You know the uncanny valley evolution? That thing where when you look at something that resembles a living being too closely and some part of your mind is screaming that it’s not whatever it looks like and to get away from it? Imagine that with the reader! They can spot shapeshifters easily because of this, but it instills the same extreme primal fear we’d experience, so it might be hard for the reader to confront them at first and they’ll instead just tell the Chain for a while.

This might be a double edged sword, though, because when Twilight is in his wolf form, the reader still gets that same feeling when “Wolfie” is looking at them, whether or not they know it’s Twilight. In this case, the first time the reader spots Wolfie approaching the camp, they probably freak out and try to avoid him, even if the Links are okay with him or if he seems familiar to them.

The bottom line is that wolf isn’t a wolf, so what is he?

Okay so they’re, as a collective, adorable.

Now these little guys were made by the foundation along side 079 in the ‘Anderson Initiative’, which, was mainly ran by the head CEO of Anderson robotics when he worked for the foundation. The reason they were made was because they could stare at 173 during breaches, and not need to blink.

This, had a slight downside however..uh..well the foundation gave them nerve sensors much like 079 (who’s, technically their brother-?). So 173 was able to easily bypass them if it caught them off guard.

So, now they basically roam the facility in seek of tickles and affection, especially moe.

Their laughter is very squeaky, and again leans more to mechanical whirring sounds rather than actual..well, laughter.

173’s origins are still a bit unknown, but its speculated it was made around the 80’s. Speaking of, it was found under a bridge outside of San Francisco.

When speaking in morse code, it’s always asking for someone to ‘blink’. And, by far, is one of the creepier anomalies on site. (Still doesn’t change the fact its still mellow, lol)

be started to get worried for his doommates so he intended to be around them more but it was just making the situation worse

so he did what he thought was logical, he pushed other people away to see if students would start disappearing, it ultimately lead up to him being captured though

trey attempted to try and manipulate you, failing miserably

overall he doesn't try very hard to escape but he still tries every now and again

ruggie, being who he is was a bit confused upon finding fresh food left at his doorstep...multiple times.... in one day

thought it was incredibly odd, he greatly took the food

and the (seemingly) last dish of the day add an odd taste and it made him light headed

when held in captivity, it depends on how you treat him.

if you treat him well (lots of food, heating & cooling, etc) he would be less inclined to escape

but if you are rougher with him, he'll try to escape almost immediately

either way he wouldn't be afraid to bite or scratch at you

he would never once stop trying to escape, but his attempts got a lot more spaced out

Jade

jade originally somehow didn't notice anything amiss at first, he was just happy finding that his terrariums were thriving more than usual and floyd was othering him less

but eventually he picked up on some... odd behaviours

so he attempted to launch his own "private" investigation, wich made it increasingly easy to obtain him

depending on if you give jade a water container or not,

A) If you have a water container he would constantly be banging on the glass or trying to break it

B) If you don't have a water container he would try and bite you or hit you, he would also refuse to drink potions that let him keep his human form

though Jade is persistent, he could live alone and not bother you but he will try and be as big an inconvenience as possible

Jamil

jamil immediately noticed changing behaviour of his dormembers, along with somebody watching him almost every hour of the day

jamil was constantly on guard at all hours of the day, but he noticed that the feeling of being watched disappeared when he was near you so he absentmindedly gravitated towards you (it made it alot more easy to corner him)

in captivity Jamil is aggressive both physically and verbally

he is constantly trying to escape no matter how long he's with you (unless if you mentally break him, but thats gonna take a while...)

he may lay off more physically later but he wont stop insulting you as long as he can talk

Rook

rook, though an adept hunter, could not for the life of him pinpoint who was constantly watching him

even if he was aware of somebody obsessively stalking him, he didn't know if it was out of hatred or love, so he was often on guard

it was hard trying to get rook into captivity, but eventually you can lure him away from other people and knock him out

while under your 'care', he'd try to convince you he's trust worthy enough for you to let him go

rook often attempts to persuade you to do something so he can get an opening to attack or harm you

eventually he turns to insulting you to see how far your willing to go

rook ends up just shutting up and refusing to talk, eat, drink water, and other necessary things

Lilia

lilia was definitely hurt when diasomnia members started avoiding him out of the blue

but at least some of the kids were more willing to try his food!

was definitely one of the harder people to capture and contain due to his hyperness

lilia doesn't like being confined, so he'd try and escape often

since lilia has probably been in a situation similar to this, it'd be VERY hard to keep him contained but if you somehow were able to; he would constantly be trying to escape wither you were there or not

he truly never gives up on trying to escape, but he mellows out and just watches you everytime your near him

i think i've made my opinions on the current arc blatantly clear to anyone who's seen me post about it before, but in case someone Hasn't, let it be known i do not like this arc. i hate it. i hate what they did to nexus/new moon, i hate how it's being handled, i hate how some of the other characters are being treated/are acting, i hate how the fandom has become so split over this arc that you almost have to pick a side and can only make friends on that side. i hate it.

