Vox x Niffty husband and wife theory AU (No specific name for this AU yet)
AU Concept:
(Main Plot)
- After Vox realizes Niffty was his ex-wife when he was alive, he finds her and [Needs to be filled out soon with more details of how this developed…]. And they run off together to protect her from the exorcists in future exterminations, due to the possibility that they might target her for being the one who killed Adam.
- Vox cuts off all his access and connections all around Pentagram to avoid getting tracked, blocking and deleting all his files of his security and files of their brand. And also giving up his power and position in the Vees. --Not realizing that he left the other two Vees in a bad postion for one of them.
(I have Fiyeraba fever from being in the Wicked fandom…. I also started imagining Vox and Niffty having an As Long As You’re Mine” moment in this AU. If you know, you know.)
(Subplots)
- In the past, the Vees had a mutual contract. --Which orignally started off with just Valentino and Vox (before Velvette landed in Hell, and became part of their business); Two contracts Vox made between him and Val;
1) "The Business Partner Contract": If Val wanted Vox's support to become an overlord, he has to forever work along side him as a business partner (which Valentino didn't mind. In fact things got intimate between him and Vox later on in those years). If Val were to ever leave their business, every soul he obtained would end up in Vox's hand and Val would fall back to the position of a regular sinner.
2) "The Successor Contract": If Vox ever steps down as the Vees' head, all his power, authority, and soul contracts shall be transferred to his most powerful "second in command".
(I don’t think contracts in Hazbin have names, but I named these two so I don’t confuse myself when referring to the separate contracts.)
- However, the contract wasn't worded well. Due to not planning a third in their group (Velvette) at that time they made the contract, the 2nd contract had very big loopholes and the 1st contract was not protected. So when Vox left the Vees, it left Velvette at a huge advantage, and Valentino at a disadvantage.
- Because of Val's profits plummeting at the studio (due to repetitive content), Velvette's side of the business had higher ratings. Making Velvette the "most powerful second in command" between the two. And by default, everything Vox had owned transferred to Velvette without error. All of his power and employees went to her, and every soul contract and bussiness contract magically replaced Vox's name with hers..... Including his business partner contract with Valentino.
- Long story short: Velvette went “Heather Duke”.
- Now that Velvette owned that business partner contract, she re-wrote it to her liking; Everything Val had was all hers now. Including Angel Dust, who Velvette took out of the porn studio and turned him into her number 1 model for her fashion shows. (She doesn’t care about Angel in that way, she just likes his body shape and thinks it’s being wasted, getting beaten up in snuff, when he could be modeling for six arm outfits instead.)—Angel was pretty confused, but wasn't going to look a gifthorse in the mouth. He's just glad he's finally out of the porn industry and still has a well-paying job (with an only slightly less shitty boss).
- She then demoted and placed Val in Angel's former position as the porn's industry's number one (whore) star, and turned Val’s studio into a more softcore focused films and occasional suggestive music videos. (Not because she’s nice, keep in that in mind. Softcore is just more of her style.)
- Valentino hated everything. Especially Vox (who he refused to admit, left him a little heartbroken...)
- Val now modeled sexy yet innocent clothing--types of clothes he already wears often but now, he has to pose in front of the camera with a shy and demure mask to match the 'aesthtic'. And to top it all off, since he was just "Angel's replacement", he was promoted the same way he used to promote Angel.
(Fr tho…. I headcannon that Velvette and Val aren’t really 100% buddy-buddy. They relate in some things like fashion and gossip but other than that, if Vox isn’t in the room discussing important stuff, you won’t see them talking to each other.)
.
.
.
.
.
(I know I know…! It’s ironic of me to say that this AU is Vox x Niffty focused, but say more plot for the Velvette & Valentino subplot. But, I ended up thinking about it more.)
I’m not a fashion expert, so sorry if the outfits I drew weren’t that good. (Velvette’s was just suppose to be inspired by all the Vees, to symbolize that she’s the head of each separate business now.)
Btw, Velvette changed their brand name from “The Vees” to “Lady Vee”. —Originally she was going to go with “Queen Vee”, but Val sarcastically commented that she might get copyrighted by the Gluttony Ring.

AO3 Wrapped 2024
Just doing this one for funsies — but any of my writer friends please feel free to participate! I like looking back on the year at the end of it.
This is sort of lengthy so I’m putting the questions under the cut!
1. How many words have you written this year? 194,581
2. How many works did you publish this year? 11
3. What work are you most proud of? I actually haven’t reread this even one time, so it might be terrible, who knows? But I think I’m proudest of “Make the Whole Place Shimmer.” It felt really daunting to write the Kanthony wedding in the Midnights series, but it was also sweet to “watch” them get married as this culmination of their love story. I don’t know if that’s silly, but it’s true. It made me feel really happy for them — even if they’re not real! 🤣
4. What work of yours has the most hits? “Get It Off My Desk”
5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? “Dear Reader”
6. Favorite title you used: I probably like “Karma is My Boyfriend” the best. Maybe because it’s a phrase that feels both happy and silly to me, and that’s the tone of the fic itself.
7. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most? 😆 it’s only Taylor Swift
8. Pairing you wrote the most this year? Kanthony exclusively, baby!
9. Favorite pairing you wrote this year? Kanthony
10. What work was the quickest to write? “A Step You Take” — I wrote it in two sittings from start to finish. That’s never happened before.
11. What work took you the longest to write? “Get It Off My Desk.” I started outlining it summer of 23 and kept trying to start it over and over again, but it’s like the story wasn’t ready because it never worked. I finally wrote it in the summer of 24.
12. How many WIPs do you have in your docs for next year? I think I only have 3 that I actually have outlines for, but I have like 3 or 4 other ideas that I wrote down and then abandoned… maybe they’ll make their way back to my mind one day?
13. What’s your longest work of the year? “Coming Home to Aubrey Hall” was literally a funny idea I had while decorating my Christmas tree and it was supposed to be like a silly two- or three-chapter fluff piece… and it’s turned into a monster!! 😂
14. What’s your shortest work of the year? “Love Dreams”
15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you? “Coming Home to Aubrey Hall” 😫
16. Your most-used additional tag: Probably “Modern AU” but I don’t know how to find that out.
17. Your favorite character to write this year? Newton!
18. The character that gave you the most trouble to write this year? Weirdly, Siena. I adore her, but I just couldn’t find her voice at first. I watched her scenes from season 1 over and over again to try and get it right.
