She wants to be a world renowned surgeon to help people and make the world a better place.

Uploading her is a chore because she doesn't want to export properly! It's super annoying! chewybutterfly (this is her tumblr) has donation based tiers, so all the content is free!

simcelebrity00 (@simcelebrity00 on tumblr) has a lot of cute clothes, hairstyles and accessories! i would say that the style is very elegant and minimalist.

Sunivaa (@sunivaa on tumblr) posts wonderful, otherworldly hairstyles for female and male sims (as well as kids!). there's some other content as well, like some poses, skin details, etc. there's a ton of content for free.

if you are looking for kid's cc, look no further than Lillka's patreon! (could not find their tumblr!) i mostly download cute infant/toddler/child clothes from them! super age appropriate and very adorable (and looks great in-game!)

Joliebean (@joliebean on here!) makes incredibly cohesive clothing collections (with hairstyles too!), which i love for making sims in a particular aesthetic. the cc is also super high quality. although members get early release, everything is eventually available for free! Get To Know You - Sims Style

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I haven’t had any sims die recently, but I do have one wild story from several years ago.

When my 2nd Gen heir Maya and her sister went off to university, they stayed in the sorority house. The general university shenanigans were taking place (sims not cleaning up after themselves, piles of laundry everywhere, etc.), but I didn’t realize some of their roommates weren’t eating... until it was too late 😬

THREE (3) girls in the dorm died in one night! Two of starvation and the third from thirst (idk how she became a vampire). Since they all died so close together, the Grim Reaper just hung around the dorm until he reaped all of them. I had Maya collect their tombstones and take them back with her to Lucky Palms when the semester ended. Now they’re all resting in the mausoleum, hopefully in peace lol.

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Maxis-match with some alpha pieces here and there. Though I feel like the line between what’s considered maxis-match and what’s considered alpha in TS3 is way more blurred that in TS4.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Rarely. Some of EA’s premades are just so skinny sometimes!

Do you move objects?

All. The. Time. I can’t remember a time where I’ve played or built without it on. It makes it so much easier to squeeze sitting chairs or plants or floor lamps into tight corners and make nice collages of different wall art that overlap each other a little.

Favorite Mod?

Gosh there are so many mods that I absolutely love, and lately the TS3 modding scene has been putting out banger after banger, but my most recent favorite mod is @thesweetsimmer111′s More Toddler Interactions! I love being able to feed toddlers outside of the highchair and actually give them baths. And Savanita’s animations are always so cute!

Probably my test sim, Leia. I created her from scratch and use her to test my mods and any CC I download, but lately I’ve been thinking of actually playing out her life. She’s also the adult sim in my Yoga Mod cover photo. Here she is!

I did a few years ago, but I never got around to playing her. I wonder if I still have my simself’s household somewhere...

I haven’t used an EA preset hair in 10,000 years, but I guess the black one isn’t too terrible.

I feel like Young Adult is a boring answer, so I’ll say Teens lol.

Mostly gameplay (and testing mods/cc :p). When I build, it’s usually remodeling the interior of an already existing build.

Yes!! I started with TS4 to TS3 conversions, but I’m also a modder now 😁

The Sims 3 community on Tumblr is pretty small, and I feel like we all know, follow, or are in a Discord server with each other (shoutout to the TS3 Creator’s Cave members!!). So, in a way, we’re all in the same squad ✌

Unfortunately, no.

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I used to exclusively play with families and progress through a few generations, but recently, I’ve been playing with more single sims to experience parts of the game I hadn’t really touched on before. I’ve also gotten a lot better at avoiding “same face” syndrome when I give existing sims a makeover or make them from scratch. Getting more comfortable with custom sliders has definitely helped with that too.

The Sims 3: Seasons! I love watching the seasons change, the holidays, the festivals, and the feeling of progression. I also love snow and the winter season in real life, especially when I was younger, so seeing my sims going about their day in a snow covered world is very nostalgic for me.

