Eve could not live without her spellbook- quite literally, as the spells in it are what allow her to survive in hiding against the faerie hunt that's been called against her... for stealing that very same spellbook.

What keeps her grounded is mostly the people around her- she has a habit of latching onto the nearest person she thinks she can trust in any given situation and emotionally anchoring herself to them. She has a very good eye for who she can trust, so this usually works out well enough, but while she's a cockroach of a woman who somehow never dies her close companions are frequently not so lucky. The best case scenario is when she has to leave them behind, and only one person has ever been able to keep up with her long term.
