I have to be frank the whole how could you be against korrasami its the only same sex ship in lok or the first canon same sex ship involving mc’s kind of shows to me that they understand on a deep level that korrasami was badly written that it had no buildup.
since they have to rely on the uniqueness ( the fact there wasnt a same sex ship involving a mc before)
to try and deflect criticism . when the fact its the only canon same sex ship in lok and the first canon same sex ship  involving mc is irrelevant for its a forced ship that shouldnt have happened .
If i were to make one wish  to change lok it would be the last minute retcon korrasami didnt happen because the fact that its the first canon same sex ship involving mc should not be the reason why people support it.
korra nd asami were barely friends they barely interacted with each other censorship doesnt explain what happened with them. and korrasami shippers just took any positive interaction between them and claimed it was evidence and they take any moment and over play/hype/exaggerate along with infusing headcanons as if they were fact.
1. I recall someone claiming that korra chose asami to help her in b3 when nothing shows that
2. they claimed that korra sent asami multiple letters when its implied its only one letter
3/ they pretend that korra sending asami a letter (she wouldnt have read the letter asami sent back so it would be more like korra venting in a letter which is easier to do then talking one to one .(from experience )  ) means asami is closer to her than the others when it doesnt . people can say stuff to someone they arent as close to because they felt that they would understand better saw an example of this from an anon on a different post,  or they didnt
4. asami has never shown the ability to support korra the way she needed to tenzin and mako have heck in remembrances asami the one moment we had to see her try and support korra she failed she went youre the avatar of course we need you while tenzin succeded by bringing up korra as a person and mako got a whole speech about how he feels about korra the person. and cares about korra who she is and wouldnt bring up korra being the avatar as why he needs korra.
and  mako supported korra the way she needed to when she went off to confront zaheer and given their personalities mako would be the only one who would have done this
6. korra and asami barely interacted in b4 censorship doesnt explain that
7.  people try to go if it was a het ship you would see it when no ,  if korra/asami was a guy no one would ship korrasami, while people wouldship makorra even if one of  them were genderbent.
8.    on the blush that isnt romantic evidence she blushed at bolin complimenting her as well and she didnt have romantic feelings for him ( she was just in a sad/negative state
at best you could say maybe male asami hada crush on korra ( since with friendships between men and women dont really include compliments while two girls being friends can compliment each others appearance without it being romantic. while if two guys did that people would make gay jokes while two girls complimenting each others looks is considered normal.
( guys tend to avoid being too intimate/close with their guy friends do to not wanting to be seen as gay
while two girls being friends dont have this problem
alot of people ignore that to just go if one of them was gender swapped
“You can’t just port the actions of a female character over to her Rule 63 equivalent without alteration and expect it to mean anything.  Male!Asami never would have been helping Korra get dressed in the first place, and he probably wouldn’t have gotten a letter, either.  And portraying platonic male-female friendships without romantic undertones is a ridiculous tightwalk that doesn’t allow for compliments about appearance in the way female-female friendships do.
You can’t just port the actions of a female character over to her Rule 63 equivalent without alteration and expect it to mean anything.
Build up requires, you know, building up.  Korra and Asami only had personal conversations in eight episodes out of the 26 that made up Books 3 and 4, and their amount of direct conversation tanked between the two Books, with Book 3’s five direct plot-related conversations dropping to zero in Book 4.  Since episodes with group conversations held steady at two, that means that episodes with any conversations between the two at all dropped from 11 to 6.  That’s… basically the opposite of buildup.  (And, for reference, Book 1 had nine episodes that dealt with Mako and Korra’s relationship directly, which is more than Korra and Asami had in both Books 3 and 4.)
If the show wanted to portray Asami as Korra’s closest friend and confidant, it should have found a way to make it seem like Korra actually valued Asami as such instead of just having her react to Asami pushing to do stuff or help her in almost every instance.  =P  Male!Asami would have probably read as a pushy Nice Guy if things played out the same way.
K/A wasn’t intended to salvage the show, no (and Bryke didn’t seem to want to continue past Book 4 anyway).  Given Bryan’s post, it’s far more likely that it was intended to salvage Bryke’s conscience.
