A few tips for new Tumblr users wanting to write here

Yo if you're here from Reddit or Twitter or some other site and just wanted to give this a shot you may have seen some blogs that are dedicated to writing headcanons or short fics or even original works for their own OCs and you may be thinking "hey I wanna give that a shot! I like to write!" then I have some tips to make it easier on you and people who see your content.

1. First off, if you're writing a pretty long piece the you should probably put it under a read more, it'll look like this on mobile

and this on desktop

or you can write :readmore: on a line by itself and press enter.

2. Now if you're gonna write for a whole bunch of different fandoms and you wanna make a master list then I suggest making an actual list with the fandoms you write for and then making more lists with the actual content as a you go along because you can only have 100 links in one post (I know that sounds like a lot but as someone who has around 300 Transformers things written trust me you fill up a post quicker than you expect, especially if you take requests from other people). The way I typically do it is like this

The first pic is the MASTER master list that lists everything I write for and when they're underlined like that it means they're links. The second pic is after clicking the G1 link, it's a separate post that has the actual fics and headcanon links. Note the 6/100 in the tags, this is how I keep up with how many things I've added. You can of course just use the numbers options from here

or just number them manually from your keyboard like I'm doing with this post. Adding links has no barring on what else you add to the post so you can add yourself some fancy header or divider pics if you want.

3. Adding links! Now you've successfully linked a post to another post!

4. Tagging! To get your fics and headcanons seen to build an audience you usually wanna tag the stuff correctly. If you're posting a fic about Miles Edgeworth and Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney then you'll tag it with #Ace Attorney, #Miles Edgeworth, and #Phoenix Wright in the tags area. But it's also a good idea to mention if it's a ship or general fic in the tags too. If so then putting ship names and #Miles Edgeworth x Phoenix Wright and #Miles Edgeworth/Phoenix Wright in the tags will help everyone know this is a ship fic. Tagging with characters or fandoms that aren't apart of the fic just clogs the tags for people looking for content of said characters and fandoms so it's very looked down on here and will likely get some of your stuff reported for spam so only use the relevant tags. Also tagging for triggers can be tricky here because of how fucky tumblr is but please don't tag censor tags. Tagging things like #a**** or #a*use or even #abu$e doesn't work here because people who have #abuse blacklisted will be able to see this content because it wasn't tagged properly. Also if you're writing for OCs or reader inserts it's common courtesy to tag those appropriately too. Someone looking for a reader insert may not want to read an OC and vice versa. Also many people filter those out so try to add tags like #x reader, #*fandom name* x reader, and #*character name* x reader for easier filtering. Also people cruise those tags too so it'll help people who fo want to read that content find your stuff!

With Blades 2 coming to an end, I just wanna get it off my chest that I'm really not a fan of how they wrote Nia for a great part of this one, particularly vis-à-vis the way they wrote MC. I know I've been saying some stuff along those lines for ages now, but it hasn't left my mind so now I'm gonna actually get into it.

For starters, I think a lot of the issue with Nia's writing was captured pretty well in the tags of this post, particularly on point 2. Like I've said, Nia unfortunately falls into the category of a Mary Sue in that every "flaw" she's given just serves to elevate her to perfection. Hell, even when corrupted—when a person is supposed to be in their most volatile state—the worst she does is be snarky that first chapter (she is aggressive toward MC at one point before this, but it's neither acknowledged nor repeated later). After that, she is entirely normal, just not as much of a pushover, and while I much preferred shadow!Nia, I do think that this really undermines the whole gravity of corruption and b2's emphasis on shadow-light balance, since shadow!Nia comes off as quite balanced already, especially compared to other corrupted characters we've seen.

