#i feel like it’s 2015 and i’m making a fnaf timeline again

So I am a casual enjoyer of fnaf theory videos, and I am going slightly insane over people’s ideas about the timeline from fnaf3-6

And like, what am I gonna do about it? I’m sure as hell not making a youtube channel just to post a 15 minute insane ramble about this shit. I don’t have time for that and I sure as hell don’t know shit about making or editing videos.

And my thoughts are too long to be nicely explained in the comment section under the video that awakened my ire. Like, I did edit my thoughts to be more concise and comment anyway, but I don’t expect anyone to see or care about it.

I just… why does everyone think that 3 and 6 happen during the same year?????? It makes no sense! And I can’t find ANYTHING online that explains why people think that!!

Fnaf 3 is set in a scare attraction, which suggests it’s around Halloween season - it isn’t open to the public yet, though, so it’s probably set in September OR October, either works. But then that would give Henry AT MOST 4 months to set ALL of fnaf 6 into motion.

And that isn’t even bringing the 2015 versus 2023 debate over fnaf 3 into the equation!!!!!

Like, okay. I can see the logic from both sides. 30 years after fazbear closed its doors yadda yadda, 2022 or 23 makes sense (depending on what fnaf 1 date you prefer - 92 or 93). But then there’s the logbook inflation math to consider, which gives us 2015 or 2017 (depending again on the fnaf 1 date).

Personally I think the logbook holds stronger as evidence, but frankly both are valid.

However!!! There is hry223! I think that this is saying that fnaf 6 takes place in 2023 (hry is Henry as three letters, 223 is 2023 as three numbers, it just works). But NOWHERE does that imply that fnaf3 also takes place in 2023 and it BAFFLES me that some people act like it is. Just. No?!?! I mean, Scott knew that people thought 3 was in 2023. So I think this was TRYING to tell us “hey, 3 cannot be in 2023 because 6 is in 2023 and if you stick them both in that year then the timeline would be broken!” But instead people decided “hey, what if we broke the timeline for shits and giggles!”

I am just so so confused by that perspective. And yet it seems to be the popular consensus in the fandom, even crossing the barriers of the various date factions.

It feels so obvious to me that 3 takes place in 2015 or 2017 and 6 takes place in 2023. If that feels like too big of a gap, then maybe 3 is in 2015 and 6 is in 2017 since that’s the year 6 was released. Regardless, though, I cannot conceive of a universe where they take place within the same year.

I’ve got so many more notes about this, too. This post is a fucking cliffs notes. I have an entire file in my notes app of impassioned ramblings and even a numbered list of all the things Henry would have had to have done within less than four fucking months if you choose to be live they take place in the same year, AND a list of caveats to the previous list/things people could use to argue against me. Maybe I’ll post it at some point.
