my intended meaning of it stems from the Japanese culture of lucky & unlucky numbers – like in some Asian countries, the number 4 is considered unlucky due to its verbal pronunciation being close to the word "death". 42 is an especially unlucky combination in Japan as it can be verbalized similarly to the phrase "to death", which i used with Donnie to foreshadow his eventual death and essentially the death of the Resistance's last stance and the world as they know it (and also to play around with my own version of the Bad Future hehe).

basically, i was playing with the meaning of survival that is indicated by a percentage that symbolizes death as a way to covertly convey the approaching doom.

Saw a post talking about the coffee and how it was a manipulation tactic geared perfectly to Aziraphale and. That got me wondering. When the Metatron GOT the coffee. . . he asked Nina ‘does anybody ever choose death?’, with regard to the name of the shop of course, but. . .

Was. Was the alternative to Aziraphale taking the coffee (and therefore the job offer). . . death?

He is a rogue angel after all. Thwarted the apocalypse with the help of a DEMON, refused to hand over the fugitive ARCHANGEL he was harboring, consistently bending and breaking the rules where it best suits him (and his concern for humanity). It’d be in Heaven’s best interest to keep him in check.

And? Has? Anyone actually? Heard from God (from the ‘mouth’ of God and not the ‘Mouth of God’/the Metatron) since biblical times? Outside of us as the viewers, since they narrated the first season, at least?

Idk I could be way off base but. I wonder if. Crowley and Aziraphale are. PART of the Ineffable Plan? Just. Maybe to different ends for Heaven/the Metatron and God? So Heaven/the Metatron are trying to do one thing with them and God is trying to do another? I feel like the person most likely to SPEAK to God the next season is Crowley, and then it’ll all come out like it did with Gabriel. Crowley was the last person Heaven would have expected to get into Gabriel’s file so it would make sense that he gets to surprise/confuse them again, right?

on first impressions, people are afraid of Brother and people are afraid of Sanctuary but they're afraid of Sanctuary because they're worried about organ harvesting and they're afraid of Brother because they're worried about making a fool of themselves in front of her

everything about her says "do not fuck with me" but in a different way than say, David's presence says "do not fuck with me" - David carries himself and his weapons with such casual confidence that you know he could lay you out flat and he wouldn't even think about it later. he's a son of Night City. you'd have to be really good or really stupid to come at the flesh and blood of the street. Brother gives off more of a vibe of... I never bluff. I won't give you a warning if you cross me, and no one will remember you. after all, a girl doesn't get to sit in the back booths of the Afterlife without being scary good at what she does.

that's all impressions though. strangers often find Sanctuary off-putting, but their friends know they're funny and loyal and they just want to be given a chance without judgment, David is unflappable to those who don't know how much pain he's in all the time and just how much regret and fear weigh him down, most people see Brother the statuesque netrunner in the Afterlife and not soft-spoken, shy, devoted Bea on the outskirts of Night City with the man she loves, with an old photo of her brother finally framed on her desk, creaselines still visible under the glass because she couldn't bring herself to look at it for years

that's not to say there isn't truth to surface impressions. Sanctuary has done a lot of bad things to people and while they regret that they hurt their family as a Scav they don't regret the things they did; David can, will, and has put many a motherfucker in their place with his strength even as his head throbs and his vision flickers with old ghosts; Brother is brutally efficient and thorough in her work and there's good reason to fear her callsign out there in the net, but she doesn't take any particular joy in that.

anyway, the point of it all is that you can never really be sure that you know the truth of anything in Night City. being certain is a blessing granted by the people around you. tread carefully.

Considering what it is that Alastor could want from a deal with Charlie and had to share my thoughts

So there’s a few hints towards it throughout the first season, but it seems like, at least to some degree, Lilith resents Lucifer.

He became deeply depressed and kept to himself and the opening story that Charlie told suggested that Lilith was much more of an active ruler than he was. It shows her picking up Charlie and taking her away from Lucifer when she was a child in More Than Anything. It mentions that they “split up” at some point before Lilith left. And we know she’s in heaven for some reason.

So, hear me out. What if Lilith made a deal with Alastor—maybe she gave him something already or maybe she promised something to him that he hasn’t received yet in return for his half.

But either way, what if she wants Lucifer’s power (like actual physical power, she already had control over hell) and Alastor thought he could get to Lucifer through Charlie?

Bc at the end of the day, Lilith is just a human soul like Adam. There’s only so much power she can have. But Lucifer is the king of hell and a fallen seraphim. Not just an angel, but one of the most powerful beings in heaven. He beat Adam so laughably easy. He could do the same to Lilith if she tried to overthrow him. I think she wants to be fully in control, not just in her husband’s absence.

1. Are they happy with their body?

VERY much so. He is VERY aware that other people think he’s hot, agrees with them, and overall is extremely confident in himself and the way he looks. He doesn’t like himself for a number of other reasons, but this is mostly regarding his actions and personality, and his appearance has nothing to do with it. His main theme is choice and one of the reasons he likes the way he looks so much is because he chose it – in some way or another, he had a hand in every aspect of his appearance, from how he styles his hair and goatee to the tattoos and how he dresses.

2. Do they have any secret piercings or tattoos?

None of them are secret, but clothes usually cover most of them. He has four-ish very large, very visible tattoos (he’d have more if I didn’t have to Draw Them all the time). His ears are also pierced, just in the normal lobe spot, but sometimes I draw him with more; I think he probably had others that have closed over time because he forgets to put anything in them. Interestingly I've been consistently drawing in the studs a lot more lately? Probably because I changed the way I draw the structure of ears and now there's actually space for them. Also decided recently that he gets snakebites in the future, so sometimes those are there.

3. Do they collect anything?

Mmm, not really? He has a habit of picking up and buying random small items either on impulse or on accident (not paying attention to what's in his hand), so he has random stuff floating around sometimes, but he's not trying to collect them and usually ends up getting rid of them pretty quickly. Aside from that he does have a lot of band t-shirts.

4. What is their favorite music genre?

Punk and ska!

5. What music genre, if any, do they hate the most?

Country. He hates the ‘beer and hot chicks’ type pop country and finds older stuff slow and boring.

6. What is their phone background/lock screen?

Used to be a band logo though may on occasion be a random picture of somewhere in Silver City. Alistaire sometimes takes his phone and changes the lock screen to a picture of them together, usually something unflattering for Charlie; at first he changes it back every time but once they’re friends he gives up, and eventually sets pictures of them together as his background voluntarily.

7. What is their shoe size?

8. Do they have a favorite fabric or texture?

Not that I can think of tbh

9. Do they have a favorite professional sport?

He’s sort of passively into soccer, as in he enjoys it but doesn’t actively play or follow it. It’s big in Silver City because of the major league team there (Rocosa Defenders) and he, like a lot of other kids, grew up playing soccer because of this. He played on his high school team for a year or two before dropping it because he couldn’t keep up the grades required to be on the team.

10. How do they decorate their living space?

Just go check out r/malelivingspaces for an idea. KIDDING I think it's fairly normal? Probably pretty sparse as far as decorations go, but he's got some band posters scattered around haphazardly, plus pride flags. His room is definitely messy. As with his clothes, dark or neutral colors for everything. Also, HORRIBLE lighting. He can see in the dark so it'll take him months and months to get around to changing a dead bulb, if he ever does do it.