19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year? As a writer, I’m really only interested in Kanthony at this point. As a reader, I’ve been diving into the Fiyeraba fandom! And with the new movie coming out next year, I don’t see my interest waning any time soon.
20. Which work of yours have you reread the most? I must have gone over “Karma is My Boyfriend” with a fine-toothed comb a thousand times because I needed all the moving pieces of their Valentine’s Day mishaps to fit together.
21. How many kudos total did you get this year? 2,185. Thanks guys 🥰
22. Which work has the most comments? “Dear Reader”
23. Did you do any collaborative works this year? My dear friend @mimix007 helped me so, so much a lot of these fics felt collaborative! ❤️ But not officially.
24. Did you write any gifts this year? I wrote two fics for @mimix007 😘 “Just Like Clockwork” and “Dear Reader.”
25. Did you receive any gifts this year? I remember that Allatonceyouaretheone wrote a fic inspired by “Just Like Clockwork” and that felt like a gift!!
26. What’s your most common category? F/M — if that’s what that means.
27. What do you listen to while writing? I’m not really a music-while-I-write person most of the time. Generally, I prefer some kind of white noise to help me focus. I like to write in public spaces for that reason — ambient noise is my favorite.
28. Favorite work you wrote this year? This is too hard. They’re all my babies.
29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year? Gosh. I don’t know. I remember that I had Newton call Anthony a “stray human” in “Just Like Clockwork,” and I really enjoyed that.
30. Biggest surprise while writing this year? Hmm… probably writing regency-era fics within the canon. Honestly, two years ago I didn’t consider myself a competent writer, so finding out that I could branch out beyond the one-trick of the Midnights AU was a really gratifying surprise.
Amount of comment threads in 2024: 711
Amount of times people subscribed to your fics in 2024: 391
Amount of words written in 2024: 194,581
Amount of kudos in 2024: 2,185
Amount of bookmarks in 2024: 388
Amount of hits you received in 2024: 50,720

I will agree with you that Fiyero is woefully underused in the musical, so we do have to use what we have to decipher what information we do have about him. Either way is headcanon.
However, this is what we get from act 1:
1) He is good at lying to people about who he is, all while being able to make himself likable
2) He is secretly unhappy and has been thinking about the day with the Lion Cub a lot
3) He takes the initiative to save Animals and help Elphaba, but in a way that doesn't immediately get them caught
With this in mind, along with his bitching in Thank Goodness and the fact that he immediately turns on the Wizard and runs off with Elphaba the moment he has a chance, I think it’s a much more plausible headcanon that he has always been working as a double agent than your headcanon that he’s decided instead to randomly embrace being a fascist.
“You're basing your interpretation of his character on speculation — because it is somewhat difficult, in some ways, to reconcile the compassionate boy we saw in the woods with the fascist commander he's become by Act II — but I'm basing my reading on sheer text; on the actions and statements on the page.”
Oh honey, you are so close!!! Maybe it’s hard to “reconcile the compassionate boy we saw in the woods with a fascist commander” because he isn’t one? Maybe if you “read by sheer text; on the actions and statements on the page” you’d realise that his actions in act one don’t make sense in act two if you read him as part of the regime? Are you sure you’re not “basing your interpretation of his character on speculation” because you don’t like Fiyeraba?
“Saying you'd totally join the Gestapo instead of the Resistance if given the chance — because of "resources and information" — is not the winning argument you think it is, I'm sorry, lol.”
Oh sorry, Fiyero should have just gone down to the resistance job shop and got a top post there! The resistance that, as far as we know, basically doesn’t exist, as it doesn’t seem like Elphaba has got much help either (we know there’s rebel Animals that shelter her, but she’s also at the point where she tries to beg her father for help and seriously considers just giving up and joining the Wizard). It is probably endlessly easier for Fiyero, especially with his connection to Glinda to get into the Gale Force.
You also completely ignored my second part of the argument. Someone has to do this job, if it’s not Fiyero it’s someone a lot worse. We know Fiyero has compassion for Animals, we know Fiyero wants to protect Elphaba (we literally see him doing so three times in act 2). If Fiyero places himself in command, however grim it might be, he now has some degree of control over Oz’s army and how much damage they can do to the Animals and Elphaba.
“None of which was REMOTELY planned, or even likely.”
It wasn’t planned that he’d meet her in the throne room, no, but it certainly was planned and relatively likely that, by putting himself as the head of the search for the Witch, that if she was found in a dangerous situation he could get her out of it. He manages to get all his guards away and for her to escape safely, he couldn’t have done this if he’d been in any other position.
If you’re talking about the wider context, no obviously Glinda taking over wasn’t planned from this. But you told me him being in the Gale Force achieved nothing, it saved Elphaba’s life and allowed the ending to happen.
“Yes, she was literally forced into that, lol. Claiming she wasn't forced into her position when she was literally captured and molded into an asset of the regime — and then moralizing about her trying to make the best out of her literal enslavement — whilst somehow insisting that Fiyero going out of his way to enlist as an armed servant of the regime wasn't "endorsing the regime", is actually absurd.”
Oh don’t you fucking dare. Don’t you patronise Glinda by saying she didn’t have a choice. Don’t you ignore those quotes I gave you showing how she enjoyed it. Even her sad verse in Thank Goodness imply she joined because she wanted it (and only later found out it wasn’t quite how she planned). No one was going to imprison her, (you think my headcanons are wild lol), in the movie she literally only went to follow Elphaba because Morrible told her to, in the play she was given a little more agency, but she still made it very clear she was going to “get her back”, there’s literally no reason at all to enslave her, even in their eyes she’s done nothing wrong.
But ok, let’s take your “enslavement” fantasy scenario. Fiyero is literally the next candidate for Morrible to “enslave”, she knows he and Elphaba were at least tentative friends, she might even have realised he was also absent after the day with the Lion Cub, he’s dating Glinda and his royal connections and fame and likeability make him a useful asset. If Morrible really is blackmailing people to join her on trumped up charges, it would be very easy for her to either use the Lion Cub situation to blackmail into it, or threaten to hurt Glinda if he does not.
