the current vibe:

so i have to be in at least three classes to have health insurance as a dependent (what? the fuck?) so im taking two classes at one college and one at the other. me, not knowing that i had to be taking three classes, had dropped the single class at the outlying college, because i think its bullshit and i dont want to learn spanish at the same time im learning steno that sounds like hell. and im already having the worst time maybe anyone has ever had trying to get into the steno classes because FUCK [name] college their customer service is slow as shit all their systems are separate and their website hasnt updated since 1802. whatever. im planning on taking online classes because its ~50 minutes away by car and i have work but i eventually am struggling so much that i go to the actual campus to get help. and theyre like ok you have an account now. and im like jesus fuck ive been waiting WEEKS. and we get me signed up for the two classes. one of them doesnt have a waitlist so we chill, the other has a waitlist. i get home and im off the waitlist and im like fuck yeah my guy. and it says i have 48 hours to register. and im like alright. so i read the email and its like just get urself off the waitlist and register :3 and im like thats not helpful. so i go into the registering website thing and am clicking around and i dont see anything thats like ur off the waitlist click here to confirm. so i go back to the email and theres a link to detailed instructions. and im like fuck yeah my guy i love detailed instructions. anyway it was a dead link and i want to also be a dead link. enter image of link from zelda being dead idk. anyway. i remember what the front desk guy said about removing the waitlisted class and then reentering/reenrolling and im like that seems fucked but whatever ill do it. and its like ur on the waitlist :D! and im like damn fuck this so i email registration with the email i got and my problems. anyway its been like a week and they havent gotten back to me so now i have one (1) class and i need at least three and class has started so i cant even get into non waitlisted classes without emailing the profs which is BULLSHIT!!!! i hate email and i hate the internet i think i should live in the woods like monkey d luffy

basically tiktok has introduced me to the wonders of knitting and crocheting and so i wanted to make a big nice blanket out of that chunky wool but not the wool roving stuff just chunky yarn. so i got my mom to let me buy like 50 dollars worth and even though ive ordered things online millions of times i dont think i put in our apt number so the address might not be right, and im almost certain i put the correct email yet i havent gotten a confirmation email yet so i dont know the order number and if it turns out ive ruined the order and it doesnt come to our place then ill have to tell my mom i wasted 50 dollars of her money because theres no refunds and ill probably have to pay her back.. anyways so i was worried so i emailed customer service and theres a 1-2 day wait time so i dont even know if they can help and i dont have an order number so if they cant look it up with the email or the address or my phone number then im screwweeddd. but thats the latest thing my anxiety has latched onto and i can’t stop thinking about it.

best case scenario, the address is actually correct and even though i didnt get the confirmation email it should come in about a week or two.

ehh scenario, the customer service lady can help and either confirm the address is correct or change it and let me know the order number.

ahhh bad case scenario, the customer service people cant do anything and what i described above happens :(

basically i cant do anything but wait which is the worst so lets hope the customer service people take pity on me

edit: the customer service lady sent me my invoice and number so now i know the orders fine and the email was fine but i also now know that I DIDNT PUT THE APT NUMBER IN so now i have to hope shes able to change it somehow idk haha where is it gonna go if it doesnt have an apt number

edit: AHHHHH they can’t change the address after shipping but they’re sending a replacement to the right one!!! Been dreading going back to work all weekend. Friday was so shitty these people just CANT have a chill day. They choose to attack the customer service crew. Then when we refuse to accept the shit they throw at us, they act like were disrespecting them. Like we had 15 minutes of peace on friday before they barged into the office and shit hit the fan. That wont fly. I mean shit we didnt even have time to read the email before they came up demanding answers. You complain that youre tired of fixing our mistakes. Uh last i checked you left the office to work in inventory why are you even concerned with this? Its fixable. As a matter of fact you told ME OVER THE PHONE the DAY BEFORE that that part of the order wouldnt go. So it got shipped. Sit down with your selective memory. Instead of FIXING things, you made things worse. You call in the angry lady on her day off so i have to deal with her insults and doors slamming cause i work in the lobby. AND THEN TO TOP IT ALL OFF you made us wait 4 HOURS because what should have been done for that order WASNT EVEN READY HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU COMING FOR US WHEN YOU HAVENT DONE YOUR FUCKING PART OF THAT ORDER ITS LAUGHABLE

We need to set boundaries. Dont talk to customer service for at least an hour once weve opened.

Last night i was so tired but kept thinking that if i dont go to sleep, tomorrow wont come...and now here i am. Behind schedule.

Screwing up our Save the Dates... And watching my fiancee tear up enraged me to a level I never knew... Like I love her so much and on such a primal level that just half tears in her eyes

Let's back up a bit.

