all of me | luke castellan
pairing: knight!luke castellan x princess!reader
a/n: sooooooo i know that i said i would work on something else but this hit me and suddenly i could not rest until i wrote something for it so you're getting headcanons since i can't formulate proper thoughts. some of this is dialogue but most of this is pure stream of consciousness. im already kind of obsessed w them ?
wc: 3.7k lollll this got away from me but it was so much fun.
warning(s): parental death, fighting, normal royal stuff. fluff, angst, all that good shit
princess!reader and knight!luke
yeah
and they're childhood friends bc they grew up in the castle together
YEAH
luke is the son of a kingsguard and he wants to be just like his mom
his father is out of the picture (booo) and his mom never really talks about him but she’s raised luke the best she can
shoutout to may castellan, she was the first female kingsguard! and definitely the first to personally guard the king
you are the heir to the throne and the only thing you're sure of is that you want luke to be in your life
you basically spent all your time together because he was kinda the only one your parents would approve you hanging out with
most of the crownsguard don't have children and those that do have them live with their spouse outside of the palace, and your parents didn't want you spending time with the children of servants
and luke's mom is your father's closest friend because she's the king's personal knight and so everything’s basically already vetted and they don’t have to worry about you accidentally getting murdered by him
so you and luke basically spend every moment of your free time together!!
even when you’re not free tbh
sometimes you beg your tutor to hold your lessons outside so that you can sneak glimpses at the knights training and luke training alongside them
whenever he sees you, his face always instantly brightens and he will lose focus in whatever tf he’s doing because he’s only thinking about you now
and instead of either of you doing what you’re supposed to do, you just spend the whole time making faces at each other and trying to grab the other’s attention
after his mother tries (and fails) to get him back on track a million times and your tutor realizes that you’re never going to listen to her historical prattles they allow the two of you to talk for “FIVE MINUTES AND NO LONGER MY BOY” and your tutor is all “i ask that you do not delay our lessons any further, your highness”
and tbf you and luke could notttttt care less. you immediately join up and you start teasing him about his form and how he was holding his sword and he just makes fun of you for having to be a princess
“Your form is horrendous, Luke! How do you expect to beat anyone holding a sword like that?”
“At least I’ll be on the battlefield one day. You can bore our enemies to sleep with your recounts of Aureldan history.”
“Oh, I bet I could beat you right now. I’ve got royal blood in my veins.”
“And I’ve got knight’s blood in mine,” he says. “I’ve at least got a sword. That’s more than you have.”
You huff. “Mother says I have to learn propriety before I even think about picking up a weapon.”
“Do you want to hold mine?” he asks immediately, his eyes lighting up as he offers it over. “It’s just wood because Mom doesn’t want me to hurt myself, but that means it’s safe for you.”
you do. obviously.
You’ve got soft hands, untouched by the world, and the sword feels foreign in their grasp as you realize this is in fact the first time you’ve ever held a weapon. You cut it through the air a few times and Luke is grinning wider than ever
“I think the role of a warrior princess suits you,” he says.
“It is nice,” you muse as you turn it over in your hands, already growing used to the feeling of it.
“And you look great with it,” he says. “Powerful.”
“I’d give myself a splinter before I can do anything with it,” you retort as you hand it back to him. “It’s a nice thought, though.”
His eyes light up. “You should train with us sometime. My mom is the best at teaching— she’d teach you everything you need to know!”
You glance back at your tutor, who is very clearly eavesdropping, and you sigh as you look back at Luke. “Maybe in a few months.”
Luke’s mother calls his name and it’s obvious that your time is over. You hug each other and promise to meet up as soon as your responsibilities for the day are over, then go back to your respective duties.
Your tutor takes you inside because she doesn’t want anymore distractions, and you wave at each other like crazy as you’re walking back into the castle.
so yeah. you’re best friends and you have been since you first met as children, and though it is a battle for your betters to keep you on task if you’re near each other, you just light up when you see each other and it actually helps
You’re learning dining etiquette and if you get told that you’re using the wrong spoon again, you’re going to lose your mind.
luke is hurrying through the halls to catch up with his mother and you both catch a glimpse of each other.
your posture straightens, he stops in his tracks, and you both smile at each other. then luke’s mother calls his name again and he’s on his way again.
spoons aren’t that bad, you think
you’re mulling over history books in the library that make you want to fall asleep.
luke just happens to be walking past on the way to his chores, and when he spots you, he yells out your name and waves at you. you wave back, and you both stifle laughs as your tutor shushes you
suddenly, you’re not feeling so down.
Luke is training on his own out in the yard before dinner and he’s about ready to break his sword over his knee because he can not get this damned move right.
he hears your voice across the way and sees you, all dressed up and with your parents about to get into a carriage. you’re on your way to a ball, he remembers you telling him earlier, and he finds himself smiling.
You had been complaining about it, and Luke had told you to just think of the two of you hanging out whenever you were bored. You said you were already planning on it.
His smile widens. He’d be thinking of you too, wondering what it would be like for him to attend with you. Dressed in the same gaudy outfits as the rest of the court, having to go through the same dull niceties that you’d been raised on, listening to stories from other royals he couldn’t care less about.
Standing beside you as an equal.
Luke’s young, but he already doesn’t care for nobles and their court. But he thinks he would wear any amount of uncomfortable suits and listen to any number of dull proposals for you.
for the rest of the night, he trains better than he thinks he ever has.
and of course, you break the rules together. GOD HELP YOUR CHARGES YOU ALWAYS BREAK THE RULES TOGETHER
your tutor cannot count how many times you’ve slipped out of lessons and she’s found you in the halls talking with luke, him smiling brighter than she’s ever seen as he listens to you go on and on and on
your mother cannot count all the times you’ve talked about what you and luke did that day instead of describing to her any of the history or arithmetic you were supposed to be learning
May always keeps watch over her son, but she’s been known to turn a blind eye when Luke thinks he’s being sneaky to go off and see you.
and of course, sometimes you actually hang out when you’re allowed to hang out lol
you’ve run around every bit of the palace grounds together, you ride horses together (with parental supervision of course), and once you’re a bit older, you’re actually allowed to practice with luke and the rest of the knights!
typically, it’s a shorter session with May teaching the two of you, and typically, it ends with both of you ready to die because you’re just kids and even though Luke is a prodigy, you are sooooo bad at swordfighting. it’s honestly not even funny how bad you are at it the first couple of lessons
But May just pats you on the shoulder and promises to work with you until you’re as good as her.
(luke pouts and says he wants to be better than you. you forget that you’re holding a sword and just start complaining at each other)
(“you CAN’T be better than me luke I’m the princess”) (“YES I CAN MY MOM’S THE GREATEST KNIGHT EVER”) (“SHE PROTECTS MY DAD WHICH MEANS I CAN BE THE BEST EVER”) (“THAT DOESN’T EVEN MAKE SENSE”) (“YES IT DOES”) (“NO IT DOESN’T”) (“I’M YOUR PRINCESS YES IT DOES”)
(the lesson ends when May has to pry you two apart)
but we haven’t gotten to the knight part.
because it’s a bit sad.
what happens to may in pjo canon is awful but
May Castellan dies when you and Luke are sixteen. A month after your birthday, in fact. Four months after Luke’s.
(he’s always held those three months over you, especially as you get older.)
