It was weird though, because out of nowhere my ML art started getting notes and some asshole started spamming my inbox with "draw hugo, emma and louis with Marinette" over and over as it i was some kind of slave???

My blog has never EVER been one fandom only. My first post here was about HTTYD, then i have been jumping over and over

I don't know what kind of entitlement the ML fandom has about artists that think they can demand art from us and if it's not a 10 long page comic with a funny joke by the end of it, you dont get traction either way.

And i have never said anything about the asks demanding me to read Lady Scarlet or Buggachat's comics. I have respect for the artists but i got tired of those ask as well, and i had some instance in someone tagging my art as it if was Bugga's. You know how hurt i was that moment? And no, i dont blame Bugga, but the fans that put artists in a pedestal thinking any fan thingy is better than the original show, something even Bugga has said they dont like at all.

But the fandom doesnt listen, they just want their joke, their shitpost being made, instead of being a community. We used to be, i remember the days when we waited patiently for fans to translate every Sunday all the episode in french, we made chain posts with characters in our style, the drawing pile of Adrienette sleeping, the Break Dance AU that was such a hit!!

But now? It's just fans wanting their fanservice, how much they can complain and how much they can spoil stuff. And it has tired me. And im... pissed and sad that the new fans wont ever get to enjoy that.

I want to come back, but not like this. I don't want to be bitter because i still love the show. And until the fandom gets better im going to stay away.

yeah, people (well, mostly one person) really blew it out of the water for no reason. thankfully the OP is really friendly and reasonable, it's just a shame someone else felt the need to insert themselves and misrepresent the situation on both sides instead of just letting them handle it themselves if they'd wanted to. (and we won't get into how that person is in their 30s and mostly interacting with minors/teens who call them "miss daddy".)

What are your writing weaknesses? A lot, really. Keeping things making sense and not becoming a mess. (Wait till you see all four docs holding my wips for Lost in the Fog skcmsm). Descriptive writing and in particular fighting scenes are also a weakness but I’m trying to get better so fingers crossed. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

Mixed actually. As… I recall always reading Romanji in place of actual Japanese… (Romanji isn’t a language but rather just the readings to help read Japanese and it’s usually the basic stuff like ohayougozaimasu and whatnots). Of course, I understand, hey no everyone can read it! But it’d be kinda cool to see Japanese in its original hira/katakana, kanji script.

if you know a language or like to do language research then by all means go ahead. But sometimes just seeing Romanji gives me second hand embarrassment and it’s not only for the reason listed above.

Just my two cents regarding answering the questions in extra posts (since you asked, of course, but I'm not the greatest at Tumblr etiquette, so take what I say with a grain of salt). I personally like to answer things in a reblog because then the entire thing is right in front of me. I'm the kind of person who likes to read conversations, tags, blogs and reblogs and separate posts are scattered.

I don't know if it's this way for others, but for me, the post with the answer opens the original post/text of the post just partially and then I have to click on an additional link to get the context when it appears on my dash. Mind you, I don't think of it as 'spam' and don't have strong feelings for it one way or the other, except for the fact that a reblog has everything visible right there, in a single thread.

Also, regarding the increased number of notes. I came to Tumblr from LiveJournal, from a fandom community where a bunch of us would have entire discussions and meta in the comments. A single post would go into dozens of comments from 3-4 users debating something silly. This was normal to me, and fun, because I like reading the discourse and taking part in it.

I was so surprised to discover a whole subset of social media users who consider replying to comments to your own posts bad form because they think it artificially 'inflates' the number of notes. This never occurred to me in all the years of posting and commenting on fanworks and I still don't get the logic.

I'm aware that people find me annoying on Tumblr because I ramble all the time (as you can see, I run out of space in the comment section all the time long before I finished saying what I want). Anyway, the point I'm trying to say is that I like single threads regardless of the amount of notes, but that this is a personal preference that may not be entirely compatible with Tumblr culture. I also still struggle with tags  😭

on ao3 for example you have the number of comments and comment threads. so you can just look at the comment thread number and know how many ppl commented.
