Sukuna’s lips are curled into a sneer as he stares down at the shivering gaggle of priests kneeling at his feet. He towers over them, his shadow outstretched like an ominous hand, crimson eyes hard and merciless as he peels away the veneer of their presence to sink his teeth into their motivations.
Fear. These witless worms are motivated by fear, naught else. He half expects one of them to piss themselves any moment.
Sukuna has lived a life of solitude from birth, and one thing solitude has taught him is that his own strength is what is reliable. Friendships, companions, love, all of those are useless tethers beneath his scope of interest and control. No one invites him to things, because his lethal reputation has impressed upon them that he does not care. The people of Hida fear his power, and so they grovel to curry favor in hopes of gaining his protection. He is a sorcerer, but to them he is a god.
Hapless lichen and unmarked graves are testament of his power. A sea of blood for him to drink from endlessly. Meat to be torn and swallowed, sweet and succulent and limitless in its variety.
What care has he for petty festivals and sniveling proselytizing? He cannot make their crops grow nor their cattle healthy. He does not control those forces of nature, but these provincial types are superstitious about jujutsu.
And there are no other sorcerers who can lay claim to the feats he has accomplished.
His sneer becomes a leering grin.
“I accept your invitation,” he says in an even voice, deep and resonant in the temple he has claimed as home for most of his adult life. He watches with disdain as he sees the priests breathe collective sighs of relief.
“We thank his lordship for his consideration,” the head priest says, forehead pressed on the cool stone of the floor. Sukuna says nothing in response. He merely waits.
“I’m sure you do,” he says laconically after a stretch of fearful silence. “Get out.”
Thus are the priests dismissed, their limbs intact, and their numbers the same as when they arrived. They consider this a blessing in and of itself, scurrying out of the shrine like startled insects. Sukuna watches them go, his smirk turning to a pensive frown.
“Mercy, my lord?” Uraume’s cool voice is amused. Sukuna huffs out a breath.
“There is no joy in killing frightened peasants. Aside, there will be blood aplenty at this harvest festival of theirs. Blood is the only thing gods demand in tribute, after all.”
And Sukuna is fair starved for sacrifice.
The weeks leading up to the festival are hectic. With the Five Empty Generals and the Sun, Moon, and Star Squads eliminated, the capital, and by extension Hida, is thrown into chaos. Bandits roam the surrounding areas, waylaying travelers and refugees alike. Temples are packed to capacity to give alms to the starving and destitute. Misery permeates the air as the storm of Sukuna’s fury is felt throughout Heaven and Earth.
No one opposes him in the wake of this war, and he consolidates his power, taking tribute and extracting iron clad binding vows to secure and fortify his position.
But by the gods he can’t bring himself to care about any of it. It feels pointless to him. It nettles at his nerves, these petty political squabbles between clans of sorcerers who could not stand against him in the end. The Sugawara clan is especially in disarray, having lost their best sorcerers to Sukuna’s lethal domain.
Would that he could bring himself care, though. It’s as if the victory that should have been sweetest to savor has turned to stale ash in his mouth, and no amount of blood drinking can curb it.
Something is irritating his spirit, and he’s not sure what.
Uraume fields requests both in the form of face-to-face audiences with supplicants and distraught nobles desperate to hold onto their power; Uraume also fields written requests. Sukuna has so far been offered vast swathes of rice paddies, fields, and even cattle. Where he once had to hunt and scrape in the wilds for his food, now he has more than enough in his stores to throw feasts. But he does not do this. Anyone who would be invited to attend would only do so out of fear of how he’d respond should they refuse. Empty fear does little to sweeten his appetite. He has missed the scent and taste of true terror between his teeth.
It’s frustrating. So, he attends this stupid harvest festival as a guest of the highest honor: the God of Hida. Wielder of Storm and Flame. All manner of ostentatious titles he would never choose for himself, but he bears the weight of them all the same. Even the title, Ryōmen Sukuna, is not a name he chose, but it certainly suits him. It evolved from his deeds. He had been born a cursed and nameless wretch to a mother whose face was not even a blur in his memory. All he knows is the turning point of cognizance in his life, and the bloody present.
He sits amongst them, an impassive deity, inscrutable as the heavens that cursed him. Something stirs in his chest, makes his heart tighten uncomfortably. Will alone quells it, buries it too deep to be excavated without considerable aid, or his will. That unnamed feeling—that yearning—will be smothered in the salted earth of his heart like everything else.
The festival itself is lavish, a surprise for such uncertain times, but Sukuna sees these people—these insects—seeking joy when it would be easier to succumb to the hand fate has dealt them: misery and death; their pointless existence snuffed out and forgotten. Sukuna allows himself a smile at the thought. Yes, how fitting.
He sips his plum wine, smokes his kiseru, and stares at the nameless faces and listens to the empty and pointless chatter. His heart beats sluggishly as the contents of his kiseru finally take hold, dulling the sharpened edges of agitation flaying his nerves.
There’s a commotion at the entrance to the headman’s hall. Affronted gasps, mocking laughter. Sukuna knows that voice, and suddenly he reaches for the ornate lacquered box at his side, refills his kiseru, and takes a long, slow drag of it.
She’s naked. She’s always fucking naked. Sukuna doesn’t know or care, but she’s coming at him, her eyes shining with something he thinks is madness, and suddenly the distance is closed, and he feels strong arms go around him, gets a deep inhale of her scent: rosewater and her natural musk. Pleasant, but her arms around him, her fingers threading through his hair, her grating voice droning on and on about loneliness and love and other such drivel—the sharp edges of his nerves lash out before he realizes it.
Yorozu tumbles onto the floor, her open haori stained with her own blood, a slash mark across her chest, breasts stained in a curtain of crimson spilling from a wound that may as well have been made with a true blade. Sukuna should find this beautiful, but he doesn’t care. He’s just well and truly agitated, now.
There’s a fearful silence in the room as Yorozu climbs to her knees, swaying from the blood loss. Her face is a frightening rictus of ecstasy, as if she is having a religious experience.
“Ah, Sukuna!” She sighs in deep satisfaction. “You are the most magnificent thing! An honor to be struck down by your hands. I will spend the rest of our lives making sure you never know loneliness again, beloved.”
Sukuna frowns, the bridge of his nose wrinkling. Beside him, he feels the chill of Uraume’s cursed energy, like prickling fingers of winter in the form of their aura alone.
“If you’ve any decorum,” Uraume says in a warning tone, “you will attire yourself in a manner befitting the occasion and not embarrass my lord with your provincial ignorance.”
Yorozu should be angry, but when one is a powerful sorcerer, words of snarling lapdogs mean precious little. She gives Uraume as maddening smile.
“Oh, but have you not heard? I too decimated the Sun, Moon, and Stars Squad and have been accorded a place of honor amongst the Fujiwara for this festival. What role do you play here, Uraume? I am to be seated at Lord Sukuna’s right hand, as is my right!”
     Sukuna snorts derisively.
“You talk too much,” he says in an exasperated tone. “Be seated and be silent.”
Surprisingly, Yorozu complies, arranging herself like some sort of creature at his side, giving Uraume a simpering smirk while they roll their eyes in obvious disdain and disgust. Sukuna is just thankful the woman is heeding his words and remaining blessedly silent. He focuses his thoughts again.
The entertainment for the evening is interesting. There is the traditional and ritualistic, which he watches and listens to with half an ear. He feels wholly apart from the festivities, as if he is some sort of interloper and not an honored guest. And all around him is the stench of nervous fear. Fear that he might do something unimaginably horrific should any displease him. He does nothing to dissuade them, but still…all this sweating and kowtowing is unnecessary and grates his nerves.
It’s not until he sees the performers arranging an interesting set of drums he’s never seen before that he sets his annoyance aside in favor of his curiosity. The players have also changed. Arrayed in strange costumes of grass skirts and anklets with bells. Their skin is as dark as rich, fresh-turned earth; the men have strong and stern miens; but Sukuna detects something submissive about them. They look to one of the other performers.
Sukuna’s gaze follows theirs as the lead dancer emerges. There’s a thump in his ears like a heartbeat. Her cursed energy blazes around her in a steady flame, moving with a fluidity Sukuna has seen only in himself.
     Who is she?
Sukuna’s gaze falls like a weight on her and he suppresses a smirk when he sees her shift her body weight onto the balls of her feet. There’s a tinkling of bells from the thick ankle bracelets she wears, but Sukuna knows a tense posture when he sees it. She speaks to the drummers in a tongue he doesn’t recognize, hands animated in giving direction. Sukuna keeps his eyes on her. Skin like burnished umber from what he can see, her breasts high and proud in a bra made complete of cowrie shells. He can also make out the tattoo on her back, a symbol he doesn’t recognize. Is she a criminal of some kind as well? There’s a crown of cowrie shells on her head, affixed to soft buckskin straps that obscure her face from him, but he can make out her lips.
The dancer grows more interesting by the moment from her appearance alone, her eyes dark and sparkling, her braids falling around her in a sea of black and gold, framing her cowrie-obscured face that he catches glimpses of when she turns: high cheekbones, and sculpted soft nose, and lips shaped like a perfect bow. When she smiles, which is frequently, Sukuna marvels at the perfect whiteness of her teeth, the way her smile seems a power all on its own. There is something inside of her, something yet to be tapped, and he wonders.
     He waits.
A hush falls over the entire crowd, faces illuminated by the massive bonfire burning in the center of it all.
Then, the dancer opens her mouth and begins to sing. Sukuna’s brows go up at the power of her voice, a clear trailing of notes and melody in a tongue he doesn’t recognize but somehow the tone of her song reaches him. He understands her meaning, sees it written in her smile as those foreign words slip from her mouth like a lure. She commands the music with skill, the primordial drumbeats whispering to thread with the melody she sings. Sukuna can feel the power in her, that thing inside her that he can’t quite place trembling like a chrysalis on the verge of opening.
When she begins to dance, Sukuna understands. By his side, Yorozu follows his gaze, notes how he never takes any of his eyes off of the girl. Her lip curls in open disdain and disgust.
The dance becomes faster, the drums carrying the dancer into a frenzy that is no wilder and more beautiful than a summer storm. Sukuna can see a sheen of sweat on the girl’s back, right between her undulating shoulder blades. She commands her small stage with consummate skill, executing complicated footwork, the bells around her ankles creating a counter rhythm to the drumbeat whipping everyone into an excited and breathless frenzy. Her cowrie shell crown’s straps are flung about her head like a halo when she executes hairpin turns on the balls of her bare feet, rapid and surefooted, affording the crowd a glimpse of the sculpted face beneath. Her feet, stained crimson with henna, tap out a counterrhythm to the drums in one sequence, creating a synergy the likes of which Sukuna himself has never seen nor heard. The drummers are not sorcerers, but there’s something in their playing that bolsters the dancer. The flames climb higher and higher, and Sukuna suddenly finds himself breathing with her. Inhale. Exhale. Controlled diaphragm as she chants and sings louder, not even sounding the least bit winded.
The crowd feels it too. They clap; they stamp their feet.
Sukuna can feel the chrysalis inside of her vibrating. Her soul is vibrating. The fire crackles and seems to dance higher and brighter. The drums are in his blood, pumping his heart, making his pulse race with the same breathless anticipation he gets just before a fight.
“Exquisite,” Sukuna says breathlessly to himself. Yorozu’s brow knits in consternation as she gazes up at him sharply. He’s still watching the dancer. Worse yet, his lower hand resting on the floor beside him is tapping in time to the rhythm. She’s sure he would hum along if he knew the damn melody of the barbaric chanting and yowling the girl is doing.
The smell of spring and bounty permeates the air as the music swells, and the girl’s feet move faster in more complicated patterns, a test of endurance, an expression of strength. Sweat slicks her dark, umber skin. Sukuna sees the softness of her body, the undulation of her waist and hips, the way every curve moves with its own fluid rhythm and knows she will taste so tender and succulent between his teeth. The salt of her sweat makes him salivate a little at the thought.
But also, she is gifted with immense power. He can feel it. A latent potential as yet untapped, struggling to be born. All it needed was the right push and it would be free, and she would be formidable. It would be a waste to consume her for the fleeting pleasure of tasting her. Sukuna knows a rare delicacy when he sees one.
No, he would have to do something else. He would need to find a way to savor her.
Several times she dances near him, and he tenses, but there is something reverent in the way she looks at him through the curtain of cowrie shells from her crown; the way she smiles at him as if she is inviting him to join her; the way she always seems to be in supplication when she addresses him with the movements of her body. A bow, a flourishing gesture of the hands to highlight the enormity of him, little bits of acknowledgement that she knows him to be the sovereign presence here; the mystery of her being obscured when she turns away from him with fluid grace, and he wants to reach out and seize her, turn her back, and look into her face in full. There’s something sensual about her method of dancing, which he deduces to be a harvest tribute.
     He likes that.
The music swells and blooms, and her soul blooms with it as she kneels in perfect reverence before him, sitting on her heels, hands pressed delicately to the floor, her forehead on the ground. Her bells and shells are silent. She doesn’t even shiver in his presence. Sukuna looks down at her, fascinating by the rhythm of her slow and deep breaths of exertions. This close, he gets a good look at the tattoo limned in her dark skin. The symbol at her nape interests him, and he almost reaches out to touch it.
“Hm,” he says thoughtfully. Yorozu sucks her teeth in irritation. “You are a foreigner. What is your name, girl?”
     The dancer doesn’t move.
“Do I have your permission to rise, my lord?” Her Japanese is accented, and she speaks slowly, but Sukuna understands.
“You do,” he says, curiosity making him unusually tolerant this evening. The girl rises into a seated kneel, her eyes still respectfully downcast behind the curtain of cowrie shells, full lips parted. Sukuna wants to tear the crown from her head and see her face, but something about it is…hm.
“My name is Šetû Asiri,” she says, her voice measured through steady breaths. “Though in your culture I suppose Asiri Šetû would be the appropriate introduction.”
Sukuna tilts his head. “Take off your headdress.” He orders. Asiri stiffens briefly, momentarily taken aback by the bluntness of his command. Behind her, her drummers are a knot of tension and anxiety. Sukuna’s reputation is fearsome, and no doubt whatever caravans brought them here from their lands leagues and leagues away have been rife with myths about his whims.
Asiri’s hands go to the cowrie shell crown, and slowly she pulls it from her head, braids tumbling free, her face bared in full. She keeps her eyes downcast, black lashes cresting on her high cheekbones. Her expression is neutral.
And Sukuna cannot smell her terror or fear. Either she does not know him for what and who he is, or she does not care…or she’s a fool.
Alternately, she can be as mad as Yorozu, but he highly doubts she is. He does not see it in the lines of her body, soft and sculpted by years of dance.
“Look at me,” he says. There’s another tense silence following those words. Asiri breathes in and lifts her face and gaze to meet his. Eyes darker than forest pools past midnight, glimmering like polished obsidian. Sukuna sees the inscrutable void of the moonless and starless nights in her eyes. Eclipse eyes. Asiri holds his gaze steadily. Sukuna’s lower eyes flit to her neck, collared by a cowrie shell choker with pretty silver coins, and he watches as two beads of sweat roll down, pooling in the hollow of her clavicle before rolling down the plush curve of her breasts. He licks his lips before he realizes it.
“Did my performance please you?” She asks steadily. Sukuna smirks but doesn’t answer. It is answer enough.
“Where are you from?” He asks. Asiri hesitates.
“Across the sea,” she says quietly. “Beyond the Silk Road. I would need a map of the world to show it to you.”
Sukuna narrows his eyes, makes a pensive hum. Asiri remains kneeling, and the assembled crowd holds its collective breath. Sukuna steps down from the dais, onto the soft moss she’s conjured around herself with her dancing. The heat of the bonfire illuminates her skin, and his nostrils flare as he breathes deep. Her sweat is sweet, but he smells something else…a fragrance heady and warm, like night-blooming jasmine.
     Mm.
“You may go,” he says. “You and your troupe may enjoy the festivities…with my blessing.”
Asiri allows herself a small smile, pressing herself into an obeisant kneel, forehead to the floor. The shells that adorn her body click prettily.
     Behind Sukuna, Yorozu seethes.
“Thank you, my lord,” Asiri breathes. She waits for him to be seated and rises from her kneel. Sukuna watches her return to her troupe, the musicians murmuring in that strange tongue, whispering and shooting nervous glances in his direction. He should kill them, but they are foreigners, and he foregoes his usual punishments. It will not do to profane these rituals with blood. Even he will not deign to be so greedy and blasphemous this night.