Shippers base speculation on ridiculously limited evidence regardless of gender, particularly when the characters involved are attractive.  That doesn’t mean that shows actually expect their viewers to see something like Kuvira and Tonraq looking at each other as romantic.  =P
9. to be frank if asami was a guy I doubt male asami would be the one to help korra get dressed given their lacking relationship
( dont give me but korrasami was more popular as an argument to it having evidence or being planned zutara was more popular then kataang.)

ok predictions/reactions to f-h (not negative necessarily?)
firstoff the banner itself
-shame abt the 17 stuff. imo its really fucking clear that the people in charge of f e as a whole hate the game for its more whimsical/shonen/super sentai tone of “friendship and understanding” and just want a cringey “angst” fest (aka angst that just excuses horrible characters) like 16 (and to be fair a lot of other things in the franchise too). but like imo its not the worst. the vas are clearly doing a good job and the artist too, and its cool and cute to see ivy in the game, even if its just a seasonal
-the others i dont rlly care abt. if i liked e ir at all i def dont after she screwed over an entire country and her presumable former friends there just because she found out her birth family’s world is a place she likes better. like its awful what she went through but imo she still killed a person for no reason when she couldve just told the truth, and even if it would have been painful she should have taken responsibility for her position. but whatever its very eh. and thats all my thoughts pretty much. actually suprised f jorm wasnt the duo but whatevs
-the new story/new oc: i was rooting for all 4 alfr to get resplendent/ect darn it! oh well. it looks like most likely peo and plumie will be the focus (which is good for me bc i love plumie but i wish tri would get good things too ; ; ) and hopefully tri and peo will actually get scenes together acknowledging their relationship as sisters (esp as it was alluded to in last years peo! gosh i hope so pls.) bc b4 screwed them over (esp tri) big time with its fruitless and nonsensical “plot twists”
-another thing that im really happy abt is that the temptri stories (except b3 for... reasons) tend to not involve the main cast of the game, which honestly is a breath of fresh air. b2′s one was horrendous bc of the dragons and the retcons, but it could have been so much worse. 3′s too if im being honest. e irs obsession w the main cast is... very regrettable but also understandable, so it wasnt too much detracting imo. im just hoping they keep this up with b4 and dont fucking involve those horrible and ridiculous “plot twists” from book 4. can we please just fucking forget any shitty changeling stories/plotlines in any media ever pls. (except m l p. youre cool you can stay. cough cough unrealistic expectations for this kind of story cough cough)
-that being said plumie + peo is hilarious and sweet. plumie calling her a little petal or something is so funny/cute. and my kasuplumie shipper heart is like “aw plumie took up nicknaming people from kasumi!” like this is character development done right take notes b2 temptri. i think itll be really wholesome if they do end up being the ascendants for this year, seeing them become friends. i would have liked tri but i feel like it also fits as the two of them are the more active of their groups (mira is really passive, and i feel like tri is more distant than aggressive like plumie is). so plumie being super jaded and scornful + peo being really caring with no strings attached and self sacrificing will be really wholesome to see if it comes to pass
-new character: interesting that theyre a rearmed but ok saitama face. people are saying maybe 4/5 next but i feel like it could be 17 (and add less royalty characters- maybe one of the younger siblings, the player character, side characters/enemy only? morion pls im politely asking). i think the best case scenario is theyre the queen from the past, that would be wholesome to have her actually meet kind friends in the alfr. kinda like another character i dont really have anything against her when she was a child- she kidnapped and forced children to work for her just bc they were poor and from a bad home life as an adult, but as a child she was abused by her peers and only treated well by her brother bc he wanted to marry her off to them. like her actually meeting nice people and getting standards would be great but idk if itll happen.
-also just fucking release that dirtbag in the next mythic. just let the memes die. im sick of this guy and ive been sick of him for years. glad hes not much plot relevant.
tldr the good news is i get to save orbs bc i spent them all on not getting shez wooo (sarcasm) (also donny is so pure im so glad hes the free unit!!!! get hype!!!)

