his smuppets and highly specific porn being everywhere and too easily accessible to dave is an obvious problem but again i can imagine it just not crossing bros mind as an issue because hes not touching dave. hes not hugging him or ruffling his hair or holding his hand when they cross the street. he cant do those things with his son because hes grown up with lil cal and lil cal sees those things as intensely sexual. this has never been contested. but strifing isnt sexual. strifing is the new platonic affection. strifing is the opposite of tender. strifing is cool. and hes gotta prepare dave doesnt he? hes gotta make sure they both make it into the medium and win. hes gotta be a heart player, THE heart player. how do you raise a god while also trying to contain and control an absolute evil force, that will never actually be controlled? you cant. itll consume you eventually and you wont even notice. and while youre doing all that you can still indulge in your hobbies and run your smutty sites. sure you can. daves cool. hes pretty grown up already cause you made him so. he wont mind. dont even worry about it bro

Wardrobe 2023 Part 2a: JSKs (Mary Magdalane, IW)

Mary Magdalene - Burberry JSK - Black

This one also runs larger than advertised, and I probably could've left the shirring panel alone if I'd swapped out the straps first, but it was damaged when i got it anyway, and now it goes up to a 100cm bust easily. I also replaced the detachable bows, since they were missing, and made detachable waist ties from scratch (original dress did not have them, but i thought they'd look cute), but I'm still trying to decide what lace to use to replace the tulle on the lining (the tulle was badly damaged when I got it, and had the integrity of wet tissue, so I removed it entirely)

Mary Magdalene - Leitia Frill JSK - Royal Blue

This dress was a risk, since the measurements claim a max bust of 94cm, but it actually runs way, way larger! I believe it'd fit somewhere between 100 and 110, depending on your height and waist. The colour is stunning in person, though a little unusual (its a little lighter than IW's navy and waaay lighter than MM's usual navy, but I don't think it'd match Prussian Blue either? It matches Baby's navy well), and i just really love the false underskirt look. The lace on the waist ties is also a nice detail, and the detachable bow on the skirt is large enough to use as a hair accessory if you have an extra clip.

Mary Magdalene - Farutetto JSK (2017) - Maroon

I still can't believe I managed to get this. It was my first MM dress, and the dress that taught me that some MM does fit a 95cm bust. The quality and detail is insane, its very sturdy for chiffon! I was immediately hooked on the brad. Maroon is probably my favourite colourway of the 8, though I'd still kill to get my hands on navy, mist, and rose someday. I hope they do another release! This is the chinese tea party version, which I think they later rereleased extra stock of in 2023! I've heard the 2022 version is different, but I've never had a chance to see one up close (knowingly, anyway).

I got this one for dirt cheap because it had a stain on the bustle, but i ended up getting the stain out, so it's basically new. I'm thinking of extending the straps a little, though-- it's definitely not made with my height in mind.

Video made by and for olympic fencers but the overall set up of the drill can be used to drill concepts like absetzen or various maisterhaus of the KDF system for example. It’s essentially a form of introducing ‘aliveness’ to a drill to get it more applicable, to make the tactic clearer and more understandable. Arguably a form of a constraints lead approach, wherein the constraints are the types of attacks thrown and to some degree the distance and tempo,but all those, especially the latter two have some degree of freedom for the trainee to get accustomed to. Detailed description from youtube(that would be at least somewhat different for a longsword zwerchau against an oberhau but not necessarily hugely different for an absetzen against a longpoint-ish thrust): “ Important Technical aspects for Successful counter-attack while fencing epee:

 1. Assess your opponent; If you are TALLER, STRONGER, FASTER, QUICKER or SMARTER than your opponent then you will have a much larger room for error.      

1a. If you are any of those qualities above then you can afford to provoke an attack with a regular small-lunge followed by regular recovery. Because of your advantage in size, speed or whit that SHOULD be enough for your to successfully provoke an attack while still making a successful counter-attack (aka Stop-Hit) 

 2. For those situations when you are evenly matched to your opponent or YOU ARE WEAKER THAN YOUR OPPONENT:      

2a. I recommend to provoke your opponent with a half-step where all of your body weight for a split-second will be on your FRONT FOOT. Once your weight is on the front-foot then you should push off with it while extending/stretching with your backfoot FURTHER THAN THE SPOT YOU STARTED AT initially.

     2b. By moving your back foot first after a provocation you will end up recovering further back than if you would have done a simple lunge recovery. This way you will buy an extra few inches of distance will make it easier to make a quality counter-attack 

 3. Arm movement / tip movement: To provoke an attack from your opponent it is best to feint an attack from yourself. YOU DONT ACTUALLY NEED TO RISK IT ALL TO PROVOKE YOUR OPPONENTS     

3a. Try provoking by starting with least risky actions and slowly make your way to actually scoring a hit on a hand/knee/toe.    

 3b. Opponent much more likely to try attacking you if he or she will feel than it is too dangerous to wait. SO IT IS YOUR JOB TO FORCE YOUR OPPONENTS TO MAKE A DECISION. If opponent will be faced with a situation where they will eventually get hit while defending then they are more likely to make an ill-advised attack at you. So make sure to use your tip as a means of REAL threat, including occasionally actually going for the hit 

 4. Tip Placement: If you are very good this may not be very important, because technically you can make a counter-attack to any part of the body. HOWEVER if your point-control is not perfect it can me quite difficult to make a successful counter-attack (stop hit) to a forearm.     

4b. In this case I recommend practicing putting your tip right in the elbow groove of your opponent. This will lead to much more consistent results. If you practice to put the tip right into that grove then there is a higher chance of tip-button to be pressed instead of it just gliding along the forearm. “

ahh!! a fellow curly girl!! if you dont mind me asking, could you go into more detail about your hair type/maintenance? what is your hair’s natural curl type and porosity level and did it change at all after transitioning? how often do you go between “washes” (co-washes)? does your hair tend to get frizzy or lose its shape quickly between washes, or is it pretty durable? also, have you ever used a leave-in product other than gel, and if so why did you move away from that? what kind of gel do you use? do you get special curly-hair cuts/do you think the kind of hair cut matters? do you air-dry or diffuse? thank you in advance!! -a curly girl who would love her hair to look like yours 💓

So, curl type according to Lorraine Massey is Wavy, and according to the number system I guess about 2c on average? Obviously you get different curls all over, and it changes with weather, and hair length, and products, and the movement of the stars, and the fae blessings cast upon you depending on the quality of the cheese you cast in the lake.