Sounds far-fetched? Yeah, you’re right. He joined willingly. Like Glinda.
“He acted on spontaneous desire, as he always does, and is a nihilist who never gave a shit about any of the things (or people) he cast to the wind to begin with. "He lost everything" — and you expect me to find that brave and romantic, I take it? I don't. Throwing caution and care aside to run off and have a passionate night with the object of his affects isn't WRONG — and I've never said that it is — it's foolish and selfish and impulsive.”
This is headcanon.
This is canon: he pointed a gun at the Wizard to help Elphaba escape. He had to escape too. (Did they have to have sex in the woods? Obviously not, but that’s kind of not really here or there, the egg was already broken, might as well make an omelette).
“He doesn't think about the potential consequences of abandoning Glinda; for never cared about either his own safety or hers,”
I’m sorry, are you really blaming Glinda telling Morrible and the Wizard to spread a rumour about hurting Nessa on Fiyero? Talk about fucking victim blaming.
I’d argue he cares a lot about Glinda’s safety actually, it’s pretty telling that all three times he saved Elphaba in act 2 (funny, you haven’t mentioned that in your reply) he leaves Glinda in a place where she not only is safe but can’t possibly be seen as and arrested for supporting Elphaba. As for his own safety? Well he secures it in the throne room, by the cornfield scene he’s sort of out of options – so he gets his girls to safety and sacrifices himself – that’s not not knowing the consequences, it’s deciding he is ok with them.
“When he makes "plans", they're all very ad hoc and making resourceful use of situations that he absolutely did not (and could not) have planned for.”
Not the Elphaba faking her own death plan! That must have taken days as the scarecrow. And careful manoeuvring of everything involved!
“I think it's a bit sad that he behaves that way tbh: because it speaks to his pretty hollow existence, as Elphaba herself identified.”
Well I have happy news for you! He no longer has a hollow existence! That’s literally what act two is trying to tell us!
Elphaba: Fiyero, you frightened me. I thought, I though you might have changed.
Fiyero: I have... changed.
*
You’ve got me seeing through different eyes
Somehow I’ve fallen under your spell
and somehow I’m feeling it’s up that I fell
[Wicked Act II spoilers]
[edited for tone and clarity of purpose, apologies for initial crudeness and frustration]
Okay, obviously I'm biased, but I'm gonna need the Fiyeraba shippers to please set a lot of your people straight about some things. I've seen way too many people trying to say that Glinda is just a selfish bimbo and that Fiyero is a virtuous and selfless figure more worthy of Elphaba's love. I'll set aside for now the idea of "worthiness" in this context. But let's start off with Fiyero joining the Wizard. Hoo boy...
Yes, he was initially somewhat less tolerant of the propaganda against Elphaba than Glinda was; yes, he was secretly trying to find her so he could run away with her or whatever. But honey: those facts DO NOT fully absolve his actions as the Wizard's top officer, or selfish recklessness throughout Act II. I see so many popular threads and posts romanticizing and whitewashing with "oh but he didn't REALLY join the Wizard, he just pretended so he could try to get to Elphie! It's all for love, and he sacrificed everything for her!" As if the literal captain of the literally fascist forces responsible for the oppression of Animals wasn't equally responsible for said oppression?? Hello? Fiyero really didn't think of seeking out Elphaba in ANY other way that DIDN'T involve becoming *checks notes*... the trusted leader of the troops committing all the abuses she's fighting against in the first place???? Like it's cool and all that he helped with Brrr, and it's all well and good that he planned on betraying the Wizard as soon as he found Elphaba (which took literal years, so I guess we're left to assume he was prepared to just keep doing fascism indefinitely if she didn't show up????), but uh... it's kind of concerning to how eager some of you are to make excuses for this dude volunteering as the head of the Ozian Gestapo??? smdh
He didn't accomplish anything from it either, by the way — like yeah, we get it, he did everything he did whilst silently fantasizing about running away with the Witch he was being paid to hunt. Fine. But I can't be the only one who doesn't buy that as an actual excuse???? Like, guys: nobody forced him to join the fascist army — even with crazy ulterior motives. He wasn't coerced into it; it wasn't his only choice or anything. Searching for Elphaba did not somehow compel him to go and volunteer to follow (or to give!) orders in the name of the dictator who was trying to have her assassinated the entire time. He could have just not done all that. (Genuinely so curious how the second film plans on covering that material tbh)
Glinda made several questionable decisions that can be (and have been) debated, but she is still very unambiguously a victim. Her position in the Wizard's regime was foisted upon her. There are things we can discuss, but I find that many folks need reminding that Glinda would undoubtedly have been disposed of (or worse) if she failed to make herself useful. I mean hell: she wasn't even supposed to meet the Wizard in the first place — she was only there because of Elphie. If she'd tried to resist, it would have immediately gotten her labeled the Witch's accomplice. As soon as she'd chosen not to get on the broom, her fate was out of her hands, and all available options were varying degrees of horrible.
That's not the case with Fiyero. He went to the Wizard all on his own; no one ever cornered or forced him into it. Thinking Animals are people, and having a crush on Elphaba, simply did not stop him from carrying out the regime's orders — for years. It's not clear exactly how long he's been captain at the start of Act II, but the clear implication is that he's been a soldier for most of the time skip. I've seen Fiyeraba accounts with headcanons about him acting as a double agent, secretly doing stuff to help Animals — and that's a great idea, it would indeed serve to make a lot of his actions way more palatable — but until we actually get to SEE some of that (maybe they'll add it for the movie version of Act II; we'll have to see), there is nothing in the story to suggest that. He certainly didn't do a damn thing for all those Animals who were enslaved and caged in the Wizard's palace — and we don't see a single other Animal outside of there in Act II, so as far as we know Fiyero has participated over those years in the near-total removal of Animals from Ozian society. In the name of "finding Elphaba". Not fighting for her cause. Just finding HER. For HIMSELF.