mako was a hero and zuko was a villain being a hero doesnt equal never making a mistakes being flawless or ever being a bit of a jerk ( hasnt there ever been a time where you got frustrated and a bit snippy ( the example was done by bryke in regards to a scene mako did in b1 ) the attempts to treat mako like he was some sort of villain who needed punishment is bs I have seen people phrase it like atonement but it makes me roll my eyes he owes asami an apology that is it atonement is for something like what zuko has done . heroes are allowed to be flawed and make mistakes mako was a tame anti hero when pushed ( threatening that equalist but he didnt do any actual villainous things he was just a tad bit of a jerk romantically and spineless dealing with it as remembrances put it he was so afraid of disappointing people he disappointed everyone ( he couldnt say no to asami ) and the b2 breakup was due to both of their flaws neither of them would have worked with anyone but especially korra and bryke written that they both overcame those flaws and figured out conflict resolution and got along great in b4 with korra and asami barely interacting little to no relationnship development and nothing that hinted at romantic relationship while makorra got teased with the narrative build up to it since b2 finale which came off as very romantic and made breakup come off as a temporary one with makorra getting way more relationship development while the buildup to korrasami was nonexistent you have to twist facts to get idea of buildup like ignoring that korra blushed due to bolin before or trying to make korra sending asami one letter because she felt she would understand more ( sending asami a letter not mako or bolin doesnt mean their relationship is stronger ) or ignoring how mako got a speech about how korra the person meant to him inspired him . makorra relationship is a gender flip to roy X riza . with some differences asami in contrast failed to help korra and just went korra youre the avatar while tenzin came in and helped
there seems to be this idea that a character making a mistake not being specifically punished for it and having good things happen to him its being rewarded for his mistake when no the narrative always acknowledged his mistakes even if the last minute retcon korrasami didnt happen and they ended it with korra being in character and say a hint to makorra getting back together eventually ( no spirit trip vacations which was ooc for korra given how she was devoted to her duty and to be frank korrasami required korra being ooc for korra and asami are incompatible with their needs . personalities what they would want and ways to solve conflict korra thrives off conflict while asami is so conflict averse she never called out mako except a few times) I imagine the mako haters would try to spout mako sue or creators pet bs mako was never any of those things in order to claim he is that you need to have a lack of understanding of makos character or what those terms mean. korra is every rbit responsible for love triangle as mako so if people try to claim mako had to end show single as karma for mishandling the love triangle which is bs love triangles are messy buisness and mako doesnt deserve punishment via ending up with no love interest for not handling a love triangle perfectly for mistakes this reminds me of a post about villain redemption and how people dont want villains to be given redemption because they associate things that come after redemption like love so when they say that “this character doesn’t deserve a redemption arc” what they mean is “this character doesn’t deserve to be loved. they don’t deserve happiness, peace, or companionship”. it’s pretty disturbing tbh, to treat basic things that every human needs (like being loved) as a “reward” that you get for good behavior. or more accurately: never being bad in the first place. that once you fall from grace you’re damned for eternity.
its gets especially annoying because mako wasnt even a villain who did villainous things he was a good person who was just flawed in a way that cant be romanticized or justified away he made mistakes due to his flaws in not wanting to dissapoint people and not figuring out his own emotions or knowing ending something doesnt mean burning bridges entirely his flaw was just not meeting expectations of how an admirable romantic lead should act narrative never pretended his flaws werent flaws
I would say asami should have ended the show single not mako for asami didnt really have any teasing with anyone in b3 or b4 and too be frank she was just used in b1 and b2 for some nonsense
I've already answered why people like Zuko despite being a villain at first and don't like Mako despite being a hero. My friend also added stuff and went into detail of how the story treated them differently and that greatly affected the audience's view of them and their characters.
A flaw would be like if a character is hot-headed. Mako was a cheater. That's not a flaw. It's a bad quality. It makes Mako a bad person. Flaws are okay on heroes, some bad qualities are ok too only if they're treated as bad qualities by the story. Mako being a cheater was not treated like a bad thing by the story and he never had to apologize for it or do anything to rectify the harm he did to Asami. Rather he cheated on her again.
There's really no point in sending me the same ask over and over again because my answer will always be the same.

