Tell us about Lavellan's wedding!
Hooo boy, alrighty!
I'm terrible at writing out my daydreaming, but I'll try to make this understandable
So first thing, it's a spring wedding, of course
Eelis finally goes back to his clan and brings Dorian along. Obviously everybody wants to hear the stories, especially the ones about how he finally managed to get a boyfriend.
Now I'm still unsure on who ends up popping the question, but it's definitely not Eelis or Dorian. Maybe some excited older aunt, or one of the children, who still don't know the difference between promise rings and regular ones.
Tey laugh it out at first, but he idea doesn't seem so bad after a bit, and by the end of the week, another party is being thrown.
The whole camp is decked with flower wreaths, garlands and ribbons, and theres a little stage area being set up in the middle.
The couple, with their fancy robes and hot af flower crowns, walk through the crowd and join the Keeper at the centre, as everybody gathers all around them, and the ceremony begins.
First, the couple drink some spring water from the same cup. Then, they are each given a torch, and the Keeper lights both with the same spark
As they hold their torches in their right hands, their left hands are joined and tied together with a ribbon, ad the Keeper pronounces the ritual and they share their vows. This is the tricky part, because the flames have to stay lit through the whole thing, otherwise it's bad luck, and the Keeper can take their sweet time, as a lil test for the newlyweds
But after that, the hands are untied, the torches placed in their rightful holders and the couple is finally bound!
Now the torches are kept alight for days on end with help from the whole clan, to assure a long life to the couple, while the flower crowns are pressed and left to the couple's respective mothers.
I like to think Dorian did send his to his mother, and that she ended up keeping it.
Also, Eelis packs several pouches with the flowers used in the ceremony, to share with their friends back at Skyhold (especially Cassandra who is very cross at the idea of not having been invited)
#it looks better in my head but trust me its very romantic#also hey thanks for the ask!!#i always love talking about pavellan#i ended up explaing the actual ceremony really dryly but i suck at writing sorry#dai#ask#folksblog#bees talk
