and Eretria; the latest being his fault for leaving her behind). Also he made his peace with Allanon awww. And to be honest I love his death scene. It mirrored Amberle’s and now all our 3 heroes have died to save everyone (let’s not forget ma rover bleeding herself out, ok?) And thank whomever must be thanked, he isn’t dead. You can’t die when i start to love you, a-hole. tho that’s what this show does to me.

Eretria: We got to see where she comes from, what will be her challenges and how her loyalty to her friends is stronger and bigger than anyone could ever have thought. Also she was badass as always.

Ander. I mean, Ander is everything. anything with Ander was the best scene ever. dat ass. best king ever. bless. he also said Eretria is family and at this point I dunno if i want Eretria to marry Wil or him cause honestly “yes, i remember when i met your mom...i fell for her instantly. i mean, she kicked me in the face and let me unconcious, but..” is a great “meetcute” Also the threw that traitor down the waterfall omg my king is so fucking badass.

Allanon: i mean...pfft it’s allanon. everything about him is a pro, duh. Giving him a family and showing him caring for Wil was nice too. he is not a heartless guy. he loves all this crazy kids.

Bandon, Riga, Warlock lord: god, you bunch of asshoooles. i hate you all so muuuuch. Good bad guys :) The warlock lord became my hero when he de-headed Riga. you deserve it biiitch omgggg for Andeeeer. Then the Bandon thing...i mean...poor Bandon, but bitch, you had everyone occupied and Riga killed Ander. Then my new hero warlock lord killed that ship traitor Allanon (i was like that’s what you get! but then he was cursed and became ashes....and i was like, ok a bit too much) and then he did the other thing and i was disappointed on my new hero. i was all “i was rooting for youu” They all where awesume at being bad. is awesume having such great baddies

I can’t believe i almost forgot her

Ambertree: or Amberle, as you prefer. I really didn’t want her to be back for the sake of my ship. but I also did start crying when i saw her in the trailer. So i guess i love her too. And seeing her was so nice. I missed the elf princess. but stay as a tree please Amberle. (ps, also wtf amberle you too with the Mareth thing, i take it back, i hate everyone on this show)

CONS

Ander: Can you please explain to me what the hell has this poor thing done to deserve this shit? His brother dies. he becomes this depressed drinking ball of an elf and loses his gf. years later his dad, his bro, half of his goddamn castle, his ex he still loves die. ALL DIE. His niece becomes a tree. And he has to be king. Also Eretria kicked him in the face (i kind of ship it) And then we get to season 2 and the girl he is with s murdered (....i wasn’t on board of this anyway cause god Catania, you effed the Bandon inprisonment, didn’t ya. but if Ander my love was happy. but no. and then he gets murdered trying to save this girl (Eretria i’m never going to forgive you for being up to tell her to get up and run, but not to throw a knife and save my elf husband). and so the story of Ander ends. Being throw down the traitors waterfall, where no one can recover his body and give him the royal funeral he deserves. I will forever be bitter about this, i kid you not. #longlivetheking

Allanon: Again, my babies cant catch a break. He is trying to stop Bandon, turns out he has a daughter with his loved one and we don’t get to see them become dad and daughter. I had already accepted he was gonna die because i read someone saying “after what happens in book 3″ And then he drops that “you and mareth are ma ship” bomb. my brain: “oh you asshole how dare you to compare them with you and Pyria. You can die now, byeeeee” (i’m evil, i know).