“Did you see the size of him?” Ajani’s voice is rife with shock and not a little horror. “What manner of creature is he that they would worship him as a god?”
Šetû smiles from behind her changing screen as her cousin continues to go on and on about the cultures and customs of the people, they find themselves performing for. It has been a long and arduous journey for their little family, but Šetû knows this place is where they can truly make a life for themselves.
Away from the horrors plaguing their homeland. The horrors that took everything from them but the talent in their skulls.
“I don’t know,” she says. “I thought he was kind of handsome. And he’s clearly a powerful man!”
Ajani sucks his teeth in disgust. “You are too kind, Haji,” he says. “Remember what those priests said? He eats people.”
Šetû shrugs into her abaya, a silky shift of oceanic blue, the collar and edges of the wide sleeves stiff with golden thread embroidery. She keeps on her dancing bells and places the cowrie shell crown reverently in her trunk. Then, she surveys herself in the shined pane of a beaten mirror, marveling at her reflection.
“I’m sure those were just the frightened exaggerations of peasants,” Šetû says as she slips into a pair tabi and geta, humble gifts from the leaders of the village. She had been surprised at the taboo of displaying one’s naked feet in public. The four-armed man had been barefoot, even outside. Perhaps these customs only apply to their living gods.
She steps from behind the changing screen, heaving a sigh.
Their troupe, Na Waje, consists of her, her two brothers, Amadou and Yusuf, and two of her cousins, Ajani and Ajamu. For the last few years, it has been only them since their grandmother and uncle passed. Šetû cannot count how many foreign lands she has traveled across in the years since they packed their entire lives in their painted wagon filled with their instruments, clothing, and supplies, and their sturdy Mongolian steed to pull it, a gift of the Khan for their rousing performance under their endless sky. It has been hard going, but Šetû will not trade it for anything.
Still, having stone walls and a proper bed would not go amiss.
Šetû makes her way outside of their tent, which they set up on the outskirts of the village near their wagon and horse. Amadou has already secured dinner for the evening as he and Yusuf had gone hunting and fishing much earlier that day. The smell of roasting rabbits seasoned with the meager spices they’ve managed to hoard for themselves is enough to make Šetû’s mouth water. Yusuf has secured sacks of rice, and a pot of it bubbles over an additional fire.
“Have any of you had any luck with the locals?” Šetû asks as she takes a seat on one of the logs arrayed around the campfire. Yusuf pokes at the rice with a grunt. Šetû laughs.
“They worship a four-armed man who looks like he eats people,” Yusuf says with a sour look on his face. “I’d rather not make friends with such a superstitious bunch, if you don’t mind.”
Amadou, the oldest of all of them, and their somewhat de facto leader, laughs.
“Perhaps you should consider taking more time to get to know them. We are the foreigners in this land.”
“We’re foreigners in every land,” Yusuf grumbles. There’s a collective groan as the twins come to join them and Yusuf’s sour face somehow—against all odds—grows even more pinched.
“Here we go,” Ajani murmurs with a grin as he sits next to Šetû, who hides her smile in her mug of tea.
“I was a djali!” Yusuf snaps. “A true scholar of the craft! I served noble families and was respected in every corner of the Mali Empire! I wore silks and walked in sandals made of the softest leather and exquisite beadwork. I was slated to be—”
“—given an honor at the right hand of the King himself; we know!” The others finish in unison. There is a sizzling sound as fat drips into the fire from the roasting rabbits. Another pot holds a rich stew. Since coming to this foreign shore, finding ingredients that best remind them of home has been hard. But they’ve made good coin this month and so their supplies are plentiful.
“Speaking of strange customs,” Ajamu says, gathering their bowls to serve rice and stew. “Did you see the woman next to him? Completely naked! Is that how these people celebrate the harvest?! And if she is his wife, how…immodest!”
Šetû snorts into her tea. “No,” she says. “I saw the way the people were looking at her. I’m guessing nudity at public events is frowned upon even here, Ajamu.”
“I didn’t mind the view,” Ajani says, earning an elbow to the ribs from his twin. He grins shamelessly. “She definitely had all of her best qualities on display.”
“Yeah, and was practically ready to rip Šetû’s throat out when that giant monster spoke to her for a few minutes.”
Šetû’s cheeks go hot. In truth she hadn’t noticed the nude woman’s venomous looks during the entire encounter. She’d been too afraid of offending Hida’s local deity. She thinks about the performance again: dust beneath her henna-stained feet, lost in the rhythm of her breathing to match the breath of the earth, her ears filled with the ancient rhythms of her homeland; four crimson eyes, glowing as bright as the flame she danced around, with a hunger she could not name; her head pressed to the ground in an obeisant kneel, a glimpse of very large bare feet, and thick bands of black ink around the ankles.
     Look at me.
Šetû remembers looking up, so far her throat arched. He had been massive, looking down at her with a curiosity that reminded her of a tiger deciding on whether or not the lamb in its grasp would be a toy or food…or both. She remembers his face, black ink limned into the skin in sharp, thorny lines, emphasizing the divine sculpture of his high cheekbones, his nose, his strong chin.
Four eyes, glowing like coals in the breeze, flaring bright.
And the heat and energy that she felt from him had been oppressive. Not only was he massive, but whatever power he held was just as big. He frightened her.
But more than that, he intrigued her.
“Šetû are you daydreaming again?” Ajani asks, handing her a bowl. Šetû blinks slowly, a waking dreamer pulled from a reverie she had yet to finish processing. She takes the bowl with gratitude.
“Well, it’s night,” she says. “So, no. I was just…thinking, is all.”
Ajani’s brow furrows with concern, but he says nothing, taking his seat beside her. For a while, the family eats in silence, enjoying the bounty prepared by the elder cousins.
“The headman gave us a gift for our performance,” Amadou says, breaking the silence as they eat. “A cask of their rice wine. I say we breach it tonight in celebration.”
“There’s five of us,” Yusuf grumbles. “How are we to finish an entire cask of wine in one evening?”
“Well, there’s no room for it in the wagons so we’re going to have to try,” Amadou says back with a smile. “I’d say we’ve earned a night of drunken respite! And the festival continues for another day. We’ve been permitted to participate in the rituals and festivities freely after our performance tomorrow.”
Šetû feels her mind beginning to fade, Amadou’s voice turning into a drone. That oppressive energy is back, spilling into their camp like a chilling fog.
     Hida’s god is here.
It’s frightening that none of them so much as heard a twig snap, but the conversation dies down as the four-armed deity’s shadow falls over them. Šetû shivers from his presence. There is something sinister about it, and whatever it is…it’s hungry. At that thought, she has an idea. She sets aside her bowl, jumping to her feet. She motions for the others to do the same.
“Šetû,” Amadou whispers, “you’re the one who speaks their language best. Does he mean us harm?”
“No, I don’t think so,” she answers. “But we should all kneel out of respect.”
And so they do, and the god’s brows raise up in surprise. The youth beside him, whose presence feels like the first, dire fingertips of the bitterest winter, smirks.
“My lord,” Šetû says from her kneel. “It is a surprise to see you here. How may we serve?”
The god tilts his head, says nothing for a long while. Šetû’s knees are beginning to ache.
“You may rise,” he says at last, as if he had been deliberating on something and finally came to a decision. “And resume your meal.”
Šetû breathes a sigh of relief as they all climb to their feet and return to their seats. Šetû lingers a moment and gives the god a friendly smile.
“Would you and your companion like to join us?” She asks. “We’ve plenty to spare, and we were just discussing breaching a cask of wine. Far more than needed for the five of us.”
Here, in the full light of their own cookfire, Šetû takes an opportunity to look upon Hida’s living god. She isn’t quite sure what to make of him, really, and his expression is inscrutable. For a moment, there is only the crackling of the fire, a log pops, and the subtle hiss of moisture steaming out of it in the heat. Amadou’s jaw is tense, his body taut. Of all of them, he is the only one with any real combat prowess, as he once served in the city guard back in their homeland. He and Yusuf and the twins have protected them from the onslaught of bandits, gangsters, ruffians, and all manner of unsavory attackers over the years. They will not let Šetû come to harm.
The god smirks, and Šetû is reminded of the first time she ever saw an animal slaughtered. His smile is the blade drawn across the trembling throat, spilling crimson vitae in its wake. She shivers and his nostrils flare.
“You would offer me a seat by your fire?” He asks. “Do you know who I am?”
     Šetû blinks in obvious confusion.
“Are you not…are you not the deity being honored at this festival? Ryōmen Sukuna?” She asks, genuinely puzzled. “It would be rude not to offer you a place by our humble fire. It would honor us, in fact.”
The god—Sukuna—crosses his lower arms and Šetû grits her teeth on a surprised sound but her troupe is not so subtle. There is a subtle gasp of shock. She hadn’t noticed his physique up close before, but it is truly a marvel.
“What’s this?” Sukuna asks, peering into the cook pot. Yusuf looks nervous but Amadou places a hand on his shoulder.
“Well,” he says, steeling his courage much to the amusement of the mountain of a man before him. “In our homeland it’s called…naman sa.” He glances at Šetû, who smiles.
“I guess the closest translation would be beef stew…but we didn’t have any beef on hand, and the local butcher would not sell to us. So we used rabbits we hunted.” She explains. Two crimson eyes regard her and she tries to maintain her composure under the weight of his gaze. A low rumble sounds in his chest, a sound that reminds her of a tiger purring. Pensive. Ajani and Ajamu gulp, clearly fearful.
“I will join you,” Sukuna says and there is a collective breath of relief.
From there, the strangest of meetings unfolds.
Sukuna arrays himself like a king by the fire. Amadou moves to serve him, but he holds up a forestalling hand. Amadou’s brows go up in silent question. Was he not hungry?
“I want her to serve me,” Sukuna says, pointing at Šetû who startles, but rises quickly to do so. Amadou’s brow knits in a frown but at his younger sister’s insistence he hands her the bowl. Carefully, she scoops heaps of rice into the bowl, then ladles a helping of the spicy rabbit stew over it. Sukuna’s lower eyes watch, going a little wide when he sees the stew on the rice but then takes the bowl from her proffered hands, admiring how she kneels to serve it to him. His large fingers brush her hands and heat blooms in her cheeks before she moves away to sit beside Ajani.
“Hashi?” Uraume asks cooly. Amadou’s brows knit again, and he nods, fetching a fresh set of chopsticks for Sukuna to use. He doesn’t hesitate, the god of Hida begins to devour the food immediately.
Everyone sits in silence, breathing slow, wondering just what they’d done to deserve his attention this evening.
Sukuna clears his bowl in record time. Amadou has retrieved the cask of rice wine, and pours Sukuna a cup, which he uses to wash down his meal.
Sukuna grins, eyes heavy-lidded, like a man sated.
“That was delicious,” he purrs. “Which one of you made this?”
Amadou bows. “It was me, my lord,” he says in his halting Japanese, speaking slowly. Of all of them, Šetû is the best at picking up languages, and they’ve not been in the country long. “Though it is my sister who crafts the recipes.”
Sukuna glances at her again and she tries not to jump.
“Uraume,” he says. “Get the recipe from this one.”
“Of course, Lord Sukuna,” Uraume says, affording Šetû a smile that can only be described as chilly. She chews her lip nervously.
“Well?” Sukuna grins, and they tense. “Don’t stop on my account. Do whatever it is you do when the locals aren’t bothering you.”
The troupe glances at one another in confusion. How did they carry on when they’d been warned how dangerous this man is? That he has a capricious temperament and kills on a whim?
     The wine.
It doesn’t take long, but the wine flows, and eventually, tongues loosen and tension eases enough for conversation to flow. Out of respect for Sukuna and his companion, they converse in Japanese to include them in the conversation.
“How is it you wound up here?” Sukuna asks. “And what was it you were singing earlier?”
Amadou smiles. “We travel all over, performing for coin, doing odd jobs. Our homeland was ravaged by war, and we had to leave. This may be the furthest we’ve ever gone in the world.”
Sukuna chuckles. “Tch. And now that you’ve come here, what do you think?”
Amadou is silent. Yusuf, however, snorts in disdain. Sukuna’s crimson eyes focus on him, and he startles like a cat in a spray of water. Ajani and Ajamu laugh when he shoots them a glare.
“Are all the locals so rude to foreigners?” Yusuf asks bitterly. Sukuna tilts his head with a grin.
“Count yourself lucky that it is only the ignorant peasants who are rude to you,” he says and there’s something about his tone that sends a chill down their spines. A threat? A warning? It can be either, but his smile is too sharp, like a butcher’s knife freshly-whetted on the stone. Even a caress will cut.
“I suppose you have the right of it,” Yusuf concedes. “Still, it’s something to hire us to perform and then force us to linger on the outskirts of the village. To have fallen so far—”
“What he means to say is…things could stand to be a bit more hospitable,” Amadou interrupts quickly. “But it is a beautiful country. Reminds me of some parts of our homeland.”
Sukuna recalls the brief conversation with Šetû and smirks.
“Come to my estate,” he says. “All of you. I could use some entertainment and new flavors to try.”
Yusuf looks visibly nonplussed but Amadou smiles.
“Truly? We would be honored to accept but…” Amadou hesitates, glances back toward the village. “We have obligations here. Would we still be welcome after the festival is done?”
Sukuna’s grin is sleek, and one of the eyes on the bone plate of his face settles on Šetû and she chews her lip again.
“I don’t see why not,” he says laconically. “You will be paid for your services. A great deal better than these provincial superstitious idiots. Aside,” he turns the full weight of his gaze on Šetû again. “I believe what you have to offer is very interesting.”
Amadou frowns. “And what do you mean by that, my lord?” He asks in a tone that dares to reveal a bit of steel. Sukuna grins then, and this time it chills all around the fire. Uraume smirks as if they know something the others do not.
“I have never seen art like yours before,” Sukuna drawls. “And it would please me to have you present it to me away from…” He gestures vaguely toward the village. Amadou seems settled by the explanation, but he shares a brief glance with Yusuf who seems to understand what just transpired.
“It would be our highest honor, my lord,” Amadou says, bowing his head.
There’s the sound of bells tinkling as Šetû shifts in her seat.
“We should play Hankali,” she says with a grin. Amadou and Yusuf look momentarily startled, but Ajani and Ajamu seize on that opportunity.
“Great idea!” Ajani says, getting up. “I’ll grab my tama, eh?”
Šetû claps her hands together excitedly, kicking her feet and making the ankle bells jingle prettily. Sukuna watches her with an amusement one would expect from a normally impassive deity.
“What is this…” he thinks for a moment, then says the word slowly. “Hankari?”
“Hankali,” Šetû corrects with a grin. “It’s a children’s game we usually play after a good night. A test of rhythm, memory, and word association.”
Sukuna snorts. “And how is it played?”
The little family gathers around as Ajani returns with a small, two-headed drum affixed with thick, gutstring ropes, and a curved stick with a flattened tip. He wears the drum slung on his shoulder and carried in his armpit; and it sits high, almost too high for it to be reasonably played by hand. Sukuna watches unblinking as he tests the drum, tapping out a rapid series of syncopated rhythms with only the stick and his fingertips. Sukuna’s eyes narrow when he sees the subtle flex of his arm, tightening the gutstring ropes and causing the drum to sound out different notes.
As if it is talking. Sukuna tilts his head, his curiosity getting the better of him.
“Teach me,” he says to Šetû, who beams at him as if he is an old friend and not the fearsome and rightly feared sorcerer that holds sway in these lands.
Sukuna watches as she moves her hands, gesturing to Ajani to play.
“So,” she explains, “we start by establishing a rhythm…”
Sukuna listens, watches as Šetû’s hands move, tapping her lap, clapping her hands, and then snapping both fingers. Sukuna’s brow furrows, listening. The drum, her hands, two counter rhythms locking in to become a sentence, a phrase. Sukuna begins to breathe in time with the music; it’s just like her performance earlier in the evening. He’s caught in the rhythm, tapping in time with one finger before he even realizes he’s doing it.
Šetû begins to sing, her voice coming out honey sweet in that strange tongue Sukuna doesn’t understand, introducing yet another element to the music. Sukuna focuses on her hands, but he hears the men respond to her call, and he smirks.
It doesn’t take long for him to pick up on the pattern, letting them play a round where they switch to Japanese, listing off words that are commonly associated with one another. At the end of each turn, Šetû returns to the calling chorus, and Sukuna responds. Even Uraume who is usually so reserved seems to relax to the music.
And now he’s having fun in a way he did not expect.
Several times, people are knocked out of the game for missing the rhythm, hesitating, or saying a word that doesn’t match the round robin. Sukuna laughs uproariously when he realizes the point of the game.
“It helps teach you our language,” he says. Šetû beams again.
“Got it in one,” she says. “We’ve gone begging for translators and native speakers in our travels, but the best way we learn is by simply immersing in the language. And then we use Hankali to practice.”
Sukuna smirks. “You’re passing fair at it already, and your brother isn’t a bad cook.” Although there’s a sense that he doesn’t believe for a moment that Šetû isn’t the smartest one in the bunch. He finds her brothers to be irritatingly suspicious and antsy, but Šetû has exhibited a calm in his presence he isn’t used to; not only that…she has welcomed him.
“My lord…” Uraume stirs by his side. He seems startled from his thoughts, eyes cutting downward to regard them. “We must depart if we’re to prepare for travel tomorrow.”
Sukuna sighs and waves a hand.
“Yeah, yeah,” he says dismissively. He rises to his full height, and all rise with him. They bow to him as he turns away to leave. He spares a glance over his shoulder.
“I expect to see you all at the shrine after this festival is over.” He says and Amadou keeps his eyes dutifully downcast.
“Of course, my lord,” he says, willing obeisance into his tone. Sukuna smirks smugly, pleased with the outcome. Uraume bows one last time before they depart.
“My lord appreciates your hospitality,” they say cooly.
And with that, the pair depart. For a while, Šetû watches them go until they vanish around a bend in the path, leading toward the thick forest, vanishing like mist.
“Anyone else almost shit themselves in terror?” Ajani asks when he’s sure Sukuna and Uraume are out of earshot as well as line of sight.
“Wallahi, each of the man’s hands were the size of Amadou’s head, I thought for sure he was going to kill us all,” Ajamu says, earning nervous but relieved laughter from the group.
“And the way he kept looking at Šetû…” Yusuf snorts. “Like he wanted to have her served up on a platter or something.”
Šetû’s cheeks flush with heat. “Please, he was probably just lost in thought or something. Plus, I’m the one who speaks the language best. And if you blockheads would actually stop acting like a bunch of posturing peacocks, we’d be able to get the locals to be more welcoming!”
“Tch! If his mouth hadn’t been closed, he would be drooling like a starved dog.” Yusuf says and Šetû laughs. She doesn’t quite believe it herself, but she remembers the weight of Sukuna’s gaze, the way the crimson irises seemed to gleam like drops of blood, rippling with something she couldn’t name. A hunger with an unending maw and gullet, one that will inevitably swallow her up if she dares get too close.
She pushes such thoughts from her mind.
“Well, in any case, we’ve accepted his invitation,” she says. “We can’t back out. Something tells me he’s not the type who takes kindly to one going back on their word.”
Amadou makes a pensive sound, resting his chin on his hands.
“Yes,” he agrees. “We’ll finish up the festival tomorrow and then head to the shrine. I don’t think Sukuna means us harm. He could have easily harmed us right here if that was his aim.”
Yusuf sucks his teeth in annoyance.
“And would you wander into the mouth of a tiger if it promised not to close its jaws on your head? Amadou, the man is dangerous. He had an aura of evil about him that chills the blood. You cannot mean to accept his invitation!”
Amadou sighs. “Of course I do, Yusuf. He has promised payment, and we’re low on coin as is. Our wagon wheel will need mending soon, and our food stores are in dire need of restock. Of course I will accept the invitation, what other choice is there?”
Yusuf grumbles but no retort comes to gainsay his brother. Thus settled, Amadou declares the night over. Together, siblings and cousins clean up the camp, douse the fire, and retreat to their yurt. Inside is a snug fit, but it’s warm. Ajani and Ajamu decide to take the first watch.
“What do you think we should expect at the shrine?” Šetu murmurs from her pallet. Amadou snorts.
“More of the same: servants, a few priests and priestesses, and Sukuna himself, I’d imagine. Likely he’ll only want us there for the night, so it should be safe.”
Šetû thinks about the way Sukuna’s crimson eyes flared with a hunger that made her shiver to the marrow. Safe is not the word she’d use, and yet she gets the distinct feeling his invitation is sincere. Her eyes drift close, and she catches the faintest whiff of something burning as she slips into sleep.

