Maybe Death Does Know a Thing or Two... And Dean

Also @wordstrings thank you for this prompt idea! I was going to tage you in the last one and then I was stupid.

Dean’s a whore. Cas provides. And is also an asshole. Sam hates them both.

“So, Dean? What’s it going to be?” Cas asked, silky smooth next to Dean’s ear.

“I-I...” Dean tried, but nothing came out. He was still stiff as a board, eyes trained on the door. It looked so appealing, but the burning on his back from where the fingers were laid kept him from moving towards it.

After a long thirty seconds that felt more like eons to Dean, he felt maybe actions were easier than words right now. He allowed his arms to relax, and he moved them away from his sides. Ever so slightly, and only a couple of inches. He could feel his hands shaking.

“Is that your answer?” Cas asked, teasingly. His voice ran deeper than normal, causing Dean to have to fight the urge to scrunch his neck up to his ears.

He gave a weak nod, eyes still trained on the door. His arms reeled back into place, glued to his sides, as soon as Cas’s whirred to life. They gently scratched at the hollows of his ribs, hitting every pocket of nerves they could in the soft flesh between bone.

Dean was already laughing. The vulnerability he became subject to in their previous conversation heightened his senses. He leaned back into Cas, trying to use him for stability. Cas stepped back, gently helping Dean to the floor, never stopping the onslaught to his sensitive sides.

Once Dean was laying flat on his back, Cas stopped in order to swivel himself around, landing on Dean’s lap. The door was no longer an option he thought, as he stared up into the angels eyes. They held the look of mischief, and sadism. Two looks Dean had never seen cross the other man's features before now. Both that would have terrified him in any other situation. But here, now, all he felt was a nervous excitement.

Cas placed his hands on Dean’s sides again, just holding them there. He felt the stomach under him tense and suck in, while the hunter squirmed lightly under his hold. He didn’t move, though - not yet. He wanted Dean to stew before he attacked.

Dean’s eyes went wide as he felt nimble fingers reach for his sides, already squirming. When the fingers didn’t move though, he felt himself involuntarily sucking in his stomach, a feeble attempt at averting the soon-coming onslaught. When the fingers still did not move, he screwed his eyes shut. The tension began to build to an almost intolerable level.

That’s all Cas needed to finally dig in. His fingers squeezed the sensitive flanks twice, before deliberately wiggling into the soft flesh. He revelled in the gasp and the loud, bright laughter it brought out of his hunter. He felt frantic hands grappling at his forearms. His angelic strength kept them from having much effect, though he could tell there was no real strength behind them. More instinct than anything else.

Dean’s eyes flew wide at the first pinch, his arms immediately squeezed to his sides at the second. His hands flew to grab at Cas’s hands, more to ground himself rather than push him away. Once Cas started kneading, he screamed from the built up anticipation and release. He writhed and bucked under the grinning angel, his laughter taking on different pitches and qualities as Cas migrated from spot to spot - these reactions were duly noted in the back of his mind.

“Cas! Cahahahas! Wahahait!” Dean screeched, the first words he’d spoken since wanting to run for the door.

He was in the middle of an admittedly cruel assault of his underarms, though Cas noted Dean still wasn’t putting up much of a fight - certainly not what the hunter was capable of (in fact, he was almost sure Dean had loosened his arms so he could get to the protected skin)- when he realised how loud the hunter had started to become. He uncurled his fingers from where they were digging into the soft flesh and trailed them down his sides, feather-light, to rest at his waistband. Dean’s laughter had tapered off into almost-giggly breathing while he tried to catch his breath.

“Dean, if you continue screaming like that, Sam is bound to hear you.” Cas smirked down, meeting the hunter’s gaze.

Dean bristled and glowered up at the smug angel.

“I was not screaming,” He huffed, an insult sitting on the tip of his tongue. It never made its way out though, as Cas’s fingers decided that was the best time to dip into his waistband. He clamped his arms down and frantically batted at the intruding digits.

“Play nice, or I’ll give you a reason to scream,” He tutted, “I built you up from nothing, I know exactly how to tear you back down.”

A jolt of anxiety laced excitement ran down Dean’s spine and he sucked in a sharp breath with a hiss as he curled his toes.

“I’ve been to hell and back. I can handle you,” He challenged, hiding his nerves behind an easy smirk.

“You are very confident for a man in your current position-” Castiel dipped down to right beside Dean’s ear, fingers wiggling to life, gently playing with the skin right above his waistband. “Maybe we should find out how long that confidence will last.”

Dean’s breath hitched, and shut his eyes. Before his brain could comprehend what his mouth was saying, he blurted, “Bring it.”

“Of course. But remember; keep it down. You scream, and I stop. You don’t want that, do you?”

Dean swallowed and didn’t reply, words failing him as he surveyed the predatory and calculating look on the other man. But, actions did speak louder than words, didn’t they?

He stuck out his tongue.

Castiel, the winged sadistic bastard, drilled right into his hips.

His thumbs massaged, rubbed, vibrated along the hypersensitive ridges of bone while his fingers fluttered and scritched at his sides. Dean’s mouth fell open in what was going to be a scream until Cas leaned down and licked a stripe up his neck. The unprecedented and ticklish sensation ended up tangling his tortured scream with a choked snort and he just ended up coughing.

He was a little more prepared to fight against the urge to just screech until his vocal chords tapped out, but it didn’t stop choked laughter from spilling out between his lips. As hard as he tried to keep himself under control, there was only so much he could stop from bubbling to the surface. With his smile wide, he could only pull his lips back in a scowl for a few seconds. But it was long enough for Cas to notice the strangled surprise flash across his features.

“You look surprised, Dean. Did you think I was bluffing?” He teased, skating his hand over to spider at the center of his abdomen - the soft spot just under his ribs that made him toss his head back and tumble into full-belly laughter that he was having a hard time stifling.

“You’re being very inconsiderate to Sam. All this laughing is surely going to disturb him, I thought I told you to keep quiet.”

“Screhehehew off!” Dean rebutted and a few particularly bright giggles slipped out. Cas was almost sad he was making Dean hold them and their brethren in.

Oh well - another time, then.

And, yeah, he had a feeling there was going to be a next time - if the reactions, no matter how held back and muted, were anything to go by. Dean was just covering his face with his hands, attempting to stuff his fist in his mouth while his eyes were pricked with tears of mirth.

He looked beautiful, not particularly more so than usual, just...different. Lighter. It was the kind of beauty that left you feeling like some of it rubbed off on you. Castiel decided he liked Dean like this more than he thought he did. The hunter never failed to surprise him.

He was brought out of his thoughts when he started hearing wheezing. He lightened his fingers, drawing light circles around his sides, waiting for Dean’s laughter to taper off. Once his held-back cackles died out into heavy breaths mixed with light happy giggles, he allowed his sadist mask to fall for a moment.

“Are you doing okay? Do you need me to stop?” He asked.

Dean shook his head, “I juhuhust need to cahatch my breath,” he scrubbed�� a hand down his face, wiping the small line of sweat that accumulated above his brow.

The angel nodded, before pressing a hand to Dean’s chest, while he kept the other at his side, still tracing teasing circles. A wave of grace entered his lungs, filling them up with air and removing the residing ache. “Better?”

Dean’s eyes widened slightly. He forgot about angel mojo. But as he took a few breaths, he nodded, feeling rejuvenated.

“Good, because I’m not finished with you yet.” Cas’s sadistic smirk reappeared.

Deans nervous giggles returned before they jumped back to mirth filled laughter. There was skittering along his inner thighs, but he could feel Cas’s one hand on his chest and the other still teasing at his side.

“C-Cahahahas, what eheheheis thahahat?” He tried kicking his legs out, but the sensation never relented.

“Giving you your strength back made me realize, I have been neglecting to use the best way to torture you. My grace.” Cas said matter of factly.

“Th-that ihihis so unfahahahair Ah- Cas, nohoho!” Dean clapped a hand over his mouth trying to stifle his laughter, as he felt the invisible force rise up, forcing its way into every groove of his hips.

He felt it scrape along the edges of bone, and vibrate into the dips where his abdomen met leg. He could almost feel it under his skin and even in his bones. In a feeble attempt to muffle the screaming cackles that were being forced from his throat, he grabbed whatever was closest to him- which just so happened to be Castiel’s trench coat covered arm, still lazily resting on his chest- and stuffed it into his mouth. He bit down, thankfully on just fabric, and screamed into his angels forearm.

Dean lasted a total of 37 seconds before succumbing to silent laughter. Cas continued the onslaught on his hips for a few more, before finally moving his grace up his sides, and rolled off the hunter. He curled around himself, giggling like a mad man.

As the grace slowly subsided from Deans waist, so did his laughter, until the only sound filling the room was his panting. Once his breathing calmed, Cas stood up, offering a hand to help the other onto wobbly legs and walking him to the library couch.

Once close enough to the cushions, he let his body tumble, laying on his back, eyes closed. He threw an arm over his head, a small smile still noticeable. Cas took a moment to take in the sight. He was in awe. He didn’t recognise the Dean Winchester splayed out in front of him. The angry, pissed off, World on his shoulders hunter had been replaced with a soft, happy, free human being. They still had another apocalypse to derail, that they knew nothing about yet. But it would still be there tomorrow.

Cas grabbed the lore book he was reading before Dean had walked in, and lifted the tired man’s head, sneaking himself underneath. They stayed like that the rest of the day, Cas’s hands tethered in his hunters hair while Dean took a well deserved break from the fight.