(it doesn’t seem to matter as much now.)
rumor has it throughout the kingdom that she slowly went insane and then fully lost it, ultimately dying in an attack against the king during a ball that turned out to be a set-up.
the only one who knows what really happened that night is your father as he was the only other person there at her death that still lives, but he refuses to talk about it, only saying that “Head of the Kingsguard May Castellan died a hero and shall be remembered as such”.
Luke… does not take it well
besides the king, he obviously spent the most time with his mother and it was obvious to anyone that she loved him with all her heart and wanted him to follow whatever dreams he may have had
she’s given a knight’s funeral and you are beside Luke the entire time, holding his hand or him leaning against you as you listen to eulogies or even just sitting next to each other because your presence is enough for him. it doesn’t matter what—you’re always connected in some way, and no one says a single thing.
he needs you, and you need him. it’s as simple as that. and no one dares to correct the princess when she’s icier than they’ve ever seen her.
You put on that front to protect Luke—you don’t want anyone bothering him, and you don’t want him to have to worry about you at a time like this.
Because you know he would. He always does.
When Luke gives his speech, barely able to hold back tears, he looks at you the entire time. he doesn’t tell you, but you’re the only reason he’s able to get through the day.
Luke becomes a ward of the royal family.
There’s no chance you’re letting him leave, and Luke doesn’t want to go either. The memories of his mother all around are painful, but he takes some small comfort that she’ll live on in Aurelda forever.
Your parents have no objection to it—he grew up in the palace anyways, and he can practically provide for himself. You wouldn’t have let them say no.
You’re thankful beyond words that Luke is still here. Because everything feels like a mess, and things are a little more manageable with him by your side.
Someone tried to kill your father. They killed Luke’s mother instead. Both of you are broken in different ways.
Obviously, this sparks the beginnings of war both in Aurelda and in Luke’s entire being.
but that’s a topic for another day.
May’s death changes your relationship.
She was his mother, obviously, but you were close to her as well. you could never forget every time she ruffled your hair and complimented your sword fighting, or every time she would acknowledge you in the midst of a crowd with a smile and a nod, or every time she would act like a mother and not a knight.
she had the best hugs in the entire kingdom.
But her death changes your relationship because Luke changes.
He’s angrier. His edges have all sharpened, honed by his own spirit. He softens when he’s around you, but to the outside eye he’s impenetrable. He thinks you’re the only one that understands him.
Others pity him, fear him, are jealous of him.
You treat him the way you always have. Like your best friend.
That’s all he needs.
And so Luke throws himself into his training, vowing to become the youngest kingsguard in Aureldan history to honor his mother’s memory. He wasn’t able to save his mother, and he needs to become strong enough to protect the ones he loves from anything.
(You don’t know it, but he thinks of you every time he closes his eyes and sees the night his mother died. He’s in the place of his mother and you’re in your father’s position, and Luke knows that he would sacrifice himself for you every single time.)
So you don’t have as much time for each other anymore. Luke is on his kingsguard mission, and you’re starting to come into your own as the Crown Princess of Aurelda.
You can’t sneak out of lessons anymore to go talk with Luke, because you’re starting to learn about the nuances of politics.
Luke can’t let you interrupt his training, because he’s on a warpath and he won’t be stopped before he reaches his goal.
You can’t neglect your responsibilities because they’re more than just etiquette or history lessons. War is going to come to Aurelda sooner or later, and you’ve got to be ready when it does.
You’re only sixteen, but neither of you are children anymore.
But you’re still best friends. Nothing can change that—it’s just changed the way you show it.
You take your morning walks with your mother past the training grounds, and Luke always smiles at you and salutes no matter what. You bow your head in a very refined, princess-y nod, and you continue on.
Luke makes sure he’s always the one that gets to deliver news to you, even going so far as to make deals with other servants and messengers just to make sure he gets to see you at least once a day.
Most of the time, you end up seeing each other at night. Just happening to end up in the kitchens at the same time for a midnight snack that results in hours of talking with each other. Bringing Luke to your balcony to look at the stars together.
Even some midnight training has occurred together, though you always end up a sweaty mess and having to make a bath for yourself because you can’t alert your servants. Luke says he likes you best when you have that vicious glint in your eye while you’re training with him.
Luke still has horrific dreams, and though he weathered them on his own for a while, one night he finds himself outside your door. When you open it, seeing his haunted eyes and disheveled appearance, you let him in immediately.
It’s not the first time you’ve slept in the same bed after nightmares, and you know it won’t be the last.
(You spent the whole week together after his mother’s death. Not even your parents could complain when they saw the change in both of you.)
And Luke does it. He completes his training, having become one of the fiercest and youngest warriors Aurelda has ever seen. Traditionally, knights are older, but an exception was made for Luke—he’s got the Castellan name and a childhood spent with the greatest knights in the kingdom to back him up.
You’re the first person he tells when he finds out, and your scream of pure joy must have echoed throughout the entire castle. You hug him tighter than he’s ever been hugged before, and for just a moment, in your embrace, he feels like you’re both kids again.
Weeks from his eighteenth birthday, your father knights Luke Castellan in an official ceremony.
Not just as a member of the kingsguard, though—he is sworn in as a knight, and as your personal bodyguard.
Your father didn’t tell you beforehand, and you thank a childhood of courtly influence to keep the shock off your face. One hand tightens ever so slightly into a fist, and you let it out just as quickly.
You can’t see Luke’s expression, kneeling and head turned downward. You would pay all the gold in the kingdom to know what he was thinking.
“Sir Luke Castellan.” Your father’s voice booms through the hall, and a shiver even goes down your spine. “Do you swear to serve Aurelda as her loyal knight, through war and peace, through riches and debt?”
“I do,” Luke says.
“Do you swear to protect the Crown Princess of Aurelda—” your father says your entire title, and for the fifth time you wonder how many middle names a princess needs, “—my daughter—with everything you have in you, until your dying breath?”
Your breathing stills for the slightest moment.
Luke doesn’t flinch. “I do.”
The thought of Luke dying for you is unimaginable. It’s something you’d never ask of him—you don’t think you could live in a world without him anyways. You know it’s what knights are expected to do—for king and country, my life for yours—but that’s for any member of the royal family—any member of the court.
Luke is assigned solely to your protection.
And he doesn’t even falter when he bonds his life to yours.
As soon as the ceremony is over and Aurelda has gained three new knights, you’re on your way to Luke. You don’t care if anyone else wants to talk with the princess, you don’t care if your parents need to tell you something—royal propriety be damned, you need to talk to Luke.
He doesn’t look surprised when you march up to him, but there’s already a different air about him.
Maybe it’s because in these past couple of years he’s absolutely shot up in height, maybe it’s because his insane training regimen has toned every part of him, maybe it’s because he’s done what no one else has done before, or maybe it’s just because he actually accomplished his goal.
But when he smiles at you, that crooked slant to his lips that always meant mischief when you were younger, it’s enough to make that train of thought immediately shut down.
“Princess,” he greets. “I think we’re going to be spending a lot more time together, these days.”
“Yeah,” you say, the warpath you’d intended to be on fading away almost immediately with his words (and that goddamned smile that will certainly be the death of you someday.) “Maybe this is our way to make up on all that lost time.”
“...I’d like that,” Luke says.
“Can I hug you?” you ask wryly. “Or is that unbecoming of a brand new knight?”
“I don’t think anyone will tell the princess she is doing something wrong,” Luke says.