Wedding Planning Pt2: invitations

I'm kinda jumping ahead of a bit but im pissed rn so we'll circle back around to the cute fun stuff of this topic. I'm sure by now you all have seen our bomb ass engagement photos. We loved them so much we wanted to use them as our save the dates!

We ordered our save the dates through this company. Being the life-long procrastinators we have chosen to be admittedly we sat on this longer than need be. So we Paid extra for the faster shipping. We get all giddy and excited because it's just one more step towards our new lives. Of course she goes to check on it first ... But the tracking number we received was not working. Called customer service and TREVOR explained that somehow our save the dates were lost!!

Some shit about the post office not scanning the box or something. Now they are a small business, probably have one person taking mail. Part of me felt like they just forgot to put the box in the mail. None of that mattered though. We NEED these save the dates ASAP.

He assured us he was print us new ones and they would be shipped out immediately and they would refund me The extra shipping cost. I lightheartedly tell him The misses will kill me cuz The was my task so don't worried about refunding the money and if we have to pay more to get same day shipping we'll do that. Apparently they can't do same day shipping which makes no damn sense but whateva. The next morning the original package mysteriously  gets an update on the tracking number. Interesting... But regardless Trevor said he would send us a new set. Then we get an email. They TOO have noticed movement on the package and now will WAIT and see before they send a new set.

Um..

..No. We explain to them that we could not afford to wait, which is why we paid extra for the shipping anyway. I asked again for Trevor. He said they understood and would go ahead making the second batch. They were just "letting me know"... Ok... A day goes by and we reach out again because we havent got a tracking number for the second batch. They tell us that the second batch did not pass its quality control inspection and now they have to print a THIRD batch which would take another 3 days!!! They said the good news was that it looked like the original batch would be there the next day anyways. Upon hearing this my sweet little future wife begins tear up off pure frustration. Because honestly, and tell us if we wrong, but it really felt like our original assumptions about them just forgetting to mail the first box was correct. And now they are dragging us along until it shows up so they don't have to make a new box...

Am I wrong?

At this moment my patience had worn out.

I demanded to have this new batch made and shipped the same day because at this point we had wasted too much time to get a refund and go anywhere else. They gave me some b.s. about having a contract with USPS and can't do same day. I demanded to speak to a higher up which i was denied.

Fuck that.

You see the unseen problem small businesses have is that They rely too much on their own social media. So finding the CEO was only a click away.

And I sent him a lengthy FB msg

After that They assured me I would be getting my package that day and give me a full refund. Of course I had heard this three times already. I told them I would NOT get off the phone until my packing is literally in the hands of the postman and I get an email SAYING it was shipped. I'm not kidding you guise. I put the phone on speaker at work at say there with them for 5hours.

They actually sent a picture of the box on the truck and then tried to hang up on me! Hold up. No. I said I needed both the picture AND update on the tracking. Not just being a dick about the situation but if we all remember in the beginning how this all started was them saying "the mail man must have forgotten to scan it..." So you will WAIT with me as I refresh until it says on the way. But I felt bad for the poor girl on the phone, syd I think her name was. So I said this is Trevors fault put his ass on the phone.

There was a strange silence then she says he's out of the office... I really hate when people try and play you like we haven't all worked customer service and managers have given us the I'm not here face

I asked when he would be back and she says she can't give me his schedule. I then tell her if I have to call back for him the civility of this interaction, which was already at a low point, will be null. Further more I have enough sky miles to fly to Utah in the morning if I have to.... By this time the tracking has updated... She tries again to get off the phone. I say where's Trevor.. Oh he has magically reappeared.

Sounding annoyed by having to talk he immediately goes into this bland ingenuine corporate apology. BUT instead of apologizing on behalf of BasicInvite.com this foo says he stands by the quality and service of BasicInvite.com and he apologizes for USPS!?

Bruh...

How you gonna be so self absorbed you gonna blame the Untied States government.

Even if it's true they messed up the first box, which I still don't think they did. What about the 2nd box? Why did I have to curse two poor customer service reps out for you to figure out how to do same day shipping? He then tells me he thought maybe we were trying to get something for free

I went ALL the way off.

I said several times I didn't care about the money for these cheap ass save the dates I wanted the save the dates! I even suggested paying extra. So where in the fuck you get the idea I'm trying to get over?.. He hung up. I called back and got poor syd answers. I say put Trevor on the phone she again says he's not taking calls. I told her I will call everyday for the rest of this year until Trevor or Brock takes my call and gives me a real apology.

They truly had no idea who They just crossed.

I called everyday And only saying hello can I speak to Trevor til They blocked me. I then used the website chat. They blocked my IP from going to their website, then gave me a refund. I went to Starbucks used two pcs and vpns til they had to install a new chat service that could block instantly. Still all I said was hello I need to speak to Trevor. Finally getting a formal cease and desist email I stopped.Trevor you should thank your god that my god put a woman in my life with some sense because I was really prepared to torture you for the rest of my living days.

