The Definitive Offical Megalovania Ranking

1. MeGaLoVania (Homestuck)

2. Megalovania (SSBU)

3. Megalovania (Undertale)

4. Megalovania (Halloween Hack)

I tried to make this ranking as bias free as possible but me currently being fixated on Homestuck probably impacted my ranking slightly im gonna be real. The Homestuck version is genuinely really good though - the use of guitar (and that one solo near the end) just pushes it over the others for me

I have to rank the SSBU remix just above the original because I'm a sucker for orchestral sounding songs, and that bridge near the middle is just so good. That and the inclusion of the Heartache + Nyeh Heh Heh! motifs easily makes this the superior Undertale Megalovania IMO

Megalovania (Undertale) is undeniably a classic (and still goes incredibly hard) but it just doesn't do it for me anymore in the same way it used to. Compared to the SSBU remix or the Homestuck version it just doesn't hit as hard (which may partially be because it's mainly chiptune? Don't get me wrong - I love chiptune music - but the guitar in the previous two (and the orchestral bridge in SSBU) just goes harder.)

And finally we have the Halloween Hack. At first I was slightly worried my judgement might be biased since it's the only Megalovania where I haven't been invested in the source material at all, but after relistening to it I feel pretty confident in my ranking. It's basically the Homestuck MeGaLoVania without the guitar (AKA the best part)