But here's the thing, that post that got me thinking is months old, and we have gotten more story since then, and what I have noticed is that Nia does, in fact, have one real flaw in canon, but it's the one flaw she's absolutely not meant to have: Nia in canon can at times come off as self-absorbed. She either makes things about herself or doesn't stop people from doing this, and there are multiple examples of it. There is the instance in Riverbend when MC is taking a moment to finally try to process Kade's capture (which, following their own capture, they never got the chance to process) and Nia derails the conversation and makes it about her own grief and is comforted by MC and Mal. Another example is the moment on Gerhard's ship when she vents about the pressure she's been under and lets MC comfort her without at any point considering that MC might have been under similar pressure.

And don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a character putting themselves first. But when the book doesn't waste a single chance to tell us that Nia's character is the complete opposite and that she is chronically incapable of not being considerate 25/8, it's quite contradictory. I mean, you can even call out Ethan Ramsey, PB's golden boy, on making things about himself at some point in OH, but because, unlike Ethan, Nia is written for you to consider her super sweet and wholesome and perfect, the Blades MC actually contributes to this by performing mental gymnastics to turn something around to be about Nia.

Which brings me to my final point: Blades 2 pushed MC to the side to revolve around Nia, but MC is exactly the person they meant for Nia to be, by virtue of the dissonance between showing and telling. They tell you that Nia is selfless because she always puts everyone else first. Well, I can and did name examples showing the contrary, meanwhile, MC is the one who was been through the most traumatic ordeal and is constantly checking in on everyone else without expecting and without receiving much of the same courtesy in return, even apologizing to Nia because she was "carrying all that weight on her own", never mind that MC always has the weight of the world on their shoulders. They tell you that Nia is the heart of the party, but they both told and showed us that everything fell apart without MC.

Even some of Nia's most defining character traits, MC has in similar measure. Nia sees the best in everyone? MC can be the #1 believer in Aerin's redemption after all the shit he pulled. Nia is trusting to the point of naivete? MC literally trusted Valax while she outright told them at every turn she would turn on them at the first opportunity, and was genuinely hurt by the betrayal. Miss me with MC calling Nia "our better self".

Every trait that they've gone out of their way to tell you Nia has they've shown twofold in MC, which is why it's so exasperating to me that they reduced MC to the conduct through which other characters' (particularly Nia's) stories get told while their own is an afterthought. I am by no means saying that two people can't have similar traits or that two people can't be good people at the same time, but there is something about praising these traits in Nia when, based on these, MC should be held to a similar standard. Instead, they relegated MC (main. character.) to a supporting character in Nia's story, elevating every trait that MC possesses only in Nia while ignoring them in MC to the point that many scenes felt frustrating to play.

Do not follow this blog if you are sensitive to the sensitive topics related to this particular genre. I tag with "content word cw" for the extra wild stuff, but that's about it. adam literally has the highest swear/slur count in the show and he's only in 3 episodes, so be aware of that.

I tend to be private/selective as i get fairly overwhelmed with too much activity. i really get into plots though, and i'll spam the dash with some silly original dick chauvinism from time to time when ive fed my inner gremlins past midnight. That said, I do get easily overwhelmed when I'm following too many people and multi muse blogs in particular can exacerbate this feeling, so if I do not follow back - I might just not be in a good place to atm or I just don't see possible interactions btw our characters. It's nothing personal! ^^

This is a mutuals only interaction blog for my sanity (anons being fine). if i can see plots happening between us, i'll likely follow. but i get overwhelmed easily so please don't take it personally if i don't follow back or follow back right away.

I am not exclusive, but I prioritize my plotted threads and may have some mains/activity based off that as far as my main verse goes. But I will never be fully exclusive and i enjoy exploring different character dynamics. Also multiship is fine, but I am not exclusively here to ship or write suggestive content. My muses have always and will always require plotting and scene chemistry for me to consider writing ship material. In the case I do reblog shippy prompts still feel free to send in ofc! I'll see if I can make it work or not.

If I don't get a follow back within a week or two, if blogs i follow go inactive for up to 6-7 weeks, or if there's just no attempt on either of our ends to connect for an indefinite amount of time - i'll occasionally go through my list and soft block to clean things up. if we ever want to give it a go in the future, the option is there for us to re-follow and resume! i have in the past been made to feel like I'm walking on egg shells in rpcs regarding these matters and id rather avoid it here...im just here to chill, write and leave weird surprises in dms.