Four years and three apocalypses later, when Chuck became the most recent bad guy in a long list of bad guys, and brought up Death’s previous pastimes, Dean and Cas shared a look. A knowing look. A shared inside joke between the two of them. Perhaps Chuck brought it up to let them know he knew. Or maybe he didn’t know, and was just bantering about Billie.

Either way, if it weren’t for Death, Dean and Cas would have never gotten together. Maybe he really did know what the hell he was talking about all those years ago.

And as for Sam, well. Dean never really was as quiet as he thought. Sam just learned when to leave the bunker before being subject to listening to them again.

so at NCT High if you don't know Na Jaemin who the hell are you? like everyone knows this kid from lunch ladies to the freaking janitors

its not a surprise since the dude is literally dead drop gorgeous and has a shit ton of social skills. like the boy deadass can swindle his way out of detention (which he did) with just a wink

typical fboi but instead of it being a huge turn-off, girls still throw themselves on him even when he WARNS them beforehand that he isn't looking for a serious thing

still, they get attached and heartbroken when he tells them “this isn’t working out”

his friends (aka art-hoe!renjun and student-athlete!jeno) always rolls their eyes when jaemin rolls up into the lunchroom with his arms wrapped around a new girl’s shoulder

“bet she’s not going to last two weeks”- renjun slapping down a 10$

“knowing him, this isn’t going to last more than a week”- jeno said but still sliding over a 10$ bill

AND SUPRISE it doesn’t

both renjun and jeno don’t approve of his philandering, but they stick w jaemin cause he’s still their best bud cause bros before hoes ya know what i mean?

this is especially true with jeno cause they’ve been bffl since they were like five but that doesn’t mean that jaemin is anything like jeno.

jeno had a minor (major) barbie obsession which was probably induced by you

don’t tell anyone but jeno still binge-watches barbie movies;;;his favorite really be the princess charm school one

like i said nomin is a package deal so expect jaemin to be taging along to yours and jeno’s weekly playdate

imagine you being the princess while jaemin pretended to be the prince and jeno was the dragon,,,yeah man it was so lit

this isn’t a jeno fic btw keep in mind its still jaemin

all of that stuff before was when the three of you were like kids

once highschool came around all three of you found ur niches: jeno was the student-athlete, jaemin was well that guy that was wanted by all the girls

and you were just a regular mundane student ya know,,,you weren’t extremely talented nor smart you just floated around

u still hung around jeno tho but your friendship was really lowkey

like both of y'all would wait until the other one was completely alone or do some ridiculous actions to deliver the simplest messages

jeno would look both ways before slipping you a note in class that said “can your mom drive me home today?” and you would make sure no one was looking before nodding secretly

or the two of you would hide behind bushes to say that y'all parents wanted to have dinner together tonight

tbh yall could just text each other but where’s the fUN in that?

jaemin, on the other hand, was someone you haven’t a solid conversation with since sophomore year bc of an incident

basically, you had helped one of your friends into a relationship with jaemin that lasted for about two months,,, which was considerably a long time considering that it was jaemin.the two of them were a fat power couple

ur friend, let’s call her ella, was probably one of the more popular girls at school. she was well-known for being the prettiest, kindest girl that everyone LOVES

anyways, things didn’t end so well bc he stood her up at hoco even though he was gonna be crowned homecoming king and her queen.

no one knows why jaemin just ditched but he did.

didn’t stick well with your friend tho cause she stopped talking to you as well not really giving you an explanation

and this led to everyone in your friend group to kinda put all the blame onto you

this is also when jaemin picked up his heartbreaker reputation and began living up to that title

at first ur were hella mad and sad, but you got over it cause being outcasted and kicked out of that friend group led you to befriend the local stoner boi!haechan

honestly, you got over it but after ignoring and avoiding jaemin for a whole year it just stuck.

here comes SENIOR YEARS BITS

u were so done w school at this point, you had suffered and labored through junior year,,, SAT and ACT were the biggest bitches you ever faced in your lifetime and this is coming from someone who was friends with the resident shithead lee haechan

so it’s lunchtime and you’re listening to haechan’s wild story about some shenanigan that he and his weed dealer/ older college friend mark had gotten up to the past weekend

“so like we were just hitting a blunt this weekend in mark’s car and this cop pulls up next to us.mark rolls down the window and all of the smoke just hits the cops in the face”

“you're a fucking idiot, haechan”

“listen bitch, i’m not done”

“so the cop is doing the regular illegal drugs bullshit and asked mark a question. understand at this point that mark is high as fuck so i kid you not the crackhead says quack. nothing else just quack. honestly, i still don’t know how we got out of that but we did and lee haechan is still in school.”

you want to slap your friend with a big smh at this point

but it so ridiculous and so haechan that you can’t say anything else

and you don’t have too! bc someone taps ur shoulder pulling you out of your convo and boom it’s ella

“hey, y/n” she starts out sweetly and you could feel haechan’s bitch face directed towards the girl, who seemed to just ignore the boy

“what’s up, ella?” you were hella fucking slightly irritated and highkey suspicious bc like this was the first time that she talked to you in like two years

“this out of the blue, but you know how prom is coming up soon? we need extra hands on the planning community,” ella explained with a bright smile “we need another person to work on making the centerpieces for each table, but we only have one person on that”

“okay, so what does this have to do with her?” haechan’s bitchy tone soaked in each word

ella’s smile faltered slightly at his words, but it was so subtle that only people with keen eyes could notice

“i hope that i’m not imposing anything on to you.” ella trying to reassure “but Mr. Moon told me that you still need some community service hours for our graduation requirement so I just assumed that this would be a good opportunity for you.”

oh shit

you completely forgot about that and you still needed like another 10 hours to complete

“ummmm”

“i wouldn’t ask you this but my workload is completely swamped” ella added “it would be a big help if you can help. haechan, you can help too!”

haechan let out a loud gag that seemed to baffle her

“oh hell no, i already got my community service hours done like freshmen year.”

you gave haechan the most incredulous face you could make cause like this druggie who gets high every other week and vapes in the bathroom really finished his community service hours before you????how??

“don’t look at me like that.” haechan kicked you underneath the table “it was before i learned how to roll a blunt”

“drugs aren’t good for you, haechan,” ella chided

haechan made a mocking face,,you know the one he does like that one,,”not all of us can be little miss goodie-two-shoes like you”

oKAy time to do some damage control before your shithead friend gets himself into more shit

“i’ll do it. just text me the details.”

“thank you so much y/n!” ella said before bouncing off

“i hate her” haechan stated

“you hate everyone”

CUE aFTerschool when you follow ella’s text to go to the art building where everyone was gathered

the minute you walked in you realized that you should have just said no and done some other community service activity cause jaemin was present standing in the corner and other people who you once called your close friends that turned out to be fat snakes

now you gotta deal with them again (aww shit here we go again)

ella is motioning you to come into the classroom which you obliged cause you figured that you possibly could survive w ur rbf on as you made your way to the other unoccupied corner

there was some whispering in the background but you ignored it cUASE like hyuk always says: “you just gotta get high and block out all the haters”

well, he was right about the second half, not so much the first.

“alright everyone! thank you so much for volunteering to help set up for our senior prom! we only have about three weeks so we have to get all of the decorations done as soon as possible!” ella said in a chirpy tone

a lot of people looked motived by the girl’s bubby short speech on how everyone needs to put in 100% of their effort. you zoned that out as you caught the sleeping figure at the teacher's desk

“goddamn you mr.moon forcing me to be here” you grumbled in your head almost missing your assigned duty,

“y/n!” your head snapped in the direction that your name was called

you saw ella standing with jaemin and the sirens go off in your head

FUCK THIS

you let out a loud sigh before trotting over to the two

ella gave you a piece of paper that had the centerpieces’ picture on them along with a long list of decorations “all you guys have to do is make about 300. all the directions are on the sheet and the supplies are in the other room. it’s really simple, just have it done by next friday.”

you nearly popped a blood vessel

300 by next friday? today was wednesday so that meant you only had ten days to finish all 300 of them

so you and jaemin are walking to the classroom next door to get the supplies y’all needed,,, in your head, you were just cursing everything in existence for putting you into this position especially mr. moon

“so how did she rope you into this?” you heard jaemin say from beside you as you both carried boxes out to the parking lot.

you two came to the good conclusion to split the load so that he would do half and you would do half

it was so strange and foreign talking to him since it’s been about two whole years.

he had a nice voice tho ngl maybe that’s why he got out of that detention that one time

“she somehow found out that i still needed to complete my community service hours before graduation” you murmured, praying that haechan remembered you telling him to wait for you after school

he probably ditched you to get high or hang out with one girl he liked

all jaemin said was “oh” and the rest of the walk to the school’s parking lot was quiet

the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife and the knife would break

“hey can i ask you a question?” jaemin asked when the two of you were about to go your separate ways

you could see mark’s old beat-down car meaning that haechan, in fact, did ditch you but had the decency to call up mark to pick you up

“yeah, go ahead”

“how come you still talk to jeno, but not me?”

i shit you not this was the quietest and deepest voice that you ever heard jaemin project

you didn’t know how to reply so you looked down at the large box in your hand, mumbling some incoherent excuse

“can you repeat that?”

“ i said, we don’t really have any other reasons to be friend's unlike me and jeno”

“is that all?” jaemin asked, probably catching onto your bullshit

you were probably delusional but you could’ve sworn you heard some sadness in the tone he used

you nodded quickly trying to get to mark’s car hoping to avoid further conversation

but boy was jaemin stubborn

“that wasn’t a good explanation,y/n! ” jaemin called out after you.

this time he sounded more lighthearted than before

you turn around to face jaemin who had a fatass smile on his face

damn was he good looking smiling like that

“give me a better reason tomorrow or else i’m taking you on a date!” his dazzling smile nearly blinding you as he made his way to his own car

inside your head little y/n is going whattheactualfuck?