But mostly 2c on average. Short bits (I have a fringe) can be as much as 3b, long bits on day 7 can be 2a.

And it MASSIVELY changed after transition (hair transition, I am aware of how that sounds). My first ever curly wash was this:

It curled more as it gained health.

Porosity I don't know, I never really bothered with it. I was told it's one of the things that the internet kind of popularised, but isn't really part of the method - like the moisture/protein balance myth - so I ignored it.

I wash it once a week. Sometimes more often if needed, but once a week as standard. I am extremely lazy so it was one of the big draws of the method because I enjoy Being Still and Doing Nothing. It does lose definition and gain a bit of frizz as the week wears on, of course, but not too much usually? I recently bought the Cantu spray and that's the only thing I've found that successfully allows me to refresh, so that may be about to extend the lifespan of the curls after each wash day.

I tried leaving in some conditioner a couple of times, and it did give better curls, but I stopped doing that - it's too loose a curl pattern for it, so I got greasy faster and also it felt like straw and made me feel like a sexy scarecrow, which more power to you if that's the dream but personally is not my bag. So I just use gel. I generally use Shockwaves Ultra Strong (the weight of my hair means I do need a firmer gel hold), but in summer I switch to Tuff Stuff because my summer hair loathes glycerin.

Haircut: yes, I'd say with curls the outcome is one third products, one third technique, and one third cut. I gave myself a unicorn cut initially, and it instantly looked better. I did find a proper CGM trained stylist and bit the bullet in the end, though. I figured I'd go once, get the proper style, and then trim it myself. But, first of all it's a consultation as much as a haircut, so v useful, and secondly, it's the first time in my life I've trusted and enjoyed a hair stylist, so I go to her once a year. Previously my experience with hair stylists was always being told "Oh, look at this lovely long hair to chop off!" which made me want to drop kick them through the window, and was inevitably followed by them agreeing to cut off an inch and then removing half my fucking hair. Like ffs Karen I wanted a trim, not to give you my daughter's hand in marriage.

Drying: I diffuse, ain't nobody got time for air drying. Plus if I diffuse upside down I get Volume, which is a challenge with the weight of it. That said, in hot weather I have air dried. My method is to put the diffuser on a chair at the foot of the bed, set a stool over the side of the bed, and then lie on the bed with my hair over the side on top of the stool in the path of the warm air. Resting on the stool means some of the weight is removed so it helps to curl up to the root. Then as it dries I shuffle down the bed to get the next bit into the warm air and thus get to lounge about like a Roman emperor demanding to be hand fed grapes (I truly am dedicated to my laziness and also good lower back support). I believe it is called hammock diffusing, although my bed set up is my own addition.

have the watchers ever actually destroyed anything? I've been thinking about how it would be pretty cool if they are weird extra-dimensionals that can only place blocks and add to the world but can't remove anything

ooh, this is an interesting one! I think the answer's yes and no, depending on what you think of the old spawn and what your definitions of destroyed anything are. Some of the portal rooms and stuff are underground, implying they'd excavated it which involves moving blocks. But otherwise, they do mostly do things like create towers and obelisks, make statues, send meteors, and put obsidian on the chests. I think overall they're definitely a lot more associated with creation than destruction, especially since they are associated with helping the Evolutionists get to the next update that inevitably adds more things to the game. I'm having trouble remembering if they ever directly destroyed a building built by a player (meteor not counting since it was the meteor that destroyed the building, not the Watchers directly.) I do think some of their towers/portals might disappear though, but I can't remember.

Now back to spawn--after the dragon fight, their old spawn is destroyed. The Listeners tell Jimmy he's been "dragged forward in time" and that the spawn is now old and rotten. It is pretty run down and clearly meant to look old, with lots of vines and overgrown leaves and cracks in roads. The other Evolutionists find the same broken spawn, implying they've?? time traveled too?? i really think we dont talk about the implication they've time traveled enough tbh

But the spawn is only destroyed in a certain radius, afterwhich the whole world is normal, which they all find strange. From a meta reason I'm almost certain that this is because it would be WAYYY too much effort to do that to every build in the server, lol. I also think it's a meta excuse to go out to unloaded chunks for a new update that is possibly incompatible with the previous world gen, and a way to give the server a fresh start after Grian left. But it does bring to my mind three things:

1. The more obvious one. Nobody destroyed spawn, and spawn is just old. They're possibly in the future, and the radius around the town is just for saving time.

2. The Watchers possibly destroyed it, to make some sort of point? Because the Watchers are the ones who tell the Evolutionists that they must leave the land and take only what they can carry. The Watchers also tell the Evolutionists that "this" (spawn destroyed? grian being gone?) is all their fault for the actions they've taken. IIRC Martyn remarks that he thinks the Watchers are being cruel to them for this, and there's sort of the idea that the Watchers maybe wanted to make sure that the Evolutionists saw all of their homes destroyed.

2a. Watchers didn't directly mess with spawn but did make sure that some time had passed in order for it to become run-down before the players came back to the overworld from the end.

3. My crack theory that possibly the Listeners destroyed it, in order to try and turn the players more against the Watchers, since we know from Martyn that the Listeners were trying to get the Evolutionists away from the Watchers. This is also because I generally associate the Listeners with destruction/decay while I associate the Watchers with creation--and that's because all of the Listener builds that we see in the series are significantly more run-down and old looking than the Watcher builds. They've got cracked floors with holes and generally look older. This is the most tenuous implication ever, but I did base a whole headcanon off it lol

Now that I've written you a novel about this, I will say that I love your headcanon, it's really cool! I like the idea of them only being able to react to the world in a one-sided way. Watching and looking, which is passive. Placing signs and books and blocks, but not able to accept or destroy things.

