my favorite underrated vocaloid songs once again with commentary. i dont know how underrated things actually are bc i dont interact with the vocaloid community but yknow how it is

the goat. i have never seen anybody talk about this song ever. the mv has so little views and half the streams on spotify are probably me. the songs about an abused child begging to be loved so beware if you search the mv or lyrics up.

i just realized both these songs were by tohru-ch. they make good songs! another underrated classic. the mv is sick if you manage to find it. this producer is a rin master in my opinion. this song is about how bad capitalism is and the vocals are amazing. nandemo nandemo nandemo. the desperation they managed to infuse into rins voice is so impressive and the guitar is impressive. ive been listening to this song since a very young age like ten. why was i listening to this at ten. piano goes crazy as well

i owe this one to the ex mutual who made a playlist for my fanfic and eventually blocked me. thank you for this absolute banger. i forget what the lyrics to this one mean and the mv isnt much its just kinda green stuff. goes exceptionally hard i cant tell whos singing but its still fantastic. i love the guitar that kinda sounds like rubber bands strapped to cardboard. that sounds weird but listen youll see.

i dont think this one is actually underrated im going by no metrics this list is just my opinion. it may not be underrated but it slaps and i played it on loop when i was in seventh grade and playing overwatch. not the best gaming music it just makes you really sad

IN ORDER FROM MOST FAVE TO LEAST FAVES ((OF THE FAVES bc i dont know ALL the vocaloids theres so m a n y)) BASED P MUCH ENTIRELY ON MY FAVE SONGS + THEIR DESIGN AESTHETICS

1. MIKU (( QUEEN absolutely no vocaloid can fully encompass creepy AND cute and P MUCH EVERY GENRE OF MUSIC quite like miku (at least imo!), shes aesthetically perf and creatives can make her voice do p much anything YOU WANT HER TO SING A CUTE POP SONG?? HEAVY METAL SCREAM?? RAP?? POLKA?? JAPANESE?? ENGLISH?? RUSSIAN?? U WANT HER TO SING DESPACITO (pls look it up) HECK YEAH MIKU IS HERE FOR U BC SHE IS QUEEN 👏 AND ‘TWO FACED LOVERS’ IS STILL MY FAVE VOCALOID SONG despite me jumping between other songs and loid faves haha aaa im gonna learn the dance to it one day *shakes fist* ))

NERU (( ’STOP NAGGING ME’ WAS STUCK IN MY HEAD FOR SO L O NG sO SHE DESERVES TO BE ON THIS LIST also i recently found out that shes the “anti troll/flame vocaloid” and was literally created out of spite by a vocaloid fan to tease mean trolls aND THEN THE ARTIST (Smith Hioka) MADE A DEAL W CRYPTON AND SHE BECAME AN OFFICIAL VOCALOID CRIES ))

THIS GOT LONGER THAN I MEANT IT TO GHGHGtbh i got into voca/utaloids really late like literally last year HAHAi didnt really like the autotune-y voices at first but then i heard ECHO for the first time and it really made me wake up and realize just how much work goes into each song and all the art work/animations/edits ETC

ITS LIKE EACH SONG IS AN EXPLOSION OF SO MUCH ARTIST EFFORT AND I RLLY STARTED TO FULLY APPRECIATE THEM!! MUSIC PRODUCERS/TUNERS/WRITERS/ANIMATORS/ILLUSTRATORS AND OFTEN ITS JUST ONE PERSON DOING ALL THAT and then came genuine love for the music! ALSO THE AESTHETICS ARE JUST RLLY GOOD HAHA 

i always loved miku’s design even before i was a fan of her voice! AND THE RIGHT TUNER MAKES A W O R L D OF DIFFERENCE if your first vocaloid song exposure was a badly tuned miku im so sorry 

i feel really lucky that by the time i became part of the fandom there were sO MANY really skilled music producers working on vocaloid songs i rarely encounter a badly tuned song nowadays!

 📼 - i dont listen to v1 banks as often as v2 or any there after, and i dont really dislike or overtly like any of them, but by law i have to say meiko because god will strike me dead if i dont. and i know you didnt ask and this isnt part of the question but i want to use this opportunity to say i like kagamine act 1 vbs the best despite all the flaws, just the tone alone i adore

✏ -im going to answer this from the standpoint of a consumer not a creator of vocaloid content. after the mess that was v5, i think they should wait a long while before releasing vocaloid 6, it just didnt feel like it had a strong start marketing wise. i miss v3 days lol. it doesnt really expand on much in terms of accessibility (basing this on the many accounts of people saying v5 is harder to use than v4, i still use v4.) most of the audience for vocaloid are people who are drawn in by the characters and have little to no experience making music, so i think they should try to focus on making v6 accessible and easy to learn (because vocaloid will always be difficult to master.) since again i dont use it often enough to be qualified to demand anything i think the “default” voicebanks should not be so fucking ugly, also im not talking about the price cause if you bought vocaloid 5…. L

❌ - i already talked about kamui kitano, so id like to talk about anri rune. i liked kikuos demo for that voicebank and its sad it never got realized, even though it did sound sort of generic female v3 vocal voice lol. again, i mostly just like her design as it stands out from more generic vocaloids like the orange one. mirai komachi i just googled that

💬 - spanish! when it comes to more languages i usually go to like the utau community just because they already have such a huge diversity in language. i remember also being very excited about french (alys) before they changed from vocaloid to cevio due to technical complications or whatever i dont recall. i still think a russian vb would be dope i want a vocaloid to be able to pull off a tatu song

🎵 - i said seeU eng before, miku got her chinese vb and the other cryptonloids are sure soon to follow, they all have eng vbs too, luo got a japanese vb. id like to see the vsingers languages expanded upon. i want to use yan he english. also miku really needs a spanish vb cause the spanish speaking producers make better songs than the english speaking producers

🎨 - NATURALLY, i want to say rin, but i think i want a miki figure lol. i dont buy merch often so i sleep most of the time and i also am poor
