Let your S(e)oul take you where you long to be (v) - Christines, Raouls, and the last of this review

Finally finally fishing my reviews of August 8 and 9 shows (two months later, so embarrassing)

Christine

The first Christine I've seen is Song Eun-hye who showed herself to be a young wide-eyed Christine with a powerful belt (she gave an especially hair-standing Wishing). She was already fearful of the Phantom from the start and for most of the performance and it seemed being agape was her main play of the character until eventually becoming sympathetic to the Phantom (Cho Seung-woo) by Final Lair. It's a bit typical for me and I was looking for more variation, but from what I'm reading from her current performances, she's been even more emotive. I think she's still very much a work in progress but actually off to a good start.

Son Ji-soo reminded me of those 1950s/1960s film actresses with her physical features and the way she sang (very classical trained). That kind of presence hooked me in. At first she showed herself to be an excited Christine who was inspired by singing and apparently by her unseen mentor (giving her a joyful Think of Me and even POTO title song). I like how she uses her hands in her acting especially to reach out to her co-stars (from Carlotta in Il Muto, to Raoul in AIAOY/Notes reprise, and to the Phantom (Jeon Dong-seok) when he's commanding her to leave the lair), I like handy Christines in general. Overall, I find myself leaning toward SJS's Christine as having a more unique impression, but I would love to see how SEH is now.

Raoul

Hwang Gun-ha has...the most unusual Raoul voice I've ever heard. In that it's way too deep. He surprises me each time he sings. Because he looks like this kpop idol but with such a low register, there was somewhat a disconnect. And when he's angry he gets ANGRY. Definitely kept me alert.

Song Won-geun played an ever-reliable Raoul and ticked the boxes of a conventional portrayal. He is the Raoul you'd expect to see, gentlemanly, protective, and heroic, but nothing that really jumps out, it's all by the label.

Notables

Kim Ah-sun (Madame Giry) - She looked the role and sang it well. (sorry kdrama geek out moment) she reminded me of Kim Seo-hyung in Sky Castle who was this tutor from hell, and that kind of gothic stern presence made her a very effective Giry.

Park Ha-rim (Piangi) - Loved this guy's enthusiastic portrayal of Piangi and he is always a crowd-favorite because of how he extends his notes. I like how his character fanboys over Carlotta and actually becomes quietly impressed with Christine during the Don Juan Rehearsals. His was such a dynamic portrayal.

Han Bo-ra / Lee Ji-young (Carlotta) - Han Bo-ra was the comedic Carlotta and Lee Ji-young was the elegant one. Both delightful in their own ways and both worked well with Park Ha-rim with LJY even lovingly coaching him during the Don Juan Rehearsals.

Shin Jae-hee (Buquet) - I like how his Buquet is natural and not exaggerated, he actually seems to be spooked out by the Phantom, too, which makes me feel sorry about his death. Also the corpse is such a deadringer of the actor it's legit terrifying.

Yoon Young-seok (Andre) - Last but not the least, our Phantom veteran is now a manager with possibly an anxiety disorder. It's funny knowing he was the terror who haunts the opera house now he gets easily spooked up and he has his hand to his heart. Such a poor guy, but also cute at times.

No doubt their performances are even better two months after I've seen them so definitely take these reviews as dated. I'm glad the show is going to Daegu but sad that not all cast members are going. This time I look forward to all your reviews!! And I sincerely hope everyone can have a chance to see this masterpiece of a production at the Charlotte Theatre to experience it yourselves.