Does your oc have a lot of clothes and how much of it do they actually wear?

thank you so much for the ask! i was unprepared for this so i've been trying to think how best to answer lol. i have so many ocs so i picked mai randomly. answer under cut bc it's kind of long D:

mai loves clothes. she's also the kind of person that looks cute in anything. i don't think it's to the extreme that she only wears things once, but her closet is in constant rotation and she has more clothes than most of my sims.

that being said, she's good at letting go of clothes and frequently donates large amounts of her clothing without hesitation. her closet a year ago was almost completely different from her closet now, save for a dingy, sentimental tshirt or two

on the more practical side of this, i hoard cc so all my sims have a shit ton of clothing lol. for mai specifically, i find myself downloading cc with solely her in mind sometimes

Gregory would play the sims 4 and only so he could do that insane shit like removing the ladder from the pool but way worse. he'd sometimes download like the extreme violence mod or the car crash mod or whatever it is and just bring down chaos on whatever world he wants. he'd have every expansion back because he pirated them easily and he'd use the features he gets to do even more insane stuff. hed do like saw games or something where he'd put 8 sims in a maze and see who gets to the middle. or he'd do the squid games or something.

if he wanted to play for real i can see him doing challenges like rags to riches but he plays it to the absolute extreme and will be insane and plan on getting a rich spouse and murdering them for the fortune but he'd play the long game and get away with tons more stuff before finally biting the bullet

Cassie would play the sims 4 and have like. cc backgrounds of either the glamrocks or just cute pastel colors as her cas/loading screen background. she'd have millions of custom content on her laptop and spend 4 hours making a cute girl sim and then go in game and only play for a while. she'd get as far to have a kid with another sim and for that kid to maybe grow up a bit then she'd get bored and repeat. she'd also attempt things like the 100 baby challenge but never get far in it. i think someday she'd create ONE save she'd be absolutely obsessed with and play with it like 394834 generations. her family tree looks crazy. she has every pack only because gregory pirated them for her the same way he did

she also has 100% made her and gregory and her dad in the sims and had them be like a family and gregorys sim is a 'roommate' but. we all know what he is. she'll play with them and make herself find a true love but let gregory find tons of friends and focus on his skills and aspirations. she doesnt do much with her dad but will work on his promotions sometimes and her sims relationship bar with her dads is full. same with gregory

she'd want drama with her teen sims so she'd let them do whatever. and she'd watch so many youtube series that have tons of drama no matter how fabricated by the yotuuber it is. she would be obsessed if the sims 4 had zodiac signs

Evan would play the sims 3 once he actually got a computer (he played the sims freeplay before). he'd never do any challenges but he'd once again have all the expansions bc of gregory. he'd have one save he first made when he got the game and he'd get sooo attatched to the family like he'd care so much about every sim. he'd work hard to max out everyones jobs and skills and when a kid is born he'd double down on having it grow up with proper skills and care and he'd always get secret traits bc of it.

like he'd get so emotional over first dates or weddings or when a new baby is born or is his sim gets a new friend (if he played 4 hed cry over the sentiments). hed cry even harder when one of them dies. he has one save with a huge family tree and never even want another one

he would never even change his sims outfits or appearances at all. he'd believe that how they spawn/age up is how they want to look and wouldnt want to change them. he has absolutely no custom content and doesnt want any. he takes advantage of the gameplay of the packs gregory got him and will have his sims go on vacation or something. he loves seeing all the interactions between sims and will let some of his sims have supernatural babies so he can see the interactions of the occult as they grow up. hes horrified by how gregory plays. he probably has one like 2013 sims 3 letsplay with 300 episodes that has zero editing with every episode being like 45 minutes that he watches all the time and loves

he'd sometimes ask gregory if he would want to make a sim to be his sims friend or someone else in manage worlds to be in another household and gregory would intricately create the perfect match for the sim in question and then go back to killing everybody in his game

if you guys wonder what I think about all day I was thinking about how all of the fnaf kids would play the sims and which games they would be playing today

bc im already in bed and forgot to post the ten billion screenshots ive taken of the sims ive been playing with i'll just babble about them instead

i wanted to start off from a blank slate and try to make my own spellcaster bloodline (working from weak to ancient) bc i thought it would be a fun challenge since i usually don't play multiple generations of sims

i usually prefer to just make a character/concept and try to accomplish their goals and also arbitrary goals i set for them for my own amusement, but i thought it'd be neat to try something different for a while

instead of making a completely new family, i thought i'd play with a pre-made family (which, again i never really do) and picked up that fun old staple: the Goths!

