The beast is upon us

i’m sure it’s been surreal for everyone but it’s been a weird fucking october for me. like this is the first october in literally 5 years that i didn’t do psychtober - which i wouldn’t have done even if the psychtober blog didn’t get deleted with bassiter bc i’m just not into psych like at all anymore - so i had no big projects to work on. at least not with writing or art. i made some cool horns and got some good pics, i put together a super long halloween master playlist, i drew like one thing, i watched a decent handful of movies with my best friend, and i baked a lot and consumed an ungodly amount of pumpkin over the course of the month. and i guess that’s decent enough but it still just feels so fucking weird.

and then TONIGHT specifically was like. well i actually went out for the first time in years. and obviously there’s a pandemic so i expected it but it’s SO fucking eerie to see the roads nearly empty on halloween. i was just out to grab some candy from the Take One bowls and see some decorations and have an excuse to allow ppl to see me in my horns but it was also super weird to just be out alone. 

also odd was that i had a car stop next to me as i was walking and i thought that it was my mom and her bf, partially bc the woman in the passenger’s seat was wearing a jacket that looks like what my mom was wearing, but it wasn’t them. but it looked a LOT like them. like straight up just slighly chubbier doppelgangers. and later i happened upon a dog that had a collar but no tag, and it was friendly but kept running away from me at first. then i was able to call it to me by just patting my leg and it followed me around for a while. lowkey feel like it was the spirit of halloween or something (though i know for a fact other ppl could see it bc someone asked me if i’d lost a dog when it was getting away from me)

anyway i think my biggest issue is that i feel like i’m wasting tonight if i don’t do anything special for the first full moon on halloween since 1944 BUT i have no idea what i COULD do. however i’m gonna be up all night and samhain traditionally isn’t over until sunset tomorrow so i hope i can still do something other than finishing bly manor and doing my annual rewatch of otgw

January

PMD TIME...I think I was right in the middle of my PSMD playthrough, and of course these two had my heart and always will...it was a really fun playthrough!

February

ELIAS AND GIFRE’S 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!! You can see them in February of 2017, too, when I drew them for the first time! My favorite kids

March

Ah, yes...when I finally got back into Mother 3 :’D It became Claus Time for me again essentially LMAO 

April

It’s been tradition since 2016 to draw an anniversary piece for Mom 3, so of course I had to include this year’s! Unfortunately since it’s a long vertical piece I couldn’t really fit the whole thing into that square (so Claus is cut out :’0) but it still turned out really nice I think!

May

YUJIKIRI TIME BABEY!! I watched season 3 of SAO and that was it. I was a goner. These two are so perfect together, please just let them be happy sOB

June

I didn’t actually do a lot for June other than tons of pride icon requests, so I decided to go with when I designed Ikaia!! He’s baby. 

July

I fell back into Gravity Falls HARD lmao and it was so good to come back after like three years of being away. I got really into Timestuck fics back in July and so I drew some Timestuck kids!!

August

August was when I came up with the concept for The Time Marauder, as well as my designs for Emilio and Alekos!! This is the first original thing I’ve done in a while outside of ATS, so it was really refreshing to work on something brand new. I LOVE THESE KIDS SO MUCH

September

It was REALLY hard for me to pick just one piece for September because that was a month where I did a LOT of really good art;; but I settled on Diodeshipping because 1. I love them and 2. it was appropriate since I was right in the middle of rewatching XY back then!

October

OTGW time...I redrew a really old piece (the one for October 2015, actually!) and it was crazy to see my progress!

November

The time when PnF struck, and the rest is history...this is still one of my favorite artworks, I really love Perry and the boys, so much :’0c

December

I had a lot to choose from in December as well but I settled with the Secret Santa gift I made for my pal Kourt because I REALLY liked how it turned out! I don’t do complex backgrounds like this often so it was a lot of fun to experiment. And I love Lapis and Peridot!

Anyway I’d just like to say thank you to all of you again for sticking with me and watching me grow this year...it’s meant so much, and I’m SO grateful. This year I graduated college and I hit 15k followers on here so a lot of wonderful things have happened, and I just. THANK YOU for your support! I honestly couldn’t have reached this point without you guys. I hope you stick with me in 2020 as well! New decade, new beginnings right? :’D

I drew the Beast from Over the Garden Wall for day fifteen, since I’m about to start my yearly OTGW rewatch.

My brother was surprised to see how cute I was able to make this horrific demon. I assured him that, while I had considered drawing the Beast’s true form, I chose against it once I realized that it would mean drawing a huge amount of heavily textured wood. It’s easier to stick to this less detailed form.
