Receive And Surrender
On Monday morning, I was praying for motivation to go to work. We all know it is the hardest day one can have after a fun weekend. In a perfect world, we could just go to sleep again and never mind the responsibilities but we know we can’t. Because adult life is a lifetime duty. There’s no turning back.
Shortly after a simple prayer of, “God, please give me a reason to go to work motivated on a Monday. ” God impressed ideas in my heart of what could be in the next five or ten years.
Ideas for expansion, big leaps, big teams.
What if someday we will grow and we are able to gather our team every month in a very cool office? And our we will be an award-winning team where people and businesses from all over the globe will flock into our team.
Ideas of excellence in education.
What if God, out of His favor, grants me a chance to pursue my education and this gives us more opportunities to expand?
Dreams of conquering lands, ministering to people.
What if we revolutionize the market place by sharing the gospel through our work and evangelize the people who are working for us and with us?
What if we can help more Filipinos have a better life, provide for their children’s education, help them provide in return for their families - never having to wear themselves out for money somewhere?
I can only imagine what it would be like for these audacious dreams to come to life. What if God takes me seriously in these Could-Bes and really made it happen? Oh wow, what a wonderful life.
I was stirred up in my heart. I got excited to be faithful in what I’m doing today because maybe God is telling me, “you’re going to this place someday.” I got fired up to do my best today because I know God is up to something anytime soon.
Then, a song came up.

Then, there was silence.
The song kept on coming. I was washing the dishes then. I suddenly found myself humming the bridge part.
How can I forget You? How can I forget the love that set me free?
Jesus, I surrender Open up my heart to all Your plans for me
He has spoken in my heart. Now, I got tears falling from my eyes.
God took me there - to that place of ideas and big dreams.
And then, he brought me back to reality, telling me what to do in the present. That is to surrender.
There will be days where you will desire for big things to happen in your life but reality will slap you in the face and say, this little step is the only thing you can do now. Or, this is how far your money can take you for now... And that desire - suddenly gone and buried.
Yet, there will be days where God will birth in your heart fearless dreams. He will author ideas in your mind that his own hands have written. Ideas that give you life and energy. And whenever you think of them, you just can’t help but internally scream! The truth of the matter is that dreams are the language of the Spirit. They are from Him.
With too much excitement from these ideas, it is tempting to start now and strive to reach them with the strength we have. Reality says that you have to start planning, reach goals so you can reach your dreams. While that is correct, the truth still stands. And the truth is striving for these dreams without Him will lead to nothing. As the word says, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.” Psalm 16:2. And, as John 15 clearly states, we cannot bear fruit if we do not abide or remain in His love.
God made me aware that what I need to do today is to focus on being faithful in what I can do at the present while surrendering to Him my future which I have no control over.
Receive the dream but also accept the fact that your own strength will fail at some point. All things are possible with God, and God will still be sovereign over it and who knows what He will do next?
If God is birthing in your heart ideas that inspire you, ideas that you know only He can do, receive the dream and make room for His will. Receive it, and surrender all of it. Keep it, envision it. Write it down. Have faith. Run with it. Hold on to it. Pray for it. Trust Him for the perfect time. Wait on Him. Surrender it to Him and it shall come to life.
I go back to the words someone spoke over my life while staring at magnificent works of art, “Jae, God can do this in your life, too.”
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
My friend, let’s keep our dreams alive.

Bakit kaya once a year nag-aalign ang lahat para sa isang #PangmalakasangSelfie? Haha. Saya mag contour, nagparamdam ng very light yung cheekbones kong natakpan ng taba. Haha. Minsan weird lang na may guhit sa pisngi, still trying to get used to it. 😂 Aaaand I fell in love with #MaryKay's semi-matte lipstick in Mauve -- surprising na umayon sa skin tone ko, usually kasi kapag nude + light shade mukha akong anemic 😂 pero galing nito haha. Papa, lagi kong pinagpapasalamat ang buhay mo at naging Papa kita. Salamat sa pagturo mo saakin ng mga bagay na alam ko ngayon. Salamat dahil naappreciate ko ang buhay dahil sa mga pananaw na pinakita mo mula pagkabata ko. Salamat dahil nakilala ko si Jesus Christ dahil sa'yo. In a fallen world like this, all of us are people who have both sinned and been sinned against. Some of this will have left us with deep wounds that seem unfathomable even to us, let alone others. But Jesus knows us fully and understands us entirely. He loves us more than we love ourselves. He is even more committed to our ultimate joy than we are. In our pain and confusion, in our weakness and mess, we come to him assured that he alone is trustworthy. He has the power and capacity to help us, and the tenderness and care to want to. We can trust him with our deepest pains and bruises. There is none more fearsome, but none gentler.
