what a wild fucking night I had yesterday, as me and my friends were leaving the cinema after watching spiderman we passed by a car and heard meowing so we stopped because we wanted to pet the kitty but we couldn't figure out were it was.

after a while we figured out that the sound was coming from inside the cars engine so naturally we started to freak the fuck out, it had been raining so the kitty probably went in looking for warmth.

we couldn't just leave bc if the car was started the kitty would have probably died. we thought of leaving a note to the cars owner but by some miracle as we were writing the note the car owners showed up (they probably thought that we were stealing their car because we were all kinda circling it).

anyway the owner of the car opens the engine and we start looking for the kitty and the little baby was hiding in a small corner right above the wheel and really didn't want to come out. luckly one of my friends has really skinny arms and was able to get the kitty out after about 15 minutes of fisting the car trying to reach him.

the little baby is safe and is being cared for by the friend who got him out.

so now I am coparenting a kitty with 6 other people. every one meet our child his name is glitch (because he no-clipped inside the car)

I think my least favorite thing ever of all time is when I’m reading a fanfic and Basen and Lily are villains like NO my children would NEVER

It’s usually the case in OG Cale fanfic, now don’t get me wrong I love the guy but also his family was not all horrible, and Basen and Lily were NEVERRRR at fault. Lily is literally like, seven years old and Basen is fifteen neither of them hate their brother either. Any child wouldn’t know how to approach their older brother who doesn’t talk to them and is distant(+ is known for having a bad personality) like that isn’t their fault 😭😭

OG Cale distanced himself from his siblings to protect them, there’s no one to fault in this situation for things turning out this way because it happened due to so many combining circumstances. Like IDK! I just don’t like it when Lily and Basen are treated like bad people cause I just find it a bit ridiculous.

Basen and Lily could’ve tried talking to OG Cale, but the real question is if he would let them talk to him ykwim, his act was perfect with literally no flaws. The reason it worked so well was because no one KNEW him and he probably knew that part too. The sadness to their situation is that they all had their reasons and cared for eachother but there wasn’t really any communication

Tbh it should have been Deruth’s job to ask Cale what was wrong, he’s not like the worst father ever okay but he also has extreme communication issues! The Henituse’s middle name is practically ‘communication issues’ like none of them are very good at it I fear. Deruth clearly cares for his son a lot, but he doesn’t know how to approach Cale possibly out of guilt/fear he’ll hurt his son even more. Which is why he just let’s Cale do what he wants

I think it’s important to note that the family did have faith in Cale, they all knew he wasn’t a bad person but they were all just so distant from eachother. I don’t think Deruth would have offered KRS!Cale to go to the capital after like a weeks worth of changed behavior unless he knew that there was more to his son than what the public thought. Again I think the big issue with the Henituse family is their communication

The characters all have complicated dynamics and personalities and it’s just something I don’t like when everything is treated very one dimensional

I want to counter that other anon a bit about the Vesphire parents; sometimes a good parent isn't the best leader and sometimes a good leader isn't the best parent, it happens its really not that uncommon.

Read a story where a semi similar situation happens: the main character had a very loving father who wasn't the best leader to his people. To the point that when the antagonist takes over (also by murder), not many had problems with it because, well, the antagonist actually goes about improving the citizens' lives by doing things the main character's father neglected. It's one of the things formerly sheltered main character had during their travels: that though she loves her father and learns the reasons behind the former king's questionable choices as leader, she comes to understand why the citizens look more favorable to the antagonist and how her father really dropped the ball at doing best for her kingdom.

Hell, just staying in the IF category of stories, there are so many stories where some of the parents either lean on one of the two sides or in the middle in the 'its complicated' area, especially with mobility parents. So many, in fact, that if I attempted to list them all, then I'd probably unintentionally break the record for the longest tumblr ask sent lmao. But I'm sure just saying the lines in this paragraph already got some other readers like "yeah, there's someone who definitely comes to my mind".

First of all, if this is talking about what I think it's talking about, I LOVE AKATSUKI NO YONA.

Soo-woon is one of my favorite characters I was in love with him I'm not even kidding lmfao akshwjs he's so complicated and just great and like ugh tragic. I stopped following it after a while but I loved it so much when I was younger.

It wasn't one of my inspirations for this but I suppose the media you consume makes its way into what you create even subconsciously because MC in this also faces what their family "did" but unlike AnY, it's not as straightforward. Their bad leadership is pretty straightforward though.

I'm sure there are many more stories with similar characters as MC's parents, I think readers sometimes expect "perfect victims" and a bad villain in every aspect of the word "bad" so they want MC's parents to be amazing and not commit mistakes and don't like that Luceris is more than just a dumb murderer.

Sometimes I see comments about Jamie and "if you told me back in s1 that he'd become my fav character" and I'm so :') As a person that saw the potential, that fell in love with him and his personality, that shipped him with Roy straight off the bat at the auction episode where "Used to love watching you play" but also "To you dying" and it wasn't only about shipping but about his personality as well. The way I could see trauma from the way he talked and acted that early on in the show. The way I felt there's more to his behavior. He was charismatic and fun to watch, sure, but it's his depth that drew me to him.

Like, I'm not gonna lie, I tried to stop myself from loving him or at least not to show it much—he's mean, he's a bully, he can do better. I didn't see much support for him, but a lot of hate instead & I didn't want to get hate for openly loving him as well. Once he's nice enough, it's gonna be ok to love him and talk about it with other people, that kind of thing. Insecure, I know. Well, I was. But then with every episode I saw more and more of him & I couldn't resist. Couldn't help myself.

He's one of my fav type of characters. Jerk with a heart of gold. Traumatized. Deserved better. Wonderful. Genuinely good. Can be a brick. A precious baby boy. Can do the right thing. Self-aware. Would punch you in the face if you really deserve/need it. Soft and gentle. Like, for me, he has everything. He hits all the spots.

I knew I'll love him when I saw him. I knew how wonderful he could be. And I'm glad they went there. He is, unironically, has always been my fav. "Coach, I'm me. Why would I want to be anything else?" And in the end, he is still himself. Just loved, appreciated, and respected now. Matured (and understanding so much more about himself and the relationships he has with other people.) No longer a bully, but a good friend to the entire team.

The sky really is his limit.

And he deserves to be cherished every day of his life and be reminded what a good, precious, amazing, wonderful boy he is. He deserves the entire world. And he deserves a partner (partners?) that will treat him right and will share it all with him.

"...she wants me to be a good lad. Wants me to be happy." Exactly that. And if Jamie wants both Roy and Keeley (or either of them, or neither of them (but we know that he does)), they better fucking treat him right. Because so far, Jamie really has been fucking amazing & he should give himself some credit for that.