So you do. You hug him, and he immediately wraps his arms around you, and you hate that you had any doubt that he would. You’ve always felt safe in his embrace even since you were children, and now that he’s four times as strong and much taller, you feel it more than ever.
He truly does look the part of a perfect knight. You remember the days of wooden sword fights and afternoons by the lake, wondering what your future awaited, but sure you would be together no matter what.
You feel like you’ve aged a century since then.
“I’m proud of you, you know,” you say as you pull away. “You’re incredible. I mean— you always have been, but this… It’s everything you’ve ever wanted. So I’m proud of you.”
Luke brushes his curls out of his face with a gauntleted hand, his smile turning a bit more genuine. “It means the world, princess. You are… one of the main reasons that I even made it up here. So I have you to thank.”
You feel your cheeks heat. “I haven’t done anything.”
“You’ve been you,” he refutes. “You’ve stood by my side through everything, and you’ve always been there when I need you no matter what. You’ve done everything.”
You’re thankful for the sheer sleeves of your gown, because now your entire body feels warm. And maybe that’s why you practically blurt the question out, but it’s been burning in your mind since the moment it happened.
“Did you know?”
He frowns. “Know what?”
“That you would become my personal guard,” you said. “You’ve wanted to be a part of the kingsguard since you were a child, and now…”
“Princess,” Luke says, “I asked your father for the honor.”
That throws you off. “What?”
“Do you think he would entrust your wellbeing to just anyone?” he asks. “It’s part of the reason I’ve been training so hard—I wanted to prove to him that I was worthy of the position.”
“Luke—” you start, but he shakes his head.
“War is coming to Aurelda whether we like it or not,” he says. “All I want is for you to be safe. This way, I can ensure it.”
“You said you would die for me,” you say. “You vowed it.”
“That is generally how knighthood works, yes—”
“Luke,” you interrupt forcefully. “I don’t want you to die for me.”
“The goal is for nobody to die,” he says wryly.
You cross your arms. “You know what I mean.”
“Your safety is my number one concern, princess,” he says. “That’s all you need to know.”
You stare at him. He stares back.
You win, because Luke sighs and shakes his head. “We don’t have to worry about that at the moment. Right now, you have to get back to change before you sit in on an advisor’s meeting with the king and queen.”
You frown. “How do you know?”
“I’m your guard,” Luke says. “It’s my job to know.”
“You were just sworn in!” you protest.
“And I am always prepared,” he remarks. Luke holds his hand out in a gesture towards the door. “After you, princess.”
You shake your head as you start walking. You hear Luke’s footsteps start soon after, much heavier than yours in full armor as opposed to your ceremonial dress. “You are ridiculous.”
“Which is also my job,” Luke muses.
and so luke becomes a knight, but not just any knight.
your knight.
good luck handling that crush on him you've harbored since childhood now.

I don’t know if you’re still keeping up with Titans updates (honestly, I haven’t and basically forgot about it lol), but Anna posted some pictures of Kori’s Starfire costume, and it is 🔥.
Meh im not really, i’ve kinda given up on the show tbh, season 2 was like nail in the coffin.😂
I saw! (Core 4 are the only ones i stay up to date with now on social lmao) Its not bad tbf like the people who initially hated her look cant really say shit now 😂
I’m not... completely in love with it. Like dont get me wrong, Anna be looking bomb af and the suit is looking hella nice in terms of it doesnt look like some cheapo costume. Like im really happy she is finally getting the attention she deserves and I’m super happy that they didnt half ass her suit. I was gonna be pissed if they did considering the suit quality the pigeons got and Nightwings suit got too.
I love the colours and I love the warrior vibe of it but I dont like the fact its like... such a full suit? Kory notoriously has skin showing in practically all her outfits in comics and games and shows and movies etc which obviously ties into her needing exposure to the sunlight to charge her powers. (Im not here for her basically naked suits; im looking at you new 52 outlaws 🙄) So I dont really love that they have covered her as much as they have but its not that major tbh. I like her new hairstyle, despite gonna miss her s2 hair; i really liked that one tbh. Tho, im hoping its more red than in pics i have seen so far? They all make her hair look like dark brown or black and that’s a bummer if it is since yknow, kory has red hair. 😂
I am liking the Kory look for S3 tbf. Im still not gonna watch it lmao cos im just not up for setting myself up for disappointment yet again like i did with s2. I have a bit of hope now the suit has been revealed that Kory gets her spotlight LIKE SHE FUCKING DESERVES. (I really hate that Kory is seemingly never a centre stage in anything >.>) but i still dont think people are gonna get dickkory content like they think they are 🤷🏻♀️ I heard from multiple people that Kory has a new love interest for s3 as well so its like 🙃🙃🙃
Anyway, i went all negative. Sorry. 😂
No, overall I do like the Kory look for S3. But tbf, Titans can never fuck up that badly. Kory is my favourite character in every media format and even Titans S1 had me rooting for her but thats mostly Anna cos shes an adorable queen. 👑
I’m so fucking glad that they have been hyping the suit reveal up over the weekend and bigging Anna up for the loveliness she is tho. After all the shit she went thru with this show to start with, its really nice to see so much love being poured her way and she 100000% deserves the love.
Honestly, its a good look and I like it; happy for all the Anna/Kory fans with the suit reveal ☺️ 🔥
#she lookin super fab#i do like how royal her suit looks tbf#showing that Tamaranean streak#we love to see it#👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼#oh side note bc i always get someone#if someone tries fucking arguing with me over MY opinion on this after being directly asked by someone#ima just block your ass#aint got time for that dumbass petty shit lmao

I'm not a fan of Meg's outfit at the Thanksgiving service, but her posture and glow is really doing everything to distract me. Like I like how it looks from behind, and in motion (starting to think it's a trend lol I felt the same about her NAACP dress) but it's just not my favourite. I do love the trench coat on its own though, over a power suit I think it would be amazing. Tbf she's competing with her Coulda Had a Bad B tour jewel-toned wardrobe which I really hoped was making a comeback, but I think she's wary of causing a stir. I know people will talk about her no matter what, but I also get the sense that she's doing her best while she's there to minimize it by giving them nothing at all.
That's an interesting analysis! So far we've had an navy look and now this gorgeous soft grey, so definitely not the brilliant jewel tones of the farewell tour. Perhaps she's going for more of a "quietly dignified" aura this time. I could definitely see she was a little nervous today, poor Meg, but she still held her head high and gave us a great lesson in elegance. I think the distinctive details of her outfit helped give her a lil boost (fashion really can change the way you carry yourself!), and she seemed to relax once she was settled in (love that they sat with their friends Eugenie and Jack). The outfit today was more "royal" and less "free" than, say, Mountbatten Music Festival, but still more freely herself than a lot of her stiff, meek outfits when she was a full royal. I don't know, it seemed like a really good balance to me!

FF7R: The Cloud Narrative
While in the middle of one of my replays that involved making different choices for Cloud to get other stuff, I started thinking, “What would Cloud choose?”
And that got me thinking some more about the fact we say it's all what Cloud would choose, but really, it's what we pick to get the best story that suits our preferences.
And since I'm that kind of dork, I decided to replay and let Cloud's personality and development lead me to make the choices so I could try and see what Cloud would've chosen if he had autonomy. It makes for a slightly different game than the one I usually play, but it was fun really thinking over the options and deciding how Cloud would react to every situation and whether he'd choose to engage with it or not.