anytime its a silly episode i have the gnawing thought of 'nexus is out there. perhaps being manipulated by dark sun or falling further into villainy, or something even worse.' in the back of my mind, so i can barely focus on the silly and just start thinking about nexus instead. and sometimes the silly episodes just bore me or contradict themselves or make me worried for the future. (ie, for the last one, some things that are nothing but silly jokes in the moment- such as frank- can later be considered legit serious and lore important things down the line, so i always have to keep my guard up a lil bit even around silly episodes. its rather exhausting).

and anytime its a lore ep im just not interested in it bc im more curious as to whats going on in other parts of the lore. ofc i mainly mean nexus, but im also curious about eclipse and what he's plotting. about the astrals, specifically lunar v taurus. i simply dont see the content i was hoping to see, and its been happening back-to back-to back-to back now on these two channels. so, it's starting to become unfun/boring for me.

not to mention that i just Miss the vibby games- i miss the video games very, very much and i am constantly angered at the higher ups for making the va's do more lore both because all this lore is grating and im also highkey worried for the va's. idk how stressful it must be to film lore for basically every day, but i'd bet its not the best thing in the world. i fear for even worse burn-out.

overall, this, to me, is just not a fun time in these two shows rn and im really thinking about just Ignoring this arc completely in my own canon and instead focus on past lore/silly videos. like i'll prolly still theorize about what's next and watch the eps just bc i like hearing their voices, but ive gotten past the "im angry at this for fun" phase and am more into the "im not angry anymore, just bored, sad, and disappointed with how things are turning out," phase.

this is always such a tough question for me to answer bc the concept of Having An End Goal is such a foreign concept to me. ppl are really out here trying to do specific things?? knowing what they want out of life? i could never. & honestly like... obviously i cant give that to every character bc it would get boring real fast but i think i can give it to oli. i dont think they really have something in mind!! im not sure they would be able to answer the question themself, in terms of either material or immaterial goals. like especially being. however old they are (at least a century at this point idk specifically) theyve done a lot of things, theyve had a lot of experiences, theyve definitely collected lots of stuff. i think they tend to just go after something until they either get it or get bored of trying.

to kind of answer the second part, it would depend on the specifics; they might be open about it, if they think that would help them obtain it, & they probably wouldnt ask for help but might try to convince people to help in a less direct way. they dont like to ever seem like they need assistance from other people... even when they do.

i guess for a more serious answer their main goal is just be the freedom to do whatever they want forever lmao

theyre very stubborn, so they try to convince themself that their actions were justified, that they just did what they had to, but theyre... not always right. theyll overreact & then act like they had no other choice but still feel bad about it & pretend they dont. it kind of just ends with a lot of conflicting feelings all around.

as for what theyre guilty about, um. well the killing people is definitely the big one. it hasnt actually happened often, despite the whole being a vampire thing (generally speaking the amount of blood theyd be taking wouldnt actually be enough to kill someone), but theres a few instances they havent quite gotten over yet. they still have some lingering guilt about their brothers death back when they were kids, even though it wasnt their fault. theres not much else coming to mind thats really notable, theyve definitely got some bad habits that theyre not super proud of but no particular instances that were more significant than the rest.

one thing theyre not guilty about (usually) is whatever happens as a result of them sharing the bits of information theyve picked up about people. if they dont want their secrets getting out, they should be a little better at keeping them secret.

i was wondering, how is it possible for people to be shocked by outcomes in the 3d or for anyone to ever feel like "i did not see that coming!" if everything is a manifestation and in order to manifest you HAVE to be in the state of something being true because manifestation is when self embodies something and the 3d reflects self? you can't be shocked and thrown off guard by something you believed/already knew, you can be upset but in a "woe is me, i knew it, this always happens to me, why does this always happen to me" kind of way not a "wtf? but i thought... xyz?" shouldn't everything that happens in the 3d be met with an "i knew it..." if the 3d is only ever a reflection reflecting self then how can there be supermodel's with body image issues? most people think they're "perfect" and worship them for their looks even though they themselves are super harsh on their looks and don't find themselves to be all that? should that not be what's reflecting though? not just the fact that they are "logically" attractive by society's physical standards so regardless of what they think of themselves people still find them attractive? how can there be people with mental illnesses like my grandfather who believe outright a chair is speaking and not only to him and that not actually reflect in the 3d? he's dead serious about it and at no point thinks it's strange or untrue.

the plain and simple answer is because believing something about the 3D doesn’t mean anything. you believe the 3D is one way all you want and still be “hit” with the “opposite” because belief in a dead world, a mirror with absolutely no meaning does NOTHING. thats why we say you must change SELF, it has NOTHING to do with whats in the 3D. Also, a lot of people when faced with the “opposite” do actually go to “woe is me” after the initial shock because they constantly experienced the same patterns.