Oh shit.

You flew down the hall, bursting into Kaminari’s bedroom without knocking. The blonde sat up quickly at your intrusion, but relaxed slightly upon seeing it was you.

“What’s up speed racer?” He joked, folding his legs up to make room for you on the bed. You walked up to the side of the bed, dropping your knees on the edge and falling forward face-down onto the covers.

“I messed up, Denki,” You groaned, rolling over onto your back and staring at the ceiling. “I sent a text to Shinsou-”

He let out a little snort. “Now that’s unusual.”

“Yeah,” You agreed. “Because it was a text that was not meant for him.” 

“It couldn’t have been that bad, right?” He asked, now a little nervous. You couldn’t blame him. You and Kaminari had clicked instantly at the beginning of your first year at U.A., and now you’d pretty much consider him your best friend, and you his. But come the end of first year, with the trial and following announcement that Shinsou Hitoshi, general ed student, would be transfering into the hero course- and more specifically- your class, Kaminari Denki had seemed to collect himself yet another best friend. 

And you had made your first rival.

You hadn’t wanted to. But when you had first heard about Shinsou’s quirk, people couldn’t help but compare it to yours. As long as you maintained skin to skin contact, you could command another person to do anything that you wanted. Paired with your athletic background (which started when you were young, at the insistence of your parents that it’d “prepare you for hero training”) you were clearly the superior “mind control” student. You didn’t understand why another one was needed in the hero course. Wasn’t he just fine being in the general course?

But of course he had to join class 2A, become Aizawa’s favorite, and start to steal the attention of your best friend.

But Kaminari was his own person, and he made his own choices about when he hung out with the two of you. It really wasn’t fair to put him in the middle of your mess of feelings. And even though he was Shinsou’s friend, you knew he would keep your secrets.

You turned onto your side to look at him. “Here just- read this.” You shoved your phone at him. He took it in his hand, his face contorting into a grimace as he read your mistake once, twice, three times.

“...Why the hell did you send him this?” You slapped your hands against your face in embarrassment and despair. He mockingly cleared his throat. “‘Can you believe purple hair beat me in today’s exercise? Why does he have to basically have my quirk? If he wasn’t so hot I’d be really pissed.’” Kaminari let out a whistle. “Wow, now there is a lot to unpack here, hun.”

You winced. “Yeah, that text was supposed to go to Mina, but I mean- fucking hell, I don’t know?” You ran your hands over your face. “I guess I somehow just clicked the wrong contact and instead it went to him! And it’s even worse that he hasn’t responded about it yet.” You’d never outright said to Shinsou that you disliked him, but you had to assume he knew, and felt the same way about you.

“I didn’t know you thought he was hot,” Kaminari said, wiggling his eyebrows. You launched a pillow at him that he ducked. 

“C’mon, anyone with a brain can see that he’s attractive,” You muttered. “It’s the same as Todoroki, or maybe Bakugou if you took away some of the attitude.”

He let out a sigh. “Yeah you’re right.” After a moment of silence he pressed your phone back into your hand. “Anyways, I think the best approach would be to sort it out face to face. Texting can make things too muddled sometimes.”

“Since when did you have so much wisdom?” 

He nudged you with a knee. “Hey, there’s a reason you came running to me.”

“I suppose you’re right.” It’ll probably be really awkward and not fun, but you should try to explain yourself in person.

Which is how you found yourself on the outskirts of the woods by the dorm buildings watching Shinsou workout, your presence still unnoticed as his back was turned to you. Kaminari had directed you here, knowing that his friend often trained here on his own. 

Suddenly he relaxed his stance, speaking without turning around. “What, you got more to say to me than what was in that text?”

You gritted your teeth at his words. What is up with his attitude!? “Yeah, well maybe I do.” You crossed your arms, shifting most of your weight onto one foot.

Shinsou glanced over his shoulder. “Sucks for you, I’m busy.” He reached down to the ground and slung his towel over his shoulder. “Since my quirk is clearly inferior to yours, I need to keep training.” You winced slightly at his words.

“Hey, I never said it like that-”

“Yeah, well you didn’t have to.” He sighed before turning to face you fully. “Look, I get it, you feel like I’m trying to take your spot here at U.A. Well just- don’t worry about it, okay? I’ll stay out of your way.”

As he began walking away, you found yourself stepping after him. “Shinsou, it’s not fair to phrase it that way.”

He stopped and turned to face you once more. “What do you know about ‘not fair’?” Shinsou took a step closer to you. “‘Not fair’ is getting into the general class, only to see someone just like me being praised for their power in the hero course. ‘Not fair’ is working as hard as I can to make my dreams come true, only to find out that I still have to compete against you. ‘Not fair’ is wanting to so desperately hate you for it all, but I can’t. Not when I see your strength, your power, your drive and ambition, and I can’t help but admire it. Admire you.” He let out a soft snort of mock amusement to himself. “I do kind of hate you for that, though.”

You stood there in silence. What do I even say to that? Shinsou watched you warily, waiting for a reaction.

“I don’t hate you, not really,” You said slowly. As good a place to start as any. “Resented you, yes, but hate is a strong word.” As you continued talking, your mouth let more and more words spill out, words you didn’t even know you had wanted to say. “And yeah, I was worried that you’d ‘take my spot’ or whatever, but I think that was the competitive nature of this school getting to me. They support friendly competition between students, but maybe I took that too much to heart.” You toed at the ground, slowly looking up to meet his eyes. “I was worried about you joining our class because I think you have amazing control over your quirk and you’re really talented. You really do have the potential to be an incredible hero. And I think… I’d like it better if we were friends, instead of pitting ourselves against each other.”

As you waited for Shinsou’s response, you started to get antsy. Why do I care so much about what he’s going to say?