It's fine to have a ship you like, obviously — and there is genuinely a lot to like about Fiyeraba, I don't dislike the idea of them as a couple or as friends — but come on guys: please stop those out there idealizing Fiyero as somehow a clear "morally-superior" alternative to Glinda, lol. The dude had power, access, and opportunities, for years, that he could have wielded in any number of really selfless, revolutionary ways. He didn't. And I propose (apparently controversially): he simply didn't want to. And that — at the end of the day — is (much as some would like to deny it) true to his character. He always WANTED to be self-absorbed and shallow, and all his actions are consistent with that. Elphaba saw depth and discontentment in him, yes: but (and I cannot stress this enough) when given the chance, he channeled that in the wrong direction. He didn't confront that and become a better person — for the most part he just displaced and projected it onto Elphaba as an object of obsession, and put on an even thicker pretense than before.
All his actions — regardless of the complexity he has deep down — are those of a man who never gives one fuck about anything or anyone, except (kinda sorta) Elphaba. But even then: at no time does the care he has for her seem to extend to caring about any of her wants or needs outside of sexual validation from him, or how she might feel about his actions, or indeed the impacts of those actions upon her, her cause, or anyone or anything else. I don't think it should be all that controversial to say: he doesn't think through the wider repercussions of anything he does — thoughtlessness is just one of his core character traits. He doesn't think ahead or see meaning in anything outside of what can temporarily excite him, in the moment. I think people place a little too much weight on Elphaba clocking him with regard to his internal pain, and seem to expect (understandably of course) that she is not only right, but moreover that he will grow from that in a positive direction, based on her influence.
But he doesn't. If anything, we get a surprising inverse: he pretty much proves her wrong. Not to say he didn't have hidden depth and all that, like she said: but his hypothetical heart of gold proves not to really amount to much in practice. He doesn't grow out of his shallowness and his self-centeredness: he grows into it in a way that he hadn't quite yet in school. Where once he was only masking an internal listlessness, after he's been cracked open by Elphaba he decides to be genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow, not just coasting by. He performs in new ways — as a soldier, eventually as a "fiancé", etc. — but by Act II we meet a Fiyero who has staked the last remaining shred of humanity in him on the vain pursuit of the only object of his desire that has ever been unavailable to him, and firmly chosen to say to hell with everyone and everything else.
When put to the test, Fiyero sacrifices Glinda, the Animals, and all else that Elphaba actually cared about, to pursue his own unresolved crush from college. Mostly to get in her pants, really — as harsh as I'm sure that sounds. But let me be frank: that is literally all he ever accomplishes in the show. He gives her dick one time, and one of his castles, and that's it. That's the culmination of his years trying to find her — years in which he actively worked as one of the stormtroopers (or even the one commanding them) committing untold crimes against Animalkind (who, again, it seems have been all but erased from Oz by Act II): y'know, the very crimes Elphaba sacrificed her life to try and stop????? He spent the most important time of his life — of his own free will — being a fascist soldier, but he "did it for her" somehow, so according to some, it's perfectly fine. Heroic, even. Yikes??
But let's make something very clear (since my original version of this post caught a lot of flak, including slurs and other rudeness):
I like Fiyero. I find his role extremely interesting (I could do a whole dissertation on him, but I'm especially a fan of the way his proving Elphaba's assessment of him wrong presents a fascinating parallel and contrast with Glinda, which I think is lost on a lot of people). But PLEASE stop with all the misguided Glinda slander and idealization of Fiyero. By all means, thirst! But don't give me all this bullshit about him deserving Elphaba more, or being super deep, or being really principled or noble or whatever else. He does have layers, and quite intriguing ones, but his insides are straw — he isn't meant to have some deep, overwrought emotional core or motivations; he has passions that he acts upon when given the chance. That's it. And that's fine. Actually kind of refreshing in a story rooted in simple children's fantasy but rife with intensely complicated personalities. Fiyero makes it his mission to represent denial of depth and embrace of raw, spontaneous desire — and I for one love that, and wish others appreciated it.
And in all seriousness, shipping wars aside: by the end of the story, it's Glinda who is ultimately vindicated, and has — for all her faults — made the necessary choices to fulfill Elphaba's wishes, bring down the regime, etc. And all that despite herself. She's miserable: not just because of the mistakes she made, but because of her correct moves as well. Fiyero is simply not — and could never be — that person. And that's okay! Like I said: I am not anti-Fiyero. Fiyero's willingness to throw it all away for the sake of sheer, overriding passion is a huge part of what people like about him, of course — and it's an obvious factor in the attraction between him and Elphaba, because she has her own flavor of that impulse as well — but I'd actually argue that it's not romantic, it's his fatal flaw. And thematically that's fantastic! But I just don't believe that it somehow means he "deserves Elphaba more" because he "gave up his life for her" or whatever. In part because NOBODY truly "deserves" Elphie tbh, not 100% (and I question anybody who claims otherwise), but ultimately because I don't accept the idea that his fleeting acts of passion make up for all the shit leading up to them (or even proceeding after them tbh). At least Glinda managed to do what Elphaba always wanted in the end — but I would die on this hill even if Gelphie didn't exist.
You don't have to agree with my analysis of Fiyero and his choices, relationships, etc. — that's fine. What isn't fine is trying to portray Glinda as some kind of spineless traitor whore for the Wizard and Fiyero as a conscientious hero who earned Elphie through self-sacrifice. That's just not the story that was written. It's WAY messier and more interesting than that.

Fanfic Writer Asks
[SOURCE: criminal-minds-fanfiction: Most of the writer ask posts I come across are only like ten or so questions long so I thought I’d try to make a longer one because we like talking about our writing! Feel free to reblog!]
I’m answering all of these b/c I love Q & A’s about my writing, both for my fics and other things.
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction? It was 2013, so I was 14 years old. I’m now almost 23.
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one? I’m mostly in the Wicked Musical fandom, but I like to read for other fandoms, like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Chronicles of Narnia, ect.
3) Do you prefer writing OC’s or reader inserts? Explain your answer. OCs, but I’m more than willing to create an OC for someone based on characteristics they give me.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for? I love me some fluffy romance and hurt/comfort, but I also love some angsty drama.