I didn't actually remember to grab every screenshot of my playthrough, so some of these are from Youtube, but the decisions I say I made are the ones I made because why would I lie?
Ok, let's mosey...
Spoiler warning for ppl who haven’t played – do I still need to do this? Eh ok, (I tag FF7R spoilers as final fantasy 7 remake spoilers) and it’s gonna be long.
The opening decision is in Chapter 2 when we first meet Aerith. None of these decisions affect anything within the game to do with the resolution, it just makes either girl react differently to Cloud.
I'm sure some people would argue he'd buy it because Aerith, but he doesn't know her, has no obligation to be nice to her – especially compared to the Avalanche crew who he needed to rely on back in the reactor and he was a dick to them – he's in a rush and has no reason to buy flowers unless people want to assume he already had Tifa in mind the moment Aerith mentioned it. If we do choose the option to buy it right away, Aerith flirts a little and slots the flower into Cloud's shoulder strap over his heart. We get none of the extended dialogue if we choose this option. For those people who say the more someone talks is a sign of canon, this would make the “how much” option the non-canon choice because it contains the least amount of dialogue and time they spend together.
If we choose “I'm good,” then we hear Aerith insisting he takes it by saying, “When was the last time you saw a real one,” and adding that “it'll make your girlfriend's day.”
Then we get the automatic line from Cloud that happened when we originally chose “how much.”
After some more dialogue from Aerith another choice occurs, one which can make Cloud sound like a royal shitbag or not.
I think everyone would agree that Cloud purposely pissing off a total stranger is out of character, and if you choose the second option he doesn't actually speak and Aerith goes straight into her line about how “lovers used to give these when they were reunited.”
For my choices as Cloud I said, “I'm good,” and then when she insisted, I agreed to take it because to me – and this is how I always answer – it feels the most Cloud kind of answer.
Chapter 3
The next choice Cloud's presented with is during chapter 3 when Tifa offers him a drink. No matter which choice you make he calls Tifa beautiful as the outcome.
By answering “something hard” Tifa goes into her cocktail making routine before pouring Cloud a drink that looks suspiciously like piss, but is actually meant to represent the colour of his hair. Hard and bitter. Like him. He doesn't like it. Colour me shocked. She then goes on to make the red drink that's a representation of her eye colour. This is when Cloud raises the glass and makes the “beautiful” comment.
If you choose the refuse option, Tifa replies that “if you were in the mood” and then goes into the same drinks making routine as the first option, with the exact same dialogue and outcome between them. (And now I know it's almost identical I wonder why the devs did it? It seems like a straw man option tbf. There's no real choice or changes to the dialogue and it's like it's been put there to give the illusion of it being optional).
Since Cloud is secretly into Tifa I figured he'd choose “something hard and bitter” as a way to try and show off how tough he is. However, it’s worth noting that Cloud isn’t a big drinker and only drinks when he’s in a low mood. He’s pretty happy here, so I’d say in general he wouldn’t drink, but because he’s only recently reunited with Tifa he still wants to impress her. So yeah, to drink.
The next chance for Cloud to have a choice concerns the chapter 3 side quests that open up the alone at last which goes towards choosing a dress for Tifa later in chapter 9. If you don't finish the quests or miss alone at last you always get Tifa's blue dress and moon charm earring. That is her canon outfit.
The quests for chapter 3 are all monster related apart from one – which I'll get to in a minute.
Chadley's report involves scanning monsters for data and killing them. Rat problem comes from the item vendor and involves killing doomrats.
Nuisance in the factory involves killing drakes.
On the prowl involves going after a shinra dog thing
Just flew in from the graveyard involves a larger drake.
These are all the type of job that Cloud would accept without thinking about it too much. He's a merc, he's getting paid to kill monsters. It'll show off his skills and build his rep and as Tifa says, the better his rep the more he gets paid. These five quests are ones Cloud would take because that's the type of person he thinks he should be. The monster slayer.
As for quest 4, lost friends, I initially said that Cloud would avoid this because it involves two things he isn't good with: kids and animals. Now, I've heard from people that by AC Cloud is actually pretty good around kids, and I agree, he's got a lot of love from them by this point. But that's at least two years away from now and he's not even slightly good around kids and actively avoids them. Cats seem to have a grudge against him, too, at this point in the game – though Wedge's cat mellows towards him after he helps out. These were my reasons for deciding to avoid this quest because Cloud just wouldn't do it. Then, once I got to it, I realised the reason why Cloud would do it.
Tifa.
Tifa likes kids and animals. Now, as a respectful type of girl, she doesn't usually push Cloud to do things he doesn't want to. She's always considerate to his feelings and to others too. In this case, though, she's not focused on Cloud and if he'd want to do this job, but on helping out a little girl. Cloud's been running around doing jobs all morning, so Tifa's related him to the task of finding the cats.
Usually Cloud would refuse to something that's so obviously beneath his skills, but because it's Tifa who's asking, he agrees.
Alone at last triggers and we get to view a moment between Cloud and Tifa that ends in him choosing a dress for her. Alone as last is narrative canon whether we choose to see it or not because of other hints in the game that refer back to the conversation they had. While they talk about the past we get an above view of the rug that has a reunion flower pattern on it. Tifa and Cloud both take steps towards each other during this scene, which symbolises their closing the emotional distance that's between them.
This choice changes nothing about the game and only matters if you want to go for the dressed to the nines achievement.
If you choose the top option – for her canon outfit, Tifa replies “Yeah, I guess we aren't kids anymore.” If you choose the second option she says, “That's not much different to my regular style.”
If you choose the exotic outfit she says, “really?” and acts a little awkward about it.
She then asks Cloud to dress to match her. The dresses he wears during wall market all have a similar style to Tifa's options, showing he did dress to match her. The narrative canon choice for which dress Cloud eventually went with is something I'll be bringing up later.
By choosing the canon outfit option and getting Tifa's canon dialogue we get a reference to the fact they've known each other for a long time. This ties into the conversation they had which also touched on their shared history. This is a background development scene between them, but isn't necessary to know because we get other info about them over the rest of the game. This extra bit of dialogue is to increase our knowledge of Cloud and Tifa, both separately and together.
Chapter Four
Jessie’s bike ride, which isn’t optional in the sense you can choose how it goes. The result depends on how good you are at the minigame. However, since there’s three endings, this is a choice based result.
Are you, Cloud? Really? When did you get that SOLDIER mandatory training? Of the three optional endings, the narrative canon that makes the most sense is Cloud being really bad at it. This is his first time doing any of that, but it gives him the crash course he needs for later in the Shinra building when he does all those fancy moves. Cloud owes Roche some props for observational bike stunting.
Chapter Five
And our next canon narrative choice is between making Cloud look incompetent at his job or choosing to have an intimate moment with his one true love. Well, seeing how the cloti roll is in the ultimania we know this is the correct narrative choice.
Chapter 8
There's a long gap between chapter 5 and the next option we get for Cloud. Once we meet Aerith again and get her back to Sector 5, we go into her side quests and optional discovery. Aerith's side quests are tied to what dress she later wears during chapter 9.
The side quests for Aerith's chapter are split into groups of 3. This means that by unlocking one, you get the further quests on that branch. One branch is more of a Cloud oriented style set of quests, while the other involves the thing he doesn't do well around: kids.