Finally he answered. “Alright. Friends is a good place to start.” He held his hand out to you, as if to shake on it. Hesitatingly you reached out, your fingers firmly grasping his. He tightened his grip. “Should we also acknowledge that you said I was hot in your text?”

His words brought on a wave of nerves, and you yanked your hand back as if it were on fire. “That- That was a typo!” He began walking back towards the dorms with you hurrying to catch up to him.

As you matched his stride, he huffed out a laugh and sent you a knowing smile. “Sure, whatever you say.”

1. vivaldi (childishly, again) , really really likes to parade alice and how close she is with her around in front of other people- ace, peter, blood- to show off. EXCEPT, nightmare, who she shows off a bit to but then seems to really want to leave her alone. might you be having some embarassing crushing lovey dovey thoughts, hmmmmmmmmmmm? ;) she has a reputation to uphold. its a power move to show off your arm candy, but not a power move to be caught loving.

1c- yes this is correct i added it later- thats kind of like what blood does too, huh? hes all a big flirt guy till he gets called on it being serious, at which point how DARE you accuse him of LOVING SOMEONE. but with blood i think the dichotomy is more like "im very sexual"/"how dare you think i LOVE", whereas with vivaldi its "people belong to me"/"how dare you think i belong to people". idk idk idk thats just my initial thoughts

I saw peter's second event, and some VERY interesting things happened- first off, alice is blaming herself for spending time with him despite The, You Know, The Prologue, and he immediately says to put the blame on him, to accuse him, it's his fault she keeps showing up. which really really pinged for me as a reason that you find sometimes find ppl, especially women, writing romanticized assault/rape/dubious consent in romance novels- people, this school of thought says, especially women, are made to feel bad for wanting and desiring, and this allows the woman target audience to experience what they want without the guilt of wanting it. honk continues to be a really really good fiction-as-escapism allegory, and while i do not necessarily agree with how they handle consent (LOLOLOLOL UNDERSTATEMENT), im very intrigued by the paralell drawn here, that honestly i am willing to hand to them as being on purpose. (shriekcast voice The Auteur's Respect)

2a. alice realizes that something feels off about his love confessions, almost like they're empty, almost like...almost....almost........

I love the sibling relationship between blood and vivaldi, the way they snark at each other (you invite me in DAYTIME?? my LEAST FAVORITE TIME??? i am going to drink you out of house and home), but also the way that at the end of the day they are very much enemy territory leaders, that the rules come first, that vivaldi in her stay route doesnt even name him when she tells alice she used to have a brother because the Queen Role has no parents or siblings, it no longer matters. its very sad. in another world they could rely on each other, maybe. here they can trust to not poison each other when rules dont allow it, but if it came down to it, if they found themselves on the other side of a scheduled war or duel ... who knows?

Hello its CHIP!!! 

 this is my very first blog post. I’d like to talk about expectations in relationships! 

1a) from the moment i was born people have placed expectations on me to behave, think, or feel a certain way

2a) ive taken in these expectations placed on me, and ive sculpted my own expectations for myself. expectations on how i should behave, think or feel.

3a) lastly, after internalizing all these different expectations, ive naturally began to place these expectations onto other people.

This isn't something alone that I do. Everybody around me does this as well. Whether you are in a work place, a romantic relationship, a friendship, roommates, whatever etc blah blah. EVERYBODY internalizes expectations, and places expectations on their environment. It's quite a natural thing.

As natural as a phenomenon this is, ive learned it can be quite destructive when these expectations aren't being communicated.

For example, a relationship i was just end was completely obliterated because the whole time I thought everything was amazing, it was never communicated that my expectations for the other person was too much to bear. (Really hoping they do not find this post).

Theres some bullet points to outline that whole situation too. So that it can be more clear for those reading this blog post to follow too i hope.

1b) I felt that my expectations for this person were fairly low. In fact i never really communicated clearly what my expectations for them were, I spent a lot of time accepting this person for who they were. Despite this time i spent BELIEVING i was accepting this person for who they are, there are still expectations that naturally formed. For example, in return of accepting this person for who they were i expected a long lasting, permanent relationship. There also were expectations for this person to grow alongside me. This idea that I would accomplish all these great feats with someone and we would grow strong together. All these expectations felt very small in the moment, but i supposed they really were a lot.

Other than expecting growth, and companionship. I didn't really have other expectations. All the flaws this dear friend of mine had I didn't really mind. Messy, reckless, chatty blah blah i dont even think of them as flaws. Just parts of a person I grew to know. I'm really spilling my guts out in this blog post. This is just how things are. Now that they are over it doesn't really matter how I felt in the past. I feel much different now. Indulge in these old feelings that millions of others also indulge in feeling.

2b) However because i never really communicated what my expectations for them were, they constructed their own idea of what my expectations for them. See bulllet point 2a above. I suppose the expectations for growth and companionship were communicated, but I never told them that I dont really mind how they are. I'm not quite sure what expectations of mine they felt were too much for them. Nothing was ever communicated so I dont even know if thats what ended the friendship. All I know is that the friendship was spontaenously ended. In fact so little was communicated, I dont really know why it ended. All i understand is that its over. One day I had my bestfriend, the next they see me as their enemy and I dont even know what I did. Writing this is part of coming to terms with it. Even if it’s all speculation.