I don't like the feeling of being 'collected' so...if you are interacting with multiple of my muses, I ask you have a different dynamic for mine than them. This is just an act of courtesy I also extend to my rp partners. I interact more with folks that have a special relationship with my muse, so it's needed to deep dive into more interesting topics for me. I also do not usually interact w/ other of the same muse cuz I feel like I 'absorb' how others play him and I want to keep my version separated from that. I might give it a shot some times though depending on how it's presented.

I know that Adam is a bad guy. He's insufferable and can push buttons- but I am not him and I dislike constantly feeling like I'm being barraged for his actions, especially since I consider him to be a heavily layered character that should not be shoe horned into a standard 'ok irredeemable and never allowed nice things' box. So- if you honestly hate this character please don't interact. I am here for exploring taboo topics and ways that a flawed character can make others think he's justified, betray them, make people feel COMPLICATED things... I also love torturing my muse and taking the piss out of him, so I don't need people moving in and tying to constantly put him down/ruin his current plots by being god modey or not at least asking me how we should proceed in a power dynamic, or relationships cuz you don't ship what I ship, or find my interactions with other characters 'toxic' and 'not allowed'...let me explore and enjoy what I like on my blog within reason and do talk with me on dms if you don't like how things are going with our muses and you wanna explore other routes. I love to plot and I am very reasonable.

do you have any advice for a new writer trying to post on ao3 I want my stories to be noticed (also thanks for not leaving -- so many writers are gone now)

*Looks at my recent hits counts* I'm not sure I'm the best reference for this 😅

I think there are two aspects to getting engagement on fan works:

1: There is the actual work you put into posting your fics. This includes tags, cross posting, and self promotion.

Tags: Make sure you are tagging what is relevant to your fic. AO3 doesn't run on an algorithm, so the way people find your fics is primarily through searches. There is an excellent post on tumblr somewhere that discusses how to accurately tag your work, and I highly suggest starting there! (Post here) Also when tagging, I would suggest considering what YOU would search if you were looking for a fic like this. Quite often, I've found that the tag I was looking for isn't on AO3 yet. Don't be afraid to type in the specific trope or AU you are writing. Look at other tags to get a feel for the structure of the tag, but other than that, have fun.

Also, it may seem counterintuitive, but don't over-tag, by which I mean tagging a bunch of tropes or characters or ships that aren't in your story. It's a fast way to have people disregard your fic instantly, or even mute your name on AO3. Especially in smaller fandoms, I totally get the desire to tag a bigger ship, but it just makes more trouble for you in the long run.

Similarly, on tumblr, keep tags tight. I tend to only tag ship, character (name and superhero name), show/ movie, franchise, and the challenge I'm answering if I am. I know other people tag the actors of the characters. I don't because I know when I go into an actor's tag, I don't want to see fic (of their characters or them either) but that's entirely up to you. But don't tag characters or shows etc that have nothing to do with your fic. This is just courtesy in fandom spaces.

Cross-posting: I admit, I can be kind of bad about cross-posting, but I do find that it helps drive engagement when I do buckle down and get it done. Cross-posting is publishing or promoting a fic on multiple platforms. For instance, I use AO3 AND tumblr. On tumblr fic posts,I link to the AO3 (if there is one, I'm pretty bad about publishing shorter things on here only) And when I publish the fic on AO3, I'm supposed to be linking back to my tumblr. This helps more people see your fic and it grows your community when people are able to follow you on various platforms and spread your fic and kudos around. If you have fan accounts elsewhere and you're comfortable with it, feel free to promote there as well. Also check any discord or group servers you may be on for rules about promoting or channels meant exactly for that.

