The OP of the post I originally wrote this as a reblog for seems to have blocked this sideblog (which stops me from reblogging from them on this blog but doesn't actually stop me from seeing it in the tag, so I didn't realize that until I tried to hit post on the reblog and it wouldn't let me), but it's a good post, so I'm posting it as its own original post even though my principle is to not vagueblog. Sorry. If I physically could respond directly I would be doing so.
Anyway the original post was saying that rejecting p-shifters from nonhuman and alterhuman spaces is "erasing your own history", and I just... this is just categorically not true. Self-proclaimed p-shifters, people who claim to physically shapeshift in capital-R shared Reality, have basically never been accepted in most nonhuman or alterhuman spaces, primarily because there's a long, long history of that label being used dominantly by people a) pulling young nonhumans, especially therians, into cults, cult-adjacent groups, and other abusive situations by dangling the impossible carrot of p-shifting in front of them and b) worsening psychosis symptoms of others by refusing to properly mark for unreality (because, of course, a p-shifter claims it's not unreality at all).
There is an argument to be had about both delusion-based nonhumanity and philosophical physical nonhumanity (ie "I am nonhuman, this is my body, therefore this is a nonhuman body") having a history in the otherkin and therian communities. P-shifters, however, are another matter entirely. I don't think I've ever seen a nonhuman space accept p-shifters that wasn't, well, run by p-shifters trying to pull people into cult scenarios.

( Notice: OKAY - The pic there says ‘The Hobbit/LOTR’ but for times sake, and my own sanity, there is none listed thus-far (same goes for the ‘other’ category’). Merci for understanding! )
So I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, and I already have a blog for it ( @nemosrepost ) but that doesn’t get too much attention. Thus, here we are!
(This was a nightmare to get done - it took weeks to get all the links and pics done up in my spare time - I hope you appreciate that.)
They’re all sorts here, from Medieval Marvel AU’S, to Modern Attack on Titan one shots. They’re all organised via fandom, and I’ve tried my best to link and tag everything properly, but that is a difficult feat, so beware - for some it may not have worked too well.
Like my *actual* masterlist, this will be updated regularly with new fic recs, and even new characters and fandoms as I read them. All fic’s currently listed (as of November 26, 2020) are found on my reblog account.
I’ve also tried to add in a ‘recommendation summary’ thing of each - so basically just my thoughts on the fic(s). But anyway, have fun browsing, and overall - enjoy!
(AND also - LMAOOOO - Have fun scrolling lololololol!) - Nemo
( Pre - Warning: I am not tagging anything as NSWF, 18+, or triggering content. However some fics listed do contain such material. Please refer to the warnings or Authors Notes on each Fic before reading. Stay safe guys! I love you! )
Bluebellhairpin’s Masterlist
Tumblr media
Bucky Barnes
Knight in Rusty Armour - Medieval / A/B/O AU! Series - by @revengingbarnes Honestly I binged the first eight chapters (+ prologue) in close to one sitting. That was mostly because that was all that was published at the time. It is completed now. I love both these AU’s, and I love Bucky - win, win!
Flowers Bloom - Soulmate AU! Series - by revengingbarnes  Another great series, and honestly I’m a slut for soulmate au’s, so this author might be coming after my heart - keep up that good work, if you know what I mean.
The Great Build Up - Modern / Firefighter Au! One Shot - by @thottybarnes  This ones goes from cute, to hot and steamy, to angsty, and back to cute again. A one shot rollercoaster, and I thoroughly enjoyed every word of it.
Maybe This Time - Mob Au! One Shot - by @propertyofpoeandbucky Okay, so if there’s one thing I like more than an mobster au, it’s adding children into the mix. Something about big bad guys going all soft for this tiny human - and then making them - and that’s called perfection.
Whatever It Takes - Biker AU! One Shot - by @sgtjbuccky He like’s to be loud, so what. He rides a bike, so what. I what to ride him and his bike, so what.
(Un-Named) - One Shot - by @softlybarnes  I’ve never liked Bucky’s metal arm more in my entire life. Using it for a baby going through teething? A+ idea.
Hero, Waiting - Medieval AU! One Shot -  by captain-ariel-barnes Sadly, this fic is unavailable now, and that - obviously - makes me sad. But I’m adding it her anyway because of how much I adored it. The love triangle between Bucky, Reader, and Steve was amazing, and the feelings? Phenomenal.
Steve Rogers
If Walls Could Talk - One Shot - by propertyofpoeandbucky  I’ll recreate my original comment on this fic - ‘Ouch’. And that’s all I have to say about that.
The End of the War - College AU! One Shot - by @redgillan There’s nothing quite like a enemies to lovers trope that’s well-written. But then throw in fight club, a jerk date, ice-cream and pizza - just read it. You’ll understand then.
The Edge of the Water - Mermaid AU! Series - @floatingpetals I have to admit now, I haven’t read all of this yet. But I also have to say, what I have read was fantastic. Mermaids - and Mermen - they just hit different, you know?
Pseudo Princess - Medieval AU! Series - by @shreddedparchment To date, it’s one of the best fics - nay - stories I’ve ever read. I’d dare to say it’s easily the length of a novel, so if you’re up for the long haul, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s worth the wait - trust me. Op obviously put a hella lot of work into it, and it shows.
Loki Laufeyson
Loki’s Happy Ending - Series (?) - by @gingerwritess  Listen, I have been and forever will be a Loki girl. Nothing will change that. And every scrap of content Theo produces for Loki I will cradle in my palms and keep warm until they’re ready to go out into the world or whatever - point is, read this.
Just One Quick Glance - One Shot - by @imagines-trashcan  After watching ‘Endgame’, and squealing at every moment Loki appeared on screen, only to not have him show up in the final battle - this was one of my comfort fics.
thunderstorms. - One Shot - by @tarynkauai Naturally, Loki’s child would inherit his unease of thunderstorms. And naturally, seeing Loki as a dad makes me happy.
Stitches - One Shot - by @lokibug  Loki being nice. I like that. We stan.
Quentin Beck
The Curveball - One Shot - by @healingchurch  Listen, this is on here for a reason. I didn’t really like Mysterio ‘cause of what he did to Peter, but hey, some people are good actors, and some write characters acting very well.
Stephen Strange
(Un-Named) - Imagine / One Shot - by @archieimagines A cocky bastard and a shy Reader, as far as I’m concerned that a one-way ticket straight to my heart. *wink wonk*.
(Un-Named) - One Shot - by @whirlybirbs  Honestly, there are multiple fics of hers on this list, and that’s because she’s a damn fine writer, and her stories are just that addictive. This one is no different. I was preparing to read more and then it ended. But all good things, right?
Crash and Burn - One Shot - by @lilyswritings  The angst, and the angst. I cry, you cry, everyone cries. Unfortunately there is only the one part, but much to my personal joy that means I can interpret the after-ending however I want!
Frank Castle
(Un-Named) - One Shot - by @alexsunmners This is just cute okay? I have no other words except this was plain and simply very, very, very nice to read, and that it makes me feel very soft right here on the inside.
Peter Parker
Super Smooth Genius - One Shot (?) - by whirlybirbs  Back at it again with the cute, awkward, friendly, neighbourhood, Peter Parker.
Just Don’t - Soulmate AU! One Shot - by @papel-creativo What’d I tell you about soulmate au’s? I can’t resist them. And of course Pete being a caring bf with his hero s/o. So nice.
Ronan the Accuser
Make You Proud - One Shot - by @kayleighhalliday2203 This is justifiable because I was going through a Lee Pace faze and I found it and loved it immediately.
Ultron
(Un-Named) - One Shot / Series - by @snarky-badger This I can also justify having read, because (and if you know me then you know) the robot thing ... Doesn’t bother me as much as it should. And I binged all of it on ao3, so.
Tumblr media
Poe Dameron
(Un-Named) - Masterlist - by propertyofpoeandbucky Okay, I know there’s a lot on this list, and it could take you a while to get through it all, but trust me - it’s worth it. Lani likes Poe, and it shows. He’s written so well.
Dashing - One Shot / Series ? - by whirlybirbs Birbs does it again. She’s got Punchy!Reader, and if there were a legal way to get all of this Poe thing down into a written book, I’d do it.
You Can See Me? - Modern / Ghost AU! One Shot - by @tintinwrites I just this this one’s really cool. And what Poe does for the reader at the end? So sweet! He would totally do that!
Across the Hall - Modern / Nurse AU! Series - by @starryeyedstories  It’s cute, it’s fun, it’s got tension, and a little drama - plus a smidge of angst and Corgi!BB-8. If perfection were ever made into a Modern/Nurse au Poe fic - this would be it.
Deepest, Lightest Secrets - One Shot - by @writefightandflightclub  It’s got the humour and overall feel  you’d expect to come from something Star Wars related - honestly I had so much fun reading it, and I’ll happily do it again.
Tumblr media
Levi Ackerman
Names for Him & You - One Shot - by @commanderserwin Again, op is one of my main sources for fic’s in this area - so there could be quite a few of them listed here. But this one? Cute as heck.
Levi’s Secret - Modern AU! One Shot - by @theamberwriter This one was damn funny in my opinion. Nothing can ever be hidden from Hange for long.
You Look So Beautiful In White - Modern AU! One Shot - by @alrightberries This fic, it carved out my heart, diced it, shoved it in a blender, then made it into an atomic bomb. I - I was not okay. That amount of angst shouldn’t be allowed. Read it.
Abeille - Modern / Mafia AU! Series - by @ackermans-freedom-inc Honestly, this isn’t finished yet but, honestly, I’m not ready for it to finish. The heartache. The betrayal. The child. I can’t even.
Lights - Modern AU! One Shot - by commanderserwin This was the first fic I ever read of op’s, and I couldn’t believe what I read so I went back and read it again. I can’t tell you how much I love it, or how I feel about it, so just go read for yourself and you’ll know.
To Build a Home - Modern AU! Series - by @vennilavee If you’re a fan of Levi, you must go read this. It’s so detailed, and just so perfect - whenever a new part comes out I have a quick reboot before going to read it.
Erwin Smith
One of Us - Modern AU! Miniseries - by commanderserwin I’m not going to lie, this one is here because I requested it, but also because I really liked it, and cried while reading it. So there.
Reiner Braun
Service to the Crown - Medieval AU! Miniseries - by @present-mel It should probably be illegal to write Reiner or Medieval au’s this well, and yet here op is writing both. Like, McScuse me, where do you acquire such talent and can I have some?
Tumblr media
Toshinori Yagi
Flirting with All Might - One Shot - by @lemonlordleah-shinzawa-kitten Toshi. The great. The hero. The awkward. He’s a blond boy doing what blond boys do even if he’s a little older he’s still part of the crew.
Stitches - Villain AU / Mini Series - by @itsallmightbitch  Okay, so I said above that I wouldn’t put warnings on these - but this time I have to. Nothing I’ve read in my whole life emmits such an amount of pure horniness - and I love it.
Godless - Fantasy AU / One Shot - by @pleasantanathema  Another ‘All Smite’ fic, yes, I know. But god. They’re so good. This one is another real horny one, so if you can’t tell there is a slight theme running here. And - sksksksks - this is actually from the same ‘general area’ as the Reiner fic listed above (Service to the Crown). There was a event. I read everything.
Keigo Takami
Preening - One Shot - by @shoutaaizawas Literally the softest and cutest damned thing I’ve read for Keigo. No, I’m not just ‘saying’ that, it’s genuine. The feelings I get - or lack thereof due to them turning to mush - it too much for words. Honest.
Seasonal Special - One Shot - by @keiqos I’ll say this now and I’ll say it first - any Hawks fics written by op are *chefs kiss*. They’re amazing. Secondly, rut!Hawks is my weakness - this fic is one of such weaknesses.
Shouto Aizawa
(Un-Named) - Series - by @theamberwriter This is *technically* the second part in the series, but it’s the only part I’ve read and goddamnit, I’m in love. Hubby Aizawa. The disappearing Baby-Zawa.
Tumblr media
I Miss You Texts - SMAU - Kuroo Tetsurou, Bokuto Koutarou, Nishinoya Yuu - by @briswriting I miss them too. They ain’t dead. I just feel like I haven’t seen them in so long.
Little Things - Headcanons - Karasuno - by @haikyuudreaming Every single one makes me feel so nostalgic, and I feel so much longing. I love. I loose. I pine. I want. And yet I cannot have. I only dream.
Cheerleader - Headcanons - Karasuno - by @imagine-101  I want to be their cheerleader. Now I am able to be. Op, many thanks for the feeding.
Tsukishima Kei
Cherry Wine - Single Parent AU! Series - by @bakugou-jpg  I’m gonna head out and say that Tsukki was my first favourite Haikyuu character - then I ‘character developed’ but that only went so far as to give me more favorites. But deadass - read this and you won't regret it.
Ukai Keishin
(Un-Named) - Ballroom/Latin Dancer AU! Headcanons - by @imagine-that-haikyuu  I know nothing about dancing. Or ballroom dancing. But I do know I’d love to dance with Ukai. So how’s that for ‘middle ground’?