3b) near the end of the relationship, i began to feel like the expectations being placed on me were getting a little ridiculously high. In hindsight i believe it was because they felt the same way. That doesnt really need much of an explanation. The story tells itself.

and shinsou walks in, highkey stressed already cause he’s finally in the hero course for real and he’s starting to gain confidence in his abilities and stuff but he’s faced off against these kids and they’re no joke and then iida’s over there like shouting at everyone???? it pushes shinsou over the edge

he said he’d never use his ability on his classmates outside training but

he’s just like ‘hey iida’ and iida’s like ‘YES WHAT AHH SHINSOU NO PLEASE STAY RIGHT THERE WE DONT YET KNOW WHERE YOULL-’ and shinsou brainwashes him and is just like. iida for the love of fuck please just sit down and stop shouting you’re stressing me out like just. breathe oh my god

and everyone in that exact moment is like holy fuck we need to be careful not to piss shinsou off

shinsou lets go of the brainwashing but only once aizawa walks in behind him, and iida’s too focused on the arrival of the teacher (again okay let me dream lmao) to form a response to what shinsou did

but he spends the entire class thinking abt it

and he finds shinsou after, and shinsou’s like look. i’m sorry i really shouldn’t have done that i was already stressed and i needed you to not be shouting and iida’s like no (stern gaze) i have to thank you, actually. i didn’t realize how badly i was acting, and how that must’ve affected you but i assure you the students of class 1a i mean 2a are nothing but delighted to have you join us

and this is the first time in shinsou’s entire life that someone has actually thanked him for using his power on them (except deku but that didn’t count cause he was in danger) and it kinda leaves him speechless?? 

and then u know iida’s like I WOULD LIKE TO BECOME THE BEST HERO EVER AND LIVE UP TO MY BROTHER’S LEGACY AND actually i feel like i know everyone else in the class too well, and fighting them has become a little predictable (even if he hasn’t yet figured out how to beat some of his more powerful classmates) so would shinsou want to train with him?

and shinsous like oh. uh. yeah. sure? but on the inside he’s just. utterly thrilled to be so quickly accepted into the already tight-knit dynamic of the class

so they train, and as the Class President™ iida feels it’s his most important duty to make sure shinsou catches up on anything he might’ve missed from last year, so he makes a point of finding time to tutor shinsou. shinsou’s lowkey like aizawa kinda taught me all this already but okay bc hey he kinda likes iida’s determination and straightforwardness. he’s also maybe still hanging onto the fact that iida had actually been kind of grateful for shinsou using his quirk on him

but this leads to shinsou getting a very clear idea of just how tight-wound iida is, and one day - when iida’s getting just a little too much - shinsou takes control again, but this time he forces iida to breathe and lay down until he’s relaxed a bit. and the he releases his control, expecting iida’s wrath, but iida’s kind of just like. oh. so that’s how it feels to not be totally stressed out all the time

and again shinsou’s hit with the realization that iida just. can’t fathom him as using his power for villainous reasons??? whereas iida’s more like. he’s seen how shinsou’s acted, he pays close attention, and in his mind he thinks shinsou would be someone who stain would’ve wanted to spare - a real hero, the kind he wants to be, someone who works hard to help others in spite of any backlash he might receive for it

We’re friendly, chatty folks- if you’re not interested fast-paced convos we probably aren’t for you! We do our best to keep things fresh and active, but as a result of such, have found it necessary to implement several rules. 1) Be Cool

   1A) This includes respecting these creators. Don’t say anything you wouldn’t say to their face, both in terms of subject and tone. The language you use conveys a different meaning (ie saying ‘griffin goofed that a little vs berating him) and that matters.

   1B) Going off of the above point, we have decided to ban hypothetical “maybe whys” regarding late episodes. While often well-meaning in giving them credit for not being perfect-content producing machines, it does not change the fact that theories are for characters, not real people.

   1C) We also have decided to ban anxiety-ridden “What-ifs” regarding on why episodes may be delayed: if it is causing you serious emotional distress, it belongs in vent (however if the conversation spirals into people spouting off what-ifs we will intervene).

   2A) We discourage hyper-analysis of TAZ as it is simply put, not built or meant for that and will not stand up to such analysis, which can be a big downer on a server about loving TAZ. There is no actual prohibition on such conversations… for the time being.

   2B) Our stance on art/fic shaming is as follows: If it falls under obama's second amendment, such as whitewashing tones or features, conflicts with LGBT/ND/POC canon or headcanons (bearing in mind lots of folks are projecting their own real-life struggles), or the content is so horrifically awful (:remyvore:), you're fine. Direct attacks on the arts style, quality, and general artistry will not be tolerated.

id like to make sure everyones actually reading these to some extent, so please tell me your favorite amnesty character n why when you ask to join!

   2C) Related to the aforementioned headcanons, there will be little tolerance for "but why"-ing POC,ND, and LGBT headcanons. It is also unnecessary to insert that you disagree with someone else's headcanon on such topics. Serious, genuine discussion is fine.

   2D) Minimum server age is 14, Maximum 25. Please do not invite anyone to the server without privately asking a moderator. Public requests will be ignored and/ or deleted.

   2E) We want to highlight everyone art fairly, so #art-and-stuff has a 5 minute (ish) cooldown between art posts. We just ask you wait five or so minutes before posting your art after someone else.

   2F) Please be conscientious in both vent channels. Obviously ‘mood’, ‘same’, ‘kin’ ‘f’, ect are entirely inappropriate and won't be tolerated, longer messages with the same message (‘yea i’ve been there sucks man, oh yeah me too, ect) are equally unwelcome. Finger Induced Lucid Dream (FILD)