yes do the lewis fic pleaseee
short and sweet bc i promised anon i would do ittt i hope you like it
You're fidgeting with your rings - his rings, actually, that you stole months ago - when Lewis notices your knee bouncing for the hundredth time. The arena feels too warm despite your backless Valentino.
"You're going to drill a hole through the floor, love," he murmurs, leaning close enough that his lips brush your ear. His hand finds yours, warm and steady.
"Easy for you to be calm," you whisper back. "You've won eight world championships."
"Seven," he corrects automatically, making you roll your eyes.
"The eighth was robbed and we all know it." It's an old argument, one that makes him smile every time. "Besides, this is different. This is-"
"This is you about to win Song of the Year," he finishes, so confident it makes your heart ache.
You turn to face him properly, taking in how unfairly good he looks in his suit. "How are you so sure?"
"Because," he says, reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, "I was there when you wrote it at 3 AM on my kitchen floor. When you called me crying because the bridge wasn't right."
"You're biased," you argue, but you're smiling now. "You have to say that. It's in the boyfriend contract."
"Ah yes, the famous 'support your controversially young girlfriend' clause," he teases, and you can't help but laugh. It's become a running joke between you, how the media can't seem to get over your age gap.
"Speaking of which, did you see that headline yesterday? 'Grammy Nominee Spotted Looking Cozy with Elder Statesman of F1'?"
Lewis groans. "Elder statesman? I'm forty, not dead."
"Ancient," you declare solemnly. "Practically fossilized."
He's about to retort when Taylor Swift takes the stage, and suddenly you can't breathe again. Lewis must feel you tense because his hand tightens around yours.
"Hey," he says softly. "Whatever happens, you've already won. Seven nominations in your first year? That's unheard of."
"I just want-" you start, but then Taylor's speaking.
"Music tells our stories," she's saying. "And sometimes, a song comes along that captures something so real, so raw, that it changes how we see love itself..."
You feel Lewis shift beside you, and when you glance over, he's already watching you with that look - the one he gave you the first time you played him this song, the one that makes you feel invincible.
"And the Grammy goes to..." Taylor's smiling now, like she knows something. "'Birds of a feather!"
The world stops. Starts. Explodes.
Lewis is up first, pulling you into his arms before you can even process what's happening. "That's my girl," he whispers fiercely against your hair. "I told you, didn't I? I told you."
You're crying already, you can feel it, but you don't care. His hands cup your face and he's beaming at you with more pride than you've ever seen - more than after any pole position or race win.
"Go get your Grammy, superstar," he says, and then he's gently pushing you toward the aisle.
The walk to the stage feels infinite. You're aware of everything - the weight of your dress, the cameras following you, the deafening applause. But mostly, you're aware of Lewis in the front row, standing and clapping like he's watching the love of his life win Song of the Year at the Grammys (which, you suppose, he is).
"Oh god," you start, gripping the golden gramophone like a lifeline. "I wrote this song about falling in love. About meeting someone who changes everything when you least expect it."
You find his eyes in the crowd, and suddenly it's just the two of you.
"I should probably thank Formula 1 for canceling that race in Singapore, or I never would've been in that hotel bar, jetlagged and grumpy, when this absolutely ridiculous man in the most expensive hoodie I'd ever seen asked if he could buy me a drink."
The audience laughs, and Lewis is shaking his head, grinning that grin that still makes your knees weak.
"To Lewis - thank you for being the most unexpected plot twist of my life. For showing me that timing is everything, even when Twitter thinks our timing is inappropriate." More laughter. "For listening to every demo at 3 AM, for believing in me when I was just another girl with a piano and a dream..."
You're fully crying now, but so is he, so it's okay.
"For never once making me feel too young or too inexperienced, for teaching me that love doesn't follow anyone's timeline but its own. And yes, I know this speech is probably going viral for all the wrong reasons, but you taught me that sometimes the best stories are the ones nobody sees coming. I love you."
The camera cuts to Lewis, who's not even trying to hide his tears. But neither of you seem to care at the moment.
Later, after winning four out of your seven nominations, you're in the back of the car heading home. Your head's on his shoulder, Grammy in your lap, when he speaks.
"You know what this means, right?"
"Hmm?"
"Now I have to win the championship this year. Can't have you showing me up with all these trophies."
You laugh, snuggling closer. "Better get practicing then, old man."
"Menace," he mutters fondly, pressing a kiss to your hair.

just me and you // alexia putellas
Tumblr media
alexia putellas x lioness!reader
warnings: mentions of alcohol
summary: you desperately need a date to viv and beth's wedding and alexia happens to be there
word count: 1963
You look down at the white envelope in your hand, your name is written in elegant script on the front with a small smiley face that must have been added after the fact.
You smile back at it.
You don't even have to open it to know that it's for Beth's wedding but you rip it open anyway. It's the typical, we invite you to our wedding kind of stuff but what stumps you is the plus one that is given.
This is where your overthinking begins... If you don't bring anyone, you'll look a little odd but who are you supposed to bring?
The only other person at Barca that is going is Keira and she'll bring Laura.... and Ona is going to be Lucy's date and no one else knows Beth or Viv outside the professional sense.
So your options seem to reduce to no one very quickly.
You groan and throw the invitation on the coffee table before launching yourself on to the sofa, letting out a soft grunt when you hit the pillows.
God, the only way out was to meet someone before the wedding... and you had a couple of months to do so.
You begin with Tinder and promptly delete it after Ana 30 messages you for an autograph. You move on to Hinge and Bumble... you're meet with similar conservations- some ask for tickets, others for signatures. Then there are the occasional weird conversations, someone asking you whether you liked feet like they did or an in depth description of what they would 'do to you' which resulted in an immediate block.
This seemed to be going nowhere so you were about to just accept your fate and decide going alone is the best course of action until a random Tuesday training.
"So you got a date for Beth's yet?" Keira asks as she gives you a little bump with her shoulder whilst you drink your water.
You shrug and then give her a pointed look that explains everything or at least you hope it does because you don't feel like explaining all that.
She shrugs back, "You should just ask Alexia."
You snap your head to her as you spit out the water you'd been drinking- You had told her about your two year long crush on Alexia in confidence and here she was saying it out loud like it was obvious.
"What! No- absolutely not.. no just no." You sputter out, spilling water all over yourself and the grass.
Keira laughs and elbows your side to catch your attention again- you look at where or more like who she points at- It's Alexia, looking beautiful in the team issue training clothes and walking towards you.
You panic slightly, hoping she hadn't overheard your conversation since that would be a mess to sort out and your contract still had a year on it. You really didn't want to have to avoid her for a year.
"Hola." Alexia greets the two of you and bends down to collect her own water.
You mumble back a polite 'Bon dia' and look anywhere but her. Your cheeks are burning and you know you must look as red as a tomato, you pray that she doesn't notice.
Keira, who still stands next to you, elbows you again and whispers, "Just ask her, this is your chance, Y/N."
You shake your head frantically and are about to say something but Alexia beats you to it.
"What are you talking about?" Her accented English reaches your ears and you feel the tips off them heat up.
You are about to make up some excuse or just blatantly lie but Keira tells her the truth.
"We got invited to a teammates wedding and Y/N is trying to find a date but she's got no luck." Keira jokes.
You look at her with sharp eyes and then laugh lightly trying to play off your awkwardness with a smile. Alexia smiles back at you and that makes it a hundred times more difficult not to lose your cool when you notice just how radiant she looks when she smiles.
"I think I'm just gonna go alone for this one."
"What- no.." Alexia thinks for a moment, "It not bad luck to go alone?"
You bite your tongue as you try not to blush at her broken English. She was right, it was probably bad luck to go to a close friends wedding alone but you couldn't ask her... Could you?
"I go with you?"
And this time you snap your head in Alexia's direction, shock written all over your face.
"It will be fun, no?"
You nod trying to hide the growing feeling in your heart as she speaks to herself in Spanish that you don't understand.
The months pass quickly and you almost forget about the wedding altogether with Champions League games piling on top of the league and the cup adding to the stress with you trying to supress your feelings as the cherry on top of the cake.
It all comes to a halt when Alexia asks you what you plan to wear one evening after a match.
"What you wearing?" She askes, leaning against the wall as you zip your coat up, "To the wedding." She clarifies and you swear you can see blush on her cheeks but you play it off as lighting.
Your heart does a little flip when you hear her voice and then immediately sinks when you realise you haven't thought about your clothes yet.
Alexia must notice it too as suddenly her hand is on your bicep, rubbing up and down reassuringly.
"What.." You cough, trying to hide your blush, "What are you wearing?"
You try to steer the conversation away from you and it works for a brief moment.
"A dress.." She chuckles, "Maybe yellow? It will be summer, no?"
You nod, not much matches yellow and you weren't planning on wearing a dress.. no matter how hot it was going to be. Plus, did Alexia even want to match with you? It's not like... you were a couple or something.
Even though... deep down you wished you were.
"You.. wear a suit, no?" Alexia smiles at you kindly.
You snap out of your thoughts and raise your brows in shock but nod along.
"Classic is best."
And you once again find yourself nodding along and then suddenly she leans in to kiss you on the cheek as a goodbye. It makes you blush furiously and sputter out your own goodbye in horrible Spanish.
You keep her words in mind later that evening when buying your clothes, opting for black seeing as Alexia was most likely to approve of that.
But just to make sure, you send her a screenshot to which she responds with a heart, making your own one grow tight for a moment.
The wedding rolls around quicker than you'd expected.
After lifting the Champions League with Barca for the third time, you find yourself in a garden decked out with beautiful flowers and soft music playing as you wait for Viv and Beth to finish their photos after the ceremony.
Alexia returns with your drinks and you thank her as you blush. She looks beautiful, pale yellow dress fitting wonderfully into the wedding and the cut allows the most tasteful eyeful of her.
An eyeful you try not to make apparent.
You can a large gulp hoping it will calm your nerves but all you feel is the alcohol. Suddenly, you can't tell whether it's Alexia or the drink making you feel is light headed.
"You..." You start and then suddenly stop when Alexia looks at you. You blush under her gaze but continue anyway, "You look nice.. I mean beautiful... yeah really pretty.."
You wish you could smack yourself for that one but you're in a public space and Alexia is right next to you.
"Gracias." She says and you swear it's blush on her cheeks too but maybe it's just the low lighting.
She's about to continue but Leah spots you out of the corner of her eye and wanders up to you, greeting you with a tight hug.
"Was it your plan to look like a bumble bee couple or what?" She jokes and laughs.
Your eyes widen and you go to correct her but Alexia is already speaking over you.
"We think it's cute, no?" She wraps an arm around your waist and yours automatically makes it's way to her bare shoulders.
Any thoughts of denying Leah's assumption go flying out the window when Alexia is slotted into your side. Instead you happily chat away until it's time for the first dance.
The rest of the night is a whirlwind- the party is fully going now and it's safe to say that you're buzzed, if not even a little drunk after the amount you've had.
You're leaning against the bar, resting your face against the cold marble when a hand tugs you off your barstool and onto the dancefloor.
You yelp as your being dragged away from the comfort of the bar and are about to protest when you notice it's Alexia. Her hands are on your forearms and she's jumping up and down to the beat, urging you to dance along with her.
You grin, the alcohol mixing with the excitement- making all nervousness you have have had before fade away. It's now that you notice the light layer of sweat on Alexia's skin, it makes her baby hairs stick to her forehead but it makes you fall in love harder and want her that little bit more.
You feel as though your suffocating in your jacket and hot air fills your lungs every time you can a breath but you could careless if it means you get to dance with Alexia.
The same Alexia you'd fallen in love with on your first day at Barca and the same one that was with you now.
The fast dance song fades into a slow romantic one that you briefly recognise from some film and Alexia's hands slide from your arms to your shoulders prompting you to put yours on her waist.
Maybe it's the alcohol or the fact that Alexia's hands are on you again but you blurt out three words that could ruin everything, "I like you."
Alexia freezes in your arms and for a moment you think she's going to run off but instead she leans forwards to rest her head against your shoulder and chuckles into your ear.
"I know, carino,"
You laugh in shock and then she runs a hand down your nape, making you shiver with anticipation.
"I like you too... a lot." Alexia admits whilst the two of you sway gently to the music.
For an instant, it's like there is no one else but her and so you lean back to look at her before putting your lips on hers.
The kiss is as sweet as you expected it to be- you can taste the alcohol on her tongue and you're sure she can taste it on yours but it doesn't matter because she's kissing you back.
Your hands tighten on her waist, trying to keep you both upright as she kisses you back passionately. You hear a whistle in the background that sounds a lot like Lucy's but you ignore it.
Instead, when the kiss breaks apart, you lean your head on her shoulder and find yourself relaxing when she doesn't pull away from you.
You whisper sweetly into her ear, "It was like.. there was just me and you for a moment then.."
You can feel Alexia smile and it makes your heart tighten like it's about to explode. Knowing that she felt it too.

Ace: If this is actually your and Lilia-senpai's child, we definitely need to hear the family lore.
MC: Bro, what?
Deuce: Actually, I'm curious too...
Jack: How are we going to know that he's telling the truth?
Ace: Oh, yeah. Your concern is valid, Jack.
Ace: Since the Prefect tends to deny shit.
MC: You're the lying piece of ass here, Ace.
Ace: Lol. Anyway, wake up Lils. We'll start with the interrogation.
Lils: *being cuddled by MC so he would feel safe*
Ace: You ready, Lils?
MC: Why is Lilia here?
Lilia: Don't mind me.
Malleus, Silver, and Sebek: *also went to listen*
Ace: Lils, just be honest, okay?
Lils: *nods cutely*
Malleus: He also acts like Lilia...
Ace: What's your Mama and Papu like?
Lils: ???
Jack: I think you need to ask one at a time.
Ace: Oh, right. What's your Mama like?
Lils: *beams* Mama is very caring~ They feed me. Do the laundry. Wash dishes—
Ace: Typical.
MC: *throws a shoe at Ace*
Ace: Ack! A-Anyway... How about your Papu?
Lils: Papu? Hmm... I don't see him often.
Ace: ...
The rest of them: ...
MC and Silver: *giving Lilia judging eyes*
Lilia: *pouts* Hey.
Ace: Why is that?
Lils: Mama said Papu is like an old cat who is searching for a resting place. But I don't understand why he can't do that at home—
Lils: When we have a garden.
Lilia: ...
Sebek: Lilia-sama...
Deuce: *mutters* Vanrouge-senpai doesn't want to traumatize his child, I suppose...
Ace: Uh... Well... What can you say about their relationship? Do you think they love each other?
Lils: *nods enthusiastically* *smiles brightly*
Lils: Mama would wait for Papu in front of the house every morning!
Lils: And when Papu doesn't come home, Mama then will look sad... *puffs his cheeks*
Lils: *smiles again* But when he does come home, Mama hits him with a broom!
Malleus: Pft—
Lilia: ...
Silver: ...
Sebek: Huh?
Ace: *to MC* You bipolar or something?
MC: Bruh— no, what?