because Cassandra and Alexander have their own pretty clear-cut goals and paths, and i wanted a sort of blank slate, i had them have a new baby!

her name is Isadore, and she is currently a child who just completed the creative aspiration and is now working on the social butterfly one! once she's a teen, shes gonna start learning spellcasting 💖

meanwhile, Cassandra aged up to young adult, got engaged to Siobhan Fyres, and they moved to San Myshuno and adopted two cats!

Alexander is currently a teen, and is working on his "nerd brain" aspiration and might become a scientist? But I also think computer savvy would work really well for him...

Mortimer just aged up to elder, and Bella is about to go from young adult to adult, so i think i've done a good job so far, considering i don't usually do this!

Holy Crap!! 400 Followers!?

Wow wow wow! I’m so appreciative of all the support and I can’t wait to share more sims content with you in the future! I’ve been having so much fun lately with the game and y’all are definitely a big part of that.  

I had other plans to celebrate reaching 400 followers but I need some more time for that little present... so instead here are some links to mods I use and CC creators that I love!

USEFUL MODS FOR BUILD A CITY CHALLENGES...

Those of you that follow my BACC have probably noticed I only use my played households as town population. That means no EA townies for me! I achieve that with Zero’s No Random Townies. It’s a completely free and up to date alternative to NPCC and it hasn’t given me any issues so far!

Kids and teens cannot go to school until the education career has been unlocked. I added an extra rule that there has to be a teacher in the education career as well, otherwise kids and teens have to remain at home. Did you know you can have sims quit school with MCCC? You go to the MC Career module and enable “Kids/Teens Quit School”. You can disable it once you have schools unlocked! 

SIMS HAVE ACTUAL PERSONALITIES?!

Want some personality mods? I have a TON!

Remember Sims 2 lifetime aspirations? You can have them as traits in Sims 4 with MissyHissy’s Personality Mod.  It has custom whims and everything! I add them to all of my teen+ sims. You can also get her Hobby Mod which works similarly and is also based on Sims 2 hobbies. 

I also use a lot of Lumpinou’s mods. You can check them all out by clicking that link. I use First Impressions. Along with Wonderful Whims’ attraction system, it’s how I usually decide on which couples I want to pair up. WW handles the physical attraction but Lumpinou has your back for compatible personalities!  

I use Lumpinou’s Woohoo Wellness for pregnancies and babies. It’s more or less PG-13 so you can use it and not burn your eyes out. There are a few things that may be triggering so skip the rest of this paragraph if you don’t want to read about them. There is the chance of getting an STI, and your pregnant sims can get abortions. The one issue I noticed is that it’s not compatible with risky woohoo. Your sims will likely get pregnant if they don’t use protection... regardless of the risky woohoo percentage. I learned that the hard way.

I also use Lumpinou’s No Strings mod for friends with benefits. When your sims decide to be FWBs they can do romance options without developing a romance bar. It’s how Jericho and Andy started out their relationship! 

I have Zerbu’s All Worlds are Residential which I will be using when I unlock more worlds in my BACC. I’ll have the ability to move in sims to Granite Falls as well as other worlds that are usually only for vacations. 

I probably have 90% of LittleMissSam’s mods. They’re a must-have for me so I highly recommend looking through them if you’d like to spice up your game (or just fix annoying EA bugs). Some of my favorites are, in no particular order: SimDa Dating App, More Woodworks, Advanced Birth Certificate, Ultrasound Scan, Train Puppies, Retail Overhaul, First Love and Foster Family.

aaaand my guy's bedroom! His hobbies are sports and hunting and drab colors. He's also allergic to decorating, if you can't tell. Most of the colorful things in the house are from his roommate.