5) If you had to choose a favourite out of all of your multi-chaptered stories, which would it be and why? OMG, don’t make me choose! They’re all my babies! I love all my children equally! They all hold special places in my heart.
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why? Goodness, most of my stories prior to 2017, because I was in high school and had no idea what I was doing because I was just getting my feet wet with writing.
7) When is your preferred time to write? Anytime really. The latest I’ve stayed up writing a fic was 4AM. *Glares at ‘Threads of Truth’*
8) Where do you take your inspiration from? Where ever it happens to come up. I’m not picky. Movies, music, people I’ve seen on the street, random thoughts that enter my head, anything.
9) In your xxx fic, what’s your favourite scene that you wrote? In ‘Threads of Truth’, it’s a tie between Villy’s first date, and an argument that happens in an upcoming chapter. And that’s all I’m saying about that.
10) In your xxx fic, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind? In ‘Play The Game’, I liked the epilogue ending that I gave Elphaba with her family, even without Fiyero. I like writing her with kids. Another ending would be with the Fiyeraba still together, but I’m satisfied with the ending it has.
11) Have you ever amended a story due to criticisms you’ve received after posting it? I’ll go back and fix typos that are pointed out, but I don’t change plot stuff. Like, I wrote what I wrote and I will amend my technique in future stories.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why? Other than my OCs, because I get to fully create them and my lowkey babies, I’d have to say G(a)linda. She has so much potential and she’s so much fun.
13) Who is your least favourite character to write for? Why? Boq. Not because I hate him (I don’t!), but because I don’t normally know what to do with him. If he’s not with Nessa, he’s literally just standing there like a brick wall. No offence, Boq!
14) How did you come up with the title for the xxx? - You can ask about multiple stories. [Ask me about a specific story(ies)]
15) If you write OC’s, how do you decide on their names? I usually change consonants and vowels to already existing names, or add unnecessary letters because... reasons.
16) How did you come up with the idea for xxx? [Ask me about a specific story]
17) Post a line from a WIP that you’re working on. “Hopefully, this will soak up any more leaks.” (Upcoming Wicked fanfic)
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them? Yes, 2. Both of them are a few years old and I’ve grown as a writer since then. Maybe one day, I’ll edit them and repost, but not anytime soon.
19) Are there any stories that you’ve written that you’d really love to do a sequel to? Not everything can have a sequel, y’all! XD
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently? Yes! Around 60% of them.
21) Tell me about another writer(s) who you admire? What is it about them that you admire? @vinkunwildflowerqueen @raven-curls @mylittleelphie @weaselspeedfanfic Ultimate Queen of Cliffies
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it? This goes back to Question #6; most of what I posted prior to 2017.
23) Do you prefer listening to music when you’re writing or do you need silence? Silence. I need to focus.
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes? I can’t write it. They’ll make out, and then be pregnant in the next chapter. Y’all can do the math for yourselves.
25) Have you ever cried whilst writing a story? YES! Yes, I have! Both sad tears and tears of joy. I’ve also cringed from second-hand embarrassment at the things the characters do and say. I’m not in control of their actions all the time. Sometimes they tell me what they’re gonna do, and I’m like, “Well, alright, then.”
26) Which part of your xxx fic was the hardest to write? [Ask me about a specific story]
27) Do you make a general outline for your stories or do you just go with the flow? I write bullet points of things I want to happen in a chapter on the Word Doc, or in the story as a whole, and I try to keep those bullet points in order. And the Notes App on my phone holds a lot of my ideas, and sometimes full scenes.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction? That I’d become obsessed with writing and continue doing it for almost ten years, as well as expanding to writing plays and musicals.
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like? Yeah. I’m not gonna say which one, but just know there’s one... or a few.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at? Yes, and I’m still not gonna say which one(s). I want all the love!
31) Send me a fic recommendation and I’ll post it for my followers to see! (The asker is to send the rec, not the answerer) Yeah, sure!
32) Are any of your characters based on real people? Yes. Villy Doiir from ‘Threads of Truth’ is based on 4 people I know in real life, all mixed together into one wholesome, mother figure/ mentor. Perhaps that’s why I like writing her so much.
33) What’s the biggest compliment you’ve gotten? All reviews keep me going, no matter the length. But I love it when people review saying that they picked up on little references that were really just for me. It makes me feel like we’ve shared a moment.
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten? A guest reviewer once said, “You tend to write Fiyero as an abusive person”. It wasn’t harsh, just... NOT TRUE. Especially for the story they were reviewing.
35) Do you share your story ideas with anyone else or do you keep them close to your chest? Close to my chest. I’ll share it with the world when I’m ready.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s? NOPE! You’ll just have to wait and see! LOL!
37) What’s the funniest story you’ve written? I... really don’t know. My stories all have their funny moments.
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it. I’m very busy, and collabs aren’t really my thing, but I’m always willing to lend an extra pair of eyes pre-posting.
39) Do you prefer first, second or third person? I’ve written one story in the first person and it was fun to get into the character’s head, but I love third person, cause I like knowing what everyone is thinking. Second person makes me feel a certain way and that don’t really like.
40) Do people know you write fanfiction? IRL, no. It’s not something I bring up over dinner. I’ll talk about my plays and musicals, but not fanfiction. I like keeping my fics for the online peeps and my more personal writings for the RL peeps.
41) What’s you favourite minor character you’ve written? My OC, Princess Hannalyn, from ‘A Royal Romance’. She was so much fun!
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song xxx for xxx. I haven’t done a song fic.
43) Has anyone ever guessed the plot twist of one of your fics before you posted it? Not fully, but they’ve had little inklings, but certain details were still a surprise. And I’m not mad about it.
44) What is the last line you wrote? “I don’t want this to be the last time we see each other.”
45) What spurs you on during the writing process? When I’ll have one idea, and it spirals into many others, and when the characters write themselves. It makes it so much easier for me. Sometimes they tell me that they’re about to make a bad decision, and I just go along with it. They need to learn and grow somehow.