Kids on patrol → A verified hero + Angel of the slums
Weapons on a rampage → Paying respects + moogle merchant.
If you don't complete kids on patrol first then the other two don't unlock. One of these further quests involves more kids and playing with them. Not really Cloud type activities and unlike with chapter 3 where he'd do something because Tifa asked, he's not got that type of relationship with Aerith that he'd be willing to do stuff that he doesn't want to just to impress her.
Breakdown of sidequests in sector 5 and NPC background dialogues.
Weapons on a rampage is more his style of quest, which leads to the NPC who set it to ask a further favour. This links to the next quest where you have to pay respects for the old man. The thing is, he doesn't have the graveyard key, which leads to the next quest where we have to go buy it off Moggie. This is the only kid related quest on this branch and it's over in moments. Cloud has the minimum amount of contact with Moggie and doesn't show any kind of tolerance towards her while he's talking. There's also no apology for his behaviour – unlike when he said to Tifa he was doing his best when she scolded him for being rude.
The way these quests are set out in blocks of three and the fact one half is heavily reliant on child interaction – which Cloud wouldn't do at this point in his development or association with Aerith – leads me to believe he wouldn't agree to these quests. This means the language of flowers discovery doesn't trigger and Aerith ends up in her second option dress – which I've theorised is her canon outfit because of its design similarity to the OG version, her reaction to the dress, the fact that in OG, Aerith chose her own dress, the hairstyle and accessory match the OG style and Cloud's reaction is a very Cloud reaction to have, compared to the other two outfits – the bad dress has dogs and rats following her and the red dress is so ott she's swarmed by fans, a red carpet and so on, but also her accessories don't fit her symbolism theme of flowers because she's wearing stars.
With all of the above in mind, I surmised Cloud would do the monster hunt branch of quests and quit while he was ahead.
Chapter 9
Where before we had a few choices happening, once we hit Wall Market we're inundated with options that affect Cloud's outfit later on. They also showcase what kind of morals Cloud has. Either way, it's canonically easier to get Chocobo Sam's pts higher than Madam M's, leading me to believe he is the canon narrative choice for this section and that Cloud's black and blue corset dress is the one he ends up wearing.
This contradicts my previous theory about the ultimania in which Cloud is shown very uncomfortable in the loli outfit, which led me to believe that was the one he ended up in if he made the choices in Wall Market. I now believe it's because if you pick this outfit it's his “bad ending”, worse than if you don't make any effort and get the plain black and grey dress.
The maximum amount of pts you can get from Chocobo Sam's options is 6.5, compared to Madam M's 5.
There are several people who offer you options during Wall Market.
The love hotel owner (not a Nojima self-insert lol).
Johnny (discovery) + before the first coloseum match – there's a bottle on the table and the choice is to drink or not.
Madam M x2
Sam x2
The first option you get in Wall Market happens before you've even entered the place. Sam asks you what the girl you're searching for looks like. No matter which option you choose, Sam says that Cloud has a crush on Tifa – which he doesn't deny.
If you choose the first option you get 1pt with Sam.
If you choose the second option you get 0pts
If you choose the 3rd option you get 1pt with Madam M.
I chose the first option because Cloud's a guy, with eyes, and the other two choices don't offer anything in the way of a physical description and if he's describing her to someone then he needs to actually describe what she looks like in some way. This is the only option that does that. It's also the only option that gets a different reaction out of Aerith, whereas the other two options have the same reaction from her.
This is the second option we can choose from and it's the love hotel guy (still not a Nojima self-insert). If you choose “no thanks,” this gets you 1pt with Sam and Aerith flirts with Cloud.
If you choose “how much?” you get a surprised “Cloud!” from Aerith and 1pt with Madam M.
If you choose “back off” you get 0pts and Aerith apologises on his behalf.
Of the 3 choices, I picked “back off” because it's the most Cloud appropriate choice.
Next, we have the Johnny discovery when he literally runs past you as you try to go to Don Corneo's for the first time. By following him to the Honey Bee, we get a lecherous dialogue from him and then a question about Cloud's own preferences. Would he go into the Honey Bee? If he agrees with Johnny, we get a slightly self-loathing assumption of a reply, whereas if we disagree, Johnny says that Cloud hasn't experienced anything yet. Either way, he runs off once he's finished.
By agreeing with Johnny you get 1pt for Sam.
If you don't agree you get 0pts.
I chose to disagree because Cloud isn't a lecherous pig and is actually pure af with no experience.
We learn from Leslie that the only way to get into an audition with Corneo is through the trio. Andrea Rhodea has a 3 year waiting list, so we don't even see him. So, we go back to Sam.
This is a hint that the following event with Sam is a load of bull. Johnny telling Cloud – if you interact with him – that he should've followed his gut is a hint that Cloud should trust his instincts. It’s also confirming that while Cloud is a total cheapskate who doesn’t do anything for free, he’s also a betting man who’ll think little of dropping 1000g on a sure thing (why 1000g? because that’s the amount he says to Barret in chapter 6, showing that while Cloud appreciates having money, he’ll also spend it.) Then it's around the corner to where Sam waits. Who, despite having already endorsed Tifa, says he's willing to help Aerith if she can guess the result of a coin toss.
Ofc it's rigged. But if you choose to gamble, it impresses Sam. You get 1.5 pts for choosing heads or tails. If you refuse to gamble then you get 0.5pts.
I believe the narrative choice is to pick heads, like Johnny suggested because he is the inner voice of Cloud and gives us hints as to real Cloud’s feelings at different points in the game. Either way, Cloud gets the coin and says he had a hunch about the result.
After this it's away to Madam M's and the most hilarious choice I've ever seen! I have to wait until the room's clear before choosing because it's a watch from behind a cushion moment lol
Madam M won't help Cloud unless he agrees to a massage. Since our SOLDIER boi doesn't like being forced into decisions and has issues around touch and intimacy, not to mention he's stingy af and wouldn't drop 3k on a massage when he's previously hounded people for a lot less money. But, he also doesn’t stop to think about spending money if it’s worth this while. 1000g doesn’t seem like much of a big deal to him, if it’s his standard amount of bet on a sure thing. He wants to save Tifa, so he’d likely go with the standard course. The other one alludes to him being a cheapskate like Aerith accused and there’s no reference to the luxury course anywhere in the game except here. This isn't something he's doing for pleasure, he's in Wall Market to save Tifa, so the things he's doing are a means to an end.
If you pick the luxury massage you get 2pts with Madam M.
If you pick the standard massage you get 1pt with Madam M
If you pick the poor man's massage you get 0pts.
I chose the standard course massage because I believe that's what Cloud would choose just to get Madam M to agree to help them.
The next choice comes right off the back of the massage at Madam M's and involves Cloud giving an opinion of Aerith's outfit.
If you choose the first option it gets you 1pt with Sam and a pleased reaction from Aerith.
If you choose the second option you get 0pts and an angry retort from Aerith.
If you choose the third option you get 1pt with Madam M and a middle of the road comment from Aerith. No matter which you choose, Madam M scolds you.
Since by this point in the game Cloud and Aerith are friendly enough for him to pass comment on her outfit, I could see him answering with the second choice, but not the first since he doesn't even notice what anyone's wearing let alone have an opinion on it. The third option sounds the most Cloud-centric choice, so that's what I picked.