When are you planning to start your streams? Can anyone come?
Okay so I'm going to make this a stream FAQ/Q&A sort of post:
"When are you planning to start your streams?"
Soon!! I was waiting a bit to see how people responded to my last post about suggested times and dates. I'll be making a post soon that will list off all the dates and what musical we will be watching each week and I'll try and tag as many people who have shown interest in wanting to join.
"Can anyone come?"
Yes! You don't have to be someone I've spoken too before, you don't have to be someone who is mutuals with me or friends with me, you can be someone who literally just found my blog yesterday. Sure I would like it if you followed me, but that's also not a rule, the link will be public and anyone can join. You can send it to your friends or family who don't have Tumblr if they want to join, I know some of my Discord friends will be coming along as well as people from Tumblr. But it should go without saying if anyone behaves awfully I will ban you from the room, but I doubt any of you will. I will say as this is open to Tumblr there is a potential for minors to be in the chat so you know don't talk about explicit NSFW things.
Where will the streams be hosted, how can I join?
I host my streams through Kosmi and if you attended my birthday stream of Tanz Der Vampire then you're familiar with it. Kosmi can be watched on PC or Mobile, and it's free and you don't even have to make an account. It's also a website not a PC app so you don't have to worry about downloading anything (there is also an app version though if you would prefer to use that, but I've always just used the website). I would, however, recommend that you do make an account. Without an account you will show up as 'anonymous' in the chat box to the side of the video and if you want to chat and there's 10 different 'anonymous' people it can get confusing. I'd recommend you set up a username before the stream starts. The room will me marked 'private' which means only people with the link can enter, and not just anyone who's browsing Kosmi.
Do I have to take part in the chat?
No! There is no pressure to chat, and if you just want to lurk and stay silent and watch that is completely fine! If I get sucked into what we're watching I may forget about the chat anyway, ha. But the chat's just there if people want to comment on what's happening, react to things, hey maybe make friends I don't know, or just ask questions if you're confused on anything.
What if I'm late?
I'll likely start the video up to 10 minutes after the scheduled time for anyone who is just setting things up or slightly late, but I won't be hanging around for people for ages. Once the stream starts I will stop it in the intermission for 10 or so minutes for people to get snacks or drinks or toilet breaks. I'll get everyone to check in when they come back and once everyone seems to be back I'll start act 2, sorry in advance if I start act 2 and you're not back yet, it's hard to keep track of everyone if there's a fair amount of people. You can join in the stream at any time, the room will always be open and I'll be using the same room for all of the streams which means you can keep reusing the same link and the chat log from the previous nights will still be there. That also means you can peak in between streams so I'm trusting you all to not misbehave with the chat while the streams aren't running throughout the week. But yes you can still join in at any time during the stream, the room will not be closing once the video starts, I just won't be rewinding the video for you.
Kosmi is a really good website and I'd so recommend it! You can share videos in three different ways: screen sharing (but while screen-sharing internet browser keeps the volume, screen sharing programs does not) which I've used to stream Netflix shows with friends, from a URL like Youtube or Twitch or Vimeo, or directly from a file on your computer. Watch party is only one of three functions and while I've never clicked on the other two before there's a small range of games to play and console emulators.
Omg though while checking settings for the room, because I've just set it up, I realised you can also share music as well and I had the silly idea that I could have music running before the streams start for anyone who shows up early, you know like you have in cinema's before the trailers and adverts come on? (At least that's how it is in UK cinemas, they play music until the lights dim for adverts, then trailers, then lights go all the way off for the movie).
My TDV birthday stream went well and people came who I knew and some who I didn't and we all had fun! There is no pressure to talk, but if you want to everyone is normally very approachable and friendly.