Self-promoting: this is pretty similar to the above. Because AO3 doesn't have an algorithm, it's kind of up to you to keep interest alive in your fics, especially if you want eyes on it for the first several days afterwards. I know it feels embarrassing to reblog your own fic posts all the time, but it's impossible to tell who may have seen or not seen that you posted a new fic. I don't have any set times for this, personally. I try to catch what I consider active times on tumblr, but that's entirely subjective. It's just trial and error, really. Secondly, don't be embarrassed to recommend your own fics (I'm kind of bad at this) If someone is looking for recs on a specific trope or AU and you know you have just the fic, tell them! Unfortunately, you have to be your own biggest cheerleader when it comes to your own art because no one knows and loves it as much as you do. It feels awkward and I know I get embarrassed if people aren't reccing my fics on their own, but you really are your biggest advocate. Fandom is kind of a popularity contest sometimes 🤷‍♀️ Hype your own self up

2: Now that the technical stuff is done, let's move on to the community aspect of fic posting. (This is not really what you asked for, but i think it's more important sometimes than the actual tags and AO3 procedures) Curating a community and making friends is HUGE as far as readership goes. Especially in smaller fandoms (I assume this is about Sambucky fics/fandom) community is everything. Being a name people recognize and trust is important to regular readership.

Building community: don't be afraid to interact with other writers on this platform or others! The Sambucky fandom has this delightful habit of playfully creating headcanons and ficlets based off of text posts. The Daily Sambucky Fluff Diary project is so much fun and so interactive. I have honestly never been in such a fun, supportive group as the sambucky writers on tumblr. I highly suggest playing in this sandbox and getting familiar with other writers. We hype each other up all the time.

Understanding the rules of play: this is kind of an addendum, but the sambucky fandom is rightfully protective over Sam and his portrayal in fics, as well as Bucky. Reading fics, community interaction posts, and even the rules laid out in various challenges (like the bingos that are hosted at various times) will really help you get a sense of how to respectfully tell stories with Sam and Bucky without being racist, ableist, or disregarding to these characters. Quite often Sam (and Bucky, and especially Sambucky) is only there to prop up other characters. This is something the fandom will (again, rightfully) push back on and avoid. I highly suggest looking at the rules that are laid out in the Sambucky Library's bingo rounds to get an idea of the sandbox rules.

Engagement: the sambucky fandom is small, so we don't really have big organized events like Bangs or Reverse Bangs. However, we do have lots of fun, smaller challenges, namely the bingos! There is also Samtember, the Anniversary Challenge (I don't think that's what we called it) and various prompt week challenges, including an AU week (and we like birthdays here). I highly suggest following @ sambuckylibrary to keep apprised of challenges and prompts. Filling out these prompts when you can and want is a great way to break into the fandom and get engagement with your fics. They are all very low stakes and the reward is new fics, friends, and interaction!

I would also suggest joining a discord server, if that is something you're interested in. (I personally am not in any, but that's because I don't like making new accounts on things, not because I don't want to be part of the fun) This is a great place to interact with other fans, promote your fics, get new recs, and generally reap the fun of fandom in a more condensed space, rather than the entirety of AO3 or tumblr.

One last thing to keep in mind: you've already pointed out that fan fic/art/engagement is decreased in our fandom. This will be reflected in your hits/kudos/comments, especially if you're coming from a bigger fandom. Don't let this discourage you. In fact, I really suggest not looking at stats as much as possible. The wealth of engagement in this fandom will be seen in your relationships and interactions with other fans, not in skyrocketing numbers. Allegedly, Cap4 and Thunderbolts come out in 2025 and our guys look to have an episode in the next season of What-If, but without new content, interest will lag and numerical engagement with it. Just keep this in mind as you begin/ continue your journey into the fandom.

Last movie: supporting the Mercy Street alums (& Hallmark is really great to handsew to because I can zone out for an hour while fussing with gathers), and caught Notes of Autumn.

Currently watching: I'm on episode 61 of 1245 of Dark Shadows and losing my mind. The vampire hasn't even shown up yet. (you all should experience this soap yourself. it's free on tubi. do it.)

