#i felt bad for the other manager but she's way calmer than me and was also a cashier before she was promoted

it's way too long for the tags (I tried I swear) so here we go. My "favorite" experience wasn't even when it was about my chronic illness at all! I had a regularly scheduled appointment but woke up with already very high fever. We're talking nearly 39C/102F at eight in the morning. That's bad.
Thankfully I had someone to drive me, so I could still go. With the doctor being pretty far away even with public transport and me barely being able to walk straight I would not have made it there otherwise. After over an hour of wait (WITH an appointment) it was my turn. Here's kinda how it went:
"Good morning! You're looking very healthy, but let's do the routine stuff anyway... oh WOW! Your pulse is unbelievably fast... how do you look so calm? haha. well that'd be it from me, anything on your end?"
I kind of stared at her for a few moments, entirely flabbergasted. It'd been maybe 2 minutes. She'd touched my bare skin, felt me burning up, even commented on how I looked much calmer than I should considering her results... and was about to send me home? At this point I was close to tears. Going outside and especially being inside a loud, warm, and overcrowded doctors office while feverish had taken a toll on me.
Somehow I managed to ask her to please take my temperature because I "felt a little off". I knew telling her I had already taken my temperature at home would lead to a lecture about how the worst patients are those that think they know better than their doctor.
But then...
"The thermometer has been a little broken haha but I don't want to interrupt the other doctors. I'm sure it will be just fine anyway... 37.4C/99.3F, you're a-okay!"
And she sent me home. With my racing pulse, unfocused eyes, unsteady walk, and a diagnosis from a thermometer she knew was broken. No medication, no advice. The second I was home, I measured my temperature myself again. It was now just about noon.
39.6C/103.3F
I ended up being sick in bed for over a week, barely able to eat or drink, all alone, starving some days, with my fever climbing above 40C/104F several times. My friends, who could only wait for my updates online, were begging me to go to the hospital. The day I relented and agreed to go if the fever got any higher... it finally broke
I've been sick a concerning amount of times since then, but I can't bring myself to go to that doctor again
hate going to the doctors with persistent debilitating symptoms and then then they call you with the results which is just like good news! your blood is red

Ok ok. So my last day at Michael's. It's 1:20, I was supposed to be off at 1, but I'm stuck on register. The girl at the other register is having a problem returning something for a lady, so she calls me over. I'm like. Ok I was supposed to be out already and I'm really hangry, but fine.
The woman was trying to return a $5 item, it wasn't showing up on the receipt she was trying to use, so we were trying to help her but she kept getting angrier and angrier and slapping multiple receipts on the counter, try this one try this one. She refused to take store credit instead and kept insisting it was on the receipt even though the register was saying it wasn't. Not much I can do there, but I was trying to figure it out and she was coming at me hard and finally I said, "OK I'M DONE HERE," called the other manager over, and walked off. Lmao always wanted to do that. Like ma'am this is my last day and I was supposed to leave 20 minutes ago. If I had $5 in my pocket I'd give it to you just to get you to shut the fuck up.
She said she was gonna call corporate on me and I'm like, never in 20 years have I had that happen so what a funny way to end my career at Michael's.
#i usually do everything i can to help people#I'm always nice even when they're fucking assholes#I've been in retail long enough to handle it#but girl BYEEEEE#i felt bad for the other manager but she's way calmer than me and was also a cashier before she was promoted#I'm not that good at register stuff so she knows better than me anyway

thanks drink water and eat good and stay healthy !!!!!
Author: I have a much harder time writing mean reader aus, so I hope u like it🩷 thanks for the request🩷
Warnings ⚠️: little bit of swearing and reader uses she/her. Mentions of periods. Requests are open
⚽️Blue Lock belongs to:Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura⚽️
'Just two more hours and then I can go to my bedroom for a nap.' (Y/n) thought as her eye kept on twitching from time to time. Yesterday her period started, and thanks to her cramps she barely got any sleep. Ego and Anri made her wake up a little earlier to get some papers done for the JFU and to prepare the practice field for the Blue Lock team.
While she usually didn't mind that work, the cramps and lack of sleep made it hard for her to not lose it just a little bit. (Y/n) was hoping to have a calmer day than it usually was, but of course she was asking for too much. It started off really normal, Chigiri and Aryu asked (Y/n) to braid and comb their hair, which she gladly did, but then it turned into Baro screaming at them to leave her alone.
While she was used to Baro scolding them, today anyone's yelling pisses her off. With a deep breath, (Y/n) shook her head and calmly told Baro that it was fine and that she didn't mind it. Next one to piss her off was Rin, who kept on ignoring her warnings about his hand injury. The night before he had an accident and fell om his hand while practicing. His constant saying that everything was fine and not to worry about him was genuinely getting on her nerves.
'Can't he see I am scared he might injure it more?!' (Y/n) thought as she counted to 3 and nodded her head. Rin was left flabbergasted with how easily she gave up and moved on.
'I... where are my back pats?! She always gives me them before leaving!' Rin sobbed internally as the girl was talking to Kurona and Bachira over their defense.
The third and final straw which made her break loose was an incident that happened 5 minutes before practice for that day ended. (Y/n) smiled tiredly at the pile of towels she had folded and was planning on bringing to the washroom. It all went well until she heard Isagi's yelling to move away. She did that just in time for the football to fly past her and into the towels. (Y/n) felt her breath hitch up as her face turned red in anger, all the while the pile of towels kept mocking her.
"Sorry about that, (Y/n)..." Isagi said quietly, but quickly jumped away as (Y/n) sent him a deathly glare.
"Sorry? You are sorry?" (Y/n) asked as Isagi gulped. Kujigami, Chigiri and Nagi watched the scene nervously and tried to get the rest to calm down.
"Yes-"
"SILENCE!"
The boys felt shivers run down their spines as they heard (Y/n)'s yell and quickly turned to look at the scene.
"The whole morning I have to deal with your shenanigans and all I ask is for you to keep those footballs on the field, Isagi! Look what you did here!" She said while pointing at the towels.
"Uh..."
"Not a word!" (Y/n) put her hand up as the team looked stunned.
"You move your egotistical ass over there, pick those towels up and bring them to the laundry room! I am not doing this today or putting up with anymore bullshit today!" Just as (Y/n) finished that sentence the bell rang, indicating the end of another training day.
"Did I make myself clear?!"
"To-totally clear." Isagi stuttered out and watched as (Y/n) walked off. Once she was gone and out of earshot the team let out a collective sigh of relief and looked at each other.
There was a silence among all of them as Isagi started picking up the towels, face red and heart racing.
'That was... that was so...so hot!' He gulped.
"I like this side of her." Karasu,as usual, spoke up before thinking his words through. The boy expected weirded out looks, but surprisingly only got nods of agreement.
"Y-yeah... it was kinda hot." Hiori agreed as he tried to cool himself down. Chigiri and Kunigami nodded in agreement, both faces red.
"You think she might yell at me if I take of my brace during training?" The redhead wondered.
"We should try, I can pretend that I took it somewhere and forgot where." The orange-haired boy added as his friend nodded his head in agreement. Yukimiya and Otoya were busy stopping their nose from bleeding to even say anything.
'She was so cute with that glare!'
'So hot! I hope she punches me next!'
"Haa~ it was kinda cute seeing her with an irritated look~ the blush was just a bonus." Niko added in as Kurona shyly nodded his head.
"I hope she insults me next."
"You all are so weird." Baro sweatdropped as Aryu shook his head at him.
"Let's not pretend like you didn't enjoy seeing our manager mad. I saw the blush you had while she was yelling."
"You were weirder! You started drooling, Aryu!"
"True, but I am not denying it."
"Isagi is so lucky to get yelled at by her. All I got was being yelled at by Ego-san." Gagamaru grumbled, hoping he might slip up next and get the Isagi treatment.
"Reo? Did you faint?" Nagi asked as he watched the boy sit up.
"Of course I did! Didn't you see the look she had on her face! That was so hot!" The purple-haired boy yelled as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"True... but a slap from her would feel a lot nicer. Can you pay her to slap me?" The albino wondered.
"Nagi, you are a genius! But instead of you, she will slap me!"
"I came up with it, Reo! I call dibs!"
"I am the richer one tho~"
"Damn you, insect. That should have been me. What does she see in you to yell like that?" Rin glared down at Isagi's form as the boy kept shaking in excitement.
"That's not fair! Isagi, we are best friends, I deserved the yelling too!" Bachira pouted
The next day everyone was pretty much waiting for (Y/n) to arrive so that they can provoke her into snapping again.
'Hopefully it's me this time.' They all thought.
"ISAGI!" The boy looked at the door with wide eyes as (Y/n) ran through it, holding a small strawberry cake in her hands.
"(Y-Y/n)?" He mumbled and ignored all the death stares he was receiving. The girl smiled in relief as she saw him and ran to his table.
"D-did I do something wrong again?" He asked, hoping she might yell a 'yes' or something like that, but to his disappointment she shook his head.
"No, not at all. I am here to apologize for yesterday. I shouldn't have let my anger out on you like that." (Y/n) said as she blushed in embarrassment.
"It's alright, I didn't mind."
Yukimiya, Hiori and Kurona facepalmed at his straightforward answer as Rin chuckled.
'Maybe she will think he is weird and not talk to him again.'
"Please don't say that, you have all the right to be mad at me. You are too kind, Isagi." (Y/n) smiled at the boy, causing him to cough nervously.
"Here! I made you this, it's not much but I hope it makes up for the trouble I did! Ego-san is fine with you eating this today." (Y/n) said as she handed the boy the small cake. This caused the tension in the room to rise as they looked at Isagi. He? Receiving a cake? Made by their lovely, kind manager?!
'That should have been me!' Reo thought as Niko pouted.
'I want a cake from (Y/n), too.'
'Why him?! I am the genius here!' Nagi was getting pretty much heated up by this point as Baro scoffed.
'That donkey really getting more attention than me? This won't fly by!'
Kunigami, Bachira and Chigiri tried to stay as calm as possible as they were right in front of her, but all three were pretty much ready to kick Isagi.
"Y-you really shouldn't have! I wasn't upset yesterday." Isagi said with a red face as (Y/n) squealed on the inside.
'He is so adorable and understanding! We as a society don't deserve him!' Internally (Y/n) shed a tear and kissed the boy on the cheek.
"Ah?!" He yelled in shock.
"We really don't deserve you, Isagi! Anyways, I will leave you to your breakfast." (Y/n) smiled at the boy one last time and ran out the dining room. The room was eerily quiet as they all looked at Isagi in shock and anger.
"Isagi, what the fuck?!" Hiori yelled.
"Yeah man, not cool! That was supposed to be my kiss!" Aryu yelled.
"Damn you, blue-eyed freak! What's so great about you?!" Rin yelled, watching in anger as Isagi happily ate his cake.
"That was upposed to be me, damn it..." Reo cried as Nagi laid his head on the table, trying to forget that awful scene.
"My day is ruined."
"So is my appetite." Niko and Gagamaru grumbled
"I wonder what's it like getting a cake from (Y/n)." Kurona raised an eyebrow.
"Forget that! Imagine a kiss! A KISS!" Karasu and Otoya yelled, both evidently jealous of all the attention Isagi was getting.
"I am the king here... why is a peasant getting all that attention."
"It's not fair..."
Meanwhile Isagi was happily munching on the cake as his three friends watched him with forced smiles.
'Isagi...'
'Why him?'
'I have much more kissable cheeks.'
"You know... (Y/n)'s lips are very soft." Isagi blurted out and touched the spot where (Y/n) had kissed him.
"ISAGI!!"

Rewrite The Stars
Chapter One
Summary: One photo changes your whole life, when you accidentally bump into a celebrity and the world starts to believe that you are a couple.
preview chapter two
The night ends up being good, taking away the pain in your head that doesn't seem to go away. Serving at Pedro Pascal's table is much calmer than you thought it would be. You just need to control yourself so you don't ask for an autograph or over-treat him. Oscar Isaac is also here, having dinner with him. You believe they are just friends having dinner together but you don't want to assume anything.
"I don't know what you did, but the manager is calling you. And I'm telling you, he's in a horrible mood." Your coworker speaks close to your ear and you feel butterflies in your stomach. It can only be about the incident with Pascal. You prepare to hear some nonsense.
"If I don't get out of there in five minutes, rescue me. I feel like even my third generation will be insulted today." You say looking at your colleague as if you know you got screwed. She nods her head positively with a look of empathy. You head towards your manager who is standing near the back door, right where the whole incident happened. You're officially screwed.
"Can you explain to me how you cause an accident with a celebrity on the same day that I made it clear that nothing could go wrong?" Your manager says, while you are confused.
"Sir, as much as it seems like it wasn't me who caused the accident. It was a coincidence, nothing more than that." You speak softly, trying to stay calm.
"There are no coincidences in the world of customer service. This is a renowned restaurant, not a corner diner. My team must be impeccable. Your mediocrity offends me to the point that I won't even ask for your advance notice. Remove your things from my establishment and go to HR as soon as possible." Your former manager speaks, with a tone of contempt.
"You are being unfair, I did my best to carry out my tasks with mastery." You speak almost out of despair. This job is all you have.
"What I am or am not is none of your business. Oh, and don't use this work as a reference, I will make it my personal goal to ruin any job opportunity you have." It was at that moment that his emotional shock turned to anger. Resigning is bad, but getting in the way of having another job is too much.
"So if I have nothing left to lose, I'm going to take this opportunity to be very realistic." You speak losing the last bit of control you have over yourself.
"And what are you going to do about it?” He asks, almost mocking your face. You then take the jug of orange juice and throw it at his head.
"If you'll excuse me, I'll leave with the rest of my dignity." You say, turning around and noticing that people in the restaurant have noticed your disagreement with the manager. Everyone's eyes were on the situation you had just been in and you felt embarrassed. You even wondered where Mr. Pascal was, since you hadn't seen him.
"Are you looking for me?" Mr. Pascal speaks behind you, and you jump discretely scared.
"Do you have a habit of surprising others unexpectedly?" You say, composing yourself and walking towards the employee area. Surprisingly Mr. Pascal accompanies you.
"It's not a habit of mine but I think it's happening a lot when it comes to our dates with each other. I apologize if I'm being intrusive." Mr. Pascal speaks sincerely in your tone of voice.
"You don't need to apologize, I may have been rude. This night suddenly turned into chaos." You say it, trying to be as subtle as possible, but the truth is that you're screwed and you can't even hide it.
"I witnessed the scene with your old boss. I must say that despite the waste of a beautiful orange juice, he deserved every drop of that juice." Mr. Pascal speaks, almost containing his laughter, and you feel happy to amuse someone that night.
"Do you need anything, I still work here until I take off my uniform." You say, imagining that he followed you because he needed something.
"Actually, I came to give you something. I know it doesn't make up for your dismissal but I think you You deserve it for your effort." He hands you a piece of paper, more specifically a check.
"Sir. No need to give me a check for the inconvenience, seriously. At the end of the day, this job wasn't the best." You say, trying to return the check but Mr. Pascal doesn't accept it.
"Take it as a tip for causing all this and for you getting fired because of me." Mr. Pascal says, forcing the check into my hands. You smile thinking that you are incredibly lucky of being in the presence of a celebrity that you like but that your boss made you feel as if you were insignificant.
"Thank you, sir. It was an honor to meet you." You say, taking the check and putting it on your uniform, not seeing the amount or anything. Mr. Pascal takes your hand lightly and you feel as if the world stops for that split second in which he held your hand.
"It was my pleasure, I hope that if we meet again, your life will be in a better situation." Mr. Pascal speaks with an unusual kindness, his smile could light up a village but you could only focus on the fact that he was lightly holding your hand. Your hand in his and his hand in yours.
"Good evening, Mr. Pascal." You say it as soon as you can come to your senses. He nods as if accepting my goodnight and then he returns to his table. And you return to your reality.