Eretria: I feel this season didn’t do much for her. I guess she did all the development she could do in season 1. But i feel they mistreated her a lot. I get she has a girlfriend, or so, cause at some point she had broken up with her i think...but i feel the way they made her interact with Wil was just weird. The little times they interacted. that was annoying. (those two have so much chemistry they have to keep ‘em apart or we all would be arranging their wedding by the “welcome back, shorttips”) Eretria has always been in love with Wil, let’s be honest. We all saw her face the day Wil said “there is no us” or when she saw him kissing Amberle. We all know without Amberle in the picture things would be very different. Does no one really remember he was up for it the same day he met Eretria? and then some days after in the palace room? (also let me point out Eretria does love will cause to rob some stones she could have giving him an “Ander” and leave. but she didn’t. she stayed, and said would never call him shortips again). So this two at the very least had the hots for each other to begin with. Also let me remind you how Wil cried when Eretria died. He used the stones for something else than killing a demon for the first time to save her (if that doesn’t scream love, soulmates, endgame or whatever, i dunno what does) And this season, tho they have kept giving us sweet moments of the two, where we shippers kept our hopes high (the tree girl was gone, this was out moment), and we hoped to see THEM FALL IN LOVE AND GET TOGETHER (since its a space between books, you know)... and that’s why the complete anulation of this ship is so painful for some of us. We felt Amberle was some sort of puppy teenage love, and Eretria would be the true love woman for Wil....but no. anyway...a Shannara and a child of the Apocalypse. Good magic & (bad/good) magic. ancient kings blood, ancient humans blood. like honestly.

Wil: I’m not gonna blame the poor kid for being an emo and be mad at the world, cause his life went to shit last epi of last season (if not all season in general). And i honestly developed love for him this season. BUT...this thing about him and Mareth...I feel it came out of nowhere. They were just friends and then one day she makes eyes to him and he makes eyes to her? there wasn’t even a big thing where i could say, where there they realized they love each other...and out of nowhere they are the biggest love story eveeer. im sorry, no. i can’t. I get everyone loves them, but i...no. (again, i guess is the wilretria shipper in me who sees more past and more development in the relationship and that this was happening too quickly out of nowhere) (Also the pre-death kiss, that was i guess so romantic and adfghjklñ....kinda ruined the scene for me. like “oh ffs, die already, Wil!”*narrow*” was a thing that happened in my brain)

Others: I dont think I have much complains about the others. One of the only ones is Lyria’s storyline. i feel like the only thing i saw her do was mope and cry? and that one time she stood up to her mom, planned a wedding with Ander and once held a sword (which i feel they really exploded to make her look badass)...i feel like they made this character to be the love interest, and im sorry for it cause it could have been so much more. Also that “don’t wanna be a princess I’m running away but yas i wanna be queen” thing...does it even make sense for the person we were introduced to? also it was the fact that I had to buy into her love story with Eretria. When i saw in the trailer she was gonna have a gf i was like, oh no...more difficulties for my ship, but hey yes, let’s see what happened here. But then...i didn’t know anything about them? when did they meet? how long have they been dating? “where you go, i go”...where does that come from? how did i know what Lyria’s mom told Eretria about her saying that to everyone wasn’t true? Maybe my ship blinds me, but i feel this relationships started as if i started season 1 with will and Amberle frickfracking and then she becoming a tree and I’m supposed to be super sad, but i can’t I don’t know if it makes sense since i shipped Pyria and Allanon since moment 1 but that’s probably my “omg star crossed lovers, him staying young while she grows old, not seeing each other in 30 years shdfadlgfhañsla” loser heart Mareth: I was here for the magic kids friendship until it stopped being a friendship. now she is ruining my life. and i don’t appreciate it.

Ok, I think that is all. I know it seems like I didn’t like this season, but omg, i loved it. it was so intense all the time, and so many awesume fights, and some great new characters. Is just that I had hopes for my ship just to see them sinking more and more. at this point I’m Artax and my ship is more a submarine.

I can’t wait to see what they do in season 3 (and probably cry and hate everyone cause my ship sinks), but this show is too good to end forever in a “to be continued”. I want my babies back

2020 IS CANCELLED

It’s April Fool’s today and it seems like this year has been a huge joke and it’s not funny. We’re down to the fourth month of the year but napakadami ng nangyari. I had so much plans for March but none of it happens except for my Kuya’s Wedding last March 4 probably the only good thing that happened last month. I was really looking forward for March because for the first time in my life, I had plans unfortunately the universe was not really happy with my plans. 