FILD (Finger Induced Lucid Dream) Short Version: Simplified Directions: The Setup: 1. Go to sleep. It's that simple.. No hypnosis or visualization required. 2. To perform this technique, you have to be extremely close to falling asleep. The best time is either in the middle of the night, or in the morning. However, using this technique in the morning can often cause shorter LDs. 3. If you want to try FILD during the night, you have to find some way to wake up. There are various methods.. Find one that works for you. 4. Once you wake up, the first thing that should be on your mind is the FILD technique. Immediately relax, and try to go back to sleep how you normally would. The goal here is to get to the point just before you fall back to sleep. Once you've reached this point, begin the FILD technique. If you fall back to sleep, don't worry... you can try again when you wake up. The Technique: 1. Imagine for a second that you are playing a piano using your index and middle finger with one hand. Your fingers are side by side on two keys. Now, press your right finger down, leaving your left finger up. Next, press your left finger down, and lift your right finger back up. Repeat this up and down motion. 2. So you have the motion down? Try this: Imagine you are playing the piano again (using the same motion), but this time, press the keys so lightly that they don't go down. Give it a try on your computer keyboard - you should basically feel your muscles contract, but your fingers should hardly move. 3. You're almost there. All you have to do is use this finger movement when you wake up. Once you reach step 4 on the setup process, start moving your fingers. Focus on the movement. By directing your focus, you will fall asleep within seconds. Do not count your finger movements or talk to yourself in your head. Also, do not try to make yourself go to sleep.. that will only wake you up. That's it! 4. Once about 10 to 20 seconds have passed, take your other hand, and perform a nose RC. Simply pinch your nose and try to breath in. If you can, you're dreaming! 5. If you find that the RC doesn't work, don't worry.. you can try again. Just go to sleep normally, and try again when you wake up. Original Directions from LD4ALL: 1. Go to sleep: - You want to do this tech when you are the most tired. For some people, it's 3 hours after you have gone to sleep, for others, 5, or you can do it in the morning (harder) - might help to tell your self to wake up after your dreams (Like in the MILD tech.).. haven’t tried this yet - Try playing very soft music in the background when you go to sleep if you want to wake up during the REM state. Make sure it's very very soft, and has no beat/voice in it. 2. This is the hardest part of the technique. You need to get into a state where you are very tired, and feel like you could easily fall asleep. To achive this, you either have to wake up from a dream during the night, set an alarm clock for the time where you will be the most tired, or use the dream period in the morning. 2a. (Unreliable, but easy if you wake up) If you find that you have just woken up from a dream in the middle of the night or you set your alarm to wake you up, you should already feel very tired. Continue to step 3. (if not, just go back to sleep. You could try to relax, but I dont think it would work too well.) 2b. (most reliable) If you have set an alarm clock for 3, 5 or however many hours works best for you, you should wake up in a tired state. Try relaxing, and when you feel like your very close to sleep, contine to step 3. However, if you have woken up, and dont feel tired at all, I would go back to sleep. 2c. (hard and unreliable) If you have woken up in the morning, you might not feel very tired. (You might be relaxed, but you would find it hard to start sleeping agian.) To get into this "tired" state, you should go back to sleep. In about 30 mins (or more), you will wake up again. When you wake up this time (try not to move or open your eyes), try to relax as much as possible and see how tired you feel. (Be carefull you dont fall back to sleep) If you feel very tired, continue to step 3. Otherwise, go back to sleep, and try again when you wake up. 3. Relax. Once you think you are about to fall asleep again (You should already feel like this when you wake), you need to start moving part of your body, It should just be a very small movement, and it needs to be repetitive. I recommend using your fingers. - What I do is this: Right now, imagine you are playing a piano with 2 fingers: your pointer and middle finger. Push one key down, lift it back up and at the same time, press the other finger down. Just keep going back and forth between the fingers. I have my hand under my pillow when i did this, but Im sure it would work anywhere. Just make sure the movement is very small, and takes very little energy to perform it. (I was just doing this on my right hand) - Another Note: When you are moving you fingers, don’t try to visualize anything, just think to you self that you will do this for 10-30 secs, and then check to see if it's a dream. - Also, do not tell your self all the actions you are going to do, and do not "count" while you do this tech... Just say to your self, you will do a RC in 10-30 secs, and then just lay there, moving you fingers. - Try to focus on the movement, and just try to relax. - Do not focus on trying to fall asleep (it will keep you awake). Keep focus on your fingers, do not let your mind wander. 4. Once you start the motion, try to relax (as much as you can, but don’t force it. Dont "try" to fall asleep) and wait about 10-30 seconds (keep your fingers moving). During this short time, tell your self that you will wait about 10-30 secs, and then you will check to see if you are in a dream. (Don’t count in your head) Once the 10-20 secs have passed, do a nose RC (Where you pinch your nose closed, and try to breath in.. If you can, you are in a dream). If the RC fails, just try to go to sleep normally for a few mins (no motion or RCs), and try the tech one more time. If it fails again, go to sleep, and try again later that morning. If it works it should only take 10-30 secs. Do not lay there doing a RC every 30 secs over and over, it will just wake you up even more. - The first time I did this, I thought that It wasn’t going to work. After the 10-30 secs, I still was sure that I was still trying to fall asleep, with my fingers moving. However, when I did a RC, I realized it was a dream. I thought to my self "wow, I’m in a LD, I guess it does work" - On 7-4-04, I found that whenever I started to dream, I had a tingly sensation all over my body. 5. If the nose RC works, try to get out of bed... - I found that in the morning, when I tried to get out of bed in the dream, I would wake up immediately when I tried to move. If this happens to you, you should try this: once you realize that you are dreaming from the nose RC, keep your eyes closed, and keep pinching your nose. Continue to breath through your nose. Wait about 10-30 secs, and then try to visualize your room in your head (like your looking at it thru your closed eyes). The image should slowly come to you, and once it has, get out of bed, and you shouldn’t wake up from the movement. NOTE: When this works successfully, the real world (where you were moving you fingers) will be transitioned into the dream world (You will dream that you are still moving your fingers, and trying to relax). Some people are telling me that they are trying to move their fingers, and then do a RC every 30 secs.. That's not what you should do. If the 1st RC fails, stop the finger movement, and RCs, and try to relax for a few mins, then, try the tech once more. If it fails again, go to sleep, and try again later that morning. Hope that helps Things to try: Instead of waiting only 10-30 secs, see what happens if you wait more like 1-5 mins. (When I discovered this tech. I kept waking up from what I thought was the real world, and realizing that it was entirely a dream.. So I tried again, and told my self to wait a few secs, and then do a RC.. and it worked). I think that it is either going to work, or it's not going to work, do not lay there for 20 mins moving your fingers. If it doesn’t work, go back to sleep, or try relaxing for another few mins.