Could you do an Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland body swap
Friendly neighborhood Peter
Andrew P.OV.
We have just finished the last of the promon pictures for our new upcoming movie for Marvel. What a great and nostalgic ride that was. It has been years since I last wore this costume on set and I have to say I miss it. It makes me sad that some stupid conflict many years ago ended our third movie, which could've been amazing.
Tobey has left to meet with Kirsten. Me and Tom were left alone together to chat about our lives. What a great kid, he's so talented. It's hard for me to admit that, but I envy him. The attention is nice, I won't deny that, but I just loved making those movies. I would do anything to trade with him. Does that sound mad? Sorry. Another daydreaming episode. I have to think about my own life again now.
Tom's P.O.V.
I want to stay here and talk to Andrew about acting and working as an actor for the role of Spider-man. I truly do. But I am already nervous about all the paparazzi out there. Recently they have made my life horrible. I haven't had privacy for years. I am proud for the movies and the work we all have put into them, but the other side of this is just exhausting. Andrew says, that I should enjoy it while it last, that fame fades out and the work eventually gets finished. Maybe it's too selfish at this point, but I would like it to end. I would do anything to trade with Andrew and have a kind of life he has.
The two "Peter Parkers" had no idea what it meant for them that night. Just a stupid simple wish at the back of their head. Well, someone is lucky today.
Tom's P.O.V.
Either this is a very bizarre dream or someone did a very elaborate prank on me. I am looking at Andrew. But I am looking in the mirror, where usually my reflection stares back at me. How is this even possible?
I calm down and after a while I get out of bed. I am in Andrew's apartement. His place looks nice, neat, surprisingly. I take off a shirt and put it on. While sliding it on my new torso. I notice my new biceps. Damn, Andrew, you're not so bad. I thought you gave up body-building. But this is quite nice.
The exploring didn't stop there. I dropped my or (Andrew's?) boxers to get a nice view. I was welcomed by a hairy co 7 inch long dick. Not bad again Andrew. I started to jerk it. While enjoying the body of a 40 year old in a great shape, some woman came into the room and with no expression just said:"If you wanna come to the premiere you gotta speed up and get dressed. Be ready in 30"
Oh shit. Was that his girlfriend? Or maybe a manager. I don't know what is worse. The indifference or the fact she saw me like this.
I might have some explaining to do when I see Andrew in my body at the premiere.
Andrew's P.O.V.
What was weirder, I didn't recognize my body. I had bigger muscles, lean chest and nice 6 pack. I could even feel the stench of a younger body. Even my skin was visible younger.
I got up from the bed to find out that this body sleeps naked in bed.
I went to the nearest mirror. Holy shit. It's Tom
I was shocked at first, but then I remembered what I thought about last night. Maybe, this is a way from the universe to show me if I truly hate my life or if this is the life for me.
I went back to bed to rest. Well... maybe not rest, but whatever. It's nobody's bussiness how many times I have jerked off Tom's dick. It's also nobody's bussiness to ask how long was I in the shower afterwards and if the scream were of pain or pleasure
Shit. I love Tom's style. His wardrobe is filled with such nice clothes. I don't even know what to pick. Even showing of his abs looks amazingly stylish
Andrew and Tom bumped into each other right in front of the journalists.
"How you feeling man?"
"Young! And the best I have felt in years. Your body was a nice surprise. How are you holding on?"
"Well, I have to say that I can't complain either. I mean, you have a much more calmer life than I do. Wouldn't mind if we had this for a few weeks."
"Oh, I don't think I would mind either. It would be an honor for me to take care of your life Tom"
"Don't call me like that now, TOM! People might think you're on drugs. Haha. And yeah, let's make it a deal. We don't even know how to swap back, but when we do find out we swap back on our own terms. Deal?"
"Deal!"
The two of them embraced each other in a hug and laughed about it
This couldn't have worked out better for the two of them

A Bang Chan FF (content warning 18+!!) (smut)
Whipped For You
Chapter 8: Thunderous
Chan POV:
Last night...was amazing. I wasn't expecting her to go through with it. But after the first time we relaxed into each other touch, enjoying the nice company until I felt my cum dripping down my leg. Until the opportunity to do something I've never done before but I knew she would LOVE.
I went down to her heat and licked her out. My cum and her juiced in my mouth i kissed her the moans she made made me rock hard again and we fucked for a second time. This time rougher than the last. Honestly it felt like I was in heaven.
I got ready to go to work. I checked my phone. No missed calls or messages. I change into my clothes and leave Y/N in peace. I left her a note I didn't want to leave without saying anything. It felt nice to finally have that time with her. That special moment. It was perfect. I wanted more. I wanted her.
I got to the office where the boys were sitting outside my office "what's up? You all look constipated?"
"Hyung you've not seen the articles have you?"
"What do you mean Changbin?"
He have me his phone. My "fiancé" posted another stupid article about me sleeping around. Not coming home when asked. Yet she can have a boyfriend and no one bats an eye. I get a text from Y/N.
"You told me she wouldn't care! You told me she wouldn't bat an eye. Wtf is this!?"
"Y/N calm down. I'll fix it"
"I knew we shouldn't have spent the night together. She's gonna kill me."
"She won't."
"I don't believe you."
"CHAN! Dude. Stop texting and listen. Where did you go last night if you didn't go home?"
"I was home"
"Chan you're in the same clothes as last night. You're bad at lying"
"Okay this doesn't go anywhere else but here okay...? Can we got one do your offices. I don't trust mine to be safe "
We go to Lee Knows office. They all sit down staring me. "Don't freak out. I was with Y/N last night."
"I KNEW IT!" Seungmin and Hyunjin cried.
"MY SISTER!?" Lee know pointed out. Not shocked but still grossed out.
"Lee know Hyung! WHAT!?"
"That's a story for another time. We can circle back. Chan are you serious did you..."
"Yes we had sex. Last night and this morning. Please keep this between us I don't want PDnim getting involved. See how she found out and is posting it everywhere however she doesn't say WHO I was with. Still. Please. Can we find a way to shut these articles down? I need to call my father. I have little over 6 months to avoid marriage. I need your help to make it happen. Me and Y/N. Can you do that?"
"Hyung we aren't a match making service. What the fuck are we meant to do?"
"Report articles to stay this ain't true.
Do them to but if there's loads of us doing that it'll get the message across that she's spitting fake news. Though it's not but it's not the point. I want my relationship with Y/N to be private. Okay?"
"Yes Hyung" they shout. Ready to battle.
*a few hours later.*
Author POV:
After a few hours the guys as a collective managed to come up with articles that were good enough to divert the claims on Chan and aiming at his soon be to wife. Chan's father was livid at her. Not at him. He was very happy that he found someone after trying for so many years.
Which is weird since he was the one to make them get married in the first place. Anyways. Chan texts Y/N about the news.
*Chans text:*
Chan-ah: hey babygirl. It's okay we have worked things out. So no need to stress okay? I'm sorry for scaring you and upsetting you. Please don't hate me.
Babygirl:
Hey Daddy, it's okay im calmer now
*sends a naughty pic to Chan*
It's a shame Daddy has to work all day when im at home looking like this hmmm?
Chan-ah: ohhh Babygirl. You can't do that. You can't tease Daddy like that. Remember bad girls get punished.
He was enjoying how confident she was all of a sudden. He secretly wanted more but wouldn't be able to control his pants situation if it did continue. Chan was deep in though when his soon to be wife calls him...
"Take those articles down. Right now Chan!"
"You're the one who's been boasting about a fake relationship I seem to be having. Which by the way thanks for the heads up I didn't know I was in some sort of relationship with another woman! *he lies* seriously. You have a boyfriend. You have your person why are you making this difficult for me. You know if I don't find someone we still get married. We don't want that do we!?"
"No you don't want that but I still do!"
"What why!?"
"Why do you think Chan? Don't worry it's not out of love. Ewww. I don't love you like that."
"For the money?"
"Wow Daddy's boy is smart! Yes dumbass. I want the money. Then get an emolument and go out septet ways"
"You didn't read the contract huh? It says we cannot split up. No matter what. If we are married to to each other till death parts us."
"I don't want that."
"Me neither. So cut the crap and stop messing with my life. Please."
"Okay fine but if you piss me off I will come down on you like s tone of bricks. Got that?"
"Yes sure now please im working."
He hangs up. He looks at his phone 20 messages from Y/N. All photos and videos of her. Captions saying "Daddy's not here to play so I guess I have to myself."
"Daddy's not answering me"
So on and so forth. Chan runs to the toilet and watches the videos of you. Playing with yourself. Screaming his name. The moans. It was all so hot. Too hot infact. It was getting to lunch time and chan had the perfect plan.
He calmly walks out managing to hide his bulging erection. "Hey guys I'm gonna go home and get changed into more appropriate clothes. I'll see you after lunch?"
They nodd. They knew exactly where he was going. And it wasn't home.

Gluing the broken glass
(Tell me what to do to make it all feel better)
Mirabel had never cooked for such a big fiesta before. No, there were celebrations, often including the whole village. But usually, it didn't have such importance, unlike the gift ceremony. And, obviously, Mirabel hadn't cooked for a one ever before. The last gift ceremony was hers, and no one would know about her wonderful healing abilities that she would get. The other ceremonies that Mirabel lived through were Camilo's and Luisa's, but the latter didn't really count, taking into account that Mirabel was about eight months old at the time. So she was somehow excited. Mirabel made sure to create the best table for tonight.
The old stove sizzled as Mirabel placed another portion to bake, then she ran off to place the aborrajados in a decorative way. It wasn't any normal meal, so arrangements must be appropriate for the occasion. Then Mirabel got back to cooking for a bit; there were still a lot of repast she had to make until the evening.
"Mi amor, how are you doing?" Mirabel looked up and saw her mom standing next to the pedestal table. "It seems like a lot of work..." Mirabel just nodded, not looking up from the dough she was kneading at the moment. "It's good; I should make it in time." She rubbed her hands against her apron before getting back to the kitchener and turning the baked goods over.
"Don't push yourself too hard," Julieta asked, putting her hand on her daughter's shoulder. "I know you want to help, but you have to take care of yourself."
The girl just sighed, looking up at her mother for a bit. "I know, mama, I promise I'm doing great." Maybe she was tired a bit, but the thoughts of Antonio finally getting his door were enough to shave her tiredness off. In a way, this ceremony was way calmer than Mirabel's ten years before, as far as she could remember it. After all, she was the younger sister of a giftless Isabela, so there were questions about her getting a gift, even despite the fact that Luisa already had one. Antonio was in a better position. And, after four gifted grandkids, everyone just assumed that Isabela was a strange mishap, for whatever the reason. Abuela herself had always been saying that Isabela was just like she was. In a way, Mirabel felt bitter. Abuela was spending almost all her attention on Isabela, despite the lack of a gift. And, probably just to add herself even more attention, Isabela was always dressing the same way Abuela did in her youth.
Julieta took a place next to her, now helping with the cooking. Mirabel smiled kindly but still spoke out. "You don't have to help; I can do this." Having somebody to share the work with was a nice feeling, but Mirabel wasn't a child.
"She's right, Mija," Agústin interrupted them. Mirabel looked up at her father and let out an exhausted groan, seeing another dose of swollen bee stings on his face.
"Papi...." She sighed, taking one of her fresh-baked pandebonos and passing it to him.
"No, don't worry, I can take the rest of the menu on myself!" Agustin announced this after he finished his healing. Julieta and Mirabel looked at each other, knowing how bad of an idea this would be.
-
After what seemed to be hours, Julieta managed to convince Mirabel out of the kitchen for ten minutes. She agreed to that, mainly because she wanted to see preparations in her own eyes. The patio was filled with people, decorating it, placing benches for the elderly, and just generally trying to help. Mirabel paced a bit faster, as she saw Isabela with a notebook, she most likely was leading the process again when Abuela got distracted. Honestly, Mirabel didn't want to do this in front of her sister at all. Still, a stinging jealousy pinched her heart. Isabela was most certainly the favorite among the grandkids, despite the lack of a gift. Mirabel never quite understood why. The only thing she actually knew about her big sister is that she was usually with Abuela. And Mirabel had been busy with her cooking, trying to do her best to help.
Her thoughts were drowned in the townspeople's noises, and Mirabel didn't want to get struck with dozens of questions that she couldn't even answer to. So she walked upstairs, where the amount of people was smaller. Casita usually didn't allow outsiders on the second floor. From far away, she could already see Luisa's big figure standing in front of Mirabel's door, covering her carved picture. Noticing Abuela took a bit more time.
"Where's Osvaldo? He promised to deliver the rest of the decor half an hour ago."
Luisa pursed her lips, looking to the side. Her face muscles were strained a little as she filtered out the sound she needed. "He's almost here." She'd finally breathed out, turning her attention back to Abuela.
Their grandmother sighed harshly. "You needed to check on him once he didn't come in time." Mirabel bit her lip awkwardly; she knew that Abuela was strict and always demanded to do their best all the time. Luisa just nodded wordlessly before turning her attention to her younger sibling, who was standing on the other side of the second floor. "Hermanita, do you need anything?"
Mirabel winced; even she sometimes tended to forget that there was nothing that could hide from Luisa's cat-like hearing.
Abuela looked at her as well, finally noticing the fact that she had been spied on for a while. "Mirabel, why aren't you in the kitchen? You have to prepare for the night." She demanded, now staring at her across the patio. Mirabel looked down, clutching the railing tightly. She didn't mean to get distracted; Mom just wanted to do some cooking as well. "I'm sorry, Abuela; I decided to go out for some fresh air. Mama is replacing me right now." She knew it didn't excuse her, but at least it was some reason to slack off on her chores.
Luisa tilted her head before nodding in confirmation that it was true and that their mom was, in fact, in the kitchen instead of her youngest daughter right now.
For a moment, Mirabel looked down, not looking at her hermana and Abuela. "Is there anyone who would miss the ceremony?" If anyone didn't come, the amount of food would be slightly less, so Mirabel wanted to be sure of who would be at the party.
Luisa bit her lip for a second before replying. "Not as I know about." Mirabel tilted her head from the echoing voice. Why wouldn't Luisa know who wouldn't come? Mirabel was pretty sure Luisa could hear who had mentioned this. On the other hand, there's a chance nobody said it out loud, and Luisa was most certainly unable to listen to the inner thoughts. Well, it seemed that Mirabel would have to make her full plan.
Abuela lifted her head to look over Luisa. "Check if everything is going on time. Tonight must be perfect."
Luisa nodded, just like she always did at any request. "I'm..." Mirabel knew that her sister would most certainly going to say that she was on it, but she had suddenly trail off, wincing before she had covered her ears, hunching over the handrailing.
A moment later, Tía Pepa rushed upstairs like a crazy wind. The floor almost shook from her footsteps. Or it actually did. It was loud enough even for Mirabel to startle for a moment, not even mentioning Luisa, who didn't say anything but looked at Pepa with a face that said that she would gladly rip off Tia's legs to make her quieter.
Tia Pepa muttered in a yelling tone of voice, visibly trembling. "Tonight must be perfect, but if it's not perfect, then..."
"Mi amor, be careful." Tío Felix ran after her.
A second later, Dolores had gotten upstairs too, joining this little family meeting. "Oh, mama, don't worry. Antonio will definitely get the best gift ever." The warm couple looked at their daughter, who waved her head slightly, creating another ark of flowers that wrapped around the barrier. Pepa looked down at her child, now running to her. "Ah, how much did you grow up!" She mumbled in awe, squeezing Dolores' cheek slightly. "Mama, please..."
Mirabel looked at the other side and noticed that Luisa was gone already. Alright, it was probably time for her to get back to work as well. There was a whole night ahead.