Clyde Logan X Reader: To Read or Not to Read
Request: How about the reader and Clyde go on a bookstore date and they share with each other books that they like?
Warnings: None
Blog Master List | Commissions | Send a Request!
Tumblr media
A soft bell chimed as Clyde opened the door to your favorite bookstore, gesturing you inside. He closed to behind him and took in the refreshingly cool air of the indoors. As summer came, the temperature began to rise with every passing day, and with that, the need for air conditioning. He wiped away a few droplets of warm sweat with his wrist, glancing around at the other patrons to the store. Although it was a bit lively with light chatter, it was rather relaxing to be back after not having been back for quite some time.
“Alright Darlin, why don’t we pick out a few books to buy today?” he came to suggest, glancing down at you in admiration. Clyde may not have been the most adamant reader, he could appreciate a good book every now and again. More often than not, he would enjoy one that you recommended for him as he had little idea what his ideal genre was. However, he was starting to develop his own likes and dislikes. As long as the story was interesting and pleasing to enjoy, he would take some time to read through it.
“I may not have thought of some options like you asked me to, Clyde,” you regretfully apologized. “I hope that it’s alright.”
“Of course it is,” he insisted. “there’s nothing to be sorry for,” Clyde leaned in to plant a loving kiss on your plush lips. You leaned in and placed a hand on his broad chest. For a few moments, he took in the warmth of the kiss before retracting from your touch. “there’s no harm in taking a nice look around the store. It’s more fun that way, to just explore.”
“I guess you’re right,” you smiled. “do you know what you’re in the mood for?” you had to wonder. It was a mystery even to you what his favorite sorts of books were, so often you would find yourself choosing one that would challenge his usual interests.
“No, so let’s just look around. How about we meet up here again in twenty minutes or so?” Clyde suggested, brushing his hand through your soft locks soothingly. His eyes were glued to yours as his smile ceased to fade from his freckled features.
“Sure, don’t take too long!” you expressed before hurrying off to your favorite section in the back of the book store. There had been a few that had caught your attention while looking online before, so hopefully they would have at least a copy of one of the books in stock.
You almost had lost track of time as you browsed the plethora of books before you jumped in startle, feeling a tap on the back of your shoulder. “Oh, I’m so sorry Darlin. I’ve just been waiting for you so I had to come searching. I’m sorry to scare you!”
“No, it’s fine Clyde,” you shoko your head in insistence. “I was about to check my phone to see the time, but I guess that doesn’t matter now. Did you find anything interesting?”
“Maybe just a little something, a book that I heard someone that came through Duck Tape last week recommended to me. They told me that it was an enjoyable read so I decided to take a read. I think that I’ll buy this one today.”
“A crime novel?” your eyebrow raised in perplexity. He handed you the book - Murder on the Orient Express - to read the back cover summary. Much to your surprise, it entailed a murder aboard a moving train with a mystery for a detective to solve before another person faces such a horrible fate. You glanced back up at Clyde. “I never took you for someone who would like this sort of thing.”
“I know that I never mentioned it before, but I have an odd fascination for crime novels, I think,” he explained to you. “I’ve read a few. That person that I mentioned, they come in a lot now and have been talking to me about these. He brought in a few books for me to read since he started to come to the bar and I like them.”
“It’s great that you’re starting to know what books you like to read!” you smiled. “I just got a couple that I had my eye on. Maybe you can read them too when I’m done.”
“I could give them a shot,” he hummed. Clyde took the books in your grasp and placed them on a shelf for a moment as he pushed you against it, smirking down at you in a tease. “As much as I want to get to reading this book, I think I want to have a little fun with you tonight,” he muttered out to you, his lips a mere inch apart from yours. “I think that you’re  too good today to pass up. Not that you are ever bad.”
“Oh, are you really up for something?”
“Mhm,” he nodded. “but I think that I want to keep it a mystery, what I think I want to do tonight,” Clyde breathed, leaning down to sink into a passionate kiss. No one could watch as your lips danced against the kiss, hidden away in a small isle of books towards the back of the store.
“I like the sound of that,” you spoke against the kiss as you took a moment to breathe before leaning back into the kiss, cupping his cheeks to caress his soft skin with the pad of your thumb. “a little surprise is always exciting, especially if it comes from you.”
“Good, because you’ll be in for a real treat,” he smirked teasingly.

But with 1.24 billion websites on the planet, just how do you guarantee that your web site gets great web traffic?  Right here are my top seven Search Engine Optimization ideas that will certainly help drive traffic to your site:
7 SEO Tips to Drive Traffic
Key words: In many searches, at least 50% of people make use of 4 words or more. This indicates that simply keyword phrases are not important. You require long-tail keyword phrases that are specific to the search.  When it concerns broad key phrases, there is difficult competitors available which implies that you require to provide something even more to stick out amongst the group. A long-tail keyword is very important to ensure that individuals get specific results of what they are searching for.   Top Quality Content: In this affordable world, there are lots of people that write on the very same subject. What should you do various to obtain noted at the top of the search listings? The response is composing great, well-researched content.  The material on your website must likewise vary to prevent any kind of inner competitors amongst websites for online search engine listings. You need to arrange your site in manner in which when individuals look for something particular, all associated info is quickly accessible. Also ensure that your material is on a regular basis upgraded as internet search engine frequently check for updates to supply the most effective outcome to its customers. Composing great material can improve up your web traffic and eventually impacts your SEO.  Meta Description as well as Title Tags: Title tags are similar to a book title. This is the clickable link that appears on online search engine result pages. If we take Google s instance, a perfect title tag should be much less than 60 characters.  A meta description is what appears below the title in internet search engine results. This is what produces the first impression on a user, and believe me, first impressions issue. If you have a great as well as concise meta summary, there s a better opportunity of people visiting your websites and additionally good for SEO.  Enhance Pictures: Pictures are what include shade to a websites as well as make it less dull. I can t also think about a websites with pictures. For a far better online search engine listing, make certain that you optimize the pictures by adding descriptions, alt tags, and also titles. Its valuable for your site Search Engine Optimization initiatives.  An internet search engine can t recognize an image s web content. It is the text with a picture that aids them rate exactly how appropriate a page is. For this, use initial, ideally sized, top quality pictures.  Backlinks: For a search engine, back links are a recommendation of a website. A visitor blog site on another website that connects back to your own will certainly drive web traffic to your internet site.  Obtaining a listing in on-line directory sites will additionally drive traffic to your website. The summary of your company in a e-directory will have a web link to your site. Make sure you constantly upgrade your info in these directory sites to produce web traffic and also enhance your Search Engine Optimization position. SSL Certificates: For an online search engine, an SSL accreditation is essential. What an SSL certificate primarily does is it alters your web site s http:// to https:// that makes it extra trustworthy as well as safeguarded. If you want an internet search engine to trust you, a SSL certification is a must.  Mobile Kindness: According to Google, there are more mobile searches than on desktop computers in 10 nations consisting of Japan and also the US. In order to take advantage of this growing pattern, your web site requires to be mobile friendly.  Obviously, apart from these fundamental SEO suggestions, there are numerous various other ways that SEO can help drive website traffic to your site. Listed below, 91 SEO professionals share their finest SEO suggestions for web traffic generation.
Radomir Basta - 4 Dots
There are lots of points you can do around to accomplish this, yet I ll distinguish a number of foundational actions or seo pointers to take, to start driving more major traffic from online search engine queries.  To start with, make your internet site as technically polished as feasible.  People in some cases just maximize their web site on the surface, however stop working to dig much deeper as well as minify code, enhance the web server, relocate javascript to the footer, eliminate unneeded tracking scripts no one is making use of and so forth.  These tweaks, when built up, will create a significantly far better individual experience in regards to page tons rate, and also this is a straight signal for enhanced internet search engine rankings. After all, your final goal as an internet site owner is to make users feel comfy when browsing through your web pages, and so is Google s.  Along with this, I still can t imagine a full SEO project without deploying an appropriate web link building method combined with PR/branding efforts.  Publish outstanding and also pertinent resources on your sites, promote them both via social media sites projects and hand-operated outreach initiatives, and also it will work wonders for both the page you are aiming to enhance as well as the site authority in general.  Visitor posting is still the very best seo service for boosted brand awareness as well as well-targeted back links. Just focus on websites with a pertinent audience and also you ll be great.  Ultimately, producing touchdown web pages for all appropriate subjects with website traffic capacity ought to enhance the web site s keyword reach, and place it for new as well as potentially better converting keyword variations that vary across markets, areas, language and also social obstacles, expert occupancies or topical savviness.
Phil Rozek - Regional Visibility System, LLC
The create terrific web content and make excellent web links recommendations has been covered enough in the meantime, including by me. So my finest piece of less-obvious Search Engine Optimization guidance is: either specialize in a slim specific niche, or start supplying a truly unknown service (or item or widget). The weirder as well as even more specific niche, the far better.  If you re the only company, or only regional one, or the very first one, you can grab some very easy rankings, website traffic that contains individuals with a particular as well as prompt requirement, and often even a couple of simple links. Also, some individuals will come for the strange little solution as well as remain for the more-mainstream service( s) you supply?? for which your positions as well as exposure perhaps aren t so great. Go a little off the beaten path.
Eric Siu - Single Grain
There is so much material on SEO available, and it can really feel challenging to start an optimization overhaul. I concentrate on ideas or methods that are effective AND make the very best use resources, including the material you currently have. Right here goes:.  Update your existing material?? Existing material already has authority as well as a well established readership. So instead of composing something totally from scratch, discover a blog post already doing well, rejuvenate it with updated info, add visuals, as well as depend on existing signals to make it rate for terms.  Improve interaction to enhance positions. Take your existing web content and also make it a lot more readable?? separate any kind of huge blocks of message, splitting material up with headers, bullet points.  Concentrate on subjects as opposed to key words?? Google formula updates now allow the online search engine to identify intent as opposed to count solely on the actual key words. So while keyword research study is still very essential, concentrate on what customers are looking for as opposed to different methods to phrase a search query to increase up your SEO.   Develop backlinks?? Made backlinks?? via top quality material, outreach and also influencer advertising and marketing?? are still incredibly effective. As well as try to find guest uploading chances on reputable sites. We developed our domain name authority on guest messages from excellent websites like Entrepreneur, Hubspot, Forbes, and also more. While both back links and guest posts will take some manual outreach as well as tenacity, they re big for your brand name acknowledgment and Search Engine Optimization.  Reporting and also analytics suggestions?? The numbers put on t lie so measure what s functioning and also what s not as well as always remain to iterate.
Anna Lebedeva - SEMrush
Search Engine Optimization is an ever-changing idea. So to talk about search engine optimization, you really have to see what s going on with Google as well as its formulas. If we utilized to speak about keyword phrases, alt tags, LINK framework and also link-building?? I put on t wish to be deceptive, these things do still issue, a great deal?? material is now getting miraculous significance.  Material is king, we ve all heard it. Yet, material made use of to be vital because it was the way to position the best key words, to obtain backlinks and more. Yet, now when Google is all about search intent as well as bringing one of the most appropriate pages before the user, material becomes progressively vital to getting web traffic.  Besides, where does traffic come from? From individuals finding your content in much less time than your competitor s content. Which s when you need to enhance for # 1 or absolutely no setting. And also you just arrive if your content satisfies user s intent. That s how it functions. That s really completion factor of all SEO suggestions, techniques and also techniques.  So, I d state, rather than utilizing ideas and also plain techniques to maximize for online search engine, try to really get into the individual s head. What does he indicate by typing in fancy dining establishment for Valentine s Day. And also make certain your material addresses his/her needs. Individuals wear t requirement material for the sake of content, or for keyword phrases, or for backlinks, they require it for answers?? any kind of search inquiry is generally a question, even without the question words, so your actual task is to answer that concern.  So, the best Search Engine Optimization suggestion is a fundamental content optimization to respond to the inquiries your customers have, and also for that, you truly need to understand your target market as well as prepare for any concerns they require responses for. It s like an excellent old focus team strategy made use of in standard marketing?? prior to developing completion item, big companies purchase customer viewpoints and the needs they require to be covered.   Therefore, in addition to mere keyword/backlink research as well as on-site optimization, concentrate on discovering the questions your possible individuals require answers for. At SEMrush, we tried to accept this pattern by presenting rather an one-of-a-kind function for the SEO/content market?? we established a tool that really investigates the most prominent answers for the specific subject you are composing a piece of material on.

