oh okay this tome is everything i wanted out of a feng min tome. awesome.

spoilers under the cut i'm gonna ramble briefly

i love min being a very blunt, outspoken, and yet ultimately kind woman. "She feels like a freak for thinking respect has to be earned." is when i knew i was gonna like this story. shes fighting so hard to be respected, by her father, by her teacher, by her team, its all a constant uphill battle. her sacrificing the things that make her happy (reign of kaiju) for respect and a stable career and her and her family being able to live comfortably (laser bears) is just. agghhh i love this tome!!! additionally, i enjoyed them touching on her alcoholism and (implied) depression in a way that felt genuine. she just feels like a very real person, and not just a flat cute gamer girl skin like she was before. sorry i might go on about this more in the future i adore this story :)