as for supermodels, how do YOU know they believe people who say they’re pretty? that being said 😌 i went to the garden grove, sf, and la shows and got to talk to him a few times. it’s funny because i was really nervous and im bad at eye contact but when i was in front of him it was so easy because he’s so sweet. at the gg show i didnt get to talk with him but he came out on the other side of the gate and a security guard asked if i had anything i wanted signed (im guessing because i was the front of the line and he wanted to be nice? i honestly dont know but hector at garden amp rocks). all i had was my shoe and i had to describe which one was frank to him 😭 and he told me frank was cracking up when he handed it to him… cute…

before the show at sf i got to thank him for signing my shoe and he laughed and he was so nice and his hands were full but he put his elbow out so we could elbow bump, it was like 10 seconds tops i didn’t want to take up his time. i had to like run to my friends car to cry and be alone for a second afterwards LMAO

i was the last one to talk to him after the show because i was really apprehensive to approach him but my friends literally nudged me towards him. i was like backing up against them because i didnt want to bother him but then i looked up and he was looking at me laughing and had his arm reached out and i was like hehe okay i guess 😍😍 gsjsfjkdnd

and the next night at the troub i got to talk to him about some other things and thank him again, i don’t want to share all the details plus this is already really long 😭 he’s way too nice. i beg everyone to not take advantage of it. he’s the best, i feel so lucky that he’s still going out of his way to interact with us. and the rest of the guys are also SO NICE. tucker came off the bus and asked our line of about 10 if we wanted coffee and came back with cups of coffee for all of us which he and kayleigh decorated 😩 such fun shows, frank is everything good everyone has ever said about him. i feel so lucky

rezaren and tassia were interesting. i really like how he was structured; he was clearly very inauthentic and manipulative from the start. i think he thinks he has genuine affection for tassia, and hira and neb, but it's clear from his interactions with tassia that it isn't true. he constantly & repeatedly uses her emotions against her to get her to capitulate or to think he's capitulating only to do whatever he wants anyway, without fear of consequence because he can always just keep using her feelings against her. narratively sound decisions from the start with his writing and a really interesting aspect, and you really start to see his face crumble when miri confronts him about the reality that they (her and neb) lived. and then to cement it with neb turning away from him at the end, to refuse to allow rezaren's gaslighting of reality... love that.

i also really love that hira's choice was based off a valid criticism of the inquisition lmao. the idea of the hope people had for change - real change - only to get... nothing. do i think it's realistic for hira to have expected the inquisition to go to war with tevinter? absolutely not, but that's the point. the inquisition was created, banking on the hopes of the people, but ultimately serving its own agenda. this was a criticism of the inquisition that went unchallenged, which is something i wasn't expecting. i'm still not entirely pleased with how hira's decision to ultimately not work with the inquisition was framed (esp w the implication that meredith is going to use the circulum, which requires blood magic sacrifice which seems a bit... out of character for her) but i'm interested in the fact that she was allowed to make that decision -- the decision not to forgive, to decide the oppressed lives of millions in tevinter meant it needed to be brought down -- rather than having bioware cave and have her be swayed in the end.

my gut feeling is still that da4 is going to revolve around pitting elves and mages against each other; specifically by focusing dreadwolf in tevinter, they can bypass any and almost all of the complications that there would be in this kind of argument in the rest of thedas, because mages are (usually) the ruling class in tevinter and specifically practice elven slavery. as you can imagine, i'm not keen on it.

i was also... really quite disappointed by by the presence of a circle tower with templars guarding the outside of it right at the very beginning. that, to me, implies cassandra as divine -- specifically because fairbanks comments on the divine in tevinter being a mage, which implies that the andrastian divine is not a mage. the presence of the circle's continued existence implies bw's canon is cassandra as divine which i expected already lmao. i knew they were just going to reset everything, but gloss over the entire purpose behind the mage-templar war (which funnily enough did not even get mentioned ONCE despite presumably only happening a handful of years ago, with a LOT OF PEOPLE at the time commenting abt how they were terrified of southern thedas becoming tevinter - INCLUDING A TEVINTER ALTUS) because now the story is set in tevinter, where there aren't circles like we're used to, and templars are subservient to mages, because mages make up the imperial chantry.

it was also hysterical to me when they were like qunari are hated and elves are enslaved in tevinter! coming from the guy who STARTED CAMPING OUT IN THE FUCKING EMERALD GRAVES?????? is bioware serious like eogfjkdfgjkdfgj tevinter has many! many problems! acting like anti-non-human sentiment is specific to tevinter is an insane approach and not one most people who don't know anything about orlais or ferelden or the free marches would know! the fuckery of it all...

and OF COURSE. KIRKWALL.