Other stuff I watched this year: Hmm. The English, courtesy of @sagiow; technically I watched 1899 last year but I've been rewatching it a truly unhinged amount; Dark, which I cannot recommend highly enough to everyone for any reason; the new season of Shadow and Bone although I barely remember anything that happened; a lot of reruns of Murder, She Wrote.

Shows I dropped this year: In order for me to drop a show, I'd actually have to start watching something new that wasn't immediately canceled. That said, I was watching All Creatures Great and Small with a friend but we're on indefinite hiatus because she's gotten swamped with other things.

Currently reading: Give Me A Fast Ship (thank you @mercurygray!), and a fairly antiquarian history of [town redacted], [state redacted] because whoops I fell down a rabbithole of "the history of this area as described in this hiking map/brochure is wrong and I know it's wrong but I don't know enough about the area to say what's right" and unfortunately I have a friend from that town who grabbed said antiquarian book from that town library for me. Ask me about bog iron, I guess.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Of course! As I am more of a reader than a writer, I try to comment as much as I can, and I love it when an author answers, so when I do put on the writer hat, I try to interact with the people kind enough to read my stuff. It's basic courtesy.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Definitely Ignorance Is Bliss. It's focused on the relationship between Tybalt and Mercutio and it's canon compliant, so you know how that ends. The next Tycutio I write is either a Modern AU or a Canon Divergence/Everybody Lives fix-it, because my boys deserve some love and happiness.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

That will be Golden Light On The Roofs! It's a post-canon fic, taking things up from where the movie ends, and it's maybe the fluffiest thing I've written.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nah. I barely get love, where would I get the hate? XD

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Nope! I don't mind reading it, but I am way too ace to actually write it. I'm not part of the Aces Who Write Filthy Smut Club.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Oh, oooh, okay, so, I have not published any crossover, but it's something that I truly want to do! I have an entire idea for this. I am writing a Torchwood/Doctor Who fic that fixes Ianto's death (as one does), and the central crux of it is that Jack's corral is actually a Tardis that ends up imprinting on Ianto and becomes a huge spaceport that's connected to all of time and space and the multiverse, and in that spaceport, every type of encounter is possible. It's an endless playground that allows me to make various characters meet, and I have a lot of ideas. I just need to finish the main fic before getting on with the crossovers. Some day.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

...To my knowledge, no.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I translate my own work! The next fic I'd like to post soon is a Merlin fic that I wrote first in French. I'm currently rewriting it first in French and then I'll translate it to English, and I'll post both versions. So that people who read French can also see my style in my own native language. That beng said, I wouldn't mind having my fics translated in other languages.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

A fic, no, but my siblings and I are co-writing an original novel together.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

Hard to say. My oldest ship, that I'm aware of, is Tycutio (Tybalt and Mercutio, R&J). My main one these days is Merthur (Merlin x Arthur). Honestly I'm not too attached to either ships or fandoms, they come and go, and it all depends on my mood or what hyperfixation I'm stuck on at the time.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I don't think I have something that could be considered a WIP that I wouldn't finish. I have fragments of text that could be added to a bigger work, or not, but all the actual WIPs I have, meaning, works with a clear beginning and a general direction, I will finish them. Maybe not now, maybe not next year, but at some point, I will. I don't like rushing.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I have been told that I have a strong style, as in, syntax and use of language, and then descriptions and general atmosphere. The kind of works of mine that people have read and commented most are actually not my fictions, but my essays and thesis, mostly in French and English and also a few in Spanish, and professors and teachers have always praised me for my prose. Well, one teacher a long time ago said that was too much purple prose, but that's one out of dozens of teachers and profs, so who cares.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I get too much into depicting the atmosphere, the descriptions, the characters' emotions and thoughts, and I get stuck on progressing the plot or making them interact. That's the thing that makes me write so slowly, actually, the fact that I get stuck on how to advance the plot.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