Mason was moaning and groaning under you, bucking his hips up as his hands moved dangerously close to you. You knew he was ready to snap and it only took you moaning his name into his mouth for him to forget himself and for his hands to land on your bum. HE CAN'T LASTTTT, IT'S STRONGER THAN HIM

‘I tell you what’ he laughed, standing up and grabbing you by the waist. ‘How I clear up, and you go upstairs and get yourself ready for me?’ He winked, reaching his hand down so he could pinch your bum. YESS

‘Don’t worry about me. Just go away, and I expect you bent over and ready or you will be punished’ OPSSS🤭🤭

You thought Mason was going to be longer than he was, clearly the excitement of you waiting upstairs for him too much to handle and you’d just finished stripping down to your underwear when he made his way into your room, closing his door and leaning back up against it with his arms crossed as his eyes flickered all over you. HE TIED UP IN FLESH' MOOD

‘I thought I asked for you to be bent over and waiting?’ He asked, his voice low and almost seeming disinterested but you knew that that meant. OPSSS🫣🫣🫣

‘Since you’re so good at not using your hands, you won’t mind me putting these on you?’ He asked, bringing around the hand that was behind his back slightly so you could now see the pair of handcuffs dangling from his fingers. Your legs turned to jelly instantly at the sight of them, you’d got them as a laugh a while ago but hadn’t really used them before but you knew Mason had been itching to try them and now seemed like a pretty good time. I'M NOT FEELING GOOD

‘And you remember the safe word?’ He asked, hands moving to your back so he could gently trace your skin. ‘Pineapple’ ‘And if you can’t talk, you remember what to do?’ ‘Tap your leg three times’ THE FACT THAT HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE SHD KNOWS WHAT TO DO IS JUST SOOO COMFORTING TO ME

‘On your knees for me’ he whispered and you did as you were told, gently getting down as he started to undress himself fully, gathering you hair up to keep out of your face before resting it gently on the back of your head. ‘No touching remember’ he whispered, grabbing a hold of himself and pumping a few times to make sure he was hard enough for you but he didn’t really need to as he was still turned on from your teasing downstairs. ‘Open up, sweetheart. It’s not gonna suck itself’ he laughed , cocking his eyebrow and you gulped down a nervous lump. WELL LOZ...WHAT CAN I SAY🤭🤭🤭

Ok so. I know I haven’t posted in years. But today I was looking at my old posts and I got motivation. Also this is a Toradora fanfic between the main characters Taiga(Lee) and Ruuji(Ler). I know that y’all prob didn’t watch it but I saw little to no fanfics abt them so here ya go. (Also I noticed that my last IwaOi fic was called king of my life. It was called that because I thought Oikawa’s was “king of the court” and not Kageyama. So... sorry. Anyways enjoy!)

Pork Cutlets

“Hey, Ruuji.” Taiga said as she pulled on his shirt sleeve. They were at the supermarket and Ruuji was deciding wether or not to buy the expensive beef or the cheap beef.

“Yes?” Ruuji responded. His train of thought now being broken.

“Can you make the pork cutlets again?” The short girl asked as she pointed at the pork section. “It’s soooo good.” She whined.

Ruuji smiled at the compliment.

“Is it really?”

“Yes. So, so, so good.” Taiga said in response.

“You know we had that yesterday right?”

Taiga tried to recall but ended up not caring.

“So? What does it matter?”

“I don’t want the same thing two times in a row.” Ruuji said turning his attention away from Taiga and back to the beef.

“I think we should get beef instead,” Ruuji exclaimed. “Haven’t had it in a while.”

“NO!” Taiga yelled at him. Ruuji jumped. “PORK, PORK, PORK, PORK!” Taiga chanted as Ruuji looked around to see if anyone was watching. He caught a glimpse of the shop keeper and immediately took notice.

“Ok, ok, I hear you.” Ruuji whispered sharply, trying to calm Taiga down. It’s been a long day for Ruuji and the last thing he wants is to get kicked out of a super market. Taiga jumped in the air like a starfish and hugged him. Ruuji couldn’t help but give a smile as he patted her head.

“Taiga! Dinners ready!”

It’s already been a few hours since they were shopping. Ruuji laughed as he heard his girlfriend rush into the room. He placed the nights meal on the table. Rice, vegetables, and of course the pork.