Do you have any advice for a new blog?
🌸 Oh this is such an interesting ask, I’ve been thinking about it for a few days now, sorry it’s taken a while to get back to you but I was thinking how best to answer it! While this blog has only been around for 3 years and I’ve only really started posting in it recently, I have had my main tumblr blog for 10 years and several side blogs with quite a few followers so I’m hoping I can provide some insight! I do apologise as this turned into a bit of a ramble that I feel is about tumblr but beings to overlap into life advice lol - I blame my age. 🌸
1.) I would say firstly, enjoy it. I feel sometimes there’s a lot of pressure to get loads of followers, create new content etc. and you can forget why you’re here. I got tumblr to reblog photos of things that made me happy from bands to tattoos, movie stuff, art etc and occasionally I would forget that and end up getting bogged down in comparing stats and myself to others. So yeah, enjoy it and remember why you joined ^_^
2.) If you love work that others create (writing/art/gif sets etc.) show your appreciation not just with likes but with comments and reblogging where you can/feel comfortable doing so. Likes are great and always appreciated but comments help to inspire and reblogging means more people will see their work. It encourages content creators to continue creating, it’s also a really good way of gaining followers and make friends. If you support others they will likely support you in return.
3.) Share the art/fan art/cosplay photos you love as per above - but don’t repost work. This was something I wasn’t really aware of when I first joined tumblr, a lot of people would just save photos from google or deviant art (it was a very different place back then) and post them on tumblr to show appreciation. But often there would be no artist detail or link to the artist, instead if you find something you like reblog it from the creator. If it isn’t on tumblr and you’d really like to post it here, contact the creator and ask their permission to post - then include a link in the post and explain you have the artist’s permission.
4.) Talk to people :) - Okay like Alice in Wonderland here’s some advice I could really use sometimes! Through tumblr I have met some of the most amazing friends. When I first started out I started chatting to a girl who went to the same Uni as me, we met up to go for coffee, browse record shops and saw The Vaccines together. I’ve also met numerous people who encouraged me to go to Hobbit Con in Germany - I had the most amazing time, remained friends, one of them came to my wedding. I guess the message here is that internet friends are great and you never know what a friendship can blossom into. If there’s someone whose work you admire or blog you love, don’t be afraid to reach out and send a message, even if you feel a bit silly (I often do!).
5.) Tags - My take on tags is pretty simple, tag correctly. I often tag things quite heavily but I make sure that I only tag characters that feature in a post or fandoms that feature in that post etc. You often come across posts where every character in the show has been tagged, I get why people do it, it means the post will come up in more results but it is rather infuriating when you’re looking for something specific. It also looks messy and can make things hard to find on your own blog. So yeah tag the show/film/book etc, tag the relevant characters, add whatever tags you want regarding your feelings/emotions about the post or thoughts on it. But ideally keep it relevant. On that note, tag ships (people often blacklist ships they dislike or that they find problematic) so doing this helps everyone. Anything that’s only really suitable for people 18+ tag however you see fit (due to Tumblr’s changes last year we had to revert to tagging things on the citrus scale again so I tag anything like that as lemon as well as nsft) Finally Trigger/content warnings - I do use them, some people put warnings on everything, some people don’t do at all. Again like with shipping it is helpful for people who have
6.) Remember to take breaks - tumblr can be a little addictive and easy to pass time (like social media) so remember to take breaks, when you get back they’ll be loads of new stuff on your dashboard to look at ^_^
7.) Follow loads of blogs! I probably should have put this higher up. But have a think about the kind of content you want to see and spend some time searching for blogs that fit that, I also find it’s nice to follow some more aesthetic blogs or blogs that are calming/relaxing, seeing things like that on my dash is always a reminder to have a breather!
8.) Enjoy playing around with themes - decide what you want your blog to be about (and remember there’s nothing wrong with having a main blog that’s a little bit of everything you love as well as personal stuff!) and then have fun with the settings. There’s a lot of free tumblr themes, some of which are pretty neat and user friendly in terms of customisation. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re stuck.
9.) Side blogs are also really great. I begun to create side blogs because I didn’t want to spam my main blog with Game of Thrones, The Hobbit, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Attack on Titan, so I created side blogs. I still post about all these things on main but not as frequently. A side blog can also be good if you want to create a blog you can share with employers - I have a side blog for my photography and one for my writing. Sideblogs are also a good way of keeping certain material away from the blog where people in real life are most likely to find you. Generally I won’t post 18+ material on my main blog, so smutty fan fiction etc. goes on the side blogs. As a side note, when you have a side blog you cannot like posts or ask questions as that side blog - it will be from your main blog.
10.) Try not to get disheartened if you create original content and it doesn’t get a lot of attention at first. When you create a blog it can take time to gain followers/traction. But remember as per point 1, that Tumblr should be fun and creating content should first and fore mostly be for you and your enjoyement. But if you continue to create, tag appropriately but also show appreciation for fellow creators there’s no reason why in time you won’t flourish. And as per point 3, if you reblog others work there’s a chance they in return will reblog your art.
11.) There’s extension kits you can get for tumblr, I know some people use them and find them helpful. I’m not sure they’re as poplar/needed now as they used to be. I used to use one but don’t feel the need now, however might be worth a google or asking someone more knowledgeable to see if it’ll work for you.
12.) You can blacklist tags through settings, if there’s any ships, characters, things you’d rather not see on your dash or that you find upsetting or triggering I’d recommend blacklisting them. If people tag correctly you shouldn’t much/if any of it.
13.) Under blog settings you can also choose whether you want your blog to be searchable via the email address you registered with and on google. I switched this off pretty much as soon as it became a feature! My blogs, even my main blog are a piece of me which is only shared with a select few people in real life. I really do not need my colleagues, employers, certain family/friends finding this!
14.) Use Queues! I adore a queue.... Once I discovered they were a thing I try to have around 100 posts in my queue on main at any time. You can amend how many times you post a day (mine is around 8-12 times, I change it when i go away). It just means your blog remains active even if you can’t really log on for a week or two or if you’re on holiday. Occasionally I’ll add original posts into my queue with writing, it can be nice to come back and see the feedback. A lot of people put ‘queue’ in the tag, but you’ll realise most people have a quirky tag. For example on main mine is - one does not simply queue their way through tumblr. And on my red dead blog it’s - I had a god damn queue! Sadly on here I haven’t got one yet!
15.) Finally I would say engage in discourse as little as possible. It can be tempting and while drama can be fun for a while, even just to watch from the outside it can quickly escalate into something nasty and toxic. At first you might want to join in but tumblr can be, well it can be a lot at times and very noisy with everyone screaming their opinions and trying to be louder than the person before. I would say no fandom is inherently toxic, but it happens. A fandom I was heavily involved in last year had so much discourse and there was so much drama that even though I wasn’t involved in it my anxiety was through the roof, I had a panic attack over it and felt paranoid. After speaking to other older members in the fandom I felt much better (they too were annoyed with what was happening) and we realised that essentially a lot of it boiled down to a real lack of critical thinking. I’m not saying don’t get involved at all, sometimes I have seen things where I’ve felt things need to be said/action taken especially when it comes to intolerance and hatred. But I would say when you do engage - pick your battles. (I hope this last one makes sense). I started writing a lot more and going into the politics of it and ranting about bigots and then thought that’s probably enough! 😁
I hope this post helps! Like I said I’ve never been asked something like this so it took a bit of thinking but these are some of the key thoughts I had.
edit - I meant to add that obviously the above is just my opinion and based on my experiences on tumblr/thoughts about things.