“what’s with that shook face?” mark ask as you climbed into the passenger seat

“what the fuck?” you say

“huh?”

you look at mark “what the ACTUAL fuck?”

poor mark is like wtf is wrong with her,,,did haechan get her on some type of crack?

that night while you were making the little centerpieces you were still going over what jaemin said

you looked at the last centerpiece you finish making

was he flirting with me? or was he serious?

he sounded sad when i said that tho?

at the same, this was jaemin, a boy who is well-known for having flings left and right.

he’s probably just flirting

until next day! jaemin pops up next to you as while you get your shit from your locker for your first class

“did you come up with a good explanation yet?

his sudden appearance startled you causing you to subconsciously let out a yelp

“cute” he said, and you forced down the blush that was about to show

“i thought i told you already?” causing jaemin to shake his head like a cute little puppy

“i don’t accept it.i want a better one,” he said sounding like a spoiled toddler

you gave him the “wtf do you mean look” and he was about to reply until you saw haechan walking through the school doors with a pair of sunglasses on which can only mean one thing

that little shit head came to school high again

you pushed passed jaemin and stormed towards haechan pulling him to some vacant hallway to lecture him

leaving jaemin standing there staring at your backs as the two of you left

jaemin’s smile dropping significantly as he nearly glared over at the two of you leaving, specifically at the back of haechan’s head

“dude, why do you look like you’re going to murder someone?” jeno asked as jaemin sat next to him at their lab station

you weren’t in this chemistry class but haechan was,,,and it was his naptime

“how is y/n friends with him?” jaemin stared directly at a sleeping haechan

jeno follows his line of sight, letting out a sigh once he notices it was haehcan

“she never really told me, but i assume it was because she stopped being friends with ella and that group” jeno said honestly. he raised an eyebrow in question at his bffl “why do you need to know”

jaemin didn’t answer him, continuing to glaring at the sleeping male

jeno rolled his eyes at his friend's antics

but in a serious tone, he warns to his friend, “don’t pull your games with y/n.”

except jaemin’s head wasn’t registering this warning,,he was solely focused on how lee fucking haechan the biggest stoner of NCT High managed to take a girl’s attention from him, na jaemin....it was simply ridiculous

maybe he really was an attention seeker bc he made a beeline for your table during lunch instead of his regular one once he saw just how loud you were laughing at haechan’s joke

“what’s so funny?” jaemin asked sliding into the seat next to you

now both of you and our boy hyuk is like wtf

immediately you’re on defense, “what are you doing here?”

“you never gave me a good explanation!” jaemin pouted, giving you fat puppy eyes

those aLMost worked

“uhhhhhh” you try to find a good excuse but jaemin quickly cuts you off

“it’s okay if you don’t have a good explanation,” jaemin reaches over and steals a fry from haechan’s tray eliciting a hissing sound from the boy “you just have to go on a date with me”

then he winks

and he's gone

“what in the holy fuck just happened?”

the amount of time that y/n has said wtf is unbelievable

haechan’s sunglasses slip down the bridge of nose and you could see his red eyes giving you a look of disappointment, “and you say i have issues”

“stfu before i slit your throat”

the rest of the day wasn’t any easier on you tbh. you learned that jaemin was really really stubborn and very very clingy

the boy deadass scanned the whole hallway to find your face so he could tag along with you to your next class even though you could have sworn that his class was one the other side of the school

he kept on bombarding you with questions on what you wanted to get after school and if you like roller skating

by some means, you were able to hide in the library for the rest of the study hall period which meant that you could probably avoid jaemin until school ended

you spotted a familiar boy huddled in the corner reading a book that made you squint your eyes.

marching over to jeno, your eyes just say “explain”

jeno looked at you with like those wide eyes he does when he’s shookth bc the two of you never interacting in school so puBlicly

“what the hell is na jaemin trying to pull?” you whispered-yelled plopping down in the wooden seat next to the athlete

jeno is all like????wydm

and you explain your whole situation to him and he just lets out the biggest sigh

“he doesn’t like being left on read”

“what do you mean?”

“i mean, that’s what you basically did to him sophomore year. he was kinda depresso about how you just stopped talking to him out of nowhere. by the way, why did you do that?”

tbh you really didn’t know at first you were mad at him

was it bc his actions caused all your friends to blame you for his inability to commit to a relationship,,, but it’s been two years since that incident

you got over it, so why were you still avoiding jaemin?

“i dunno after him and ella broke up, i didn’t have a reason to talk to him.”

jeno looked at you like “really? is that your answer?”

you remembered still joking around lightheartedly w jaemin until he started dating ella

he actually spent a lot of time and effort even ditching jeno sometimes for her which was okay cause jeno would chill w renjun or even you (mostly bc he could watch barbie movies w no shame)

everything was alright until homecoming came around and jaemin flaked on ella leading them to breakup the next day

and ella to stop talking to you which made everyone mad you or think that you were the one that caused the breakup

you were the one that hooked the two of them up too! so it was really unfair!

it's like 2 am and you don’t know what came over to text jeno but you did

you felt instant regret after sending that text bc like it probably made it seem like you were interested in jaemin,,,, which you were totally not!

seconds later jeno slaps you with the ”ask him yourself”

so that’s how you spent the entire night finishing all of your centerpieces that you were assigned to make cuz of your frustration

wow we love a productive y/n

alrighty this is where shit goes down

now that you were done with all of your centerpieces you took them to the art room the next day before school where ella was there doing her stoof

she looked up with a giant smile when you came in with a giant box

“you finished all of it?”

“nah just 150. jaemins finishing the other half” you set the box down

“oh okie,” ella nodded returning to whatever she was doing beforehand

since it was just the two of you in the classroom and you’ve been dying to know the answer since sophomore year

so fuck it

“hey ella, can i ask you a question?”

the said girl looked up with that same friendly smile that she gave everyone “of course!”

“why didn’t jaemin show up to hoco sophomore year?” you blurted out

in an instant, ella’s smile dropped and there was a sudden cold look in her eyes

“you already know the answer to that, y/n, you don’t need me to answer you. now if you excuse me, i have things i have to do” ella said in a very unlike-ella-way

her answer made you even more confused than ever bc how were you supposed to know the answer to THAT

confused!y/n is even more confused

however, all your questions were about to be answered, not really tho

you’re on your way to the third period with the same burning question in your head: why the hell did jaemin not show up to sophomore year hoco??? someone help?

tbh you didn’t even notice someone yanking you into the janitor’s closet until you were surrounded in darkness and someone's hands were clasp over your mouth

“it’s me, jaemin” his soft whisper sent tings down your spine

he let go of your mouth to switch on the light

“are you fucking insane?”

“yes, but it’s only cause i’m madly in love with you”

you rolled your eyes “cut the bullshit, jaemin, what do you want?”

“our date. you never gave me a solid explanation, so i want a date”

you were about to reject him but then an idea formed in your head

and with that one-word jaemin’s eyes glowed 10x brighter with his smile almost blinding you

cheesy i know.

“let’s go now!”

the boy was really about to skip class just to go on this stupid date w you

is he that bored? did he really run out of girls to date?

but then again you really don’t want to go to math bc you’re pretty sure there's a test today that you haven’t studied for yet

so that’s how you found yourself with jaemin at the local ice cream parlor

jaemin INSISTED that y'all share a sundae, which he also fought you to pay for

there a silence that falls upon you for a little bit

jaemin breaks it though like he breaks heart (okay minnie that’s kinda mean)

“ella told me that you finished your half of the centerpieces in two days. that’s pretty impressive,” he comments

you nodded staring at the ice cream drowned in chocolate syrup

“to be honest, i haven’t gotten much done yet,” he admitted, continuing to ramble on “it’ll get done. i might even pay renjun to do it, but i’m pretty sure he’s too preoccupied with this girl that he’s been pining over for a while”

“speaking of which, are you seeing anyone right now?” jaemin asks out of nowhere.

“lol i could be doing other things with my time.”

jaemin observes your face closely taking in the faint blush on your cheeks from his direct gaze, “so what about that haechan dude?”

“what about him?”

“are the two of you a thing?”

you nearly gagged

“there no way in hell i’d ever get with haechan. besides, he’s having some of his own girl problems right now. he was being a little bitch about it too”

“good” jaemin says really contently.

“why didn’t you go to hoco sophomore year?” you finally asked

taken back slightly, jaemin softly smiles down at the half-eaten sundae

instead of answering you, he asked another question “why did you stop talking to me?”

you gulp, but eventually, you had to tell him the truth even though it was kinda dumb and immature

“because ella was mad at me after the two of you broke up.”

he shifted his gaze up to your own eyes

“do you know why she was mad at you?”

you shook your head

jaemin smiled again

this time it kinda looked sad :(

“because she knew that i was in love with you”

When you heard Jeff Skinner was coming to Buffalo, you freaked out. Originally from Raleigh, you remember when Jeff was drafted and watching him play for the Canes. He was your favorite player, and when you moved to Buffalo for a position as a Sabres Social Media Coordinator, they knew he would always be your favorite. And since you spent most of your time around the players, taking pictures and videos of them and along interviewing them and playing little games, you had became good friends with some of them and they could not help but to text you when they heard the news.