So now I have double the save the dates and nothing to do with them. If It were up to me I'd burn the whole lot of them post the video on IG and tag BasicInvite.com

Anyone out there listening please do not use these people. I should have known from the name they some basic bitches.

Royal Mail winning the award for "worst customer service i've ever experienced"....

So back in January, I ordered a little something with my Christmas bonus.

Its made to order, so only shipped near the end of February.

About 2 weeks after I get the shipping notice, I realise it still hasnt turned up here. Its coming from the USA, so long shipping times isnt unusual. But i look at the tracking anyway.

It made it to the UK on the 26th of Feb. From there it was "delivered to *my local delivery office* by mistake, we're re-routing it" And uh... well thats kinda weird? That IS my local delivery office after all, not sure why thats an error?? So I keep an eye on it for a few days, and it still hasnt moved. I also notice its got a customs fee to pay, so I try and pay it even though I haven't had a grey card come in. Its... not payable. Because a delivery date cant be selected - this is because the system believes it to be in transit between two destinations.

So on the 16th March I contact RM like "hey whats up with this? Its gone to my local delivery office, only to be re-routed somewhere?? Can you find it?" It takes a few days but i get a response- its being looked into, heres a case number, give us 10 working days to investigate.

So I give them 10 working days. Translating to two more weeks.

In that time, I hear nothing. So I bump the email- not heard anything, really would not like this package to be returned to sender. Re-iterating the cost of the package, and that its made-to-order so not easily replaced...

When that gets a response (the next day) its just "oh we have no idea why its not been delivered to you, it should have by now. Get the seller to claim on the insurance". No mention of trying to actually find it. Hell, by the sounds of the email they just looked at the tracking and went "well that should have been delivered by now". Which, you know, was not exactly new information to me.

So i DO contact the seller, who just believes its still at the depot just waiting for the fee to be paid off. Which, yeah, I kinda believe it is too! .... Except I cant pay it, and the location of the depot is inaccessible to me. Its literally a 20 minute drive, that takes a 50 minute bus journey... across 2 bus companies (:. And the second bus is not exactly... frequent. I explain its not quite as simple as pay off the fee, because the tracking is showing all kinds of nonsense. Its got like... 2 to 3 "arrived at *my local depot*" time stamps, its somehow stuck in transit between 2 locations and at this point has been for over a month. And thats why the fee can't be paid.

And this sparks a theory in my mind- I think this tracking number has been accidentally scanned for multiple packages. One of those packages followed it to my local depot, but it wasnt supposed to go there. When it was scanned to leave my local depot, MY tracking number was used. But when it arrived at the actual location its supposed to go to... its real tracking number was used. Meanwhile my package has just been sat in my local depot this whole time, not moving. However its tracking number is stuck at "in transit" because its not been scanned as "arrived".

I told Royal Mail this. And once again asked "can someone look for it?" Because if someone FINDS it, and simply scans it as "arrived" in my local depot, ALL OF THIS WOULD BE FIXED. I could pay the fee, and arrange redelivery in the next couple of days. If it can't be found- it really did leave my local depot somehow.

This morning I get a response. Its a straight copy and paste of the last response i got, but from a different name than the last time. .... I was pretty sure up to this point that no one in my local depot had been made aware of this issue, and at this point I think its confirmed. today started early. I woke up to uncle frank banging around in the kitchen.

I got up made my vegan diabetic oatmeal concoction and studied for s bit.

I also had to call my cal works worker and my child support case worker.

I called the customer service line, (i don't know what else to call it) and talked to one of the phone operators from the child support agency. she gave me my case workers phone number and email. I tried to call her number but the message said she was out of the office. I did send her and email requesting a phone call but I havent gotten a response yet.

then I called my calworks worker she called me back and shit got sorted in like 5 minutes.

I laid on the couch with the dogs for a couple of hours, at some point I passed out.