See above. I already write in several languages, but whatever the language, dialogues don't come easy to me. Even in French! When I know the character very well, it's easier, like Tybalt, Mercutio or Merlin, but when it's a new character or one I'm not too attached to, its harder. One dialogue that was surprisingly easy to write outside of my favs listed above, was the banter between Simran and Raj (the DDLJ fics), because I have watched DDLJ countless times and it's one of my most favourite movies ever, so even though I don't speak Hindi, I was inspired.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

That'll be Romeo and Juliet! Back when I was a teen (around 12-13yo), I wanted to write a rewriting of the play in prose, starting during the main 6' childhoods (Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Tybalt, Rosaline, Benvolio), because I always thought "They're the main heirs or children of the major families of the city, they're nobles and the same age. They definitely knew each other before the play started. The play states that the grudge between the families has started anew in recent years, meaning that before, there was relative peace, so it wouldn't be too outlandish to think that these kids actually grew up and were educated together, so from that point, it changes the events of the play, right?". And so I started writing an entire plan, chapter by chapter, different parts, "1 - Childhood in Verona", "2 - Exile in Rome/Mantua/Florence", "3 - Back to Verona", etc, and I started researching, reading biographies of Shakespeare, the origins of the story, life in Verona in the 12th century... I never finished it, and it stayed as a plan, but it's one of the projects that I definitely want to finish.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Well, in light of above, and if we're only talking about the fics I have posted... Ignorance Is Bliss. I love that one, I'm really proud of it. And it makes me really happy whenever I get a kudo or a comment!

I write a lot of dark fic and content for dark ships.

I can honestly deal with the haters, most of the time, but what I can't stand I when someone decides they like me before encountering my darker works and acting like I betrayed or deceived them. It's stressful, but writing dark works is more important to me than being left alone so...

The issue is that a lot of people who make these parasocial drama scenes find me through my gen works, my fluff and my [insert popular "pure" ship here] works. None of their whining makes me stop making dark works, but it does give me an aversion to all that more lighthearted stuff. It's hard to want to create content for ship you KNOW is followed by ignorant, entitled, rude people. I don't even READ fics for these ships or genres unless I know the writer's work through their other stuff (a courtesy the haters should consider).

The worst thing is, a lot of popular ship mainshippers are so used to thinking that their ship is automatically unproblematic and "pure" and "objectively good" that they don't bother to tag triggers on their own works. I honestly don't think they can see how something they love could possibly have bad aspects. And all their untagged ship art! Not everyone likes your ship and some people are even repulsed by romance so tag the damn ship, gah!

sorry, I'm just, this has been building up for a while and I'm just... So tired. I think I need to get involved in smaller fandoms again because this is exhausting

Nah, x reader shit is a literal fucking inescapable plague and it's so fucking infuriating, I can't lie

Like, I truly have no issue with x reader stuff in general. Like the actual fics and art, of course. I have no interest in it, but other people like making and reading it, so good for them! Like, glad you're having fun

The broad community around it is fucking insufferable though and they make me kinda fucking hate anything associated with x reader stuff in general, to the point that I literally block anyone who posts/reblogs it on sight.

They are so fucking inconsiderate of everyone other than themselves in fandom spaces and ignore so many of the social niceties pretty much all other communities use to make fandom a habitable space for everyone en masse. The way they flood and abuse tagging systems is so fucking infuriating. Like, using the jjk fandom as an example (as its x reader community is one of the worst I've seen in this regard, though kny isn't much better), you shouldn't be fucking tagging your x reader smut shots with every goddamn character in the series. You want to write something of getting dicked down by Gojo? Sure, put it in the general jjk tag as well as Gojo's tag. That's valid and fair. Why tf are you tagging Maki? Or Yuuji? Or literally every other character in the series? Why are you tagging unrelated ships? It's so unnecessary and rude and self centered.