The texts from the guys kept up until the first day of camp when they all started pitching in in person. You watched from a distance, taking videos and pictures for Snapchat and Instagram, as the guys practiced and got to know their new teammates. Occasionally you swore you saw Jack, Sam, Nathan, Zach, Rasmus, Zemgus, Johan, and Evan point in your direction. One of them always seemed to make sure Jeff was facing towards you.

“Y/N!” You turned to see Grace, the YouTube and live stream guru of the Your duo, came running up to you. “I need you to come with me. I got the green light to record a Q&A with the players. They want it to be the new ones so fans have an opportunity to get to know them better. You’ll be interviewing them.”

You almost dropped your phone. “You mean like Casey Mittelstadt, Rasmus Dahlin, Conor Sheary, Tage Thompson, Vladimir Sobotka, Matt Hunwick, and Carter Hutton? No problem.”

Grace giggled. “You forgot one. Jeff Skinner is a big one. Let’s go Sobotka is up first.”

Jeff was the last one to be interviewed and by this time you had no idea what to expect. Grace changed it up each time, both questions and how the interview had to be done. Different players came in and out to watch the interviews. The largest crowd yet had been Dahlin’s where you asked him questions with a microphone that changed your voices each time. Hutton’s was fun as you asked questions while trying to save a balloon from touching the ground.

Before Jeff even came in, your self appointed wingmen entered the room. “What are you guys doing here?” You hissed.

“We’re here to watch you interview Jeff,” Johan answered.

“Yeah, guys have been in and out all day watching,” Evan added.

“Plus, what kind of wingmen would we be if we didn’t make sure you didn’t fuck up your first conversation with the love of your life,” Risto commented.

Sam punched him in the shoulder. “Shut up. We weren’t supposed to say that.”

You groaned as Grace walked back in. “Don’t you worry. Nothing is going to go wrong. Here’s the marshmallows.”

“What are these for?”

“Part of the interview,” she explained. “You each are starting off with a marshmallow in your mouths. You ask a question and he answers. Then you add one more and the cycle repeats until you run out of questions or someone’s marshmallows come tumbling out.”

You could hear your “wingmen” giggling like little girls behind you. “Now Jeff can see how much she can fit in her mouth without swallowing,” Nathan whispered.

“That’s disgusting,” Zach gagged. “Disgusting.”

The door opened to Jack walking in with Jeff trailing him. “And this is where the fun interviews happen. Jeff, meet Grace and Y/N. They run the Sabres Instagram, Snapchat, and the fun portion of the YouTube channel. You’ll see them around a lot and sometimes one or both of them travels with us.”

Grace introduced herself first. “Hi Jeff, I’m Grace. I do a lot of the production aspects and filming. I’m the one behind the camera normally because Y/N has such a beautiful face that was made for it. Don’t you agree, Jeff?”

“Uh…”

You slapped Grace in the arm. “I’m sorry about her. She loves talking. I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you.”

Jeff smiled, making you want to melt in your spot. “Jeff. It’s nice to meet both of you. So shall we get this underway?”

Jeff took a seat in the chair opposite of yours. You began talking when you saw the red light. “Hello Sabre Nation. It’s Y/N here with another fun Q&A. Today’s player is another one of our new players, Jeff Skinner. Jeff played for the Carolina Hurricanes as left wing for 8 seasons. It’s great to have you here in Buffalo, Jeff.”

“It’s great to be in Buffalo, Y/N,” Jeff grinned.

“Alright, let’s begin,” You pointed to the bowl of marshmallows. “Grab one and put in your mouth, but don’t swallow. I’ll do the same. After each question we’ll add a marshmallow. Ready?”

Jeff nodded and plopped a marshmallow into his mouth. “Favorite food?”

“Sushi.”

“Favorite TV show?”

“Game of Thrones.”

Things started to get complicated around seven marshmallows. “Celebrigee ook ike?”

“Goseph Ord Evit.”

“Bavorite ort esides ockey?”

“Aseall.”

“Avit oosi argis?”

Jeff’s eyes went wide. “Uh, ick armoy.”

All the marshmallows fell out of your mouth as you began laughing. Jeff blushed. “I like them too, don’t worry.”

His cheeks got redder. “Ill oo o out it ee?” He asked.

Your eyes widened and it was your turn to blush. “I et if oo on’t one oo.”

“Yes,” you nodded. Jeff’s mouth dropped, causing all the marshmallows to fall out. “Yes, I will gladly go out with you.”

“I can hear the wedding bells,” Sam sighed happily.

“Mission accomplished, wingmen,” Jack grinned. Grace coughed and glared at him. “And wingwoman.”

Hola, Prominence Part 1

As Promised, the first installment of the main works!

This AU has a slow start in the main story but rest assured you can ask away, spoilers or no! [spoilers are taged!]

So please enjoy! Story under the cut! [sorry mobile]

Victor tapped his foot impatiently, it has been an hour what was taking them so long, the engine they were bringing couldn’t have been that slow. Then the door opened.

“Victor, Victor come with us please.” The foreman asked, well more ordered in a less angry than the normal way. Victor stood from his half sit against the wall and straightened out his nice uniform. Victor followed his foreman, the sounds of yelling rang out through the works, echoing in the lofts and undiluted by the normal clatter of the works, Sunday was always an eerie day in the large building. Victor’s mind floated back to the yells as he neared the culprit, his view was blocked but a distinct voice scwalled in thick languages, almost British, but definitely not at all, oddly pitched, a bit high, but not squeaking.

“Ich hasse dich!” Was repeated over and over, a few “Fix eini!” and “Du kannst mir nichts vormachen.” thrown in for good measure. Victor saw his controller near where the noise emanated, standing with his same tired and worn expression he normally held on odd days at the works. He was never awake on Sundays, but today he looked two steps from the grave.

“Sir, what-” As Victor started to ask what was wrong, Topham turned, and stepped aside, Victor now saw a sight. A smaller masc, with sandy matted hair and old tattered clothes, was under an open crate, hiding under it, yelling and near tears. Victor gulped and took a few steps past his Controller to this unknown masc.

“Du… sprechen… English?” Victor asked, trying to remember the little bit of German he had gotten from the various engines and humans he had fixed and met over his years.

The masc looked at Victor, going quietly.

“Approbiert? Dampflokomotive oder Diesellokomotive? E-Lok?” The masc asked Victor took a complete blank.

“Z-Zug,” Victor replied, hoping that was an answer, a simple engine was all he was.

“Engine?” The masc finally replied in English, Victor took a breath.

“Yes, Engines, at this works, engine repairs,” Victor said, hoping to get through. The masc sat up, tossing aside their hiding crate.

“Works engine….” the masc said, he gestured at himself.

“I am Works Engine, need help?” Victor asked, the masc looked at him, then nodded faintly.

“Intake, running out of, inside.” the masc said, he hit a hand to their chest.

“Water? Food?” Victor leaned down in front of the Masc and offered a hand to help them stand.

“All.” the masc said, with Victor’s help, they stood, shaky on their knees they leaned onto Victor. Even with the masc being small for a masc, they were bigger than Victor, but not by much.

“Come, we shall fix you up, mis amigo,” Victor said, he cursed to himself a little for the Spanish but helped the masc along, the masc looked at him, and while not as sad any more they didn’t look happy at all.

Topham and the Foreman followed Victor and the masc, Victor lead the masc into the break room of the works. Victor put the masc in a chair at a small table, and he went to the fridge.

“Oh, so you are who takes lunches.” The foreman said with thick contempt.

“If someone leaves a lunch over the weekend they deserve it eaten,” Victor stated coldly, he opened a brown bag and pulled out an apple. He tossed it to the masc. Victor went to catch the apple again as he forgot this was deprived engine who probably had no reflexes any ways, but the masc caught it without blinking with toned reflex. Victor was impressed but forged on for more substance.

The masc took a gentle, well as gentle as you could, bite of the apple. The masc squeaked as they tasted the apple. Victor sprinted suddenly to the side of the masc. The masc wiped some dribblings from the apple off his face, he smiled and giggled tasting the sweet apple. Victor relaxed a small bit and patted the masc on the top of their head.

“Been a long time?” Victor asked.

“Lord yes, my dear works engine.” the masc said, the struggle gone as they crunched away at their apple.

“Well, it will never be too long again,” Victor informed, the masc looked up at him and smirked slightly, a warm gaze in their eyes.

“So warm, Mr Works engine. May I catch your name?” The masc asked.

“Victor,” Victor held a hand out to the masc, the masc took his hand.

“The Prominence.” the masc said quickly.

“Fancy name, old engine?” Victor asked as he stepped away from Prominence.

“Old enough, what are you, a gen 5?” Prominence asked Victor stared at him a second before going for a glass of water.

“First, for Crovan's gate at least, you know a works engine before?” Victor filled the glass quickly and swiftly brought it back to Prominence. Handing it to him. Prominence puffed and took a drink.

“Know a works engine, know a works engine, Victor, you obviously don’t know anything about me.” Prominence put the glass on the table and leaned forwards. “Victor I’ll tell you what, find a works engine more experienced than me, I bet on my brass you won’t,” Prominence smirked, Victor leaned closer to Prominence.

“1901,” Victor said, a brag in his voice. Prominence laughed a little.

“1853, youngn’, and still kicking to boot,” Prominence said proudly; Victor almost choked on Prominence’s words.

“So, what brings you here, grand-puff,” Victor asked, sitting at the table.

“Ah, your, or should I say, our control could tell you, scrapling,” Prominence said, they turned to the stout man in the corner of the room with the foreman.