The last option is for Cloud to drink an unknown substance or not while waiting for his match to start at the coliseum. Johnny gives the explanation of what it is, who it came from and what it potentially does.
By choosing to drink the mystery substance you get 1pt with Sam.
By ignoring the drink you get 0pts.
Since Cloud is the last person to put weird shit in his body I went with not drinking it.
The final tally for the options that Cloud gets set him on Chocobo Sam's side quests for the blue corset dress that matches Tifa's canon outfit – she said dress to match, remember? It's also the one that in the ultimania Cloud looks the most at ease in.
Chocobo Sam's sidequests are the ones that I got as a result of choosing the options I did. I believe this is the canon narrative that Cloud would take if he were choosing. After several playthroughs I did waver on whose quests seemed more the narrative canon. I began thinking Sam's were, but then the ultimania illustration of Cloud embarrassed in the satin dress led me to think Madam M's were the narrative canon. After playing both sets of side quests, I've come to the conclusion that Sam's would be the narrative choice if Cloud were making the decisions.
Having Cloud's choices result in Sam's side quests we get burning thighs (appears in both), the party never stops and a dynamite body.
Burning thighs is the squats contest that echoes the OG storyline. We meet Andrea's little brother, Jules – who is totally not staring at Cloud's ass through the entire minigame while encouraging him. This side quest touches on egos and being cocky – which Cloud can be. It's a humble pie moment, which is another life lesson that Cloud needs to learn also.
The party never stops features the return of Johnny, who appears as we leave the dressmaker's son who's the originator for the quest. We're sent over into the bar, where we can collect the Midgar Blues single for the cd achievement. This song is canonically Cloud and Tifa's romantic theme in Advent Children. Once we meet the dressmaker, we're sent over to the materia guy who wants “the sauce” in exchange for “inspiration”.
This sidequest is a bunch of tongue in cheek dick jokes and it's hilarious! It's also alludes to the fact that Cloud has zero experience since he had a crush on Tifa until he left the village, spent his time pining for her as a grunt, then got stuffed in a test tube and was in a coma for five years. Ofc he blusters his way through it, handling his balls and making comments about how he doesn't need lessons on “whipping it out”. Oh you poor sweet boi.
Once we get the sauce – fun fact there's no picture in the inventory of it when you get it – and we hand off to the materia guy (unintentional pun but I'm leaving it in now I've done it – and that one) we head over to the next weirdo on the list. The chef. Who literally poisons all of his customers. I suspect he and the pharmacy guy are in cahoots. He poisons people, the pharmacy guy cures them and they both get rich.
The chef asks Cloud to help fix the problem with his kitchen – but from npcs around it sounds like it's just his cooking that's the issue. It doesn't matter which option you pick, Johnny still gets food poisoning. Even if you max your materia, nothing changes. Cloud doesn't even offer the options, Johnny does the talking.
Once we're done with the killer chef, it's over to the pharmacy guy, who asks Cloud to go and deliver medicine. If you maxed your cleansing materia you get 3 packets of meds. The only one that matters is the guy in the pub bathroom since that moves the side quest along. The others are optional, but increase Cloud's rep about town since he's helping more people.
The pharmacy guy gives Cloud a Honey Bee Inn VIP pass, which is the dressmaker's inspiration. Once that's handed back, Cloud chats to the dressmaker's son, who caps the side quest off with the below screen.
This is a reference to the dream that Cloud had during chapter 8 where his mother mentioned he should have a mature girlfriend. This is the contradicting opinion that balances that. The dressmaker's son saying age doesn't equal maturity is referencing Tifa – since these quests are the ones that get you the matching dress to her canon one. This is the same as the Midgar Blues playing in the pub. These are Tifa centric quests, which is the entire reason Cloud's in Wall Market to begin with.
The last quest is a dynamite body, which comes from Sam. Tifa has a bomb bracelet on her default weapon that is part of a matching pair with her chocobo bracelet. Tifa is represented by “da bomb” and everyone knows Cloud’s a chocobo head. This quest is referencing cloti, and a comment from the announcer using a mixed metaphor mentions putting on shades.
Afterwards Same tries to hand Cloud his cut of the prize money and Cloud says he's there for Tifa, not money. Sam replies that Cloud has changed since his arrival and could likely storm Corneo's place all by himself to save Tifa. He also mentions that Tifa is a bombshell and Cloud goes to confront him by taking a step forward and saying “Hey.” This is Cloud stepping up to people sexually objectifying Tifa.
Once the quests are done, it's back to Corneo's where Cloud considers breaking in – like Sam suggested – but Leslie uses Cloud's feelings for Tifa against him by saying Corneo could hurt her if he does anything he shouldn't. This isn’t the first time Cloud’s emotionally blackmailed in Wall Market.
Cloud backs down, but is now operating under the sense that Corneo is a lot more dangerous than he first thought, and he's sending Aerith in. Aerith. Who's useless in a fight. He's now thinking that he'd have to go in and save them both, which is why he says to Aerith that he's not letting her go alone.
We've now reached the point where Cloud's earlier refusal to do kid related quests gives us the result with Aerith's dress. Her theme has been given a slightly rock vibe, which is SOLDIER Cloud appropriate, and the design is something that she has chosen – this is in line with her OG dress which she chose herself. She also has a large hair bow, similar hairstyle to OG and her flower symbolism throughout – compared to the red dress which has stars that haven't been associated with her at any point. The straps on the pink dress – which is her signature colour – also match the straps on the OG design. Johnny’s around throwing cherry blossom petals, which match several of her abilities and are a reference to Zack. Aerith wore this dress for Zack. This is her Zack date dress. This leads me to believe that this is her canon narrative outfit.
The accompanying blocking to this scene is also more realistic than the other two.
Cloud's reaction to the dress is suitably Cloud. His jaw drops a little and he gets a bit soft voiced when talking to Aerith, though it's a quick moment that ends when he asks why she left Madam M's.
And now we're at the point where Cloud has to impress Andrea Rhodea. As long as you get 112pts in his dance sequence (great = 2, good = 1) then Cloud will wear the earrings with his dress, no matter which one it is.
This is the last choice you have and it's the tie breaker between the two girls if you chose to do all of the side quests for them. By choosing Aerith you get her resolution later in chapter 14, but in the meantime you get a short dialogue and then Tifa wakes up.
If you choose Tifa, this goes towards her resolution in chapter 14, but in the meantime you get a longer dialogue concerning the imminent dangers in sector 7 and also she questions Cloud about his relationship with Aerith. This is referencing all of the strange things about Aerith from her initial touch to Cloud’s wrist letting him see the whispers, to the whispers attacking them later in sector 7, to her not letting him leave sector 5, to her crying and wanting to go with him. Tifa’s question makes Cloud suspicious. It’s not romantically motivated on her part because her focus is on saving sector 7.
Cloud doesn't get a chance to answer, as Aerith wakes up.
Chapter 12
Technically not a choice -- in fact it implies the opposite -- because if you run the timer out in chapter 12 at the top of the pillar nothing happens. This is a message that all previous timed events were optional because that’s what the players wanted. This is saying that no matter if you try to choose to ignore Tifa or Barret or any of the plot, that the game will wait for you to move. There are no consequences to running this timer down because it’s implying that the time for optional choices has passed. Narrative canon only will commence from this point on.
