what was the birthday party(tm) scene like in the au? Did cpt Anya tell them about the firing or did she wait on it a little (Love how you still keep their personalities the same - most roleswaps do more of a personality swap instead of just roles, it still changes them though!)

'ooh, anya's birthday party!' i thought, like a fool, before i realised that swapping roles doesn't swap dates of birth as well (unless we work off the theory about the one communal birthday that 'so we can have it whenever' means just On Any Day, the in-game party doesn't actually happen on curly's birthday, but i digress)

anya tells swansea when she first receives the note, and they agree to wait with the news for a good-ish moment. so she doesn't bring it up at the party, not wanting to mess up a good day, very aware of how much the mood is bound to shift once everyone knows. and then she gets busy with other things and...yeah

after the crash, swansea finds the note in the ruins of the cockpit and pockets it. jimmy finds the note on swansea's corpse, and it's another nail in the coffin of his damaged psyche, leading him to the conclusion that fixing the pods is his one chance of getting them out alive. for which, well, he will need sustenance. it's only reasonable.