46) I really loved your xxx fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it? [Ask me for a specific story]
47) Here’s a fic title - insert a made up title. What would this story be about? [Ask me]
48) What’s your favourite trope to write? I love a good Royalty AU (not fully AU ‘cause of our princey-prince, but still) and Holiday AUs. And I’ve never written a Coffeeshop AU, but I LOVE reading them. I’ll read anything. I’m not picky, and I love to see what ideas others have.
49) Can you remember the first fic you read? What was it about? Yes, and both of them were Gelphies: 1 - “Easier Said Than Done” by mecelphie - It’s part of a long, wonderful series of Elphaba and Glinda together at Shiz and how their lives evolve together and has many lovable OCs. 2 - “The Thropp Diaries” by denpa wave chick saki - It’s first-person Elphaba POV of the book. It expands on lots of mentioned moments and we get to journey through Elphaba’s thoughts.
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? I’d have to say fluff, so I can get my escape from reality. But it’s hard to write pure fluff without a little bit of conflict.
If you wanna read my stories, they’re all right here: Fae’sFlower

i love WQ but ( I’m not saying you do this ) why do some people think I can’t like both gelphie and fiyeraba?
you just asked me to psycho-analyze an entire fandom i love it haha.
There’s this tweet making its round, tons of notes both on tumblr and twitter that goes along the line of: “a ship is just [insert character you identify with] x [character you have a crush on] change my mind”. and it has genuinely baffled me. But if so many people liked it that means those people read a certain truth in that statement. So, translating that. If someone ships the person you identify with not with the person you like but someone else oh boy, shit’s suddenly personal.
I don’t think this justifies things like ship wars, but it sure as heck explains them a lot better. In similar vain, it explains why multi-ships are still a rarity unless someone just loves all the characters.
Personally, I can’t relate to that tweet because that’s not how I’ve ever approached a ship. So let’s step away from it, because I’m making a lot of assumptions about people I don’t know.
For me it’s all about the dynamic between characters. And in all honesty, anon, I don’t like fiyeraba. In the musical bc their relationship is based on a music cue which I find lazy writing. And in the book bc their relationship is pretty sexual and im a whole ass ace. it’s not what i find interesting to read. also I really dislike how Maguire wrote Elphaba in those EC chapters. I hc them as non-binary and in those chapters Elphie’s like so Woman-y and such a 1950s housewife.... not their style. real bad. i fucking hate it.
BUT. that’s my reading. See how many personal (dis)likes I projected onto those chapters? A shitton! I can def see how fiyeraba has a playful dynamic and that someone else might really enjoy that! Also Fiyero and his death in particular have a very deep impact on Elphaba and therefore the rest of the book. It’s one of the reasons I always make Elphaba bisexual in my work bc I can definitely see Elphaba loved Fiyero. I just don’t ship it.
And that’s the big difference we all collectively - whether you just ship gelphie, just ship fiyeraba or ship both - have to be aware of. Just because I don’t like fiyeraba and criticize the book and musical on those aspects, doesn’t mean I critize fiyeraba shippers. bc that’s a fucking shitty thing to do. And it’s real important to keep that divide clear.
I’m real sorry that people don’t believe you when you say you like both ships. that’s not a fun fandom experience. Shippers are the actual human beings here, not the ships. :/
#Anonymous#sam's asks#didn't feel right to put this in the post itself#but this is why i contemplated SO long on how to incorporate fiyero into WQ#bc i didn't want him to be just dangling between elphaba and glinda#he needed his own arc#and that's how i realized.. he didn't really have one?#not in the musical at least#his want and his need didn't line up AT ALL#and REAL honesty hour?#out of ANYTHING i changed in wickedly queer#im proudest of the arc i created for fiyero#he's a good egg

I still like my fancast better
I’ve got nothing against Erivo, Bailey and Grande. But the fact remains is. They don’t look like college students. I mean. Look at dear Evan Hansen. I like Ben Platt. But he was too old to convincingly play a high school student on film. Same goes for Erivo, Bailey and Grande. Theatre is an entirely different medium that almost completely lacks closeups.
And yes. Before anyone says anything. I’m more than aware that Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson and Mitchell Hope are all pushing thirty. But they can still pass for younger. And in my opinion. Erivo, Bailey and Grande can’t. I’m not saying they’re not talented, I’ve only seen Bailey in five children and It, Broadchurch and doctor who but I know he was in a Sondheim musical and I’ve heard Erivo sing in Pinocchio and Grande sing in Victorious. I’m saying that in my own opinion they don’t look like the college student Fiyeraba and Glinda are at the start. But as always. I’m prepared to change my mind in the event they manage to pull it off
On another far, far more petty note. You CAN make it into one full film. You CAN segue from Defying Gravity to Thank Goodness. Just zoom out as Elphaba belts out the final note of Defying Gravity, fade to white, or green if you’d prefer, and zoom back in on Fiyero and Glinda’s engagement party in Thank Goodness. It CAN be done. So don’t be lazy. Don’t make us wait like the Simpsons did. Don’t try to be deathly hallows or mockingjay. If les miserables can do it. So can you. So please. Don’t. Be. Lazy.
TL;DR: I still like my fancast better but I’m prepared to be wrong. And I fully believe the filmmakers are being completely and utterly fucking lazy by splitting the film up into two parts and making us all wait a year between instalments. And no. You will never be able to change my mind on this last one. It’s already made up

I think there are many problems with Wicked (book) and I don't like it when people act like it's Nirvana while the musical is like Kidz Bop. Problems i have include: the Philosophy Club, Time Jumps, and not giving Elphaba's side of the story enough. The only problems i have with the musical are the white washing of Fiyero and the simplifying of characters.