The last optional choice in the game comes a lot later with the stairs and elevator, so anything that Cloud says or does between then is canon. All of the resolutions are canon, but we're only able to view one at a time because of how the game operates. Cloud is the witness to the resolutions because they’re Barret, Tifa’s and Aerith’s resolutions.
Barret's resolution is first because the lighting is much brighter indicating it's earlier in the night.
After that comes Tifa's resolution, which is much later in the night, but well before dawn.
The last resolution is Aerith's and she indicates that it's almost morning at the end of hers.
All resolutions are canon
Aerith's resolution is hinted at by Mirielle during the lost wallet and Kyrie sidequests.
Tifa's resolution is hinted at by Tifa, through Leslie in the chapter 14 intel gathering main quest where you hunt down Don Corneo. Tifa relates Leslie's fiancee's necklace to a symbol of reunion. Since the necklace has a reunion flower on it, that she's seen, and the only time she mentions learning about the meaning of that flower is during her resolution, this is the confirmation of it having happened. Also, the fact that Cloud was about to mention the meaning, then stopped because he thought it might embarrass Tifa – who'd been in a vulnerable state at the time – shows that he was aware of both the meaning and the resolution and Tifa's feelings.
Chapter 16
Last choice in the game and it’s between the stairs and the elevator. And as much as I love the stairs, Mayor Domino tells us later on that the stuff in the elevator is what happened.
Feel bad for Cloud having to confront his claustrophobia with Tifa there. He’s not happy at all by the time they reach the top.
In Conclusion.
Playing as though Cloud were the one making the choices was a lot harder than I thought. I tend to choose things either as he would, or close enough in most cases, but there were some choices that had me stopping to debate which was the right choice. Cloud's character development is a slow process and even though I know he's got a whole kid army in AC, I couldn't resolve that with his current personality, so that led me to avoiding the kid quests. This revealed that Aerith should have worn her pink dress in the narrative and the scene between them when she reveals it feels a very narrative canon type of scene.
Tifa's dress is the same no matter what. I also believe she'd be the narrative choice in the sewers over Aerith because of the content of her dialogue and the fact real!Cloud has a crush on her still. He often checks in with her to make sure she's ok and he has an overriding urge to support and comfort her even when he doesn't know how. The way she lands in the sewers is echoed later in several other falls, but there’s one in the opening of chapter 13 where she’s got her arm under her head. This is because Cloud positioned her that way after she got knocked out. This shows he’d go to her if he saw her hurt.
All of the events, options and side quests culminate in Tifa's resolution being the main narrative option we see, with Aerith and Barret as a second and third option through replay choices, though all three do happen. From Cloud’s pov, though, the important one is Tifa because that’s the person he cares about the most. You only get Barret’s resolution by being a closed off asshole and Aerith’s if you act out of character and more like Zack, which is what Aerith wants. The quest dialogue with Leslie shows the resolutions happened, which makes them narrative canon.
People can disagree with this, but I found the narrative canon a really enjoyable way to play – once I got over messing up in wall market with the dress and had to start again (the choices are hard lol). Seeing events through Cloud's eyes, instead of being like some puppet master telling him what to do so I could get the story I wanted to see, was a really fun way to play. I definitely recommend it!

main masterlist
for the lovely Anon who’s requested #72 & #19 with Ray baby
this is smutty, which tbf is the closest i’ll probably ever get to actual smut, so there’s a warning: sexual themes obviously. i’m probably going to have to start tagging these the thirst is real just bc it is.
72. Don’t you dare.
19. Scream all you want. No one can hear you.
Y/N is stuck at one of Mickey’s parties again. For all the love she holds for evening dresses and seeing Ray in a three piece suit, she will never get around to these bloody evenings where she’s surrounded by dying men and mouldy-smelling women. The wannabes are even worse, with their arse licking and their forced Royal accents, of which Olivia Coleman would be jealous. Wankers, the lot of them.
Raymond takes a seat next to her, handing over the flute of bubbly he’s promised half an hour ago. What she hates most about these parties is how much networking he has to do, and she’s goddamned tired of being dragged along and displayed like a crown jewel for the sake of appearances. She still can’t understand how Rosalind stands it.
“I’m sorry, love. Lord Maxwell decided this is the right place to remind me about their rat problem and wanted to know if we can pay them earlier this year.”
He’s leaned forward onto his seat, close enough that he can place a hand on her thigh. He was wary of the high slit when they left the house, but he now supposes it has its advantages. His eyes follow the curve of her bare neck, hair tied in a curled bun at her nape, so he doesn’t miss the heavy sigh she lets out or the long sip of champagne.
“Can we just go home now?” She says, lips wet with alcohol. “We’ve done our part. Mickey can manage by himself until the end of the night.”
“You know we can’t leave yet.”
There’s a flash of annoyance in her eyes, but she doesn’t press further. Instead, she sets her glass on the table and stands up in a flurry of silk. Her hand finds his shoulder and she whispers in his ear as he stares at the lipstick stains on the flute in front of him. “I’m going to make my own fun then.”
Ten minutes later, while he’s discussing some political affair, Raymond feels something pressed into his free hand. To his left, Y/N smiles brightly up at him, proud of whatever she’s been up to. He shoves his hand into his pocket, feeling around the material, as Y/N wraps her fingers around his forearm, easily slipping into the discussion. The men are shocked at the insights she shares on the subject, but Raymond cannot focus on that at the moment. There’s lace in his pocket – and a subtle glance at her confirms that it’s the pair of black knickers she put on earlier that night.
“Excuse me, gentlemen.” Ray clears his throat. “I must ask you to pardon us for a moment, my fiancée is not feeling well.”
He doesn’t even care that they all know it’s a blatant lie, all he cares about is getting Y/N alone in a dark corner. A hand splayed over the small of her back, and they make their way through the throngs of people, as they both offer fake smiles and nod politely left and right. There’s still a noticeable smirk plastered on Y/N’s face and Ray’s teeth hurt from clenching his jaw so tightly.
“You promised me you’ll be a good girl tonight.” He growls lowly.
“And you promised me you’ll not leave my side to talk boring shite with snooty putrid old men.”
Raymond mentally thanks his luck when he manages to push her into an empty room on the first floor without meeting anyone who ‘absolutely must speak with him right this moment.’ He locks the door and rubs at his eyes under his glasses – he swears this woman will be the death of him. And just in case he wasn’t entirely sure about that statement, when he looks at her, Y/N is splayed on one of the couches, shamelessly smirking at this turn of events.
He has to take a deep breath as his pupils dilate at her bare legs, view unobstructed by the silk dress. He’s painfully aware that she’s not wearing any knickers, although he can’t see it, so he takes out the lacy underwear from his pocket with a raised eyebrow.
“I thought I told you this was an important dinner.”
“Oh, come off it. You always say that. Besides…” She starts and standing up, her heels stop right in front of him as her fingers slip under the lapels of his jacket, up to his neck. “We never got to christen Mickey’s new manor.”
Raymond grabs her wrists and shakes his head, which only earns him another roll of her eyes and a scoff. “Or I can just go back down there and let that cute bartender take me home.”
“Don’t you dare.” Raymond snarls.
The mischief in her eye pisses him off, and although he knows she would never do something like that, only the thought of it enrages him. Pulling her harshly by the back to his chest, his free hand travels from around her throat to her lips. His thumb pushes open her mouth, and he’s more than pleased by the quickening of her breath. He should know better than to taunt her though, because the next second, she takes his thumb in her mouth, sucking on it while maintaining eye contact.