Embry Call imagine - Newborn fight
I was stressed to say the least. I tried not to show it but it was a wasted effort because I was, according to him, an open book. I know fighting vampires was in his nature but we were talking about a newborn army here. Everything was ready for tomorrow as Embry said. He had to patrol all the night and would go on “the battlefield” right after. I would have loved to spend the night with him, but Sam had other plans. For my safety he said, I would sleep at his house and spend the day with Emily, Sam’s fiancée.
I therefore came to the res after school to spend the beginning of the evening with Embry. He tried to make me eat something but I couldn’t eat anything. I wasn’t sleeping either by the way.
If we were touchy normally, it was on another level right now. I wasn’t leaving him out of my sight, which made the others laugh. Especially the ones who already haven’t imprinted because Emily was feeling just the same as me, but she somehow managed to hide it better than me.
Once in his room, we came on his bed. I literally lied on him and laid my head on the crook of his neck. He put his hands on my back and softly stroked it. It usually made me calmer, but everything was really working these days.
“ If you think I’ll fall asleep, you are making a huge mistake.
I retorted, moving my head upwards so that I can look him in the eye.
At least I tried, he said laughing
This is not funny. I won’t eat or sleep until this is all over
Don’t worry, I already told you everything will be alright. He kissed my temple as a way to calm me down, but I was having none of it.
You don’t know that.
They don’t even know we exist, it will be a piece of cake.”
I looked away, terrible images worthy of my worst nightmares came back up and I wouldn’t help but think of the worst.
“ Eh Y/N, look at me.
He had to take my chin in his fingers so that we could look at eachother again. A traitorous tear rolled alongside my cheek.
“ Don’t cry my love. I hate seeing you like this. Nothing will happen to me.”
I felt bad for crying in front of him and showing my weaknesses but, the possibility of losing him was absolutely inconceivable.
I sighed before responding
“ I couldn't bear it if anything happened to you. I can’t live without you, you know it. It’s impossible. I…”
I didn’t have the time to finish my sentence as he crashed his warm and soft lips upon mine. I knew he was trying to convince me through the kiss what he couldn’t do with words. My hands instinctively went around his neck to deepen the kiss, meanwhile he had one hand on my waist and the other stroking my cheek. I was assaulting him with neck and jaw kisses as he was repositioning him under me. I ended up on his knees and kissed him as if my life depended on it.
He did something I wasn’t expecting given our current situation. He took me in his arms and cuddled me, not letting me go. He even rocked me, to calm me down probably. I sighed. God knows how I wanted to stop time and stay like this forever. The only perceptible sounds in the room were our soft breathings and the beating of our hearts. I listened to this melody, my head on his chest. He from time to time placed kisses on my hair or along my ear. I laughed at every ticklish sensation that procured his gesture.
All of a sudden, Embry got up and I immediately knew the boys were picking him up. We both grunted in annoyance and the concern that faded got back up. I tensed and did my best to tackle him, for him not to move. He laughed at my poor and childish attempt to keep him captive in his own room. He would have stayed here, I knew that. He got up, carrying me at the same time. I looked like a mole on his rock. He whispered a short “ wait two minutes” and put me on the ground but I quickly hugged him and I held myself back from crying again in front of him. I would let the tears fall for my upcoming sleepless night.
“ I’ve got to go. Try to get some sleep and remember that nothing will happen to me or the others and I will come back to you in one piece. Stay on the res territory with Emily okay ?
I only managed a nod and succeeded to say a barely audible “I love you” as much as my throat had a lump.
“ I love you more than anything Y/N. And don’t say it as a farewell or something. It’s going to be fine”.
He kissed me again and looked at me with a stain of apprehension on his features.
“ I will see you tomorrow at Emily’s” And with that he disappeared through the window.
There was no need to say that I haven’t got a wink of sleep. I waited for the sun to rise, curled up in a ball trying not to think of what was going to happen a few miles from here. When I thought it was reasonable, I went to Emily's. That walk on the snowy path, as short as it was, refreshed me and cleared my mind a bit. She was cooking when I arrived. I helped her the best I could in silence. Keeping our hands busy helped us keep our mind focused on something else other than the fight that was currently happening. Even though she did her best to hide it, I knew she worried about Sam, as strong as he was. The morning passed slowly. My left hand was all beat up because of my habit of pulling off my skin around my nails.
I might have not been a wolf, but some sort of a sixth sense made me feel that something was wrong by the sudden and piercing pain I felt in my heart. I never felt something like it. It was at that exact moment I knew something happened to him and I was terribly sure he had been hurt. Tears started to run as my friend tried to make me breathe calmly.
“ He’s hurt” I managed to say even if I was sure she got it.
The boys stoppe my pace up and down in front of the house when they emerged behind the trees, running. Emily and Sam met up quickly and hugged each other so tightly. As I feared, Embry was not here to be seen, which only confirmed my fears. Quil told me he has been hurt by a vampire and that he was currently at Billy’s house, the doctor looking after him. I’ve never run faster in my life than in his instant. As I got closer I heard a terrible scream inside the Black’s house. I froze in place. I was a few meters aways from the door but I was unable to move. Jacob tugged me by the arm to make me move and said when his anxious eyes met mine.
“ He has all of his bones on the right side broken. Carlisle is treating him”.
I swallowed hard, incapable of articulating the least sound. Before I could hear another scream that would have made me pass out, I took a deep breath and entered the room.
Embry, laid on his back, his body covered in sweat, eyes closed and left fist clenched. Tears were rolling down my cheeks and I whimpered seeing him like this. I quickly made my way at his side and held his right hand. He murmured my name but I shushed him.
“ Shush my love, keep your strength”
I kissed his forehead and Carlisle, who stopped his medical care when I stormed in the room, got back to work not without having looked at us before.
After what seemed like an eternity, Dr Cullen told us everything was taken care of and he would come back later in the night to give some morphine. The pack came to see him in small groups but I never left his side, holding his hand. He woke up an after the doctor left and feeling himself able to speak he said
“ I am sorry for not keeping my promise
Shush my love, what matters is that you’re alive. I said, stroking his cheek
However, never do that to me again. Never. I almost had an attack.
No more fights with newborns,noted.
No more fights at all. I don’t think I would support being apart from you like yesterday”
He tried to get up in order to sit but the pain stopped him. He therefore took me by the arm to made me lay down next to him.
“ Why didn't you lay down before ?
I was afraid of moving and hurting you.
I am strong, remember.
Yeah Mr Muscle. Get back to sleep. I told him smiling
Thank you for everything Y/N. I love you
Love you to Em’.”

just my little interpretation of what happens directly after Hollow Mind, I was in a writing mood lol
Hunter hadn't processed the information he had just uncovered until he was laying there in the owl house, surrounded by fugitives and outlaws. No. Equals now. Belos knew he had been in his mind. And compared on his reaction Hunter couldn't go back now... his breathe started getting rapid as thoughts flooded his mind faster than he could manage them, scrambling back from the owl lady. His vision was blurring at the edges, all sounds except his heart pounding seeming to muffle. Eda seemed to say something, but he couldn't make out what she had said. He stood up, looking for an escape. *this stupid cape! Worthless! It always has been!* his mind hissed as he tore the cape off his back and threw it furiously onto the floor. Then he bolted out the owl house like he was being chased by a slitherbeast. "Hunter!" He could just make out. Luz's voice. Sweet, innocent Luz. Why had she trusted him. Ever. Why did she save him in the end? Even after figuring out he... wasn't even real... he tore through the forest, wanting nothing more than to pass out onto the cold mossy soil and have all his thoughts be taken away. But they just kept coming, so much at once, too much at once. He could feel branches from the trees furiously whipping at his skin. Hunter's foot got trapped on a root and he went tumbling forward onto the floor. Sharp small pinprickles of pain started tearing through his skin. Hunter could hardly think straight, so instead of observing what was causing the pain or tending to his newly scraped up knee, blood starting to collect, he pushed himself up with a grunt and started trudging through the forest once more. His breathe was rough and fast, and his pace was starting to slow. There was nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. He felt a sudden yank at the strand of hair over his face, a familiar red Cardinal seemingly worried. Hunter glanced around cautiously before sitting down under a large tree, holding Flapjack in his hands as tears trickled down from his eyes onto the forest floor. His entire life was a lie. Everything he had worked for. And if that wasn't bad enough he was just some expendable clone! He felt a gentle peck at the knee he had hugged to his chest. Flapjack was perched on his knee, a piece of bright green torn cloth in his mouth. Hunter, starting to steady his breathing, took to cloth in his hands. 'Emerald Entrails' it read. The only place he had felt truly accepted for who he was, not hiding under some mask. Hexside. That was it! He couldn't go back to the palace... and the owl lady had seen him so vulnerable there was no way he was going back. But there... he could hide out, sneak food, it wouldn't be very honorable but it would work, at least for the time being. The small prickly pain across his bare skin seemed to be getting a bit red. He must have fallen on some sort of venomous plant... and here in the boiling isles you never know what that will do to you. Hunter stood up, holding Flapjack in front of him. "Hey, would you mind leading me to Hexside? I think we could stay there for now... until I figure this out, of course" he said quietly to the bird, who chirped back, then took off into the air a moment, before grabbing onto his hair and dragging him a few steps in the right direction. "T-thank you, Flap" he muttered, walking in that direction, much calmer, and definitely not limping a bit from tripping. He peeked out from the trees to see the massive school. *alright Hunter. You'll have plenty of time to have identity crisis's in there. Just prioritize finding a safe place first and you'll be fine* he thought, sneaking over to a window around the side of the school and opening it up quietly. *your situation still won't affect how the others should respect you. Remember that. As long as they don't know, I mean* he thought, pulling himself up into the window and climbing on into the school.

Part 2 for Spill - Elorcan
not the best, but is the fastest i’ve written something in a while so we are going to go with it...
...
The truck broke down twenty miles outside of the city. Her phone was about to die. She had no water. And it was the peak of summer so the sun beat relentlessly down upon her. It was safe to say that Elide was not having a very, very, bad day.
She’d just wanted an escape. It get out, to get away. And this sorry excuse of a car was not helping.
As Elide thumbed through her phone she fought back another curse. She couldn’t call Aelin because she would want to talk. Lysandra was on a weekend getaway with Aedion. Manon would propose murder. There was no one she could call except…
As her low battery flashed, Elide made a call.
“It’s Lorcan,” the low voice on the other end answered.
Elide swallowed stiffly trying to ignore the way her heart fluttered at his voice. “Hey, it’s me, could you do me a favor?”
“Elide?” There was a small thump followed by a curse. “Hell. Sorry. What’s up?”
“My phone’s about to die, can you just come pick me up?” She said quickly.
“Yeah. Are you okay?” The question brought tears to her eyes and Elide shoved them back.
“I’m at mile marker fifty-six, on the old Terrasen Highway headed south,” she told him.
“I’ll be right there.”
The call ended and Elide shut her eyes as she waited.
…
Lorcan may have sped. A lot.
When he saw Elide’s truck on the side of the road he pulled off just behind her. He’d been at the gym when she called, trying to work off some steam over the last few weeks. Ever since Elide had gotten a new boyfriend, he hadn’t been able to manage his emotions very well. Whatever he felt for Elide--it wasn’t friendship. No, he’d passed friendship by after six minutes of knowing her. Now, two years later, it was full blown infatuation.
He’d never told her about how he felt. Never tried. Because he wasn’t the kind of guy women like Elide went for. He was a bastard. He was rough, cold. He’d dropped out of college for the military only to return even more broken than before. She deserved better.
So he watched her date. And then Ress came around and that just made things worse.
Lorcan got out of his car and headed over to Elide who was seated on the tailgate of her truck, staring back at the old road that led out of the city. This highway wasn’t used for main city travel leaving it calmer and less traffic heavy.
Without a word, Lorcan took a seat beside her. He knew this stare. He’d done it himself several times too. It was the kind that was endless and soul searching and…well, there was something intimate about it that held the world.
Elide let out a long breath that trembled just enough for Lorcan to know how upset she was.
“Elide,” he began, hesitantly reaching out to take her hand.
She accepted the gesture, her small hand fitting perfectly with his. Her pale skin contrasted with his tan, the flawless smooth pattern of it was soft against his callouses. Different. Incompatible.
“I don’t know why it matters,” she told him. Her dark hair was in a messy bun, her make-up smeared just a little beneath her eyes. “I didn’t even like him anyways. Not that much. But it was nice to have someone.”
Her words were soft, almost carried away by an old toyota putting along. They affected him all the same though.
“You deserve better than him,” Lorcan said, “he’s an ass.”
If anything Aelin had told him. That woman gossiped like no other and enjoyed stirring up trouble. She was also a strangely affectionate drunk--in her own way--where when he’d let slip that he had a crush on Elide, she’d immediately teased him. Aelin had also told him to shoot his shot. Affectionate and terribly illiterate drunk.
“You didn’t even know Ress.” Elide let out a harsh chuckle and wiped her eyes with her hand.
“He made you cry,” he replied with a shrug, “that’s enough grounds to call him a bastard too.”
She leaned against him and shook her head. “Everythings so black and white for you, eh?”
“Only some things,” he said.
Elide looked up at him, drawing his attention down to her. Her dark eyes gleamed with unshed tears and something else that he couldn’t quite read. She’d always been beautiful to him. The soft lines of her face, full lips, and intense brown eyes. She was passionate, strong-willed, and cunning. There had always been something about her that drew him in time and time again. He would be a fool to try and fall into her though the way he wanted to.
“He told me I’m too bitchy. And competitive.” Elide said. “I think that was because I kept beating him at poker though.”
“Like I said, he’s an ass. Besides, I like that you’re good at poker.”
That got a full laugh out of her. She threw her head back and cackled, gripping his hand tighter.
“You would say that,” she said. Smirking, she swung her legs lights letting them sway lazily.
“It’s true,” he insisted, “you take all the money on the table then buy me drinks on the side. It’s the perfect system.”
The way she rolled her eyes and still clung to his hand did stupid things to his head and heart. This was dangerous for him. Spending too much time with her or teasing with her like this blurred lines that shouldn’t be explored. It was enough to get him to pull away and jump off the back of the truck.
“C’mon,” he said, “I’ll make Fen come out and get your car later.”
Elide watched him for one long minute before hopping down from the car. But she didn’t walk to his car. She stepped up close to him, her small frame somehow more intimidating as she put her hands on her hips.
“Are you walking away from me?”
Hell. “No.”
“Yes you are.”
Lorcan tried to brush past her to get to his car but she grabbed his arm and kept him where he was. He couldn’t do this. Not now. Not when she and Ress had broken up only two days ago and she was obviously still reeling from it. Her jaw was set as she held him there and Lorcan knew he wouldn’t get away with this.
“Can we not stand on the side of the road where anyone can run us over?” He grumbled, looking away from her.
“You’re not telling me something,” she insisted.
“It doesn’t matter, Elide,” he said.
“I think it does.”
Another staring contest.
“Lorcan,” she said.
And then he did something he’d regret. Something that would make everything worse. He kissed her.
There on the side of the road in the heat of the summer with enough chaos around them--Lorcan did the one thing he’d thought about for two years. It was reckless and stupid and would bite him in the ass later, but he didn’t care.
Not as he dug his fingers into her waist and felt the soft pull of her lips. And certainly not when she wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing him closer.
He didn’t know how long they remained there. But when they finally broke apart, Elide didn’t let him go very far. She pressed her forehead to his, looked deep into his eyes, a small smile curling on her lips.
“Elide,” he murmured, hardly daring to speak louder.
“Kiss me again,” she demanded.
And Lorcan, already head over heels devoted to her, obliged.