I woke up to the goose doing his chores. I made him somthing that my grandma used to make me when I was really little. its simple. a buttered tortilla with cheddar cheese baked in the oven. I made myself one too. I can remember her singing to me and giving me a bath in the sink when I was a baby. I loved her so much. i am so proud of my friends and shit who graduated school this year and i hope they go on to do amazing things. but i hate seeing the photos. the photos of their smiling happy faces with their peers and proud families. it all just reminds me of how i tried this previous year but it wasnt like i tried hard, i got sick and made excuses. i told lie upon lie upon lie until i didnt even know the truth anymore. i tried but i didnt. i tried where it was convenient and easy for me to do. i lied saying i had gotten doctors notes and went to the right people to get help for missing classes. that i emailed my prof after she failed me bc i assumed she would say no. no to a kid too lazy to even call their school to set things up a kid to her didnt even try or put effort into what she was teaching. so why should she pass me?  fuck im so pround and happy for y’all but i fucking hate myself for almost eveything. instead of talking to someone im typing this whining shit on tumblr only to delete it later. i try and talk with my parents but dont get the reactions i want, i want my dad to understand that depression cant be cured by me going outside and doing things. that me sleeping all the time is all i can do and that getting up for work is sometimes the hardest thing i’ll do that day.  at work (like may others) i put on that customer service face and hide it all away, listen to their issues and get them new eggs when they grab broken ones. i come home and immediately go back to my bed. sit here on the internet wishing i was better than this. better than writing shitty letters to the internet, better than what i tell people. i just want to be back in the city with my friends and close to a school i hate but love at the same time. i feel likei barely getting by there, that people havent realised how fake and stupid i am. sure i can make cool looking things but i have no depth. theres nothing behind it, no facts, no research, nothing. just me faking it in a half-assed attempt to function. i know that i am sick and that i need help and that i started to get help. but these meds feel like nothing to me, and words therapists tell me only help me right then. i feel like im always going to need someone to hold my hand and parent me around to get things done, but i cant just lump myslef onto someone to be my living daily reminder/ parent. im an adult, apparently. i know i can and have asked for help, but people cant stay with me forever in a blanket fort forever. they have to live their lives too. and i know that loving someone is hard but i dont even know if i do and i know that they dont feel that way about me and im just latching on bc they truely care about me. but i cant help it. i like them so much and us together would never be healthy. i wish i didnt fidgit so much so i could enjoy cuddling more...

Most of those options also get poor reviews (and low customer satisfaction scores). There are plenty of choices in the world of compact cars, however, and at prices that dont scare me. Both the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Prius are highly-rated and affordable. That said, if I bought a compact car, Id probably pursue a Mazda 3 or Hyundai Elantra. Plus, Id have to consider the modern Mini Cooper. (My ex-wifes boyfriend is a mechanic and fellow Mini fan. Hes warned me that newer Minis are both larger and less reliable, so Im skeptical that Id choose a Mini again. But I do love mine.)

I have no desire to own a luxury automobile, but I can certainly appreciate the design touches. If Kim were to buy a new car, shed buy the Tesla Model 3. Shes a fan of electric vehicles. If she cant afford a Tesla when it comes time to buy a new car, I suspect shell end up with a Honda or Toyota hybrid. (Im not sure, though. I havent asked her.) She just wants a comfortable, reliable car to get to and from work, and for us to use on long road trips. Me? Well, Ive delayed answering this question for more than 1000 words because I dont really know which car Id buy if I had to buy a new car. Lets think it through together. I prefer smaller cars. I have zero desire to own a modern truck or SUV. I dont want a minivan. I dont want a large sedan. I like vehicles with small footprints. Theyre easier to park, fuel efficient, and generally more agile.I like something a little sporty. Im not a fast driver, but I do like to be able to accelerate now and then, either to overtake another car or to enjoy twisty country roads.I want a car with ample cargo space. As I mentioned earlier, I haul stuff all the time, so I want a vehicle that lets me carry stuff from the hardware store. Itd also be nice if I could transport a kayak or two. (Believe it or not the Mini has decent cargo room. It certainly has more usable cargo space than Kims Accord.) Based on this, Id focus my search on three classes of vehicles: compact pickup trucks, compact cars, and subcompact cars. Unfortunately, compact pickup trucks are a dying breed. Yes, Ford is bringing back the Ranger in a few months, but currently there are only five options in this category. The only one that gets good reviews is the Honda Ridgeline, and that costs $30,000 or more. There arent many options in the world of subcompact cars, either. Most of those options also get poor reviews (and low customer satisfaction scores). There are plenty of choices in the world of compact cars, however, and at prices that dont scare me. Both the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Prius are highly-rated and affordable. That said, if I bought a compact car, Id probably pursue a Mazda 3 or Hyundai Elantra. Plus, Id have to consider the modern Mini Cooper. (My ex-wifes boyfriend is a mechanic and fellow Mini fan. Hes warned me that newer Minis are both larger and less reliable, so Im skeptical that Id choose a Mini again. But I do love mine.)

The Bottom Line So, which new car would I purchase? Honestly, I dont know. I dont want to buy a new car, and I hope I dont have to make this sort of decision for many years. Having said that, I am absolutely in the market for a beat-up but reliable pickup preferably a compact pickup. Something like this seems perfect:

As a wildcard, I suppose a used Subaru Outback might be a smart choice for me also. (Actually, a Subaru Outback would be an excellent choice for our current lifestyle.) The older I get, the more I view vehicles as tools. Theyre not status symbols for me. I dont get an adrenaline rush from a souped-up sports car. Right now, I want a car that runs reliably, allows me to haul stuff, and doesnt take up a lot of space. Thats it.