“I purchased him from a scrap monger, his shell will arrive in a few days,” Topham informed quickly, Victor nodded and looked at Prominence, he gave him a quick vertical glance.

“You’ll need clothes, and some tools, also you should adjust to railway policy.” Victor listed quickly, Prominence took a hard gulp of their water.

“I-I I am n-not changing f-for a-anything!” Prominence squalled out, sputtering and choking on their water.

“Whoa there mis amigo just some hair trimming and colour swatching, don't think bad it will be ‘kahy?” Victor slammed out in a native speed.

“What about my hair it's been like this for decades, and my eyes? It's called Alexandria Genesis and my builder suffered from it it's out of respect!” Prominence snapped, their grip tightening on their glass to the point it started to creak.

“Wasn't your builder albino?” Topham interjected, Prominence snapped a new glare at the man.

“Don't you dare talk about what my builder is or isn't.” Prominence hissed with vigour, Topham nodded and took a few steps towards Prominence.

“We aren't saying that you have to change drastically, but it's the law that you have to appear human based on certain parameters, we just don't want you to get in trouble,” Topham told, he put two warm hands on Prominences shoulders.

“This Steam works has rules too, you know.” The foreman snapped, Topham shot the man a glare.

“You don't have to be here Mr Yokaira.” Topham boomed, the foreman puffed and rushed himself out of the room and presumably the works. “Prominence, why don't you get comfy for tonight and tomorrow I'll take you to get some new clothes and we can find you an acceptable look, and for now Victor you can get them something like coveralls.” Topham gave Prominence a soft pat on the head, and walked to Victor, whispering something in the Cubans ear he patted his head and excused himself from the room. Victor was quiet as Prominence finished their glass of water and their apple.

“So, how long were you a works engine before you- ahm.”

Prominence looked at Victor, and smiled.

“Oh wow, let’s see, I worked the line 9 months, sat for 5 months, so 1854 to about 1947 I think, it was after the second great war. I know that for sure.” Prominence said, stretching a little and standing. Victor looked at them blankly.

“T-That would make you over 150 you shouldn’t even be running why are you getting restored and you have survived this long!” Victor shot out, standing quickly.

“Yeah, works engines don’t really retire, unless forced of course.” Prominence stated, they started to mill around the room looking at things.

“I understand that, but I mean normally the only engines who get restored at that old are the ones who are, you know, you have heard of them.” Victor said honestly, Prominence turned to Victor, and smirked.

“I am plenty memorable, you just haven’t connected me yet.” Prominence chuckled, they leaned over a couch and picked up a remote.

“Hey we can talk about new tech later, you can-” Prominence turned on the TV and started to flip through channels. “How do you know how to-”

“I used to live with a family, kinda like a pet, they wanted to rebuild me but they never finished.” Prominence said, they settled on a public access channel and leaned over the couch, they started to engross theirmself in the program.

“That sounds interesting but don’t you want to clean up, or see the shed?” Victor asked.

“In time, in time….” Prominence stayed engrossed in the programming. “Voraw I shall.”

“What?”

“Jiue or voraw, today or tomorrow, it’s a how to learn the language program, it’s kinda like Manx Irish, its cute. Can you speak it?” Prominence said.

“Oh, oh Surdian, no, I don’t think to many people speak it.” Victor said, he walked up and leaned on the couch next to the new engine.

“Faarkey to loey to hawin, sea to lake to river, so cute.”

“You are a mad man.”

“Crawp pørn Rheneas, tree stream Divided Waterfall.”

“That’s what his name means?” Victor said, he snuggled a bit into the couch now engrossed. “That’s amazing I thought it was just nonsense!”

“Hey that is quite the handsome little narrow gauge, oh he even has a friend. Skarloey is nice looking as well.” Prominence purred, Victor glanced at them and back to the TV. “Do we work on them or do they have their own shop?”

“We work on them, but only when it’s really bad.”

“I’ve always wanted to work on narrow gauge regularly.”

“You seem to like a lot of things.”

“I appreciate pretty much everything, old age I figure.”

Victor looked at the engine next to him, and smiled.

“You don’t look it, with the odd coloured hair, and the smooth skin, a lot of engines I know much younger than you look much older.” Victor chuckled, Prominence looked at Victor, and cracked a small smirk.

“It’s just how the corporeal forms, youngn’,” Prominence went back to the program happily listing off Surdic with the screen.

“1901 isn’t that young any more.” Victor said, taking his attention to the screen as well.

“Eh, you’re younger than me. But I can see why a first gen wouldn’t like it.”

“First gen is a stretch mis amigo, I wasn’t even here until the fifties or sixties.”

“I’m guessing you were still the first one here, that’s what matters for you later first gens.” Prominence laughed a little. “I remember when we made that change, took almost a year of correspondence.”

“Let me guess, you are a true first gen?”

“Debatable, I wasn’t built for my job, so some don’t like to think of me with that prestige.” Prominence snorted. “Like any of us were meant to be flawed.”

“Hey, it looks like the show is over, come on let’s get you something clean to wear, the showers aren’t far, you can clean off and I’ll get you some coveralls.” Victor said, Prominence nodded and turned the TV back off.

“So where are the showers, old chap.” Prominence piped, Victor nearly choked at the unfitting turn of phrase but Prominence even started to laugh at their self, the two laughed for a small moment. “No really, bitte?” Prominence said as he calmed a bit.

“Next room, labelled locker room, go in the fem one, if some one shows up you are least likely to get caught. We don’t actually have any fem employees any more.” Victor said, Prominence nodded and made their way over to the disclosed location. Victor made sure he went in the correct door.

Alone, Victor took a puff of air as he finally relaxed a small bit.

“Uf, largo día largo día, pero él es lo suficientemente bueno, me pregunto cómo vamos a tratar a largo plazo, va a ser un puñado.” Victor said to himself, his native language ringing in his ears comforting him in a gentle way.

Victor slowly made his way to get some of the basics for Prominence, he hummed to himself as he walked along, checking out a window at glance it did indeed look like Kevin was asleep so he could take his time taking care of the new engine at his works. Once back to the locker room, Victor peaked in, he saw and heard a shower running but didn’t see Prominence in the slightest.

“Hola?” Victor called, he walked over to the shower still, on the floor Prominence was sitting against a wall, trying to pick dirt and rust from their knotted hair.

Prominence looked up at Victor and smirked a little. “It’s been, quite a while.” Prominence laughed awkwardly, embarrassed slightly.

“I’ve seen engines much worse before, now why don’t you finish up just your body, and I can help you with the hair grime in a sink.” Victor said with a smile at the German, Prominence nodded, and quickly standing finished their shower. Victor passed over a towel an the coveralls without hesitation, Prominence dried their self off and put on the coveralls.

“My hair has always been a wreck of dirt, I must admit.” Prominence said as Victor pulled them to a sink.

“Well, we will deal with it, mis amigo.” Victor chirped.

“For an American, you sure do use a lot of Spanish.” Prominence commented as they were pulled down into a sink. Victor scoffed.

“I’m Cuban, always-”

“You are obviously a Baldwin engine, I haven’t even seen you’re shell and I can tell, raised in Cuba though, that’s a country that never really exported it’s engines.”

“Alright, Mr. big shot, how can you tell?” Victor snapped at the German he was now picking rust and dirt out of.

“I know you are short any ways but you have a very bulldog like stance, Baldwin engines are very bulldog like for whatever reason. Closed in and forward, It’s odd on some engines but not on you. Also you are very wide for you’re size, American all the way.” Prominence chimed, their voice bouncing off the porcelain sink.

“Observant and knowledgeable, why were you ever scraped.” Victor said as he poured some water over Prominence’s hair to try and get more out.

“Well I mean, I just-”

“VICTOR!” A voice called, echoing in the semi large room and cutting off Prominence. Victor cringed a little and sighed. He pulled Prominence out of the sink, hair mostly clean.

“Time to meet the help.” Victor said, handing Prominence a towel to dry off their hair.

Suddenly the door burst open and in fumbled and fell in a smaller masc with messy off blond hair, a face full of innocence and freckles, with a large smile.

“Victor! Victor! I saw a shooting star!” the masc yelled, standing and running to Victor, who made a sharp noise as the masc ran into him.

“Oh! That is really special, Kevin!” Victor said, ruffling the hair on the masc.

“Ooo, who is that Victor?” Kevin asked, bouncing over to Prominence.

“This is The Prominence, he is a new project, who might be working with us when he is done!” Victor told Kevin, Kevin nodded and held a hand to Prominence. Prominence shook the cranes hand softly.

“Nice to meet you, Prominence!” Kevin called.

“Hello, Kevin,” Prominence said, softening a little at the crane.

“So what did you do before!” Kevin asked, Victor sighed.

“Prominence is tired, Kevin, let-”

“I was the head Works Engine of the Works Engine council and the top ranking Works Engine Mentor of Great Britain, and I worked at several different Works including the Doncaster, Crewe, and Swindon.” Prominence said quickly, a small smirk lining his face as both Victor and Kevin paled.

“Santo infierno mis amigo.” Victor said awestruck, Kevin just stared at Prominence.

“What?” Prominence said blankly.

“T-that's insane, how old are you?” Kevin asked.

“158 years or so, but age isn't anything to this.” Prominence leaned over Kevin a little and smiled at him, they ruffled the small cranes hair a small bit.

“My hair?” Kevin asked looking confused.

“You head.” Prominence said, Victor smiled and looked outside.