Now that TG is over...
Since it was a special part of my blog schedule, I think it deserves an announcement. And since it’s me, well, it can only be slightly long. xDD
First of all, I’ll consider the series officially over by July 19th, which is the release of the very last volume and eventual bonus pages, concluding the series. By that time as well, I’ll delete the TG section from my theory recap page: all the posts will obviously remain on my blog but you’ll need to browse through the series’ tags to find them!
After that, I don’t intend to replace TG by another series when it comes to the schedule I was going with: I will keep on posting about all the series I posted about before, it’s just that, with TG now over, it will leave me more time to focus on the others besides Kuroshitsuji.
I am also very probably not going to watch the anime in October since I didn’t watch the first cour, but I’ll be happy to see y’all on my dash again anyway! :3
For the little history, I got in TG when the very first anime and ch120 of the first part weren’t even released, when THS that was the main translating group back then was barely catching up with the Aogiri arc, when we were less than ten in the tags maybe. xD Overall, it’s been a long journey and I came to interact with great people thanks to it. :3 That’s why...
I’m wishing all of you guys the best; hopefully I may still find some of you in other fandoms we (will) have in common
I tend to have a good memory so, unless you change your username, I should remember you. I most certainly won’t change my username tho’ so dropping a message to say hi willl always make me happy (someone recently tried it after 4 years actually :)).
and, of course, I’m also wishing the best to Ishida-sensei!
He gave us his all, even though he may not have reached the ending he would have wanted initially, but I hope I’ll be able one day to read another work of his and to have as much fun as I had with TG!
TG is not the first series I follow closely that ends up more quickly than I would have expected it to, so believe me when I say it’s possible to move on and still look back on the series for all the reasons you enjoyed it in the first place.
A series ending always was the best opportunity to launch into another for me: as I’m busy this year it won’t be the case this time, especially since I have other (mainly monthly) series to keep me busy with, but I highly recommend it to anyone who’d understandably be sad about missing getting updates within the next weeks. :3
There are plenty of enjoyable titles out there. They won’t be anything like TG, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s actually a great thing. Each series I love is unique in its own way and that’s why I love them as much as I do, so I wouldn’t want to draw comparisons by reading two series way too similar.
To start with, I highly recommend all the series I’m up to date with or that I ever blogged/reblogged about and it’s not because I didn’t write about them as much as I did with TG that they’re less good. No way.
However if you wish to ask what I’d recommend more specifically for you, you’ll have to tell me what you loved exactly about TG first, so that I can try to find something suitable.
So there you go! Again, wishing you all the best you guys...
Tumblr media
It’s been a pleasure to see TG coming to an end with all of you. Take good care of yourself! <3 <3 <3

Rules? Look no further!
Things not to mention!
- Explicit reference to depression/self harm/suicide
- Scat
- Insects
- Explicit reference to panic attacks (for educational purposes, completely fine though)
- Paedophilia
- Anything hateful/disrespectful to real people
- Anything racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic etc.
- Anything an asshole would say
FAQ
- “Who tf are you?”
My name’s Mad, and I run a Rire ask blog. I like Victoria sponge cake and hugs. And Rire, of course!
- “Hey, your blog’s rad and I wanna rp with you!”
Glad you like it, buddy! Unfortunately, I'm not in a position where I can rp with other blogs, even privately - something about it sets my anxiety off and I really need to look after my mental health right now. But hey, thanks for asking!
- “Rire’s pretty rapey FYI”
Ah, the wonders of fiction. Yes, I’m perfectly aware that Rire is a HUGE rapist and not a model for what to do irl. But for fantasy purposes, he’s just fine. But PLEASE, if Rire upsets you in any way, know that he is entirely fictional and that you are wonderful and worthy of better. Also, maybe consider staying away from this blog. I don’t want anyone to use it as a way to hurt themselves.
- “What’s Fantasy Friday?”
Fantasy Friday was a thing I did every week where I’d post my sexual fantasies about that beautiful demonic bastard. Please read the warnings if you’re browsing that tag. Unfortunately it’s a huge commitment, so I don’t do that anymore.
- “If I wanna avoid all your ranting and fantasy friday, where do I look?”
The tag ‘btd rire’ is a good start!
- “Can we ask you personal questions?”
As I want to keep this blog very centered on Rire rather than me, I’d request that if you do, you keep it to a minimum. But I will be sure to let you know if I get uncomfortable, so as long as you read the warnings, fire away! Be aware that, due to my anxiety disorder, I may not answer for a long period of time, and I’m also not a therapist. So if you’re wanting genuine human connection, I’m afraid I’m not the best candidate. You’re probably a cool person though.
- “So are you running this blog or not?”
The short answer is, yes! Unfortunately, my mental health went spiraling downwards and I decided to drop this blog entirely for a long period of time. However, I’m currently receiving therapy for my anxiety, so I’m back for the time being.
- “I wanna be friends!”
You seem super friendly, but that requires an amount of commitment that I find it extremely difficult to maintain. Maybe if there comes as time where my anxiety is lessened, but otherwise, I’m afraid that’s a no. There are lots of super friendly people in this community, however, so don’t lose hope!
- “I’m an actual rapist/sexual abuser, am I welcome here?”
You can 100% fuck off. This blog does not advocate sexual abuse of ANY kind, and I highly recommend you turn yourself in to the police.
- “You’re making a rules page? Now? A bit late for that, isn’t it?”
It’s never too late to set boundaries! Besides, I made this just so that there’s a little order to this blog. And I didn’t set a rules page up before, so I thought, why not now?
All my love,
Mod Mad

Do you have any recommendations for obtaining lace? Obviously a lot of lolita stuff requires like 20 gazillion yards of lace trim, but it's so goddamn expensive idk how people manage it. Not to mention a lot of times I've noticed at Joann's they only have weirdly short rolls (??? terminology?) so it's like, here, you get 5 feet for $20 have fun
One of these days I’m going to go through the blog and properly tag all of the lace posts so that you can search them.
But, to quote my third-favorite Samuel Beckett play,
“We should go.” (They do not move.)
So, first things first, when Dharma Trading made it look like they were going to stop carrying their dyeable lace a few months ago, I panicked, but they have restocked! So here’s my favorite place for cheap lolita lace. It’s all cluny lace, which is really good for some substyles and sort of okay for others. They only have a 3 yard minimum, too, which is much less than other places. If you’re not dyeing it, you definitely want to pour some boiling water over it and let it shrink before you sew it on, because it does shrink. Their lace is also highly dyeable and you can dye it in a bottle really easily, so it’s SUPER versatile
Cheeptrims has good venise lace, but their minimum is one putup, which can be 15-70 yards depending on the trim. This means you need to fork over $20 for a spool and then figure out how you can use the cute lace up. This is handy if you’re making a mini-collection or if you have a lot of space and a big desire to keep lace on hand.
As for Joann, there’s three places in my store to buy lace. There’s the by-the-spool laces (cardboard spool), which are usually 1-3yards and can go from $3-$10 for a spool. Some of these laces are usable and some aren’t. A LOT of them also are available in the by-the-yard lace, and you have to do the math to figure out which one is a better deal. The by-the-yard (plastic bolt) lace can go from $1.40ish to $18 a yard. Like most lolitas, I like to think I know more about lace than the average layman, and I cannot for the life of me figure out the pricing system on the lace. It’s just nuts.A lot of that lace is raschel lace that we lolitas tend not to use, but there’s some cluny lace that’s under $2 a yard that sometimes floats around. By the yard lace comes in white, sort of white, kind of white, white????, black, champagne, and you-thought-this-was-black-but-now-you-got-it-cut-and-surprise!!-it’s-navy. Pull out the flashlight on your phone and check the colors. The major advantage of this is that you can feel and touch the lace. And while we’re on the subject, there’s a 40% off BTY trim coupon in the smartphone app that’s good until 3/31/18 so if you’re considering buying a lot of lace, now’s the time. (lace rarely goes on sale, however, so you can also use the standard 40/50/60% coupons that come up if you’re only buying one cut, so you’re not actually losing money if you can’t go lace shopping this weekend)Then there’s the BUY-the-spool lace (purple cardboard rolls with the lace secured with a sinver straight pin). I swear we’re going to have a lawsuit over those things one of these days, but they’re usually $2 a spool and have varying amounts on them depending on the type of lace. If you’re going to find a real discount on lace, it’s going to be in this section. I think this section is a combination of cheap lace they keep in stock with mill ends or some bargain purchase, because there can be some cool stuff in here.
If you’ve got a spool of string and a lot of free time, you can fake your own lace.
You can also browse what comes up when you search “lace” on this blog and dive back into 20dollarlolita memory lane with all the posts from the wayback.