Where Do You End Pt. 1
Tumblr media
Main Masterlist
Read on A03! - Pt. 2
Tags: Dean Winchester/Female Reader, light angst, body swap, mentions of smut, humor, horniness, very weird
Summary/Warnings: You and Dean have found yourself in a body swap situation, but your bodies don't seem to be aware of that. They keep trying to do what they always do.
And what they always do isn't really something either of you what the other to know about.
Author's Note: Request from an anon! On god I made it as weird as it could get. I'm proud of me. Also, we're once again looking at multiple parts. Enjoy!
Word Count: 4.5k
This was fucking weird.
Dean knew wasn’t exactly worth saying—it might be the most obvious statement in history—but this was so fucking weird. Weird in a way that made his brain feel a little fuzzy, that made his skin itch because there was no way this was real.
But there was certainly a way this was real.
And it wasn’t Dean’s skin that was itchy.
She had nice skin. It was soft and comfortable to be inside of, the callouses on Her hands felt better placed than the ones on Dean’s, and there were scars that he’d sometimes touch on accident that felt more like art than stains. Her hair felt right whenever he’d brush his fingers through it. Her waist was perfect to hold whenever he’d brace his hands on his hips. And when Dean would reach up to rub his jaw, he’d be slammed with another reminder that this wasn’t his jaw. It was too smooth, at a different angle, and far too good.
This was the jaw he’d dreamt of holding and angling back. Of kissing a soft line across, sucking a small, dark mark on, or nipping at until everyone could see that Dean had been here. That his hand had wrapped around Her neck because she trusted him there, and he’d been holding Her chin up so She could look him in the eyes as they grinned at each other.
She had the prettiest smile. Her lips would curve up at the perfect angle, her eyes would shine like small stars, and every little line on Her face would serve as evidence that She was happy.
Dean hadn’t seen Her smile in a while. Not at him. Not like She used to.
And he certainly wouldn’t see it now. He couldn’t.
All he could see was himself, across the room, rolling on the balls of his feet and sucking on his teeth as he thought.
As She thought.
This was so weird.
“I don’t like this.” She muttered, and Dean frowned. His voice sounded rougher, deeper, and heavier from outside. He wasn’t sure how he felt about it, or how to interpret the small shivers up his spine and over his skin.
“C’mon,” Dean said Her name, in her sweet and musical voice, and he liked how it sounded. He’d always loved how She said her own name, like it was an answer to something or the only lesson Dean would ever need to learn. “Is it really that bad to be stuck in my body-“
“Yes.” She snapped, raising Her chin and glaring down at him, and now his heart was beating faster. “This feels weird, and I don’t like seeing you be me. You’re doing it wrong.”
Dean frowned, and Her hair fell over his eyes. “How the hell am I doing it-“
“You’re sitting wrong. Your legs are too wide, I don’t lean like that, and when I frown it’d not supposed to look like I’m trying to murder someone.”
Dean disagreed with that last one. Shit, for months the only expression he’d gotten from Her was a frown that told him She wanted him dead.
He didn’t blame Her. He wasn’t all too happy with himself either, but it had been the only option. She wanted him. She said She wanted him, and she hadn’t been lying, and that had been the worst thing in the world.
If She hadn’t really wanted him, Dean could’ve offered himself in all his broken, foul glory and She would’ve walked away all by herself. Dean never would’ve needed to worry about losing Her, because he wouldn’t have had Her to begin with. But She’d said Dean Winchester, I want you, and he’d fucking believed Her. He never believed people when they said that.
And him believing Her meant Dean could lose Her. Could truly let Her down and get her hurt.
So he’d said no. He’d lied with practiced ease—through his teeth and with a flat expression—and told Her he didn’t see her like that. That She was his best friend, and he’d just never felt that for Her.
She nodded, and backed off. Smiling less and frowning more and still joking with him but never bumping their feet together under a table or leaning Her head on his shoulder.
It was what he’d wanted. She was safer, and still within Dean’s reach to just see Her, to know she was okay. But he’d never expected to touch Her again. He’d made his peace with the fact that She’d always be just a stretch away, but never his to hold.
And now he could only hold Her. Only rub Her thighs when he was thinking, only touch her face when he tried to brush Her hair away, only feel Her everywhere, every second, until he drove himself mad.
He didn’t know if he wanted to thank the witch that had done this, or kill them again.
Right now he was leaning towards the later, if only because he really didn’t like seeing Her in his body. It wasn’t just weird. It was wrong.
“You’re not exactly acting like me either, sweetheart.” Dean raised his brows, and watched his own face drop into a further glower. “You’re standing too much like a girl.”
She scoffed. “What the fuck does that even mean-“
“You’re too relaxed-“
“Relaxed?”
“Yeah.” He tried to raise his chin, but Her hair fell in his face again. He didn’t know how the hell he was suppose to do anything when he had to keep it out of his face. “And you gotta walk slower. We’re not in a rush-“
“I’m in a rush! I told you, Dean, I don’t like this-“
“I’m not a big fan either!” He snapped. “But what the hell are we suppose to do about it? Every time we’ve tried to tell Sammy he hasn’t heard us-“
She rolled Her eyes. And they were Dean’s eyes, but that was Her eye roll. “That’s the curse, dumbass. We have to break it-“
“I got that, sweetheart, but I’m not seeing how you plan to do that without help-“
“I have you, Dean.” Her voice—his voice—was louder. Firmer. Commanding. It made his gut warm, and his body—Her body—sit a little taller of his own accord. “You’re on research duty, buddy. Let’s go.”
Dean scowled. He hated it when She called him buddy. He wasn’t Her buddy, he was supposed to be Her-
Nothing. Dean was Her nothing, because he’d been so very careful to make and keep it that way.
And that knowledge never stopped him from wanting Her. Wanting Her so bad that, when he’d glance down at her hands, now in his control, he couldn’t stop wondering if he’d ever get to feel them like this again. Rubbing against skin and tracing over the curve of his lips and trailing nails on his legs.
It didn’t really count. That wasn’t Dean’s body that he was feeling. But the touch felt real, and he didn’t really want to let it go yet, not if this was the closest to holding Her he’d ever get. Just a small, torturous reparation for his sacrifice of never really having her, where he got to memorize Her body and keep it in his head forever.
“C’mon,” Dean said Her name, because he wanted a little more time. A longer chance to exist in this purgatory, because he’d never get the chance to fully enter heaven. “You don’t need my help-“
“Yes, I do.” She snapped, grabbing Her jacket from the bed and marching to the door. “Get up. We’re going.”
Dean didn’t want to get up, but Her body didn’t seem to agree with him. He pushed off the bed and gained an unsteady balance, because Her knees were oddly weak. She wasn’t weak—She hunted like an animal and had used this very body to knock Dean flat on his ass—but something was making him lightheaded and dizzy.
He was probably just hungry. They hadn’t eaten since the curse hit.
“If we’re doing this,” he grumbled, shuffling to put on Her shoes. “We’re doing it with food.”
“Deal.” She tried to shrug on Her jacket, froze when it didn’t fit around Dean’s body, and chucked it right at his face. “Wear that. I don’t want you getting me a cold.”
Dean rolled his eyes, but put on the jacket. She was already pissed, and this wasn’t worth fighting about.
“This is so weird,” She mumbled, shaking Dean’s head. “C’mon, Winchester, we’re fixing this-“
“Wait,” Dean frowned, patting his pockets—Her pockets—and scanning around the motel room. “Where are my keys-“
“You mean these keys?”
He turned to see Her holding up the Impala’s keys, a shit-eating grin on Her face.
Dean narrowed his eyes, holding out his hand. “Gimme my keys.”
“No.” She shrugged, Her grin growing. “I think I’m good.”
“I’m not asking, sweetheart-“
“Okay. You take them, they’re yours.”
She walked out of the motel room, and Dean’s eyes widened. There was no fucking way She was driving his car.
“They are mine!” He shouted, sprinting after Her. “Just cause you’re in my damn body-“
Her body was faster than Dean was used to. He almost slammed right into Her back—His back—and an undignified sound left his when Her arms wrapped around his waist, catching him from a fall and holding him right to Her chest.
He’d never realized he was that broad. Or that strong. She was holding Dean like he was paper, and looking at him with shining eyes—he could see the real Her almost glowing in his body—and grinning with Her whole face. Dean’s whole face, with crinkles near his eyes he hadn’t known he had, and stubble on his jaw he’d meant to shave today.
Her hands were rubbing his waist. It was the small, careful circles he always dreamt of leaving on Her hips and arms.
He wasn’t sure She knew she was doing it.
“Uh,” Dean cleared his throat, because She needed to let go now. Her touch was burning on his body, and they hadn’t really touched since the curse hit, so maybe they weren’t allowed to. “Keys.”
She shook Her head. “This is my one chance to drive, Dean-“
“It’s my freakin’ car-“
“And I’m you.” She raised Her brows, still holding him, and the fiery feeling got worse. “I’m driving.”
He should’ve fought more. But Her hand squeezed him lightly, and his whole body grew molten.
She needed to let go of him now.
He tried to grunt Her name, but it just came out breathy and soft. “You crash it-“
“I pay for the repairs.”
Dean scowled, but gave in. Right now She was stronger and taller than he was, and Dean didn’t really want to lose any dignity trying to physically take the keys.
And She didn’t crash it. Dean watched Her drive with careful attention—grumbling about what She was doing wrong until She shot him the deadliest glare he’d ever seen—and She never even came close to crashing. Her hands were big and firm and broad on Baby’s wheel, and Her arms would flex when she shifted the wheel, and there was a set look of determination on Her face that made her jaw look shaper-
That was not Her jaw. That was his jaw. And his arms, and his hands, and he wasn’t sure why the hell his eyes had been wandering over himself like that. He didn’t know why the hell he could feel his heartbeat in his throat and stomach.
He wasn’t in full control. When they parked, his body didn’t want to move until She helped him out of his seat, and Dean didn’t miss the look of confusion on Her face, like she wasn’t entirely certain why She’d done that. It was the same expression she had when She guided him inside, or when She opened the door for him.
Those were things Dean always did for Her. He wasn’t used to a hand on his back, or how nice it felt there. Secure, like a tether that told him he’d be alright. He didn’t understand why his body leaned closer to Her’s as they walked, or why his stomach kept doing little flips when Her eyes would fall from scanning over the diner and land on his.
He felt so unbelievably safe and calm. Hell, he’d never felt like this. Like the sky could fall and it would be fine, because the body across from his in the booth would catch it.
This was a really weird curse.
“You’re going to take notes,” She said, pushing a stack of books across the table that She must have pulled out of her ass. “I’ll look for something online.”
Dean frowned, shaking his head. The fucking hair was in his face again. “Why do I have to do the notes-“
“Because I have better handwriting, and you have my hands.” She handed him a notebook and pencil, and their fingers brushed, sending small sparks of electricity through Dean’s blood. “Tell me if you find something.”
“Nah, sweetheart. I think I’ll have some pie and do the online research-”
Dean had started to push everything back across the table, but he froze at the glare on Her face. It was downright domineering, and did weird things to his brain. He felt fuzzy.
“You’re doing notes.” She grunted, and Dean definitely felt at least a little dizzy. “That’s it.”
His voice was high and almost bratty in his own ears. He didn’t like it. “But-“
“Don’t test me, Winchester. I swear to god I’ll eat a salad.” Her eyes narrowed. “I’ll take you for a run.”
Dean tensed. “You wouldn’t fuckin’ dare-“
“You wanna bet?”
She’d won the argument again. Those were the arguments Dean was supposed to win. He was supposed to be able to talk his way out of anything with Her. To smirk and wink and tease Her until she broke rank from Sam’s side, and Dean didn’t have to do the stupid parts of the cases anymore. He hadn’t taken notes in years. He hated taking notes, and he wanted to keep pushing until order was restored and She was doing the notes—she usually loved doing the notes—but Her body had other ideas.
His mouth couldn’t figure out how to open and snap at Her. His body was molded and frozen into the seat whenever She’d look at him, and something kept humming in his chest whenever She’d talk. He was taking notes because he couldn’t remember how not to—how to grab the laptop or point at Her with a stern finger—and Dean’s was writing fast and neat, and his hand wasn’t cramping.
His foot kept aching to inch forward and press on Her calf. His fingers kept wanting to reach out and trace Her jaw. Dean wanted to sit on Her lap—he could never say that one aloud—because his body seemed to think it would be comfortable.
This curse was insane. He didn’t need to try and act like Her anymore, because his body—Her body—still seemed to remember how She was supposed to move. He found his hands spinning the pen between Her fingers like he’d seen her do a million times. His legs were crossed on the booth instead of spread under the table. He ordered a burger, but he couldn’t eat it. It was too greasy and heavy, and he already felt a little sick from just one bite.
She’d ordered chicken nuggets, and put Her usual disgusting amount of ketchup on the plate, but barely touched them.
They smelled really good. Dean was starving, his mouth watering as he couldn’t stop staring at them—or Her, in his body, but he didn’t really want to dwell on that—and when She glanced up at him, Her eyes flicked to the burger in front of him.
They traded plates without a word. And Dean had never seen himself eat before, but he finally understood why Sam was always so annoyed with him. She inhaled that thing, chewing loudly and wiping Her mouth with the back of her hand, licking her fingers clean and making disgusting smacking sounds-
The sounds should’ve been disgusting. Instead they settled in Dean’s gut, lighting a small fire he didn’t know how to stop feeding. He couldn’t figure out how to not stare at Her, arms braced on the table and brow furrowed as she read something on the laptop screen.
He had to excuse himself to go get more drinks.
“One beer.” He muttered, then immediately cringed. Beer sounded foul to his mouth. “Actually, make it a milkshake.”
“Hey, darlin’.”
Some poor chick at the bar war probably getting hit on. The lady behind the counter seemed motherly. She’d handle it if it got out of hand, and Dean had bigger problems to deal with anyway. Problems like how if he didn’t have a milkshake right now, he might actually die.
“What flavor, sweetheart?” The server asked, and Dean frowned. Being called sweetheart was weird.
He responded with Her usual order—hopefully that would satisfy his unwelcome craving—and someone off the side cleared the throat.
“You gonna answer me?”
A hand landed on Dean’s arm, and he flinched. It felt clammy and wrong on his body. Like a weight that settled into his bones and sent a creeping, itchy feeling over his skin.
He turned to see a fairly tall, well-built man grinning at him with an almost predatory smile. It made his body go rigid, almost shrinking in on itself.
“Are you, uh,” he frowned. “You talking to me?”
The man laughed. It was too loud, with not warmth, and echoed like a gunshot in his skull. “Course I am, sweetheart. I don’t see any other pretty girls ‘round.”
Oh.
Dean was the poor chick being hit on.
And he hated it. His body hated it. Not only was this man’s touch wrong, his voice was wrong. It slithered over Dean’s gut and chest, making everything in him recoiled and balk, because that was not how he was supposed to be called sweetheart.
“I, um,” he glanced back to the booth, frowning when he realized She was gone. “Listen, dude, I’m not-“
“Dude?” The man laughed. “We can do better than that, baby-“
Dean might have visibly recoiled. He hated baby, only one voice felt like it was supposed to call him baby, even if it never had-
He didn’t know what was happening, or why he was having such a visceral reaction to something that should’ve been passive and boring. Dean knew She got hit on all the time, because she was a fucking knockout, and his usual reaction to it was a possessive anger he had no right to feel. Not disgust, or a weird desire to retreat and hide-
“What’s going on?”
That was Dean’s own voice. And there was a large presence behind him that felt reliable. That his body wanted to lean back into.
When Dean turned, She was right there with narrowed eyes.
He didn’t love how he immediately felt better, and softer, and a little light-headed.
“Hey, man, you gotta wait your turn-“
“My turn?” She snorted. “Walk away from hi- her, buddy, or I’ll kick your ass. I can do that now.”
She puffed Her chest, and—as soon as his brain remembered how to not be static warmth—Dean would have to talk to Her about not abusing his body for unapproved bar fights.
The man scoffed. “Bro, there ain’t no way this is your girl-“
“She is.” Her voice was dry, her face flat. “In more ways than you can imagine. Go.”
Dean was starting to like this curse less. To start, he didn’t appreciate the speed at which the idea of Her being his girl had been dismissed. He also wasn’t a huge fan of how She’d called him his girl, and he’d liked it. She’d been talking about how Dean was in Her body, and she probably didn’t want a random creep trying to get in her pants.
Dean’s body—Her body—loved the sound of Her agreement in his voice. It made him feel tingly.
It didn’t help how She was touching him—holding his arms as She glared at the man over his head—and it kicked the feeling from a soft, warm hum to fireworks. Dean wanted Her hand to meld there and never let go. When the man walked away and She started talking, he never wanted Her to shut up.
“You-“ She swallowed, shaking Her head slightly. “Never mind. I found it.”
Dean blinked at Her. “It?”
“How to tell Sam.
“Oh.” He paused, mostly staring at her as the words sank in, and letting out a long breath of relief escape him when they did. “Awesome.”
She raised Her brows. “You’re pro switching back now?”
“I’ve always been pro switching back-“
“You said it wasn’t that urgent.”
Dean rolled his eyes. “I changed my mind, sweetheart. What’d you find.”
She gave him an odd look—Dean couldn’t tell if it was hurt, annoyance, or absolute indifference—but continued. “We have to work around the curse.”
“What the hell does-“
“We can’t tell Sam that I’m you and you’re me. Every time we have the call gets dropped, or something loud has drowned us out, Sam’s literally fucking hangs up-“
“I know,” Dean drawled Her name, giving Her a flat look. “I was there for all of that-“
“Shut up. My point is every time we’ve tried to explicitly tell him, he hasn’t heard us. So what if we just don’t?”
Dean frowned at Her. “Your solution is to just freakin’… give up? Like we’re a kiddie soccer team that lost one to many matches, and we’re gonna quit and cry about it?”
“No, Dean. My goal is to not say it, but let Sam figure it out himself.”
“How-“
“Think of something only you and Sam know about. Something you’d never disclose to anyone else.” A wide, broad grin was stretching over Her face. Dean’s face.
He couldn’t keep living like this.
“We’ve got a few of those kinds of secrets, but I’m not-“
“You don’t have to tell me. You have to tell Sam, in my voice. Just like I’m going to say one of our secrets in your voice.”
It was a smart plan, and it would probably work. Sam knew She and Dean were being so annoying and weird about each other, so they wouldn’t be spilling deep, dark secrets anytime soon. Sam would hear them, and he was smart, so he’d figure them out.
But Dean was mostly stuck on the last part of that sentence.
“You and Sammy have secrets?”
She rolled Her eyes. “We’re friends. Of course we have secrets.”
“About what?”
“It’s not a secret if I tell you.”
She crossed Her arms—Dean’s arms—and he wanted them to wrap around him and keep him warm and safe, maybe choke him a little or carry him around everywhere like he was the only thing She was meant to hold-
Jesus.
“Whatever.” Dean muttered. He needed to get away from Her now. “I’m going to the bathroom.”
She frowned. “Can you hold it?”
“Yeah, but why the hell would I-“
“I don’t want you peeing in my body.”
Dean snorted. “Are you freakin’ serious-“
“Yes! You’ll have to wipe-“
“I know how to wipe, sweetheart. And you’re gonna need to take me to piss eventually-“
Dean could swear She blushed. He blushed. Goddamnit.
“I’d hold it.” She snapped, standing a little taller. “You can go back at the motel, where I can go with you.”
“Why would you need to go with me-“
“I don’t want you touching me there, Dean!” Her voice was a low, hushed shout. “It’s- You don’t get to- I’d need to wipe, and make sure you didn’t look!”
“It’s just a pussy,” he said Her name slowly, and She looked like she was going to kill him.
His horrible body—Her body—wanted to either give in or push harder, until She snapped him in half.
It seemed to like the idea of Her giving him anything at all.
Dean could work with that.
“Dean, I’m fucking serious-“
“So am I! It’s just a body, ” He sneered, and really wished She was taller. It was hard to be firm and authoritative when She was bigger.
When this was over, he’d probably respect Her a little more. She shouted and him and Sammy all the time without ever flinching.
“Look, I get that this is weird as hell, but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before-”
“You haven’t seen it before. It’s my vagina, Dean, and you don’t get to see it now. Hold your piss.”
Suddenly, it clicked. She cared that Dean would be touching Her. If it was Sam, She wouldn’t give a shit.
But Dean had lost the right to touch Her there when he’d decided he could never hold Her.
It had felt like a good idea at the time. Past Dean had understood that She deserved better, and She shouldn’t have to live Her whole life with a target on Her back. Past Dean had known that She’d find better, and he’d be forgotten in a few years, and it was better for his to have another good thing slip through his fingers rather than hold it and break it. Past Dean just wanted Her to be happy and safe, and She’d never be both as long as She was attached to him.
Past Dean had been an idiot. That son of a bitch hadn’t needed to pee this bad, and he hadn’t spent months with Her just in reach.
Dean opened his mouth to say something—not an apology, because he’d make that choice in every life to keep Her safe—but before he could, She was moving. Grabbing the hook of Dean’s arm and pulling him out of the diner.
“That’s my body, Dean.” She snapped. “You’re peeing at the motel.”
Dean grumbled an agreement, and didn’t fight all that hard. He had bigger worries. She was pulling him through the parking lot, and he was letting Her. Shit, he was trying to jog a little to keep up with Her, maybe fall into her side. Just fall into Her. She opened the Impala door and he scowled, but let Her help him inside. Her hand touched his lower back again, and it set off fireworks around his ribs and through his intestines.
He felt weirdly warm and gooey, his skin was tingling again, and when he shifted slightly in his seat he could feet something wet between his legs-
Son of a bitch.
She’d been manhandling him, and he was turned on by it. Her body was turned on by it. She wanted to Dean to jump in his own body and climb it like a tree, and Jesus, that ache between his legs was unbearable, and he wanted his own cock inside off him-
They needed to fix this right fucking now.
End Note: Brace for incoming smut and silliness and angst. Brewing a perfect storm over here.