TW: mentions of language, anger management, violence, name calling
--
Mikey
Just like Mikey, you would like to give others nicknames rather than call them by their actual name. However, while the blond would simply add '-chin' at the end of names or change the way it's said, you would create these nicknames by either how annoying they were to you or if you were friends, by their features.
You were like a firecracker. Short fuse and when it was lit, you were explosive in both your words and actions. Many of Toman had learnt this the hard way. Especially poor Baji. He had made a comment that had set you off, next thing he knew he was facing the sky as Draken and Mikey were holding you back. Never again did he make the mistake of saying something that would upset you.
While you were usually OK if not provoked, there were times when you couldn't hold back. This was especially true when it came down to fights. Even the Invincible Mikey knew to not get too close during these moments. After all, he had witnessed what happened to those that had.
You would be the loudest and most explosive on that entire battlefield. It was intimidating for the rival gang when you had gotten into the zone. Yells of you telling all those 'extras' to get out of your way, with each punch you would scream out for them to 'die'. Yep, the others are going to get as far away from you as possible.
Would be back to your calm self after letting all your frustrations out. This is what surprises your boyfriend the most. You could be yelling at people to die as you punched them only to become sweet and innocent afterwards. It did remind him to never provoke you to the point of you losing it.
Draken
No one could understand how Draken had ended up with someone as arrogant as you. You made it no secret that you believed in your skills as a fighter, even looking down on others you deemed too weak.
However, this was mainly to make sure others knew that you should be taken seriously. Being a girl in a gang, especially the girlfriend of the Vice Captain, had others looking down on you all the time. You were strong on your own merits. You didn't need to be dating Draken to get people to notice this.
Most of the time, you were pretty calm and people felt they could approach you without any harm coming towards them. After all, you were actually a nice person under all that harsh exterior. But they still made sure to watch what they said around you, remembering how short your fuse was.
When you snapped, the person who got you to that point best start praying for their life or running as far away as they could. You were known to be quite agile when it came to fights and this would be no exception. A swift punch to their face followed by you yelling for them to 'die you shitty extra'!
Ken would never admit it but you terrified him when you got like this. After all, he was the Vice Captain to one of the strongest delinquent gangs in Tokyo. He shouldn't be scared of a girl that was shorter than him. People reminded him that he could stop you by picking you up. Draken knew this wouldn't do anyone any good.
"Ken-ny, you not going to stop her?" Mikey asked, appearing at the side of the taller blond while munching on his dorayaki. Draken just sighed before explaining that he couldn't. In fact, he doesn't even believe that Mikey could stop you when you got like this. The best course of action was to just let you have your fill so you could calm down.
The poor boy who had lit your fuse was now lying black and blue on the ground, blood pouring out of his now-broken nose. You simply blew a strand of hair from your face before making your way to your boyfriend, not wanting to talk about the incident.
Mitsuya
Being a pacifist, Mitsuya didn't agree with how fast you would turn to violence when you lost your patience with somebody. After all, he was a firm believer in that most situations can be sorted by talking it through. So people were really shocked when it came to light you were dating.
You were both the complete opposites of each other in how you dealt with overwhelming stress. However, you both did make a great couple when it came to other aspects in the relationship. It's just people hardly saw that. And nobody seemed to remember that you were actually quite a calm person who just so happened to have a short fuse.
What seemed to set your fuse of the most is when others looked down on you or your boyfriend. People seemed to think that because he didn't actively fight those he had a disagreement with.
So when someone dared to talk smack about your beloved Takashi, you were not going to take it. And so, that is how Mitsuya was trying his best to hold you back as you were shouting and trying to kick out at the person that had made you angry.
"Let go of me, Takashi! I'm gonna rip that shitty nerd's arms off, that's all!" You may have been trying to convince your boyfriend to let you go but the threat of removing the arms of the boy was keeping him from doing so. Even the boy who had annoyed you had begun to feel scared for his safety and so chose this moment to walk away.
"Oi! Get back here you damn extra! I'll kill you!"
Mitsuya simply held you until you calmed down, softly shushing you as you yelled out more threats. But when you finally had calmed down enough, that was when Mitsuya would begin to lecture you on how violence and threats were uncalled for in situations like that. Although he would express his gratitude that you stood up for him.
Smiley
You both would get on so well together. Same energy and love for violence and threatening people. in fact, you both would tell each other "I'll kill you" (affectionately of course) when the other was being annoying. The best type of relationship.
You would definitely give Smiley a nickname that only you would call him. And Nahoya would reciprocate with his own nicknames he had for you. They would definitely just be affectionate insults.
When you would be on dates, Smiley would love how you muttered under your breath about all the extras and nerds that were getting in your way. Sometimes you may actually call them that to their face if it was a particularly bad day, scaring the poor souls at how aggressive you seemed.
Nahoya would ride his bike with you clinging to his back. You would both ride around Shibuya, speeding around corners just to feel that adrenaline high you both would crave. Sometimes you would both find yourselves in a fight against people that made fun of you both.
Smiley loved watching how intense you became. It was like a switch flipped in your mind, turning you into a small ball of pure rage. Shouts of 'DIE' could be heard throughout the streets of Shibuya as you delivered blow after blow against your opponent. This was when he knew you were perfect for each other.
Angry
You would remind Souya of a female Nahoya, just without the constant smile. No, instead you would usually appear unapproachable with your resting bitch face.
Angry would be the sweeter of the two brothers and so would do anything to keep you safe. But that was easier said than done. As you were a lot like Nahoya, you would get annoyed easily and quickly resort to violence.
The main reasons why you ended up In fights was to protect your cute boyfriend. One comment on how he looked stupid with his angry expression and the person was seeing stars. There was no way you could let someone get away with making stupid comments about Souya! These damn extras needed to learn their place in the world!
Your anger made your vision red. The word 'die' seemed to become a lot more frequent, to the point where your victim was beginning to genuinely fear for their life.
Souya had to grab your arm to get you to stop. He was scared that you could end up getting hurt or worse, you could end up going through with your threat. He didn't know what he would do if you ended up in juvenile detention. Especially if you could be there for 10 years.
"Please stop Y/N!" The fact his voice was so teary is what had snapped you from this rage-filled trance. Turning your attention to the blue haired Kawata, you got off the now unconscious boy and decided it would be best to continue your hang out in an attempt to calm down.
Ran
He would love how you had two sides to you. One side was calm yet arrogant, similar to his own, while the other side happened to be his favourite. You would explode and takedown a handful of gang members on your own.
Ran wouldn't admit it out loud to anyone but you, but he found the second side so hot. Maybe it was how you moved so elegantly as you dodged each punch before dealing your own? Or maybe it was the strength you used behind each throw you aimed towards your opponent? Either way, he thought you were a damn work of art.
It really didn't take a lot to get you to switch. However, you made sure not to explode when Ran or Rindo was testing your patience. You may have agility and strength but you were nothing against their combo. However, Ran would never hurt you and Rindo would only gently restrain your limbs. It would definitely be just to show you that you were not on their level.
You often followed the brothers when they were going to deal with gangs that tried to muscle in on Roppongi. That could not be forgiven. After all, Roppongi belongs to the Haitani brothers.
While the brothers were busy with the leaders, you would be left to take out the others. It would be a struggle but you could manage most of them.
"You damn extras need to learn not to take what doesn't belong to you!" Another one had fallen. This continued until Ran and Rindo finally dealt with the leaders. It was an obvious victory for the brothers.
"You look so hot splattered with blood, baby," he would whisper in your ear before leaning back and sending a wink. You rolled your eyes before starting the journey back to their home.
Rindo
You were like his own personal guard dog. Not that he needed one but he did appreciate how you were always there for him. In fact, he loved that you didn't view him as the weaker brother and instead saw his amazing combat strength. You had to keep reminding him that Ran couldn't actually use his baton as efficiently without Rindo locking them down.
He had yet to really see you in action as the 'explosive princess' people knew you as. It did bother him a little but he never did express this disappointment outwardly. After all, he was a Haitani brother and so had to keep up appearances. Especially if he wanted to be viewed as an equal with Ran.
It was as he was on a date with you one day that he saw the mysterious explosive side of you. And he totally wasn't prepared for it.
It started when a high schooler had approached you both, telling you how you should ditch a weakling like Rindo to be with him. Rindo was about to kill this boy for even trying to get you to leave him as well as to prove that he wasn't weak.
However, he was left speechless when you had thrown a punch into the boy's stomach, causing him to double over and drop to his knees. You used your boot to push him onto his back before starting your assault on his face.
'Who do you think you are, you shitty extra! My Rindo is a hell of a lot stronger than your weak ass! Now do me a favour and die already!" Even as you were talking, fists smashing into his face as blood exploded from his nose and lips.
Rindo could only watch, not knowing whether to be terrified of you or to find this whole display extremely hot. The blood that covered your fists was a sight he wished he could see more often.
Once you were satisfied that the lesson had been learnt, you stood up and dusted your clothes. "Let's continue our date babe!" And now you were back to being the calm and sweet girl Rindo knew best.

Broken promises
A/N: so... this is my first story I'm posting, so please don't be so hard on me hahaha... Constructive criticism is of course welcome! I'm working on a masterlist and other stories, so stay tuned if you'd like. I'm sorry if there are some logic and/or grammar mistakes - as I said, this is my first story. I hope you like it, have fun reading! See you soon :)
Pairing:young!Sirius Black x Reader
Genre:a lot of angst, a bit of fluff
Warnings:angst, family problems, relationship problems, jealousy.
Y/N felt bad. Not the kind of bad that makes you want to throw up, more like your stomach was knotting up and that queasy, uncomfortable feeling was getting bigger.
The common room had long been pitch black and only the fire, which was slowly dying away, gave off a small pleasant glow, but it barely reached the sofa where she was curled up.
He had promised. He had promised to be there and yet she had not seen him since lunch in the Great Hall.
Anger and disappointment kept bubbling up inside her, but she tried to ignore those feelings as worry about him grew and slowly took over.
What if something really happened to him?
Before she could think any more about it, she heard a creak and pulled up. The portrait door swung open and the fat lady could be heard cursing behind Sirius, who came stumbling into the common room, but stopped abruptly when he saw his steady girlfriend on the sofa.
"Y/N?" he asked, startled, looking at her with his eyebrows drawn together.
"Damn it, Sirius, where have you been?" she started, realising that the worry was just giving way to the anger that was rising at the sight of him.
"I was at the lake...well...it was someone's birthday from Hufflepuff and I thought...I could go...what did I do wrong, Love?" he told her hesitantly.
"What did you do wrong, Mister? I don't know, everything I think!" Y/N scolded back, theatrically throwing her hands in the air to express her frustration more.
"You said you were coming, Sirius! Hell, YOU even suggested we meet and still said, you’d had a ,,plan’’…I don't know if that was part of your plan, but if it was, I'm sorry, it's a shitty plan! I thought you would have hurt yourself or made it back to Filch's office."
"Y/N, I'm sorry, okay? I forgot, yeah? What do you want me to do? Invent a time reverser just so our ONE date can still happen?!" sneered Sirius, raising his own voice
"The ONE time?! Sirius I don't know if you've been counting, but this is the fourth time in a row you've forgotten or missed it!" now Y/N shouted too, at which Sirius took a step towards her, but she dodged him right back.
,,I know I'm probably overreacting, but I feel like I'm fighting for our relationship all by myself, Sirius. I'm tired of waiting for you all the time, even though I know you won't come and you probably don't even care. It just hurts, okay?" She had started crying completely now and pulled her jumper closer to her.
"Maybe it has something to do with your family problems," he interrupted angrily and raised his hand, which Y/N only looked at defiantly.
"I am who I am and that is how you should accept me, Y/N! I have apologised, what more can I do?!"
Silence.
Grey, angry eyes met e/c, staring at him with anger and disappointment.
,, "Maybe you should change your priorities if some Hufflepuff chick's party is more important than your own girlfriend, Sirius!"
,, "And maybe you should lower your expectations. You're not the most important person to me damn it!"
Ouch. It felt like Sirius had stuck a knife in your back and was very, very slowly turning it around.
"I didn't mean it, Y/N," Sirius said with a roll of his eyes, avoiding Y/N's hurt gaze and focusing more on her shoes.
,, "Yes you did and you know it very well!"
Sirius groaned and you could literally feel the anger bubbling up inside him again and he had to pull himself together very hard not to yell at her again. In the end, however, his temper won out: "You know what? I'm leaving! I'm tired of this kindergarten and this... this kind of you, Y/N."
"Fine!"
"Great!"
,,Fantastic!" sobbed Y/N, but Sirius barely heard it as he stomped up the stairs to his dorm.
Y/N sat back on the couch, exactly in the place where she had been sitting twenty minutes ago and everything was still "fine".
Had he broken up with her?
She didn't know, but she knew it hurt..., it hurt like hell. There was a hole in her heart and it felt like she was losing her boyfriend, who was moving further and further away from her into the mist, so that all she could see was his outline, not even looking back at her. She wanted to reach out to him, to run after him, but something that must have been her own pride pulled her back and tried to convince her that it wasn't her fault.
But she didn't trust that voice. If only she had stayed calmer... Maybe she could have talked to Sirius calmly about her feelings and thoughts....
——————————————————
"Y/N, wake up!" a voice called at her ear and Y/N slowly opened her eyes. Lily.
,, Lily, please! Let me sleep..." she muttered and turned around to avoid the red-haired witch.
"Forget it! It's Saturday...Hogsmead day," Lily purred excitedly.
"No!"
„Oh come on, Y/NN. We're going to Honeyduks and stock up on chocolate! James, Sirius, Remus and Peter are coming too, it'll be fun!", Lily tried to convince her, but Y/N just shook her head.
"I don't want to see him." "Who?" "Sirius." Lily furrowed her eyebrows questioningly, but quickly understood, "Did you two have a fight?" Y/N merely nodded her head and buried her face in her pillow.
"What was it about?" asked Lily, stroking soothing circles on Y/N's back to get the young witch to speak.
"He missed another date and was at some Hufflepuff party. I was so mad at him...I said things I didn't mean and so did he...His temper won of course...I don't know, it all just escalated. I don't think he wants to see me either." Y/N reported as she sat up and Lily nodded understandingly.
"That's bullshit. He knows he messed up, Y/N. Sirius isn't that stupid... and of course he wants to see you! Besides, it's Saturday, so if you two don't get along, you'll need some frustration food, Y/NN... chocolate! It'll be alright." Lily tried to persuade Y/N and she had to grin.
"Maybe you're right..." said Y/N hesitantly, "Of course I am!" laughed Lily and started to push Y/N into the bathroom.
,"I'm sure he'll be pleased." Repeated Lily, giving her friend a cheery smile.
Once in the Great Hall, the two girls headed for the Gryffendor table where all the Marauders were already seated. Lily gave Y/N's hand an encouraging squeeze before greeting the boys: "Hey!" she called and sat down next to James, who greeted her with a kiss. Y/N stood next to them a little indecisively before squeezing in between Peter and Remus, who greeted her with a quiet,, Hi."
She could literally feel the looks of the others lingering between her and Sirius and lowered her gaze to her plate to avoid the looks from the others and especially Sirius... unsuccessfully. She couldn't help but squint over at the black-haired boy. He had bags under his eyes and was also keeping his eyes on his plate, which was full.
Instead of chatting to the others, she followed James and Lily's relationship banter, which made her wrinkle her nose more than once... Cheesy as hell!
Fortunately, breakfast was over quickly and the group set off for Hogsmead. Sirius and Y/N were mostly quiet and only said something when asked. They all went to Honeyduks together first, where Y/N stocked up on lots of chocolate, at which Sirius just raised his eyebrows, but she avoided his questioning gaze and slipped unobtrusively over to Lily, who was sneaking a caramel into her mouth.
Are you okay?" she asked with her mouth full, eyeing her friend who was standing in front of her a little indecisively.
"He's not even looking at me, Lils... What if he broke up with me yesterday and I haven't even noticed?" whispered Y/N in panic and Lily quickly shook her head.
"He didn't break up with you... Sirius, even though this sounds weird, loves you... Even Peter can see that! Just go up to him and talk to him. But stop blaming yourself: HE messed up and stood you up, not you." She said urgently, piercing Y/N with her green eyes.
„It's okay, Lily," Y/N said, and moved away from her friend, again walking to the biscuit shelf, which was very close to her boyfriend. She looked over at him cautiously and noticed that he was peering over at her too, whereupon she quickly averted her gaze from Sirius again and pretended to analyse the biscuits on the shelf with interest.
After the group had paid for their things, they went into the Three Broomsticks. By the time they entered the pub, it was busy and noisy, making it difficult to find a table to seat them all. After a few minutes, Sirius waved the friends over, who had apparently found room at a table where two Hufflepuff girls were still sitting, giggling as Sirius sat down next to them as he grinned charmingly at them.
A wave of jealousy and frustration erupted in Y/N and she had to pull herself together not to flee the pub immediately. Instead, she bit the inside of her cheek and sat down next to Remus and James, opposite Sirius and Hannah, who probably considered Sirius's forearm her own. She batted her eyelashes and obviously(!) flirted with Sirius, who happily joined in her game.
Y/N quickly looked away, unable to afford to put up with this fuss any longer. Remus unobtrusively squeezed her hand under the table and, Y/N smiled at him gratefully.
Y/N sat awkwardly at the table, not knowing what to do or say next at the sight of her steady boyfriend apparently having already found a new one. Sighing, Y/N stood up and muttered: "I'm going to get us butterbeers, okay?"
Without waiting for the others to reply, she hurried away from the table. She noticed tears forming in her eyes but immediately wiped them away and made her way to the bar where many teenagers were gathered. Desperately, she tried to make her way through the crowd and eventually managed to do so.
She didn't notice someone squeezing up behind her and pushing in next to her until that person snapped at her.
„Y/N?"
Startled, she pulled up to look into the friendly face of Amos Digorry, who was looking down at her.
Oh! Hey, Amos," she greeted her seatmate in Divination and smiled at him.
"Is everything okay with you?" he asked with his eyebrows drawn together and Y/N nodded quickly as she wiped a few remaining tears from her cheeks.
‚,Everything is great, yes," she replied and was glad when Rosmerta put the buttebeer on the counter. Y/N smiled at her in thanks before turning to Amos, "See you around, Amos." She said goodbye and hurried away.
Arriving back at the table, her eyes immediately fell on Sirius and Hannah, who were still talking to each other. Hannah giggled and Sirius seemed to be perfectly comfortable in the company of the beautiful brunette too.
Y/N knew her, she was her seatmate in Potions. As she took a closer look at her, a wave of insecurity gripped her. She had everything one imagines as 'perfect'. She was tall and thin, with a small waist and an elegant posture. She just fitted into the toxic beauty ideals that existed and Y/N hated so much. And the worst part was that there was actually nothing to not like about her. She was sweet and helpful and super nice.
Even though Y/N knew that your weight, your smile, your general appearance, how many friends you have and whether you get good grades doesn't change your worth as a person, she suddenly felt so small and superfluous that she couldn't take it anymore.
She noticed tears welling up in her eyes and stood up abruptly, causing her to bang her knee against the table.
Pained, she screwed up her face and looked at the questioning faces sitting at the table, staring at her. Great... Embarrassed, she brushed a strand of hair that had fallen into her face behind her ear and smiled consumingly, but it looked more like a 'I'm going to cry' smile.
"I- I think I forgot my... uh my- something in Honeyduks, I think... I have- so yeah... I'll go..." she stuttered awkwardly, though she realised all her friends knew she was lying.
She quickly hurried away from the table and Sirius, unable to suppress the tears in her eyes. Hastily she wiped them away, but more kept coming. She didn't notice how Lily called after her in vain and Remus got up from his seat and tried to run after her, but James pushed him back into the chair, looking hauntingly at Sirius who sat frozen. When she got to the crowded alleyway, Y/N just stumbled through the crowd and was glad when she got behind Honeydukes, where there was a path that led to the howling hut. The path was snowed in and would have been beautiful if Y/N had paid more attention. She trudged along the path until she finally arrived at the howling hut. She just stared at it and stopped in front of it. She focused on the small cracks in the wall that looked like small branches of trees moving in the wind.
She heard footsteps coming closer and closer and turned around. Sirius. His black hair was a mess and he hadn't even zipped up his jacket. He was panting and apparently out of breath when he started to speak: "I'm sorry. I'm so incredibly sorry, yeah? You have to believe me when I say I'm sorry... Please Y/N, you have to believe me."
She said nothing and just looked at him urgently until he began to speak again: "Please say something. You can yell at me too, you can yell at me all year and the years after, but please say something." He pleaded, looking at her pleadingly as he wiped his face.
"You don't know anything, Sirius." , she started and he nodded to get her to talk further.
"You don't know how much it hurts to wait for a person that you- that you seem to love. You do know what it's like to not feel loved and- and to feel insecure... you know exactly what that feels like. And I always get so mad at the person who makes you feel that way because they hurt you! And I think I can say that I'm there for you then!" she gulped and Sirius nodded to agree with her, "But you're never there..." she sobbed, letting her tears fall again.
"I know you love me and I can't compare your family to our relationship. I feel good in your presence and- and that's how it should be... - that's how it should be! But- but it always hurts so much when you stand me up or ignore me and I don't even know what I- what I did wrong...I wasn't the one who stood you up, Sirius. It was you...and so many times!" she continued in exasperation and Sirius wasn't sure whether to let her finish or give her a hug. But before he could make a decision for himself, Y/N continued: "And today was even worse! Lily told me all the time that it wasn't my fault and now I know that it wasn't or isn't mine either. But then when you were flirting with Hannah and you-you were having such a good time, I was so sad! Why can you talk to her and have fun but not with me?! Why are you happy to see her but not me?!" asked Y/N desperately and Sirius opened his mouth to stop her from having those thoughts but she continued with a sad look: "You once promised me you would never make me feel small or insecure. You once promised to always be there for me. You once promised me that I was the "only one" and that you loved me. You promised to be there for me so many times, Sirius. But somehow you broke them all and I don't know what to do with these broken promises. I love you and that's not going to change, but I- I just don't know what to do with it when you- you hurt me so much and make me feel so insecure... So actually, you do know what that feels like...just differently." She confessed to him and completely burst into tears.
Sirius, who had tears in his own eyes, looked at her with a pained smile, which made her cry even more. He broke the distance between them and took her in his arms. He pressed her tightly against him and had to bend down to put his face in the crook of her neck. She clung to his shoulders and pressed her face into his chest to breathe in his familiar scent.
They stood like that for a while. Both crying, holding each other as close as possible. After a few minutes, Sirius slowly detached himself so he could look into her eyes.
"You don't know how sorry I am, Y/N. I don't want to hurt you! Merlin, when I think about the fact that I did it, I want to hurt myself. You're- you're- Damn, I'm not good with words!" he laughed and even Y/N had to smile a little.
,,I love you. For everything you do and for everything you say. I love you for who you are and for those little things you do for others. And I will- will never stand you up or break the promises I made to you ever again. I swear I will do my best, Y/N....and I am so grateful that you love me because I never wanted anything else in my life! You don't have to forgive me now...I understand if you don't, honestly." He said softly so she could just hear.
She smiled slightly at him and said laughing: "So if you kiss me now, it'll make things a bit better."
Sirius grinned and closed the distance between them, placing his warm lips on hers. He kissed her softly and lovingly, as if afraid to scare her away, but she didn't go. She deepened their kiss a little and sighed into his mouth.
As they kissed there like that, in front of the howling hut with dried tears on their cheeks, Y/N knew that everything would be allright again....

