the thing about anons complaining about people only involving ā€œbig blogsā€ in their follow forevers kind of pisses me off. for starters, like, if you have an unorganized blog, or your url isnt neat/short or a little weird, or your colors on your mobile or desktop theme arent good itā€™s difficult to get followers. everyone judges a book by itā€™s cover. like, you canā€™t yell at other people for liking blogs that they think are nice and organized ā€” which, are usually the ā€œbig blogsā€. theyā€™re ā€œbig blogsā€ because they have a tagging system, their colors/theme is nice, and usually theyā€™re a nice person (not someone who's sending anons to others getting mad at them for liking what they like). of course it has to do with friendships sometime, but like? of course iā€™m going go put my friend as one of my favorite blogs? like theyā€™re one of my favorite people so like? idk. i just feel like people are getting mad at absolutely nothing. like iā€™m definitely not saying /your/ blog is ugly/bad/etc, but like if you reblog a million different things besides dan and phil, youā€™re less likely for a ā€œbig blogā€ to follow you. why? because that big blog is usually someone who only reblogs dan and phil.
you may be saying ā€œbut i dont wanna change my blogā€ then donā€™t? followers donā€™t matter tbh. like as long as youā€™ve got a few pals usually, itā€™s good. ā€œi donā€™t have palsā€ talk to someone. talk to someone that maybe looks like they donā€™t have a lot of friends either, etc. or if you are relying on followers, and okay with changing up your blog then consider making multiple for different things or side blogs. side blog for dnp, side blog for anime, side blog for that one tv show you really like. you really canā€™t keep getting mad at ā€œbig blogsā€ and the ā€œbig blogsā€ that like the other big blogs. they like each other because theyā€™re neat, tidy, appealing to the eyes and more than likely theyā€™ve talked to them before.
again, followers do not matter friend. though validation from others is nice, it also does not matter in the long run. when youā€™re 30 years old are you going to be thinking about that one dan and phil tumblr blog that never put you on their follow forever? or never put you on their recommended blogs?