Our top new features are designed to put your family first
Our top new features are designed to put your family first
Fall is officially here. It’s hard to believe, but we’re in our second year where our lives continue to be impacted by the pandemic. Still, many families like mine are well into the school year routine, whatever that may look like. Fall is a very busy time with school, extra-curricular activities, work, meal planning, holiday planning and more. Maximizing time and money is key to getting through this busy time of year, especially when it comes to holiday shopping and family travels. Microsoft Edge is committed to putting your family first. This month, we’re excited to introduce new features to help you save time and money so you can focus on what matters most to you and your family.
If you’re running a Windows PC, you already have Microsoft Edge installed, so launch it and check it out. For those of you who haven’t tried Microsoft Edge yet, download it and let us know what you think!
Here’s what’s new in web experiences this month:
Access reviews and customer ratings while shopping in Microsoft Edge
Regular readers of this blog know that I love shopping online. And I heavily rely on online reviews to help me decide if a product fits my needs. However, ratings and reviews can take a lot of time and effort to research, and they are rarely in one place. This month, we’re excited to announce easy access to online expert reviews and customer ratings for over 5 million products right from the address bar when shopping in Microsoft Edge. To access ratings and reviews, all you need to do is browse for an item at your favorite store and click on the blue tag on the address bar. There, you will find expert online reviews from trusted sources for the product you are viewing. You will also see the average customer star rating across online retailers. This is just another way in which Microsoft Edge is the best browser for shopping and helps you save time.
Shopping made simpler and easier with express checkout
While I love shopping online, I do not look forward to entering my shopping and payment information at checkout each time, especially if it’s a site where I don’t have an account profile. I love the new express checkout feature in Microsoft Edge because it speeds up the guest checkout experience, which will definitely come in handy this holiday season! To use this feature while shopping in Microsoft Edge, select guest checkout within the retailer site and then click Try express checkout in the address bar. If you’ve used this feature before, you’ll see your autofill information there. Review the information for accuracy and then click Try all coupons and autofill details. If you haven’t used express checkout before, fill in your information once, and have Microsoft Edge save it for all your future purchases, regardless of where you shop.
Save time and money when planning your next trip
Some of you may have started to travel a bit more these past few months and/or may be planning on traveling for the holidays to catch up with family and friends.
This month, we’re introducing exciting new features to save you time when planning your next trip. The first is travel recommendations. Deciding what to do, see and eat at your upcoming destination can be overwhelming and time consuming. Now, Microsoft Edge will help you with your trip planning by providing recommendations for your travel destination. When you search for flights, you will see a notification appear in the address bar. Click on that to see the recommendations for your destination for restaurants, sightseeing and more, saving you time as you plan your trip. This feature is currently available in the U.S. across the top 10 booking sites. Support for additional sites and markets will be coming soon.
This month, we’re also introducing a faster way to search for flights and hotels. This feature is designed to save you time by carrying your entries for departure location, destination and number of passengers when looking for flights. When you visit a new booking site, Microsoft Edge will ask if you want to use the same information you entered on a prior travel site, saving you time when planning your travels. Click on Continue to see the changes apply.  So, whether you plan to travel this holiday season or are starting to think about a future vacation, Microsoft Edge will be ready to help you save time and streamline your planning.
Finally, we’ve also shipped an update to the flight search experience on Microsoft Bing, available in all markets Bing supports. Now, you don’t need to go to a flight aggregation site and fill out the intake form. On the Bing search bar, simply type what you’re looking for – such as “Seattle to JFK flights” – and all available results will pop up in an instant for you to explore further. We’ve partnered with top industry players to find you the most competitive rates, so you can be sure you are getting the best prices.
Stay organized while you browse with tab groups
Let’s face it. During this time of year, we all have way too many tabs open – literally and figuratively. As in life, having way too many tabs open in your browser can be overwhelming. This is usually the case when I’m doing research for work, upcoming trips, or holiday shopping. It is easy for tab numbers to get out of control, making staying organized a challenge. This month, I am excited to announce that we’re introducing tab groups in Microsoft Edge. Tab groups allow you to organize the chaos by clustering tabs together. You can add a name and a color to help you easily find them or collapse them to make more space for other tabs. To start a tab group, hold down CTRL and use your cursor to select the tabs you want to aggregate. Then right-click and select Add tabs to new group, and a menu will open with options for customization. In addition to this, we also have tab preview available, which allows you to sneak a peek of the tab when you hover over it. This comes in handy when you have too many tabs open that look similar, making it easier to navigate to the one you need. This is just another way in which Microsoft Edge helps you make the most of your time online.
Introducing Microsoft Start: the content you care about, simplified and reinvented
News and information can be overwhelming. There is so much information coming at us from so many online sources, media channels and devices. There doesn’t seem to be enough hours in a day, especially during this time of year, to get caught up on it all. That is why, earlier this month, we introduced Microsoft Start. Microsoft Start is a personalized news feed and collection of informational content, which helps you start with articles you’re interested in. It provides both breaking headlines and content pertaining to your interests. Microsoft Start lets you access content on a range of topics all in a single destination. You can access Microsoft Start on your PC by clicking on content in the New Tab Page of Microsoft Edge or navigating directly to https://www.MicrosoftStart.com on your PC. There’s also a Microsoft Start mobile app that you can download for iOS or Android so you can stay informed on the go!
Whew! That was a lot, thank you for sticking with me during this! We hope that you enjoy all this beautiful time of year has to offer and that our brand-new features help you save time and money. Please continue to send us your feedback as we work to make the web more innovative and open for everyone.

I've taken a year long break from Roleplay but recently want to get back into it. The thing is, I'm not sure how. Often before I'd start a blog here, or on other sites, but quickly feel discouraged due to unable to find partners or just not seeing much of my preferred fandoms. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get back into the hobby and not want to immediately disappear again?
First, I’m so sorry for taking so long to respond to this!  I set it aside in drafts to work on later, and my brain promptly forgot that it was there.
I should also admit that I was having trouble coming up with ideas or answers.  Having never done the ‘hiatus thing’ before myself, I don’t know a lot of the tricks for getting yourself back out there.  I think what I’ll have to do is offer some generic ideas based on what I’d do if I were trying to start over from scratch.
So, first things first - I have no clue if you’re wanting to make an indie OC that can fit into multiple fandoms, or if you’re the kind of person who chooses a fandom and then picks a canon to write as, or if you prefer to create an OC just for a specific fandom.  Because of that, a lot of what I'm going to suggest might not even work for you.  However, hopefully something here will help you out.
My advice - create an indie OC and go ahead and write mini-backstories for them set in all of your favorite/preferred fandoms.  This opens up a ton of options, and lots of blogs/fandoms to pick from.  If one section of the RPC starts to lose steam, then you’ve got other fandoms to keep you busy, too.
Even better is if you can find a partner who also has an OC they like to throw into multiple other fandoms.  Y’all can explore all of those universes together and create so many amazing stories!  All of my most long-lasting partners (with OCs and canon’s alike) have had a love for alternate universes.
As for actually finding partners, I know a lot of people will go browsing through various tumblr tags. This isn’t something I do or have done, but maybe some of our followers can recommend some of the best tags to search through?  (Or some of the tags it’s better to avoid?)
In the past, I’ve also used roleplay masterlists to find partners.  The only one I’m currently aware of is curated by dear-indies - it’s an impressive collection of current roleplayers; the blog mods work hard to keep updated and relevant.  Some are fandom specific - both canons and OCs - but there are lists for fandomless OCs, too.
In addition to the above suggestions, I will often use aesthetic posts to keep me interested in a blog.  Or I’ll share headcanons, or post drabbles.  Having things that show off your writing are especially nice to have right off the bat because it shows potential partners what your writing style is like (while informing them about your character at the same time.)
I think that’s about it from me on the ‘ideas’ front.  Can our followers offer the OP any additional suggestions?