"O'course, I'm glad to have helped."
She started to walk away slowly and gave Steven a small wave.
"Well, have a good day, Steven. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow?" she said hopefully.
Steven felt his heart fly up into his throat.

To: T, Jess <[email protected]> From: Management <[email protected]> Subject: data audit Attachments: DataCleanUpReport.xls
Jess,
Please see the attached document with the results of our data audit for last month. The items noted in column G need to be corrected to the items listed in column H. These corrections need to be input into the system by the end of the week. Please advise once complete.
Sincerely, Management
“Really? Again? Thanks a fucking lot” Jess huffed while slouching back into her desk chair. She was sick of leadership offloading their busywork onto her. It felt like everyone else in the department was assigned to some interesting project or another, except her. Nope, Jess was left to tidy up other people’s mistakes and deal with the drudgery nobody wanted to do.
Jess could feel a snarky reply itching its way out of her. She opted to lock her computer and depart for lunch before she did any damage. It was days like today that she was glad her office was behind-the-times enough to still have cubicles, so no one could see the agitation in her movements. Every other company Jess had worked for embraced the “open office” mentality. Being elbow to elbow with your coworkers without a sliver of privacy quickly made a bad mood so much worse.
Jess yanked her bag out of her desk drawer, and grabbed her umbrella for good measure. It was always rainy this time of year in London. She finally felt her shoulders start to relax as she walked out of the building’s front doors. She stopped at a kebab shop down the street to get a doner wrap, and wolfed it down during the rest of her walk.
Her office was only a few blocks away from the famed British Museum, and Jess had taken to spending her lunch breaks there a few times a week. Doing so had several perks -
1) It was free
2) It was relaxing and educational
And, most importantly,
3) It was the last place any of her coworkers would ever go during lunch.
Jess had recently started bringing her sketchbook along to practice drawing the many sculptures, statues, or even other visitors. It helped her feel more human, being surrounded by art and artifacts while practicing an art herself. Being an office drone will wear you down if you don’t fight it somehow.
Today seemed to be a bit busier than usual. There were throngs of people crowding the information desk as Jess walked inside. She had hoped to grab a museum map to keep on hand, but didn’t feel like contending with the horde of people. Jess cut around the crowd and walked towards her usual corner of the museum. She had been working her way through the many Ancient Greece and Rome rooms for the last few weeks. Today, she felt like something different.
Jess paused at a sign listing the exhibits in this wing.
“Assyrian sculpture… Egyptian sculpture…hmm that sounds about perfect” she muttered to herself.
It was much calmer in the Egyptian sculpture exhibits. Maybe a dozen or so people were spread throughout the interconnected rooms. Jess took in the gorgeous statues as she slowly walked through, waiting for one to catch her eye as today’s sketch subject. She noticed there was a gift shop to her right. She glanced over and scanned the front of the counter, hoping to see a stack of museum maps like the information desk had.
“Oh, ah hello there! Can I help you?”
Jess turned to see the source of the, rather cheerful, query. The museum employee standing behind the counter looked up at her eagerly, dark wavy hair falling above his brow as he leaned over the register. Jess blinked, and finally realized she hadn’t responded to him yet.
“Oh um no, no thank you, just looking!” she stuttered out. “Well… actually, I was wondering if you had any of the exhibit maps here? I meant to grab one up front but there was such a big crowd. I know I can just pull it up on my phone… but, I prefer to have a physical copy, you know?”
Jess mentally kicked herself as she over-explained to this man who certainly didn’t care why she wanted a map.
“Ah, I’m afraid we don’t keep any of the maps or pamphlets back here," the man said in an apologetic tone.
"That's fine, no worries! Just wanted to check." Jess reassured him.
"Pretty stupid not to, now that you mention it eh? I should say something to my boss. Those would be more useful than half the stuff back here, like all these jelly scorpions. I mean what does that have to do with Egyptian history? Honestly I -”
The man cut himself off and shook his head, eyes closed.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to get going on a rant there” He looked at her again with an embarrassed smile.
Jess gave what she hoped was a sympathetic smile.
"Not at all, I mean I can't say I disagree with you. Though, admittedly, those hippos over there are pretty cute" she nodded to a pile of hippo plush toys and chuckled.
"Well, technically, those are the goddess Taweret.” The man said with a teasing glance, “But, yeah, I s'pose they are cute. I think she would approve of them, actually.”
He paused for a moment before looking back at Jess.
“Right! So, er, no maps unfortunately. But I’d be happy to help direct you myself! I know this museum backwards and forwards by now.”
Jess chuckled softly. “Sure, I didn’t really have anything specific in mind. I like to come here on my lunch breaks and sketch the artifacts. I’ve been through most of the Greek and Roman exhibits, so I decided to come through here today.”
The man instantly perked up with excitement at hearing this.
“That’s just lovely! Well there’s loads to see and draw here. Over there is the sculpture of King Ramses the second, and down here we have -”
As the man animatedly explained what and where seemingly every artifact in the exhibit was, Jess took a moment to properly observe him. He wore a simple gray jacket over a slightly rumpled but brightly patterned shirt. A nametag on the front jacket pocket revealed his name was Steven. He was very handsome for a gift shop worker, with striking features and an attractive build obscured by his frenetic energy and ordinary clothing. Dark circles under his warm brown eyes hinted at some unseen stress in his life, but you would never guess it otherwise. He spoke with more passion than Jess could ever remember having in her own workplace.
“- and of course you simply MUST see the Rosetta Stone down there. Although, ha, I s’pose it wouldn’t be much for drawing would it?”
He suddenly looked bashful again, glancing back at Jess.
“It's just a big old block with some writing on it, innit?” He chuckled hesitantly “But… it did allow us to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphs. So, er, it’s a rather useful big old block I’d say.”
He looked down at the counter and fiddled with some of the merchandise, the confidence he’d shown just moments ago seemed to evaporate.
“Well, er, I’ll let you get to it then.” He suddenly reverted to customer service mode, “Is there anything else I can help you with, miss?”
Jess flashed her best you’re-doing-great-sweetie smile at him.
“No, thank you, I really appreciate your recommendations.” She remembered less than half of what he’d told her, but his enthusiasm was incredibly charming.
He smiled back at her shyly “Always glad to help. Have a great day, miss.”
Jess started to walk away but thought better of it. Before she could think it through, she found herself turning back to the gift shop clerk.
“If you’re still here when I’m done, I can show you whatever I end up sketching. If you like…”
She surprised him as much as she did herself. He perked back up and grinned at her.
“I'd love that! I won’t be going anywhere ‘til closing tonight, so, you know where to find me -” He paused for half a beat “- right here. Yep.” He chuckled timidly.
“Great! Well, I’ll see you later - “
Jess pointedly glanced at his nametag again.
“- Steven.”
She gave him another warm smile and turned on her heel down the hall. She did not see Steven gazing after her with a flustered grin on his face.
‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙
Steven watched her walk away and waited for his heart rate to go back to normal. It was several minutes before he realized he still had a goofy smile plastered on his face, replaying the interaction in his head.
He made a mental note to ask for her name when she came back. Then, he felt a small lurch in his stomach at his next thought.
If she comes back.
Of course, he was getting ahead of himself. She was just being kind to him. He'd spoken with hundreds, if not thousands, of museum visitors since working here. None of those interactions went beyond surface level. None of those people would remember him or think about him once they stepped away from the gift shop counter. There was no reason to expect this time would be any different, right?
No, this was just an unusually pleasant interaction with an unusually pleasant patron. Nothing more. At the very least, it had brightened his day significantly.
And… it was the closest to anything resembling flirting he had experienced in ages.
‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙
Jess meandered through the exhibits and settled in front of a row of lion goddess statues. The plaque indicated they were representations of the goddess Sekhmet, and were likely commissioned by King Amenhotep III.
There was no bench so Jess sat on the floor. She pulled out her sketchbook and pencils, and looked up at the artifacts in front of her. She started out with a rough impression of the four statues together. Then she moved on to more detailed sketches of one statue's lion head, and then her hands resting on her lap. She captured the damaged sections as well as the skillful carvings in the stone.
Her mind wandered, not for the first time, to the sense of awe at being surrounded by works that were carved thousands of years ago. How many hands had touched these statues? How many people had played a part in their creation? Had gazed upon them where they once stood in Egypt? And then, how many had helped steal them away from their homeland to be put on display in a stuffy museum in England? Had they heard the bombs falling during the blitz? These Sekhmet statues had literally seen kingdoms, empires, rise and fall. The stories they might tell.
Jess checked the time on her phone.
Crap, better start heading back to the office.
She put a few finishing touches on her sketch and packed up to leave. Without thinking, she automatically started heading towards the museum entrance. Then she remembered her conversation with the gift shop clerk - Steven.
"Shit…" she hissed under her breath.
Why did I say I'd show him my sketches? I'm such a dork. He was probably just humoring me.
Still, she didn't want to leave him hanging. He'd seemed genuinely interested in seeing what she drew. And besides, if she was going to keep coming here she didn't want to make things awkward with any of the staff.
She walked back towards the gift shop, slightly hoping there would be a line of customers to give her an excuse to leave.
Jess rounded the corner into the gift shop area. There was Steven sitting behind the counter, not a customer in sight. Great.
Steven did an absurdly comical double take as Jess walked over. He stood up so quickly that he sent a pile of sticker packs flying across the counter.
"Oh, hey, you're back! Er, I mean, did you find everything you were looking for today?"
Jess couldn't help giggling in amusement. She had never seen someone look so weirdly cute while stumbling over themselves. She also couldn't remember the last time someone had such a reaction to her entering a room. It was a heady feeling.
"Yeah! I ended up settling on the row of Sekhmet statues around the corner there."
She tried to make eye contact with Steven as she spoke, but found herself unable to hold it for long. He gazed at her with such a rapt look on his face, hanging on her every word. Jess felt a blush creep up her neck, and made a show of digging her sketchbook out of her bag as an excuse to look away. Much to her relief, Steven quickly filled the space left by her silence.
"Lovely choice. Those Sekhmets are some of my favorites. Really interesting, Amenhotep was apparently obsessed with her. He commissioned hundreds of those statues and put them bloody everywhere, even in his tomb. I believe the ones in the museum here were originally from Thebes? Or was it Karnak?" Steven furrowed his brow and looked up towards the ceiling while searching his memory. After a beat he looked back at Jess and the sketchbook in her hands.
"D-did you find them to be good drawing subjects, then?" Steven fidgeted his hands together.
"I did, they're so beautiful. Even with the wear and damage. Um, if you wanted to see…" Jess half heartedly gestured towards her sketchbook.
"Please, absolutely!" Steven answered a little too quickly.
Jess looked down, trying to hide her growing blush. She opened to the pages she had sketched today and put the book down on the counter, rotating it to face Steven. He bent over to examine them, careful not to touch the sketches themselves.
"Brilliant, these are just brilliant, wow." Steven said in a low voice, shaking his head with a grin. "Someone here is hogging all the creative talent, - "
He looked up to lock eyes with Jess, and gestured towards her,
"- you." He chuckled self consciously.
If Jess wasn't blushing before she certainly was now.
"That's really sweet of you to say. They're just simple sketches." Jess thumbed the strap of her bag and looked at her sketchbook sitting on the counter. "I'm not a real artist or anything… it's just something I like to do in my free time. "
"No way, you're really talented! These are gorgeous. They're not just life-like but they feel… alive, like you captured a spirit hidden in the stone itself."
Jess looked up to meet Steven's gaze as he continued.
"There's something special here. I see those statues every day… but, looking at what you've drawn, it feels like I'm seeing them in a new way."
Steven paused and held Jess's gaze. Jess couldn't tell if she wanted to hug him or just burst out crying from his unexpectedly thoughtful compliment. The best she could muster was a small, quiet -
"...thank you. Really. You're… you're very kind." She gave him an embarrassed smile.
Steven beamed back at her.
"I mean, I'm no artist myself. I'm just a gift shop clerk, what do I know? But I think these are brilliant and that you're very talented."
He handed the sketchbook back to Jess. She got a glance of her watch as she put it back in her bag.
"Crap, sorry, I'm going to be late getting back to the office. I'd better get going." She looked up at him and gave a shy smile. "Thank you, again. I think I needed to hear that today."
Steven felt his heart flip over in his chest.
"O'course, I-I'm glad to have helped."
Jess started to walk away slowly and gave Steven a small wave.
"Well, have a good day, Steven. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow?" she said hopefully.
Steven felt his heart fly up into his throat.
"Sure! I'll be exactly right here, again. Well, unless my boss puts me on inventory, but hopefully not." He chuckled nervously and waved back to her. Then he remembered his mental note from earlier.
"Wait, ah, miss, d'you mind my asking what your name is?"
"Oh, right, not at all! It's Jess."
"Jess, lovely to meet you. I'm Steven, with a V." He pointed to his nametag.
To her continued embarrassment, Jess heard herself giggle in response.
"Lovely to meet you too, Steven with a V. See you tomorrow."
She turned and walked out of the exhibit towards the exit. It felt like there was an electric current humming through her body. She couldn't stop smiling to herself the whole walk back to the office.
Jess got back to her cubicle and settled into her desk chair with a sigh.
Steven with a V.
She was already looking forward to tomorrow’s lunch break.
‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙
Steven watched Jess walk away and collapsed back into his chair behind the counter.
He looked at the glass encased artifact sitting opposite the gift shop.
"Tell me that really just happened, please?"
His reflection in the glass crossed its arms and laughed
Oh yeah bud, that definitely just happened.
"D’you think she'll actually come back tomorrow? Do you think she'll actually want to see me again? I mean…" Steven trailed off with a sigh.
She came back today didn't she? I think she might.
"Well, hopefully I don't make an ass of myself again." Steven sighed and sank deeper into the chair.
His reflection uncrossed his arms and took a few steps forward.
Hey, despite all odds I think you actually did pretty good back there. She seemed to like you! Try not to worry about it. If it's meant to be, it'll come naturally. And… at the very least, I think you made her day by complimenting her art. That counts for something.
Steven smiled weakly.
"Thanks, Marc."
Any time, Steven.