It's not perfect but I like it and I can't wait to see how my sims error and whine at me like it too!

So, I have decided to play this Poison Garden Legacy in Hidden Springs.

It will be called Starfall Poison Garden because I believe all blogged sims games should be tagged with a unique name. Also reasons.

I have:

Created my foundress.

Commandeered an already-built nature park lot in the game so that I don’t have to try to make her wilderness lot look realistic. (I suck at all building and landscaping, but I redecorate like a simming pro :) ).

Tracked down, downloaded, and placed a bunch of Hidden Springs custom lots to cover the expansions and fill in empty lots. Not that I expect most of this would matter for this generation of the challenge -- she’s not going to be going dancing at any discos or attending Simfests. I just have a compulsion.

Messed around with a ton of mod configuration and cc, particularly StoryProgression.

Downloaded @pudding-parade‘s Tempest preset for Hidden Springs.

Added Anita Chalmers ( @treason-and-plot ), Rhianna, young Michael Jackson, and Khal Drogo to a chaotic-looking roommates household.

De-ITFed and de-berried Lacelot ( @berrysweetboutique ) because this is not a berry game. Perhaps I should rename them with their non-berry alter egos. I know that Lacey’s non-berry analogue in the multiverse is Tilly. Who is Merlot? They look pretty cute in mortal colors.

(I like to load up sims from other games into my neighborhood, see what StoryProgression does with them, and report back. I don’t want to do it with anyone who is attached to what happens to their sims, however, because this is all SP.)

I think I’m ready to start playing.

Now, of course, I’m going to go play the Samples for a while... lol

I’m going to answer another ask outside of this post that details this but I’ll answer this one here too. The way me and ayoshi do packs is not like a usual collab (in my opinion I don’t think people collab like this). I am good at making meshes. So usually I make a mesh for something and ayoshi makes a base texture that I can use to finish the base of the top/bottom and then we work together to fix any texture issues. Nothing we’ve made has ever been 100% mine or 100% his except for the hairs. Sometimes a mesh is easy but the texture requires a lot of work so it’s more work for him, sometimes I decide I want to try and texture something (like with this AxA I made textures for some of the clothes) and then ayoshi will clean the texture up for me and add some shading for me. So it’s a lot different than what I imagine most collabs are. But I love the way me and him work together and the ability to change something I don’t like because it isn’t just his, it’s ours.

I’m not sure if there are people that specifically only do that but I think there are a handful of creators that get inspired from kpop/music videos and make hairs similar to that. Cause we use EA meshes most of the time the hairs aren’t going to look exactly like the inspiration though. Like I have two hairs that are based off Go Won from loona (Go Won hair and Kelsey Hair) but i don’t think you can tell that just from looking at them.

if you download Sims4Studio and open the package you can make the specular blank but that could cause issues in your game if you play on certain graphic settings. So do it with caution.

So I played Snowy Escape this week! It’s my cup of tea! I watched LGR’s review (and Plumbella’s too) and yeah, as usual, I agree with both of them. The pack doesn’t give us a lot that’s really new, especially in terms of gameplay, and I really wish there had been even small interactive moments aboard trains and ski lifts. However, I also agree that it’s a really aesthetically beautiful pack. The way tourists who haven’t gone to Japan yet think of Japan might be like Tokyo Shibuya area, or Osaka shopping streets... but uh, Tokyo and Osaka are only two cities in all of Japan, and pretty much the entire rest of the country isn’t like that. The majority of Japan’s tourist attractions are nature- and history-based, after all.

The big question for me was just how touristy “Mt Komorebi” was going to come across. Sims is pretty noticeably America-centric, and Western culture is the norm. They put out Jungle Adventure and it’s like stepping into a 90s action movie. The most progressive thing you can say about the locals in that pack is that, due to being governed by the same rules that apply to all Sims, they don’t come across “different” enough to be straight up othered. The area they live in, of course, is underdeveloped in spite of the “culture” skill, and very much is meant to be an exotic adventure for Indiana Jones.