Shark Teeth
Jaune was sitting at a library desk, working on a join project with, Weiss. He was tired from all the work he was doing, so he let loose a tired yawn, when...
Jaune: Yawwwwwwww...ERK?!
Weiss: Whoaaa....
Jaune: Yiss... wha ar ehh doin?
Weiss: You have shark teeth...?
Jaune: Ehhs.
Weiss: Are you a shark faunas?
Jaune: Ehh's dat a hobrlem?
Weiss: No, no well... not at all... It's not a problem at all! D-Do you mind if I ask you some questions?
Jaune: Illa ya reoove yer annd irst?
Weiss: Ahh?! Soryysorrysorry!
Jaune: Ahh?! Okay, why did shove your hand into my mouth?
Weiss: Oh, I s-saw your teeth, and I was surprised that they were shark teeth.
Jaune: Are you upset by that?
Weiss: What, no not at all, why do you ask?
Jaune: You're not upset I'm a faunas?
Weiss: No, a little upset since you didn't tell me, any of us that you were a faunas.
Jaune: My teammates know. I just never brought it up to others. Never cared to tell other people since they'll only know I'm a faunas if they see my teeth.
Weiss: I see... Have you lost teeth like normal sharks do?
Jaune: And, have them grow back? Yep, that's has happened before. I'm regrowing some right now; See?
Weiss: Whoa... Wait? Those shark tooth necklaces you gave your teammates... Those were from your mouth?!
Jaune: Yep. I made a side hustle selling my teeth in jewelry online, they learned about it, and demanded some of my of my merchandise.
Weiss: ...
Weiss: C-Can I have one too...?
Jaune: A shark tooth necklace?
Weiss: Yes!
Jaune: Sure, I can do that for you. Do you want to see my merchandise?
Weiss: That's wonderful! I really like sharks! I have all sort of shark plushies at home, I even have a shark onesie too!
Jaune: Oh...? You like sharks, and have a shark onesie? That's adorable!
Weiss: It... It is...?
Jaune: Yeah, I can imagine you holding a shark plushie while curled up in bed. Sounds adorable. Makes you seem more... more human.
Weiss: More human? Well... I suppose that makes sense... I do have a standoffish air about me. Can I ask you one more question?
Jaune: Sure.
Weiss: Does... does blood effect you? Like, does it send you into a blood rage, or something?
Jaune: Oh, well... I've ingested animal blood before... I got into that blood frenzy before; Ripped that poor deer to bits... I've had human, and faunas blood before. Male blood is rather disgusting, made me throw up after ingesting it.
Weiss: And, female blood?
Jaune: Uhhh... Well... It's made me rather... energetic...
Weiss: Energetic?
Jaune: Yeah, energetic... let's just put it like that...
Weiss: Oh, so what would happen if I did this...?
Jaune: Did what?
Weiss then pushed her finger into, Jaune's mouth again, he was going to ask her what she was doing, but he felt her run her finger across his tooth, and then he tasted it.
Blood.
Weiss blood.
It tasted sweet, and delectable. But, as the taste of her blood flooded into his senses she removed her finger from his mouth. Jaune watched as a deep blush spread across her face as she looked on at him wanting.
Jaune: ...
Jaune: You're going to regret that, Weiss...
Weiss: H-How am I going to regret that, Jaune...?
Jaune: It depends...
Weiss: On what?
Jaune: How bad you're limp will be~!
Weiss: I don't know, but it will be worth it~!
Jaune: Well then, Weiss; It seems like there's blood in the water, and the sharks have tasted it... you ready for the hunt to begin, Weiss?
Weiss: Always~!

omg I have some complicated feelings about this.
so there's one comment in the notes about how "lazy" employees would refuse to send an email for customer convenience even though it would take "just 2 seconds" to send. Which... yeah, valid complaint
but it's more than just "laziness" on the part of employees (although there definitely are a lot of employees who have lost all empathy for what customers and patients are actually going through, and that's its own whole problem, and it's frustrating as hell for those employees who still do care).
It's also a systemic "laziness" on the part of corporations: a refusal to put certain things in their own employees' job descriptions and to allot enough staffing to do those things.
yes, at my pharmacy job it could take 2 seconds to send an email, IF there was an established template for emails and an easily accessible button to select, customize and send it for the patient who currently needs it. But if it isn't so seamlessly integrated into our job, it will require composing the email from scratch on our own.
Which still isn't a LOT of time and work… but, suppose it takes 1 minute. Then multiply by, say, 30 customers who need it done per day per employee (in a busy pharmacy day shift). That's 30 extra minutes of work for the employee who gets those 30 calls. Who, in many cases, is already assigned more work than physically possible to complete in a day, even skipping all breaks, and will be penalized for taking any overtime. If this extra email-sending is not explicitly a required part of the employee's job description, an already overworked employee is not likely to try and make time to do it.
Now, I'm the kind of employee who still does this sort of thing for patients who ask. And I did this even at my worst and most overworked jobs. Where it was thankless work, each individual case more likely to get me yelled at than praised by management (although, once I'd established it as an expectation customers had, I'd then also get yelled at for not doing it, by both customers and management, once the managers got the customer complaints). No-win situation for everyone.
Another source of frustration for the busier pharmacies I've worked in: The responsibility of calling for prescription transfers. Everyplace I've worked has had basically the same rule: If a patient wants to get a med transferred from one pharmacy to another, calling for it is the responsibility of the pharmacy that is to receive the prescription.
I think the reason is partly corporate self-interest ("no pharmacy takes on the extra work of making calls to give away their own customers to another pharmacy. The pharmacy getting the new business has to work for it.") But it's also probably an issue of responsibility for error-- if I call another pharmacy to transfer out a prescription because a patient told me to, I'm at fault if I've been given the wrong contact information and end up transferring it to the wrong pharmacy.
Or, if the patient hasn't even looked into whether the other pharmacy even CAN fill this prescription, they just think it'd be more convenient-- then, if I call the other pharmacy to transfer, they are likely to assume I know what I'm doing (especially if I get an entry-level, barely trained employee, as is often the case). They'll accept my word that they should be able to fill it. And then, if it ends up being something they don't sell, or an insurance they don't accept, THEN we've got the prescription stuck at a pharmacy that can't do anything with it, and it'll be another whole mess to get it back, and then it's my fault for not just leaving the work to the pharmacy that's invested in getting the new Rx.
In practice, though, the way it's done is ALSO an absolute mess.
At my busier former workplaces, it would go like this:
I pick up the phone. It's one of our current patients, calling to say they need their prescription transferred to another pharmacy. I tell them that they will have to call the other pharmacy to call us. They fight back, pointing out that this is extra work for everyone (because at that point, me calling the other pharmacy would be just one more call, whereas them calling the other pharmacy and having them call me would be two more calls.) I agree but reiterate that it's our policy. The patient hangs up. Then later-- assuming that those two calls out of my control actually went through-- our pharmacy will hear from the other one, and we'll start the transfer process.
BUT I'd better have made sure I added a clear note on the patient's profile about their earlier call, AND that my coworkers actually bother to look at the profile notes. Because, turns out that call wasn't just wasted time on the patient's part-- even though the patient may now think it was.
Because, if we don't have any record of the patient's earlier call, then whichever of my coworkers received the new call is now just getting a random out-of-nowhere call from another pharmacy asking us to give them one of our customers! And there've been issues with pharmacies that have done that without even having the patient's permission. SO we've got to call back again to confirm with the patient that they actually want this. It's the most excruciating game of phone tag and everyone involved totally hates it.
And this is before I even get into the subject of calls that involve doctors' offices or fucking insurance companies.
Which… no, I'm not going to get into that now. (crashes in exhaustion)
I think this is just a trend everywhere but I've been very frustrated this week by how much admin work is being outsourced to me as the patient/customer.
My orthodontist tells me I can make an appointment with the surgeon. I call the surgeon. They tell me I need a new referral. I call the orthodontist. They do a referral. I call the surgeon. Referral didn't come through. They tell me about their special unique system we have to use. I call the ortho again and walk them through the referral. I call the surgeon. They say the referral was missing some details so they have to do it again. I call the ortho.
The insurance company calls me about repair shops. I give them the name of the repair shop which I already gave them yesterday. They say they're not in their system but I can use them, but I have to call the repair shop to ask them to contact the insurance company. I call the repair shop and they say the insurance company is supposed to email them.
I feel like at a certain point these constant fetch quests become unreasonable?? Is it too much to expect these groups to communicate with each other instead of making me run back and forth between them???

MR FRODO!!! DONT GO WHERE I CANT FOLLOW!!!!!
i'm no happier about this than you are. do u understand how long i've escaped hockey.... i mean, i'm not an animal. i've sampled their wares. i've perused their markets. and on cold nights when there was nothing left in my "marked for later" tab, i've gone hunting on their land. but i've never bothered to learn enough to picture them. do you know i've read almost every good fic in the sid/geno tag and only i found out what geno looks only like two years ago? i've been STRONG. except i guess that time sashayed ALMOST got me into that one retired guy who i thought was so fucking hot but no one ever wrote fic or posted about him so it didn't go anywhere.
anyway what i'm saying to you is that i don't like what's happening for me. unfortunately, grace, it's hard times over here. i'm almost done my biannual reread of the 2 million word fic where harry potter becomes part phoenix. i'm BORED. I AM BORED!!!!! and when i scroll and i see my friend talking about a man absolutely humiliating himself because he's desperately jealous that he wasn't featured in an instagram post? i'm supposed to SCROLL PAST two boys giggling and whispering because they've never experienced this feeling before and don't think anyone else has?? HELLO. i'm interested. i'M INTERESTED. i don't wanna watch hockey and i swear to god if anyone tries to teach me ONE thing about the game i will SCREAM!!!! but i also want very very very badly to read about them frotting until it kind of hurts and then secretively thinking like, "did we invent doing that.....no one else can possibly have figured that out....."

the world(and me. mainly me tbh) is in dire need of prompt 22 with eris. also ily and your writing!
Steamy Intentions
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eris x f!reader
A/N: thank you my sweet!! ily too 🩷 this one's a bit shorter than the others, but i hope you enjoy anyway!
Prompt: "You're such a tease today."
Warnings: fluff, teasing, suggestiveness
Word count: 588
Tumblr media
Eris groaned softly when you pressed your thumbs into the tense knot at the base of his neck.
He was soaking in the bath you had drawn for him earlier, his eyes closed as you massaged his shoulders. It had been a long week, and you could feel it in the lingering tension coiled within his body.
“Your hands work wonders, my love,” he said quietly.
You smiled, continuing your massage for a few more moments before you let your hands slide down to his chest. Leaning forward from where you sat on the edge of the tub, you pressed a trail of tiny kisses from his neck to his ear.
“They can do even more wonders, you know,” you murmured, caressing his chest until your fingertips brushed the warm water.
Eris's eyes remained closed, but you didn't miss the way the corner of his lips curled in a grin. “Oh, I know they can, darling.”
Your mouth trailed down the side of his throat as your hands dipped beneath the water. “Want me to show you?”
His chuckle was low and soft, like a caress. “You’re such a tease today,” he mused. “First with that little dress, now this… What's the occasion?”
You smiled against his skin. “I knew you liked that dress.”
He could deny it all he wanted, but you knew better. You had caught him stealing glances at you every time he thought no one else would notice. But you did. You always did.
“Well, I couldn't let everyone know how much you affect me, could I?” he retorted.
You hummed before leaving one last kiss in his hair and standing up. At the rustle of fabric, Eris cracked open an eye just in time to watch that very dress slip from your shoulders and pool at your feet.
He sat up a little straighter in the tub, arms draped over the edges as you stepped into the water and settled between his legs. Warmth and bubbles immediately surrounded you, but your focus remained on your mate.
“The occasion,” you said slowly, reaching out to brush his jaw with wet fingers, “is that you've been working hard lately. I wanted to help you take your mind off things.”
His already relaxed expression softened further, and he kissed the tip of your thumb when you brushed it over his lips. He wrapped his arms around your waist, drawing you as close as he could in the snug space of the tub.
“Then I must congratulate you, my dear,” he murmured. “Because you've succeeded. I'm as relaxed as I could ever be.”
He pulled you in for a kiss, his lips soft against yours. You indulged him for just a moment, and when you pulled back, he followed, chasing your lips for another kiss. You only smirked.
“Are you, though?” you teased, hands already disappearing beneath the surface. Now that he had drawn you closer, you could feel his erection rest hard and heavy against your thigh. “Because it seems to me like someone might still need those wonders, after all.”
“Don't you act all innocent, as if it isn't entirely your fault.” Eris smirked right back at you. “You've been teasing me all day. And you looked ravishing in that dress.”
You chuckled, leaning in to kiss him again as your fingers wrapped around his hard length. He shivered and throbbed in your gentle grasp.
“Well, then,” you whispered against his lips. “Since it's my fault, I suppose I should make it up to you.”

I would encourage people to try different distros over time to see which one suits you best. I use Archcraft, which isn't beginner-friendly. But the neat thing about Linux is that you can use a USB stick to boot into a "live" OS and try it before installing.
In the olden times, this was more often done by burning a large file to a blank DVD disc, but it's become much easier to do with the USB stick method. But especially in those days, you wanted to try before installing. For one thing, installation used to take a really long time. And without trying it, you couldn't be 100% sure whether all your hardware would work as expected. There are still some issues in that area, but it's a lot better than it used to be.
Distrochooser is a great place to start. I'd also suggest checking out the following:
This is a great resource. Suppose you have a computer, or you're considering buying a new one, and you want to know how compatible the hardware will be with Linux. You can look up the model of the computer and see information on it that's been uploaded by actual users who have that same machine and the distros they tested on it. You can also look up information by specific part, like a sound card that isn't working properly out of the box, as an example.
This kind of thing used to be a much bigger headache, but there can still be some issues. Which is also why I'd encourage most people to dual-boot Windows or macOS alongside a Linux partition. There are a ton of guides on how to do this. You'll have to find one for your specific machine or one similar, like from the same company and around the same year.
You don't have to get comfortable with using a terminal, but it's a good idea. The more you understand how Linux works, you can customize it and make it your own in ways you just can't with Windows or macOS. I really like that about Archcraft. There's a good base, and I can add to it in ways that work for me.
You may also spend a while distrohopping, bouncing around until you find one that suits you, and then you may decide after a while to hop around some more. I've tried dozens of them over the years. It started as a curiosity thing I was messing with in my dorm room. Then my laptop was stolen, and I basically cobbled one together out of spare parts. But it couldn't run Windows XP for more than about 20 minutes before crashing and powering down. So my Linux skills became useful, and I learned to make do with a machine that had only about 35 GB storage. I wouldn't recommend it, but I'm glad I had the skills and knowledge necessary to put that together. When I was stranded at my dad's house during the recession for a year and a half, it was my only lifeline to the world outside my tiny hometown.
Seriously, Linux is amazing. You should explore it, especially if you're a curious person like me. There's a lot to explore, and that's one reason why I like it. I try new or obscure distros sometimes just for fun. But that's probably the autism.
I might add more to this but I'm trying to put together a guide for people who are new to Linux and curious about it, because more and more people seem to be getting sick of Windows all the time. I keep a Windows partition because there are a couple of games I like that work better on that OS, so it's just a matter of practicality. You might need a Windows (or Mac) partition for another reason, like work or something. Once again, it's about finding what works best for you. I think a lot of people would be happier with Linux, and I'm really glad it's more doable now than when I started.
"windows 11 upgrade ready!" "your computer is eligible for windows 11!" "download windows 11 now!"

you can't remember your last kiss with nanami kento. no matter how much you try, you just can't.
was it this morning? when he woke you up, newborn daughter in-hand? no, that couldn't have been it. because, after, he kissed you again, chaste, as he moved past you to get to the dishwasher.
and then again, when he set your breakfast on the table. another time after, too. when he settled on the couch with you and his baby girl.
but was that the last one? or, was there more after?
you can't remember. in your defense, you didn't have a reason to keep track. there shouldn't have been. the second you told him you were pregnant, he dropped the world of jujutsu. it was over, or it should have been.
speaking of, your pregnancy, it wasn't ever anything you really wanted. it was something he did. kids. it was his dream, you're pretty sure, the whole white-picket-fence fantasy.
and you? you didn't care, not much. as long as you had nanami, you were okay with anything. besides, he'd been so happy when you broke the news. it's not like you guys had been actively trying, which is why you were surprised to see his reaction.
but again, for him, you'd do anything. what did it matter, anyways? it was just a kid, right? and he'd be there every step of the way, right?
wrong.
it was another sunday, the three of you had been snuggled up in bed, just when he got the call.
"they want me to come in," he explained, softly.
"what?" you knew the answer.
"i won't go if you don't want me to. but, darling, i doubt they'd have called me in, if it hadn't been urgent."
you inhaled, watching him gently rock his daughter in his arms. "does- does that mean it's bad, then?"
"well, i'm sure it's nothing i can't handle," he informed you, paired with a soft smile.
"i don't know, na'mi. you said you weren't gonna go back." there was hesitance in your voice, one that trembled.
"honey, that's why i said it's up to you, okay?" nanami pressed his lips to your forehead.
if people really needed him, who were you to not let him go? what were you supposed to do? say no, let those people die? guilt gnawed at you. slowly, you nodded, looking up to meet his gaze.
so, you stood there at the door, watching him kiss his baby what should've been a temporary goodbye.
you can't remember if he kissed you goodbye, too. he probably did, but you can't remember.
"promise you'll come back to me?" you'd buried your face into the crook of his neck.
"of course, baby. i promise."
fucking liar.
oh, god, and when they told you there wasn't even a body to recover?
too much. all too much.
you think that you would've followed him, had there not have been his baby stopping you.
kiss, kiss, kiss; why can't you remember? why?
the cries of his baby, the baby that yearns for her father, they are etched into your head. you can't get her to stop. you don't blame her. you can't stop, either.
you aren't her mother. she isn't your daughter.
she's nanami's, but he's gone.
the only thing he left you with is a child you never wanted, a living, breathing reminder of his absence, of his broken promise, of the kiss you can't remember — the kiss that might as well have never happened.