Im sorry for doing this again but i think that this is pretty fun and i cant sleep right now, so im about to post my shot on this
I love Tenzin as a character and i love How his character becomes so dynamic to Korra's journey. It was something pretty enjoyable to me and i believe that, for Korra situation, It was better to show us a realistic mentor with peaks and character growth than a static character, like Iroh. I still love both equaly (sometimes i tend to favor Tenzin over Iroh) but their chatacters are pretty important for Korra and Zuko about the same.
Amon was the big bad guy for book 1 Korra and book 1 Korra only. Korra's character growth was build in stages, book 2 Korra, book 3 Korra or book 4 Korra wouldnt have the same behavior towards Amon as book 1 Korra had, and this was important. Amon, Unalaq, Zaheer and Kuvira, all of them play, somehow, a paralel to Korra not only as a character, but as sides of her identity. And by the end of this journey, she is a fully realised avatar, because she finally found her true self and what is the true face of what It means to be the avatar. I didnt liked Amon this much, If i could place the seasons It would always be b3>b4>=b1>b2.
Aside from Azula and Zuko, ATLA villains were pretty one dimensional, but, somehow, It worked pretty well in showing how lost the fire nation was and how destructive they could be. Ozai was pretty boring to me and his final fight with Aang was pretty predictable. I had more hype for the last agni kai.
I dont exacly can comment on that, because 1. I hate power ranking 2. I dont think that the gender of the avatar can define their relantionship with Raava. Aang was pretty in touch with his feminine side, and he never knew about Raava. Until now, Korra is the only one after Wan that is awere about the existance of the Spirit of light and had a pretty good connection with it. And Korra isnt exacly in touch with her feminine side. Now i do believe that Korra, Kyoshi and Yangsheng (Kuruk my baby im sorry) were better avatars in some ways.
Thats why i hated Tarlok since the day that he showed up. He and Amon played roles of intimidation on a minor that barely got any connection with the outside world.
If you are talking about ATLA comics, yes i do believe that some of them did a poor job with some characters. The routes for some of them could have being better, but i dont hate it. Pre imbalance was just a little rought step. Imbalance is the better one. Now TLOK comics i dont think so. Korra was pretty in character, they gave Asami the character development that she deserves (could do a little more but im okay with It), Mako and Bolin were okay. Tokuga was a pretty bad villain, not bad, just bland, but i dont mind, i enjoyed Turf Wars a lot. ROTE i believe that could have being better If It was animated and more expanded, some topics and some arcs were pretty rushed, but not bad.
I kinda trust on them... I dont want the live action because i hate adaptations and i dont think that Netflix is going to do a good job with it. I trust on Bryke more than those random people that dont have the full knowledge of the avatar verse.
Korrasami was the one and only ship i bothered myself to love. I tried with shoujos, i tried to read romances, but i just cant, my only exception always was Brazilian classics like Ursula and Senhora. There is no couple on that show that embodies the message of TLOK more than Korrasami. Modernity, change and adaptation. Asami and Korra are a mirror to that. No fuss, no desperate declarations of affection, no cringe, no unnecessary angst. Just a easy and slow development between friends that realised that their friendship wasnt enought, that they loved each other a little beyond that.
I dont know if i worded my thoughts the way i wanted.
I said this before, im pretty open minded so i dont really have any resistences to the choices that might happen in the future. Im only sensitive to art choices - one of the reasons why i cant bring myself to watch Arcane or Jojo bizarre adventures. Dialogues are also one of my turn offs, but i dont think that it could have any dialogue as bad as star wars the phantom menace, god that was a fucking torture.
My controversial opinions on Avatar part 2
- Tenzin is not only a more realistic portrait of the archetype of the wise master, but also a better one because of that. When we met Iroh, he already was this almost mystical figure of moral, wisdom and patience. Meanwhile we watch Tenzin growth and we see he learn with the other just as much as the other learn with him
-Amon is the true nemesis of Korra. Who read my shit knows about my thoughts about it. But to make it short, he is the villain who most and better parallels Korra not only as a individual but also her in her role as Avatar. He is exactly what Kuvira was supposed to be.
-Ozai is a terrible villain when you think of character development, but a great villain when you think of him more as the personification of all the 100years war. The evil, the destruction, the manipulation, the colonization.