I don’t know if you’re sending this because you think I’m guilty of this? I love the book and the musical. They’re both extremely good in my mind and each have their strengths and their flaws. The musical is a huge leap of plot holes, but the book is meandering and sometimes seems to lose its purpose. I don’t think that the book is so vastly superior to the musical at all. If I sometimes seem that way, it’s because I’m highlighting the areas in which I believe the book does a better job than its adaptation, and those areas include:- Representation of racial, religious and sexual diversity- Complex political dynamics - Complicated familial relationshipsThese are some aspects where I find that the book gives a fuller, more nuanced narrative. It doesn’t mean that the musical gives nothing at all. Also the musical has some really high highs that the book never does, and, you know, a slightly less heartbreaking ending. I think it’s best to consider them on two completely different planes of appreciation. My love for the book has absolutely nothing to do with the musical and vice versa. I love both to bits (there’s a reason I’ve seen Wicked more than any other musical!), flaws and all. I find it much easier to just embrace even the lesser parts of either story. Yes, the book has the weird-ass sex scenes, the musical is crazy hamfisted and dramatic and in your face, so what? They’re both amazing. They’re both a superb story. Let’s just accept them as they are.I think that maybe some people might lean towards the book simply because some aspects of it are kinder to their ship? Like, yeah, the ending of both Fiyeraba and Gelphie if fucking depressing in the book, but the highs are also higher? I’ll admit that the people I have seen praising the book are also huge fans of the musical, so I’m not entirely sure what you mean.

Got this message from @motherofdragons7:
“Hi! If you're bored, would you mind doing this for Don't Tell The Bride, (lol my fave fanfic of yours, my 2nd favorite is The Right Thing to Do)”
And I’m taking it easy atm, because I gave blood today, so why not? 1: What inspired you to write the fic this way? Um, basically, there was an Australian version of the TV show Don’t tell the Bride, I got hooked. And then I wondered “how would Fiyero go on the show?” but as there’s no TV in Oz, I decided to make it a magazine article instead.
2: What scene did you first put down? The first scene. I wrote it in order.
3: What's your favourite line of narration? Oh, that’s a tough one. I haven’t re-read it in a while... but this was the first one that came to mind “And as for Galinda, Corin may as well have said that pink and purple were basically the same colour.”
4: What's your favourite line of dialogue? Anything Corin says? Does that count?
5: What part was hardest to write? Uh, Frex, from memory. Frex is always hard to write. Also trying to make each element of the wedding planning interesting.
6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics? Well, the big fic I’d written before that was Come What May, so it was such a relief to write something that wasn’t soul crushingly depressing and heartbreaking (which clearly, I did not learn from looking at After Forever). A lot (ok, most) of my fics have weddings feature in them, but looking at all the aspects of the planning was different.
7: Where did the title come from? The TV show of the same name. It’s great, I love it. And the grooms vary on the scale of “this is really sweet” to “do you even know the person you’re marrying?”
8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it? Me? Lol. The editor of the magazine and the two reporters were inspired by me, and my friends Julia and Kelly.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? Nope. What you see is what I originally planned. Although I think I considered the idea of a Gloq wedding with the same premise.
10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story? It’s Fiyeraba. Do I need any more reason? But honestly, I thought it would be interesting to see Fiyero plan a wedding and Elphaba would be game to let him plan it.
11: What do you like best about this fic? Micah and Corin. I love them. And the flashbacks, which turned out much better than I expected.
12: What do you like least about this fic? You know, overall I’m really happy with it. I can’t think of anything I’m not really happy with. Although, again, it’s been a while since I read it.
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn't listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to accompany us while reading? I don’t think I really listened to anything while writing. I tend to watch more TV/movies while I write than listen to music. I think I watched a lot of Bones and Friends while watching this one. And possibly the third Anne of Green Gables movie, judging by my use of “Let Me Call You Sweetheart” (I love that song. That can be my recommendation!)
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic? Wedding planning is exhausting? And DTTB is a great show you should all watch.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic? Again, wedding planning is exhausting. Even when it's a fictional wedding. other question, what are your top five favorite fanfics you've written?
This is such a hard question. But I’m going to go with You’ve Got Mail, Come What May, Sins of the Father, Life’s Epochs and Long Time Coming.
By other writers? (For Wicked Preferably but any fandom is great!)
I’ll stick to Wicked- Following the Rules (but I really, really, really wish it was updated/completed); Almost Like a Prophecy; Changed, For Good (it’s one of the first ones I remember reading); Ghost of Green Girl’s Present; and Skin Deep.

Wicked things, Act Two
(Spoilers, obviously, and a favourite song of mine.)
Fiyero’s ‘that’s not how you described it to me’ following Morrible’s version of events ‘This is an engagement party?!’ ‘We’d hoped you’d be. The Wizard and I.’ really, Glinda? 'WHAT? Water will melt her? People are so empty-headed they’ll believe anything.’ 'You know who could. Who has.’ Fiyero shrugging her off and saying 'You know me. I’m always happy’ when he’s very clearly not Glinda also being decidedly less happy than she lets on 'Cause getting your dreams, it strange but it seems a little, well…complicated.’ Because she’s got her fame and fortune, but she’s beginning to realise that maybe, just maybe, the life she chose was too fake, too superficial, when she knew the truth - when she knew the identity of the Witch, when she knew the secrets of Oz, when she knew the man behind the curtain ’…well…isn’t it?’ - Thank Goodness
'Oh, I’m sorry, did I scare you? I seem to have that effect on people.’ 'Well, there’s no place like home.’