comfort | l. sangyeon
☁ pairing: bf!sangyeon x fem!reader ☁ wc: 1.3k ☁ synopsis: you come home from work furious, and sangyeon does his best to calm you down. ☁ genre: fluff, comfort, domestic ☁ tw: swear words, y/n is angry at the world ☁ a/n: this is a self-indulgent fic because my boss fucking annoys me at work and I cba of her petty ass 🙄 oh to get comforted by sangyeon honestly... ☁ requested: no!
╰☆☆☆☆╮
“I’m fucking tired of all this shit!” you cursed as you slammed the front door shut, sending your purse and jacket flying out of pure frustration.
Locking the door in an angry movement, you got even hotter under the collar when your heels didn’t want to leave your feet, your uneven balance making you stumble on air and almost fall on the floor. Once you were finally rid of your shoes, you felt like walking on clouds, but this was not enough to reduce your wrath.
“Woah, woah, woah. Easy there, love,” Sangyeon, your boyfriend emerged from the kitchen in the corridor, blinking in confusion at your unusual angry attitude.
Your eyes were close to glowing red, steam practically going out of your ears, which was not a good sign at all. You rarely got angry, so it must have been something pretty upsetting and important to send you in a fit of rage like this one. The sight of your boyfriend made you sharply inhale as if you wanted to control yourself in front of him, trying your best to channel your anger.
“What’s wrong, Y/N?” Sangyeon risked asking the question, getting ready for you to yell out all your frustration at him, but he was wrong. You remained silent, chewing over your anger with a deep frown on your face, eyebrows almost touching. In all honesty, he would have preferred you screaming at the world rather than becoming as mute as a grave.
“This-” you wanted to curse out your colleague, the main reason for your anger, but remained civil, feeling like swear words weren’t even enough to get all the anger you had for her out of your body. “This fucking colleague of mine “accidentally” deleted the Excel folder I spent hours working on for our trimestral project next week. I had lunch after yelling at her and went to my boss's office after my break, only to have him blaming me for what she did!” you yelled out in a hoarse voice the rest of your sentence, emphasising the pronouns as your hands started shaking, the tears flooding your eyes immediately after a choked sob slipped past your pursed lips.
“And then,” your voice was unsteady, looking at your boyfriend through your blurry eyes, pointing the door as if your colleague was here, “when I get out of work to come home, I see those two good-for-nothing idiots flirting and swooning over the other like the fucking disgusting couple they are.”
Sangyeon breathed in deeply, brows slightly furrowed, dismayed at the situation you got unfairly put in. He placed the piece of cloth he used to dry the dishes with on his shoulder and gently approached you as if he was scared of getting rejected. Your shoulders subsided when he rested his palm on the side of your neck, his thumb gently caressing the edge of your jaw back and forth.
“Sangyeon, I’m so tired of this, I don’t know what to do,” you desperately struggled to mumble, this situation affecting you way more than you wanted, but it was hard not to. Your boyfriend rested his other hand on your shoulder, gently pulling you to him. Subconsciously, you wrapped your arms around his middle and closed your eyes, letting the tears wet his t-shirt as you tried to focus on him instead of your issue.
But it was almost impossible, this issue had you really worried. Deep down, you knew that your boss wouldn’t hesitate to fire you instead of whatever your colleague was for him, even if she was less qualified and talented than you. You should have been more careful, you should have immediately explained the problem to your boss to prevent your colleague from switching the roles and playing the victim, you should have-
“Y/N, I can hear your thoughts from here,” your boyfriend mumbled, his low voice vibrating in your chest as you were still pressed against him. Sighing heavily as an answer, you let his hand rub your back up and down, your breath uneven as you felt the anger boiling back into your veins.
Sangyeon felt you tense against him, so he pulled away and cradled your face in his hands to make you look at him. He offered you a compassionate smile, his thumbs wiping the floods of tears cascading down your cheeks. Your mouth trembled, and Sangyeon locked eyes with you, his hands travelling up your arms as he soothed you.
“Shht, darling,” he whispered as he kissed your forehead, lips lingering on your skin. Your tears redoubled at the display of affection, feeling the exhaustion instead of the anger taking over your body. He wrapped his arm around your neck, his other hand pressing against the back of your head.
“Do you want solutions or comfort?” he mumbled in your ear in a sweet voice, and you pondered his question for a few seconds, trying to collect your thoughts and shift them to something else.
He was always good at comforting you. No matter how bad or angry you felt, Sangyeon was always here to soothe you and bring you back to a calm state, that’s why you could freely let your emotions speak when he was around. Of course, he was sometimes powerless, not really knowing nor able to help, but at least he was here to listen.
“Comfort, please,” you manage to utter, and he pressed you further against his chest, his arms still embracing you tightly.
“We’ll discuss solutions when you’ll feel better and calmer, alright? Now let me make you a cup of tea,” he said, and you whined, nuzzling up to his torso as he was about to pull away. “No? You don’t want one?” he asked, and you shook your head, his arms closing back on your tired figure as he was surprised that you refused your favourite beverage.
“Don’t leave, please,” you felt Sangyeon nod and press his cheek on the side of your head, holding you tight against him.
“Alright, darling,” he seized one of your hands and rested it flat on his chest, feeling his calm heartbeat under your palm. It was something he used to do when you were stressed out, and it always managed to calm you down.
Sangyeon held you until you stopped crying, feeling your trembles come to a halt and find a normal heartbeat again. Eyes puffy and cheeks drenched in salty tears, Sangyeon tilted his head to the side and lovingly smiled at you, letting you rest your head against his collarbone out of exhaustion. Crying drained all your energy because it didn’t happen as often as it used to, but you could always count on your boyfriend to take care of you and handle the aftermath like a pro.
“Come on love, let’s get you to the sofa so I can finish preparing dinner, okay? I won’t let you go to bed with an empty stomach,” you nodded as you sat down on the edge of the couch, Sangyeon crouching down in front of you, his hands on your knees.
“What are you preparing?” you asked, your voice barely coming out of your mouth due to all your crying.
“I’m making your favourite. I figured that you had a rough day since you didn’t text me at lunch like you usually did, so I wanted to cheer you up,” he proudly smiled as he watched your eyes widen, a relieved smile drawing on your face.
“Oh my god I love you, thank you,” you mumbled, and Sangyeon softly chuckled, his hand carding through your hair as strands fell in front of your eyes. He cupped your face with his hand before gently rubbing his nose against yours, earning a smile from you.
“That’s my girl,” he whispered as he stood up, quickly bending back down to press your lips together in a soft kiss.
You offered him a grateful smile, and he winked, making his way back in the kitchen, leaving you appeased in the living room. With his hugs and support, you felt calm and collected for tomorrow, mentally ready to confront your colleague and boss for their mistakes. But for now, your focus was your boyfriend, and you couldn’t wait to spend a lovely evening with him and some good food.