Ruffled Hair and Genuine Smiles
Riddle x !Mother Figure! Reader (platonic)
Tumblr media
It was after Riddle's overblot, when you crouched next to him on the ground as he cried and gently wiped his tears before offering the warmest hug he's ever gotten in his life, that he first felt that warm feeling in his chest.
You went on to offer to help him make the tart Ace demanded as an apology; pointing out that Ace had plenty of help making his and therefore Riddle deserved at least one person to help him.
When it came to baking the tart, Riddle had that unfamiliar, warm feeling in his chest the whole time you two were working.
You giggled when he got flour on his cheek, and when he pouted, you smudged some on your own as well so the two of you would match.
Riddle was stunned by your action, but he found himself letting out the most genuine laugh he's laughed in ages.
When Riddle mentioned the oyster sauce you gave him a strange look before shrugging and telling him to go ahead and add it. (It would he Trey, the one who told him this little 'trick', that would be tasting the consequences)
You could see Riddle trying his hardest to be better after his overblot, so you made sure to let him know you saw his efforts. Sometimes you did this with words, and other times you did it by fondly ruffling his hair.
It doesn't matter if you're all that much older than Riddle or not, at this point he was starting to unconsciously see you as a mother figure.
On the rare occasion that he didn't already have his tie tied perfectly and positioned just right, you would come up and do it for him. (there's that warm feeling again)
On test days you'd meet up with him after school to see how he did. When he did well you hugged him happily. When he did poorer than he hoped, you still hugged him: reassuring him that this wouldn't be the end of the world. "We all fall short of our goals sometimes. It's a part of life and it's how we learn. Look at your test. The ones you got wrong are marked. You can take this information and use it to do better next time. You know what you struggle with, so work on it. There will be plenty more tests for you to ace in the future, but you won't be able to do so if you allow yourself to be put down by this one. I believe in you, Riddle; and I'm proud of you whether you get 100% or not."
Riddle was stunned by your words and ended up crying in your welcoming arms for a second time.
Anytime he would slip up and get angry, you'd gently calm him down and help him find a better solution than yelling.
Anytime the Equestrian Club would have a competition of some sort, you'd be in the front row of the crowd: camera in hand. Somehow, he could always hear your cheers over the rest of the crowd.
Riddle somehow got a button torn off his uniform jacket once, and you offered to fix it for him. The next day, you showed up to Heartslabyul bright and early in the morning (with the slightest dark circles under your eyes from staying up all night making sure your stitches were perfect) Jacket in hand.
He didn't realize until later in the day when he reached his hand in his pocket that you had left a little note. "Have a good day, Riddle! Good luck on your test! :)"
Anytime Riddle would have to call his mom, and inevitably be left upset afterwards, you'd always be there for him with your arms open.
"Oh" he thought, finally piecing his feelings together. That warm feeling in his chest every time you did something for him that showed him you cared. . .that's what it's supposed to feel like to be loved by a mother. Not cold and harsh. Soft and warm.
Nobody dares utter a word when they see the usually uptight Riddle not so discreetly looking for you after class on test days: 100% score in hand. Nor do they utter a word when they see how excited he looks when he finally finds you and shows you the test. And they certainly don't say anything when you get away with ruffling his hair and giving him a soft hug.
"I'm proud of you, Riddle." This is a sentence his real mother has never once uttered to him, at least not genuinely. It's come to the point that any time he hears those words he can't help but feel inadequate. That's what his mother always made him feel when she said those words in that ingenuine tone of hers.
But when you said it?
When you said it in that oh-so-gentle tone with that oh-so-genuine smile. . .
Riddle felt love
He finally felt like someone was truly proud of him, and he was proud of himself too.
He accidentally calls you mom once, but instead of looking at him disgustedly or yelling at him as he expected; your laugh flows airily through the air like a wind chime. It's not in a condescending way, but rather one that conveys a sense of fondness. You simply ruffle his hair and smile.

nobody gets me when i say daniel x oscar x reader but i need it desperately
“What's an Aussie kiss?”
Or, the story of how Mark Webber’s existence led to a series of very fortunate events.
Tumblr media
Warnings: smut, threesome, mention of alcohol, oral, brief anal play, the sloppiest two person blowjobs, just pure filth, anti FIA propaganda lmao, also bad dirty talk?
Being Daniel's ex-teammate, and current best friend, you knew a lot of Aussie slang.
And you'd learned even more upon becoming Oscar's teammate.
You were in a club, and for some godforsaken reason, you were squashed in between Mark and Oscar, with Daniel on the other side of the table in the small booth.
And then you'd met Oscar's manager Mark, and, well… whenever the three of them found themselves together, your head would start pounding within minutes of them starting a conversation.
“F1 has gone soft!” Mark slurred, already halfway into a coma. “And it wasn't even that long ago that we could swear freely and make dirty jokes without FIA cunts breathing down our necks!”
His drink sloshed around his glass as he spoke, and you managed to dodge the spills despite being in the splash zone.
Daniel laughed and added “Yeah, you couldn't talk about Aussie kisses nowadays without being fined!”
The three of them laughed freely, taking sips of their drinks.
Everyone had seen the famous clip of Mark.
Unfortunately, you had not. And that delightful little nugget had never come up in conversation before.
So you turned to Mark, and drunkenly asked “What's an Aussie kiss?”, much to the delight of your two fellow drivers.
“You'll find out when you're older, kid” he smirked and you scoffed.
When he tried to get up to order more drinks, he swayed so badly that Daniel had to catch him to avoid him falling onto the table.
“Okay old man” he chuckled “let's get you an uber while you're still conscious”
He led Mark through the crowd towards the exit, leaving you and Oscar to laugh at their retreating figures.
“He's such a lightweight” Oscar giggled.
"You're one to talk!” you slapped him on the shoulder “Your cheeks are redder than a fucking Ferrari”
“Oh yeah?” he smiled at you, “At least I know what an Aussie kiss is” he bit his lip teasingly.
The way he said it made a shiver run down your spine. Despite not knowing what it meant, you felt the urge to ask him to show you.
You were suddenly very aware of how close you were, and the heat of his thigh against yours made your stomach clench.
You cleared your throat, breaking the awkward tension and took a shy sip of your drink.
“Don't suppose you’re going to tell me, are you?”
He chuckled and bumped his knee against yours under the table.
“Like the old man said, you'll find out when you're older” he teased.
Even though there was only a year between you two, you always felt like he was the mature one of the team. The older and wiser teammate.
You found that quite attractive, if you were fully honest. And with the amount of alcohol in you system, you definitely wouldn't hesitate to say so if asked the question.
“Fine, I'll just ask Daniel, I'm sure he would be happy to show me”
Oscar rolled his eyes dismissively, absolutely hating the idea of you going to someone else, just as Daniel stepped back into the booth and sat down where Mark had been a few minutes before.
His thigh was now firmly pressed against you, and you suddenly felt very overwhelmed by their presence.
“Dannyyy” you whined “Oscar won't tell me what an Aussie kiss is!”
Daniel just laughed.
“That's because he probably doesn't have much experience in that domain. I on the other hand-“
“Uh, actually I have more than you think!” Oscar interrupted and Daniel grinned at him.
“Sure you do Piastri, but I’ve had at least a decade of practice more than you so-“
Oscar scoffed and gave him the finger.
“Guys!” You slapped the table to grab their attention. “Just tell me and I’ll be the judge!”
Oscar hesitated. He was slipping into dangerous territory right now.
He was very attracted to you, and would love nothing better than to spend the night showing you his uhh… kissing abilities.
But you were all far too drunk to make any rational decision making, and Daniel's presence was making him uneasy.
Not to mention you were his teammate and friend.
Daniel was thinking along the same lines. You were his drunk best friend, and the last thing he wanted to do was take advantage of you.
“I'll tell you what” he piped up. “If you ask again when you're sober, we'll show you”
They nodded at each other. They both wanted you, but they needed you to be clear headed.
There was absolutely no chance you would remember this tomorrow, so this was their safest bet.
You warily agreed, and the subject was quickly changed.
What they didn't know, is that that night, before you went to bed completely hammered, you set a reminder on your phone.
“lok up Ausie Kiiis on gogle”
Well, at least it was readable to you the next day.
And you did look it up. And found the video of Mark, which made you laugh.
But as the night before came flooding back in your mind, you remembered Daniel's offer.
They wanted you. They wanted to do that to you.
Butterflies erupted in your stomach as the thought of the two of them between your legs made you gasp. Yep, it had to happen.
Daniel and Oscar really thought they were out of the woods when they didn't hear from you all day. But then, in the evening came a text from a group chat you'd created with the two of them.
There was a screenshot of the urban dictionary result, and few simple words that made both men twitch in their pants.
“Instructions unclear, demonstration necessary. Room 312”
Oscar being only a few rooms away in the same hotel meant that he got there within two minutes of his phone buzzing.
As soon as you opened the door your were lifted by your thighs and carried over to your bed.
He crawled over you, not giving you so much as a hello before he captured your lips in a bruising kiss.
He was going to make the most of Daniel’s delay.
You couldn’t help but gasp into it when you felt his hands wandering over your body teasingly, making quick work of your outer layers.
“Jesus Osc” you panted as his lips travelled downwards, sucking and nipping at the skin of your neck. “If you were this desperate to touch me you could have just asked”
He grunted into your skin, continuing his descent and leaving soft kisses over your barely covered breasts.
“Didn't know you'd be into it too.” He mumbled “I didn't want to make anything awkward”
Any response you had quickly died on your tongue when you felt a fingers brush against your clothed cunt.
“Soaked through your panties already?” he chuckled darkly, rubbing against you with more pressure.
You blushed, hips bucking against his hand.
“Please, Oscar” you whimpered into your hands that were covering your face.
“Please what?” he teased, sliding a finger under the fabric and ghosting it over your sensitive skin.
“Fuck me, please” you whined.
He laughed softly. “But darling, that's not why you invited me here, is it? And in any case I think we should wait for Daniel, don't you?”
You huffed impatiently.
“If you're that wound up, why don't you come here and let me use that pretty mouth of yours, hmm? It'll give you something to do while we wait…”
Daniel almost broke his neck by tripping in the stairs while running as fast as he could to get to you.
When he wrenched the door to your room open he scoffed at the sight of you on your knees at the foot of the bed.
“Couldn't even wait for me, could you. Bastards…”
He ripped his shirt off and made his way over to the bed.
“I had to shut her up somehow, she's so fucking needy” Oscar pulled you off his cock and helped you to your feet.
Daniel cooed and leaned down to kiss you, and expertly unclasped your bra while Oscar dragged your underwear down your legs.
The kiss with Daniel quickly turned filthy, and he walked you slowly towards the bed and pushed you down on it.
“So who gets first dibs?” Oscar asked, eyeing your body and smirking at the goosebumps appearing on your flesh as you gazed up at the two men.
“How about Oscar first, since he was gentlemanly enough to wait till you got here?” you offered and they shrugged in agreement.
“Works for me, that way I'll get to prove I'm better afterwards”
You and Oscar both rolled your eyes at Daniel's statement, and the younger man quickly spread your legs and kneeled in between them.
You were dripping already, and at the first swipe of his tongue through your folds, Oscar thought he'd died and gone to heaven.
He groaned, lapping up your juices, and then alternated between fucking you with his tongue and circling it around your sensitive clit.
You were moaning freely, gasping at every change of pace and pressure.
There was definitely no denying it, he knew what he was doing.
When he sucked on your clit your back arched, letting out whiny little moans as he made your legs tremble in no time, your thighs trying to close around his head.
Daniel, despite not touching you, was having the time of his life.
He was sitting next to you on the bed, and from this angle he could see every tremor, every micro-expression as you writhed under Oscar's undeniably skilled mouth.
You were exquisite in his opinion, and he hungrily watched your breasts heaving as you tried to catch your breath after Oscar made you come all over his face.
The younger man licked his lips hungrily as he stared up at Daniel, eyes challenging him to do better.
You barely got any reprieve before Daniel was pushing Oscar out of the way and bending your legs at the knees.
“Hold yourself open for me, darling”
You did as you were told, and looked down at him while he nosed along the crease of your inner thigh.
He pushed his tongue inside you, and you let out a gasp when his nose brushed against your clit as he moved.
The tip of his nose was quite cold, and the difference in temperature was surprisingly pleasurable.
But Daniel didn't plan on staying there for long, he'd come to win, even if that meant playing dirty.
He gave your clit a teasing suck before releasing it with a pop, and slowly, his tongue made its way lower, exploring your taint, and eventually making contact with your tight rim.
The new feeling made you shudder, and he brought a hand up to thumb at your clit in a steady rhythm while he worked his tongue against your ass.
Your nails were digging into your own thighs where you were holding them open, and a quick glance at Oscar's expression told you he was not happy, despite being obviously turned on.
Once Daniel could feel you loosening, he prodded his tongue inside you a little, and the sensation was so foreign to you it forced a shaky moan from your throat.
You felt Daniels smirk against your skin and he quickly retracted his tongue, and slowly made his way back up.
You were rapidly approaching the edge now. And the renewed attack of his mouth on your cunt was promising a spectacular finish.
Then you felt a slight pressure lower down.
He was rubbing his thumb against your asshole, aided by your dripping juices.
He applied some pressure, and his thumb easily slipped inside, carefully massaging your walls while his tongue lapped at your clit hungrily.
It took you seconds.
You came with a loud cry as you arched your back, riding out the waves of your intense orgasm, through which Daniel helped you gently by slowing down his movements until you were shaking under him.
He sat up and grinned at you from above.
“So? Who was better?”
“That's not fair, you cheated!” Oscar huffed indignantly.
“I did not! It isn't specified how low we're allowed to go”
“But you used your fingers! I didn't”
“Well yeah, you gotta make use of all your assets” he wiggled his brows.
They looked at you expectantly.
“If one of you isn't inside me in the next 30 seconds I am kicking you both out” you muttered at the ceiling.
They chuckled and shuffled around the bed.
You ended up on top of Oscar, sinking down on his surprisingly thick cock while Daniel sat next to Oscar's head.
You leaned down to take him into your mouth and he grabbed your hair in his fist in a makeshift ponytail.
“So eager to please, isn't she Oscar? I think we’ve struck gold with this one”
Oscar started thrusting into you slowly, and your deep groan around the cock in your mouth made Daniel mad with need as he watched you take him down eagerly.
He then noticed Oscar was eyeing his cock with something akin to hunger in his eyes.
“You look jealous, Oscar” he teased. “Fancy a taste?”
He pulled you off him, and Oscar licked at his tip teasingly.
You didn't feel like stopping though, so soon Daniel had two mouths on his cock, licking and sucking at his shaft.
“Jesus Christ, you two are so fucking hot, what the fuck”
You and Oscar worked in tandem, lips making brief contact as you made out with the cock between you.
It was truly a porn worthy performance and Daniel could feel his composure slipping.
“Fuck- stop, I'm gonna come too soon”
He pulled you off and shuffled backwards, taking a quick breather, and Oscar laughed meanly.
“The old man's gonna come first, that's funny”
He was obviously just goading Daniel, but the evil glint that suddenly appeared in the older man's eyes as he got an idea made his stomach churn.
“Wanna swap then?” he grinned, and Oscar nodded eagerly.
Daniel lay down so you could climb on top of him, rolling your hips slowly to get used to the slightly lengthier cock, and Oscar kneeled next to him, mirroring the position from before.
You took him down to the base first, the taste of your own slick making your eyes roll back in your head, and Oscar couldn't resist thrusting into your mouth a few times.
“Fuckin’ hell, why were we arguing over who's better when her mouth is clearly superior”
He gasped when you swallowed around him and used your tongue to trace the underside of his cock.
Then you let him go with a pop, and looked at Daniel with a smirk.
The two of you got to work, worshipping Oscar's cock with your mouths and he marveled at the sight.
But then Daniel decided he needed to prove his superiority.
He licked down the vein on the underside, slowly inching towards Oscar's balls.
He licked over them, and took one into his mouth, gently sucking on it just to make Oscar lose his mind.
“Jesus, Daniel… fuck-“
With Daniel working wonders down there, and you making your way up his body, currently scraping your teeth over one of his nipples, he was scared of coming before he'd even had a chance to savour the experience.
Daniel huffed under him, drawing his attention.
Apparently his tongue could just about reach behind Oscar's balls, but the position didn't allow him to go any further.
“Sit on my face”  Daniel panted.
“What?” Oscar squeaked, sure he'd misheard.
“You heard me, come here”  he slapped Oscar's thigh to get him to move.
Oscar didn't hesitate for long, he swung a leg over Daniel's head and hovered, facing you as he bit his lip to hide just how aroused he was at the idea.
Daniel wrapped his arms around Oscar's thighs and slammed him down onto his eagerly waiting mouth.
Oscar let out a high pitched moan and had to stabilise himself with a hand on Daniel's chest.
You grabbed his hair and pulled him in for a rough kiss.
Daniel somehow had the dexterity to pound into you from below while eating Oscar out like his life depended on it, and all the two of you could do was pant into each other's mouths as Oscar came untouched all over Daniel's chest and his own hand.
He crawled away, and Daniel grabbed your waist to pull you down onto his cock while he rolled his hips up into you.
“You close, beautiful? You gonna come all over my cock?”
You nodded desperately, the new angle and speed was making you cry out in pleasure as it built up rapidly inside you.
“Do it then, show Oscar what a good girl you are and come right now, baby”
How you managed to stay upright will always be a mystery. The force with which your orgasm washed over you was enough to make your voice crack and your vision go momentarily dark while you rode out the most intense pleasure you'd ever felt before.
While you waited for the feeling in your legs to come back, Oscar went to grab a washcloth to clean you all up.
You were lying on the bed, limbs akimbo while Daniel’s cum dribbled out of you.
“Remind me to thank Mark Webber” you said and the other two guffawed in disbelief.
“You want to thank him? What about us, we actually fucked you!”
You laughed. “You're right! Maybe I should ask Mark to fuck me!”
The other two groaned.
“Never say that again”
You all got into bed, you in the middle, facing Oscar while Daniel spooned you from behind.
“Well at least now I know” Daniel muttered.
“Know what?” you asked.
“That Piastri likes getting his ass ate” he chuckled and you burst out in a fit of giggles.
“Fuck you” Oscar groaned.
“In your dreams Piastri” Daniel chuckled.
“Next time, I'm fucking you”
“Ha!” Daniel laughed “As if !”
But you saw the defiant look in Oscar’s eyes.
You knew him in and out, he was not going to back down from a challenge.