Taiga smiled and gratefully shoved the food in her mouth. Ruuji rested his face on his palm and smiled at the sight.

Taiga furrowed her eyebrows.

“What’re you staring at?” Taiga said, her mouth full of food.

“Nothing.” Ruuji said as he too dug in to his meal.

A few minutes later, which felt like seconds to Ruuji, Taiga was finished eating. She groanded.

Ruuji was still eating. He always thought that it was better to savor your food rather than to eat quickly .

“My stomach hurts.” Taiga whined.

“You shouldn’t have eaten so fast.” Ruuji said as he ate a peice of pork.

She grunted.

“I’m gonna go to bed.”

Ruuji sighed knowing that she would probably want company.

He got up as well and followed Taiga to their bedroom. They both climbed in bed and went under the blanket. Ruuji slid his hand under Taiga’s shirt and rubbed the area under to help ease Taiga’s pain.

Immediately,

Taiga squealed. Ruuji instinctively recoiled and hit his head on the wall. He flinched and rubbed the back of his head in pain.

“What are you doing Ruuji!” Taiga scolded as she frowned at him.

“What the heck was that noise?” Ruuji says in response still rubbing his head.

Taiga looked down and the color pink splattered all over her face.

Ruuji tilted his head.

“Taiga? Are you ok?” Ruuji asked placing his hand on her thigh.

“Ruuji I’m ticklish.” Taiga said in response as she turned away from him.

Ruuji laughed. He didn’t realize how insignificant the situation was. He reached over to Taiga and flipped her over making her face him.

“Taiga, are you still in pain?” Ruuji asked.

Taiga shook her head. Ruuji smiled.

“Operation cheer Taiga up is a go.” Ruuji said with a playful smile on his face.

“Huh? RuuUUUJIIIIII!” Taiga squeaked as he started to squeeze her sides.

“What? I don’t think anything is wrong.” Ruuji teased as he continued his assault.

“IT TICKLES RUUJI!” Taiga laughed out as she squirmed.

“That’s kinda the point idiot.” Ruuji whispered in her ear making her squirm some more.

“Where else are you ticklish Miss Aisaka?” Ruuji asked. “Perhaps here?” Ruuji said as he shoved his hands up into Taiga’s armpits.

“RUHUHUJIIII! STHOHOP!” Taiga yelled as she started to kick at him.

“That’s not very nice is it Taiga.” Ruuji said as he grinned at her.

“ITS NOHOT MY FAULT YOU STUHUPID DOG!” Taiga said through fits of laughter.

“AT LEHEAST EHEASE MEHE INTO IHIT!”

“I’m sorry?” Ruuji said in response. “I couldn’t quite hear you. You mind repeating that?”

Taiga pushed her boyfriend away and jumped out of bed giggling. Ruuji did the same and picked her up in his arms. He wiggled his fingers on her tummy and kissed her on the forehead causing more giggles to bubble out from Taiga.

Ruuji put her down.

“Now if you’ll excuse me,” Ruuji said, “I’m going to continue eating.”

Taiga nodded happily and followed Ruuji back to the dinner table.

“AHH RUUJI THERES A COCKROACH!” Taiga screamed.

“WHAT WHERE?!” Ruuji responded as he scanned his surroundings.

Taiga ran to his plate and hovered her hand over it. Ruuji gasped sarcastically.

“You wouldn’t.” Ruuji said teasingly. Taiga then continued to pick up the fattest peice of pork and plop it neatly into her mouth.

“Now you’ve done it.” Ruuji said as she ran out of the room giggling. He chased after her and caught her in his arms. He lifted her up.

“I was saving that one for lastttt.” Ruuji whined.

Taiga giggled as she prepared for another session of torture.

Next time she’ll be sure to ask for pork cutlets again.

Hi! 

It has beennnnnnnnnnn yearrrsss (i mean.. just 5 months) since i lastttt posted/ edited my stuff here.