Dancing Lessons
LOONA Yves X Everglow Sihyeon
3641 words.
Categories: smut, lesbian, oral, fingering
Sooyoung carefully observed each of the movements of the girl in front of her, her elbows resting on her knees and her hands clasped under her chin as she studied every little detail of her body. Her lines were perfect, graceful and delicated like a ballet dancer; her technique, precise and visually pleasing. She gave off talent, there was no doubt about it, but something was wrong ...
"Stop, stop," interrupted the dance teacher, standing up. "What the hell was that?"
Sihyeon stopped over her position, confused at the sudden interruption.
"Ah ... what did I do wrong?" She asked, tilting her head. "I was doing very well ... or so I think ..." slowly she lowered her gaze, seeing her hands meet in her belly.
"Where the hell are your facial expressions?" You look like a dancing robot, you don't convey anything to me, it's just empty dance sequences.
Sooyoung took a few menacing steps toward her, her hands spread out on either side of her body as she waited for an answer. Sihyeon couldn't find a way to meet her eyes, and thus, there was no answer.
"What are you, a robot?" Are you? ”The older woman stood in front of her with her arms crossed.
"No ... Miss Ha ..." Sihyeon replied in a low, trembling voice.
"Look me in the eye when I'm talking to you."
She cupped her chin with her thumb and index finger, making her lift her face and meet her deep gaze. The distance between them was moderated at first, but Sooyoung took a step in front of her, remaining a few inches from her face.
"I'm a bad teacher ... Sihyeon-ssi?" Asked the older one in a somewhat calmer voice.
It required a great deal of mental effort on Sihyeon's to even be able to organize her thoughts. Her mouth, slightly parted from physical exhaustion, and her face, were completely paralyzed. The only things that remained active in her were her bright puppyish eyes and her heart, which was beating at a thousand per hour.
Although she wanted to express herself in words, her response was a slight movement of the head from side to side, signaling her disagreement.
"So I thought ... look at you, so pretty ... so ... perfect ..." the hand that had held her chin now went up and down her cheek, caressing it with the back of it. "I wonder how beautiful you can be if I can make your face twist just a little... "
Sihyeon, who was in a trance, finally blurted out coherent words from her mouth. Words that had been born from a combination of despair, fear, desire and love.
"Soooyoung-unnie... kiss me," she finally said, giving in to her deepest and most hidden temptations.
"If you want so...
Without thinking twice, the older one placed her free hand on the right side of her torso and ended the short distance that separated them, joining in a slow and passive kiss that with the passing of the seconds became intense and spirited. Sooyoung cradled Sihyeon's small face with both hands, adopting a certain dominance that allowed him to invade her mouth; soon, both tongues were involved in a passionate dance that did anything to lower the temperature of the environment.
Gripped by lust, Sihyeon let out little moans from her throat, signs that the sensual act was turning her on much more than she should. It was from a slight tingle from her lower abdomen to her crotch that she gave in to her desire.
"Unnie ... touch me please ... I need you." she managed to say between slight gasps as she separated from the kiss for lack of air.
"Who in her right mind would refuse to please such an innocent and pretty princess? ..." Sooyoung lowered her hands to her waist, clinging to her as if she were her property. She wasn't that far from reality either.
Sooyoung used her control over the situation to press her against her body, planting one last kiss on her lips before diving into her neck. Sihyeon's body was still damp from sweat, but Sooyoung couldn't care less.
Sihyeon tilt her head to one side, giving Sooyoung green light to kiss and bite every little corner of it. She wasn't worried about her leaving any mark, she was so trapped by her that she could easily do anything she asked without even complaining.
Her hands went straight to the nape of Sooyoung's neck, taking off her hat and tossing it to the ground so she could tangle his fingers in her pretty hair. In that position she was right in front of her ear, so that she could clearly hear how slight moans came from her mouth, caused by the work of the older woman on her neck.
Inadvertently Sihyeon was now cornered against the hall's mirrored wall. Sooyoung left her neck for a moment, now making a path of small kisses along the entire line of her chin until they ended up on her lips, stifling a low moan from the black-haired woman.
With the girl right where she wanted her, Sooyoung hands slowly moved up her abdomen, feeling her skin brush against her fingertips until they reached her breasts, gently squeezing them over the top under her shirt. Sihyeon never wore very revealing clothes, so she might not otherwise have realized how well endowed she was. She unwittingly she was going crazy for making her hers, seeing her pretty face twisted with pleasure and hearing how she moaned her name.
She wasted no time in getting down to business. In a matter of seconds both girls were semi naked from the waist up, their only obstacle now was the black sport top that the black-haired woman was wearing. She was about to remove it as well, but to her surprise, the youngest took the initiative to remove it herself, without any shyness or nervousness. At that moment she noticed that she was not the same as before, the Sihyeon she knew was reserved and barely knew how to move a muscle on her face, but now she looked different, with somewhat agitated breathing, messy hair and a look full of sensuality. It was like having Aphrodite herself at her mercy, to do whatever she wanted with her. Sooyoung, stunned by her astonishing beauty, didn't even know how to react.
"Sihyeonnie…" she softly said.
"What are you waiting for? I'm all yours… ”Sihyeon grabbed her own breasts with her hands to tease Sooyoung, giving each one a little squeeze.
That was the last straw. Sooyoung brought her lips together again for a short but intense kiss before returning to her neck, starting a long kissing trail from her collarbone to her shoulders and leaving the main course for last.
She held onto Sihyeon's wrists, carefully pulling her hands away from her so that he could insert one of her breasts into her mouth. A loud moan escaped of her mouth as Sooyoung sucked and licked her hardened nipple; Her hands were not still, one gently pinching her other nipple, while the other massaged and squeezed the mound she was working on. Sihyeon's hands ended up on her head again, her fingers gripping her hair in a desperate attempt to get more of the pleasure she was already receiving.
For the first time, her face gave subtle glimpses of how she felt, her bent eyebrows and her mouth parted from her gasps were just one of the few signs Sooyoung had of her to know that she was making a good job. Sihyeon had a long time with the need to be truly pleased, previously, her ex-partner didn’t do the best of jobs when it came to intimacy, so the skillful and amazing stimuli that she received were like traveling to the heaven.
After given enough attention to each nipple, Sooyoung returned to the lips of the black-haired woman, sowing a couple of short kisses while she brought his hands to her back, removing her bra and being on an equal status with Sihyeon. But not for much longer.
Sooyoung took her by the hips, turning her around and leaving her face a few inches from the mirror. She placed her hands on her waist while placing small kisses on the nape of her neck, her right shoulder and then her back, until she ended up on his knees behind her. Sihyeon turned her face as best she could, seeing her with her pretty gaze full of lust.
With her fingers hooked in the seam of her leggings, Sooyoung slowly brought them down until they reached her ankles, where Sihyeon finished pulling them off her after desperately taking off her sneakers. The only thing separating her now from her target was a pair of white panties, already damp from the growing arousal that she had built up for a few minutes.
"You have such a beautiful butt…" Sooyoung softly said, stroking both of her cheeks up and down, randomly stopping to give them a strong squeeze. "Are you really all mine?"
"Y-yes ... as long as you want ... as many times as you want", answered the minor between small whimpers, involuntarily pushing her hips back to get closer to Sooyoung's face.
"Look how wet you are, princess. So needy ... you require special attention."
Sooyoung brought two fingers of her right hand right to the center of her cleft, rubbing them from top to bottom slowly and moistening them with her fluid. She wasn't going to keep her waiting much longer.
Exactly as she did it before, Sooyoung now removed her panties in a matter of seconds, throwing them along with the rest of the clothes and now leaving the girl completely naked, with her pussy shining in fluids.
She repeated the same thing as before, rubbing her pussy up and down with two of her fingers as she repeatedly kissed the inside of her asscheeks. As a few seconds passed she grasped both of her cheeks and parted them, making her way to place her tongue flat against her wet flesh.
"Oh god…" Sihyeon moaned, feeling Sooyoung's eating her pussy, collecting all its fluids with the tongue.
Few time passed until her moans began to grow in quantity, caused by the increase in intensity in the movements of the tongue that was slowly driving her to madness. Her hips acted with own life, pulling back thanks to the little spasms that invaded her body. The only support she had from her was the mirror, which perfectly reflected how her face was twisted with pleasure.
Sooyoung couldn't see her due to her current position, but both her moans and her sudden spasms were proof that she had found the perfect spots. Knowing this, she continued for a few seconds, alternating the speed of her movements to make sure she did not reach orgasm so quickly. She wanted to be able to see her when that happened.
Finally the older woman stopped, standing up so she could see Sihyeon's gasping face, her breathing quite choppy from hers. Not finished yet, Sooyoung leaned on with her side in the mirror to one side of her, looking directly to those cute eyes, her fingers working in circles over her clit.
"I need to cum, please… put them inside me," Sihyeon begged between little moans, leaning to Sooyoung to give her a desperate kiss.
"You don't even have to beg me," the older replied in the middle of the kiss, bringing her index and middle fingers inch by inch inside her, causing a moan so loud it made her separate from the kiss.
“Fuck!” As she was closer to her, Sihyeon rested one of her hands on Sooyoung's shoulder, holding onto it tightly.
When she was fully inside her, Sooyoung began to move her wrist back and forth, slowly at first, but soon set a more intense and consistent rhythm, feeling the inner walls of her pussy getting tighter around her fingers with every pump. Sihyeon quickly turned into a completely mess.
"It feels so good… so good!" Ah! Sooyoungie! ”Sihyeon moaned with her head hanging down, being astonishingly fucked by Sooyoung long fingers.
The spasms of her body began to get worse by each second that passed, Sooyoung had to make a great effort so that she did not collapse at any moment, encircling her torso with her left arm as she quickly pump her fingers in and out her pussy.
Her gaze never left her face, it was everything she always wanted to see in her. Sooyoung could only see her as a beautiful ice princess, cold and unemotional until now, with her face and body turned into a pretty mess.
"Look me in the eye when you cum…" Sooyoung whispered into her ear.
Sihyeon complied with the order immediately, getting her back as straight as she could to be face to face with the older one. She didn't have much left to reach her peak, the strong tingles in her belly and around her crotch were about to make her explode. She bit down hard on her own lip, holding in her agitated, loud moans as she approached her orgasm.
"I'm going to cum, hmm ... ah!" Sooyoungie! ”Sihyeon yelled after a few seconds, being approached by the strongest orgasm she had ever experienced. It was very helpful that at that time of night there was no one in the studio, otherwise everyone would have been able to hear the great uproar that the black-haired woman was causing at that time.
Sooyoung hugged her tightly, preventing her from collapsing on her knees. Her face was like looking at a beautiful Renaissance painting, a work of art worth framing in her memory and then keeping under lock and key. Gradually the movement of her fingers subsided, until finally her orgasm passed.
Without saying anything, the two came together again in a kiss more affectionate and soft than any of the previous ones.
"I… ah… that was… unbelievable," Sihyeon gasped after a few seconds, her breathing still messed up.
"I hope your facial expressions improve after this, cutie, you're very good," Sooyoung replied, giving her a last little kiss on the lips.
"Thank you ... but ... this isn't over yet, I don't want to be the only satisfied."
Sihyeon took her by the hand, guiding her to the couch from which she watched her dance a minutes ago. Sooyoung sat first in the center of this one, feeling the hard leather against her bare back as she sank a little into the seat. Her gaze did not detach from the monument in front of her for a single moment, scrutinizing every little detail of her body. In an instant the minor straddled her lap, working with her hands to unbutton the jeans that were already beginning to be a nuisance; when she got there, she leaned forward to take her face in her hands and kiss her again.
Sooyoung took the moment to comfortably explore her body, feeling her creamy and perfect skin against her fingertips from her legs, through her butt, her back, and ending on her breasts, which she gently squeezed in her hands. At the same time, the youngest got her hand inside her jeans, bringing her fingers to brush up and down over her slit and feeling how the wetness was seeping between her thin fabric.
To to save her effort and be able to continue kissing her for a few more seconds, she lifted her hips to slide her jeans and her underwear off her legs, including her shoes.
With both bodies completely naked, the degree of intimacy of the moment was increased. Both hands traveled from one corner to another, seeking to feel more and more of the other's body with each small movement; the friction between her skin, the affectionate kiss and above all, the heat that was transmitted, made the moment much more pleasant than any other sexual act.
"Soooyoungie ..." Sihyeon said in a low voice, parting only a few inches from her to see her eyes. "Do you want to date with me?"
"It's not the best time to ask a question like that, Miss Kim ..." the older one put a hand on her face, tracing the outline of her lower lip with her thumb. "I’d love to date with you’’.
The answer drew a broad smile on Sihyeon.
"Well, now relax, your ice princess will make you feel very ..." Sihyeon massaged Sooyoung’s shoulders. "Very good." She wanted to sound sexy, but the reality was that her words came out with all the shyness and the softness of the world. Touched by her cuteness, Sooyoung nodded to give her a small kiss.
All the previous history was now repeating itself in reverse. Sihyeon attacked directly at her neck, delivering sweet and careful kisses, then lowered himself to her collarbone, and then made a stop at her small but beatiful breasts. She was somewhat insecure at first due to her lack of experience, but as she gained more and more confidence, her stimuli turned into something that made Sooyoung moan under her breath.
She brought one of her nipples to her mouth, licking slowly and in circles, taking small pauses to suck on it gently. Seconds later she moved on to the other, moving her tongue up and down and repeating the process, followed by a few massages to both mounds.
After a minute her mouth fell from the center of her chest to her favorite part of her body: her toned and strong abs. Sihyeon went crazy every time she saw her at rehearsals for this reason, aside from being a gorgeous and incredibly sexy woman, her worked abs were the reason for many of her distractions.
She didn't waste even a moment as she got off the couch and caressing her entire torso, enjoying the feeling of having her all to herself. She centered her kisses around her navel, from where she lowered to her pelvis and subsequently her pubic area, anticipating what she was waiting for so long.
"Be patient with me, yes?" I don't usually do this very often... not to say I never have," Sihyeon warned, looking into her eyes.
"I don't do it very much either... ah!
Sooyoung found herself interrupted by a loud moan, caused by the sudden warmth of her tongue against her slit. Her hand went straight to Sihyeon’s hair, pulling it away from her face and holding it between her fingers so it wouldn't get in the way.
Sooyoung lifted her feet onto the couch, spreading her legs wider to give her better access to her pussy. For Sihyeon it was somewhat difficult to establish a rhythm since it was her first time doing such a thing, she was only looking at how she reacted to certain motions so she could repeat them. That's how she went from unsteady movements to making Sooyoung squirm on the couch.
"F-fuck… you are a quick learner, right?" Sooyoung complained, hunching over a bit.
Sihyeon ignored her question, focusing all the attention on the little button located on the top of her pussy, using the tip of her tongue to stimulate her faster and faster. Like her dedication to making her feel amazing, Sooyoung's moans grew in both quantity and volume.
She was attacking her clit in a agressive way, capturing it from time to time between her lips to move her tongue in different directions. Sooyoung held onto her hair even tighter, pushing her face forward in search of more pleasure. Involuntarily her legs were closing, crushing both sides of the girl's face with her thighs.
"Sihyeonie… I'm close…" the older one managed to say with great difficulty, between loud moans.
Hearing this, the black-haired woman took two of her fingers to the entrance of her pussy, rubbing against it before introducing them without any warning inside her.
“Oh fuck, fuck!” Sooyoung moaned even louder, adjusting her posture on the couch to control her spasms.
Her fingers were pumping faster and faster, that, together with the stimuli carried out by her tongue, led to a wild chain of moans easily audible to anyone who passed by outside the study. It was a matter of seconds for Sooyoung to reach ecstasy.
"I'm cumming, I'm cumming!" Ah! Honey!
Sooyoung let out one last moan, squirming in her seat as intense waves of pleasure ran through his entire body. She tightened her thighs around Sihyeon's head, reaching the point of suffocating her for a few seconds, but she couldn't have cared less about it, it was totally worth it.
A few seconds later, when her orgasm had passed, she released her legs to slowly lower her feet to the ground. With her breath still shaking, Sooyoung tugged on Sihyeon's arm, she understood immediately, sitting next to her to give her a nice and affectionate kiss.
"Did I do it right?" She asked her somewhat unsure.
"You did amazing, apparently dancing isn't the only thing you're good at." Sooyoung joked with a mischievous smile.
"Come on, what are you saying." Sihyeon gave her shoulder a little nudge, taking on a reddish hue to her cheeks.
"Look at the mess we've made." The older one pointed her chin in front of her, the room was full of clothes everywhere.
"Let's ignore that for a moment, let me be a little bit like this with you."
Sihyeon wrapped her arms around her body, snuggling up beside her with his face hidden in her neck. Sooyoung passed one of her arms over her head and another around her body, strengthening her warm embrace a little more. Being slowly washed away by exhaustion, the two of them fell asleep in a matter of minutes.