March 15 Metro Manila was placed on enhanced community quarantine because of the virus Covid-19. Work was suspended and we were not allowed to go outside. It was legit scary because on the first week of the quarantine I had cough and colds that I had to visit our family doctor to have a check up because it’s scary as hell to go to the hospital. Events were also cancelled just like the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Clark I was supposed to attend with Rafael. I already bought tickets and prepared my outfit tapos ayun hindi rin tuloy hahaha last minute request ko pa kay Garet yun kasi nga impulsive buying of tickets and buti na lang pumayag sya. Sobranf excited ko pa imagining everything that will happen that day I was even thinking of booking an Air BNB cause I know mahihirapan kami umuwi tapos ayun nga cancelled because of the pandemic virus. 1 month and community quarantine so that means my Boracay trip for March 22 to 24 was also cancelled. The hassle of refunding everything from airline tickets, hotel and transfer was a fucking nightmare lalo na yung Air Asia. Hotel booking and Transfer lang successfully naming na-refund yung Air Asia hopeless na. First time ko sanang makakapunta sa Boracay I was so looking forward for my March this year kasi early birthday gift ko na sana yun sa sarili ko pero ayun nga mukhang hindi talaga para sa akin. Now, we’re in 3rd week na yata ng Quarantine and sobrang toxic na sa social media so I decided to deactivate my facebook account for a while because it’s not gonna be healthy for my mental state right now. Nahihirapan ako matulog the past few weeks and I’m having anxiety attacks at night kila Mama ako natutulog pero for the first time since this Quarantine, kagabi lang ako maaga inantok at nakatulog ng maayos hindi ko din alam kung bakit pero fulfillment na sa akin yun to think na nag-coffee pa ko before going to sleep. 

This community quarantine made me realize a lot of things, you should never take advantage of anything you have at the moment. Cherish every moment with your family and love ones you never know what’s gonna happen tomorrow. Appreciate everything you have and thank the Lord for all the blessings. Imagine walang may alam na magiging ganito kalala ang lahat. Sabi nga ni Senator Pacquiao walang value ang money ngayon, may pera ka nga pero hindi mo naman magastos, may kotse ka pero hindi ka makaalis. At this time makakaramdam ka ng panghihinayang na sana pala sinulit ko na yung mga kinain ko sa restaurant before, sana pala sinulit ko na yung time ko with my friends. I just hope na sana matapos na to because no one really knows when this is gonna be over or if makakabalik pa ba sa normal ang lahat. I’m praying na sana makahanap na ng cure or ng vaccine para sa kalaban natin na hindi nakikita. Marami ng frontliners ang nawala and we can’t thank them enough for all their sacrifices. I know God has plans and everything happens fpr a reason.

AU centered around Sheba landing elsewhere as a baby? (Landing in Prox or near Champa or Shaman Village for example, whichever you take to be most interesting)

She falls in Prox. She breaks through the dark sky at the dead of winter and lands right in front of the Lighthouse. There have been talks, already, of doing something about the chasm. The miracle is seen as an omen, a message from the Mars Star, and even reluctant Puelle has to concede that this means approval of the plan that had been hotly debated. A delegation is sent to Mount Aleph. Even a full decade earlier, Saturos and Menardi are already amongst the best of Prox, and though they do not lead, they are part of that party.But they are younger, and not as desperate (the threat and the edge of the world still more distant), and they are bolder and brasher, bolstered by the knowledge that their mission has the blessing of Mars. There are no survivors this time.