- The Avatar who born as a women are the strongest and the best ones because Raava herself kind of identity as a woman, acting and being seem as feminine, sometimes even passing this vibe of a mother figure. And since we are talking about the yin and yang. It's better for Raava to work with an avatar that matches energies with her, than with one that is the opposite. (Don't know if I could explain my thoughts tho)
-Tarrlok was a creepy and acted hella sus around Korra. Sure he wanted to use her status to climb the political lader of Republic City but Amon also wanted to use her status for a similar purpose, but apart from episode 4, Amon didn't offer any danger to Korra as a woman. In other hand, Tarrlok was acting predatory towards her since the first time he laid his eyes on her. Apart from other stuff but I don't wanna dig into it now, this post is already big
-The comics put the characters too much outta of character for me to truly enjoying them. And the writing ain't as near as good as the show
-Im scared for wherever it can come out from Avatar Studios. I think there's a huge chance of them screw all the avatar series if they don't be careful and thoughtful to what they will do. That's why I more hyped for the live action. The live action can't screw the lore and canon of the shows, Avatar Studios can.
- In the show, Korrasami had the screentime and development they should have. A slowly and realistic friends to lovers. No over sexualization, no unnecessary outta nowhere angst. Just carefully and sensitive writing, along with pure gold content from the animations.
Let's not forget that their relationship wasn't the focus of the last two seasons. It was a really well executed secundary arc

b8 thoughts
honestly b8 is by far the least ive liked a book plot at its opening. like 7 had cool music and an interesting time loop premise, 6 had awesome elm theme (that is elms theme you cowards) and elm himself ofc, 5 was kinda meh (first impression-wise, i do like otr and faf quite a bit) but it had a cool pipe organ, 4 was an absolute breath of fresh air after the travesty that was 3, and at least 3 seemed to promise a "the gacha characters kill you" premise and before then the main cast werent the despicable unlikeable shitheads they are today.
b8, on the other hand, has a somewhat interesting premise and nice designs for hresvelgr and niddhoggr, but it also opens up so many plotholes. if the yggdrassil group really is like a group of valkyrie esque battle medics, where were they when people were being burned alive in b2? where were they when frejya was trapping people in eternal sleep in b4? or eitri experimenting on people, letizia torturing people, the whole golden curse last book, heck you could even argue for gustafs death in b3. the game never lets the main cast be morally accountable for bad stuff they do, ranging from stalking, possessiveness and controlling/gaslighting, to murder, covering up the suffering of innocents, torture, etc. and even with just the explicitly stated stuff its still her betraying her family for an arrogant, posturing, show off jerk who makes insensitive comments abt any culture he isnt familiar with. like at least w reginn i got the feeling that she did what she did bc she is naieve and inexperienced. and with the "uwu anxiety cute" beats of the new character i just feel like theyre going for "the main lord is her comfort character uwu" which just rubs me the wrong way. for one in universe theyre all real horrible people, and for two i just think its a bit demeaning for actual people.
on top of that, while not bad the music i dont find personally quite as striking as b6 and 7 (or even 4), and although i do like hresvelgr and nidhoggr, theyre not like uh.... plumie, njorthr or elm tier of getting my attention and investment. (and also the banners have both been terribly disappointing so far. another kid banner from 13 and a 5 banner with no real faves, could be a lot better)
but while this might sound complaining, which it is, i think it might actually be a good thing. if i go in with no expectation, any decent surprise could be a good one. i also dont risk getting invested, wanting a better plot than is canon (i think the worst offenders were askr getting away with all the awful manipulation he did, just the entire frejya plot of b4, the jotnar sisters and reginn just disowning her brothers in b5 and just whatever tf eitri was, the sadboi motivation of the antagonist of b7 most recently, and thats not even counting temptri), or getting upset if a character isnt playable. (that being said ill be slightly miffed if we dont get a cute hresvelgr and/or nidhoggr for new years, or just their defaults in general, they have good designs)
also also it means i can focus on the better yggdrassil story, my detective-esque fanfiction about a compulsive liar actor and a bunch of cool and cute original characters

just for fun year in review for f-h this time? jan 2020
favorite/notable heroes obtained this year- laegy and hrid seasonals! (summer and new years laegy and new years hrid) and summer ursula as well! v happy abt fallen delthea too! finally getting valentine hecc is v good too, and overall ive had.. pretty good success w getting most if not all of the characters i was hoping for! oh and idunn ofc! im so happy shes in the game!