TLJ spoilers, obviously. also my issues are going to be numbered in no particular order bc my thoughts on this movie are so fucking scrambled but here we go

1. Kyle Ron. First of all fuck Ryeanne for making me see so many goddamn closeups of Adam Driver’s ugly ass face. I did not need to see all that he is so goddamn ugly especially that fucking shirtless scene where he looks like a block of pasty ass pale wood.

But for real, Kylo Ren. I don’t actually take issue with his existence, because Kyle really does excellently represent rich ass white boys who have everything handed to them but throw a hissy fit when they face the slightest adversity an throw tantrums all the time. It’s nice to see a villain that represents most people real-life nightmares instead of like, a Sexy Temptress or Old Evil Man or whatever. That being said, kyle is not given the villain’s treatment in this movie. if you cut out all the scenes where ryan is not actively sucking adam driver’s dick and jizzing all over himself over kyle’s angsty white boy angst, the movie has virtually no real plot (”oh no we are in space with no fuel, nobody is going to do anything except get mad at each other, miscommunicate, and deliberately make all the characters of color worthless while separating Finn and Poe bc fuck the gays”). So much of the movie is spent not just establishing how kyle became kyle (which is good! backstory for villains is good!), but trying to get us to like, sympathize with him? which is the shitty part. I dont care that Luke “”””tried to kill”’’’ (he didn’t) kyle. kyle had turned to the dark side before luke’s mistake. kyle had a million and one chances to change his mind from the start of TFA to the end of TLJ, and he never did. Kyle is an evil guy. We need one of those. He’s a great evil guy bc he’s got so many shitty qualities. But ryin doesnt want us to hate kyle, even tho hes the villain. why the fuck doesnt reean want us to hate kyle? bc rayan is also a shitty little man who thinks giving ur white boy a sob story makes him a sympathetic villain and sidelining ur characters of color will help.

also again the fucking shirtless scene what the shit man that was so gross

2. Will be broken down into A, B, C, etc. bc TLJ treats its characters of color like SHIT. 

2A. Finn. Finn gets put in a coma bc why would anyone want to write anything interesting for john boyega its not like hes the MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN and the MOST TALENTED ACTOR who is being sidelined bc ryun hates black people. Yeah Finn is totally into Rey and he wants to save her and is willing to desert the rebellion for her. that happened in the first movie but why give your characters real arcs when you can recycle old ones to jerk off to kyle ron. the rose thing happens, shes like “we can disable the tracking” and like TWO SECONDS after he was dead set on desertion he’s totally down to risk his life for the rebellion at rey’s expense? that sure is a quick 180 with no real reason why and no writing to explain it! then there was the whole “separate finn and poe” thing ryain pulled for the shits and giggles.

2B. Rose. I was pretty chill with Rose, she had a dope backstory, her sister was badass, and I liked that they made that connection off the bat. I’m not mad about anything rayn did with her character but i genuinely believe thats only because i havent thought about it enough yet. give me a week and i’ll figure out how rain fucked it up. open to suggestions.

2C. Poe. Full offense but was I supposed to be mad at Poe for coming up with a plan when that bitch Holdo was like “I’m not gonna tell you my plan sit tight and be convinced we are all going to die :)” i legitimately did not understand how I was supposed to be mad at poe for doing what he thought was best for the rebellion after he asked holdo what the plan was and she was deliberately obstinate and refused to even be like “dont worry i have a plan” she was just like. so dumb. Also poe got thrown around a lot and i am A Little Suspicious of how much physical violence he experienced compared to many other characters.

2D. You guessed what was next! The slaps! Super awesome how the two men of color were slapped by white people!!!! So deep!!!!!!! For real tho uh the second time i saw this movie someone in the audience laughed when poe got slapped by space hitler hux and uh??? not funny. not funny or cute or clever to use the guy you built your entire nazi imagery on to slap the one black man on your cast. i dont care if it was supposed to make us “hate hux” or whatever more. i already hated hux reyn. you could have used that screentime in your 3 fucking hour long movie for something valuable, like giving finn a character arc, or literally anything else besides that goddamn slap. i was livid watching that.

and then with leia and poe? i get that part of the conflict was internal in the resistance and one of the major themes was how failure is the best teacher and all that but like? maybe stop physically assaulting all your characters of color? maybe uhhhh at least think about that first??

2E. like i mentioned before one of the obvious themes was how failure is the best teacher so naturally all the major characters had to fail at something, and then learn from their mistake to be better next time. with luke it was fucking up with kyle, with rey it was being naive enough to think kyle could turn, with poe it was the dreadnaught thing, finn was left out of this because raan dooesn give a shit abt finn bc hes a racist bastard, etc. but it was incredibly transparent how all of the white characters’ mistakes meant either personal losses or something small scale with one person, while the mistakes of the characters of color (poe/finn/rose) were all ones that cost the rebellion the vast majority of their forces. rey got out of her fight with kyle and snoke unscathed. luke got a lot of guilt and character development. What did finn poe and rose get? the deaths of like 99% of the resistance on their shoulders. A little too coincidental that even though rey LITERALLY GAVE HERSELF OVER TO SNOKE she was totally fine a-ok no real scars, finn and poe and rose doing their best to save the rebellion while admiral holdo refuses to tell them anything costs the resistance so fucking much. rey does the DUMBEST FUCKING THING with no real consequences and finn and poe and rose try their best and are punished severely for it.

2F. Really convenient how everything finn, poe, and rose did ended up being useless and just cost the rebellion lives, whereas at least rey’s mishap got snoke killed and taught her a lesson. reeeeaaaalllllyyyyyy convenient how finn, poe, and rose’s plan was a huge waste of time. it would have been much better for us to see an actual plot line with them that contributed to the story and their characterizations instead of “send them on a goose chase, make it pointless in the end, physically brutalize them along the way.