When no one comes back, Puelle, who has been entrusted with the caretaking of the fallen child, realizes that perhaps she was not the message, but the messenger. She will be their hero, she will be the one who releases Alchemy and saves Prox.So she is raised as a hero and trained as a warrior, even though she is a fragile human without scales or claws. She becomes very much not fragile by OUR standards, but she has to work a lot more than the average Prox kids to even match them in power. She fucking does, because if there’s one thing that’s even stronger in her than her rebellious spirit, it’s her spite.She grows up along with Karst, who is only a few years older and is one of the few children in Prox who has no sibling to pester into sparring with her. They beat each other up multiple times a week and become friends. Karst is a much different, more likeable person this way around; she has grown up with her parents’ mourning (further complicated by the fact that they just never heard back of the mission at all, never had the news, never saw a body), and she doesn’t remember her sister for herself. Where Sheba is actively encouraged to be adventurous and destined to leave Prox to travel the world and is given daily outlets to channel any frustration and aggressivity into beating up training dummies, Karst is very sheltered by her parents and a much calmer, melancholy kid. But she also wants to be a warrior, and trains hard to be able to accompany and protect her funny little white-skinned and scale-less friend when the time comes.

The time comes when Sheba is eighteen and the void is only the size of a few houses away from the Lighthouse — perhaps a couple years left until it falls in. The trip has been discussed for ages, and the conclusion was: since twenty of Prox’s best warriors were not enough, no force this time; diplomacy or stealth, only a couple warriors — Karst and Agatio — as escort to the Messenger From The Sky, and two more to stay outside of Vale and come back to report to Prox. When they reach Vale, Garet is twenty-one and has been an orphan since the age of three. Felix, who was only four years old when the boulder fell this time, never was on the pier, and his and Isaac’s family made it out perfectly safely, but Garet’s parents, the mayor’s son and his wife, were young and lively and good Adepts. They were first in line to deal with the catastrophe, and they both perished. The mayor is technically elected, but the position is often inherited, as a mayor’s children grow up seeing and learning how to take care of the town. So Kay and Garet are in the room when Sheba and Karst stampede into their grandfather’s house (and Agatio follows sighing and preparing for disaster).Sheba is in charge, so the talks do not really go very smoothly, but it has been almost twenty years — the wounds are not as fresh. There’s more talk. Sheba actually mentions Prox’s fate. Kraden has been living in Vale for longer and is allowed to sit in and contribute to discussion. In the end, Kay and Garet, along with their husbands Felix and Isaac (BECAUSE I DO WHAT I WANT), take Sheba, Karst and Kraden into the Sanctum. (Agatio is made to stay behind as collateral and also being the most dangerous. He’s fine with that, he gets a pot of tea and chats with the old mayor while Aaron and Jenna glare at him.)TL;DR they almost kill everyone again because Karst, but no one gets kidnapped and in the end they get the stars, Vale grudgingly allows them to try and do the thing, Kraden insists to come along To Witness This, and so do Isaac and Felix to give some Venus support and Vale rep (and babysit him) while their mayor’s-family spouses stay back to look after the town. A week into the trip Felix and Karst have a rivalry over who is Sheba’s better bodyguard (this despite the fact that Sheba can fry monsters perfectly well on her own).

Alex never met the Proxians and never left Imil. He is the one that takes them up Mercury Lighthouse, and between him and the three Proxians, it is a joyride. Then he tags along because he’s interested in releasing Alchemy, and Mia ambushes them outside the Lighthouse and joins the group as well because the Lighthouse is now lit (and possibly more of her Clan has survived with Alex’s additional help) and because she can’t possibly let her lunatic cousin out of her sight on a trip to release Alchemy.The sass. The banter. The snark. Constantly. Sheba is probably head over heels in love with Mia by the time they reach Kolima.

… Four years earlier, they may well have met Ivan as a tree in Kolima. But this time, Hammet just happened to not be in that part of the world at the time of the eruption, and instead, they first meet Hama at her temple, who teaches Reveal to Sheba and tells him to look for a young man in Kalay, after the desert, who is fated to help them, and to take him with them across the ocean. They do the logical thing and go ask the town leaders if he knows anything about a Fated young man in town, and Hammet and Layana have The Talk with Ivan. They cross the sea to Tolbi in one of Hammet’s merchant ships.

