7. Nero, Devil May Cry. The contrast between him at the end of DMC4 and the chronological beginning of DMC5 makes my heart hurt by how good it is. Although that may just be cholesterol. Kyrie deserved so much more than to be an offscreen voice but at least so little screen time meant that she was safe from character assassination. Nico is also Incredible in all the best ways.

Mine was an egg that hatched alone in the sands of the desert. He grew as a feral baby dragon until a group of traveling sand sailors adopted him as a pet. Soon he learned to walk and talk and they realized "oh shit this lizard is a child" and raised him as one of their own. The DM decided that the queen of the desert, a full on dragon, had her eggs stolen and he hadn't had any idea he wasn't meant to hatch alone and fend for himself so I was blown away by that revelation. I love how dms are able to take how your character believed stuff was and show a cool twist.