“You want it that bad, baby?” He whispers.
She doesn’t have time to respond before his right hand lands roughly on her arse. The silk material does nothing to soften the sting and she whines, completely losing her balance and falls into his arms. That mewl is his undoing, so, unable to restrain himself, Raymond shoves her into the wall behind him, face pressed to the cold surface.
“Scream all you want. No one can hear you.” He says after she cries out in a mixture of delight and outrage.
He bunches up her dress to her hips with one hand, while the other does quick work of unbuckling his belt and shoving down his pants. He doesn’t hear her warning that he’s going to crease the gown, because her bare arse is right there in front of him.
With a lick of his lips, he leans into her, fingers grazing lightly right where she wants him. She whimpers once more and he sucks the skin at her throat.
“You’re soaking wet for me, baby.” He grunts. “Tell me what you want.”
“Please, Ray. Please, please, please fuck me, please.”
“Anything for you, baby.”

heyhey! so tbh i’m the worst and really just couldn’t resist it, so here’s my second baby taeil and he is definitely not like koda anyway.. like he’s an asshole honestly. but he’s also possibly my longest muse i’ve ever had and like i just always bring him back apparently! he’d just been revamped many a times yes.
either way, under the cut i’ll hit you up w a summary ( for once ), and if you wanna plot then like this, and i’m also on discord if u wanna slide in there! also pro & bio
tw: abuse, murder, death, fire, suicide, drug & alcohol abuse
i’m gonna say real quick now, that his entire past and history is a mystery to majority of people..? like unless it’s plotted they know, then it’s kinda just ??? yup
but okay
he was raised in an abusive household– his farther had gotten removed from military service for violence / drugs so he took it out on taeil and his mother
ran away with his mother when he was 8 and they lived on the streets of busan for a few months before his grandparents got them a small apartment after finding out
mother remarried when he was 10, his life turned from rags to riches only not in the good way because his mother never paid attention to him from then on, too busy doting on his new 2 year old step-sister. he literally became a ghost to her bcos she just wouldn’t even look at him, she was like lookin past him
13 and he set fire to his room thinking he could scare her into paying attention– the plan goes wrong as his room is engulfed quicker than he thought and after getting severe burns on his hands and legs ( to the point he’s lost most sense of touch in his hands and feet because of how the skin burnt.. so he can’t feel most things he touches and stuff ) he jumps out the window– everyone in the house but him dies and taeil honestly feels no guilt
moved in with his aunt and uncle and cousin after that ( when he first came to nampo ), the only guilt he felt was to his mother because he really did love her
became really really close with his cousin while he was in seoul, but his aunt and uncle ain’t too fond of this kid for obvious reasons and because taeil was definitely not their ideal image but they still forced him into suits and shit for public reputation tbh ( like also made him do classical music so it’s surprising but he can play violin and piano.. he just doesn’t advertise that )
high school first year and he starts getting into using weed as a coping mechanism, fits in with the outcasts of his school and starts getting into fights a lot. as it comes to the end of the year he’s drinking a lot more as well, and he gets into fights nearly every day, in and out of school. ( the only upside is he meets his best friend who grounds the hell of him )
second year is worse and he’s onto higher class drugs, addicted as hell to them and alcohol and he’s just fighting all the time, getting suspended all the time and just nobody can stop him. he’s sleeping around as well, like picks up random people for sex until he gets a boyfriend near the end of the year who started as a fwb
also should be pointed out here that over second year and into his next year, especially following the accident in the point below, taeil tries to kill himself all the time and the self harm is major in what he does, his depression is as destructive as he is. but it’s easy to say that within 2 years taeil will have tried to kill himself over 40 times
he gets into a motorbike accident one night into his last year and his cousin dies instead of him– aka fuel him more into his destructive life style as his aunt and uncle kick him out. he isn’t allowed to attend the funeral and his bf now spends like every day fighting with him and trying to get him to stop
one night they have a really bad fight where he accuses taeil of turning into his father bcos he was abusing his bf honestly and it causes him to actually stop and think– it’s a hard process but over the year his bf weens him off the drugs and alcohol because taeil was still pushing away the idea of rehab tbh but he does get to a little bit of a stable point for that time
after high school though, taeil allows himself to be forcefully put into rehab for his addictions, and he does try really hard actually
which is now a good time to point a major thing that taeil is terrified of hospitals / sterile environments - just shit like that - like full on make him have panic attacks and throw up sometimes and it’s just bad like he’s so scared of them. a big reason for it is bcos of the cousin’s death, as well as his many suicide attempts, but either way, they are difficult for him ( like to the point he will not go near a hospital unless there is a serious emergency or it’s to do with his kids, but they scare him that badly )
but by 20 he is clean off drugs and almost like a new person honestly because he’s moved back to seoul, and his idea of opening a dance studio becomes reality as he opens ‘the royals dance studio’ ( it’s vvv much like 1million dance )
and now is a good time to point out taeil is real fuckin rich but by nothing of his own doing like it’s literally bcos of his best friend and ex bf ( who he broke up with at the end of high school ) since they basically supply him with cash since he just can’t work a normal fckn job, but he stores it in an account he and his best friend share ( they’re vvv close ) so they kind just share it out - but no one really knows tbh
but yea he opens that, and then taeil also becomes the adoptive father of two twins that are actually his best friends kids, but his best friend and his gf weren’t ready, and it was a big sign of trust bcos taeil has always wanted to have kids, but never believed he’d have them? he wants to prove he can be a good father + do smthing right ( but they’re twin girls called sunhee & sunjun and they’re 6 )
and yea, since then he’s mostly just focused on his dancing and his kids, and he’s pretty famous choreographer now and he works with a big company too, but like he helps to train idols, choreograph dances and just works with big places. he also runs classes and shit too, and has a dance club that is free for anyone to come to esp for those looking for an escape ( like he’s gotten large praise for helping kids find ways to release anger, or show how they feel through dance )
he does a lot of mental health awareness too tbh and drug and alcohol awareness stuff too
BUT basically in terms of the situation now, taeil came back for the trip basically. like he got told from a friend and decided to come back for it, and he brought his girls with him but they were staying with a close friend that didn’t wanna go ( and tbf taeil didn’t feel up to going either he kinda just got dragged into it ). so yea.. his girls were not with him, and therefore are now gone and taeil is.. messed up
basically the progress he’s made since becoming clean and starting over away from it all has like near shattered bcos he’s beginning to pick up the drink again and drugs if he can and he’s restraining as much as he can but he literally just lost everything, not to mention he was staying outside of town to so he doesn’t even have an actual place to go or any of his stuff. so he’s kinda somewhat back to the person he was in high school just not as bad, but also at the same time worse in his own ways bcos he’s older now and he can be crueller
either way, he ain’t about the system, will not follow rules someone applies to him and he doesn’t give a shit about you unless you’re his daughters ( that being said obvs can be plotted out he has close friends and stuff. there are interesting plots that can be done with taeil anyway )
either way.. personality wise he’s an asshole for the most part, but he’s a lot more chll than he used to be he can just come off grumpy ( is becoming the cruel asshole again tho )
kids make him gentle af tho
he’s vv tsundere
either way, baby grew up in seoul til 8 - moved to busan til 13 - then nampo til 20 and back to seoul