notable experience(s)- the fking hot spring banner where i got pity broken by.. kat (x2), zelgius, bcelica, laevy, and everyone else on the banner but got no elises at all. and that eli nee decided to come home on my free summon in her leg banner lol. well, consider me bamboozled. also technically this yr but the same is happening w my new years laevy rolls rip
favorite bits- idunn being added is no. 1 id say! i think the latest thracia banner and the intro to b4 are also pretty good, ive a soft spot for the freeblades tbh... (and 5 in general lol). im glad there was more representation for all games overall, and the tms intro in the game is cool too! (i dont rlly like the dub that much but its... inevitable w this game so idk)
least favorite bits- biggest one is b3 probably. poor eir, she deserved better than this story. i think also the 15 banner esp, but that one/8/5/4 not including any faves is annoying. esp since theres only 3 characters across the entire game of 15 that i like, and i dont really like the rest of the cast at all. the new years event (2020) was also made awful by the inclusion of the main characters, and the dancer banner was pretty awful also.
goals- maaaybe sheperds team? ill think abt it. basically the concept is a brigade of all the sheperds (that i have) all 5 stars. 1/3 and 6 pegasus knights and mordecai also maybe? theyre on my list to 5 star eventually. maybe 5 star all 15 characters but thats. eh. bc i dont like them. also a possibility is getting annie when shes added bc i want to reunite her w mercie ; ; getting any of my faves if they appear is good too.
hopes for the next year- id like to have my faves added to the game. 1 character i dont hate being a cyl finalist would be nice, or ill just skip the free summon if i dont like anyone in it. id like to be pity broken by the tms characters or eyvel pls.

idk if its that i gotta get it/negativity out of my system but ok- why i much prefer b2 over b3
most of the arguments ive seen against it is it was “boring” or “lacks development”. and honestly regarding the characters, the latter is quite true, but imo not necessarily a bad thing. not all stories really require a character to develop, and thats ok. from the start to finish, fjorm is dedicated to avenging her mother, sister, and kingdom at any cost to herself, and she stays that way the whole story. albeit technically not the most interesting of characters, but imo if ur gonna blame anyone blame the askr royals for showing up and using some bs deus ex machina of “oh im so smart/good at strategy/nice! uwu” when they do practically nothing.
but enough of my dislike of them aside, i think why i do enjoy b2 is the emphasis more on the central characters’ relationships with each other. we see through voice lines how all 4 nifl siblings view their home, and from that get a bit of their personalities. we see them interact (even despite not sharing screentime) through seasonal events and the fb event. and dont even get me started on the muspell cast- i really love the dynamics between them. laevy and laegy caring so much abt each other and having each others’ backs, laegy and helbindi’s interactions showing the respect for each other as generals, as well as the terrible pressure of the lives of their loved ones because of the kingdom. and how surtr views everyone, especially his own children, as nothing but tools- he may be kind of not the most interesting villain and a bit op but honestly? i mostly just dont really care either way, and theres other villains in the series i find much worse written.
compared to this, b3 just really.... ig you could say it falls flat. my first impression is annoyance that the main character, eir, is kinda forced to the side and made into an object more than a person. i albeit went into it expecting like a pamina-esque internal struggle w her, to obey her mother or to fight for askr, but instead we get her literally as (at best) a tool made by our so called “protagonists”. not that it doesnt fit with their shit personalities. the plot is taken over by basically a worse retelling of a sacred stones-esque father/son clash of ideals/ways of ruling, in which our “main character” does nothing to be likeable or sympathetic, yet still gets accoladed by everyone. it really brings out everything i hate abt the main cast- from uncomfortable personality to butchering of their previous personas in the series for the sake of memes and coddling the royals. and then with the addition of a f/s/n copy pasted “plot twist” its the icing on the shit cake. hopefully b4 starring thorr will be better
anyways b3 makes me angry. b2 is good, menja deserves to be in the game
oh and i also love that summer version laegy and laevy is all abt their familial bond. none of laevy being forced into any ships or made to feel uncomfortable and like a bad person by any shitty royals