“Ois, we better get some sleep. Look at that moon.” Victor sighed, he started to the works door, Kevin skipped after him and Prominence surprisingly skipped along quickly as well. Outside Prominence stopped.

Victor looked back at them and cocked his head to the side.

“What's wrong?”

“There so still and clear, I haven't seen them in so long, London is really no place to see the stars.” Prominence called, a quiver in their voice and a mist in their eyes. Victor stepped over and put a hand up on Prominence's shoulder.

“You can look all you want, Welcome to the island of Sodor, Prominence.”

Prominence took a breath and looked at the ground. “Thank you, dear Victor.”

“Come on, let us get some sleep before tomorrow, it will be a big day.” Victor said, he pulled Prominence along by their sleeve.

Hi can you help me find this fic please? It was a mama!au (chaptered), and it was sort of adventure-ish? There is this scene I can remember tough. I think it was Xiumin and another member. They were supposed to find the other members for some reason. They went aboard a battle ship or something and found Baekhyun locked in a cell. And he had his mama mark somewhere on his back (shoulder I think). That is how Xiumin and the other member knew he (Baekhyun) was one of them. Thank you!

New Look Sabres: Amerks Angle - March Edition

If you’re not following Let’s Go Amerks on twitter you’re missing out. Those back to back games against the Charlotte Checkers earlier this month got me going. LGA talked me down, I was ready to go into panic mode about a potential Eastern Conference Final. You’d think I’m new to this sports thing. A couple disclaimers on this story: Yes, I know there is a different level professional hockey players turn up to when the playoffs start. In spite of my blog normally being about a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in eight years, I know those kinds of things. Another thing: I put a little bit too much stock in regular season matchups. The first two games of the season against the Checkers is certainly a different thing but am I crazy for thinking it affected these guys since then? Bear in mind they had a decent sized layover to rest and practice between those Checkers games and the Cleveland Monsters game this time last week. However, there have been two losses since and the two wins against Toronto were just ok. Moreover, the Americans have not been able to recapture their lead of the North Division since those two games against the Checkers. The Syracuse Crunch, ever the killjoy team for this Amerks squad, has caught fire. They’re trying to get their second Division title in three years as if its no big deal. If I hadn’t jinxed it and started to obsess over the Amerks getting a division title this year I would’ve relished their taking the top spot going into the big dance and taking on the hot Belleville Senators in the first round. Though here I am, watching the Amerks narrowly win games two wins back of the Crunch. The Amerks have eight games left including tonight’s matchup against the Laval Rocket. Laval would be dead last if it weren’t for the Binghamton Devils stinking up the division. Facing those two teams would have inspired some confidence in my if we hadn’t seen the Amerks lose to inferior competition a half dozen times in the early going of this season. The last eight games also include three games against the Crunch. Yikes, this playoff race thing is something I am not used to and a little intimidated by. As a fan of this Sabres-Amerks organization I got to say thank God though; if the Amerks weren’t good this season what would we do?

There is more than a playoff race going on, however. Casey Fitzgerald of Boston College signed his entry-level deal the other day and the Captain of the BC Eagles was one of their better defenseman as he finished his senior season out there in Hockey East of the NCAA. He was assigned to Rochester immediately and with the Matt Tennyson call up to Buffalo Fitzgerald may get his first opportunity tonight against Laval. He fills a defensive need on the organizational depth chart and in spite of being just under six foot he is an assist machine. Kind of like what we saw out of Eichel this season you know you have a good playmaker when the guy is making a ton of other people’s goals happen. I’m not saying he’s the defensive Jack Eichel, he’s unproven beyond the college level but man, it is good that he gets to roll right on from his college hockey season right on into an Amerks playoff run to find out how good he is. On the player personnel side things have gotten pretty interesting lately in general. I want to preface all the call ups we’re about to go into by saying I expect all these guys will be back, hopefully healthy, for the Amerks playoff run. I don’t see the Linus Ullmark affair repeating itself this season anywhere but perhaps we can put a bow on all the call up/deployment hard feelings we seem to be feeling right now. Lawrence Pilut got the call up before the Sabres game on Monday against the New Jersey Devils. Unlike Tage Thompson who is also qualified to come down to the Amerks for their run, Pilut was supposed to stay up in Buffalo earlier this season. He is easily worthy of being in that defensive core and I suspect he will be soon if the wisdom of the GM prevails over the poor deployment of the NHL coach. Pilut is a good soldier on the back end and has made this… apparently tanking Sabres team, a little easier to watch. Again, he’ll be back. I almost forgot, last week saw the Alex Nylander call up which has gone swimmingly and barring a real disaster he may be at peak confidence when he returns to the Amerks. How fortunate change, eh? This leaves us with the Victor Olofsson call up. We can worry about injury until the second coming, but I prefer, in this desolate, depressing time for the Sabres, to be optimistic. Up for one game and Olofsson already has his first NHL point. There is no reason not to be excited for him. He’s going to do good up in Buffalo and he’s gone for two games the bodies remaining in Rochester should be able to handle in the Rocket and the Devils.

Frustrations are high in Buffalo right now. I see a lot of us Amerks fans have poked the bear more than we should. Another lost Sabres season is tough and I understand fully why we want our Amerks postseason to not get… dare I say it… sabotaged by a couple of call ups. Full-time Sabres fans have no patience right now for us asking for a little bit of understanding and if you haven’t noticed the angry responses are robotically reciting the relationship between the NHL and AHL again. Let it go. If injuries happen they happen. If they don’t, fantastic! No Sabres fan is wishing injury on our players. It bears repeating in times like this that the organization as a whole has never had a more build-from-the-bottom-up regime than it does right now, not in the last twenty years at least. Treasure that and when Sabres fans are too thick-headed to understand why poor NHL deployment and injury risk are scary enough factors for Amerks fans: let it go. When they’re in a better mood they’ll understand, trust me, I’m one of them. You know what will put them in a better mood? A Calder Cup Championship and that’s not exactly out of the question this season. I had to get those feelings off our collective chest, that stuff is absurd right now. Once again let me recommend Let’s Go Amerks: Keith and Eric run a fantastic blog for the Rochester Americans and speaking of call up drama, no Amerks fans handle it better than those guys.

Unfortunately, I have some bad news to report. Due to some personal, scheduling factors in my life it seems as though the “Calder Quest” updates during the playoff run are going to be awfully difficult to accomplish. I won’t be doing anymore Amerks Angle Updates on the team this season. For all three of you who are a little bummed at that, I apologize. It doesn’t mean I won’t be locked into everything the Amerks do from here on out. Moreover, I will be posting a fun little tracker of the Calder Cup run regularly. I have all kinds of ideas for what Amerks Angle could be next season, but I want to hear what you think. Like, share and comment on this post what you think would be a fun way to cover the Rochester Americans. I am going to recommend Let’s Go Amerks one more time now just to get the hat trick. Those guys are the gold standard but don’t expect me to go full beat reporter on the Amerks. I live in Buffalo right now and frankly I don’t have the time or writing skills to do what they do. Either way, hopefully next time we’re together here recapping the Amerks we have a banner or two to talk about. Let’s Go Rochester!

Officer responded and insured admitted to police officer that he tapped rear bumper. Police officer looked at my rear bumper and refused to make a police report as he said cannot issue a report unless damage is over $1500. I begged the officer repeatedly to please provide me even an incident report or something official like an affidavit as the teenager admitted to officer that he hit my rear bumper. Police Officer simply drove off and left me on the side of the road with a stranger. Of course now four weeks later, the insured and his father have simply ignored phone calls, emails and registered mail attempts by his insurance carrier to verify version. (not sure what version would be needed as my black paint is on his front bumper) I called the insured and his dad hung up on me twice. 25 Days of Reylo for the Holidays!

25 Days of Reylo! I am not two days behind, at all. I definitely posted this on December 1st.

This is my first Reylo story. Modern AU. I plan for some of these oneshots to connect but most of them will be different AUs.

This one is a new romance, Ben Solo goes on a blind date that his friend Phasma set him up on. Rey goes on a blind date that Poe sets her up on.

Rey didn't know how she got herself into these things. She had tried on eight dresses- well the only eight she had. Provided three of them were auto tossed out of the options seeing as they were summer dresses and she would be a frozen water pipe. Finn and Poe, after having stolen a kiss from one anther, asked her to do a twirl in the beige number she had on. The skirt of the dress was pleated, it had double breasted buttons and ruffles flanking the buttons that looked almost like a big bow, long sleeves. With some white knit thick leggings and her ankle boots this would be perfect. When she told the boys, they demanded to see. Poe dog whistled and Finn spoke up, “You'll knock him dead pumpkin!”

“Do I really have to do this?” she looked at herself in her full length closet mirrors.

“Do you want to cancel?” Finn sat at attention, he then sent a pointed look at his boyfriend, “Poe will happily cancel it for you.”

“Will I?” Poe said and wiggled his eyebrows at his boyfriend.

“You're a brat!” Finn smacked him on the shoulder. “Pumpkin, I will make him cancel, I know his phone passcode.”

“No you don't.” Poe cut in. “Yes I do, it's my birthday.”

“Oh yeah...”

Rey shook her head. “No, no, you guys are right, I should try something.” She hugged herself.

“If the date doesn't go well, you know to text me our secret word and I will cry on spot.” Finn said with a cheeky smile. He embraced her. “Now, let me get my supplies and I'll do your makeup!”

Can't go wrong with white shirt, black tie, dark gray suit. He tied his black dress shoes and placed on his light grey trench coat. He trimmed up his mustache and beard and applied his cologne. His phone rang, he answered, “Phas, what's up?”