3. R*yl* bullSHIT: ryyn had a really fun time with a lot of very rape-y scenes in this movie. the whole force-connection thing with kyle and rey was soooooo uncalled for, it reeked of non-con fantasies, catered to the r*yl*s like nothing ever before, and was so goddamn gross. the obvious invasion of privacy and lack of consent was nasty, using it as a shitty device to make rey “come around” on kyle was NASTY and that whole thing was nasty. i know im not articulating this well but there was so much about that whole thing that bothered me. i just know reyhan was so fucking into it, inserting kyle into rey’s life, forcing her to completely drop all of her characterization in the first movie to suddenly thing kyle can be good, acting as if rey hasnt seen all the shit and known what hes done. the whole thing was gross and a really obvious example of why men shouldn’t be allowed to direct movies.

4. killing snoke was a dumbass fucking mistake. kyle is a tantrum-throwing temper-losing toddler. snoke was evil and mysterious and shit idk. we knew he was powerful as fuck, he looked like a testicle which is a great villain imo, he was the darth sidious and they killed him off while kyle is still in like. ep2!Anakin levels of angst. i get that kyle is already powerful or whatever but like. hes not cold and calculated the way snoke was. kyle is a good villain, but a weak main baddie bc hes dumb as fuck. he let the rebellion get away bc he was pissed at luke. that was dumb as fuck. kyle is ruined by his emotions, and snoke was a scarier main baddie bc he wasnt so fucking dumb lol

5. it was so fucking long. there were so many scenes that could have been cut or shortened. why did we need to see luke milking the tiddy of that weird alien cow thing. why did we need to see kyle ron shirtless. why did we need so many goddamn shots of the fucking porgs.

6. ya the porgs are cute or whatever but like. that whole “look at how sad the cute big-eyes porg is when chewie is eating his friend” thing was so dumb. i dunno why but i hated that the most. that was the worst thing the porgs did. they were cute but like chill disney u know they like ran algorithm after algorithm to make that porg the cutest it could be with science or some bullshit and like? thats dumb.

7. i get that the humor in star wars movies is shifting but i felt like there was too much of it and it was dumb. a lot of the riffs werent funny and there were too many of them for a star wars film. star wars usually doesnt take itself too seriously, but this one was a little too much for me.

8. there were too many plot twists for shock value. the story went on too long. it should have ended earlier but it didnt. i dont know why ryenn decided to have like 6 different climaxes but it was too much. should have let there be one climax buddy. thats it.

9. holdo. besides holdo being the white feminist icon why didnt she just fucking tell poe the plan. why. why was so deliberately obstinate when it was doing no good. like yeah of course poe sent out a crew to try to save the rebellion all u told him to shut up and let you handle it! obvously what she did in the end was badass or whatever but like uh hun next time dont be a piece of shit and then get mad when people react to you being a piece of shit. i would have been okay with all that happening if holdo wasnt treated like some hero who never made any mistakes. she did make a mistake, and that was refusing to tell poe what her plan was when she knew he was absolutely the type to do whatever he could to save the rebellion whether he had her permission or not. also apparently holdo is a lesbian or bi or not straight or something in like the comics or whatever and like 1. classic bury ur gays but also 2. no more word of god gay characters if a character is not gay in the movies i will not give you the gay cred for it sorry homophobes

10. i didnt buy the story w luke and kyle at lukes jedi training facility or whatever. surprisingly, i was ok with lukes story line and character development, and actually agreed with it for the most part, but i just like. i dunno i didnt feel like that was something luke would do. not because luke is infallible (even tho he is my gay dad who has never done anything wrong ever) but because the entire original trilogy is luke believing darth vader could be saved. and while im not opposed to luke changing his mind about whether or not everyone could be turned away from the dark side (luke was young and optimistic in the original trilogy, and as he grew older he would learn more about the jedi and their history like the whole speech he gave rey about how the jedi have to end bc theyre lowkey shitty). i actually kind of liked luke’s hot take on the jedi, because it was lowkey my hot take on the jedi (esp the prequels jedi who were shitty as Fuuuuuck but we are ignoring the prequels for now lbr) but also because i could believe it was a view luke would come to as he aged. but impulsively drawing his lightsaber to kill kyle before he had actually done anything bad, after suspecting that kyle had darkness in him for a while, even though he felt like he had failed? it just didnt feel like luke to me. i felt more like raeyn had chosen that particular backstory to try to make kyle a more sympathetic villain rather than give a believable and in-character back story for the characters. i understand that luke’s failure ultimately has to lead to the creation of kyle ron in this story line, but that didnt feel like the right failure to me. maybe this is just me being nitpicky but that felt off to me too and i dont know if i can quite pinpoint why.

11. rey was a dumbass fucking bitch in this movie. rey could not be a dumbass fucking bitch to survive as a scavenger who was orphaned at birth on jakku. rey would have had to be smart and not as fucking DUMB as she was in this movie. now im getting heated so i cant articulate this well but she just did so many dumb things that anybody who had to raise themselves would have never done. she would never have delivered herself over to kyle ron like what a dumb fucking idea. who wrote this goddamn movie. fuck u ryeen.

12. why did yoda come back as a force ghost. where is anakins force ghost. he would be so fucking pissed at kyle right now. he would be mad as hell. he would have ended this thing. he would have called kyle out like the shitdickbitch he is and put him in his place. i get that yoda is more like ancient and orginal star wars jedi knowledge shit or whatever and like more of an authority on the jedi but like anakin is off in like force ghost hawaii drinking force ghost martinis while his shitty fucking grandson is being a piece of shit?? nah man anakin would have shut that shit down they better bring him back for ep IX and i expect hayden christensen himself to show up to bitch at kyle about what a fucking dumbass he is.

tbh theres probably more like i know there’s a ton of little things i hated but as scathing as this review is there were things i liked. visually speaking it was a very beautiful movie when we werent getting atrocious close ups of adam drivers ugly ass face. i originally hated but have come to appreciate the darker tone, since it mirrors the mood of TESB in that the rebellion seems dead but obviously isnt bc this is star wars. i liked luke. i dunno. i had a lot of issues with the movie obviously. to be quite honest i cant actually think of anything else i liked atm which is telling.

anyway if anybody actually reads this long ass fucking post feel free to respond with what you hated abt TLJ