Komorebi’s not that bad though. I was impressed at first by the amount of detail there seemed to be. I never expected we’d get space heaters and kotatsu and nabe in-game without downloading CC. Taking off your shoes to go inside, using chopsticks, sliding doors (which I’ve wanted more of for SO LONG), are all true to life as well as modern and also just nice to have. There’s some weird bits, like how when sims sit at the kotatsu they don’t sit on their knees, their legs just disappear into the floor... I guess we can assume there’s a hole underneath (which is the case with some kotatsu just not usually the at-home kind). I also would have liked more every day interactions, like doing homework at the kotatsu or watching TV or even taking a nap.

The patterns for yukata/kimono are pretty awful though. The more understated ones I can live with, but anything with a splash of color is a fashion disaster.

The look of the houses in the towns are really nice. The interiors, not so much, but that’s easier to fix than the facade and landscaping for most of us. The non-interactive backgrounds areas really do look like Japan. It’s a pity we can’t explore it at all. (I would have LOVED just one interactive conbini. That’s one Japan staple that it’s simply weird to leave out. They probably figured conbini wouldn’t have anything the vending machines don’t have, but personally I’d rather have conbini than vending machines. Unless they made it rabbit hole, in which case fuck it)

Also liked the snow festival and the lights festival. It’s true there’s not a lot to do at them, other than take pictures, and it was really hard to get good pictures with my sims in them... When I went to snow festivals, you could do things like light candles in little snow cubbies, or have a meal in a kamakura, etc. That would have been nice. Otherwise it’s just look at the pretty sights and make normal snowmen. Same with the lights festival - it’s gorgeous, but... They do have food stalls but the variety is limited. You can get four different kinds of yakisoba and ramen but no okonomiyaki, no ikayaki. There’s no festival games. I’m currently festival-starved due to covid-19 so my hopes were a bit higher. Still... like I said, I enjoyed them. I guess I just like pretty things. And I do spend an inordinate amount of time just taking pictures of my Sims doing things anyway xP

The Youth festival is pretty dull. It seems more like a not!Pokemon festival than anything else. The crepes, however, are great. Also it’s really WEIRD that the koinobori (the carp flags) are out all the time, like a normal decoration, in the city. That’s one culture thing that I think got confused.

So as far as it goes... it’s not as touristy as I expected it to be. I give it props for that. It’s definitely still got a vibe of “non-Japanese foreigner goes for a visit,” as in, I think if a Japanese company made a Sims game with Japanese players in mind, they’d have done a ton things differently. But we got a more robust cultural depiction than we ever have before, so, nice.

The winter sports are fun! I weirdly didn’t get bored even though like LGR says, it is just watching the Sims do the same thing over and over again without any player interaction. That does suck but is also par for the course with Sims 4. Since I play multiple Sims at a time, it’s easy for me to stick one on the bunny slope and just let them ski until they level up while I do something else with another Sim :P (Sims is more fun when you cheat!)

The onsen is a let down. It’s nice, sure. It’s just a spa though. And it’s WEIRD that you can have sex in the onsen while other people are in it, even children, and they are not freaked out, but you can’t skinny dip in front of children. All they get is an uncomfortable moodlet afterwards because now the onsen water is dirty x’D I wonder if that’s an oversight that will get tweaked in the future...

However, onsen is very pretty too. I would have liked a smaller building and better landscaping with two or three hot springs to pick from. Also, there are gendered entrance curtains, but they don’t actually divide Sims by gender and all lead to the same place... I guess it’s good to have for pictures at least. If you want to put in the ladies room and mens room doors you could easily make his and hers as well as a mixed hot spring baths. I think this is one we just have to let the Sim builder greats take on.

So HIKING is awesome! I loved it! It’s relaxing for me. Some might find it dull, but it’s really just so pretty, and for me brings back a lot of memories. Hiking in Japan is pretty much like that (although a lot more mountainous of course). It’s somewhat dependent on your graphics settings - mine aren’t that high so like the bamboo forest vanishes as I cam through it.. can’t get that sense of really being inside it. Also when I came across the cemetery I had my spellcaster try to Necrocall the one grave that has interactions, but it didn’t work, even though the option came up. ?? I was expecting some sort of cool ghost. Oh well.

