Hi so 10 chapters out from finishing my reread of Tokyo ghoul and I have thoughts

So I think it's VERY well paced at the beginning but by the time you hit the halfway point the pacing goes insane?? Like you go from a relatively normal guy that's turned into a ghoul and experienced the horrors -> well he's suddenly being tortured oh and everything bad is happening all at once. I feel the early chapters did good at keeping the balance between the characters and all the adjustments kaneki had to make but the later chapters are just like?? Here's a ton of action also here's kaneki being traumatized and here's ccg content. Which is fine but it's like?? It just felt like ishida was trying to rush through the last half of it and didn't properly pace stuff. I remember having the same issue w re so I'm very intrigued on where that's gonna go and how I'll feel about it now

#twist rambles #like the random chapters focusing on uta and yomos childhood friendship are great and im glad theyre there but that throws pacing off+#so much when theres already like??? one million things happening. like it felt ishida realized the 20 million plot threads he had going on+#realized he had to finish it up somehow but was like just throwing shit at the wall to see what works #i feel a lot of the latter half of it also characterizes kaneki in such a weird way #like the charm for me st the beginning was seeing a normal guy spiral into the horrors. idk if this makes sense but #Tokyo ghoul #< for blocking purposes