I also hate that the vast majority of them won't tag their stuff with a general x reader tag that's easy to blacklist. If I want to avoid their posts in totality, I'd have to blacklist "gojo x reader" "satoru gojo x reader" "gojo x fem reader" "gojo x gender neutral reader" "gojo x you" etc etc you get the point.... but for every fucking character in the series. Why not just add literally one general "x reader" tag that would mean people like me could easily avoid your stuff and we can both blissfully enjoy our lives? Tagging isn't just for getting exposure, it's for allowing people to avoid your work as well. That's more than half the courtesy of it

They also have a tendency to not put their graphic, explicit porn under read mores, which is also just basic decency. Also especially dumb when you put MDNI on it and then... just post it openly without even a single click to keep it off the screen. Great job! Not that MDNI always keeps minors out (obviously) but it's a useless shiny sticker when you then post the porn just out in the fucking open, not even offering one fucking click for people to consent to seeing it

Currently consuming: Baldur's Gate 3, it has taken over my life in the best way possible. I have 2 completed playthroughs now with a little under 300 hours so far, which would be higher if I didn't work full time T-T

Currently craving: Chinese food from a restaurant local to my hometown, they make my favorite dish differently than any other Chinese restaurant I've eaten at and it drives me nuts I can't find an alternative T-T when I visited my hometown for a month in October I think I ordered food there at least 10 times

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Herald of Winter - ROTG crack fic about Mother Nature not allowing Jack (the fall seasonal) to join the guardians. The Perfect Excuse - Mulan AU where when Shang tells her to go home, she does. There are...consequences. The Moon's Gift - ROTG angst fic where Jack view's his guardianship as a boon because now he can die. Defender - BBC Merlin fic where Merlin steps in to protect other servants and Arthur sees Merlin treating the resulting injuries. The Big Three In The Life Of Jack Frost - ROTG Jack Frost interacting with Mother Nature, Old Man Winter, and Peter Pan, setting up a series about how Jack is a seasonal experiment between Gaia and MiM to replace Old Man Winter.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to! Comments make me happy, why not continue the joy chain? I want readers to know I appreciate them.

What fic has the angstiest ending? Uhhhh. My most common additional tag is Angst. But let's go with Vigil which has Merlin staying in his cell, waiting for Arthur to free him. Arthur keeps waiting for Merlin to bust out with magic. And then it ends with the Druids sacking Camelot and this really raw line:

Arthur burned with the ashes of his father and best friend scattered at his feet.

What fic has the happiest ending? Uhh. Maybe Perfect Excuse? Things are...corrected there. Grocery List Goals has an expected happy ending - Vanya's gotta get kidnapped first though. Did You Waste It? ends with the establishment of a found family for the Honor Without Thieves crowd!

Do you write crossovers? Previously answered.

Have you received hate on AO3? Eh. I've 100% had people drop into my comments that they don't agree with what I've written (they disagree with a ship, don't think something is logical) that I would call rude but not outright hate.

Do you write smut? Occasionally. Most recent was a post-S4 reunion between Yami and Yugi. It's over a year old, I don't do it often. I am working on a smutting sequel.

Have you had a fic get stolen? If I have, I don't know.

Have you had a fic get translated? If I have, I don't know.

Have you co-written a fic? No.

What's your fave ship? Cannot answer. There's so many....

What's a WIP you want to finish but never will? I'm so, so scared Veritas is the answer. I know a lot of people want that updated. I probably will also not finish ...And Then Came The Reaper. Sorry Jack, you will forever host the embodiment of death.

What are your writing strengths? Previously answered

What are your writing weaknesses? I'm often too subtle - I think I'm leaving clues for people, but I'm not. How many of you noticed the seeds I planted in Puzzlebox that Yami's soul room....isn't. Or in Hell's Secret that Crowley used to be Lucifer until I spelled it out? Sometimes I want to surprise people and reveal things at the right time, but I know I've had conversations with friends over my original stuff where they completely missed something that would have explained a part of the story.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages on AO3? Do it if it's natural for the character.

What's the first fandom you wrote for? Technically I think Into the Land of the Unicorns. But that you can find on A03 - D. Gray Man.