This does still ignore that we don't have to choose one avenue or another when it comes to the intersectionality of this topic.
This post is about misandry being a bad "avenue" for sociopolitical analysis, not about "choosing one." you'd know that if you read the post.
I recognize in my experience as a latino that latina women don't experience the demonization that i do simply because of my gender.
and thats your fucking problem. First Of All you aren't even black so why are you here on my post on anti-blackness like this (and i did notice how you replaced all discussion of black people and anti-blackness with "poc" to get your nasty foot in). And second of yall YES THEY FUCKING DO. You really think being a woman of colour saves you from the racism you experience for their race in any meaningful way? You obviously a misogynist but you might actually be stupid too. Idk how long u lived as a woman or man but maybe go ask your grandma or sumn if being a woman made being latine easier. My exact problem w this misandry shit is how easily it becomes for you people to simply not think abt the women in your community and how obviously misogynistic it is to think their experiences of discrimination and violence must be softer than yours bc shes not a man. choke. moving on.
The darker you are, the more pronounced the fear surrounding you becomes, but it is also amplified by how masculine or feminine your gender expression is. I don't quite agree that "projected hypermasculinity" is the only cause of this.
i think its awesome that this non-black dude thinks he's in the position to explain colourism to me now. Also, I didn't say it was. You'd know that if you Read The Post.
for many poc, they are often in the cross hairs of white-enforced gender binaries. Many people in positions of power [even other poc] will use gender as a violent means to police us, often seeking to turn our own expression of gender against us.
you ever notice how in turning our gender expressions against us, there might be a pattern of projecting violence and aggression (traditionally masculine traits often praised in non-black people), that isnt actually there? This is masculinisation. This is racism. You'd know that, if you read. the post.
This intersection is important to acknowledge and I think very overlooked when poc trans macs like myself have been begging people to listen to us.
Ok. I'm a black i mean poc transmasc. Listen To Me! you are actively talking over what im sayin and barely listening bc it challenges the validity of misandry, a word that has apparently done soooo much for you, and me too obviously, given the nature of this post that you definitely read.
Also the section on adultification is sound. But very strange claim that "black people aren't actually masculine!"
Didn't say this. In fact i also very explicitly said black i mean poc adults also experience adultification. Try reading the post again, and applying my logic that you say is so sound.
Like???????? What about those who are? I have black transmasc friends who have extremely different experiences than my black trans femme friends and I can tell you that it absolutely is about gender there.
thats crazy. you're gonna bring black i mean poc transfemmes into this when the murder statistics for black transfemmes look like this? i wonder what happened there... i thought femininity was supposed to protect femmes from racislised violence...
Everything intersects with race in these conversations of course but there are those of us who are trying to communicate more nuanced experiences.
so sick of yalls "but my unique experiences!!" whinging. fuckin grow up n read a book. you arent the main characters. there are socio-political forces above you shaping our oppression and i am talking about those! i'm not your mother!!! think abt society outside of your feelings for 5 seconds n then get back to me!!!
ALL men benefit from patriarchy just as ALL white people benefit from white supremacy just as ALL cis people benefit from cisnormativity just as ALL rich people benefit from poverty. you think you're being intersectional but you aren't! you're just absolving your ability to perpetuate or benefit from a certain system in your own mind because you too are marginalised. being a man does not create a unique intersection with your race because men, unilaterally, are not oppressed for being men, no, not even sometimes, no, not even when you're black i mean poc or gay or broke or trans. and you can still benefit from misogyny against the women who are just like you.
Masculinity does not equal power.
Yeah ok. neither does whiteness or cisness or money or nun. nothing equals power cuz anyone can be oppressed for any reason. get fucking real.
There is the similarity of not equating feminity with powerlessness.
erm actually... you're the real misogynist for noticing how women are systemically disempowered by men instead of uplifting femininity (by refusing to acknowledge that women are systemically empowered by men) I Am Very Smart.
And Finally, lets talk about these tags a mo.
Tumblr media
"white" "american" and i am very explicitly neither white or american. easy to guess from the way i write this post. easier to confirm from looking at my god damn bio. and thats how i know you arent serious bc you really think only white americans utilise male privilege as a concept? yk the feminist you haphazardly snatched "intersectionality" from was a black woman explicitly naming the way that the misogyny she experienced from black i mean poc men and the racism she experienced from white women was rendered invisible by both groups failing to acknowledge the intersection she had of being both black and a woman? of course not. you're an idiot.
"black people are seen as hyper-masculine and face a lot of violence for it, so yes you can be oppressed for seeming or being masculine"
AHT!! lets talk! black people are not actually hyper-masculine. hyper-masculinity is a projection by people trying to justify anti-black fear and violence. it is not a true and then demonised observation about black existence. the hyperfocus on the masculinity of black people is itself racism!
when you call this issue of racism anti-masculinity or misandry or whatever, you are obfuscating the bigotry at play. ESPECIALLY given that it is overwhelmingly just white women's fear about black people's supposed hyper-masculinity that actually gets listened to & acted upon.
in addition, there are other addendums people tack onto their anti-blackness that completely cause this logic to fall apart when applied. Namely, adultification! black people, black children get adultified by white society.
We are assumed to be older & more independent, and thus less in need of the safety, care, sensitivity, accommodation one would give to a child, and this results in violence and neglect. it is directly observable in the way black children are more likely to get detention, suspended or expelled for the same behaviour as their white peers, s/a rates for black youth, and the arguments that 40 y/o cops give for brutalising & murdering black 20, 16, 12, 8 year olds who so much as breathe in their line of sight.
Given this then, following the misandry logic, we can say being recognised as older or as an adult is a form of oppression.
"black people are seen as older/more mature and face a lot of violence for it, so yes, you can be oppressed for seeming like or being an adult"
we can for the sake of this post name this oppression adultery.
i kid. but do you see the problem. being recognised as an adult is obviously, not itself a form of oppression, in fact quite the opposite, being recognised as adult can grant you a lot of privileges that children do not have.
and black kids are evidently, not adults or people who act like adults. they dont mature faster. black 18 y/os will also face the problem of adultification to justify violence against them. black maturity is not a true and then demonised observation about black existence. the form of oppression is racism, and adultification is the deployed means of enacting racism.
the means of combatting the adultification of black people would not come in creating adult positivity or "advocating" for adults or telling children not to fear adults. it comes in the form of learning about anti-blackness, unlearning anti-blackness, and actually directly combatting anti-blackness.
similarly the means of combatting the hyper-masculinisation of black people comes in the form of learning about anti-blackness, unlearning anti-blackness, and actually directly combatting anti-blackness.
Racism explains both of this phenomena far better than "misandry" ever could.

“Maybe you should take tonight to rest instead of meeting up with your friends, pip-squeak. You’ve been coughing all day.”
Caleb phrased it like a suggestion but you took it for what is was. Some things never change and his bossy tendencies was one of them. You had no intention of staying in tonight, cold or not— you promised Kevi you would help him and Zayne was waiting for you to bring the boy to him so he could be smuggled out of Skyhaven before the fleet found him.
As much as you wanted to trust your brother, there was something nagging at you that he was a different Caleb than the one you grew up with. You weren’t sure whose side he would take— yours or theirs should it be found out that you are secretly suspicious of the Farspace Fleet and investigating them.
“You’re probably right,” you say, exaggerating a cough.
“I’m always right,” he teases. “Besides, Skyhaven is under lockdown tonight while the fleet conducts a clean up.”
He disappears further into the apartment and returns a few moments later with two white pills in the center of his palm. You eye the pills warily.
“Cough suppressants,” he reassures.
A weight leaves your chest. You must be feeling especially paranoid with the whole Mia and Kevi situation. You don’t trust the Fleet but Caleb would never put you in danger, despite what his orders were.
You truly believed that. He was just trying to look out for your well-being. Taking the cough suppressants would probably help with the worst of your symptoms tonight anyway.
“Thanks,” you accept the medication. Caleb watches you chase down the pills with a glass of water, a satisfied smile on his face. “Why the need for the lockdown?”
“I see you haven’t gotten any less nosy over the years,” he accuses playfully.
“And you haven’t gotten any less avoidant over the years,” you counter. Still, you continue to probe. “Is it classified?”
Huffing a laugh and shaking his head, Caleb cages you against the counter. His eyes dance playfully across your face, left hand coming up to cup your jaw. You find it a little odd, considering that he was right-handed but you quickly push it from your mind, heart racing at the feeling of his proximity. His thumb strokes your cheek, subtly checking your skin for a rise in heat to ensure you haven’t caught a fever. At least that’s what he tells himself, and it’s partially true, but really he just wanted an excuse to touch you again after nearly a year of missing the feeling.
“No, it’s not classified,” he eventually gives. It wouldn’t hurt to allow you this small bit of information. “A weird fluctuation in the tunnel is riling up the Wanderers. So teams are being sent out tonight to handle it. But it’s nothing you need to worry about because you’ll be resting. Right?”
Thankful for your years of training at the academy, you school your face though guilt wracks through you for the lie you were about to tell. Yes, you believed Caleb would always put your safety first, but you still didn’t know how involved he was in this situation with the kids. You couldn’t risk letting them down. If it turned out you were wrong and the Fleet really had their best interests in mind, then you would tell Caleb the truth once Kevi was out of Skyhaven.
“First of all, I’m a Hunter and eliminating Wanderers is my job. So of course it’s something for me to worry about,” you narrow your eyes defiantly.
The lop-sided smirk on his face only grows in amusement. He always got his entertainment out of picking fights with you and then making it up to you afterward. But things were different now. You were different now. You had to learn to survive without the safety net Caleb provided. He needed to take your job seriously and recognize that you were more than capable.
“Unfortunately though, you happen to be right about me needing to rest and get over this cough. I need to return to work next week and I would hate for a mild cold to keep me from my job.”
At the mention of returning to work, his face drops, lips pursing disapprovingly. Caleb never did like the idea of you going into such a hands-on, dangerous profession but Gran always kept him from interfering with your career too much. Now that she was gone, there wasn’t anyone to bat away the insane thoughts of keeping you locked up at bay. Truth be told, his reaction was less to do with your job now and everything to do with you leaving Skyhaven. Thankfully, those thoughts didn’t win out today as he nods, backing away and changing the subject.
The distance between you was back to feeling cold and empty.
“I need to get ready for my shift. I’ll make sure to say goodnight before I head out. Get some rest, pip-squeak.”
The way he went from hot to cold gave you the worst kind of whiplash. One minute he was playful and fun, and the next he was closed off and felt far away and unreachable, even more so than when he was “dead”.
You swallow down the painful lump in your throat as you watch the back of his white sweater disappear down the hallway to the guest room he had been staying in during your visit since you have been staying in his.
After going through your usual bed time routine so as to not make Caleb suspicious, you crawl into the large soft bed. Rolling over on your side, you cozy up to watch raindrops hit the floor-to-ceiling window as yet another storm dumps on Skyhaven. You had every intention of feigning sleep until Caleb left but somewhere along the way, your eyes grew so heavy that it was impossible to keep them open. You hadn’t even realized that you fell asleep and when you did, it was like being submerged in a warm, soothing bath that you couldn’t seem to come out of, falling into such a deep sleep that not even dreams or nightmares could touch you.
Tumblr media
Many hours later, an exhausted Caleb returns home. He doesn’t even bother shedding his damp uniform, leaving the OTTO unit to clean up the trail of water left behind from his soaked boots. He only has one destination in mind after a long night cleaning up the streets of his city.
Caleb pushed open his bedroom door a crack. Peering from beneath the bill of his uniform cap, his eyes dart over your sleeping form. He takes a moment to admire the sight of you curled up in his bed, waiting for him to return home from work. It was something he spent his entire adult life dreaming of and now it was a reality, even if wasn’t of your own doing. Very little was when it was left up to him.
He was trained to sus out lies in interrogation rooms and could read you better than a book. After all these years, you still had the same tells though you had gotten better at concealing them. To anyone else, you likely would have been the perfect little liar but he knew your face and your body language better than anyone, despite what your new little boyfriends thought.
Yeah, he knew about them.
It was his job to know things and above everything else, you were always his first priority of business. He had continued to keep a close eye on you after his recovery post-explosion. Even if the professor hadn’t assigned you to his charge as a secret mission, Caleb would have done it regardless. His Colonel rank only gave him more resources to keep tabs on you, even if that meant occasionally having to destroy certain types of evidence to keep you safe. There were some places you went where he wasn’t able to keep watch— the N109 Zone, specifically. But it didn’t take long for the Onychinus leader to show his face in Linkon City.
Sylus may have been wealthy and full of resources competing with his own that kept his identity unknown to most other government and military entities, but he was difficult to ignore when he started showing up everywhere you went in Linkon. Wasn’t exactly subtle in the way he was pursuing you, touching you like you belonged to him.
But he would be dealt with later.
Out of all of your admirers, there was one in particular that set Caleb’s teeth on edge and that was his former best friend.
It was no secret that Gran always pushed you and Zayne together which is why Caleb invited him into your bedroom in the first place. He wanted to make sure that Zayne understood the only way he would ever get to have you was because Caleb allowed it. For years, it would seem that he received that unspoken message, never making a move on you beyond the permission Caleb directed in those intimate moments. It didn’t take long for the doctor to take advantage of your loneliness though, to swoop in and be your shoulder to cry on in his absence.
If any of your boyfriends deserved the Farspace Colonel’s wrath, it was Zayne.
This was personal.
Now that you knew the truth of Caleb’s life, there was no reason to continue to sit back and watch those four continue to take what was his. You didn’t need anyone else when you had him.
Caleb pushed the thoughts of those other men out of his mind, not wanting to spoil this rare moment he had to watch you in person again, comfortable and pliable in his sheets.
Just like when you were younger, the blanket was tossed to the side with one leg in and one leg out like your body couldn’t decide whether it was hot or cold. This gave Caleb a view of your body, his familiar oversized aviation tee that you had stolen years ago covering you. He can’t believe you still had it, and wore it regularly by the look of the thinning material. It rode up your torso, teasing a view of your stomach. The temptation to keep his hands to himself is impossible as a leather gloved finger traces the hem of your sleep shorts.
Caught in his thoughts, he’s thrown back to your sophomore year of college. He was in his last year of pilot training but made the trip from Skyhaven to Linkon as often as he could to see you. One particular weekend, he surprised you with with a visit and you surprised him with a positive pregnancy test. He was over the moon, thinking of the best way to break the news to Gran and trying to convince you to finally let him put a ring on your finger. Not that he needed your permission because he wouldn’t accept no for an answer, but hearing you say yes of your own accord would be ideal.
Yes, you were both young but he’s loved you for as long as he could remember and spending your lives together was always the plan. Not to mention, he’s been looking for a way to convince you to stay out of the Hunter’s Academy for years— a baby was the perfect reason to keep you off of such a dangerous career path. You didn’t need to risk your life when he would always be there to take care of you. Both of you.
That all came crashing down when you miscarried just a few days later.
He was devastated.
You were relieved.
Your relief broke his heart and made him angry, feeling like he was grieving the loss of your baby alone but he would never expect you to carry the burden of his pain so he kept it to himself. Regardless, he hadn’t let go of his plan for your life together; the timeline would merely be pushed back a little. He’d been patient for years at this point. A couple more wouldn’t hurt.
That was, until the explosion that left him dead to the world and confined to a bed during his recovery. For a while, he let go of that silly dream, content to watch you live your life from afar while he kept you safe from the clouds above. But now that you knew the truth and were back in his life, he felt a flicker of hope return.
Pushing the t-shirt further up your body, he hunches over to press a trail of soft wet kisses across the skin, imaging what you’ll look like swollen and heavy with his baby.
“I’m going to put another one inside you one day,” he continues peppering his lips over your stomach then resting his forehead there as his cap rolls off his head to land on the mattress. “This is my vow. As soon as I deal with the professor and we’re both safe, we will finally have the life we were always meant to, pip.”
You begin to stir under his touch, the feeling of his soft damp tendrils brushing your skin, tickling you even so deep in your sleep. The soft gasp of his name on your sleepy lips is enough to make him harden uncomfortably in his uniform pants, the starchy material leaving very little growing room. He can’t help but to bury his face in between your legs, inhaling the familiar scent of you with a shudder. It’s enough to leave the rational part of his mind behind, the last shred of his self-control slipping since your arrival as he pulls your sleep shorts down and tosses them to the side along with his jacket and gloves.
Caleb palms himself through the now unbearably tight pants before unzipping them for some relief. Kneeling back onto the bed, he carefully shoulders his way between your thighs, admiring the sight of your beautiful pussy and inhaling you again, feeling a sense of home for the first time in nearly a year. The temptation was too much to resist.
Just one taste.
That was all he needed to get by until he could convince you that this is where you belonged.
With him.
Knowing you wouldn’t wake up with the pills he fed you earlier, he flicks out his tongue to lightly spread your folds, teasing himself with the hint of your comforting flavor. He hadn’t completely lied about the nature of the pills— they would certainly heal up that cough of yours but would knock you out for a solid 12 hours before you came out of it. They basically put the consumer into a temporary coma to encourage a quickly healing process. The medication was not available for public consumption, reserved only for fleet members who needed a quick recovery but his rank gave him access that most others did not have.
Earlier, he had felt guilty for deceiving you but reminded himself that you were lying about staying in to rest and likely intended to sneak out once he was gone. He couldn’t have you wandering around Skyhaven alone at night without his protection. Not to mention, he never would have been able to do this if he hadn’t pushed you to take the medicine.
Your flavor explodes on the tip of his tongue, causing his hips to jerk into the mattress as he throws your legs over his shoulders to deepen his kiss to your center. Licking through the seam, he seeks out your clit, teasing and sucking it between his lips until you’re swollen and slick, gushing around his mouth with sleepy sighs and moans as you came on his tongue. Even if you wouldn’t remember it, he needed to make you orgasm, missing the feeling of you falling apart beneath him as if a piece of himself had been missing for ten long months.
This was the most alive he’s felt since he died.
Rising to his knees, chest rising and falling in heavy pants with your essence coating his chin, Caleb pulls his hard cock free. His head falls back in ecstasy as his hand cradles his girth. With you lying there and the lack of feeling in his right hand, he could almost pretend you were the one tugging on it, bringing him to the brink.
“Fuck, pretty girl. Missed you so damn much,” he pants, left hand climbing up your soft thigh to thumb your slick clit again. He had always been addicted to touching you, but now it was like going on a bender after getting sober and he couldn’t get enough.
Surprising himself with the quickness of his orgasm, he spurts all over you with a pained groan. Ropes of white coat the inside of your thighs and stomach, and he can’t tear his eyes away. When there’s nothing left to give, he slumps down, admiring the sight of his claim. Heart pounding in his chest, another intrusive thought invades his mind, bouncing off of the walls of his skull until he gives into the compulsion. Scooping the spend up with his fingers, he carefully stuffs you full of it, your pussy sucking them in like it was welcoming him home.
Slicking back his damp hair, Caleb feels like the storm clouds of his mind have been temporarily settled, allowing him to think clearly again. Guilt once again floods him as he thinks about what he’s done, always at war with himself when it came to you. He busies himself with cleaning you up and redressing you, ensuring to leave no tangible evidence of what he had done behind. Only the knowledge that he had left a piece of him behind for you to take back home with you.