“Ben, are you leaving?”

“Why yes mother,” Ben said making sure he was a dry as possible in tone.

“I was just making sure you didn't back out of this one, I know the ones Armitage sent you on were terrible, but this is my friend.”

“Phasma, he sent me on a blind date with a Prostitute who thought I was paying her for the time at the date and using dinner as a way to discount her rates.” Ben said and pinched his nose. “I was lucky she was nice enough to understand that this was a mistake and I still felt bad and gave her some money.”

“That was one time-...”

“What about the time he set me up with the janitor at work because he thought I was gay for not having sex with the prostitute?”

“Okay, he was in the dog house for that one, in fact, he's still sleeping on the couch.” she sighed and then chuckled , “but the others weren't that bad.”

“The first one kept reapplying her makeup, went to the bathroom four times, and then left me when her ex boyfriend called- and mind you she answered his phone call during the date. The second one had no thoughts of her own and the third one was married and thought I wanted to be her side guy.”

“Armitage....” Phasma said with a scoff, “Is an oblivious idiot, but I am competent, just trust me.”

“I trust you.” he finally said in his car. He would be slightly early to the date, but he couldn't stand being late anywhere. La Petite's was busy for a Thursday night, he supposed he shouldn't be surprised it was December 1st after all. The building was a marble white with fine wooden french doors. He entered and gave the hostess his name. “Right this way Mister Oragana-Solo.” the interior was built akin to a Gothic Cathedral, holly and tinsel everywhere. The lamps above the tables had mistletoe on them. Even the table clothes were festive, they were red instead of black, and the cloth napkins were green with holly and leaves embroider into them. He asked for a glass of Chardonnay, telling his waiter that he was waiting for his date.

Rey was just on time for her date. She smoothed her dress and got off her moped. She tried to stop touching her face, Finn was a professional makeup artist and she looked drop dead gorgeous thanks to him- she didn't want to ruin his work. She glanced up at the sign, written in fancy calligraphy, La Petite. Her date had picked this place, she could never afford something like La Petite. She hoped her date was paying, or else she'd have to pull from her savings. Then Finn and Poe would owe her dinner. The tile was glossy and put in geometric patterns with black, cream and brown hues. She glanced around at the people. Men were in suits and women seemed to be wearing long evening formal gowns. She felt incredibly underdressed. A blush began to creep onto her face, she turned to leave, call Finn but the hostess asked her if she had a Reservation.

“Yes, I was told to meet my date here.” Rey cleared her throat.

The hostess, who was wearing a little black dress and name tage said 'Rose', looked at the books. “Is it with a Mister Organa-Solo?”

“Uh, I am not sure, I was put on a blind date you see.”

“Besides Mister Organa-Solo, there is a Mister Radar waiting for a date.”

“Radar sounds familiar, actually.”

“Right this way then, Miss.” Rose gestured for her to follow with a menu tucked under her arm. Rey wanted to gag at all the Christmas décor. It seemed so forced and the Christmas music going on was some odd jazz lounge version of classic carols. She passed by a handsome man, she paused to get a good look. He had black soft wavy hair, dark honey colored eyes, plush lips and broad shoulders. He seemed to be glancing at a watch that might have been as expensive as a car payment. He had an empty chair on the other side of him. She shook herself and followed Rose to a blond with large gold rim glasses. He wore a brown suit that seemed more from a Thrift Store than a department store. Maybe he was eccentric?

“Rey?” he asked.

“Hello, it was Matt wasn't it?” she had been so nervous earlier she became embarrassed she forgot his name. Poe had definitely told her.

“Yeah, I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of ordering for us already.”

Rey blinked, she wasn't sure how to respond. “Oh, okay.”

“I got a groupon for this place, but it was only select dishes,” he said and then smiled, “I hope you like Caesar Salad.”

“I do actually.” she said her feet turning towards her escape root. “Is that all the meal comes with?”

“No, no, there's the free bread sticks they give here.”

She blinked once more.

Ben looked up in time to see a beautiful brunette walk up. He tried to school his expression to be sure not to seem to eager, but Phasma had done well. She had a dusting of freckles on her face, Hazel eyes that leaned very much on the green side. She was shorter, wearing a beige colored dress and white knit leggings. He was about to get up to pull her chair out when he noticed her blush and follow the waitress. He cleared her throat. “Guess that wasn't my date.” he ran a hand through his black hair, “Wish she was.”

He glanced at his watch again. It's been almost ten minutes passed their meet up time. Another ten minutes passed by, soon it had been almost thirty minutes. He finished his wine and left with the cash on the table for the wine and tip. He didn't even care for the receipt, he'd been there enough they knew him by first name. His stomach grumbled, so he drove himself to his favorite food truck. According to their Facebook the Flying Bison was at the intersection of 6th street and Broadway. He pulled into the dirt parking lot, once parked, he got out and buttoned his coat to fight off the cold.

“Ben Solo, How's my favorite Nephew?”

“Hey Uncle Chewie,” he hailed him with one hand in the air and the other reaching for his wallet. “Fried rice and chicken please.”

“On the house tonight, kid,” came Chewie's deep rumbling voice from the back of the food truck. “Mostly cuz your face looks longer than normal, what's eating you kid?” He had the meal already in hand. His dark skin meeting Ben's pale hand to exchange food.

“I was stood up on a blind date, she was number six in a month span, all horrible.” he mused, leaning on the side of the truck and eating his food. “I even tried to go all out this time, made reservations at La Petite, you know, Mom and Dad's haunt.”

Chewie was washing his hands in the sink and drying them, he shook his head and laughed, “Sorry, Ben, they just weren't right I guess. Usually the right one doesn't come along planned, it's usually an accident. You Aunt Maz and I met when she was pulled over on the side of the rode trying to put her spare tire on her car. The tire was almost as big as her I swear.”

Ben's eyes automatically went to the picture of the couple, she wore colorful attire, bright colors that complimented her dark complexion. Chewie's hand around her in his suit before he realized his true passion was cooking. “I miss Aunt Maz.”

“Me too.” Chewie agreed, looking at the picture with Ben. “Not a day goes by I don't think of that beautiful woman.”

They paused and turned when they heard the soft humming of a moped. Chewie perked up, “That's my favorite customer!” he went to the back, putting fried rice and beef into a container like Ben's.

Ben noticed the girl struggling to get her helmet off. She growled and when she finally got it off, she roughly placed it on the handles. He heard her sniffing and when she approached he instantly recognized her from La Petite. He turned to his Uncle as she pulled out her wallet from her purse, “Hey, this is on me Uncle.”

The girl snapped her head in his direction. Tears were welled in her eyes, her freckled face was flushed and blotchy from crying. She was wearing a very large and heavy dark brown peacoat. “T-thank you...”

Chewie handed her the plate and took the twenty dollar bill from Ben's hand. When he handed back the change he looked to Rey, “Rey, my favorite customer, I would like you to meet my Nephew, Ben Organa-Solo.”

Ben smiled and offered his hand. She took it, “Pleasure to meet you Ben.”

As Ben went to speak, Chewie cut him off, “What's with the tears?”

Rey wiped her eyes with her free hand, she cleared her throat, “I just had the most horrible blind date.” she sniffed, tears threatening again. Ben perked up, he wanted to touch her hand, or do something to stop her from crying. “He took me to La Petite's on a groupon, which is fine but he ordered me a salad- if it wasn't bad enough that he ordered for me without asking me what I even wanted, he said we were to share it.” she huffed a little and ate some of her fried rice. “Then he wouldn't let me order anything but water, when I finally got him to order me a soda, he tried splitting that as well- then, then, he asked how big my purse was so he knew how many bread sticks he could keep in there.”

Ben gaped a little, what kind of a cheap asshole, takes someone to dinner at a high class restaurant, admits he's only there for Groupon, and then splits the cheapest thing on the menu with a stranger.

She chuckled darkly, “ And then, when the bill came, he asked me to do the tip and to pay for the soda since his Groupon was only three dollars off a meal.” She shoved rice and beef into her mouth. Chewie was shaking his head. “Not that I didn't mind paying, but what the actual fuck, and what's worst is when he walked me out to my moped, he asked if I was ready to go to his place and fuck.”

Ben and Chewie's brows shot up, “Did he actually say 'fuck'?” Chewie asked.

Rey nodded, chewing on her rice.

“Wow, I thought I had a bad night, my blind date only stood me up, I'm sorry Rey.” Ben said looking into her beautiful eyes. “What an asshole, treating someone like that.”

“You, were you at La Petite too?” she said, some recognition on her features. Ben nodded.

Chewie spoke up, “Then, I would suggest my favorite Nephew and my favorite customer, go over to the seating area and try to finish the evening on a good note.”

Rey bit her lip and glance up coyly at Ben, who grabbed his bowl in one hand and offered free arm to her, “Join me Miss?”

“I'd love to.” she took his arm and balanced her food in the other hand. They sat under the lighted table and benches area. There were large heat lamps around. They sat there for at least an hour, laughing, eating, getting Chewie's famous crab puffs, other people came and went. A mother with two kids, an elderly couple, some teenagers, but Ben and Rey never took their eyes off each other.

He was laughed, Ben hated his laugh, it always seemed to sound dorky, but Rey said she adored it so he let her. “Ready for Christmas?” he asked her, mostly to get them off the topic of his laughter.

Rey shrugged her shoulders, “I'm not a big Christmas person, actually.”