Tumblr media
SUPER IMPORTANT PSA.
I hoped to avoid this, but it appears as if it’s unavoidable.
I don’t want to call this a callout post because the point of this is to prevent others from becoming involved in similar situations with this particular person. So, instead, this is an official cautionary post informing people of the behavior of user tax//idoitis. Although they keep changing their url a lot because they have a notable tendency to do so, you can always discover what it is by looking at the tag pilgri//mbound ( a former url of theirs ). I warned them I’d have no choice but to do this if they kept visiting my blog, and they did precisely that.
I met this individual back in Summer / Fall of last year. They discovered my multimuse blog and approached me. We started writing and everything seemed okay. Until it didn’t. Eventually, odd things started to occur. For instance, another user accused them of stealing their OC’s backstory and they ( the problematic person ) came to me about it. Not knowing I’d find myself in the shoes of the accuser / victim months later, I comforted them but pointed out the fact that they didn’t respond as well as they could have to the accusation by further pestering the accuser. This recent situation has made me 100% sure that accusation was correct, by the way. Anyhow, after that, they then started doing odd things regarding me. For instance, changing their url to resemble mine. When I approached them to address the matter, they even revealed an awareness of the potentiality of me being made uncomfortable by the change prior to making it and after. As is their tendency to do, they “apologized” but tried to justify it. They did end up changing their url to something else, but the conscious creation of the problem and the manner in which they handled it didn’t sit well with me at all. Not too long thereafter, they did something else that basically served as the final straw and I told them we needed to part ways. We did go our separate ways. Or so I thought. It should have ended there.
As you can guess, it didn’t. Someone followed my multi not too long ago and the mun inquired about writing together. As mentioned in my rules, I’m terrible at recognizing people. I always treat the mun of a new blog / a blog I’ve never interacted with before as if they’re a new person / a stranger. Unless they tell me otherwise ( which most usually know to do ) or I just so happen to get lucky and recognize them. So, especially since they ( deliberately ) made themselves seem like someone I’d never interacted with before, I assumed this was someone new. They said they were interested in interacting with my Rey, so I directed them to this blog. Something I now deeply wish I hadn’t done. They followed and for a good amount of time, it was just silence. I hadn’t followed back because they hadn’t approached. When they did, I browsed their blog to try to get a good understanding / awareness of their writing style. I needed to figure out whether our styles were compatible. I noticed something odd that made me backtrack and decide against interacting with this person. Not only were they incorrectly using fundamental words such as its and it’s, but they were using complex words that I use but haven’t seen anyone else us. They were also incorrectly using those words. Like wielding a sword without having had any practice at all or really understanding how to use it. Typically, those who aren’t native English speakers but write in English stick with what they know and they use proper grammar. Their writing is smooth, comprehensible, and tasteful. At least, this is the case with those I’ve written and met. Yes, native and non-native English speakers alike make mistakes. However, there is an enormous difference between the occassional blunder and consistently making the exact same mistakes. Also, combining poor grammar with complex words ( when used incorrectly at that ) is jarring. Something is fundamentally wrong with that, but it’s difficult to sufficiently put it into words. In any case, I politely declined and told them our styles were incompatible. To which, they said they understood. At that point, they could have mentioned I’d written with them in the past, but they didn’t. Why? I strongly believe it’s because they remember I told them in the past we couldn’t interact and were trying to manipulate my perception so that I’d unknowingly write with them again. Unknowing in the sense that I’d be under the impression I was writing with someone else. Anyhow, I thought we were done and that that would be the end of that. I blocked, because what I saw on their blog sent off warning flags in my mind. It was the natural assumption, but I failed to realize there’s nothing natural about this situation or what they’re doing.
Skip ahead several days later and I receive an anonymous message from this same person. Once more, pretending to be someone aside from the roleplayer I’d interacted with in Summer / Fall. Saying they were the same person I told no just days ago from then, they said that ’ while they understand I’d declined due to incompatible writing styles, they were asking if I’d reconsider’. What exactly did they understand? From where I stand, they merely acknowledged that I said ‘no’ but decided to disregard it. This is the point where I should mention that they have nothing against disregarding the wishes of others. They’re not against showing disrespect and justifying it. If that weren’t enough, this same person sent that message on anon because I blocked them. Instead of bothering to respond to a message that would have forced my hand in responding publicly, I made a PSA under a read more. This person deliberately went on to the blog, clicked the read more, read the PSA, and wrote an indirect response to it on their blog that basically treated my post as a callout post, which it wasn’t. Nowhere at all - neither in the post itself or in the tags - was their url mentioned. At that point, I installed a tracker that a good friend here recommended. I mentioned the situation, and guess what happened? Apparently, this person has made 50+ visits to my blog underneath around 12 or more IP addresses over the past week alone. Since I’ve been blocking IP addresses of theirs as they’ve come along, they’d had to somehow make a plethora of IP addresses to bypass the blocks as if they see it all as some game. If that isn’t unsettling and intrusive behavior, I don’t know what is. Since this mess is becoming ridiculously exhausting and tiring, I decided to message them and resolve things civilly. Turns out, they have no shame about sending that pushy message. They tried to justify it. In that same conversation, they made a false accusation about me despite not having a shred of proof at all and then revealed who they were. They only mentioned then that we’d written before. When I suggest parting ways with someone, I don’t mean come back in a number of months and I’ll give you another chance. I mean stay as far away as possible for the sake of my health and happiness. Regardless, they said they’d stop visiting my blog, but then blocked me for some reason.
Guess what they did this morning? Not once, but multiple times under two new IP addresses did they visit before I had to get up and leave for work. I took a moment to politely ask them to stop from a different account, but they blocked. The person is incapable of guilt, shame, and regret.
In summary, this isn’t a traditional callout post, but rather a cautionary post to other people since no one deserves to go through this. I’m not saying don’t interact with them. The decision is yours to make, of course. I just want people to be aware of the kind of trouble they might encounter should they decide to interact with them. Odds are, given their growing track record of stalking my blog, they’ll inevitably seek out this post and read it unfortunately. It’s just a matter of time. Also, this blog of mine isn’t the only one they’ve been “visiting” too much either.
Here are just some of my receipts. Ironically and unsurprisingly, the problematic person stopped by the blog while I was putting this together. Although it probably doesn’t make much of a difference since they keep inventing new IP addresses, I’ve blocked out the IP addresses. As you can imagine, having to see this each day is infuriating.

Hi! So, I had a question... I don't think I've ever read a romance novel before. I've only read novels with romance side plots, or romance short stories. But, I think I would really enjoy them! So I was wondering: Where do I start? Is there a specific site, or a specific tag, or a 'Romance Novel Search Engine', or...? I'm unfortunately kinda picky when it comes to literature... Thank you in advance !!
You can always ask here! We have a decent number of people who can provide specific recommendations depending on your tastes. Without guidelines, my personal go-tos for “starter” romances are Bitten by Kelley Armstrong if you like fantasy (called paranormal romance in the genre) or Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie and Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas if you like stories with everyday people.
To explore on your own, I like the graded reviews on Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. Any book with an A grade is probably going to be good.
When I first started reading romance, it was pre-internet days, so I did it by exploring at my local library. I just walked up and down the stacks, grabbing books with obvious romance covers and reading the back. If I liked the description, I read it. I will do this at bookstores too, but these days I’m so steeped in what I know I like that there’s less browsing. However, it did not fail me when I first started. Don’t negate the potential of the random book find. (My personal opinion is that this is much harder to do digitally on a site like Amazon. There are sooooooooooooooo many self-published books that it’s very hard to find quality books through random browsing. Some people have luck with that; I never have.)
A lot of romance readers chase after tropes or catnip: they figure out what they like and will gobble those books up. If you think you might be a reader who wants to read about cowboys or fairy tale retellings or funny small-town contemporaries with a single-mom heroine, a trope search on Romance.io can be helpful.
Finally, eventually we all find authors we love. Romance authors write a fair number of books so if you find someone you like, get their backlist. Note who wrote a blurb for their cover and try out that author’s books. See if they’ve done any anthologies and check out the other author’s stories. Chances are if you like an author like Sarah MacLean, you’re going to like Tessa Dare, for example.
The biggest thing to remember when trying to figure out what you like as a romance reader is that there’s always another romance out there. If you pick up a book and 56 pages in, you want to throw it at a wall, that doesn’t mean romance isn’t for you! It’s just not the right book.
And you can always ask questions, either by going to romance blogs like mine or by posting and tagging with “romance novels.”
Happy reading!

SW fic recommendations
@phoenix-jedi13 said:
If you have the time, do you have any good Star Wars fanfictions you would recommend? Preferably not NSFW or super romantic/shippy? Thanks so much, and sorryforbotheringyou (Btw your blog is one of my favorites, and I love your Little by Little au fic - but I've read all of it. That's the problem. :'D)
First of all: *squee*
Second of all: I’m ace and aro, so I don’t generally care for NSFW or super-shippy either. I’m not romance-repulsed, it’s just... boring, most of the time, I don’t see it as an interesting end-goal for a story.
Third of all: Okay, this might take some time. Let me browse through my AO3 bookmarks, and the stuff I’ve reblogged with the “fiction” tag (which however won’t have all the stuff, because I haven’t retagged my blog lately).
This is entirely in the order I come across them, and it won’t include everything.
@radioactivepeasant always has some great AU concepts. There’s not always full stories associated with them, but just the ideas are fun too.
Transition is great. It’s a little story set during Steps into Shadow, with Kanan and Sabine talking, before Kanan goes to talk with Ezra.
@kaelinaloveslomaris is THE person to go to if you want Luke and Vader father-son fluff. They’ve this large ass (over 70k words, and still going) fic called Allegiance, and it’s good.
Not If I Can Help It, where Kallus finds out that the Rebels know frick-all about shooting blasters, and tries to help them
Crystals by @entothewormhole (although that link is for the AO3 version of their story) is awesome. Set between seasons 2 and 3, Kanan learning how to deal, and Ezra being a cringe-worthy idiot, as he was in canon. And Chirrut shows up.
The Story of Finn is a bit of an outlier. Full disclosure: I haven’t watched TFA, I’m not planning on watching it before TLJ comes out, and I’m not sure even then; but this story is wonderful anyways. It’s about some First Order people, and how Finn’s story changes everything for them, for the better.
@vintage-smokestack also writes some good stuff, and I think they’re taking prompts at the moment too. My favourite of their AUs would have to be Vader Flips (where Padme appears to him before torturing Leia, saying that she’s their daughter, and he takes it about as well as expected) and the Doggoverse (Anakin gets reincarnated as a giant floofy dog at the end of RotJ).
Okay, this one isn’t even vaguely Star Wars related, but Mr. and Mrs. Baggins is one of the greatest aro-ace fics I’ve come across. Two hobbits, both of whom think romance is silly and sex is either unnecessary or disgusting, decide that they should get married. Only problem is that their families hate each other. It’s adorable and also hilarious.
Game Night in Cell Block A is a collection of three stories with Sabine and Rau, all missing scenes that could have happened offscreen. It’s good.
(Aaand that’s as far back as my “fiction” tag goes; I know there’s more, it just isn’t tagged to easily find yet. Going off of AO3 bookmarks entirely now.)
who cares about your lonely heart is something I like (Obianidala with asexual Obi-wan) but might not be to your taste; still linking it here though
Two and a Half Men (with a baby) by @jerseydevious, in which Darth Vader, Firmus Piett, and Obi-wan Kenobi are stuck in a shuttle together, along with toddler Luke Skywalker. Hasn’t been updated in a bit, but it’s still active.
the Double Agent Vader series by @fialleril. Basically, Anakin realizes he dun goofed a few years after RotS, and is working to help the Rebellion while staying at Sidious’ side. The biggest draw to this ‘verse, at least for me, is that he and Leia end up having a very good relationship, almost like father and daughter, and they’re really precious together, although neither of them know they’re actually blood relatives.
@prepare4trouble has written stuff other than Little by Little; in fact, that’s how I first met them, talking about their story on AO3. You can find their page here. I haven’t read all of it, but it might be worth a shot.
Hopefully that’ll give you some good stuff to read; and once I’ve gone though my blog and added the tags I’m now using, I’ll add some more to this.