CHAPTER 2
CHAPTER 3
“Deep into that darkness, peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared dream before”
— Edgar Allan Poe
"Is she going to be okay?"
"Yes. I checked the results of her scans and there seems to be no broken bones. But she did hit her head hard so I would suggest she take a rest for a couple of days."
The voices dipped in and out of your swimming consciousness like broken records. There were words that you caught and tried to grasp, but you couldn't quite make out what they mean while you struggled to emerge from your half asleep state. A searing pain ran down the left side of your head and you winced, before a particularly harsh throbbing there finally sent your eyes flying open.
The first thing you saw were the red velvet drapes hanging from the middle of what looked like the ceiling of a four poster. You frowned at it, not quite understanding what exactly it is you were looking at, when another painful throb on your temple had your hand flying towards it.
You were too focused on trying to grit back the pain that you missed the hurried rustling from beside your bed. When your vision finally focused again, you saw five heads peer at you wearing identical worried expressions.
"Hey. Are you okay?" Taeyong asked softly, concern written all over his face. He raised his hand slowly to reach out to you, but then something snapped deep down in your consciousness that sent you bolting up into a sitting position, your feet scrambling against the mattress until your back hit the headboard. Your eyes jumped from one face to the next, heart thudding harshly against your chest.
Taeyong's expression shifted from that of shock into pain at your reaction. He didn't make any other move, his gaze briefly moving instead to the person standing beside the head of your bed.
"Taeil-hyung…"
You felt a gentle hand rest on your shoulders then. For the first time, you noticed the man in a white jacket leaning towards you. He looked unfamiliar, but there was something about him that calmed you down. He peered closer into you now, brown eyes quickly scanning your features.
"Shh… everything's okay. How are you feeling?"
His soft voice slowed your heartbeat down a little. You tried to give him an answer, wincing at the scratchiness of your throat.
"Who are you?"
"I'm a doctor. Do you know where you are right now?"
Your gaze moved from him, then back to the others who are still standing on the fringes of your bed. Now that you are much calmer, you could finally properly recognize the rest of the group in the room. Taeyong sat closest to you while Haechan and Renjun hovered by the foot of the bed wearing identical frowns. Jaemin stood by the other side, his hand wrapped around Jisung's shoulders loosely. The youngest boy looked on to you, eyes rimmed with red.
You slowly nodded after swallowing the dryness in your mouth.
"The… manor…"
You visibly saw the rest of the group give a collective sigh of relief. Taeil moved to sit beside you and gently moved your face to him to quickly check your eyes with his pen light.
"She's still a little bit confused from the fall. She does look okay though," he said and you figured he was talking to the others instead of you. You frowned as you felt him take your wrist to check your pulse.
"I… fell?"
His brown eyes glanced at you briefly.
"You did. You don't remember anything?"
Before you could even respond, you heard Taeyong gently speak from your side.
"You fell on a ravine. We heard Jisung crying when we came back and came looking for you guys as fast as we could. You were unconscious when we found you…"
You let his words sink in slowly. Little by little, your memories came slipping back like little puzzle pieces that arranged themselves slowly in the back of your mind.
You remember Chenle's screams, you running into the forest, and then the feeling of falling into nothingness. Your hands balled over the blanket covering you as your head throbbed again.
"I'm so sorry, noona," your attention moved to Jisung who leaned just a little bit closer to you. He looked like he had been crying. "Chenle and I took our playing too far. We didn't think that this would happen…" he trailed off and you saw Jaemin try to soothe him by rubbing his arm.
"Where's Chenle…? Is he alright?" You asked, remembering that the boy was calling for help before your own accident.
"Yes. He's still unconscious from the anesthesia. He broke his leg from his fall but we were able to rush him to the clinic with you," Taeyong answered again.
"Is your head hurting? We had to make a couple of stitches on you, but your scans turned out fine," the doctor, who you figured out is named Taeil, asked again. Your hand raised once more to the side of your head and noticed the bandages there for the first time. One side of your skull alternated from throbbing dully to stinging sharply.
"Um...it hurts a little bit."
Taeil simply nodded and grabbed his pen to write something on the file he was holding. "That's normal. I thought you would have some short-term memory loss so it's good that you're only dealing with pain. I'll prescribe you painkillers for it."
You listened silently to what he was saying, only half understanding the context of his words. You still felt confused… like there was something you are missing.
As if he read your mind, Taeil glanced up at you again.
"Feeling confused is normal since you hit your head. You should also expect some intense headaches for a couple of weeks, maybe even some mild hallucinations. We'll try to control that with the medicine I'll give you but we're not sure how your body will react to them so just prepare yourself for the possibility, okay?"
You numbly nodded as you watched him finish scribbling something on a smaller piece of paper.
"Other than that, you don't need to be admitted to the hospital. But feel free to come back when you don't feel better after two weeks. You do have someone at home to watch over you, right?"
That made you stop, remembering that you would be alone for a couple of days. Taeil patiently waited for your answer, hand still hovering over his files.
"I… uh… I'm alone for three days but my boyfriend will be back after that…'' you finally managed to say. He frowned slightly at your answer.
"You don't have any relatives who can watch over you?"
You shook your head.
"You can stay here with us," you heard someone say and you looked over to Renjun who was still watching you with a worried expression on his face. "At least until you have someone with you at home."
The rest of the group seemed to have been taken by surprise by his suggestion as much as you were. The boy simply looked at his brothers in answer, however, a frown settling between his brows.
"It's the least we could do, right? Technically, it is our fault. And she got in an accident while at work. We can't just leave her on her own."
Taeil looked from the group, then at you. "That's not a bad idea… you do need to be under observation at least for a couple of days."
You honestly didn't know what to answer. Something told you to say no to the offer, but another part of you simply didn't have the energy to argue with the proposition. Before you could even give a reply, Jisung untangled himself from Jaemin to hold your hand. When you looked at him, he seemed on the verge of tears again.
"Please, noona? Can I make it up to you?"
You watched him, torn by the expression on his face. Finally, you gave a sigh.
"Okay… but I do need to tell my boyfriend that I'll stay over. And I don't really have anything with me…"
"You can borrow our mom's wardrobe. I think you are about the same size," Haechan offered. "Then we can just buy your other things."
You didn't know what to feel about that but nodded at the suggestion, at least for now. With the decision finalized, Taeil finally turned to Taeyong and handed him the paper he had been writing on.
"Here’s her prescription then. I have bottles of the painkillers with me but you might need to drive back to town for the sleeping pills," he said as he turned towards the older boy. "She might need it in case she gets trouble sleeping."
Taeyong nodded as his eyes quickly scanned the paper handed over to him. "About Chenle, do I also need to get him something?"
"We can talk about that separately. How about we go check him now? He must be up around this time, too."
The older boy threw you a glance and a parting apologetic smile before following Taeil who had already picked up his bag and started heading towards the door. Beside you, Jisung quickly let go of your hand to follow the doctor.
"Taeyong-hyung, I'll go with you. Noona, I'll be back later."
You watched silently as the group left and closed the door softly behind them. You still felt a little out of it that you didn't really give notice to the three boys left inside your room until you felt your mattress dip a little. A finger to your chin broke you from your reverie, and when you turned to your side, you saw Jaemin peering at you closely.
"Does it still hurt, noona?"
You blinked at his closeness, but you still felt too weak to even panic or move away. So instead, you simply nodded, goosebumps rising on your flesh as he moved to tuck a stray lock of hair behind your ear.
"I'm sorry… now your pretty face is all scratched up, too. I don't think they'll leave marks though… so we don't have to worry about that, hmm…?" His eyes roamed your features slowly and deliberately. You swallowed and finally moved away for a bit.
"Do you remember what happened? Did you slip?"
Renjun's question was the distraction you were looking for. Turning to him, you gave yourself some time to process an answer, slowly shifting through the memories that were still painful and hazy for you to fully grasp. Still, you tried to recall what you could manage, your confusion only growing as you shifted through the bits and pieces of what you could remember.
There were a few things that didn't make sense to you and a few that you were also sure to be true, the most glaring one being the impossibility of you slipping down that cliff. No, you didn’t lose your footing.
You were pushed.
"No… I didn't. Something… something hit me," you finally managed to mumble. The three boys looked at each other, mild confusion in their expressions.
"Hit you? Like an animal?" Haechan asked with a concerned tone. You slightly shook your head as you thought over that possibility as well.
The thing is… you were sure there were no other people in the woods because everyone was accounted for when the accident happened. Taeyong and the kids weren't back yet from their trip and you were sure Jisung and Chenle were in another part of the forest since you heard them call out to you. Jeno is the only one left… but the chances of him being in the woods with you were also slim because of his injury. So that only leaves two possibilities—one, being a wild animal as the culprit behind your fall, or two, that someone else who isn't part of Rosewood manor was there with you in the woods.
Personally, you desperately wanted the first one to be true, but a gnawing feeling inside of you told you no. Your head might still feel a little hazy, but there's one thing you can be sure of.
The force that sent you hurtling down the cliff? That was no animal.
They were human hands.
"Might be… an animal," you whispered more to yourself than to address the boys in the room after a while. You didn't know what pushed you to lie through your teeth, but your gut feeling told you it is the right thing to do at the moment.
Haechan, Jaemin, and Renjun exchanged worried glances amongst themselves, obviously not buying what you just said. Fortunately, they didn't seem to push it for now.
"Well...we'll leave you alone tonight so you can rest. Haechan and I will try to look for clothes that could fit you so you can get changed. If you need anything, you can just press 0 on that intercom. It connects you to Taeyong-hyung," Renjun explained gently and pointed towards a small machine on the wall beside your bed. You nodded and gathered the blankets closer to you.
"We'll go now. Rest well, noona," Haechan said as he turned towards the door. Renjun followed after giving you another apologetic smile.
You waited for Jaemin to finally pick himself up from your bed as well before allowing yourself to relax. Silently, you moved your gaze towards him, only to be met by his smile. It was strange… how even though he looked so kind and gentle, the way he stared at you still sent chills running down your spine.
"Don't worry. We'll make it up to you. We'll take care of you really well…"
----- "I can drive back tonight and pick you up early tomorrow," Jaehyun said over the phone, his voice barely concealing his worry and agitation. You gnawed on your lower lip as you stared at the view outside of your room, the night sky looking foreboding without any presence of stars. You have managed to prop yourself up against the seat in front of your window out of your sheer desperation to temporarily escape the bed. It is quite ironic, maybe even strange, how you feel claustrophobic inside despite the expansive space of your quarters.
"It's fine, Jae. I'm doing much better now," you finally managed to say as you forced yourself to look away from the view of the forest beyond. Just looking at it gave you chills even though you know you should feel safe in the confines of the manor now.
"Baby, you have stitches on your head," Jaehyun tried to say that evenly, though you know just how much he is panicking right now. For a stranger, your fiance can easily pass off as unbothered and calm most of the time, but you know him enough to read him like an open book. To be honest though... you can't really blame him for how he is reacting right now.
"Yes, but I'm feeling fine now. I don't really want you to drive back this late…and besides, your workshop just started. It's only for three days anyway,” you tried to reason out, though another part of you desperately wants him by your side at the moment. You tried your best to fight it off, however, knowing how important this business trip is for him. “I think it’s okay if I stay here temporarily while I wait for you,” you added, trying your best to sound convincing.
Jaehyun was silent at the other end of the line and you patiently waited for him to speak again, knowing full well that he is just looking for another possible compromise to the situation. Finally, he sighed.
"Are you sure you are safe there though?" He asked quietly after a while. His question made you stop for a little bit, your eyes moving towards the view of the woods from your window again.
"...yes. I have a very private room right now so I can rest well," you answered as you tore your eyes away from it and forced yourself to look at the interiors of your quarters instead. Studying it now, it looks a lot like the layout of Jeno's room so you figured you must be in the same hallway.
"That's not what I mean," Jaehyun said, and you already know what he is going to say next. "What I mean is, are you sure you can trust the people there?"
It took you a few seconds to answer that. You would be lying to yourself if you say you don't feel strange and jumpy right now, but at the same time, you also feel a little guilty for harboring such emotions when the family was nice enough to offer you temporary space and care. Sure, your accident still remains a mystery, but it’s not like you can assume that anyone wanted it to happen, especially since Chenle also ended up injured. It’s because of that reason that you simply swallowed back your nerves, chalking up your odd feelings as after effects for your fall.
"Yes, of course. They haven't really bothered me that much. I don't think we should worry about it…"
Jaehyun's silence said that he wasn't entirely convinced. It took a moment for him to finally give a resigned gust of breath.
"Fine. Keep yourself safe, okay? I will call you back again tomorrow morning. Make sure you rest tonight."
"Okay...Don't worry about me too much," you said, smiling even though you know he couldn’t see you right now.
"I will still try and see if I can cut my trip shorter, alright?"
You chuckled. There it is, the compromise.
"Okay…"
"I love you. Stay safe."
"I will… Love you too."
"Oh, and honey?" You were about to cut the call when his voice stopped you again. You pressed the phone closer to your ear once more, waiting for his last words.
"Lock the door."
Your eyes flew towards the dark oak door at the other end of the room at his words.
"Okay, I will. Goodnight, baby."
You let out a tired sigh when you finally finished the call. Maybe Jaehyun was right… Maybe it wouldn't hurt if he could cut his trip and go home earlier than planned. For now though, you don't have any other choice but at least spend the first night here to recover a little more. Your wound has honestly started stinging again, maybe because the effect of the first painkillers are finally starting to wear off.
You gave one long look around your quarters before throwing your phone on the wide four poster bed. When your gaze landed on the door once more, you heard Jaehyun's reminder echoing in your mind again.
Slowly, you walked towards it, feet padding over the lush rug that covered the whole floor of the room. You noticed that there was a double lock system installed on it at least—a knob one, and a bolt-type that can be maneuvered from the inside. You gave an internal sigh of relief when you took notice of the latter, knowing that you have at least a level of protection even from those who have keys to the house. You have started to reach out to fix both locks when the door swung open all of a sudden, causing you to stumble back a little in shock.
Haechan looked back at you with the same look of surprise on his face at the threshold. For a while the two of you just stood there, staring at each other.
"Ah, I'm sorry, noona. I forgot to knock. I'm not really used to having guests here," he smiled sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head. His apologetic chuckles finally made you unfreeze from your spot.
"Tha-that's fine. I was just surprised. Why… are you here?"
"Oh, I just have to give you this," he extended his hands over to you, and for the first time, you noticed the folded garment that he was holding. You gingerly took it, feeling the softness of silk brushing your fingers.
"Renjun and I tried to look for an old night gown of our mom's that would fit you. It is a little bit old fashioned but it's clean and still holds up together so I think that would work, at least for now."
At his words, you took a closer look at the dress on your hands before unfurling it to its full length. He was right, it does look a little dated with its long sleeves, laced collar, and embroidered hem that would probably fall mid-leg on you, but the size looks just enough for your frame. You looked up at Haechan again with a smile.
"Thank you. I think this will work… But, are you sure it is okay for me to borrow it?" You asked hesitantly, eyes falling briefly again on the dress. After all, you do know the story behind their parents, and there are some people who can get a little sensitive about the possessions of their passed on loved ones. The least you could do is to bring up the question.
Haechan, however, looked the least bit bothered. You didn't catch it because you were studying the lacework on one of the cuffs under the light, but one end of his lips curled up into a smirk as his hooded gaze moved to study the dress on your hands before grazing your form from head to toe.
"No. We don't mind. It's the only female clothing that we can offer for now, unless you want to borrow one of our clothes~?"
That immediately made your eyes snap back to him. His words were innocent, but the way his voice curled made your cheeks feel hot all of a sudden.
"No, that's not what I meant—"
The embarrassment on your face must have looked too obvious because the boy suddenly burst out laughing, his giggles sounding like a lilting tune as it floated down the hallway. You've always noticed how beautiful his voice is, but it is only now that you realized how calming it is to the ears, despite your current flustered state.
"Yah, I'm kidding, noona. I was just trying to make you feel better," he said after his laughter calmed down. You tried to give him an apologetic smile and looked down on the dress in your hands, your fingers unconsciously finding comfort from the smoothness of the silk. Haechan drank your expression silently with his eyes in the brief moment that you were distracted. You have always had this independent and confident air around you normally, but you have a more subdued nature now, probably because you are hurt.
He studied you silently as a thought formed in his mind. He may like the way you carry yourself on an everyday basis, but the way you are now?
He loves it.
"Besides… I think you'll look pretty on it," he said softly, voice sounding like whispers on skin. You looked up to see him smiling at you fondly, as if he is remembering a distant memory.
You cleared your throat before nodding. "Thank you. I'll change to this tonight. Please say thanks to Renjun as well."
Haechan gave you his signature smile and clasped his hands behind his back.
"No problem. We'll check on you tomorrow again. Goodnight, noona."
You were about to close the door when you suddenly stopped halfway as you remembered something.
"Oh, sorry. Another thing."
The boy turned back to you to give you a questioning look. You smiled at him apologetically.
"Can I ask to have some of my medications? I don't know who has it but I think Taeyong was handed my prescription. It's just that, my head is hurting again so I’d like to take some before going to sleep…"
Haechan's brows raised slightly at the realization.
"Oh, Taeyong-hyung hasn't visited you yet then? Ah… I think it's because he is still busy with Chenle. I can get them for you, noona."
"Will that be okay? Really sorry for asking this."
"Stop apologizing, it's fine," he winked and you managed to return it with a grateful smile. "I'll look for Taeyong-hyung and bring you your meds. Maybe you can get changed for now."
"Thank you, Haechan."
"I'll be back," he nodded before turning on his heels again, a spring on his step.
------- "Shhh… sweetie, don't cry. You know I don't like it when you do that, right?"
A woman bent over a boy not older than seven who was currently cowering against the shadowed corner of the room. The space didn't have any lights on, but the sliver of moonlight that passed between the small crack of curtains shone on the tear-streaked face of the child. The female in front of him gently reached out for his face, cradling his cheeks lovingly between long, slender fingers.
"Look at you, you look like a mess now… stop crying, okay?" Her voice was soft and angelic when she spoke, enough to calm down the sobs wrecking the thin frame of the child before her. The boy gave a small nod which made her smile, her dainty features glowing with happiness.
"Very good. Now… you do know we have to go through this, right? You've been a bad boy so you leave me with no other choice."
The child froze in fear but softened his stance after a few heartbeats. He mumbled softly, trying his best to keep his voice from breaking.
"Yes… mother."
The woman's expression remained somber, as if she was in pain. She gently moved her hand to run her thumb over the boy's cheek, wetting her sharp fingernail with his tears.
"You do know that even if it will hurt, mother still loves you a lot, right? Mama is doing this because she cares for you a lot and she wants you to be good... my sunshine... my precious, precious boy…"
Her soothing voice mixed with her words made the boy stop crying entirely. Instead, his eyes shone with pure adoration for her.
"Yes, mama… I know that."
The lady smiled. Her eyes scanned the features of the child momentarily before finally letting her hand holding his face drop to her side. Slowly, she straightened up again to her full height, but not before grabbing for something from the floor beside her. The moonlight caught it before it got swallowed by the darkness of the room again—a leather belt so thin it almost looks like a whip.
The woman raised her hand gracefully above her head before giving one last loving smile at the boy on the floor.
"Now, try not to scream too much… we don't want to hurt your voice."
---- Haechan softly hummed a happy tune as he walked through the wing of the house where their private quarters are. It was late at night and the rest of his brothers had retreated back into their own rooms despite all the excitement that happened in the past few hours. His gaze touched each door as he passed them, a smile curling the tips of his lips as he did.
There are a few things that Haechan believes sets him apart from the rest of his family. He isn't as physically strong as Jeno, as charismatic as Jaemin, or as patient and quiet as Renjun. He isn't as friendly and likable as Mark, nor is he also as innocent and magnetic as Jisung and Chenle.
What Haechan is, however...is smart and cunning…
He is smart enough to always be two steps ahead of everyone and cunning enough to move the pieces that he set without having to lift a finger if he wanted to. There is a subtleness in him that doesn't make red flags flash in someone’s head unlike Jaemin does whenever he can't control his neediness, but he has enough pull to get under someone's skin if he wanted to unlike Renjun who prefers the quiet and watchful approach. Oh and Jeno? He knows how to use Jeno's strength well.
He knows it enough to suggest to his brother to give a little friendly push to the right direction—or rather, to the right cliff—so the wheel can finally move. Sure, it might hurt someone, maybe even break a bone or two, but that's normal. After all, when you love, you should be willing to hurt a little.
His hums died when he finally stopped at the last room down the hallway, mind trying to picture what's on the other side. His gaze quickly glanced at the small tray in his hands carrying a small glass of water and a variety of pills that gleamed under the dim lighting. He smiled. Finally, he raised his hand to gently tap on the oak door in front of him.
"Noona, can I come in? I have your medicine with me."
He heard a soft rustling from the other side before the door finally opened. Silently, Haechan took a calming breath and tried his best to look casual at the vision that welcomed him. Of course he was right. The dress looked perfect on her, almost as if she was the original owner of it. She looked like she stepped out from a dream… his dreams.
Oh and what he would do to keep her there.
He gave her a friendly smile now as he pushed the tray to her hands. She returned it with a grateful look before studying the oddly matched colors of pills there silently. They shone dully under the dim lighting of the hallway, as if officially warning the start of something.
Yes, Haechan believes that there are a few things that starkly sets him apart from the rest of his brothers. But if he were to choose one, he would say he is ruthless. Ruthless enough to drag someone down a little, all the while wearing that sunny smile on his face.
After all, a little nightmare won't hurt anyone.
"Don't forget to take them so you can feel better, okay noona?"