'Well, what did you expect?’ 'All of my life I’ve depended on you, how do you think that feels?’ Boq dropping his teacup in the floor in shock when he sees Nessa walking The reactions of both sisters when Boq says 'announcing Glinda is engaged to Fiyero’ 'Don’t leave me till my sorry life has ceased’ 'Alone and loveless here, with just the girl in the mirror, just her and me’ The heartbreaking note on 'of’ in 'the Wicked Witch of the East’ OW OW OW 'We deserve each other’ The tragedy of Boq becoming the first one of the Witch Hunters to appear, especially the 'I lost my heart to Glinda’/heartless parallel 'No, you’re not. You’re going to see Fiyero. But it’s too late.’ The moment when you realise later on that 'nothing is enough, and it never will be’ is the last thing Elphaba says to Nessa - Wicked Witch of the East
'Don’t you wish I could? Nobody believed in you more than I did.’ The Wizard basically being a manipulative bastard 'There are precious few at ease with lots ambiguities so we act as though they don’t exist’ yeah I'd gathered that thanks The obvious parallels between Oz and Earth during certain political and social climates (bearing in mind I’m writing this in spring 2017, I think we all know what I’m getting at here) - Wonderful
(Throne room scene) The discovery of Doctor Dillamond and his fate 'Fiyero?’ and the subsequent awkwardness of meeting again after three years but on opposing sides Elphaba’s face after Fiyero’s exclamation of 'Silence, Witch!’ 'There’s a goat on the lam.’ ’…I have changed.’ Then to make things worse, Glinda shows up at exactly the wrong time 'I’m going with her.’ 'What?’ 'WHAT?’ Fiyero being adorably awkward with 'actually, it was…but it wasn’t…’ 'Fine, go! You deserve each other!’ The infamous 'use her sister’ betrayal, like bitch what the fuck
Glinda taking off her engagement ring 'Don’t wish, don’t start. Wishing only wounds the heart.’ - I’m Not That Girl (Reprise)
The reprise segueing into ALAYM Elphaba not being able to believe that her notoriously bad luck could grant her this, the exact thing she had been telling herself not to wish for 'I’ve lost all resistance, and crossed some borderline.’ Constant reminders that they are both fugitives and do not actually 'make up for lost time’ until the very end of the musical (They deserved so much fucking better.) 'Maybe I’m brainless, maybe I’m wise’ again with the scarecrow puns Embracing her supposed wickedness (but in a good way, unlike the NEXT time that happens) with 'It’s just…for the first time, I feel…wicked.’ The really passionate kiss (be still, my Fiyeraba heart) 'It’s not lying, it’s looking at things another way’ ah yes, the line that's either adorable or terrible depending on whether you ship Gelphie or Fiyeraba The fucking awful realisation later on that 'Elphaba, we will be together always. You can see houses flying through the sky, can’t you see that?’ is the last thing that is said between them before shit hits the fan - As Long As You’re Mine
(Catfight scene) Let’s be honest, this scene is hilarious 'People expect me to -’ 'Lie?’ 'Be encouraging!’ Willemijn’s version of Elphaba mimicking Glinda in a high-pitched voice is absolutely brilliant The legendary line of 'Let the green girl go!’ 'Or explain to all Oz how the Wizard’s guards watched while Glinda the Good was slain.’ 'He just…loves her.’ 'No, please don’t hurt him! Fiyero!’
'FIYEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!’ (You knew that one was coming.) Literally, ALL OF THIS FUCKING SONG. ALL OF IT. THE PURE ANGST. The desperation and tragic beauty, if you will, not only of the song in general, but especially the eleka nahmen chant 'Let him never die - LET HIM NEVER DIEEEEEE!’ 'Eleka - eleka - ARGH!’ The insane riffs on the 'FIYEROOO’ belt in the middle of the song that hit a high F 'Was I really seeking good, or just seeking attention?’ The leitmotif making an appearance in the workshop version with 'unlimited - the damage is unlimited - to everyone I’ve tried to help or tried to love.’ 'Is that all good deeds are when looked at with an ice cold eye? If that’s all good deeds are, maybe that’s the reason whyyy’ Elphaba rising out of the dry ice looking like the epitome of a woman scorned 'Sure, I meant well, but LOOK AT WHAT WHAT WELL MEANT DID’ The pure rage and hurt in her eyes and voice with 'let all Oz be agreed, I’m wicked through and through.’ 'Since I could not succeed, Fiyero, saving you, I promise no good deed will I attempt to do again - EVER AGAIN! No good deed will I dO AGAIN!’ This song is, in my eyes at least, where Willemijn just sorta rises above the rest; her portrayal is amazing, and I mean, have you listened to Gutes Tun? She’s a perfect Elphaba. - No Good Deed
Anyway, then that segues into March of the Witch Hunters, which is even fucking worse when you realise it’s made up of Dorothy, Boq, the Lion cub that Elphaba and Fiyero save before I’m Not That Girl in the first act, and Fiyero himself. 'So for once I’m glad I’m heartless - I’ll be heartless, killing her!’ Glinda realising that she essentially set this chain of events into motion when she betrayed Elphaba 'So just smile, and wave, and SHUT UP!'
(Kiamo Ko scene) 'Takes a dead woman’s shoes without asking…must’ve been RAISED IN A BARN!’ Elphaba going deathly silent after reading Fiyero’s note and everyone, including Glinda, assumes the worst
The leitmotif making its final appearance, and carrying with it a sense of defeat 'I’m limited - just look at me. I’m limited’ which is just so heartbreaking 'Now it’s up to you - for both of us. Now it’s up to you.’ 'I don’t know if I believe that’s true, but I know I’m who I am today because I knew you’ Elphaba’s voice cracking slightly on 'I ask forgiveness, for the things I’ve done you blame me for’ 'but then I guess we know there’s blame to share, and none of it seems to matter anymore’ The two accepting that they were both partially to blame for parts of their story and emerging as friends once again 'Because I knew you, I have been changed for good.’ Glinda singing alto and Elphaba singing soprano as they’ve learned from each other - For Good
(Melting scene) The reprisal of No-One Mourns The Wicked as the Witch Hunters rush onstage 'I’m melting!’ Everything going completely silent, until Glinda sinks to the floor directly over Elphaba’s trapdoor, sobbing. 'Elphie?’ (If you’re not crying already, you are now.) Then Chistery hands her the infamous green bottle, and she realises exactly what she has to do
(Post-melting scene) A Sentimental Man plays in the background as she confronts the Wizard, with Morrible realising that it was because she was a child of two worlds that Elphaba was so powerful 'Madame, have you ever considered how you’d fare in captivity?’ 'What?’ 'Cap-tiv-i-ty. Prison.’ Glinda throwing Morrible words from the start of the musical back in her face as she’s taken away by the guards
Finally, No-One Mourns The Wicked reprises again, as the scarecrow helps Elphaba out of the trapdoor. 'You saved my life.’ The audience realises exactly who the scarecrow is (you can almost feel the sigh of relief when it’s revealed that Fiyero isn’t dead, after all) 'You’re still beautiful.’ 'You don’t have to lie to me.’ 'It’s not lying, it’s looking at things another way.’ Elphaba stops for a second, almost hearing Glinda mourning her with 'who can say if I’ve been changed for the better’ After saying her goodbyes to a friend who believes she is dead, she and Fiyero leave through the Clock of the Time Dragon, knowing they can never return to Oz. - Finale