I don’t know if i should continue writing this blog with day to day basis  because if i do, that’d be tooooo fucking long and be almost impossible to finish and catch up on whatever’s happening on my college life rn.

welp i got quite an idea... maybe ill write by month? almost similar on how i wrote my jhs and shs farewell notes, except it’s by month and not by school years (?)

i have a lot of personal projects i’d love to accomplish this year. and those are: finishing my 2019 and 2020 journals by adding pictures  anddd uh making scrapbooks so i wont have huge boxes of memorabilias from jhs and shs anymore... (i wonder where i’ll place the love letters i got tho hahahaa)

anyway, i hope i’ll finish writing in here about my 1st year of college life before this year ends.

Wowwowwow.

My last 2 developmental exam scores were in the 70 percentile & I had a C for like the longest time cause I had a shitty ass time in the beginning of the semester and I was going to class all hungover sometimes. I wasn't doing great, but then I decided to step it up and fix it & my last exam for that class, I was the second person to finish, in 20 min when we're given 2 hours and I felt confident about it. I kept telling myself I felt like I had done well, and I hoped for at least a B. Well, I got my score back today and I got a 99.17% and my professor wrote "wow!" as a comment.. my grade also went up 5% to a freaking B at lastttt!

Life is great! Life is so great!

Hello! Wah, life is really really great! haha. i dont think i have ever in my life had such a perfect life before. and i am so eternally and forever grateful for this. Let me list down the reasons why my life is perfect now. 

Haha here we gooooo~~

1. My family and I are at peace. Things are peaceful between my mum and me. and my dad and my bro and me. im even good with my bro’s gf

2. Lorraine and i are closer more so than in the past 10 years

3. I don’t have many new friends last year but i have a very nice group of friends. Morgan, Xiin, Ken, Mavis, Wileen and occasionally other people. but yeah, im actually very happy with my friends.

4. Career wise, after much exploration and being a coward, i have faced my fears and go for a job i want. and i fucking got it! i dont know how good or bad ogilvy is. but i just wanna be very grateful for this chance to be in a large corporation. and such a cool one at that!! and doing unilever?! woah. woah indeed! 

5. Career wise, felix and i are at peace. sometimes i wanna roll eyes at how good he thinks he is. but in general, he really is a good boss. and this really has been one of the best jobs i have ever done in my life

6. Money wise. okay, my financials are weak. while i cant even save up to 5k, emma is gonna buy a condo. haha. and im going to italy. lol. broke af. but at least im gonna be debt free soon. please shirley, NO MORE DEBTS. lol. roll eyes

7. Relationship wise. Nathan and i are going very strong despite no valentines day card/ celebration. but its okay. i really sincerely dont mind. its a weekday night. and its overpriced. and i’d rather spend the money in rome though hehe. hueheuehue

8. Travelling wise. YESSSS this year is the BEST ONE EVER!!! i am fucking going to italy. my first time going OUT OF ASIA! and my longest vacation ever. it is going to be a good one. it truly is and i believe it! mmmmmm 

9. Musical wise. yes, there is a musical wise this year AT LASTTTT!! hahahaha! WEEEEEE!! im gonna watch Chicago with lorraineee! its our second musical at Mastercard Theatre! hahaha! WEEEE 

10. TV shows wise. i finished unbreakable kimmy schmidt. im going to finish game of thrones soon. hmm, i think i will try westworld next. haha

11. Exercise wise. im into swimming nowwww and it makes me feel happy. cus when im in the water, i feel at peace with myself. and i can use that chance to either zone out or do daily gratitude. yea

So hence, life is so damn fucking awesome. and im truly truly happy. in all aspects of my life. ALL aspects of my life. thank you universe. Im looking at you through the background on my desktop. thank you universe so much for blessing me and giving me this life thats filled with everything i have hoped for and never giving up on me through my darkest most emotional periods. i know that i seek you only in my darkest days but i now celebrate you! thanks alot