"i came to see my daughter." andy bent down and looked at abby. "hi there princess."
"how did you find me, andy?" y/n was reaching for her phone. "i left you behind for a reason. not for you to come follow me here."
"i have my ways, y/n." he was standing straight up now, over a foot taller than y/n. she was always intimidated by him and it worried her. "aren't you gonna invite me in?"
"you shouldn't be here, andy." y/n slowly inched her way to the door while clutching abby behind her. she handed her daughter the keys and stood by her while she unlocked the door. when abby made it inside, y/n closed the door and faced andy again. "you really should go."
"look, i know i was a terrible person in the past. but i've changed. honestly."
"i don't believe you. now please leave."
"i'm serious, y/n. what can i do to prove it to you?"
"that's up to you to figure out." she sighed and turned back towards her door.
"y/n, wait up." quinn called from down the hall. he jogged up to y/n, not registering that she wasn't alone. "i grabbed a puck for abby."
"you didn't have to do that, quinn."
"it was your first game and it's the game winning puck." he handed her the puck with care. "i don't know if you remember, but-"
"it's the game winning puck from the game winning goal that you scored." she looked up at quinn and smiled.
andy, who couldn't stand there quietly anymore, cleared his throat. "babe, aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?"
"no. i don't think i want to." y/n opened her door slowly but stopped when she heard andy continue the conversation with quinn.
"hey man. i'm y/n's boyfriend, andy. and you are?"
"quinn." he looked between y/n and andy with a raised eyebrow. "wait, boyfriend?"
"ex-boyfriend." she turned to face him. "he's abby's father."
"oh. okay." quinn stuck his hands in his pockets. "well, it was nice to meet you, man."
"no. no it was not." y/n shook her head then pointed a finger at andy. "i think it's time you left now."
"alright. but i'll be back tomorrow." he kissed her cheek and walked down the hall.
y/n headed into her apartment and, unsurprising to her, quinn followed. he set his hockey bag by the door and looked at her.
"are you alright?"
"of course. why wouldn't i be? it's not like it's an everyday thing where your toxic ex shows up on your doorstep months after you decided to get as far away from him as possible." she looked at quinn. "i'm sorry you had to see him."
"i'm sorry i didn't ask you guys to stick around the arena after the game. this could've been avoided."
"don't blame yourself, quinn. you are a good person. and the EXACT opposite of that jackass." she chuckled dryly and turned the puck over in her hands. "i can't believe i fell for that man years ago. i was so stupid back then."
"no, you were a teenager in love. it happens to us all." quinn crossed the kitchen to come stand in front of y/n. "plus there's a bright side to your relationship."
"i supposed there is. if i didn't need to get away from him so badly, i never would've moved here and never would've met you." y/n smiled up at quinn.
"well, i was thinking about abby. but yeah. this friendship is another bright side i suppose."
"of course abby is the brightest side to it. she's my baby girl." y/n glanced down the hallway and sighed. "whenever i think of how horribly i was treated in the past, i look at abby and everything i went through before her seems totally worth it."
"i agree. she's an amazing little girl."
"she loves you, ya know? sometimes i think she loves you more than she loves me."
"no she doesn't. she could never. you're her mother and that's an immediate win over everyone else."
"thanks, quinn. not just for everything tonight. but everything you've done for me since we met. i owe you huuuuge for it all."
"it's not a problem. you're my best friend. i'm just happy making you happy."
"awe quinn." y/n smiled and slid him a glass of water. "i'm really thankful for you."
"as am i for you." he smiled and sipped the water. "it's getting late so i should head out. if andy bothers you tomorrow, do not hesitate to text me. i'll be over here in a second. do you understand me?"
"yes sir." y/n smiled and walked with quinn to the door. "see you later, quinn."
when the door was closed, y/n kept replaying quinn's words over in her head.
i'm just happy making you happy.
why was he so perfect for her and why did he have to come into her life when she was still in the middle of healing herself?
she threw herself down on her bed and groaned loudly. abby, who was sitting in her own room, walked in. "are you okay?" she asked.
"oh, honey. i'm fine. just thinking about some stuff." y/n turned to face her daughter. "come here." she made room for abby to join her on the bed. "i'm sorry about your dad. he shouldn't have just shown up."
"it's okay." abby smiled and looked at her hands. "what do you have there?"
"oh. quinn grabbed it for you. it's the puck that he won the game with." y/n handed it to her. "and he even signed it for you. how thoughtful."
"I love quinn. he's so much fun."
"more fun than me?"
"of course not, mama. you're the funnest."
"i love you, munchkin."
"i love you too. always and forever."
y/n smiled as abby slowly drifted off to sleep. she didn't even bother moving her from the bed and taking her to her own room. instead, she just cuddled her close and fell asleep with her daughter by her side.
the next morning when y/n woke up, she was expecting to have a text from her boss asking her to come into work on her day off. but when she rolled over to check it, there was nothing from him.
there was, however, a text from andy that was received nearly 40 minutes ago. see you in about an hour, it read. she groaned and turned her phone upside down so she didn't have to look at it any longer.
before she had a chance to get out of bed and decide how she was going to avoid andy for the day, there was a knock at the door. abby opened her eyes and y/n got out of bed to answer the door. quinn stood on the other side with a big smile on his face.
"good morning." he leaned against the wall. "i was just about to head out to breakfast and wanted to see if you lovely ladies would like to join me."
"that sounds like a great idea." y/n grinned. it was the perfect excuse to avoid andy. "as long as we can get ready and leave within the next 10 minutes."
"well, you look good right now so it shouldn't take too long."
ignoring the sudden intense burst of butterflies in her stomach, y/n kindly smiled at him. "thanks. but it's abby i'm more worried about. she doesn't like getting her hair brushed. and i don't want to argue with her in such a short amount of time."
"want me to try?"
"you?"
"yeah. i've been told i have an amazing gift when it comes to reasoning with children."
"okay. then, be my guest." y/n closed the door when quinn stepped in. she followed behind him as they headed down the hall to abby's room. just as quinn was about to open the door, y/n ushered him to the next door. when he gave her a raised-eyebrow look, she explained. "she slept in my room last night."
"oh okay." he opened the door and abby, who was sitting up in the bed, rushed off the mattress to give quinn a hug. "hey, sweetheart. i'm taking you girls out for some breakfast. but your mom tells me you don't like getting your hair brushed in the morning."
"i don't. i hate it."
"understood." he chuckled and bent down to her level. "how about this...if you let one of us do your hair in 5 minutes, we can go to the store and pick out a toy, or whatever else you want to do."
"a toy sounds nice." abby smiled and looked at her mom. "can quinn do my hair?"
"that's up to you. but you gotta get dressed in 5 minutes." y/n smiled as abby nodded and ran to her room. she then turned to quinn. "can you do hair?"
"i'm a natural, as you can tell." he smirked and gestured vaguely to his own hair, which only looked like he crawled out of bed and ran his hands through it a few times. but yet, she had faith he would make abby's hair look amazing.
"okay. i trust you." y/n smiled and walked out of the room. "abby, quinn's gonna do your hair while i get dressed, alright, sweetie?"
"okay." abby walked out and dragged quinn to the bathroom.
y/n got dressed and smiled. she had only known quinn for a month and he was already a better father figure to abby than andy was. and it scared her just how close abby had gotten to quinn.
now with andy in their lives, y/n had no idea if they would have to leave to get away from him again. and the idea of severing her daughters connection with quinn, felt like a knife to her own heart.
5 minutes later, y/n was standing in the doorway of the bathroom as quinn gently and calmly brushed through abby's wild hair. he set the brush down and carefully braided it. when he was done, y/n just stared at him through the mirror. he looked up and caught her staring, causing him to smirk.
"what do you think?"
"i think you did a great job, quinn. better than i probably would've." y/n smiled and checked her phone. "okay. we ready to go?"
"absolutely." quinn grabbed one of abby's hands and she used her free one to grabb y/n's. to any outsider, they would look like a typical family. but that was far from the case.
the three of them ventured out to quinn's car and to nobody's surprise, they found it was parked next to y/n's. she reached in and pulled out abby's seat before carefully setting it up in quinn's backseat. she strapped abby in before climbing into her own. quinn shut her door and walked to the driver's side.
"what restaurant are we going to?" abby smiled and looked out the window.
"wherever you want to go." quinn glanced up in the rearview mirror and smiled while he listened to the places abby was listing off.
y/n looked out her own window and they were pulling out of the parking garage just as andy was getting out of his car. luckily, he couldn't see y/n because quinn's windows were tinted. but she saw him and he had a couple of bags hanging off his arms. she couldn't tell what they were but she had a feeling they didn't look like they were meant to be a good thing.
"you alright?" quinn asked as he drove.
"yeah i'm fine." she offered him a smile. "after breakfast, what are you doing?"
"i have no plans for the day. why?"
"would you maybe want to catch a movie with us? abby and i were planning to see that new animated movie-"
"we were?"
y/n ignored abby and looked at quinn "and since one of the restaurants are close to the theater, i figured we could kill two birds with one stone, right?"
"fair point, i suppose." quinn smiled. "of course i'd love to join you."
"great." y/n looked out the window and figured she could use the movie to stall as long as possible so andy would get tired of waiting and just leave.
at the restaurant, a little old couple walked by their table. the lady stopped and smiled.
"my, what a lovely family."
"thanks, but-" y/n began but quinn reached across the table to hold her hand.
"thanks. you guys are the goals we strive for."
"oh, did you hear that marvin? we're what the kids call 'couple goals'. isn't that cute?"
"yes mel. it's so wonderful to hear, darling." he grabbed her hand and as soon as they were out the front door, quinn let go of y/n's hand.
"sorry. i thought they were gonna judge if they found out you were a single mother that looked like she was on a date."
"times have changed, quinny." y/n smiled and watched the waitress bring their food to the table. as she was setting the plates down, she winked at quinn.
usually, he enjoyed what little female attention he got, this act made him uncomfortable. couldn't the waitress see he was with someone? instead of flat out rejecting her, he smiled kindly but focused his attention on y/n and abby as the waitress walked away.
"she was cute, quinn. seemed interest too."
"not my type, honestly." he just shrugged and pulled the top part of the wrapper off abby's straw for her.
abby thanked him before shoving one end of it in her mouth and blowing the rest of the wrapper directly at y/n's face. it hit her cheek and quinn laughed.
"who taught you how to do that?" y/n raised her eyebrow, knowing that it was probably quinn who taught it to her. her suspicions were confirmed when the two of them shared a look over the table that pretty much read 'oh. busted'. y/n just shook her head slowly and smiled. "thanks for that, quinn."
"you are most welcome." he replied just as sarcastically as y/n had. he watched as she looked out the window. her gaze went across the street to the movie theater. "everything okay?"
"huh? oh yeah. i'm just thinking what movie we're gonna see."
"i thought you said we were going to see the new animated one, mama."
"right. yeah we are."
quinn looked over at y/n while abby colored on the placemat. "hey, are you sure everything is okay? i don't want to pry but you've been a little off today."
y/n knew she couldn't hide around quinn. so she sighed and told him what she saw this morning. "i saw the devil as we were pulling out of the parking garage this morning."
"oh no. is that why you wanted to get out there as quick as possible?"
"yeah. he texted me this morning and said he was stopping by. i don't know if you know this but i have a hard time of saying no to him if we're left alone."
"if you want, we can come up with plans to make sure you have no time to spend around him while he's in town."
"i would love that, honestly. but i'm gonna have to face him eventually. i just didn't feel like doing it today."
"well after breakfast and the movie, we're going shopping. but after that, we could grab dinner & do whatever you want to do while we wait it out."
"thanks, quinn. i appreciate it."
the rest of the day went by smoothly. while they were shopping, quinn ended up buying abby whatever she asked for, even though he had only promised to get her one toy for getting ready fast this morning.
when they pulled into the parking garage, y/n couldn't see andy's car so she let out a breath.
"everything okay?"
"yeah. i think so. i don't see his car anywhere so he must not be here."
"well, let's head up and see if he's actually gone." quinn grabbed the bags from the trunk and followed the girls to the elevator. he kept an eye on them when they walked out onto their floor. andy was nowhere in sight.
"thanks for today, quinn. i needed a relaxing day."
"no problem. always happy to be here for you when you need help."
"i know." y/n smiled and let abby into the apartment. she stood in the hallway with quinn for a moment. both of them were silent for at least 2 minutes before quinn spoke.
"i should let you go and get abby ready for bed." he opened his door but turned around before heading in. "you go back to work tomorrow, right?"
"yeah. from 2 to just after midnight. why?"
"well, i was wondering if you wanted me to watch abby. i mean, i have a game and will be at the arena pretty much all day but i feel like it'll be a fun experience for her. you can come too, if you want. before you have to go."
"what time do you go to the arena?"
"9 in the morning."
"okay. i'll meet you there then. you sure it's okay with everyone that abby will be there?"
"oh yeah. she can sit on the bench during the morning skate & bella will be there during the game so she'll be in good hands."
"then you technically won't be watching her, will you?" y/n smiled, causing quinn's eyes to widen.
"technically, no. but i will be responsible for her. i promise she'll be in good hands all day. if you trust me."
"relax. i trust you, quinn." y/n squeezed his hand and smiled. "we'll see you in the morning."
"can't wait." quinn headed into his apartment while y/n went in hers. he couldn't help but think back about what just happened in the hallway. she really trusted him. it had been a while since anyone had put their trust in him the way y/n has the past month he's known her.
he couldn't wait to get to the arena in the morning.