Babi is already dead, but since they’ve single-handedly saved the Colosso and Tolbi’s economy by wiping the Karagol of its monsters, Iodem shrugs and agrees to let a young woman compete in the Colosso. SHEBA CHEERFULLY CHEATS AND KICKS MAJOR ASS. Iodem considers opening it to teenage girls starting next year, Felix judges as the snarky entire rest of the team deadpan that yeah there’s probably an audience for that.The construction of Babi’s lighthouse was dropped as soon as he kicked the bucket, possibly earlier, because Iodem isn’t a monster. Venus Lighthouse goes without a hitch, except for the slight tsunami problem that comes after. Alex has to be yelled at to help Mia into protecting Lalivero from the worst of it. They get Babi’s Lemurian ship because… uuhhhh… idk Iodem gifted it to the town as excuses for the lighthouse thing? I don’t remember if it can be sailed at all by non-Adepts, if they have the thingy that makes it go Black Orb. (Piers didn’t get stranded by the tsunami bc he just happened to not be out fishing that day. They meet him in Lemuria at some point and he’s a bit wistful, but his mom is still alive.)

Jupiter is the easiest. Nothing much to say here. Ivan reunites with his sister, Sheba muses about how it feels kinda weird for her to be going home now, she wasn’t really expecting to find anything about her true origins but… still…

This has all been WAY too easy and the Wise One is feeling extra pissy, so the Doom Dragon has five heads (gotta make up for no Fusion Dragon!): Puelle and Karst’s and Agatio’s parents.

I guess they save the world.

Alex mumbles something about hey couldn’t we like use this nifty jewel to warp back to Vale and climb Mount Aleph real fast and get some of this cool infinite power and eternal life and —everyone whacks him.

My bitter disappointment in Golden Sun Dark Dawn

Still disappointed in that.

Ranted enough about this on Twitter. This actually pertains more on the ground of how people force their opinions on others about the characters being gay. Not the friendly interpretation kind.

Hmm… Which is a safer landmine to set off? Gonna go with my bitter disappointment with Golden Sun Dark Dawn. The first time I bitch’d about it I really didn’t go into details about why I was disappointed in it. 

First off a little background I am a big gawddamn fan of Golden Sun. I love the series when Golden Sun: The Broken Seal was first released back in November 11, 2001 and then its sequel Golden Sun: The Lost Age released on April 14, 2003. Then hello 7 year wait for Golden Sun: Dark Dawn with its release date on November 29, 2010. Honestly, finding news on the development on this game was rather sparse so I was legit excited when the game was finally released. Holy shit, I adored the story/plot of both The Broken Seal and The Lost Age I had high hopes that Dark Dawn would be the same.

Even more background. Dark Dawn take place a good 30 years after the main events of the first two games. No biggie there the cast is grown up with some being married and with kids. Cute little things too. Anyway, to get to the point before this get extremely pointless. I get to playing and just after the first maybe ten or so minutes depending on how long one decides to grind before moving on with the plot. You get a vast majority of the game’s plot.

WHY THE HELL DID IT HAVE TO BE ABOUT GETTING A BLOODY ROC FEATHER FROM A MOUNTAIN ROC THAT IS SEEN AS A DIVINE BEAST BY THE KINGDOM OF MORGAL!? HOLY SHIT.

What an even better question is how the hell did Ivan get the feather in the first place without pissing the people of Morgal off like??? Dude, the Kingdom is made up of beastman (hybrid humanoid animals) how the ever loving fuck? 

Anyways, that is a vast majority of the game’s story until after you kill the Mountain Roc to get its freakin’ feather to fix the glider Tyrell (Garet’s son breaks at the beginning of the game). Let’s completely ignore how you’re basically introduced to the game’s villains just a little bit after saving Tyrell’s butt after he crashed the damn thing in forest surrounding the cabin Isaac and Garet use as a base to keep track of Psynergy Portals or what not. 

Chalis and Blados (I forget where Arcanus is during a majority of the game) basically causing shit every time you run into them. Like damn, them being the villains basically come secondary in the story up until after you kill the Mountain Roc. Saving the world does not matter at all in this game:

Killing a divine creature for its feather is clearly more important than saving the world from being destroyed by either Light or Darkness.

Clearly someone on the staff is a fan of Kingdom Hearts.