I’m interested in climbing. I don’t have Fitness Stuff so I never did it before. It’s way more boring than leveling the winter sports though. But I think the mountain climb will be worth it.

There are little kodama and sprites you can come across and interact vaguely with. I’ll accept that as a Ghibli nod. It’s more cute than cultural but it’s also a bit of fun surprise, though I haven’t noticed any real effect beyond a moodlet. (Was told one gave me a present but I couldn’t find it in my inventory so I think it was just the moodlet.)

Also the bugs!! That’s very Japan! And you can buy insect repellent hahaha that’s a level of realism I didn’t ask for but will take

I’ll talk about lifestyles and sentiments too. I don’t need them personally. The sentiments are kind of nice to see, but they’re predictable. You get the same ones if you do certain things. They give you a moodlet when the Sim shows up, which I guess I do like, but... tbh it’s damn inconvenient sometimes. For ex, I played by Tsubasa family to explore Mt Komorebi, and I noticed many conversations were inexplicably becoming “awkward.” The reason was - even though no one was saying or doing anything flirty - Kurogane and Fai were getting in the mood by just looking at each other thanks to sentiments, and Sakura and Syaoran were like -___-; I mean, it’s hilarious, but also annoying!

Lifestyles... eh. So far all my Sims just get the same ones. They all seem to get Adrenaline Seeker just for playing winter sports. Also I find the pop-ups warning me when a Sim’s going to lose their lifestyle annoying, and if a Sim gets a lifestyle I don’t want for them, it’s annoying to watch their mood change for dumb reasons like “didn’t spend enough time outdoors today.” It’s the same concept as traits. It’s kind of nice that you can change them around by doing different things, and since we’re limited to three traits I won’t say no to more (for example, instead of giving a Sim the “Loves the Outdoors” trait, you can try to get the Outdoorsy lifestyle and use the trait slot for something that influences their personality more). But all in all I find my Sims still just act the same as usual and the gameplay is all in pop-ups, so it’s just not exciting for me.

Also had a glitch where Sakura would take off her shoes to go inside but when she went out, she put on a pair of snowboots that I never even equipped her with, and she wore them with every outfit. Editing in CAS didn’t help. A reboot did though.

So pretty much, I definitely think they could have done more with this pack, BUT that’s been the case with literally every pack since the base game. There are no expectations for me anymore, that’s why I really just genuinely like this one. I’m happy they picked North Japan rather than Tokyo or Osaka, I think we got a lot more detail because of that.

I do indeed! :) @chanelwwww is the Tumblr, and I’m guessing the accessories you’re talking about are these? Chanel’s simblr is still intact (pics, links, etc.) so you can browse to your heart’s content! 

As for elf-appropriate jewelry… well, that would depend on your own idea of elves? :) For me personally, anything works as long as it’s a bit more ornate, medieval-ish, fantasy, or nature-inspired… so in other words, any jewelry that isn’t strictly modern or contemporary. 

- For medieval jewelry, don’t look any further than PlumbBob Keep! Some personal favorites of mine are Wawa’s European parure sets & Anne of Bavaria jewels, and Maya40′s Cersei Lioncoin necklace. And while we’re talking PBK and elves, there’s these elven circlets by Rebellina and this cool TS2 version of Thranduil’s crown (more recolors here).

- Maybe not elvish jewelry per se, but Hat shared tons of awesome medieval accessories in this post. The pics are unfortunately busted, but trust me, wading through the post is well worth it.

- When we’re talking fantasy jewelry, I’m really partial to Maya40′s creations. Check out her crown accessories & tiaras and GoT-inspired jewelry sets (tiaras, Sansa’s accessories, Cersei’s accessories). 

- Kativip’s Fusion accessories are also worth checking out!

- Some of the chinese accessories from MT-Cakestore could also double as fantasy/elvish accessories. 

- These Art Nouveau accessories by Vampire_of_Death at GoS give me very elvish vibes, especially the headpiece!