“Really?” he leaned forward, “I love Christmas, the songs, the decorations, I guess I'm kinda into the old fashioned, Rustic looking stuff and listening to Nat King Cole's Christmas music on repeat.”

She had grown silent. She averted her eyes to the ground. He went to apologize but she put her hand up to stop him, “No, it's just, my parents died when I was young. I was in foster care until about eight when my adoptive father came for me. Unkar wasn't a kind man, he only adopted me for the money and any sort of tax cuts, I was used as a tool to get women to date him. Christmas was only celebrated when he had a girlfriend and it always felt so fake.” she scoffed, “I am okay with Christmas now, but I used to loath it.”

Ben spoke up, “So, you're the Grinch?” There was a twinkle in her eye as she smiled at him. She laughed into her hand, sounding like an angel. Ben put his head in his hand and elbow on the table, “Can I call you sometime? Ask you on a real date?”

She blushed and nodded, “But only if we don't go to La Petite and if we're splitting the bill please tell me in advance.”

“My lady, I will be up front always, let the first date be on me, you can have the second date.” he winked and took her hand, watching for any sign she was uncomfortable, “I don't mind riding backside on your valiant steed,” he gestured his head towards her mint colored moped.

She took his hand and flipped it over, she clicked a pen open from her purse and wrote her number and name on his palm. She saw the time on his watch, she gasped, “Oh no, it's going to be midnight soon!” she grabbed her purse and sped walked to her moped, “Good bye Ben, Call me, text me!”

He got up and easily caught up to her, “Is your moped going to turn into a pumpkin, Cinderella?”

She giggled and got on her moped, she told him, “No, I promised my roommates I would be home by ten, they must be worried sick.” she glanced at her phone. He saw several text messages and six missed calls.

“Well, tell me when you get home, Cinderella, so I know you're safe.”

“I will, good bye!”

He watched her take off. He glanced back at Chewie how was readying his truck for closing. He waved to Ben, gave him and thumbs up. Ben chuckled to himself and got in his car. Added Rey into his contacts as Cinderella and went home.

New Look Sabres: GM 44 - CAR - No Answers

When Jeff Skinner got the All-Star Weekend’s Last Man in Atlantic Division spot this afternoon it felt like we had won something. It’s always fun when it feels like a whole community is behind something but this insistence seems to be a thing with team that don’t win many things. Our closest friends to the north had a few of their players get together in a hotel room and make a video campaigning for Morgan Reilly to be this division’s last man in. We have our guys and we stick by them, especially when we don’t have the mystique of banners blurring our vision. Jeff Skinner, a Toronto boy himself, came into this first game against his former team of eight seasons on a wicked tear tallying 29 goals in 43 games. His agent has also surely ended the telephone tag with the Buffalo Sabres front office to begin contract talks in earnest. For several reasons I think I speak for many Sabres fans when I say hanging a few goals on this Canes team, especially by the stick of Skinner, was a tantalizing idea entering tonight. The 2006 series is a little before my time so the crux of my hatred for Carolina is really rooted in the Whalers night and their treatment of our boy, Jeff. That trade in the rearview mirror last summer and the organization looking for a scoring winger now as if they didn’t have one for eight years, sets the stage for an excellent playoff trash talk: Carolina, Your loaded lineup is clearer to everyone outside then it is to any of the old-fashion tools you have in your front office. You got a GM smart enough to recognize the brilliance of post-game rituals but not smart enough to understand y’all were one goalie away from contention last summer. A Playoff series with you would be a fun confluence of circumstances that would create a small City of fun narratives not least of which would be both teams having being out of the playoffs for so long. Y’all don’t have it, though. You certainly don’t have the goaltending to win a series and of the glut of skilled skaters who would make it difficult for the Sabres to go sweeping these Canes together are less than the sum of their parts. Sabres in 5, and your uninspired team back into the basement! Let’s get down to some Friday night fun!

The first ten minutes of this game was remarkably similar in chances and overall pace. It was back and forth pretty consistently well Carolina seemed to give up the more juicy rebounds and overall chances. Then just about the screwiest goal against for the Sabres this season happened when noted trade bait Micheal Ferland put the puck high on Carter Hutton and the puck went almost straight up. It bounced off the top of the net back toward Hutton and Marco Scandella came rushing into help only to help knock it in. Lucky bounce: Carolina up 1-0. There would be more screwy goals in this game unfortunately. With Jack Eichel back in this game he centers a top line of Skinner and Tage Thompson. Thompson got his opportunities last game; more than that he’s looked great lately and you got to think the patience Phil Housley and this coaching staff has had with him is paying off. That’s a fun top line and after the Sabres held off the Canes push through the remainder of the first it gave us some fun. Rasmus Dahlin was right in front of Curtis McElhinney and put one past him but not in before Jeff Skinner swung in and evened up this game at 1 with twenty seconds left in the first. Even better, it was a powerplay goal for a club that rarely scores powerplay goals. Even better: screw Carolina and their foolish management for cutting loose our sweet Jeff for having a couple concussions several years ago! An NHL team traded this guy! I know we said the same thing about Ryan O’Reilly but guys, this shit is the real deal this time!

It was nothing but good vibes going into the second. Then things really opened up. There was powerplay going each way in the first. In the second there were five; favoring Carolina of course but five. This middle frame is when Carolina outshoots Buffalo who outshot them in the first. The Sabres powerplay had an opportunity early in this period to get ahold of this game and it failed to because we almost forgot how the PP goes on this team with that Skinner goal, eh? Starting at 4:30 into this period three goals happened in 1 minute and 12 seconds. First it was grizzled Canes legacy veteran Justin Williams who skated in from the left wall on Hutton and put it over his near shoulder. Thirty seconds later Evan Rodrigues, Jason Pominville and Johan Larsson come streaming into the O-zone and even though that sounds like the setup to a joke the goal Pommer scored straight as an arrow down the middle was no joke. It was 2-2 for a precious, brief 42 seconds before the most fun name in the NHL Sebastian Aho got a goal in off Rasmus Dahlin’s skate. Hutton had no chance. The rest of the period allowed us to catch our breaths but offered no solace when Sebastian Aho got in another freakish bouncer through Hutton’s legs at 12:27 into the period to get Carolina up 4-2. The Sabres attack seemed to struggle to set up anything in the O-zone for the rest of the period before everyone’s drunk uncle Johan Angry Larry Larson got into a fight he decisively lost against Justin Faulk. The second intermission was nothing like the first: no good vibes this time. Only prayers the third period Sabres come alive and get us this win. Everyone hates Carolina in Buffalo in spite of everyone’s cousin living there according to how many Sabres fans appeared to be at that arena.

Whatever secret mojo the Canes selectively have from season to season, game to game, well they found it. I am not going to bitch and moan about the bounces on the ice because that is the weakest sauce out there. The Canes broke up everything in the third period. Bad bounces aside the Sabres got to the net a handful of times in the in the final frame and just could not get one through. Sabres powerplay: oh you know how it ended. Nothing, nothing happened except my excruciated groans frightening my cats and awaking my wife. That is, until the final five minutes of this game when Kyle Okposo goes all the way down the wall and rode the goal line in and shot the tightest angle goal humanly possible. That makes sense coming from the sex-man: it made me think if Pommer and Okposo can score in this one maybe we can get a November style comeback. My hopes went up and not long after Hutton went off for the extra man and Buffalo called a timeout. Trailing by one goal with less than two minutes left you see the guys gather around the bench where assistant coach Davis Payne strategizes with the olde clipboard. Housley has had some trouble with his behind-the-bench staff or at least that’s the hot rumor right now. Payne seems to be the deployment and strategy guy in situations like this. Sure, the Canes didn’t score an empty netter but this game ended 4-3 and I can’t help but look at the Blue and Gold struggling to get some O-zone time in those last minutes with the extra man and think maybe a shake up behind the bench wouldn’t hurt right now. This loss stung and all the Skinner narrative aside, no combination of right wings for him and Eichel got it done as the panicked shuffling began in the third. I’m not saying these last six games have been so rough because deployment has ruined us, Eichel was out for a few games, but whatever it is they got to figure it out. Carolina is a team you have to beat in the back half of this season especially.

I also hate how the Sabres have been back passing and dumping and chasing for the last dozen games or so. That shit kills teams, it’s not aggressive and it’s not what made this team get ahead in the first half of this season. That first half was a lot of luck but also a lot of making your own chances. This team made few of their own chances tonight and this revolting loss to the Hurricanes is the result. It’s Tampa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver now before the bye-week. If you think any of those teams will be a walk in the park you haven’t you haven’t looked at the standings lately. The Buffalo Sabres are going to fall out of their playoff spot and I don’t feel bad saying it now. It’s inevitable now. The question really is can they get it back: can they? Jack’s going to look a better as we go here but it’s going to take the whole team to make good on the risen standards of this season. The Sabres answered a goal with a goal in the second period of this game but right now it really feels like they have no answers for a team that is damn near in free fall. What’s going to turn it around?

I apologize for this cloud of depression over your Friday night but hey, that’s not my fault is it? Tampa Bay is tomorrow and I find myself on another trip east this weekend so you probably won’t see that postgame blog until Sunday night. I got to be honest: unless we have a fun little upset to talk about I don’t anticipate there being a lot of enthusiastic recapping going on in that one. Maybe you can answer me this: What will it take to get the Sabres on the right track again at this point? Just like the boys in Blue and Gold I don’t have any answers right now for that.

P.S. I think I am happy with Skinner getting 8 mil AAV over 7 years to as much as 9 mil over 7 years. I think he’s reasonable enough to know he won’t be making Eichel money.