I work so hard on my gifs and edits but barely get any notes. It's so discouraging. How do you make so pretty gifs? When I feel great about mine - I get nothing. :(
Dear anon, as corny as it is for me to say – and perhaps the most unhelpful thing as well – the best way to not get discouraged about notes is to ultimately not worry how many notes your post gets. Because in the end, it’s a creation that you enjoy first of all. Sharing it with others is just a benefit in the long run. Making a pretty gif set, in my opinion, is super subjective. Some people might think that one gif set is the prettiest thing in the world, while another might go ‘Hm… I’m not diggin’ it.’ And that’s okay! Art, beauty, it’s all unique to the person who browses and looks at gif sets in general. c:
It sounds super lame of me to say, but so long as you’re happy with what you made, does it really matter if your set gets alot of notes? I mean, my favorite edit of all time that I did is a nobody compared to my usual gif sets. But it’s a special edit that sticks close in my heart that I love. I think that’s rewarding to have finished it and know that ‘Hey. I made this! I’m happy about it! C:’ The idea of other people liking it too makes you feel nice, but they don’t need to be your only source of validation.
But, besides the pep talk, I can give you a few tips on how you might be able to get your edits out there a bit more? Not necessarily will this get you notes all the time every time, but there’s all sorts of ways you can at least spread them about and share them for people to look at them! Here’s a small list of tips:
1) TAG ALL THE THINGS!
This. This. THIS. Tagging is by far one of the most important things you can do to get your posts out there more! Tag your posts by the game title, the things it’s often abbreviated as, the characters in your edits, their nicknames – tags, tags, tags! Tags for days! Honestly, tagging things is so important! Because when you tag things, it’s a much higher chance that someone else will be able to find what you made when browsing through tumblr. They might be searching for a specific tag, a specific character, a specific ship, and so your post will most likely appear if you tag it the appropriate things!
Even more is that sometimes, people also can subscribe to certain tags to have instant access to their search or even have newer and popular posts in that tag appear on their dashboard! I personally have the ‘Ravus Nox Fleuret’ tag and a few others I follow specifically, so I always get to see what’s new for my favorite man and my ships. So by tagging your edits and posts, you’ll be able to have a farther reach with your edits for people to find!
This comes with a warning though, however: there is nothing more annoying than finding a misplaced post amongst the tags. Like, how weird would it be for you if you were browsing through the ‘Ignis Scientia’  tag and suddenly there’s a post talking about how much someone really loves the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Like, no relevance at all on the outside or inside. It’s just there? It’s strange and odd, and honestly, it appears more disorganized than anything. So be careful on how you tag your things!
If push comes to shove, just remember to tag it with these: personal tags (my edits, personal comments, etc), the fandom name and abbreviations, the character names (full and/or short, it’s up to you), and perhaps a tag for the reference you made in your gifset.
I also recommend having an internal tagging system on your blog too, if you don’t have one already in place. Tagging systems are important for blog navigation, especially for incoming followers! That way, they can come browse through your other edits, posts you have in regards to fandoms, characters, and topics they like, and more! A tag system is really important to have for the sake of organizing everything for you and your followers!
2) Finding the Right Fanbase
It’s probably a self-explanatory thing, but more popular fandoms and more popular characters will most likely get more notes than less popular ones. If you’re seeking notes, then you might find yourself perhaps wanting to use a more popular subject for your gif sets. After all, Noctis will probably always get more notes than Dave if you try to pit them against each other.
But will he get more popular than Ardyn? Well, it’s subjective too. You can make an edit of a popular character from a popular fandom, and it’ll definitely get more notes. But that’s because you’re appealing to different fanbase as a whole. Noctis is well-liked, for example, among most of the Final Fantasy XV fandom, so he’s generally going to get more attention of it all. Meanwhile, if you take another character like Ardyn, for example, you might not have everyone who liked Noctis liking Ardyn and all. But with a change of character comes a change of fanbase too! There’s quite a few Ardyn fans who would love seeing a new edit of the hobo chancellor, so keeping in mind what fanbase you want to appeal to is super important when you want to share your edits with them (again, TAG YOUR STUFF TO PASS IT AROUND).
Fanbases are always changing and different, but knowing which fanbase you want to share your edits with will play a big role on the exposure your edit may or may not get!
3) Aesthetic Appeal
As I said before, beauty is really really subjective, but there are a few design things to keep in mind when you want to make a more visually appealing edit. Art and design theory imperative to keep note of when making an edit. Of course, once you know the rules, it’ll be easy for you to bend the rules. But some things that I personally keep note of when making a gif set can include…
The Coloring – Make sure that there’s a reason why you picked certain colors in your edit, and why some exist next to others! Play with the idea of analogous colors being together and complimentary colors pushing against others. Take note of the highlights and shadows to play with some dramatic lightings. Decide which parts should be more saturated and others less saturated. Different colors convey different themes, ya know.
The Typography – If you have an edit with typography, keep in mind of the type of fonts you’re using! You wouldn’t use a curly font when talking about a dramatic death scene, after all. Picking the right fonts is crucial in fitting the right style you want. Sans Serif fonts that are close together give off a very tension and more modern feel, while spaced out ones give a more orderly and airy feel. Serif fonts give off a completely different feel to them too – being more romantic and poetic and more traditional over the boxy sans serif kinds of fonts. They all have a different mood they can capture, so pick your fonts wisely!
The Composition – Where you place everything is also super critical to keep in mind of! Like, did you know that placing text in the bottom right corner gives your brain a different signal than when you place it in the top left? In English reading, you typically read from top left to bottom right, so the right is often where your eye rests last (I can go an entire tangent about this, not gonna lie), so be weary on how you place the figures and the text in the things you’re making an edit of.
The Quality – Make sure that your edits are saved in a really nice quality! Cleaner gifs give off a more professional vibe, and they’re alot nicer to look at than something super grainy and chunky. Tumblr now has a 3 MB limit on gifs, so it’s even easier to have your gifs with higher frame rates and less pixelated quality. It’s so nice! So utilize it…!
4) Emotional Appeal
Want someone to take a moment to pause and look at your edits? Appeal to them emotionally! Make a heartbreaking scene even sadder by referencing back a relevant and even more heartbreaking quote/lyric/poem. Make a funnier moment even funnier by parodying it. People want to feel things – sad things, happy things, all the things! So using color theory and quotes to help add to these feelings can really get people to stop and look for a little bit and generate some interest. Emotions are powerful, after all! So if you’re looking for people to look at your edits, intrigue them with emotion, with thoughts too.
5) Resharing
A smaller tip, but sometimes reblogging your edits at certain times of the day is a good idea too! Don’t over-share it, but reblogging your post for the night bloggers is good – because someone’s night is someone else’s day. :D Sharing it for certain groups of people on your blog is a good idea, so that way, people from around the world won’t have to browse through a bunch of posts from the time they were sleeping until now. So it couldn’t hurt to reblog your edits every now and then. To let the night and day people look, and even to get your new followers to check out the stuff you do as well!
So there’s some tips from me about how you might be able to get your gifs out there and stuff, but remember, dear anon: You are talented in your own unique way! That in itself is amazing self-validation, and it’s really important to have that!
Keep on making edits and being great, okay? Thumbs up to you! :DD

The 10 Best Blogging Platforms & How to Pick One
As a baseball player turned blogger, my blogging platform is just as important to me as my bat was to me back in the day. If I went up to the plate with a quality bat that I personally preferred swinging, I would feel more confident, boosting my chances of getting a hit. If I didn’t, I would most likely tap a dribbler back to the pitcher.
Similarly, when blogging eventually replaced baseball in life, I discovered using a blogging platform I was comfortable with and liked, which enabled me to produce better work and results. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t execute as well. But, just like baseball bats, there are countless blogging platforms you can use. Fortunately, if you’re looking for one that’s ideal for your specific situation, we’ve got you covered. Read on to learn how to choose a blogging platform and find the best-fit platform for your content creation team.
How to Choose a Blogging Platform Before you can choose a blogging platform, it’s important to consider all your options. While you might’ve only heard of WordPress or Wix, these aren’t your only choices. Below, let’s review the three steps to help you choose the best blogging platform: 1. List your needs. Obviously, you’ll have different needs for your blogging platform if you’re a beginner or an advanced web developer. Before you can begin your research, write up a list of your must-haves. Answer questions like, “Do you need an e-commerce store on your site?” or “Do you want total customization options or are you okay working from templates?” These are the types of things you’ll want to know as you’re browsing different blogging platforms. 2. Do your research. Depending on your needs, come up with a list of the best platforms. List out the pros and cons and find the options that fit your needs. Note: We’ve started this process for you by listing the top 10 blogging platforms below. 3. Build a spreadsheet. Build a spreadsheet to compare your options. List out prices, features, support, ease of use, integrations, and design. Additionally, you’ll want to consider if the platform has room to grow as your blog grows. Now, let’s review some of your options below.
